beem rewatching 90s X-Men and they really did angel bad
In the show, he becomes Archangel because he willingly wants to submit himself through a process to "cure himself of his mutation" and lose his wings. But Warren loved his wings, Warren was scared at first but he loved to fly, loved high-flying as Angel.
Warren's problem with his wings is that he couldn't fly freely because he needed to hide the fact he was a mutant. He wasn't ashamed of his wings and wouldn't want it removed, he just wanted to fly freely
In the comics, he becomes Archangel after falling in depression because he lost his wings. And Warren falling in disgrace because he couldn't fly is one of the most interesting aspect of the Archangel Saga.

No cause nowadays fandom culture is sooo sensitive like i just saw someone asking why huskerdust from hazbin hotel is such a famous ship if they're a drug addict and an alcoholic so it doesnt seem very healthy...... BABES back in my day if a ship wasnt between a minor and a 30+ year old it was considered a win
