“The night before Christmas” poly Aziraphale x human!reader x Crowley

synopsis: you are a human in the 21st century, you rent the apartment above aziraphale’s book shop. you eventually fell in love with your landlord and his boyfriend, a man known as crowley. (i could do something on how you ended up together if anyone is interested) it is christmas eve, after a long day of work you look forward to spending time in your boyfriends arms

9:17, you stayed behind today in work, you needed to complete a rather important project and decided to do it all today so you didn’t have to go back over the weekend. You feel the cold on the tip of your nose and on fingers through your gloves. The air is crisp and the ground is dry, it seems as it if may snow soon, you think to yourself. You sigh, your warm breath creates a cloud in the air around you. The streets are littered with bright lights and wreaths, London have always been beautiful over the holidays, you take in the scene as you start your walk to the tube to get home.

9:56, as you open the door to your apartment, you’re hit with a wave of warmth, the halls smell of jasmine, you feel a comfort wash over you. After putting away your things, you walk to your bedroom and put on a record of your favourite 60s/70s band before belly flopping on the bed. You stay like that for a moment, before then turn around, sitting on top of your sheets.

You scroll on your phone for a while, your eyes started to feel heavy. You hear familiar footsteps in your apartment, you smile to yourself and sit up as you hear the two men playfully bickering as they open your door. You’re met with Aziraphale’s beaming smile, he pulls you into a strong hug as Crowley walks around your bed, examining your cupboards. “Hello my dear! You’re home later then usual, is everything alright? You look tired.” The angel examines your facial features waiting for your reply, but before you get the chance to, Crowley chimes in, “This is my record! This was first addition you know! You could have at least asked for it!” You giggle as you watch him carefully put the record back into its sleeve.

You turn back to the angel, “Everything is perfect my love, I just did some extra work is all.” Crowley takes a seat on the other side of you on the bed, and places his head on your shoulder. “You stretch yourself too thin, your life is too short to be wasting it on such useless things.” Crowley adds, you nudge your shoulder at this, and he dramatically shouts “Ouch!”

“Oh come now you too!” Aziraphale laughs, “It’s Christmas tomorrow! It’s a time of cheer and good tidings,” he lays on the bed looking towards the sealing and wriggles against the pillow to get comfortable, you follow him, laying facing him, Crowley stays sitting looking at the two of you. “I’ve already got everything planned and organised, there will be a big roast dinner, and I have my presents prepared for you too” He smirks, clearly proud of himself.

“Well if I got either of you muppets a gift I wouldn’t be telling you, I’ve got to keep you both on your toes.” Crowley scoffs, he takes off his glasses and puts them on the bedside table. He then lays behind you, wrapping his hands around your waist and snuggles his nose is the back of your neck. You laugh, “I’m sure you have Crowley, there’s no need to be coy with us.”

“What they said.” Aziraphale adds, “And besides, spending time together is better then any gift you could give us.” He smiles as he puts his arm over you and Crowley. You lean into his embrace and close your eyes, taking in their warmth. “Awh ain’t that cute,” He teases, snapping his fingers to make the lights turn off. “We should let y/n sleep now, they’re going to need it or they’ll be too exhausted to enjoy tomorrow.”

“Yes that sounds like a splendid idea.” Aziraphale whispers, kissing the top of your head, “I love you both.” He says softly as he takes Crowley’s hand. “I love you too.” You reply. Crowley smirks to himself, “Ditto”. Snow starts to fall and land on the window. The night feels quiet, only the breathing (and snoring) of your boyfriends can he heard. You slept like a baby that night.

2023 BL/GL/QL Round-Up Post

I thought for posterity I'd post a reflection on everything I watched that completed in 2023. For me, that means anything that started in 2022 but the last episode was in 2023 is on this list, but anything that will still be airing after 31 December 2023 11:59 my time (EST) is not on this list, even if the bulk of the show did air in 2023.

A few stats:

110 discrete pieces of content (series/films)

clocking in at est. 600 hours of NEW BL/GL content only

from 9 different countries (Cambodia [1], Philippines [3], Hong Kong [1], Japan [18], Korea [19], Myanmar [1], Taiwan [6], Thailand [56], Vietnam [7])

~50% of the content I watched on this list is from Thailand

~85% of my content was on YouTube [40%], GaGaOoLaLa [23%] and iQIYI [21%].

[Note that this year a lot of older GMMTV shows moved off of YouTube and onto Viki so if you're looking at these stats to decide what to pay for, this won't account for that.]

This doesn't include re-watches or catching up on old shows [e.g. I re-watched Love Sick, My Ride the Series, Semantic Error, ITSAY/IPYTM, Our Dating Sim at least 3 times lol, and anything with a s2 I re-watched s1 to prep, among others, watched Fujoshi Ukkari Gei no Kokuru (2019) for the first time] or non-QL [e.g. Heartstopper s2, Our Flag Means Death s2, Taskmaster s. 15 & 16, Uncanny Counter s2, One Piece s1, etc.] but does include films as well as shows, though I don't count special episodes separately (so Wedding Plan counts once, though I watched both the show and the special).

I hope you all appreciate that with this much content, and with my general brand of being unable to make decisions, I really struggled to narrow down a top 10 list. What follows is the best I could do lol

Sadly, of the GLs that aired this year, I wouldn't recommend any of them. The best one was Show Me Love, which was not actually good but had very gorgeous women and a LOT of flirting.

The other huge thing that happened this year was that I stopped lurking! Thanks specifically to @lurkingshan and @bengiyo demanding everyone start talking about La Pluie, because they got me to post my first meta post. And because I started actually talking to people, I started making actual friends, and participated in organizing things like the Be My Favorite clown checkpoint for ep 11. I also disappeared a month because of life, and am still catching up on everything I intended to write this year. But it's been really rewarding finding this corner of tumblr with likeminded people who like good shows, like to think about these shows, and who are interested in talking about them in a way that's insightful and respectful.

It's been a long time since I felt comfortable enough participating actively in a fandom, and I just want to say to everyone I've interacted with this year: Thank you!

“there you go,” robin breathes, gently settling your back to the rocks. “we’re safe here.”

you swallow hard, the tang smell of blood on your drenched t-shirt makes your head dizzy, the murky air around gets harder to breathe and the voice of the horrifying creatures around adds more to your anxiousness. “we’re not,” your eyes flutter close as a tear escapes to your sweaty cheeks, “not while we’re stuck in here.”

robin lifts your shirt, being careful to not to hurt you while taking it off. you see how her face scrunches at the sight. her face mirrors how bad it is, even though she tries her best to hide it. “you should leave me behind,” you breathe out, shaking as the cold hits your exposed skin covered in blood. “ i’ll slow you guys down.”

you knew from the moment you jumped to the water right after robin that this wasn’t a good idea. you knew you couldn’t live with the guilt of letting her behind. she was your closest friend, you couldn’t just let her jump to the death. not without you. now you can not let yourself be a burden to her.

“nonsense!” her voice quakes as she starts to wrap a piece of clothing around your torso. you hiss, another teardrop rolling down your cheek. robin panics.“ you’re not slowing us - and - and - and i’m not going to let the girl of my dreams become dinner for those bat-monster things.”

suddenly you forget about the unbearable pain you’re dealing with. you forget about you’re trapped in the upside down, probably will be dead in a few hours. cheeks heat up, her words echoing in your mind on repeat. the girl of my dreams.

“your what?”

she looks at you startled, doesn’t expecting you to hear that. mumbles something under her breath, and her hands and mouth starts to work faster than her brain, just how she says all the time. “i - i just - i meant that - i dream of all of us, steve, eddie, nancy, you, me, kids? getting out of this shit hole and living the rest of our lives happily - as friends of course. though i’m not sure about nancy and steve’s situation, i mean she’s got a boyfriend but they seem -”

you call her name, hands placing above hers. you admire her features a bit, freckles on her bumpy nose, squishy cheeks you always love to pinch when you’re annoying her now painted in crimson red, big, blue orbs batting at you under her lashes. she takes your breath away.

“yeah?”

“that -” you clear your throat, looking away immediately with embarrassment. “sounds like a great dream.”

“yeah?” she wears an idiotic smile.

“yeah.” you mime, bashfully.

eddie throws a death glare towards you. “can you two continue your - flirting or whatever the hell is going on here, when we’re out here alive, okay!” steve making a moment to hush him, only to get hushed by eddie. “am i the only one who cares about surviving here?”

after offering you her own jacket, robin makes a move to get up. but you’re quick to pull her down and place an almost unnoticeable kiss to her cherry lips. you smile at her stunned state while getting up with a struggle. your face wrinkles with pain but fails to hide the big stupid smile. you whisper down at her when her fingers press where your lips were a moment ago. “i mean we’re at the skull rock, right?”

~600 words of Aurora taking things in her own hands when Mountain has a flare up due to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Mountain glares at his hands. His hands, made to bring the message of the church to the masses, are only causing him pain. He had tried pushing through the pain, but Aurora had noticed him wincing when he had unbuttoned his shirt and taken his hands in hers.

“I’ll take care of you,” Aurora kisses Mountain’s palms, carefully massaging them between the pads of her fingers. Mountain had invited her to his room for a night of debauchery and celebrating the sin of lust together, yet now his vessel is changing the plans. “Just let me take care of you tonight.”

“This isn’t what I was planning for,” Mountain mumbles, watching Aurora unbutton his shirt with speed he could not have mustered tonight and reach up so she can push it off his shoulders. When she grabs him by the belt loops and leads him towards the bed, Mountain is surprised by her strength. She is as much of a lioness as any of the ghoulettes, and Mountain should have known better than to assume anything different. Just because she is relatively new, doesn’t mean she does not have claws.

“So, you were not planning on spending the night with me, sharing each other's bodies?” Aurora looks at him mischievously as she stops him in front of the bed. She unbuttons his trousers, pushing them down along with the boxers, leaving Mountain standing completely bare. “Because that’s what I was planning. Sit down, big boy.”

Mountain obeys, watching with interest as Aurora makes quick work out of undressing him. He bites the inside of his cheek as she takes off his socks, so he does not kick her on reflex when her manicured nail hits the sensitive sole of his foot. He could have undressed himself, but he enjoys that he does not have to. Aurora looks like a fallen angel on her knees, her long hair kept away from her face by her horns that albeit short are still just as sharp as her tongue. Her hair frames her lithe frame and falling just short from her round breasts, her nipples pebbled in the cool air of the room.

“What have I done to deserve this?” Mountain asks when Aurora straddles him, bringing his hands to her lips. He hated not being able to use his hands, wanting to please Aurora all night but that is not the cards for tonight. Yet, she is taking it with a stride, not bothered at all.

“Just you, being you,” Aurora replies, planting kisses along his collarbone, giving him nips and kitten licks, making Mountain squirm as she finds his most sensitive spots. She puts his hands on her waist, and Mountain is fascinated on how his aching hands enveloped her. She looks so delicate, yet she has a backbone of steel that comes to play when she wants to. Her tone leaves no room for argument as she says, “Keep your hands here. Be a good boy and don’t move them.”

Mountain only nods. Any thoughts left his mind as he feels Aurora slowly grind down on him, his cock chubbing in interest. He could not help but cling on to her waist for dear life as Aurora continues rolling her hips as her hand grabs him by his long hair and pushes their lips together. He moans, shameless in his pleasure, praising Satan and all the fallen angels for sending Aurora to him. “You are a vixen, buttercup, luring me in with your charm. Ah, Satanas.”

TYSK, or Things You Should Know, is a bi-weekly post I intend to share about worldwide news. I am that random factoid friend, and I love sharing new information with people because I see information as power. This is my way of attempting to do my part in sharing and participating in the world and whatnot.

I recently watched the film American Fiction, I am a fan of everyone involved and am in love with the premise of the film. I did find a bit of disappointment with Tracee Ellis Ross's character's quick intro and exit. There was more to explore with her character and I was deeply disappointed. The film does well at highlighting the interpersonal issues of Black middle-class families. It asks us to be more nuanced about the lives of Black Americans and the different ways we suffer under capitalism/white supremacy. We need to take a moment to be more curious about who is telling our stories and how we can have more of us in the room. Equity is necessary and best when done right.

News

Yemeni and US/UK conflict is suspected to be caused by Yemen´s stance against the genocide of the Palestinian people.

2. Rihanna´s brand SavageX Fenty is reported to have an ethics rating lower than Sheins. Re/Make´s annual ethics report, the Fashion Accountability Report scored it a 4/150. While doing well for diversity, they noted that there was little information about the care for its workers and the earth. Along with her makeup line, there are reports of child labor law violations, volatile work environments, and a history of using oil-based synthetic products.

3. It was recently discovered after the bodies of 3 Black men were found in a Pauper´s grave in Hinds County, that more than 600 other bodies had been buried there since 2008. Since 2016, over 215 bodies have been placed there in unmarked graves. This information surfaced after a mother had been informed that her son had been killed in a hit-and-run by an off-duty officer.

Storms Soak California A series of back-to-back atmospheric rivers has drenched much of California since late December 2022, leading to floods, debris flows, road closures, and over a billion dollars of damage. According to the National Weather Service, almost all of the state has received rainfall totals of 400-600 percent above average between December 26, 2022 and January 9, 2023. The latest storm hit particularly hard in Southern California. Over January 8-9, 2023, much of the region from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles received 3 to 7 inches (8 to 18 cm) of rain. Some areas of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties saw over 16 inches (41 cm) of rainfall in just two days. These maps show a snapshot of surface soil moisture in the western United States on December 26, 2022 (top) and January 9, 2023 (bottom), as measured by the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On (GRACE-FO) satellites. The colors depict the wetness percentile; that is, how the soil moisture on those days compared to long-term records (1948-2012) based on location and the time of year. Blue areas have more abundant water than usual, and orange and red areas have less. Most of the state went from drier-than-normal soils on December 26, to near record levels of wetness on January 9. The vast expanse of wetter-than-usual (dark blue) soils on January 9 created hazardous conditions throughout the state as rain continued to fall. On January 9, evacuation orders were in place for 25,000 people near Santa Barbara, including the entire community of Montecito, due to heightened flood and mudslide risks. In the Santa Ynez Mountains above Santa Barbara, mud and debris blocked a roadway and isolated hundreds of people. About 20 miles east of Montecito, a mudflow blocked another road near Casitas Springs. The unrelenting atmospheric rivers come after drought has plagued the state since 2020. According to a recent report from NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information, 2022 was the ninth-driest year in California on a record that goes back to 1895. As of January 3, virtually all of California was still in a moderate or severe drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. But the latest rain and snow swamping the state could help. A recent snow survey found that the Central and Southern Sierra’s have twice as much snow as is normally seen this time of year. And water levels in California’s reservoirs are rising quickly. However, some of the state’s largest reservoirs, such as Lake Shasta and Lake Oroville, are still below average levels. Yet another atmospheric river is headed toward the U.S. West Coast on January 11. This time, the storm is expected to impact areas farther north—from Northern California and up the coast of the Pacific Northwest. *later that day*

After that incident, the whole rec room was muted. No one said a word, no one spoke, no looked at one another. No one dared to do this. Not Sionis, not Greenwood - no one.

Even the cops were a little worried about all the inmates. It never has been that quiet in Arkham. There was no intruder who danced around and mumbled any shit. There was no one who tried to mess with the cops or anyone else.

Jerome had scared them away. He earned all their respect. He became a king in Arkham, or let's better say an emperor. He just needed to snip with his fingers and several inmates were provided to do him a favor. He didn't need to make a move anymore - inmates brought him his food, the water he wanted to drink, the newspapers if he had the urge to read. The happening resembled a monarchy. A king sat on his throne while all his servants worked for him 24 hours a day.

For Scarlet it was the best time to read the newspaper, without anyone who got on her nerves. There was nothing new in the world that would interest her: robberies in banks, reports about upcoming festivals, and an older guy named Theo Gallavan standing for Gotham's new major. It was quite a boring time in Gotham, Scarlet thought, there was no new criminal who put the fear of God into Gotham's citizens. Too bad Scarlet sat here in Arkham. She had so many ideas to hit headlines: Placing bombs at the train station, shooting at cops... things like that. And now with Jerome on her side, Gotham would end in ruins.

Yawning of boredom, Scarlet turned a page and suddenly found an article about her family:

Patel residence on sale after murder!

After the incident, the attempting murder on Adrian Patel and his deceased girlfriend Kyle Trivenfold, the young man decided to sell the 600 square meters big villa for his own good.

This house belonged to the Patel family for 6 generations.

3 weeks ago, Patel's youngest family member, Scarlett Patel, attempted to murder her brother and his girlfriend in the middle of the night. By Adrian's own account, the 17 year old teenager tied them up on chairs after knocking them out with a hammer. In the following, she tortured her victims with cuts and stabs on several body parts. As Adrian said, killing Kyle was an attempt to torture him and she was just annoying, a quote Scarlett has said before she slit her throat.

"I still can't believe it was my little sister." Adrian said "She was an angel. I never thought she would be capable of a murder. She was so shy and so quiet. She was innocent in person."

Currently, Scarlett Patel is busted in Arkham for confessed murder.

The GCPD told the murder on Kyle Trivenfold was not the only murder the young teenager has confessed. She confessed her committed parricide 2 years ago, as the following murders on several employees of her deceased father.

Interesting, my brother is moving away, Scarlet thought. She just wondered where to? Was he leaving the city or even the state? It was clear, she needed to find it out. She didn't like unfinished work at all. She remembered that little game she played with him and his now dead girlfriend. It was so fun, but sadly this fun was interrupted - good for her, she now had enough time to plan a masterly kill and a glorious break-out. Good to know, she had Jerome on her side so she could ask him for several ideas how to perfectly torture a human being - and of course how to break out. He knew Arkham inside out, he knew every shift change, every shift breaks, every time the cops came and disappeared. He was the expert she needed.

While reading, Scarlet observed Jerome a little. He sat on another table with Aaron Helzinger, Greenwood and Sionis.

Not long ago, she and Jerome decided to form a plan to escape - but not alone. Alone, it would be way too dangerous. The chances to get caught were too high - so they needed a good distraction: Aaron should be the aggressive bodyguard if any special safety was needed, Greenwood the spy - he's a suspicious one, that's why. He was like a ghost. Nobody noticed him whenever he sat or stood next to a person, so he overheard everything people said; and Sionis ordered several resources you needed due to his old job as a businessman. He could get arms, money, and a roof over your heads near Gotham. He probably was the most useful mate in the group.

"Whatcha reading, sweet cheeks?" Jerome suddenly strolled over to her with a big grin on his face, taking a seat next to her. He admired her again, sitting there like a queen on her throne.

"An article," She said "My brother wants to sell our home because of this tragic accident he sadly had with me and his dead girlfriend" she spat "He's an idiot. Cannot even handle a triviality without running away from all the shit"

"Sounds like your brother is a party pooper. I hate these people. Just can't take a joke, can they?" He sighed "My mother was the same. Couldn't take the joke when I set things on fire in her van"

"Yeah" Scarlet commented somewhat disinterestedly, putting the newspaper aside "he's always been like that. Another reason why I wanna kill that pussy. He fucking annoys me."

She remembered every single day where her brother argued with his dad or was in any other critical situation. He always ran away from it. It was like he was even scared of disputes, as if his brain signaled he was in a dangerous situation and he needed to escape. He was a pussy, you can tell.

"Lucky you, you have me now, doll" Jerome wrapped his arm around her tightly with a smile "I know methods how to erase a problem best"

"That's what I thought" Scarlet smirked "but we should first focus on our plan to escape. The thing with my brother can wait"

"C'mon doll," Jerome nudged her playfully "Why being so boring when having some fun at making torture plans? Don't be as boring as all the others here." He didn't really understand what her problem was. Why couldn't she plan two different things at the same time? It wasn't that hard.

"I prefer organized fun, Jerome, which means step by step. We don't even have discussed the details of how to escape. I don't work with rugged shit." She knew what she was talking about. Why else would she now sit in Arkham? Right, because she forgot about the details like checking on the neighbors' sleeping time or making her victims shut up with towels.

"Fine then, be a boring planner" Jerome rolled his eyes with an annoyed sigh, "Anyways, Greenwood's keeps complaining about Dobkins. Said he's making him feel awkward," Jerome snorted.

"Too bad," Scarlet snorted, "Dobkins is useful with his little issue. He's a good distraction, already included in our plan." Now she faced Jerome "You can tell Greenwood: Any complainants, deadly consequences. I'm not joking." Oh, Scarlet was harsh with this stuff - she was a perfectionist. If anything did not work as she had planned, she flipped out.

"Didn't know you're that feisty, doll" Jerome grinned wider, then he turned her to him leaning his arms on her upper thighs; their faces were inches away from each other. "I like that."

"And I'm a lot more," She smirked, closing the newspaper and throwing it on the table, "Now about the plan. I figured to escape in the early morning, around 4 since shift change is at 3:30. Most cops are gone, others just start to get ready, make coffee...vice versa - that's what Greenwood told me. Sionis makes sure a friend of his turns all cameras off, this friend opens Dobkins and Sionis' cell. Dobkins runs through the asylum distracting the cops while Sionis opens our cells informing us about the current situation. His friend brings us arms then we kill and escape."

"Had a similar plan...mine included some more BOOM! and POW! and BANG! I'd prefer mine." Jerome hummed pursing his lips. He gave her a look signaling her his plan was actually a lot better than hers. Hers was pretty boring. There was no real action, nothing that seemed exciting. Everyone else would make a plan like that, he thought, he didn't want to work with that.

"I'm listening." I crossed my arms, she knew he did that provocation on purpose "Tell me your plan."

"So," he started folding his hands "We firstly distract the cops with some bombs, most of them get killed by them when they start running to that certain place. Then Sionis' little friend opens my door, handing me a pump gun to shoot your door open, while his friend opens the other doors - eventually. You know, liberating them is like pissing in the wind."

"Interesting," She nodded .'I'm just not a fan of attention when trying to escape. Too many risks. Cops get aware of it faster, call for Back-up...Media gets aware of it... Very compelling, just not my type."

"Ugh..." Jerome rolled his eyes in annoyance "Where's the fun doll? An organized unobtrusive escape...that's boring, it's not special, not ordinary because everybody does this. Don't be so stubborn with your concepts, enjoy fun."

"Fun comes after work." She rolled her eyes "I don't like being distracted nor do I like making accidental mistakes that are caused by bombs or anything."

"Fine then," Jerome rolled his eyes with a loud sigh "Sounds pretty boring, but fine, doll. We do whatever makes you happy"

EXCLUSIVE: Fox Nation is lining up more religious content ahead of Easter, snapping up the rights to both The Chosen and The Passion of the Christ.

Passion of the Christ will be available beginning March 8, while Seasons 1 through 3 of The Chosen are set to debut on Fox Nation on March 10.

Both titles will be available through the peak viewing season, with Passion remaining through Easter and The Chosen staying even longer, through April 21.

In addition to these titles, Fox Nation will also be hosting a roundtable discussion to dissect both programs, led by Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt. Details on guests for the roundtable are coming soon, Fox says.

The Chosen has become somewhat of a hot commodity lately, with The CW picking up the first three seasons last summer. The series about the life of Jesus is from creator, director and producer Dallas Jenkins (The Resurrection of Gavin Stone, What If…) and stars Jonathan Roumie as the King of Kings.

The Chosen is described as the first multi-season series of its kind. Set against the backdrop of Jewish oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings. The fourth season is currently in production.

It began as a crowdsourcing project on the Angel Studios app and turned into a global hit with over 110 million viewers in 175 countries, with plans to make it available in 600 languages. The series has generated 6.5 million followers across social media, made $35 million at box office in special-event theatrical releases and has spawned an apparel line, best-selling books, DVDs and an upcoming series of graphic novels.

Directed by Mel Gibson, The Passion of the Christ is a 2004 film about the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus of Nazareth (Jim Caviezel). The film opens in the Garden of Olives (Gethsemane) where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Jesus resists Satan’s temptations. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, Jesus is arrested and taken back to within the city walls of Jerusalem where the leaders of the Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy and his trial results in a condemnation to death.

The pic remains the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time domestically, with $370.8 million. It was No. 1 at the North American box office for five nonconsecutive weeks.

Fox Nation has been building its platform on faith-based content, including the docu-drama Jesus Crown of Thorns coming in 2025.

Where geniuses recommended geniuses as replacements, not once but three times within the same story!

Story being - Rajesh Khanna had just announced to the world, after his mega successful year 1969, arguably the greatest singular year for a single artist, & one of his 6-7 consecutive years that saw him deliver ~ 50 films, all of which today find proud place in Indies All-Time Top 500-600 Hindi films ever!..that no other singer would ever playback for him, except the great Kishore Kumar! Naturally then, whenever any song for a Rajesh film would be orchestrated, Kishore would be the person to call for blindly. .. Same for this one song in 'Haathi Mere Saathi' (one of Khanna's 25 films royally included among Indie's All-Time Top 100 Hindi Films ever!) ..the Bengali maestro came to the studios, & started his rehearsals. Yet, for some peculiar reason, he found this particular song very hard to get right, such that even after several attempts & rehearsals, he just couldn't get himself to be satisfied. He kept thinking to himself, & slyly looking at the music composers Laxmikant-Pyarelal all this while, when finally Kishore got up & exclaimed "This is Rafi's song! Only Rafi can sing it!". Kishore perhaps in his genius, sensed that this deeply Rafi number was only given to him, coz of the hero's grand media announcement..and choosing to make a gracious exit would be the best course for sake of art. Yet composers & producers now were in a quandary as to how the megastar would react!..to which the meastro asked them not to worry (perhaps knowing that his deep friendship with Khanna would turn the tide), & as exactly how turned out. But the next problem- Twas considered a big insult in music circles then (& those were the finest most sensitive brilliant musical times indeed) for a singer to be the replacement..& here was Rafi the great, put in that position! Wonder how he'd react?! Not to be a worry, as Rafi saab, famous for his super large heart & angelic demeanor, didn't bat an eyelid, & accepted what was offered!

The result- 1. One of the only entries in record books, of arguably the greatest post-independence singer of Bollywood, ever singing, for it's greatest ever actor! 2. A music album that broke all records, winning the producing music company a silver disc for sales, for the first time! 3. A film that not only turned out to be the biggest hit of the year, but counting for inflation (& only competing with Bahubali) remains the biggest ever Bollywood hit by a South Indian producer!

Their South and West market areas hit entry-level, mid-level, and active adult communities. With modest gains in their number of closings and revenue, it’s business as usual for the popular firm.

11,834 closings (up 27.7%) $4.44 billion in revenue (up 23.1%) Average revenue per closing: $375,021 Meritage is a name you’ll find in the South and West parts of the country. Their broad focus includes entry-level, mid-level, luxury, and active adult sectors. The Scottsdale-based company maintains its #6 slot from last year, improving revenue a bit more than $800 million.

12,524 closings (up 25.7%) $6.13 billion in revenue (up 32.6%) Average revenue per closing: $489,380 Taylor Morrison hits entry-level, mid-level, luxury, active adult, and vacation home construction, mainly in the Midwest, South, and West parts of the US. Another Scottsdale, AZ firm, they keep their lead over Meritage with just a couple hundred more closings and larger average revenue. They picked up some $1.5 billion in revenue from 2019.

19,766 closings (almost no change) $7.33 billion in revenue (up 1.5%) Average revenue per closing: $370,737 NVR finishes with modest revenue gains, maintaining their number of closings and seeing respectable revenues per closing. The Virginia-based firm serves the Northeast, Midwest, and South.

Pultegroup builds entry-level, mid-level, and active adult homes across the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West.

53,376 closings (up 3.7%) $20.8 billion in revenue (up 1.4%) Average revenue per closing: $390,047

Lennar neds to add more closings to achieve that coveted to spot in our Top 10 Builders in the USA list. The company posted some monster numbers in 2018 thanks to their acquisition of CalAtlantic. 2019 saw modest gains in the number of closings and minimal revenue growth. In terms of gross revenue, Lennar is double (more than $10 billion) ahead of #3 Pultegroup.

Lennar builds entry-level, mid-level, and active adult communities in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West.

1 D.R. Horton, Ft. Worth, Texas

71,292 closings (up 22%) $21.6 billion in revenue (up 24.2%) Average revenue per closing: $302,671 D.R. Horton tops the list of top 10 builders in the USA thanks to dominating (by almost 18,000) in the number of closings. Their $300,000+ average revenue per closing is some $88,000 less than Lennar, but they still snatched the top spot for overall revenue as well. At $21.6 billion, it’s good to be the king.

The Ft. Worth, Texas firm covers nearly every part of the US with homes in the entry-level, mid-level, luxury, and active adult sectors. Of the top 10, they’re the only firm that covers the Pacific area of the US.

In 1935, test pilot, Captain [insert name] volunteered for a three year secondment to the supersonic test program, run jointly by Kendrick Turbine, and RCAF. Four years later, near the end of the war Kendrick had something a little quicker to try out, the first person they called was Lieutenant Colonel [insert name]. The K-14 Falchion dropped from the bomb bay of the Mk 3 Albatross, at 48000 feet doing 600 knots over the plains of Saskatchewan. Two minutes later the prototype aircraft was 80 miles away, 30000 feet higher, and accelerating smoothly towards Mach 7. The scramjet had nothing more to give at Mach 8.2, the final push for Mach 10 would be rocket assisted, but before [insert name] got there, airframe melting became a terminal problem, at least for the Falchion.

When a Russian oligarch’s entire family fell victim to the tragedy in the Indian Ocean, she decided the world needed a cometary defence system. After taking over a former military moon base, the call went out for space miners. Strelok was looking for people willing to spend several years away from Earth, with experience in heavy engineering, and preferably with hours in a national space program. [insert name] had spent 13 years building space stations and hotels, until the market collapsed. Six years of bridge building in the desert later, and they was ready to go back to the black. The first month was spent on the surface, setting up machines to lay the enormous solar arrays needed to power the facility. Once the TBM parts arrived the mining could truly begin. Six hours a day sounded pretty damn good, especially for what was being paid. At least until you realised, all that time was spent doing hard labour, in a heavy spacesuit, in high temperatures, and poor lighting, and that a company day is only 18 hours long.

Training as a Death Angel had been fun until the news came through that parachuting would be useless against the East Russian flechette batteries. Being something of an adrenaline junkie [insert name] had immediately volunteered to test new quick insertion systems. And now here they were dropping out of the back of the V-34 [insert name] trusting their life to the fourth novel form of deceleration in as many months. The altimeter pinged twice, a tiny pneumatic cylinder thunked, and the loose rack of tubes rattled off their back forming into a pole some fifty feet long. The flat base of the pole hit the ground, and the braking arms started to shriek as they endeavoured to save [insert name]’s life. [insert name] hit the ground about as hard as they would have below a canopy, they slapped the harness release, turned around and pushed the pole over. Around them another 59 men and women were dealing with their own prototype landing systems, while a similar number of medics had rushed the landing zone to deal with injuries. [insert name] trotted over to help another soldier out of a slimy, green, sludge that had failed to dissipate properly.

The owner of Phish had approached [insert name]’s gang regarding deliveries, because they were the only ones who would risk travelling at speed through the zone. After a couple of weeks, they wanted to know if they’d be willing to be guides in the zone, leading his clientele to the restaurant. [insert name] negotiated 20000 Yen for two hours work twice a day plus a 100000 yen to upgrade their armour. [insert name] used their armour allowance to kit themself out in industrial looking, padded composite, tailored to look like an 18th century samurai. As the rich gastronomes got dressed in their encounter suits, in the small parking lot next to a family mart on the edge of the zone. [insert name] and the gang checked the batteries in the customer’s wand packs. Every member of the party carried a small ‘Unicorn’ wand, while the four guides each carried a much longer, and more powerful ‘Narwhal’ to deal with larger spheres.

The Sidley-T4 and the much larger T6 were commonly known as Saddles by the pilots who flew them. Shaped a little like their namesakes, if you were far away and squinted a lot, the Saddles were modified supply haulers with more engines and fuel tanks. [insert name] and the other Rock Jockeys used the vessels to shepherd the asteroids brought into the moons orbit by the auto boosters. [insert name] felt that their 15 years as a logging pilot, flying trees out of forests all over the world set them up almost perfectly when this job opportunity came up; but nothing could have prepared them for the scale of things out in the black. They had on more than one occasion, found themselves grabbing for handholds out of sudden fear as they guided a rock the size of a city block, into a furnace the size of Central Park.

[insert name] was stimmed off their face on Antisom, cruising the highway on a stripped down 2WD. They and their gang had been looking for Charon's Oarsmen for two hours. The only place left was the truck stop by junction three. Coming round the cloverleaf [insert name] spotted the bone coloured bikes of the Oarsmen, two pledges were left on watch outside the Chop Shop bar and grill. [insert name] signalled their gang to cut their engines. Two minutes later the twelve strong gang rolled dark and quiet onto the forecourt. Starting their engines and flooding the lot with eye burning spotlights. One of the pledges was smart, they immediately ran into the eatery for back-up. The other was less so, trying to hold his ground by waving a length of rebar at the approaching group. A wrench flew out of darkness beyond the light, making a sickening crack, like a coconut being broken, as it bounced off the Oarsman's skull.

When Re-Form hit the market, [insert name] was one of the first in the queue. They didn’t have the cash for a full body treatment but they’d scraped together enough for the half body/no extremities option. The programmable genome-gel could alter the user in a multitude of exotic ways. While deciding exactly what they wanted to do with the gel, rumours and videos started to circulate of people who had been reckless in their use. Giant balloon hands from a lack of gloves, extraneous appendages from improper programming, and uneven application causing grotesque chimera. So [insert name] was very careful, watching tutorials, talking on forums, even going to a professional body modder for assistance. 6 months after their first visit to Splice to See You [insert name]’s arms and back were now well on the way to being the size of a gorilla’s, with their back covered in skin like an albino alligator, from neck to buttocks. When AL took over a couple of years later, he started offering cybernetic replacement body parts to the general public, [insert name] went for some extra speed to go with their, already augmented, strength. The legs had to come from an athletics range, with suped up motors and suspension at the knees and hips, to counter the mass of [insert name]’s sizeable upper body.

It was still hard for [insert name] to believe that it was only a couple of years ago when they had been sitting outside St. Joe’s. That night AL, in his usual PA droid guise, had come to [insert name] offering to change their life for the better. With nothing to lose [insert name] had taken the offer, and now here they were, figurehead of a ten trillion dollar multinational company. [insert name] knew that after AL took over, they would probably be seen as a traitor by a fair percentage of the world's population, but they knew being out from under their addiction was worth it. Also being in on the ground floor of an actual conspiracy was amazing fun.

October 31st

2013 - Marvin Gaye

Marvin Gaye's family were taking legal action against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams for copyright infringement over their hit song Blurred Lines. Three of Gaye's children filed legal papers accusing them of copying elements of the song 'Got To Give It Up'. The Gaye family cited excerpts of magazine interviews given by Thicke to support their claim he had admitted to drawing on 'Got to Give it Up' when producing Blurred Lines.

2005 - John Lennon

The white suit worn by John Lennon on the cover of the Beatles' Abbey Road album sold for $118,000 (£66,385) at an auction in Las Vegas. And an Austin Princess hearse driven by the late star in the documentary Imagine sold for $150,000 (£84,388). A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the items went to Amnesty International.

1998 - Cher

Chart history was made when the UK Top 5 singles chart was made up entirely of new entries. Alanis Morissette went in at No.5, Culture Club at No.4, U2 at No.3, George Michael at No.2 and Cher with 'Believe' at No.1. It made Cher (who was 52) the first female artist to have a No.1 single over the age of 50. The song was a No.1 in 23 countries.

1996 - Slash

Slash announced he was no longer in Guns N' Roses. The guitarist said that Axl Rose and he had only been civil to each other on two occasions since 1994.

1995 - James Brown

James Brown was arrested in Aiken, South Carolina for assaulting his 47 year old wife, Adrienne, who said that her husband hit her with a mirror. Adrienne died in January, 1996 and the assault charges against James were dropped.

1990 - Roger Scott

UK DJ Roger Scott died of cancer aged 46. Scott was one of the most respected broadcasters in the UK, working on Capital Radio for 15 years and then BBC Radio 1. Working as a presenter at the Montreal station 1470 CFOX, Scott sang on ‘Give Peace a Chance’, recorded by John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their "Bed-in" for peace at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canada.

1990 - Billy Idol

During a gig in Seattle, Washington, Billy Idol dumped 600 dead fish in Faith No More's dressing room. They responded by walking on stage, naked during Idol's set.

1974 - Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin held the UK launch for their new record label Swan Song at Chislehurst Caves, Kent, England on Halloween night. Drinks were served by nuns in suspenders, a naked woman lay in a coffin covered in jelly and naked male wrestlers cavorted in recesses of the caves. Label mates Bad Company, The Pretty Things and Maggie Bell also attended. The launch also tied in with the releases of The Pretty Things new album Silk Torpedo. The label was named after an unreleased Zeppelin instrumental track.

1969 - David Bowie

David Bowie appeared at a Halloween night at the General Gordon, Gravesend, England. The gig lasted about 15 minutes, after Bowie sang 'Space Oddity' to everyone’s delight and then dragged a stool on stage, along with a huge book. He then sat and read poems and was booed off stage.

1967 - Brian Jones

Rolling Stone Brian Jones was released from Wormwood Scrubs prison on £750 bail pending appeal. Jones had been found guilty of possession of cannabis. Seven Stones fans were arrested and charged with obstructing the police after demonstrating outside the prison gates.

1964 - Ray Charles

Ray Charles was arrested by Logan Airport customs officials in Boston and charged with possession of heroin. This was his third drug charge, following incidents in 1958 and 1961. Charles avoided prison after kicking the habit in a clinic in Los Angeles, but spent a year on parole in 1966.

1964 - The Supremes

The Supremes started a four week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Baby Love', the group's second of five consecutive US No.1's. The group were formerly known as the five piece group The Primettes.

1963 - Gerry And The Pacemakers

Gerry And The Pacemakers were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' The group's third and final No.1.

1963 - The Beatles

The Beatles returned to London from Sweden and were greeted by hundreds of screaming fans and a mob of photographers and journalists. American television host Ed Sullivan was at Heathrow as The Beatles arrived, and was struck by the sight of Beatlemania in full swing; he decided to look into getting this group to appear on his US television program.

1959 - The Quarry Men

The Quarry Men decided to change their name to Johnny and the Moondogs. The band were in Liverpool auditioning for the Carrol Levis show. The Quarry Men featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison.

1954 - Vera Lynn

Vera Lynn was at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'My Son, My Son.' The singers only No.1 hit. Lynn who had three songs in the first ever Top 12 in 1952 was known as the "Forces Sweetheart" during World War II.

1952 - Chuck Berry

Pianist Johnnie Johnson hired 26 year old Chuck Berry as a guitarist in his band. While playing evening gigs in the St. Louis area, Berry kept his day job as a hairdresser for the next three years.
