Lzzy Hale is set to replace Erik Gronwall for Skid Row's upcoming shows. The rock band and the Swedish singer announced in a joint statement that Gronwall will step down as the vocalist for Skid Row while he focuses on his health. Longtime friend and Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale will be taking over vocal duties for the upcoming four concerts. Gronwall has decided that the travel and rigors of the road is not conducive to his overall health and recovery from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and wants to focus on a lifestyle that is more amenable to his well-being, healing and family. It has also been revealed that to celebrate the last two years Gronwall has been with the band, Skid Row will be releasing a live album.

Mark Knopfler's Guitar Heroes recently released the official video for "Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)." The star-studded re-recording of Knopfler's 1983 solo single was released in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America. For the nearly 10-minute new take of the Local Hero theme song, Knopfler joined forces with numerous rock icons, including Queen's Brian May, Bruce Springsteen, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. Guitar Heroes' take on "Going Home" also contains the last ever recording by the late Jeff Beck. The new version also features The Beatles' Ringo Starr on drums, Sting on bass and The Who frontman (and Teenage Cancer Trust patron) Roger Daltrey on harmonica.
The Pretty Reckless are set to provide support for AC/DC on their upcoming European tour. The news was announced earlier this week, when AC/DC shared a poster for their first European tour in eight years, which will feature the Taylor Momsen-fronted band as the only opener on all 24 dates. The tour is slated to kick off on May 17 at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The trek follows AC/DC's 2023 Power Trip performance and marks their first full-length tour since 2016. AC/DC released a new album, Power Up, in 2020. The album featured the reunion of the surviving members of the Back in Black lineup: Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams.

Dierks Bentley recently shared a music video for his cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "American Girl." The video shows Bentley playing Petty's own Rickenbacker guitar, flown in from the rock icon's archives in California for the shoot. The Wes Edwards-directed music video was shot at the Clementine in Nashville, Tennessee, with Bentley teaming up with his band — which includes fellow singer-songwriter Charlie Worsham.
"Holding an instrument that carries so much musical history and significance was surreal, you could almost feel the stories resonate from it as I played it," Bentley said in a press release. "Tom Petty's lyrics and delivery were a huge part of what made his music so impactful."
Black Sabbath have revealed the details of a Tony Martin era box set Anno Domini 1989-1995. The box set focuses on Black Sabbath's time with Martin, the band's second-longest-serving singer. A new collection that brings four albums back into print after an extended absence, Anno Domini 1989-1995 will be available from Rhino on May 31 in 4-LP and 4-CD configurations. The set contains newly remastered versions of Headless Cross (1989), Tyr (1990), and Cross Purposes (1994), plus a new version of Forbidden (1995) that the band's founder and guitarist Tony Iommi remixed specially for the collection.

Joni Mitchell's catalog has been restored to the Spotify streaming services, more than two years after the singer pulled her music from the platform. Mitchell had pulled her catalog from the streaming service in early 2022, in solidarity with Neil Young, citing concerns about the misinformation that was being spread about COVID-19 and the vaccine on Spotify's "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. "I've decided to remove all my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue," Mitchell posted on her official website at the time.
Young recently returned his music to Spotify after the end of Rogan's exclusivity deal with the streaming service

The Rainbow Bar & Grill announced via social media last week that the ashes of late Motorhead legend Lemmy Kilmister will be enshrined at the iconic hangout in West Hollywood on April 19th. A Facebook post by the Rainbow invites fans and attendees to "raise a very unique toast to Lemmy and Motorhead with the unveiling of brand new Motorhead Whiskey." "Please join us as we enshrine Lemmy's ashes at the Rainbow Bar & Grill. We also invite you to raise a very unique toast to Lemmy and Motorhead with the unveiling of brand new Motorhead Whiskey," reads the post. The Rainbow Bar & Grill was one the late musician's favorite haunts, where he used to play the video poker machine regularly.
Longtime Styx bassist Ricky Phillips has announced that he is leaving the band after being a part of it for more than 20 years. "Dear Friends, after touring for 50 years with The Babys, Bad English, opening for Tina Turner (on the Private Dancer tour with John Parr), Belinda Carlisle's first solo tour, rehearsing in Tahoe and recording at Little Mountain in Canada with Jimmy Page and David Coverdale and writing, touring, and co-producing 10/10 with Ronnie Montrose, to name a chosen few... I'm taking a breather," Phillips said in a statement, Phillips made it clear that he is not retiring but just "taking a break from the road." He said he has a commitment to co-produce a project in a studio close to his home. "I've known since I was a kid that live performance is in my blood so, in time I will post any future engagements or commitments," he said. "But for right now, Melissa and I will share coffee talk and meals from home...with our critters close by." Styx released a statement bidding Phillips farewell. "It was a joy to spend two decades with Ricky Phillips in Styx and we wish him all the best in his next adventure," the band said via social media. "He'll always be a part of the Styx family and we'll miss his presence on our stage and in our touring lives."

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder said in a recent interview with Mojo that he sees similarities between Taylor Swift's fans and the punk rock crowds of his youth. Vedder, who said he made it to a Swift concert after one of his daughters convinced him to attend, added that he was immediately impressed by the communal atmosphere surrounding the show. "The run-up to it, making friendship bracelets with her and the generosity of these young girls and boys, trading these bracelets with different messages on them - lyrics, song titles, just acts of goodwill on these little bracelets," Vedder explained in the interview. "They had found their tribe; they were all agreeing on something."

Pink Floyd have announced they will release a Dolby Atmos mix of their tenth studio album, Animals, on Blu-ray and digital formats through Warner Music on May 17. The band said the Animals 2018 Remix - Dolby Atmos, will feature the 2018 remix by their longtime producer James Guthrie as well as High-Resolution stereo and 5.1 mixes alongside the 1977 original stereo mix, and digitally. The upcoming remix will feature new artwork in the digipack format with a 16-page booklet, a sticker and a postcard. The album's iconic cover of a floating pig between two chimneys of the Battersea Power Station, conceived by Roger Waters and designed by Storm Thorgerson, has been reimagined for the new release. The new take, created by Aubrey "Po" Powell and Peter Curzon, still features the pig and the power station but has been modernized with various light projections. According to a press release, with the new mix, "Listeners will feel like they are inside the song as music moves around and above them." The Animals record looked at the social-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain via George Orwell's classic "Animal Farm" that depicted different classes of people as animals. The album, which was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London, peaked at No. 2 in the U.K. and No. 3 in the U.S.
