This just running through my mind What do male VP agents do when F (reader) get catcalling ?? I got that today and it’s just made me frustrated.
For real anon, I’m so sorry this happened to you cause it’s awful when it does. Pls rest assured that no one in the Valorant protocol would let that kinda thing slide. Hope you’re doing okay now xx
Male VP Agents x Fem!Reader: if you get catcalled
Breach
Breach’s care for you is only matched by his explosive personality. As soon as he catches a whiff of a shout or whistle, his eyes flare, veins pop and he just about charges over
“What the hell did you just call her? You feel brave enough to say that to her face? You’re gonna say that to her?”
Of all the agents, probably one of the two most likely to straight up start a fight. He definitely grabs them by the shoulders, and most thinking people would yield and apologise at that point. Otherwise they will end up on the ground. Breach is a seasoned criminal, he doesn’t lose street fights.
Once he’s finally satisfied that the threat is gone, definitely comes back over as fast as he can and his demeanour changes instantly to concerned and gentle.
“You okay? Sorry about that, some people don’t know how to act and it’s bullshit that you have to deal with it. I got you, yeah?” Grabs you in the biggest bear hug, like he’s scared of letting you go.
Brimstone
Whoof they’re about to get disciplined.
As soon as he hears something, he cranes his head over, and anyone who’s said anything will know they’re in for it as soon as they make eye contact
Brim shoots you a quick, reassuring smile and a clap on the back before walking over, calm but imposing
“You-er, say something about my lady friend there champ?”
Anyone who isn’t stupid enough to apologise to the massive figure looming over them is about to get a serious talk. He gives them a chance to let the words sink in, levelling with them about respect and generally not being a dick.
If they still don’t yield or they try to get physical, Brim puts his years of service to use by neatly sending them on their way.
Once he’s back over, he’s fussing over you, ruffling your hair and generally just placing himself between you and the world for a bit.
Chamber
Chamber is not stupid. He knows what’s a compliment and what’s grossly inappropriate.
Seeing you freeze up dislodges something within him
One rendezvous by you, one by them. The catcaller gets a voice right in their ear. “That’s no way to speak to anyone, let alone someone like her. A grave mistake.”
Before they can respond, a flicker sends Chamber right back to you, now standing between you and the caller. His back fully to the guy, he turns to look at you
He’s putting a brave face on it, but you can see the rage prickling quietly behind his eyes. “Let us go, ma belle. They are not worth your time.”
He brings you in for a chaste kiss, arm encircles your waist, and uses the rendezvous for a speedy exit.
The caller will get a shock when they get home to find a business card lodged in their jacket. On the back in an elegant font are the words “fuck off”.
Cypher
With the passive programs he’s constantly running in any public place, Cypher knows the catcaller’s IP address before he turns around.
Having lost loved ones before, Cypher is hyper-alert around you in public. His eyes fix yours, and instantly he sees that this has gotten to you as much as you’re trying to hold it back. His arms go up almost involuntarily to hold your shoulders for a second, makes sure you’re safe, then he turns around to face the asshole
“You should not be talking like that while you have left your second wife Vanessa to look after little Billie and Charlie while you went on a -shall we say- business trip my friend. I am sure Kingdom would not take to kindly to one of their regional branch managers using work time to sleep around in a different city with a younger woman.”
The catcaller is speechless. He looks like he wants to cry
Cypher continues by rattling off his three previous addresses, bank account number (including offshore redirects) and social security number. “The walls have ears my friend. You should shut up more and listen to them.”
He hurries you home after this, and practically doesn’t leave your side for the next week, peppering you with kisses and holding you close at every opportunity
KAY/0
For a moment, as bad as you’re feeling you would have thought Kay/0 had short-circuited. It almost distracts you from the initial shock of being cat-called.
Then you can almost hear his internals whirring as he processes the gravity of the situation. The visualisers start to turn red. You don’t know they did that.
“Uhh… Kay? You doing okay?”
“Negative. Hostile spotted on visual sensors. Preparing to engage.”
“He was just catcalling, I don’t know if…” you trail off. It was pretty shit, actually. This seems to snap Kay/0 out of his spiral for a second, and he takes a moment to grab you and assess your disposition.
Kay holds your shoulders. “Negative. That kind of behaviour is hugely damaging and objectively bullshit. Nothing about that is justifiable. He needs to know, and he needs to never do it again if he values his vitals. Unless you say otherwise, I’m preparing to engage.”
Happy enough for Kay/0 to do his thing at that point, you lean into a quick hug, and watch as the caller starts to bolt it as a literal giant killer robot starts marching towards him. You don’t think he’ll do it again.
Omen
Ohohoho. Ufufufufu. You’re not an easy target, you’re a highly skilled agent. Omen marvels at the fact that people feel entitled to say shit to you, just because you happen to be pretty.
Instantly, his voice is in your ear. “Did you want toooo, or should I…?”
When you don’t offer your usual dry remark, it gets his attention. ‘Shit, this really got to her.’ It almost hadn’t occurred to Omen that you’d be bothered by anyone so insignificant, but as soon as he sees your frustration he’s ready to make it hurt.
He flickers and whirls around you for a second, cupping your cheek in his hands. “A moment please, then.”
Fade may be the resident haunting expert, but Omen is the OG. Suddenly, the catcaller’s world is dark. There are voices in his ears, ranging from whispers to screams. He’s caught off balance, and can’t really do much but stumble around and apologise.
Omen offers a sharp kick to the back to send him on his way, materialising by your side.
“I don’t think he’ll be doing that again, my love. But let’s eat in and have a quiet night tonight.”
Phoenix
“Nah cause did he just say that?”
Phoenix turns to you. “You hear this guy? He said that?” Seeing your deflated expression, this man is pretty livid.
Phoenix’s first instinct is to wrap you tightly, shielding you from the catcaller and calming your racing heart a little. It makes it a whole lot easier to block out the rising stress when your very own solar core is right there.
“Want me to go over there?”
You think for a moment. “Mmhm. Please, if you can…”
Phoenix reluctantly releases you from the embrace, and strolls towards the guy.
“I’m gonna give you ten seconds to give me a good apology that I can relay back to her. Uh-uh, not an excuse. A proper apology. Go.”
The guy legs it, and Phoenix comes back over to you.
“Hey, you right? I got you, yeah? No one talks to you like that, not ever, and especially not on my watch.” He doesn’t stray far from your side after that, getting you back home and ordering in your favourite for a chill night of movies and cuddles.
Sova
Oh you just know that Sova’s keen eyes and hearing have located this guy before you can even comprehend what’s going on.
Immediately, he tenses and looks over to you. Seeing you tense up and grit your teeth only serves to reinforce the quiet rage bubbling up in his chest.
“My love.”
“Sasha”
“This man should be taught a lesson, no?”
“…I think so, yeah.”
“One moment please.” He gives you a quick kiss on the forehead and turns to walk over to the guy.
Towering over the catcaller, he very simply says; “not her. Not anyone. You never know who might be watching.”
This guy is absolutely not going to try your tall, beautiful partner. He bolts.
“Now come, my love. Let me look after you this evening.”
Yoru
So remember how Breach was voted one of two most likely to start a fight? Yeah, here’s the other one.
As soon and I mean as SOON as Yoru hears any kind of bullshit coming from that guy’s mouth, you practically have to hold him back.
“Yoru, my sweet boy, listen to me. You remember what happened last time you got in a fight yeah?”
“Hmm? Yeah they dealt with the hospital.”
“Yoru, Brim dealt with the bill.”
“… So? This guy said shit, you think I’m just gonna stand there and watch you take it? Worst comes to worst, he dies. Back soon.” He presses his lips to yours, brushes your hair out of your eyes, and then jogs over to the guy with a none-too-friendly look on his face
God forbid the guy try to square up. If he does, Yoru has him on the ground embarrassingly quickly.
Satisfied with his work, Yoru brushes himself off and flashes back to you. You can tell by his heaving shoulders that he’s still furious, and when you wrap your arms around him he draws you into a fierce hug.
The two of you let your heart rates settle back in, as Yoru slowly relaxes back into your embrace
“Ryo..? You doing okay there buddy?”
“Yeah. I just… hate that people think they can talk to you like that. I’ll make sure it never happens again.”

Unrequested Assist
Tumblr media
Summary - A crowded Chicago bar on a Friday night was the last place Hailey wanted to be but she had promised Vanessa. And the guy that kept trying to hit on her when she clearly wasn’t interested just added to her regret of agreeing to go out.
Until a stranger interrupts and offers her the most welcome unrequested assist, maybe the night could still turn around after all. AO3 Link
This guy could not take a hint, Hailey thought as she pulled her body back as far away from him as she could. She was somewhat limited by the busyness of the bar but still, anyone with two brain cells to rub together should understand that she did not want to be chatted up tonight. In fact, she didn’t even want to be here. But Vanessa had insisted and she had already bailed on her roommate more times than she was able to count in the last few weeks - grad school was far more intense than Hailey had anticipated.
So here she was, in an overcrowded, overpriced bar in downtown Chicago on a Friday night - the exact ingredients that would lead to a hurt head, sticky shoes and possible regrets the next morning. But Vanessa seemed happy. She was currently dancing with a black guy whose broad shoulders meant he took up enough space for almost two people and Vanessa was doing her best to rub her hands up and down every inch of them. He looked familiar but Hailey couldn’t quite place him, maybe he was someone from school? Ken? Keith? Names and faces were not her forte but the man in question looked just as happy with his choice of dancing partner as Vanessa did.
‘So do you come here often?’ Hailey audibly groaned at the awful attempt at a chat up line. The sweaty guy who was in desperate need of a shower was clearly inept at reading body language. She was about to shift another inch to the left before realising that would mean she would end up on her arse as she was currently sitting on the tiniest sliver of the bar stool.
Feigning deafness, it was loud in here after all, Hailey took another sip of her beer and kept her gaze firmly ahead. Maybe he’d just get bored and leave her the hell alone.
It wasn’t that Hailey didn’t like to be flirted with and for sure with the right guy at the right time, she was all up for it. But tonight was not that.
It had only been 6 weeks since she had broken up with Garrett. Or more accurately, since he had walked out of their shared apartment together and left her alone.
She had thought he was it. The person she was going to spend the rest of her life with. She had thanked her lucky stars that on her first day at Law School, she had sat next to him in class, he had complimented her Bears jersey and she had never had to go through the trials and tribulations of modern day dating. They had fallen in love quickly, Garrett uttering the 3 magic words just 2 months in and Hailey echoing them immediately.
After their first year of school had ended, they had decided to get an apartment together and Hailey had assumed the next step in their relationship would be a ring on her finger and a trip to city hall, neither wanting the big white wedding you saw in the magazines. They had discussed it all, how many kids they wanted (2), if they wanted a cat or a dog (a dog), if they wanted to live in the city or move to the suburbs (city until the kids were a little older than out to the suburbs to benefit from the better schools). And yet none of that had happened.
He had left her. Alone. With a two bedroom apartment she already struggled to pay half the rent for. Luckily her only other friend at school, a bright spunky girl by the name of Vanessa, had also needed somewhere to stay and she had moved in the same week and relieved some of the burden, at least the financial burden, of being newly single.
He had uttered little to no explanation, just saying he didn’t feel the same about her anymore and needed his space. What kind of shit-man-brain excuse was that, Vanessa had said when Hailey had replayed the events to her.
A tiny part of Hailey was thankful, thankful he had ended it if he truly didn’t feel that way about her anymore. As much as she wanted to marry him, have his children and spend the rest of her life at his side, she didn’t want to end up in a loveless marriage. She was a child of one of those and it was a painful experience for all involved.
Vanessa had done all she could the past few weeks to bring Hailey back to her old self and not the miserable version who only wore oversized hoodies, ate copious amounts of cheese straight from the packet and moped around the apartment, all her spark having vanished. And Hailey loved her for it. Even if at this exact moment in time she was having strongly mixed feelings as the foul smelling breath of her wanna be date breezed past her face.
‘You deaf girl? I was talking to you?’ He said, his previously calm and even sweet tone being replaced with something far more angry. It made the hairs on Hailey’s arms stand on end.
‘I think she heard perfectly well, pal, my girl just doesn’t want to talk to you,’ a honey smooth voice entered the conversation and a heavy arm wrapped around her shoulders. For a brief second Hailey panicked, a stranger was touching her without her permission and she most certainly was not okay with it. But just as she was about to shrug him off and make a swift exit, grabbing Vanessa as she did, the greasy guy apologised quickly and moved away.
‘Sorry for the unrequested assist,’ her saviour said, removing his arm as quickly as he had placed it there. ‘You just seemed fiercely uninterested and the idiot couldn’t take the hint.’
Hailey turned around to face him and nearly spat out her drink, which would have been a shame on multiple accounts. Firstly, his white t-shirt would have paid the price with a hideous beer stain, and secondly, he was gorgeous. As in teen movie star, hang a poster on your bedroom wall and kiss it every night before bed gorgeous. It took all of Hailey’s jaw muscles to stop her mouth from hanging open as she took him in.
He was tall, Hailey would peg him at just over 6 foot tall if she had to guess. Well built, but not huge. Like he knew which weights to lift in the gym to make him look good but not out of proportion. His dark hair was slicked back into a smart hairstyle, one appropriate for a police officer or a teacher but Hailey could see thanks to the heat of their current location, it had started to reveal its natural curl. But it was his eyes that were making her lose her cool. They were emerald green, dark and bright at the same time and she knew if she looked at them for any longer she might be tempted to say something she would regret in the morning.
‘No,’ Hailey said, more to herself but when the strangers faced looked puzzled she shook her head lightly and corrected herself. ‘What I meant to say is thank you, for the assist,’ she clarified.
‘You’re welcome,’ he said and Hailey added his smile to the reasons this man was far too beautiful to comprehend. If she had had more than one beer tonight she might blame her current lack of cohesive thoughts on that, but she hadn’t, so she couldn’t. It was all him that was making her tongue tied.
‘Can I buy you a drink to say thanks?’ She asked when she realised she hadn’t said anything for at least 45 seconds. Way to make things awkward, Hailey, she scolded herself.
‘I’m not one to say no when a pretty girl offers to buy me a drink,’ he said, slightly cheekily but it was working for him.
‘A beer okay?’ She asked, flagging down the nearest barman.
‘Perfect,’ he said with a little wink and Hailey felt her stomach tighten. Cheekiness and winking were not usually two characteristics that made her want to drag a man into the back and have her way with him. But on this guy, if they weren’t in a public place and she didn’t have an early start at the restaurant tomorrow, she would be climbing him right now instead of offering him a drink.
Handing him the drink over the bar, she did her best not to spill it all over him, although the condensation sliding down the bottle made that task a little trickier.
‘So…’ Hailey said, leaving a pause for the stranger to add his name.
‘Jay,’ he said, taking a sip of his beer, never taking his eyes off her as he did so.
‘So Jay, what brings you here on this glorious Friday night?’ She asked, aware it was a bit of a cheesy line but he didn’t seem to mind judging by the grin on his face.
‘Well…’ he matched her by leaving a gap in which she added her name. ‘Well Hailey, my brother asked me, or more like dragged me along but he blew me off as soon as his girl texted him. I was about to head off before, no fun letting off steam by yourself.’
‘What steam are you letting off?’ Hailey asked, intrigued by the man in front of her. They were having to speak a little loudly to hear each other over the music, but the loud beat wasn’t bothering her as much as it had been a moment ago.
‘New job,’ Jay shrugged lightly. ‘New sergeant is hard work and I’m not sure where I stand.’
‘Sergeant?’
‘I’m a cop.’
‘Oh,’ Hailey had let out the sound before she could stop herself and she saw the change in Jay’s features almost immediately.
‘Not a fan of the police?’ He asked, the flirty edge to his voice had vanished and Hailey wondered how many times he had had this same conversation and how many people had simply shut down after hearing his profession.
‘Not that,’ she shook her head quickly. ‘Just not a fan of coincidences.’ When Jay raised an eyebrow in question she added, ‘I’m a grad student at law school.’
The sparkle returned to Jay’s eyes almost immediately, ‘so if I have any law related queries on the job, I can give you a call?’ He smirked.
‘Is that you asking for my number?’ Hailey quipped back.
‘Was it too subtle?’
‘No, I think I got it,’ she smirked. ‘Give me your phone.’
She entered her digits into his phone and saved it - ‘Hailey the Lawyer to be’.
‘Nice,’ he said, noticing the contact name with a grin. Hailey felt her phone vibrate in her pocket as he sent her a text so she had his number too.
‘Do you want to dance?’ He asked after pocketing his phone. ‘Or go somewhere quieter to chat?’
‘Is somewhere quieter to chat, code for back to your place?’ Hailey sassed.
‘I mean, it can be if you want. But I’d also like to continue to get to know you, and we can do that on neutral ground if it makes you more comfortable,’ he said honestly and Hailey was taken aback. It was something men didn’t often consider, the risks associated with being a woman and agreeing to go back to a stranger's place. She was touched that Jay had thought of such a thing, but she was struck by the reasons that he probably had. She could have imagined he had seen some things in his time on the force.
Hailey was comfortable enough with him already, more than she should be for the minimal conversation they had exchanged, but still somewhere public was probably the smarter option.
‘Let me go tell my friend I’m heading off, then you can take me to the diner on Rush. I could go for a plate of curly fries about now,’ she grinned, making a move to get up off the stool but Jay pulled a face at her comment.
‘Curly fries a deal breaker for you?’ She asked.
‘Depends,’ Jay said, ‘Mayo or ketchup?’
‘Ketchup obviously,’ Hailey said, folding her arms over dramatically.
‘Deal is still on the table then Hailey,’ he winked and Hailey felt a warmth spread somewhere below her belt.
‘Perfect,’ she said, getting up to head over towards Vanessa. She wasn’t sure her friend would have noticed if she’d have disappeared anyway, she seemed far too wrapped up in the man she was currently wrapped around. Kieran? Kevin?
——————————————————————————
Picking a booth a couple away from the door, Hailey slid into the seat first and Jay sat opposite. He shifted in his seat slightly, eyes darting around the room uncomfortably.
‘You okay?’ Hailey asked, curious about his sudden change in behaviour.
‘Just not a fan of having my back to the door,’ Jay admitted and Hailey immediately stood up. ‘No, it’s fine,’ he said quickly as she gestured for them to swap.
‘Jay,’ Hailey said firmly. ‘If you’d prefer to face the door, then please face the door.’
‘Thank you,’ he said, a hint of embarrassment crossing his cheeks but Hailey didn’t comment on it. There was clearly a reason behind his request, but not one he openly wanted to talk about and Hailey wasn’t going to pry. Goodness knows she had her own reasons about things she did, and not ones you tended to reveal to someone who was a stranger less than an hour ago.
The conversation flowed easily once they had swapped seats. Stopping only to order a plate of curly fries, Hailey insisting they could share, and a couple of sodas. Jay told her more about his job, how his new role was in one of the specialist units of the Chicago Police Department. Hailey could tell he was proud but was also the kind of person who kept their own accomplishments under wraps. She learnt how he ended up in the police force after enlisting straight out of high school, how his father was never impressed with his son's choice of career. Her heart clenched when he told her how he’d come home from his last tour to help his mom when she got ill. She reached across to rest her hand atop his when his voice caught when talking about his mom.
‘Enough about me,’ he said, clearing his throat. ‘Tell me how you ended up in Law School.’
Hailey didn’t mind the redirect, she imagined he didn’t usually open up to people about losing his mom so young.
‘Well initially it was the plan because it was what my father wanted me to do,’ she said, dipping one of the fries in ketchup before popping it in her mouth. ‘Stupid part of me wanted his approval, I guess I still do,’ she admitted.
‘Why is that stupid?’ Jay asked, ‘Don’t most people want their parents' approval on some level?’
‘I guess,’ she shrugged. ‘We don’t exactly have the best relationship, never have.’
‘Oh,’ Jay said apologetically, ‘I’m sorry for pushing.’ But she waved away his apology with her hand.
‘You didn’t, it’s okay,’ she smiled softly. ‘Luckily I love my course so even though it was originally just because he wanted me to do it. I’m not doing it for him anymore. It’s for me.’ She said proudly. ‘I haven’t even spoken to him in the time since I enrolled.’
‘What kind of law do you want to go into?’ Jay asked, and Hailey smiled, appreciating him not digging further about her father.
‘Family Law,’ Hailey said. ‘Less of the prenup negotiations but helping with child custody issues. People always seem to forget that kids have emotions and opinions in those situations, and I want to make sure they get a voice and are heard. May end up side stepping into child advocacy but we will see how it goes.’
‘That’s a good goal, admirable,’ Jay said with a warm smile.
‘So you’re not one of those cops who hates lawyers?’ She asked with a grin, taking the opportunity to pop a few more of the curly fries into her mouth. This place really did serve the best ones in the city.
‘I mean sure, some get in our way,’ Jay admitted, smirking at her across the booth. ‘But I appreciate those who are looking out for those who can’t look out for themselves, kids or people who get caught on the wrong side of things. Not everyone who breaks the law does it out of choice - a lot of cops forget that.’
‘Sounds like we’ve both got our reasons,’ she said, noticing that his comment seemed more specific than a broad generalisation.
‘I had a friend once, had a tough time integrating back into civilian life when he left the army,’ Jay began, and taking a deep breath he continued. ‘He got mixed up with some bad stuff when he got back, but it wasn’t as black and white as right and wrong. Stuff happens overseas, stuff that affects you, even when you’re back home, and Mouse really suffered with it. I channelled it one way, and he went another - doesn’t mean he wanted to be where he ended up.’
‘I got him on side in the end, signed him as a CI and now his record is clear. But it could just have easily been a black mark against him his entire life, a shadow following him around reminding of the times he made a mistake.’ Hailey was taken aback how honest he was being, but she appreciated it. Suddenly his actions tonight made a bit more sense, helping people in trouble was in his nature, be it a friend or a stranger, he wanted to help if he could.
‘He’s lucky to have a friend like you,’ she mused out loud.
‘I’m lucky to have him,’ Jay said quietly, ‘not sure I’d have made it home if I didn’t.’
It was raw and honest.
‘Got to keep hold of the good friends,’ Hailey said offhandedly.
‘That girl you were with at the club, she one of those friends?’ Jay asked, taking a long draft from his drink.
‘Yeah, that’s Vanessa,’ Hailey smiled as she thought of her friend. ‘She’s my ride or die. Knows me better than I know myself, and won’t let me forget it.’ She chuckled.
‘Excuse me dears, I need to cash up, do you mind?’ The kind faced waitress who had brought them their food earlier appeared with their cheque in her hand.
‘Of course not,’ Hailey said, reaching into her pocket for her bank card.
‘I’ll get it,’ Jay said, handing over a couple of notes which Hailey knew would more than cover their total with enough for the inconvenience of them being the last ones in the empty diner.
‘I can pay,’ Hailey said but Jay shook his head lightly.
‘I know you can, but I’d like it if I could treat you,’ he said honestly.
‘Can’t say no to that deary,’ the waitress said with a smile and a wink before she headed back to the cash register.
‘Thank you,’ she said warmly, and she meant it.
‘I can walk you back to yours?’ Jay asked as they got ready to leave, they had already overstayed their welcome and the waitress was clearly ready to go home for the night.
‘That would be appreciated,’ she said as they headed towards the door, throwing an additional thank you to the waitress as they walked out.
Hailey’s apartment was only a couple of blocks from the diner, hence why she knew it served the best curly fries - she was a regular. They strolled together, pleasant conversation easily flowing between them as their arms brushed together with more and more frequency as they got closer to her building.
‘This is me,’ she said, a hint of reluctance to leave the situation in her voice.
‘Well, thank you for a lovely evening Hailey,’ Jay said, taking a small step forward, letting his fingers brush against hers.
‘Ditto,’ Hailey breathed, taking a step forward herself and linking her fingers with his.
She didn’t know who made the first move, she had been intending to but he might have gotten there first. It didn’t matter though, his lips were on hers and their bodies were flush together. It wasn’t an awkward first kiss with clashes of teeth and bumping heads, it was as if she had been kissing him her entire life. Her lips melded to his perfectly and when he softly ran his tongue across the seam of her lips, she opened them willingly, letting their tongues dance together. Her fingers tangled into his hair, keeping his mouth firmly on hers.
His own hands had found a place on her waist, one snaking its way across her back, his palm large against her petite frame, the other brushing against a sliver of bare skin between her top and jeans.
Remembering suddenly they were standing on a public sidewalk, she pulled back slightly, looking up at him through her lashes. His lips were swollen and his hair was messed up thanks to her musings.
‘I’d like to see you again,’ he said quietly, his mouth only inches from hers. ‘If you’d like that.’
‘I would like that,’ she said, letting her eyes drift down to his lips again and pressing up her tiptoes to place a chaste kiss against his lips.
‘I’ll call you tomorrow?’ Jay breathed out when she pulled back a second time.
‘I look forward to it,’ she said, backing up towards her door, keeping their fingers linked for as long as she could before they fell apart. She smiled as she pulled out her key card and let herself into her building, glancing back over her shoulder to see Jay running a hand through his hair, a smile still tugging at his cheeks too. She gave him a little wave as she headed towards the elevator.
It wasn’t the way Hailey had thought her evening would pan out. But sometimes life throws you a curveball. And sometimes that curveball is a handsome police officer who appears with an unrequested assist and the evening turns into something you’d never expected but wouldn’t have changed for anything.

.......Oh buddy...... I believe u've got some tea to spill, >:3
lol.... anyway u call? :P
YAYY OK SO. (side note i only just came up with this today so its not THATt fleshed out but ive been thinking about it like all day so i have many ideas)
so like. it all starts w vanessa. basically when she was really young her parents worked for fazcorp technologies (au equivalent of oscorp) and idk. they die for reasons related to their work there. Who knows whatever its really not important to the au. anyway so vanessas parents r dead now and she moves in with her aunt and uncle in typical spider-man fashion ykyk. eventually shes grown up and when shes in college shes becomes an intern at fazcorp technologies' lab. at the end of her internship she secretly goes to the main room where theyre genetically modifying animals. i guess shes curious bc thats what her parents had been working on before they died. she mainly notices the giant tube of spiders they were working on and she ends up walking right up to the spiders, to take a look and as she gets really close, one crawls on her and bites her. she didnt realize she got bit but thats what makes her get out of there. Anddd thats how nessa becomes spider-van (working name) :3
shes the citys 1 and only spider-van for maybeee 4 years after that point? she graduated just a couple of months after grtting spider powers. also she lives with tape girl btw and they were roommates in college too. after like the first year tape girl (i havent named her yet siiighh) finds out ness is spidervan and she basically becomes her tech assistant. her girl in the chair if u will
anyway so ness has been spidervan for 4 years at this point. and then theres gregory who is just some guy rn :3 hes not spidey yet . one day he and cassie r on a class field trip to the fazcorp tech lab and they get bored so they sneak off and end up in a room with a bunch of different genetically engineered spiders in their own little boxes but one of them is Not in the box bc ig aomeone forgot to close it. andd it bites gregory and greg feels it but he doesnt see it but cassie DID see it and they start freaking out . its kinda funny. andthey do not take him to a hospital nor tell anyone bc they r dumb teenagers and he "feels fine" . so whatevsss they sneak back to where everyone else was on the field trip. andd then they just go home like nothing happened. until the next day when suddenly gregs spider powers manifest and cause HELL at school. yada yada he now has powers and no clue what hes doing with them
ANYWAY SOOO soon enough something happens and gregory meets spider-van by pure chance and she realizes that somehow this kid has pretty much the same powers as her (they got bit by different kinds of spiders so theyre not identical powers) and she offers to teach him how to control his powers so theyre not messing things up all over the place which turns into a mentorship of sorts and that evolves into him becoming a hero right with her ^_^
Tumblr media
^theyre like this to me
fun little heroic spider duo adventures ensue from then on. saving the city and such. UHH THATS ALL FOLKS!! ok well thats all i can think of to say for now. thats all [the relevant background information] folks!!

Wee introduction post!
SO. Let's go.
I'm starting this blog with a little overview of the OCs who are most present in my head these days. I (more or less) recently drew a shiny line up that I still like, after all, so why not use it?
Tumblr media
I tried to get their heights somewhat right, give or take a few inches... I'll put their heights into the descriptions, too, though, for anyone (like me) who cares about these details. :)
Tumblr media
Avery Constance St. James (*April 1st 1995 in New York City, USA; 5'2 ft / 1,57 m): a small but fierce pharmacist who lost her heart to an irresistably lively Irishman in 2022 (who refused to give it back), and who now juggles being a loving mama and thriving in her usual chaos.
Daryl Louis McKenna (*February 6th 1993 in Galway, Ireland; 5'9 ft / 1,75 m): rockstar scientist (biochemistry) and former drug abusing idiot who recently got engaged to Avery - a special lady he just happened to find when he wasn't looking, and who unexpectedly found his greatest joy in fatherhood.
Dexter Linus St. James (*August 11th 2023, in New York City, USA): a tiny Irish-American hybrid - the son of Daryl and Avery. Named after Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory and Linus Pauling.
Tumblr media
Orla Deirdre O'Connell (*October 28th 1992 in Galway, Ireland; 5'9 ft / 1,75 m): an eccentric tattoo artist who appreciates the most beautiful things in life and who believes in love and classic romance like no other. Grew up with three brothers - Malachy (*1980-2006), Kieran (*1985) and her twin Declan, and thus handles life like a lady, but never without the appropriate dash of assertiveness.
Michael Theodore "Mick" O'Loughlin (*December 22nd 1992 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 6'5 ft / 1,96 m): a tall and elvenlike fella who stems from an ancient bloodline of highly fascinating individuals and who may have a supernatural streak to him. Motor mechanic in everyday life and a curious and whimsical guy overall, with soulful green eyes that effortlessly see behind the things others would not even dare to question.
Alistair Lachlan "Ali/Al" Abbott (*May 28th 1993 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 6'4 ft / 1,93 m): an eccentric weirdo, very charming and always a little clueless, with a heart of gold. A former rising football star who had to give up that particular dream to an unfortunate injury, and a surprise teenage dad who loves his friends and longs to meet the love of his life; who waits tables in a restaurant by day and woos ladies - who are willing to pay for his services - by night.
Lancelot Malcolm "Lance" Abbott (*July 27th 1988 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 5'4 ft / 1,63 m): a true force of nature, a capable internist, strong-willed and assertive (some would say stubborn) confident and outspoken, sometimes on the brink of being plain rude. An intelligent and complex person who may be a pain in the arse at times, but who knows what is right and important in life... such as suppressing some long lasting issues, ah, haha, oh well.
Tumblr media
Maisie Rose Boyd (*June 11th 2011 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 5'0 ft / 1,52 m): the surprise love child of teenage parents Ali Abbott and Nessa Boyd, who is growing into a sweet and caring young lady these days.
Vanessa Christine "Nessa/Ness" Boyd (*January 14th 1993 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 5'2 ft / 1,57 m): a young and smart psychology graduate who is eager to finally start her career that she had to postpone due to becoming a mother at only eighteen. Gentle and kind, but also very straightforward, never taking crap from anyone and showing bluntness in just the right moments.
Tumblr media
Caroline Miriam "Carrie" Anderson (*August 2nd 1987 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 5'4 ft / 1,63 m): a somewhat restless soul, always looking for something while never quite knowing what that something is. One hell of a doctor. Caring, not making any differences between people, and eager to look behind a facade... and entertaining the thought of running her own practice soon!
Dallas Ariston Gray (*October 22nd 1987 in Glasgow, Scotland; 6'4 ft / 1,93 m): a half-Greek, hunkalicious metal lord with a voice from both heaven and hell, a primary school teacher, musician and not quite your average nice guy from next door - the unhingedness may be subtle, but it's so, so there.
Fiona Annabel "Fi" Christie (*March 4th 1994 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 6'0 ft / 1,82 m): a truly delightful creature with many talents, drawing people in with her... everything. A hairdresser and make up artist, a dancer (classic ballet, jazz, as well as adult entertainment) and a gentle soul. Her optimism may make her look naive at times, but
Tumblr media
Jean Melissa "Melissa" Carter (*June 1st 1985 in Calgary, Canada; 6'3 ft / 1,90 m): a creative director at a local ad agency... who clicks on suspicious links in spam mails and who forgets to check whether she has enough gas before she drives distances… and strands in the middle of nowhere. May seem scatterbrained but is incredibly loveable and the apple of the eye of her wife, Donna.
Donna Yvaine Christie (*January 3rd 1985 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 5'9 ft / 1,74 m): older and slightly (read as: not so slightly) overbearing sister of Fiona. Has her heart at the right spot but is also used to success and getting what she wants, which makes her a little insensitive and even tactless at times; still often fails to understand that "not doing things her way" isn’t necessarily the same as "doing things the wrong way".
Graeme "Sully" Sullivan (*September 7th 1986 in Perth, Scotland; 5'11 ft /1,80 m): an incredibly creative person all around who has known his goal pretty early in life - making the world a brighter, more colourful place! Owner of a tattoo studio in town - "The Den Of Tallulah Banks" - which isn’t just a tattoo studio, but also a place where creatives can get together and local artists from town can exhibit their works without paying annoying fees.
Tumblr media
Hallie Henderson (*April 2nd 1988 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 5'7 ft / 1,70 m): a music journalist, writing for the popular UK/Ireland based magazine "Grot Spot". Interested in pretty much anything, believes in people. Very gentle and caring... and just a little bit weird. Loves life but doesn't close her eyes to the crappy aspects of it. A realistic optimist who is far from naive but maybe a bit too forgiving sometimes.
Jett Jones (*January 15th 1984, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England; 6'2 ft / 1,87 m): Hallie's friend and fellow Grot Spot writer. A Geordie beauty who never met her real parents but couldn't care less, as the lovely Joneses raised her well. Outspoken and blunt, appears to be afraid of nothing. Never refills the office coffee pot and would most likely survive a zombie apocalypse. Treasures her heart and shares her real name with hardly anybody.
---
And, as a bonus...
1984
Tumblr media
Craig Diarmid Abbott (*October 8th 1962 in Liverpool, England | † June 2006 in Aberdeen, Scotland; 6'4 ft / 1,92 m)
Sofia Elena Jacinta Abbott, nee Thomson (*February 11th 1956 in Mexico City, Mexico; 5'8 ft / 1,73 m)
... parents of Lance and Ali, who have their own story back in the eighties!

Soft ask: 19 with Vanessa and Lucy
This took forever, but ta da! <3
19- Write about your ship going on a casual date.
One of the many perks of touring with the most popular death metal band on the planet was being able to easily convince Charles to make sure there was time to be able to play tourist after each show. Dethklok had that kind of luxury, and with the amount of women that had rainbow hair now because of Lucy’s influence, she could blend into a crowd just by putting her hair up and adding lipstick to her makeup routine.
That was part of how Lucy and Vanessa found themselves very stoned on 6th Street in Austin at Hoeks Death Metal Pizza after a day of hitting vintage stores and going to one of Lucy's favorite spas. Vanessa happened to have a little chunk of time where Lucy could fly her out for a weekend getaway, and she had been wanting to show Vanessa some of her favorite haunts in her birth city that she was slowly but surely getting reacquainted with.
The two of them stood against the brick wall across from the counter, trying to decide on exactly what they wanted. The giant slices seemed like more of a commitment than they might have if the OG Kush hadn't set in.
"Pepperoni?" Lucy asked, desperately wanting something with meat on it.
"Mmm, maybe," Making a decision sounded like a lot to Vanessa right now.
"Steak, onion, and mushroom?" Lucy tried again.
Vanessa wrinkled her nose, "I'm feeling something more…" She trailed off looking at the different pizzas, "How about Hawaiian?"
A grin formed on Lucy's face, "That's it, that's the one."
Relief washed over Vanessa as Lucy ordered, being hungry while making a decision about food was a special level of Hell.
Lucy walked back over to Vanessa and leaned against her with an arm around her, Vanessa following suit and doing the same to Lucy.
Lucy looked up to meet Vanessa’s eyes, “Don’t you usually hate pineapple on pizza?”
Vanessa smirked at her, “I have to be in a certain mood for it.”

They peered around the back of the vehicle.
“Why are the police still here?!” Gregory barked, “You said if we wait until nightfall they would be gone!”
Lefty watched through his binoculars, “Normally they would have left by nightfall. They look like they’re guarding the sight overnight,” Lefty observed, “I’m willing to bet they won’t let us in.”
“We have to get in!” Gregory yelled with urgency, “What about Cassie?! She could be injured! If that thing is as bad as you say then she could be badly hurt!”
“We aren’t leaving her Gregory!” Vanessa shook her head, “We need a way in and the cops are guarding the only entrance.”
“Smells like that stupid Detective again.”
“Night, Larson is not stupid-” Lefty spoke.
“He is constantly interfering when we tell him not to, I understand he’s a member of the city’s police force but he needlessly puts himself in danger, he makes himself a target from these monsters, not only that but we have to protect his ass from the monsters he doesn’t fully understand. He will not let us in, so we’ll have to be a little creative with a distraction, long enough for us to run in,” Nightmarionne tapped his chin, “By chance, do you still have those confetti bombs?”
“Yes I do,” Lefty opened his satchel and passed a small rounded ball to him.
“Alright.”
“Ah- Night don’t throw it at those officers!”
“I’m not, it just needs to be close enough to attract their attention,” Nightmarionne angled it away, closing one eyes to get an idea of distance, a few moments hesitating before throwing it up high, it arced over to the side of the plex and landed, then subsequently exploded in a loud bang and bright flash of light and color.
“What the hell was that?!” The two officers immediately turned towards it, seeing a small swirl of smoke from the direction, they slowly approached the area, giving an opening window.
Nightmarionne sprinted, followed by Lefty who carried his large satchel, Glamrock Freddy who lifted up Gregory and followed behind them, and lastly Vanessa who regretted not drinking another cup of coffee.
Nightmarionne jumped up onto the scaffolding above their head, once up, Lefty jumped up, pulling himself up, Freddy held up Gregory to him, realizing it was dangerous to throw him upwards, Lefty grabbed his hands and pulled him upwards, Freddy then stayed for an extra moment to boost Vanessa up so she could grab onto the side.
He then stood there for a minute, recalling he was not good at jumping, and the platform was at least a ten foot off the ground and there was no ladder to get up.
Seeing him standing there, Lefty extended both of his hands, “Come on,” He called, “Hurry up, they’ll come back.”
Trusting him, Freddy jumped up a little and extended out both hands, Lefty immediately grabbed him and pulled him upwards, looking to the side and seeing the flash light of the policemen returning, he pulled him quickly to his feet.
“In!!” Vanessa quietly shouted, disappearing inside the big glass opening inside, Nightmarionne ducked his head to get inside, then Gregory stepped inside, Freddy followed behind quietly, then Lefty.
They were inside.
It was a different experience.
Graffiti on every wall, muddy footprints, oil stains, the pink paint peeling off the walls, the posters ripped and torn, the main neon sign above the ticket counter hanging loosely, looking like it would fall at any moment, food scraps and garbage littered on the ground, the air smelt damp and even mouldy which didn’t surprise them.
They all stepped on the broken glass, judging by the crunching below their feet, obviously the windows were broken by something or someone.
“Alright, this is your absolute last chance to turn around,” Nightmarionne spoke, drawing out his sickles from his waist and spinning them in his palms, he had already said this exact thing three previous times but his tone was much more serious than before. “This is the point of no return. If we all go ahead, we go to the end, we may have to fight our way back out, getting in is easy, getting out is harder. Lefty I know you’ll stick around, as for you three, you can still leave if you wish.”
“Cassie is my friend,” Gregory said, “This is my fault, I have to come.”
“I have a lot to make up for,” Vanessa replied, “This is how I’ll start.”
“And I’m here both for Gregory and my friends, I won’t leave,” Freddy answered.
“So that settles it,” Nightmarionne clanged his sickles together, “Time to tango with the devil,” Nightmarionne jumped down, Lefty followed behind, Freddy lifted up Gregory and jumped down, while Vanessa carefully slid down, aware she had bones and not an unbreakable endoskeleton or whatever Nightmarionne’s body was made of.
“You know our rules Lefty, watch your back, check your left and right, check behind, watch the doors, bright light is our friend, listen carefully, trust your gut, and never be alone.”
“And the final rule, watch out for our human company,” Lefty said, “Let’s go get Cassie.”

Hey author! Since it was my birthday today I wanted to send in this ask to all my favourite blogs lol.
How would the ROs celebrate MC's birthday? How will they plan for it before they get together (crushing stage) and after they get together?
Omg HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!
Tumblr media
I’m one of your favorites.
Tumblr media
Where ya at that’s an immediate bear hug. RIGHT THERE. (Jk. I swore to someone that they get a bear hug before anyone else. So you be like 6or 7 on the list. But hey your there. But Vanessa will be before you so crap where did I write that down. Ah your after Nikki no no Jessica no was it Greg. No it was Justin. Ah it was Jessica my mistake. Your after Jessica . Got it so my mom. The one i promised to hug regardless of time or place. Vanessa. Chan, Nikki, Jessica, and finally you. Ok remember your place. (If your name here that was a lucky guess. Vanessa or hey Batman got on the list when that request of Vanessa prompts came about. Chan or Second chance asked because when he or I get married we meet so 🤣. Nikki I think that’s right. Got it with the bear gif. Like yes!!! Hello there Friend. 😁.
Now onto our ROs 👏 (I’m going to do it in parts as the list is wonderful.)
Alice: Is not really a big fan of huge party especially for birthdays. So it would be very small with close friends and family. In crushing stage she would do a private dinner. But in a relationship she would take Mc to where she went with her dad. A over look of the city and meals she and everyone made.
Helena: crush stage: ok so depending on the Mc this will change. Helena would get the Mc favorite band or singer they like for a private concert or get vip tickets to go to the concert. Relationship stage: Helena will do a underwater ship cruise.(this is one of the harder things to get.) Helena has already done them but wants to share the experience with the Mc.
Lisa: Don’t laugh. Crush stage: It would be art classes or pottery classes. She would want to share something that’s apart of her. Oh and the Mc gets to eat Lisa cookies. Relationship: Have you ever wanted to do body paint.(it’s happening.) And paintball fights with friends that too.
Becca: Beach trip or to the lake house. 🤷‍♀️ girl wants me time no one else. But doesn’t mean she won’t surprise the Mc with a cake and friends. She’s not friends with many people but as long as Mc is happy she’s happy.
Daniella: She will get Noah’s number and set up a dinner or lunch. Ask Mc to look after her son. Will get everyone in on it yes Becca I see you. And when Mc comes back every one is caught do one thing or another. So everyone cooks together and it becomes a thing. Although Noah is forbidden from the stove same with Scott and Lena.
Vanessa: Musumes or Art gallery than theater is also an option. Vanessa will have a picnic basket to. (Yes she like picnics. So just where will be y’all’s spot) Will be happy so very happy as birthdays are special. Will definitely strive to get a laugh out of the Mc.
Azalea: (doesn’t know what a birthday is. Yeah I know.) in crush stage would do a metal work as a gift. Would even get Mc into doing it. In relationship: Azalea would do a ritual If the Mc wanted to see the world how they see it.
Kent: Alright let’s get this right. Kent would do a breakfast in bed. Basically anything the Mc wants to do he will do.
Naamah: MCs Birthday is all about them. She will do the pampering treatment and everything.(could she have servants do this. Well yes but she wants to do. To show how much she loves and what the Mc means to her.)
Blaze: two words.Time travel. Man is going to zoom with Mc to anytime they want to go to. You want to reenact a historical event. See a historical figure or just say you ate during a battle and watched it. (Hell yeah Blaze is all for it.)
Zero: Zeros gift is unorthodox. It’s simply an outer body experience. In a robotic body. It’s not permanent don’t worry Zero has tested this many times.
Red Flag RO: Sex. Biting blood. Hmmm 🤔 You get your own blood bag.(person) She would also get you to see world with her daughter is at.
Rune: big party. Like the hugest you’ve ever seen. And a beautiful necklace with matching rings. Rune would get her own alcohol she makes to and just say no one walking away without a headache.

Prompt on Vannesa having PTSD while heading to bed
And last but not least, tumblr generated prompt 22! Thanks to everyone who submitted a number! It felt really good to get some more of these written!
Warnings for this one (other than a serving of angst/hurt no comfort) include a panic attack and a real quick mention of Vanessa digging her nails into her arms hard enough to make herself bleed.
The War is Over (Isn’t It?)
After everything—after the questioning and showing the cops the underground pizzeria and going to the hospital and finally finally waking up with her mind fully clear and her own, with only a small, neatly stitched scar to show for it—Vanessa stood at the foot of her bed and couldn’t bring herself to lay down.
It wasn’t a matter of not being tired. She was exhausted, had been tired down to her bones for months now. Over the past few days, her conscience had been cleared, her freedom returned to her, and never again would she be some half-dead maniac’s puppet. She had been pushed to her limits and had come out the other side, not just intact but victorious. By all accounts, she should fall into her freshly washed sheets—wrapped in pure, blissful relief as much as her bedding—and be out before her head hit the pillow.
But her apartment was dead quiet, the sounds of the city muffled beyond her walls, and it felt like something was crawling beneath her skin.
It wasn’t, of course. She knew what that really felt like.
But fear and revulsion had her in a chokehold, goosebumps raised along her arms. Every little creak of the building sent her twitching, like she expected to suddenly hear heavy footsteps trudging down the hall.
In the beginning, before she’d really understood what was going on, sleeping had marked the switch between her and Vanny. She would go to sleep as Vanessa—she had suddenly started growing tired an hour or two before her shift and would nod off no matter what she tried.
And she’d wake up, not feeling particularly rested at all, and see that it was the next morning.
It went that way for a few weeks before the dividing line between herself and the monster who had slipped in alongside her started to dissolve. What she first thought were nightmares were, in fact, sporadic glimpses of reality, full of horror, before Vanny dragged her back into her own head.
That was when the real battle between them began, but even after Vanessa figured out the truth, Vanny had rarely let her properly rest. Falling asleep had always carried the risk of Vanessa losing large chunks of time to a killer implanted in her brain.
She probably shouldn’t have been surprised that even knowing it was over, knowing Vanny had been removed, wasn’t enough to give her peace.
Vanessa stared at her bed, longing and weary, and couldn’t stop shaking.
If she slid beneath the covers and closed her eyes, would she wake up to a completely unpredictable time of day? All she wanted to see were the sun’s early rays shining through her window. She wasn’t used to sleeping at night, but her days of night guarding were thankfully over and done with. It’d be nice to return to a normal schedule.
If she slept, would she dream? Vanny, whether intentionally or not, had prevented her from ever dreaming. Good or bad. Was a nightmare waiting in the shadows, ready to consume her?
If she laid down, would she find it had all been a lie? She knew Vanny had a hell of a lot of control over her mind. Had she learned to create an entire fantasy for Vanessa, only to shatter it when it would be most cruel?
What if she was already dreaming? What if she drifted off and never woke up? What if Vanny was still there, ready to laugh at her for thinking she could ever be free?
Vanessa didn’t realize she was backing away from her bed until she bumped into the wall, snapping her back into herself. Physical sensations rushed in, overcoming a numbness she hadn’t even been aware of. Her vision blurred, half from tears, half from panic. Her chest heaved with quick, sharp breaths. She was gripping her arms, tight enough to send pinpricks of pain shooting through them, nails digging in until red seeped out around them.
Her knees gave out, and she slid harshly to the floor, her head knocking against the wall. A dull ache radiated from her tailbone.
She stared at her bed, her unmade, empty bed, a high-pitched whine cutting through the silence. She couldn’t tell if it was coming from her or if she was just imagining it.
And there Vanessa sat—unmoving, wide-eyed and wild-eyed, barely able to breathe—until light began to creep in around her window blinds.

one hell of an amen - chapter 7
Tumblr media
Summary: His mom always taught him that doing what’s right isn’t always easy, but Jay never imagined how hard it’d be. Or how it could cost him everything.
Notes: back with a new chapter and, while I’m not 100% sure how many chapters there are left I do know that we’re getting close to the end of this fic!
Read on AO3 or below!
After getting the call about Jay waking up, Hailey couldn’t wipe the smile off her face. Her teammates cheered at the news and Kevin even picked her up and spun her around in celebration. When she had been placed back on her feet she was immediately pulled into Trudy’s arms and the blonde detective hugged back fiercely.
“Thanks, Sarge,” Hailey whispered, sincerity clear in her voice. “For everything.”
“You’re welcome, Hailey.”
Trudy squeezed her again. Over Trudy’s shoulder, Hailey made eye contact with Voight.
“Thank you,” she mouthed.
Voight nodded at her and Hailey even saw a small smile on his usually stoic face.
Trudy eventually let Hailey go, allowing Vanessa, Kim, and Adam to each get a hug in.
By the time everyone had gotten a hug in, Voight had made his way over to the group. He stopped in front of Hailey. “Let me know when you have more details. We’ll figure out your time off.”
Hailey nodded and Voight gave her shoulder a comforting squeeze, just as her phone rang again. Will’s name flashed across her screen, and she instantly knew her brother-in-law had gotten the same news she did.
Answering, Hailey immediately heard the unbridled joy and excitement in his voice. She couldn’t blame him; it’d been less than half an hour since she’d gotten the news and Hailey still felt like she was floating. The past five days had felt like an eternity but the light at the end of the tunnel could finally be seen.
                                                 … … …
The journey to Germany was long, but Hailey and Will arrived just after midnight, just 24 hours after Jay’s arrival at Landstuhl. A car was waiting for them at the airport and took them to a hotel near the hospital—Hailey had no intention of leaving the hospital once she got there but Mark had already made the arrangements.
Visitors weren’t allowed at this time of night, so Hailey resigned to wait a few more hours before she could see her husband again. She decided to take advantage of the hotel room while she was there, taking a long, hot shower to recover from the long day of travel. It had taken them over 18 hours to get from Chicago to Frankfurt and then another 30 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel.
Hailey was exhausted but she knew she wouldn’t get any sleep that night. She was just hours away from seeing Jay again and the excitement alone was enough to keep her awake, but it wasn’t just that. There was the looming fear and uncertainty of what she and Will would see at the hospital that was competing with the excitement for the top spot in her mind. The updates from Mark had been promising, but there was only so much he knew; he wasn’t seeing or treating Jay firsthand, and he wasn’t a doctor.
Stepping into the shower, Hailey turned the water to the hottest setting she could handle. Steam started filling the bathroom and Hailey moved under the stream of water, sighing at the immediate relief in her tight muscles. She took her time, working through her entire shower routine in hopes that more time under the hot water would relax her enough so she could rest.
Whether she slept or not, Hailey wanted to be as rested as she could be once she joined Jay.
                                                 … … …
Hailey was running on coffee and adrenaline. Despite how tired she was and the long, hot shower she’d taken, Hailey wasn’t able to relax enough to rest. By the time visiting hours approached she had already had three cups of the strongest coffee she could find.
Her leg bounced anxiously in the back seat of the car, her nerves building as she and Will were driven to the hospital. The scenery passed outside the windows, but Hailey couldn’t even enjoy the sights of a new city—her sole focus was on getting to Jay.
Arriving at Landstuhl, Hailey barely gave the car time to stop before she was hoping out. Will quickly thanked the driver and followed after her, meeting her at the front desk. She had already given the nurse their information, so a visitor’s pass was handed to him.
Another nurse appeared and led them to an elevator, taking them up to the fourth floor. Hailey is vibrating with excitement but instead of heading toward the patient rooms, the nurse leads them towards a small conference room where two men were waiting for them. “Hailey, Will, this is Dr. Alder; he’s been in charge of Jay’s care since he arrived. This is Captain Sillard, he’s one of our social workers and he’ll be here to assist you with anything or any arrangements needed.”
Hailey and Will nodded their understanding. The nurse smiled and left the room, closing the door behind them.
“Please have a seat,” Captain Sillard said, gesturing to the chairs across the table from his own. “Can I get you some water or some coffee maybe?”
Hailey shook her head and took a seat. Will did the same. He could feel the nervous energy radiating off of Hailey and he spoke, trying to lighten the mood. “No thank you, I think she’s had enough coffee today to power this entire hospital.”
Dr. Alder and Captain Sillard smiled, chuckling even as Hailey smacked Will’s chest. His quip worked; Hailey looked at least a little calmer.
“Is everything ok with Jay?” Hailey asked, quietly.
“Everything is fine,” Captain Sillard promised. “We just wanted to have a moment to speak with you about his care and condition before taking you to see him.”
“Ranger Halstead has improved drastically since his arrival a little over a week ago at the base hospital.” Dr. Alder started. “Before arriving here at Landstuhl, he had an operation to remove his spleen followed by another operation the next day to repair a punctured lung and stabilize some broken ribs. He had a skull fracture that caused some swelling in his brain, so they kept him sedated until he was stable enough to transport here.”
“He was also being closely monitored for any additional internal bleeding. Thankfully, keeping him sedated allowed his body to stabilize and no other interventions were needed. He arrived here about 36 hours ago.”
Dr. Alder watched as the people in front of him visibly relaxed a little. He couldn’t imagine how they’d felt the past week, being so far away from their loved one.
“There are some things you need to be aware of though,” the doctor spoke again. “His left arm is broken in two places. They set the breaks at the base hospital and splinted his arm. We took updated X-rays when he arrived to see if his arm was ready to be put in a cast and the x-rays showed that the bones had shifted again. We’d like to go in and repair the breaks surgically, but he’s fighting a mild case of pneumonia and we don’t want to put him under for another surgery until the infection is gone.”
“And there’s no way the bones could heal properly without surgery?” Will asked, his doctor brain kicking in, trying to find a way to help his brother. His brother, who hated needles and surgery and anything involving hospitals.
“We set the bones again after his X-rays and splinted his arm, but our orthopedic surgeon feels that, based on the locations and severity of the breaks, surgery would be his best option.”
Hailey and Will both nodded, though the decision would (and should) ultimately be Jay’s to make.
“Can we see him?” Hailey asked. She knew Jay had been badly injured, Mouse and CAO Ringer had told her as much, but hearing it firsthand at the hospital made it real and all she wanted was to see Jay.
“Soon,” Dr. Alder promised. “There’s one more thing you need to be aware of though. Despite the severity of his head injury, Jay’s cognitive function is wholly unaffected. There are no deficits we’ve seen so far, except for one that was discovered when he woke up at the base hospital: he has no memory of the attack.”
Hailey and Will had two very different reactions. Hailey played shocked on the outside—her phone calls with Mouse had already alerted her to this news, but Will and the others didn’t know about those. Inside, however, she was grateful. Jay’s injuries alone told her the attack was incredibly vicious, she was thankful he wasn’t being plagued by a difficult mental recovery along with his physical recovery.
Will, however, was shocked through and through. He didn’t know what Hailey knew, he only knew what Mark and the notification officers told him—Jay had been badly injured. Since getting the news, Will had imagined Jay getting shot or blown up or injured in a helicopter or Humvee crash but Jay being the victim of a brutal attack never crossed his mind. Hearing the extent of Jay’s injuries, and his experience working in Emergency Medicine in Chicago, Will knew instantly that the attack on Jay was deliberate.
“Jay was attacked?!” Will asked, his voice rising from the shock.
“You weren’t made aware of how Jay was injured?” Dr. Alder asked, confused.
Will shook his head. “No, the notification officers just told us he was injured. They didn’t tell us how, just that an investigation had been opened.”
Will’s mind was racing; he couldn’t believe what he’d been told. His gaze immediately went to Hailey and upon seeing her reaction, some of his shock turned into anger. She was doing a good job of acting the part, but Will knew her. He’d known her for years now, he’s seen how she reacted to news like this. The news they just got? Hailey already knew. Will didn’t know how she already knew that Jay was attacked but she did, and she didn’t tell him.
“Do you know who attacked him?” Hailey questioned. She was proud of the shock she was able to portray in her voice—judging by the faces of Dr. Alder and Captain Sillard, they believed it. In her peripheral, she could see the looks Will was throwing her. Hailey saw the genuine shock on his face and saw how his body tensed when Dr. Alder mentioned the attack. She also saw the way his body language changed when he looked at her and realized she wasn’t as shocked as he was. He might not have known her as well as Jay, but Will knew her enough to know something was up.
“There’s an open investigation,” Captain Sillard stated. “His COs visited him before his transfer to see if he could tell them what happened, but he couldn’t.”
Dr. Alder jumped in. “We’ve done some basic cognitive checks with Jay, but we haven’t been permitted to question him about what happened.”
Captain Sillard took over. “He’ll be interviewed again before he’s transferred back to the states and most likely again there.”
“Apart from the swelling and the skull fracture, there’s no damage to his brain. The hope is that as Jay continues to heal, his memory will come back.”
“And if it doesn’t?” Hailey asked.
“We’ll cross that bridge if it comes to it,” Dr. Alder declared. He checked the time on his watch and stood from his chair, looking at the people in front of him. “In the meantime, Jay should be back in his room from his scans. Are you ready to see him?”
Hailey’s eyes lit up and she quickly stood from her chair. For a moment Will pushed his anger at his sister-in-law (and the situation) aside, choosing instead to focus on finally getting to see his brother.
As soon as he was out of his chair, Dr. Alder and Captain Sillard were leading them through the hallways until they stopped outside of Jay’s hospital room. Before allowing them to enter, Dr. Alder grabbed their attention again. “He’ll most likely still be asleep—we usually bolus his pain meds when we take him for scans. He’s refused the stronger pain meds we’ve offered, so full doses knock him out.”
Will scoffed because that was just like his brother. “Why is he refusing pain meds?”
“He’s not refusing all pain meds, just narcotics unless they are absolutely needed.” Dr. Alder tried to soothe the obviously annoyed brother but his own frustration at his stubborn patient was bleeding through. “Usually at the end of the day because the over-the-counter meds he takes during the day can’t handle his pain levels long term at this point in his recovery.”
“He says he doesn’t like the foggy feeling they give him,” Captain Sillard added quietly. “I think he’s trying to make himself remember what happened.”
He’d been appraised of the situation, given details of the attack and Jay’s resulting injuries, and he couldn’t imagine what the Ranger was going through. Jay had been attacked, beaten almost to death, by someone on the base and he was the only one who would be able to fill in all the blanks. But he couldn’t because he had no memory of it.
Captain Sillard’s words seemed to dissipate some of the frustration the doctor and brother in front of him were feeling. It didn’t go away completely, that was clear by the looks on their faces, but Jay’s choices were in perspective now and they at least understood.
“I understand and I empathize, but him being in constant pain is not helping.” Dr. Alder looked from the Captain to his patient’s family. “He needs to keep his pain under control for him to heal. If you could, encourage him to use his pain pump.”
Will nodded for both of them since Hailey’s focus was on the door or rather, the person behind it. He’d be surprised if she’d heard anything that was said since they arrived at Jay’s room.
Dr. Alder moved to open the door but once again stopped to look at Hailey and Will. “Given Jay’s situation, we’re under strict orders from the CID to not discuss the attack with or around Jay. They don’t want anything tainting or influencing his memory.”
Captain Sillard took over. “If he happens to remember anything about the attack, don’t ask him any questions, don’t tell him anything you know, just tell someone on his care team and they’ll take the next steps.”
Will and Hailey both nodded this time. Hailey especially understood the importance of witness and victim statements in investigations.
With a returned nod Dr. Alder opened the door to Jay’s room, finally allowing Hailey and Will in to see Jay.
Hailey went immediately to Jay’s side, grabbing his hand and bending over to place a gentle kiss on his forehead. Her free hand moved to Jay’s hair and she stroked her fingers through the short locks. Will stopped at the foot of Jay’s bed, staring at his brother. As he took in the healing bruises, the splint on his arm, and the machines and monitors surrounding Jay, his anger flared again.
He heard, rather than saw, Dr. Alder and Captain Sillard leave and after turning his head to make sure they were gone, Will turned his attention, and anger, onto Hailey.
“How long?”
Hailey kept her focus on Jay. She knew what Will was asking but she just wanted to focus on her husband. “How long what?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.” Will sneered. “How long have you known about the attack?”
Turning her head towards Will, Hailey glared at her brother-in-law. She let go of Jay’s hand and moved to the end of the bed, stopping an arms-length away from Will. “You haven’t seen your brother in person in months. We’re visiting him in the hospital. Is this really what you want to do right now?”
“You’re damn right I do!” Will yelled. “You’ve known about the attack this entire time, haven’t you?”
Hailey was quiet for a minute before nodding her head.
Will scoffed. “Of course you did.”
Will started pacing back and forth in front of Jay’s bed. He was like a caged animal, angry and snarling. “You didn’t think to tell me? Didn’t I deserve to know what happened to Jay?”
“I wasn’t even supposed to know Will!” Hailey argued. She knew her brother-in-law well; he wore his heart on his sleeve and he was very protective of those he loved. She’d anticipated his blow-up as soon as Dr. Alder mentioned the attack, but the past week had been the worst time of her life and Hailey was not in the mood to be yelled at. “You think the Army’s going around telling civilians that one of their soldiers was attacked on base? That they can’t keep their own people safe?”
“The person who told me took a big risk to give me answers, a very big risk like a court-martial or dishonorable discharge big. It was someone Jay knows and loves, and I wasn’t going to put his career, his life, at risk by telling anyone else.”
“So I’m just supposed to accept that? Be lied to? I’m his brother!”
“And I’m his wife!” Hailey rebutted.
The two had been so invested in their argument they failed to notice the small movement coming from Jay. It wasn’t until they heard Jay groan that they turned their attention back to him, moving quickly back to surround his hospital bed.
The tension between Hailey and Will was still thick but seeing Jay’s green eyes looking back at them made it all disappear, just for a moment.
                                               … … …
It was about two hours later, after a barrage of conversations and consultations with different doctors and specialists, that Jay and Hailey finally had a moment to themselves.
Will had stepped out to check in with Natalie and Owen, leaving Jay and Hailey alone.
He tugged gently on her hand, bringing Hailey closer until she was sitting on the edge of the hospital bed.
Hailey moved her free hand to cup Jay's face. "You scared the hell out of me."
Jay didn't say anything. He couldn't really, because the whole thing had scared him too. Instead, he turned his head slightly and placed a kiss on Hailey’s palm.
Hailey stroked Jay's cheek with her thumb, the two of them staring at each other and basking in the peace that came with just being together.
Jay had missed Hailey so much and he didn't want to ruin the moment, but something had been bugging him since he'd woken up. He placed another kiss on the inside of Hailey’s wrist before asking her the question that had been on his mind. “Wanna tell me what you and Will were arguing about?”
Hailey sighed and dropped her hand to lightly lay on Jay’s chest, right above his heart. “You heard that, huh?”
“Not all of it, just the last part,” Jay answered. Then, he gave Hailey one of his signature smirks. “Want me to punch him for you?”
Hailey laughed–a true, full belly laugh–for the first time in a long time but shook her head. “We’ll both get over it. It’s just been a rough week, emotions are high.”
That was the understatement of the century. Jay couldn’t begin to imagine what Hailey and Will had been going through the past week.
As much as Hailey’s words rang true, Jay also saw something in her face that told him he wasn’t getting the full story. He nodded anyway, knowing that whatever Hailey wasn’t saying would come out eventually.

Xendelne is smarter than Artemis thinks sometimes
The sound of heels comes clacking down the hallway. “Artemis, what the Hell” Artemis sighs. “Vanessa, I told you I wasn't available for a shoot that day. I have travel scheduled.” Artemis turns back around and begins applying her makeup. “Look, we are out 2 models that day and Katerina is already scheduled.” Vanessa sighs quite loudly. “Look Vanessa, I've had this on the calendar for months why is this an issue now?” Artemis stops applying foundation to give Vanessa a hard stare. Vanessa, frustrated and unable to find any rebuttal walks away in a huff. “Great the model contract board is gonna hear all about this.” Artemis thinks before beginning the process of applying the rest of her face. Afterwards, Artemis leaves the building and hangs a right towards the es-station. While not normally a route that is taken after work, a hard day of being a model begs Artemis to have a few rounds of manna ferment. “I should call Paris and see if she wants to come out too.” No answer on her comms but there's always a chance she could be out with Peter again. “She'll pick up later” The sound of the doors opening to the cab of the es-tram coupled with the cool air of the night lulls Artemis into a calmer state. While the bar is not far away, the normally speedy es-tram is moving at a much more luxurious speed tonight, interspersing light in between the window frames. Pulling up to the station, Vanessa hurriedly gets out of the tram and back into the lights of the city as it shines and glimmers around this time of night.
Upon entering the bar, Artemis sees Xendelne lurking near the corner where the smoking section meets the emergency entrance. Xendelne waves Artemis over, who comes shuffling over once she has retrieved her drink. “Aw, you didn't buy me one too?” Xendelne pulls a sad face before giggling a bit.
“Xenny, I can smell the damn Os-fa spirits on your breath, you're don't need more at the moment.” Artemis says, sliding into the booth to the other side. Lighting up a hash-stick and taking a long pull before following it with a large gulp, Artemis exclaims loudly “Vanessa is such a big asshole, I don't understand why her and Katerina are such good friends. She's absolutely dreadful to be around at work, I cant imagine being around her all the time.”
“Normally it's one of two things Artemis, unrequited love or overbearing responsibility to a childhood bond.” Xendelne smirks. Artemis sighs again. “Xenny I swear that is the almost same exact reasoning you used two weeks ago. It just sounds like you're hedging your bets.”
“This is why we're friends Artemis, half the time I think you just want me for a sounding board.”
“No we're friends because you actually can shit talk without judgment.” Artemis eyes Xendelne as if she's trying not to say something else that might be upsetting out of care, to which Xendelne doesn't catch, instead rolling up a hand-rolled hash-stick that he slides an unknown substance into, lighting it up quickly and then looking at Artemis.
“Did you hear Letitia got fired again?”
“Again? that poor thing. Just can't catch a break. Seems like its happening more now than when it started.”
“Yeah, apparently someone on the writers team recognized her and printed the story with some identifying information. Kinda fucked up when you think about it. Like, someone who not only not from this planet but one outside Or'otl space. Just shows up and holds a store up, that's never happened here. Honestly, I think the housing board should give her and Cerys an upgraded domicile.”
“Xenny, what do you mean? They don't do upgraded domiciles.”
“So? Literally one of the only people on the planet who has passed all of the defense classes multiple times and still continues to do so was in the building. Literally it could not have been a better situation, sadly to say.” After that string of a sentence, Artemis takes another swig.
“Well what are we supposed to do. They literally made the papers recall every mention of Letitia and she still can't find a contract that wont take her as a liability.” Xendelne thinks, almost hard enough that Artemis can feel the gears turning. “What if she comes and works with you?” Artemis opens her mouth instantly to insult both Xendelne's intelligence and family tree when the reality of what was just said set in. “Honestly I think that's one of the smartest things you've said to me so far.” makes it to Xendelne's ear before Artemis is already out of the booth and heading to close her tab, rushing out the door to Xendelne's surprise.
“Artemis why are you calling me this late?”
“Cerys, is Letitia home?”
“She's been home for the last 3 nillet cycles, why are you asking and why does it sound like you're out of breath?”
“I'm running up your stairs right now that's why i'm breathing heavily, i've been drinking and i'm in heels.”
Cerys buries her head in her hands. “I'll wake Letitia.” She grumbles
-
“You want me to what?!” Letitia manages to curse out, still rubbing her eyes. “I want you to come model with me and I may already have a job lined up for you. Nothing big just some easy stuff. You'll have someone there with you but Vanessa needs someone to cover for her and we can hire anyone without a fuss.”
Still groggy but starting to understand more as to what is going on, Letitia asks “What kind of modeling is it? I'm not sure if I'm even model material.”
“Oh our makeup artists are wonderful and I wouldn't be asking you if I didn't think you would be fine. Worst thing this company would have you model is maybe swimwear, and that's not in season.”
“That seems kinda intense though, especially for someone who hasn't done this before.”
“Letitia, you would be saving both of our asses here, it would take the heat off of me.”
“Can I at least think about it?”
“Yeah I can at least let you think about it. That's fair.” Artemis sighs, knowing if this doesn't work she might be toast for a second. “Why don't I walk you home while Letitia sleeps on it? Does that sound okay Artemis?”
“Yeah but you gotta help me down the stairs.”
“Okay let's get you home”

Come Back Home (Ch. 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: LT. Bob Floyd X OC! Civilian “Vanessa Chavez”
Warning: Angst, medical terminology, (future spicy scenes), talk of death, addiction, and any sad shit you can think of
______________________________________________________________
CH.1
How did it get to this point?
How did you end up sitting on the stiff bench of City Hall of San Diego?
The cool air of the A/C made Vanessa shiver, her exposed back of the beige sundress she bought months ago when she first moved to San Diego.
She couldn’t help but feel the twists and turns in her gut, the anxiety practically eating her from the inside out.
Bob’s knee jumped up and down, he was equally anxious. He was dressed in his all whites, the pins and badges clinked as his body shivered, sweat starting to form on his forehead.
I could go to jail if they find out, he thought, my whole career! My parents… Oh what will they think of me?
I cannot believe I am doing this. I fucking hate this, I just want this to get done and over. Vanessa thought, This better be fucking worth it.
“ Lieutenant. Robert Floyd and Miss Vanessa Chavez?” Their names echoed throughout the corridor of City Hall. They both stood up, eyes wide and suddenly feeling the weight of the world collapsing on their shoulders. This is it.
Bradley walked behind them, resenting being the witness to this hell of a plan that can come crashing down any minute. But he knew what he was doing was right, that Vanessa needed this, it meant saving her life. He couldn’t watch his best friend die without trying to help. It hurt like hell to say no to her proposal but convincing goody-two-shoe’s Bob to accept her offer was equally hard. The guilt was eating him up.
When Bob and Rooster met, he took Bob in as a friend, defending him from the obnoxious teasing of the other Navy pilots. They had bonded throughout their many interactions on the different bases they were stationed at. Enough so, that when they were luckily stationed at the same location they would bunk together, specifically this time in Miramar, both of them equally balancing each other out, a friendship both Rooster nor Bob saw coming.
At this point, they had created a brotherly bond, so much so that they vowed if either of them ever became injured or died- they would be responsible to report and care for their families, like brothers.
So how do you think Rooster felt when he sat down with his Navy brother and told him that he needed to marry Vanessa, his childhood best friend, for health insurance reasons?
A fake marriage with a civilian in order to receive full health insurance and beneficiary sums of money to the soon-to-be wife. That was against all of Bob’s moral values, he vowed to never break an ethical code in the Navy or even in his life. So it wasn’t a surprise to Rooster when his buddy was appalled at the idea. Practically losing his mind as he listed all the federal crimes and sanctions he would get - nevertheless, the consequences Vanessa would succumb to as well.
So how did he convince them to go through with it? Well it wasn’t easy.....

TALK ABT HAZED MEMORIES!!!!!! *STARES AT YOU*
Ahaha I don't know if u want like a specific stuff, I'm pretty sure I've mentioned the story before of "getting these bitches therapy since they 1: need it. 2: I love them all to hell and back, and 3: that getting help and being being doesn't only imploy certain types of bad and that anyone can fix their behavior and actions if they try hard enough. And only other stuff happens ig" but I'm also using this as an excuse to talk about the planets and species sorry,,
Put it all under the cut bc itz long,, hope it's good ^w^
The planet ahit takes place on is called Ninrao, no reason I chose that name it just sounded nice. The planet runs on anarchy, probably the only planet that works on anarchy that is (somewhat) peaceful.
The planet is very medically advanced yet has very little technological advances, its also quite small (while the planet is bigger in my idea its still relatively small compared to others). The planet is made up of 7 main-ish areas, such as the canon areas (ie- mafia town {also known as Aurora Island}, the place where dbs is {unnamed for now}, subcon kingdom/forest it's basically the same area now, alpine skyline and nyakuza metro) but there's also the original mafia town (which is unnamed rn also) and the Luxyren Kingdom aka where the Prince/Snatcher comes from (shouldn't technically count but there's still like 1 and a half ppl there so).
The moon that goes with it is called Lotune. Lotune is a very cold place that is basically soley inhabited by the moon penguins, it's also one of the very few moons that inhabited but we'll talk about that later.
The planet that the Remphs (again will talk about them later) live on is called Ixion, it's a very technically advanced planet it's main city is basically a sci-fi area, tho every other area is very forest and earthy. Ixion has a president (or ruler? Idk) named Cassia (she's unimportant rn :))
Ixion also has a connection to- on wait that's classified, whatever anyways onto the species!
The Remphs as talk about above is the species that Hat and Bow are apart of! They're a species that are able to control and protect time since they can withstand it and it's drawbacks. They're also the only species that can travel galaxies far away from their own.
The Remphs' are very secretive and rarely leave their planet, the only time they do leave is mostly the children when they are studying on about other planets (which is what H&B were doing!) some do leave the planet tho, and if they do they're seen as outcasts and disgusting traitors and are to never be realized as ever having existed getting rid of any and all evidence of their existence. If they dare come back they are killed. :)
Oh! And a bonus of the fact they are naturally very strong and also have acidic spit <3
Now onto the species of Ninrao;
Humans are the most normal and uncommon species on Ninrao, they used to be pretty common yet their two kingdoms both fell (thanks Vanessa's mental issues and N-.. You.), the only civilizations are the Aurora Island (don't worry the previous lives there didn't die or anything they just went somewhere else) and OG Mafia Town, they did have one is the desert but like,,,, that one just disappeared and nobody has tried to check on it since.
Humans have magic, elemental and non elemental magic the elemental magics are fire, water, plant, electric, and ice. The only non elemental magic I have rn are puppeteering and servent magic (I've only started working on it 2day so I don't have a lot for now sorry)
Humans also have pointy ears (as seen in my mb & mu designs) , their ears make it easier to hear from distances but it makes them sensitive to loud noises like yelling and fireworks. Humans are also very connected to their souls of course everybody has one but humans are the most connected to theirs, it's the host of most of their magical abilities. Removing a soul from a human is horrific and painful both to see and experience (gee I sure hope no ghosts do that to scare ppl hm)
Oh yes speaking of which let's talk about ghosts, ghosts are mostly made up of humans, ghosts are normally small little noodly creatures sometimes called dwellers, the dwellers cannot speak unless they have a host to due so. The hosts are things such as dolls and game consoles things they can mess and/or communicate with. They however cannot posses humans or any other species no matter how much the movies say so.
Ghosts don't remember their pasts, the most they remember are a few small snippets and vague feelings about stuff, they can remember however if they meet somebody or go to locations that they have memories from. Also they can eat and vaguely taste said food, not important to what I was saying before but yeah.
I'm gonna start making these shorter so I don't just like kill u with my talking, okay next is uhh Moon Penguins!
The Moon penguins are based around dancing and music, that's their entire culture and identity! They're very good with the cold, living on a coldass moon it just makes sense for Ninrao cold to not bother them. They live on both Ninrao and Lotune being able to survive both climates.
The Dust Owls, commonly also called the Express Owls live mainly in the desert and use the Conductor's train to get places (hince both names), they generally have bad and/or sensitive eyes normally needed glasses. They can fly short distances/heights, their insides are also akin to engines. They're naturally clumsy and commonly get stutters or other speech problems
There's also Phoenix's but they're unimportant rn ;) just know they're very closely related to fire spirits and are rarely seen by others (outside the nomads since they live near them)
Anywho the Anthro Cats are similar to normal cats, able to see in the dark and have very sharp claws, either being super tall or short. They have a good sense of smell and hearing (not as good as humans but still)
There is one other species, being connected to the Remphs' and possibly the Moon Penguins buy that's classified so I'd rather not waster ur time
There's the gist of the species not really a lot else to not that I have for now,,, besides the fact that the Ninrao species have a harder time having kids together plus hybrids but they ain't too special just a mixture of both of the parents species
Wowie I've rattled on way too long about this haha oops,,, welp I'm not talking now <3 hope it's good

NEW AMSTERDAM REACTION
This reaction is for the season 5, fifth episode titled "Grabby Hands" which originally aired on October 18, 2022. The episode was written by Graham Norris and directed by Lisa Robinson. Spoilers ahead!
Tumblr media
Since my last reaction got a bit longish, I'm going to keep this one as short and sweet as possible. I want to start off by saying I really liked this episode. With each episode we are getting in this final season, I'm reminded why I fell in love with this series in the first place. This week's episode is all about good intentions and how our desire to help those we care about can result in them getting hurt or worse. Let's start with Dr. Lauren Bloom.
Tumblr media
Lauren moved in with her sister at the beginning of this season despite protests from her friends and colleagues. Lauren wants to reconnect with Vanessa (Kathryn Prescott). Both of them have endured immense amounts of trauma which has resulted in them both becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol. Thankfully, Lauren has been sober for two years and has somehow miraculously remained so while rooming with her sister who seems perpetually drunk and high. Lauren has been faking taking shots just so she can win her trust. While Lauren's desire to re-establish her relationship with Vanessa is pure, her approach is all wrong.
Tumblr media
At the end of the episode, Vanessa finds Lauren's sobriety chip and flips out. I felt so bad for Lauren in this moment but I also understand why her sister is upset. It would feel super violating to have someone come into your home, cozy up to you, and lie to you daily. What Lauren's done for the past four episodes can be filed under the category of manipulation. Again, I get that she wants things between her sister to be like they were before both their worlds came crashing down, but Lauren also needs to realize that her sister is an addict and just as she made the decision to clean herself up, Vanessa will need to make a similar decision. Sorry, Lauren. I'm #TeamVanessa on this one. I do hope things between these two can work out in the future but a lot of healing needs to be done.
Tumblr media
Next up is Dr. Floyd Reynolds. When three patients arrive in the emergency room exhibiting the signs of a rare poisoning. When Max and Lauren figure out that the three patients live in the same building, Floyd leaves New Amsterdam and makes his way over to the apartment building. What follows is a montage of Floyd interviewing the residents of the building and learning about all the things that are wrong. Apparently the place is laden with black mold, rats, spiders, and a host of other issues that made me think perhaps maybe the building should be condemned or burned to the ground.
Allow me to digress for a bit. I get why New York City is so appealing. Having visited there back when I was in high school, it was a nice change of pace from living in a smaller town in the south. I loved how much culture was there. On any given day, there's so much to do. Museums ... Broadway plays ... sports ... the best restaurants ... I get why people visit the place. What I don't understand is why anyone would want to live there. On top of the rent being sky-high, it seems like everything is so grimy and miserable. Hearing these characters talk about all the money they pay just to live in a rat-infested hell-hole made me so appreciative of my small town life.
Tumblr media
Once again, we have another doctor at New Amsterdam with good intentions. For some reason that's not readily apparent, Floyd becomes invested in wanting to solve each of these residents' issues. He suggests that maybe they pay extra in rent so the owner can afford to fix their apartment up. Naturally the residents poo-poo this idea because they barely have the money to pay rent as is on top of paying medical bills. Just when things are starting to feel hopeless for Floyd, he comes up with an idea that would involve the residents paying more, only instead of them paying rent, they would be paying a mortgage. New Amsterdam would foot the bill by giving them a loan. I do find it funny that the whole narrative of New Amsterdam, since season one, has been how broke the place is yet they are able to give out substantial loans to random people in the neighborhood but I suppose I'll overlook this detail in favor of celebrating what seems like a win for Floyd.
Tumblr media
A part of me thinks that when it comes to his personal life, Floyd feels helpless. Every relationship he has never seems to work out which is why he is too scared to try something new with Gabrielle, the new nurse at the hospital. By the end of the episode, it seems like he may be open to trying something, even if it's temporary. Oh, another funny part of this episode was Floyd trying to figure out what her name is after she didn't tell him in the last episode. Him making guesses felt very Rumplestilskin to me. Up next is Dr. Iggy Frome. While Max, Lauren, and Elizabeth are holding things down at the hospital, Iggy takes four of his teenage psych patients out for a day in nature. As he tries to garner some enthusiasm out of them, he notices they are more preoccupied with their phones than with whatever he is talking about. He pulls over and demands they turn over their cellular devices and he hands his own phone in out of solidarity which is such a bad idea.
Tumblr media
Speaking of good intentions, Iggy is concerned the teens may be too focused on their technology instead of the world that's around them. This is a valid concern, especially from a behavioral health provider. However, rather than be reminded of the saying, everything in moderation, Iggy overcorrects and his actions result in the five of them getting lost in the woods. Well, you know what they say, when it rains, it pours. Literally. After huddling near a tree during a pop-up storm, Iggy and the teens build a fire in the middle of the woods. What's interesting is that no one seems too terribly upset with Iggy for getting them lost in the woods.
Tumblr media
Perhaps the funniest part of the episode is when a notification goes off and everyone looks at one of the teens who assures them the sound they heard was a bird. The notification goes off again and finally the kid reveals that while he did turn in his phone, he kept his iPad which has both power and a signal. With iPad in hand, Iggy is able to lead the kids back to the van and back to civilization. Iggy, it seems, has learned a valuable lesson. His good intentions backfired on him and someone, including himself, could've gotten hurt in the process. One of the biggest complaints about Iggy is how impulsive he is, especially in his personal life. Often his actions result in those around him - his kids, his soon-to-be ex-husband, Martin - getting hurt. I hope we get to see him spend the rest of the season growing because as I've said before, Iggy Frome is my favorite character on the show.
Last up is Dr. Max Goodwin. Last episode, he got some pretty unsettling news concerning his health, however, we don't really get to deal with that this episode. Instead, we start the episode off watching him and Luna making breakfast. Luna is little and wants to help out but Max is too focused on making sure she doesn't climb up on anything or make a mess. He wants to keep her safe but ultimately she still gets hurt when she picks up a knife and cuts her finger.
Tumblr media
Max takes Luna to work with him and Auntie Lauren patches up her finger. I loved seeing Luna interact with Lauren because it's yet another reminder of how the doctors are each other's family. With Luna's problem temporarily fixed with a finger stitch (ha, that rhymes), Max has to deal with one of his nurses getting arrested after she accidentally administered a fatal dose of a drug that killed a patient. The nurse's arrest has a ripple effect around the hospital when other nurses start second-guessing their actions out of fear of making a mistake that could get them sued or worse.
Max is at his wit's end. On one hand he understands why people would be concerned. Nurses are the first line of defense in healthcare and if a mistake is made, especially one that results in a patient getting hurt or worse, the blame is almost always shifted to them. Max understands why these men and women are concerned but he doesn't think that healthcare providers should prioritize themselves over their patients. While I get where Max is coming from, a part of me thought to myself during this episode that it's easier for Max to have this view because he's a doctor and it's nurses who are feeling the brunt of this.
For once, there are no easy solutions to this issue and it's quite refreshing to see Max not be able to charm his way out of this issue. This is a very real issue and I'm sure there are nurses who watched this particular storyline and felt seen and heard. Ultimately Max's solution is to keep fighting which doesn't really feel like a solution at all. Accidents will keep on happening because accidents happen and fingers will yet again be pointed at the nurse who was involved. It's just a fact of life. However, with that said, Max's non-solution felt very realistic. So much of what's wrong in healthcare and in society, in general, is unfixable. The way the system is configured makes it next to impossible to implement any positive change and I'm glad this show is finally acknowledging that. It's a bleak ending to this particular storyline but at least Max is able to fix things at home.
Tumblr media
At the end of the episode, Max explains to Luna that he loves her and wants to protect her and always will want to protect her. He also tells her that he has to find a way to let her be more independent without letting his concerns get in the way. See, Max gets it! Balance is the key! At the end of the episode, Max finds a way for Luna to help out with making breakfast that gives her independence while in a safe environment. I love seeing Max and Luna together. I know it must be rough being a single parent. I just hope that whatever is going on with his health is curable because Luna has lost so much and I don't want her to lose Max.
As I said earlier, this was a great episode. Sure, some of the plots were a bit shaky and the resolutions were a bit questionable, but ultimately I was thoroughly entertained by this episode. What made this episode particularly enjoyable is getting to delve deeper into these characters we've grown to love. Each of our characters learned valuable lessons about good intentions this episode and a few of them got hurt in the process. I do think Lauren will be able to make peace with her sister, even if it means they don't have a relationship. I think Reynolds will finally find what he is looking for, which is someone to love and for the person to love him back. Iggy is finally starting to learn that simply having good intentions is not enough. He's hurt a lot of people, including himself, and it was nice to see him take some accountability for once. As for Max, he's learning that life isn't fair and that sometimes instead of fighting to win, you have to fight to maintain. I can't wait to see what happens next! Until next time ...

Chapter Twelve
Welcome To The Underworld!
When I noticed there was land I kissed it and didn’t even mind the aftertaste of death that followed.
“So this is the underworld huh?” Nile thought aloud.
“I expected fire and brimstone, but it’s fairly tame.”
It was mostly dark, with everything having a black interior. There were floating coffins and dim street lamps, and I presume a bunch of ghosts I can’t see. But I assume Nile can because of how much awe he was expressing. He looked at me and gave me the glasses he was supposed to have and after several fruitless attempts at turning him down I took the glasses and put them on.
It was like a New York City afternoon but for ghosts. Some ghosts were more see through than others, some ghosts had signs that told them how they died. And there were skeletons directing the flow of traffic. There was a sign for a taxi so we waited for one and when a coffin came to the spot it answered my question to why coffins were floating in the first place. The coffins were a beautiful dark birch exterior decorated with gold lines tracing around the box and a golden skull directly in the top middle. When it opened some ghosts got out of the box, Nile adding, “Poor things it must be cramped in there,” and I climbed inside and lifted Nile with me.
Now if we hadn’t cuddled so many times at night in the past the way our bodies were smushed together would be even more awkward than it was. Then a steering wheel formed from the mouth of the indent the skull on the outside made. I assume the only way to see where we’re going is to stick my head out, but I can’t go through walls.
“Okay, it looks like you’re gonna need some help.” I heard a voice say.
“ROSIE!!!” Nile said.
A feminine head peaked through the coffin to us. “Yep, I thought that was you Nile, so where are you headed?”
“Wherever Death parked his home.” I said.
“Well you made it just in time, Death technically has three homes he uses. He’s got a place in Heaven, Hell, and the Underworld, the place where people who weren't good, but not bad either, end up here because they don’t know where else to put them.” Rosie said as I felt the coffin move.
“So why are you giving us a lift?”
“Because I owe him one, I got to stomp that bitch into the ground because of him!” Rosie said in a dangerous tone and then I remembered Nile’s story and stared at him knowingly, his face getting redder the whole time.
When the coffin stopped and opened up Rosie got out first, then Nile after some debate on who was getting out first, and then me, because I’m a gentleman.
“Okay, you just walk inside and try not to make him angry, okay bye Nile!”
“Bye Rosie, say hi to Vanessa for me!” Rosie just gave a thumbs up and walked back into the coffin and drove off.
I turned around and Death’s palace was not what I expected.
His entire palace is made of gold.
Well, at least on the outside.
”Where do you think all the money for the ferry goes?” I just sighed and went up one of fifty steps.
I’m used to it by now.
When we made it to the top I used the golden knocker to knock on the door, then a skeleton opened both doors, closed them, then came outside.
“Yes my I help you, and if this is about the cookies I’m sorry, we already bought some.”
“Uh, no, actually I’ve been put on a quest to get Death to dead people again.”
“Oh, our king has arms wide open for heroes like you!” He says as he pushes open the doors, ”Welcome to the Underworld bigshot!”
I stared in awe at the glittering gold in the hall. The only thing that wasn’t gold was a black carpet that went from the door to the golden throne diamonds plastered on naturally, like they’ve always been there. And sitting on that throne was a tan skinned man in a glittery golden cloak. The God of Death Himself.
And I could not find it within myself the need to turn around and go home.
Although I wish I did.

on the topic of milo humphrey, i wish we had seen a little bit more of what happened between georgina showing up heavily pregnant at the loft and georgina fucking off to st. barts. like, what on earth does dan humphrey attempting to co-parent a newborn baby with georgina sparks, of all people, look like? as toxic as she might be, georgina’s dynamic with dan was always darkly hilarious to me, and im very curious about how they uh, dealt with each other during that time period
this is actually something that WILL come up eventually in my wonder how; wonder why verse! (even though that’s the one with the dangina wedding and all that.) i think it’s notable that when georgina says she’s taking milo, dan doesn’t really protest re: her mothering skills. if georgina was an abusive/neglectful mother At That Stage i feel like dan might have put up more of a struggle, some sort of “he may not be biologically mine, but i have been taking care of him better than you have!” but there’s no hint to that sentiment, nothing like that at all.
and i KNOW that dan’s self worth is shit, i know he wouldn’t outright go “you involved me in this, i became his parent when i signed that birth certificate” (he could’ve contested legally to keep milo, and he might’ve actually won that case, but we know he would not have done that.) but remember in s1 when alison comes back and dan yells at her about leaving because “jenny needs her mother”?? if georgie wasn’t good to milo, i think we would’ve seen it.
the canon implication is extremely very much that georgina and dan were actually splitting responsibilities more or less evenly, before she abandons him briefly (& then comes back and takes milo away for good.) they probably took turns staying up if needed, feeding milo, changing milo, etc. and given the fact that dan seems a lot less :/ about the situation as i would expect him to be, i really do headcanon georgina to have been. uh. actively involved in co-parenting milo, for that period of time.
i do think that georgina has a sort of soft spot for dan - which is not to say she’s good to him or anything, but more like that relationship is one that she enjoys (even though it’s absolutely objectively not a healthy one.) the fact that dan was ready to turn his life upside down inside out for milo INCLUDES georgina - in the sense that he was turning his life upside down to let both G & milo stay with him. and if what she was telling him about the circumstances that led to her being pregnant and needing to flee and get help were true - even if they weren’t true, her desperation seemed pretty real - i think she really needed the sort of stability and grounding nature that being at dan’s would’ve provided.
so i think she would be Nice to him for a bit. and he’d get lulled into a fake sense of stability, which - georgina sparks is the exact opposite of stability. the only thing consistent about georgina is that NOTHING is consistent about georgina.
a miniseries that just goes into the antics of dan & georgina raising milo (while georgina causes trouble and vanessa & nate try to ensure that dan is okay, because georgina sure as hell isnt doing that) would be such fun. just 10 episodes. i haven’t watched shameless, but isn’t there a moment where one of the kids snorts cocaine by accident? i feel like that’s pretty much what’d happen if georgie was on her own with milo. and dan of course knows this, knows georgina, so he overcompensates. he’s taking care of everything all the time. he would wrap milo in bubble wrap if that’d keep him safe. and nate and vanessa are just chilling in the loft watching everthing burn (metaphorically) like ‘wow, dan and his ex girlfriend objectively have no chill. wow.”

Frank’s POV
Call me, now.
A three simple yet effective worded text message I sent to Madani’s phone and in less than two seconds the device started ringing.
“Have you changed your mind, Castle?”
“Nope but I can use your help with something.”
“I’m listening”
“Vanessa Marianna, I need a location and according to you, you can find anything.” the street lights were a blur as I sped through the streets of Hell’s Kitchen to get to Murdock’s apartment. Karen grunted as she jerked to the side from the sharp corner I took, her blue eyes shooting daggers at me in the darkness of the car.
“Why do you need a location for Fisk's wife?”
“Y/N and her little group of friends are walking targets as we speak and so is Amy; so please Madani, I need that location and I need it now.” pulling up in front of his building, I killed the engine and hastily got out of the car, still on the phone with Madani as Karen and I headed up to Murdock’s door.
“She recently traveled back unto U.S. soil almost two weeks ago from Italy, a camera picked her up getting into an unregistered vehicle at the airport but nothing after that. It’s almost as if she’s just vanished.”
“Damnit, alright thanks Madani at least I know she’s in the city." I was about to end the call but she spoke up.
"Is Y/N around?"
"Her and the kid are far away from all this, I don’t even know where they are. Take care Madani.” The man that Karen and I came to see opened his door and welcomed us in.
“What are you doing here?”
“Frank thinks that we’ve been looking at this all wrong.”
“Go on.”
“Hypothetically, you and Page get married, I crash your big night. We go a few rounds, I get you on your knees, threaten your brand spanking new wife’s life and you know that I’m not messing around, I will kill her if you fuck me over. You agree to go to prison in order to keep her safe but think about how she’s feeling in all this. She sees me as the son of a bitch that ruined her wedding night and shipped her husband off to prison after dangling her safety in front of his face.” Matt navigated his way to the couch and sat down, as my words sank in. He himself hadn’t considered the possibility that Vanessa could be behind it all.
“And here’s the kicker, no one has been in or out of the prison to visit him since so there is absolutely no way he knows about what the fuck is actually happening.”
“How do you know all this?”
“Oh come on red, I can’t give you classified information.” he sat there in silence still trying to wrap his head around it.
“Okay, so say I do buy what you’re selling. How can you be so certain that she’s the one pulling strings?”
“Cameras picked her up at the airport getting into an unmarked vehicle the same day Amy got targeted in Florida and I doubt that’s a coincidence.”
“That still doesn't mean that she's behind this. Karen, what do you think?” the tired blonde leaned forward in her seat, clasping her hands together as she spoke up for the second time since we got here.
“I think that he may be right about Vanessa but we can’t rule out the possibility of Fisk knowing about her plans."
“Alright, so what are we going to do?”
“I have an idea.”
Y/N’s POV
“Pull over, now.” I couldn’t wait for the car to come to a complete stop as the need to throw up my stomach contents was intense. Leaning out the opened door I puked into the grass on the side of the deserted road.
“That does not sound like fun.” using my hand I flipped her off as I regained my composure, wiping my mouth with the long sleeved flannel shirt I’m wearing. That came out of nowhere.
“You alright?”
“Yeah, it’s probably the turkey sandwhich we ate for lunch. Okay, you can keep driving now." taking a water bottle from my bag I cracked the seal and brought it up to my lips, taking slow sips.
"If you say so but if I had to guess, I'd say you're knocked up, hell I'd be surprised if you aren't especially with all the sex you two have."
“Were you listening to us while we-” my cheeks heated up at the thought of her overhearing Frank and I have sex most nights and early mornings.
“Oh God no, not willingly! I don’t know if you forgot how paper thin those walls are in the house but let me tell you, it is very, very thin. Plus listening to you two go at it would be like listening to my parents having sex and ew.” she turned her nose up in disgust, physically shivering to emphasize her feelings.
“I am so sorry you had to hear that but from what you’ve heard you could tell it was great.”
“Stop!” I was laughing so hard at her mortified demeanor, she is most definitely trying so hard to forget about what she witnessed. Hearing the two adults that look after her having sex really must be like hearing your parents go at it like she said, which brings me to my next question.
“Speaking of parents, aren’t yours worried about you?”
“My birth giver is too high most days to even care and my dad left when I was a baby, so no, they don’t care about my whereabouts.”
“Oh, sorry.”
“You don’t have to apologize for anything. You’ve been a better mother to me over the past couple months than she ever could be and Frank, he’s done much more than my sperm donor could’ve ever done for me.” her fingers drummed against the steering wheel to the beat of Michael Jackson’s song Beat It that played on the radio.
“His family was lucky to have him and if my suspicions are correct, that little bean would have the best parents ever.” rolling my eyes I relaxed into my seat fixating my gaze on the vast fields that seemed to run on for miles.
“I’m not pregnant, Amy.” she took a right, taking us into the parking lot of a quick stop and parked the car close to the entrance.
“What are we doing here?” she grabbed some spare change from her knapsack and got out of the car.
“I’ll be right back.”
Great
While little miss know it all made her way through the isles of the quick stop, I kept looking around at my surroundings. Since what went down at Berkley’s, I’ve been on edge. Another wave of nausea came over me as I continued to inhale the smell of petrol from the gas pump a stone throw away.
I rarely experience nausea so when I do, I feel like complete shit. I can’t even recall the last time I puked before today so something is definitely going on in my body. I cannot be pregnant, I mean, I can but I refuse to believe it. There’s so much going on in our lives right now and if, that’s a mad sized if, I am, that’s going to change a whole damn lot of things.
Amy walked out with a white plastic bag in clutch and her dazzling smile on her face as she all but ran to the car.
“There’s a bathroom out back, here.” she chucked the bag onto my lap as she got in the car. Opening it my eye immediately landed on the box of pregnancy tests that laid on the mountain of snacks.
“I’m not taking a test, Amy I'm not pregnant.” ignoring me she leaned over the center console and opened my door for me.
“We have another five miles before we could get to a motel and I need to know if there’s a Castle offspring in there, just humor me.” grunting I took the box and got out, making my way to the public restroom.
The putrid scent floating in the air increased my need to puke but I held it back choosing to take shallow breaths until I could get this over with. Opening the box I retrieved two sticks and got to business.
I didn’t have to read the box to know how long these took to give me the results as I’ve taken quite a few when Luke and I were trying to start our family. After the fourth negative test I told Luke that I was losing hope but he still insisted that we keep trying and we did but sadly, we only ended up with six more negative tests; each one drove me further into a depressed state.
After that I came to the conclusion that having a baby wasn't in the cards for me.
Shaking away those thoughts, I finished my business and flushed. Adjusting my clothes I stepped out of the stall and placed the tests on the sink to wash my hands.
What if she’s right about this? Now thinking about it I hadn’t seen my period neither this nor last month.
It could just be your polycystic ovarian syndrome and all the stress that you’ve been experiencing lately, Y/N.
My brain was probably right, I had been stressed by the new client Matt had insisted that we defend in court, that said client was a thorn in everyone’s side and to add to that stress, Fisk is back at making our lives a living hell.
“I can’t look at these alone.” my nerves were all over the place. On one hand I want them to be positive but on the other I know now is not the best time for a baby. Hell, what would Frank even think? We barely even had a conversation about this.
Releasing a heavy sigh I took the tests and stepped outside. A gloved hand and white towel clamped down over my mouth and nose as the person tightly held my thrashing frame closer to them. The tests were long gone from my hands as I tried to claw my way from the person. Since that wasn’t working I threw my elbow back into the person’s ribs, this worked as their grip faltered. I managed to break free from the person and reached for my gun just as something solid knocked me over the head.
—--
Frank’s POV
It’s dark and wet outside, the heavy rain beating down on me and the rifle I'm currently holding. I’m surely going to catch a cold after this but that’s minor, all I care about right now is finishing the job.
Speaking of which, they’re right on time.
The flashing lights of the NYPD’s cop cars lit up the area, their sirens blaring out into the streets as they escorted the prisoner transport truck. I watched as they spun out of control as they drove across the spike strip, crashing into each other and the cars parked on the side of the street.
Target in sight, I pulled the trigger, taking out the driver. Altar boy has some penance to give after this all goes down since it is his plan after all. The truck swerved and crashed into a line of cars as well. The two prison officers got out of the back of the truck and before they could fire a shot I put them down.
Yup, he’s going to have to pray God forgives him for working with me.
To my left the officers got out of their vehicles to inspect what happened. One of the officers saw the dead men and raised an alarm. Thanks to the silencer and my position they can’t tell where exactly the shots were coming from as I took them down one at a time, sadly I’m not killing them, just leaving them with a painful wound that is definitely bound to mess a few things up for the next couple weeks.
As soon as I put a hole in the last officer’s gut, I quickly got onto my feet and cleared the area, taking everything of mine with me before leaving to get to the van we had parked two blocks away. Red had gotten to Fisk while I had the officers preoccupied.
Part one down, time for the second part to start.
“Took you long enough.” ignoring him, I got in the van and drove off towards the warehouse a couple miles out from all of this.
“I see you’ve gotten help from Castel, why am I still alive if he’s working with you?”
"You're still breathing because I want you alive." pulling up in front of the building I got out and opened the backdoors for Murdock and the asshole to get out. This motherfucker really had the audacity to try to size me up, grunting I shoved him to start walking and smartly, he did.
“Sit.” he complied, sitting down on the only chair in the middle of the room.
“Might I ask why you interrupted my transport to a new facility, I thought you wanted me in prison?” he asked Murdock and I cut in before red could answer.
“Let me make this clear, you bust out of those cuffs and I will not hesitate to put a bullet between your eyes, understood?” he nodded and red carried on.
“Where’s Vanessa?” my hands are itching to beat the shit out of him right now.
“I don't kn-” he grunted in pain from my fist colliding with his nose, a streak of blood trickling from his nostril and down his top lip.
“Why’d you hit me?”
“Because I felt like hitting you, where’s your wife? Try not to lie this time. I know she's back in the city and she must have reached out to you.” glaring at me he refused to answer and I punched him yet again, more blood got onto my fist.
"I'm not in a mood to play games, you better start talking before I do kill you."
“I wouldn’t do that Frank, not if you want them to live.”
My head snapped in the direction of the female’s voice and my blood went cold.
Two men dropped Y/N and Amy’s unconscious bodies on the ground, their wrists and ankles bound together and their mouths are gagged. Karen and Nelson walked in with guns pointed at their backs.
“You didn’t really think that I was going to let them run away because that would be so foolish of you.”
I’m going to kill her.
"Plus I'm a sucker for family reunions."
