I added the theme tags later but to expand on that; The leader Miyako Kurosawa is themed on Vampires, Juurou Hayashi is themed on Zombies, Yuto Amano is themed on Ghosts (specifically a yurei), and Tsuneo Yamamoto is themed on Mummies. Just like canon they all have a theme in their last names! Biomes!!

I kinda have an outfit idea in mind for them and it's just like a neat little suit with small top hats hats specific to their themes (Vampire has fang design, Zombie looks stitched up, [idk ghost], Mummy has bandages on the base)

Designs. Uhhh. I only know Yuto has long black hair like the yurei ghost. Because I don't actually have mental faces for them RN, Miyako looks like An, Juurou looks like if you blended Akito and Tsukasa and general silliness, and Tsuneo looks like Toya. Why are they VBS to me? No idea, I've been trying to mold their faces to be unique in my head and it's just not happening.

ALSO because this unit has 2 guys (matching canon gender patterns) their assigned Vocaloid is Kaito and their vocaloids are all classic monsters from famous novels. Miku is Frankenstein's Monster and the Kagamines are Jeckyl and Hyde (IDK which is which tho). I don't know about the others yet.

OC-tober Day 3: Old OC

You know we gotta talk about the oldest OC(s) I've got: Sage and The Sages (worlds worst band name lol). This one's gonna flow real nice into tomorrow's, which will include new art! But for now, lets check out their og versions.

Sage is my actual oldest OC. She's the green weirdo. The Sages, named after her, are all ghosts that live inside of Sage (sage is also a ghost but she got a new body. and now she has to share it). That's the short version, that's all the context you need.

Here you go, I tracked down the first time I ever drew the Sages, circa 2016. Never before seen image.

Truly, nothing has changed.

Oh, except those names. So, initially, the Sages were intentionally 2-dimensional. The lore reason (though i dont remember if I had it written this far back) is because they're incomplete ghosts, called fragments. They literally only remember the tiniest bits about themselves, and that's what they act upon. So, I gave them fittingly simplistic names. I ended up changing this as I expanded their personalities, and also because they (quoting past me) "sound like edgy 7 dwarves." There was also a brief period where their names were Anger, Anxiety, Intelligence, and Insanity, but those were too pretentious even for me. Referring to them by color still conveys that lack of identity, without putting them in weird little boxes.

That "incomplete memory" thing is also why they all look like Sage. They forgot what they actually looked like, so their memory pulls from Sage's appearance instead, since they live in her body now.

Idk if ever talked fully about this, but this seems like a good place to do it: the Sages didn't start out as an equivalent to DID. They were based on a coping mechanism I had in middle school, which was more Inside Out if anything, and I didn't know a damn thing about DID. As I got older and wiser, there was a brief period where I tried to somehow do a "multiple people in one head" thing while trying to stay as far away from real disorders, but I'm fully leaning into it now, I've been doing my research. That's why their redesign was so important! I wanted them to be their own people, not just one-note personalities. Course, I'm still no expert, and they're still technically just ghost nonsense, so don't go taking my weirdos as actual representation. But I'm doing my best!

Wow, this really wasn't about Sage much. Uhhh did you know she started as a minecraft oc? Those are enchanted diamond boots in that first picture. Cool stuff!

The worldbuilding is unhinged (complimentary), I don’t know how to describe this fic concisely. Where would I even start. I will say when I started reading this I was hooting and hollering in my car at the funny. It does contain graphic depictions of violence but this is Yu-Gi-Oh we know the drill 

Dragon from Ash by Mortigaunt - Skyrim fic following a Dunmer dragonborn from Morrowind. The author’s really put a lot of thought into the setting and expands upon the main questline and the lore in a neat way. Hasn’t updated in a while though, shame. Contains mature content, including sexual themes, violence, it’s Elder Scrolls.

i like the idea of ghosts who were wronged or otherwise had really strong emotions during their death to come back because of it. otherwise i just wanted Ghost to have an x over one of her eyes, so i made it be like theres an x over whatever part of their body had the injury that killed the person (if applicable?) so Ghost was shot in the eye and Luna was shot in the chest.

seeing as Luna went back and possesed her body, she ended up adding shit onto it, for funsies yk? because of cartoon logic ghost magic i figured it would just keep the body in whatever kind of stasis thing where it can still bleed and make blood but otherwise heart and brain n shit is dead and there isnt shit for nerves etc. the only bit she was able to actually do herself is swap her human teeth for wolf teeth that she had to go find in the woods or somethin.

what else i got. because Ghost helped Luna figure out how to posses her body back again she ended up helping him find a body he could inhabit. they'd found a cat on the side of the road or somethin and he had to walk her through getting it ready for him.

q3 2021 update & plot call !!

ash is on hiatus the whole quarter so... not much going on here.

uhh basically the first two days of july he was still trying to get bc to let him take a break so schedule threads could be set then if they cross paths at the bc building! he’s going to be participating in concert rehearsals for knight to a less intense extent since bc, as of the beginning of his hiatus, fully intends him to participate in the concerts. he’ll miss about the first half of the tour, but in july and august he’ll still be attending knight tour rehearsals some to keep up. schedule threads can also be done then!

(note that he’ll be missing the bc city concert as well — i don’t see him dropping by just to support either tbh, sorry bc ppl. white knight duo ver tho let’s gooooooooooo)

ash will eventually start writing music and finding his love of that again though and that’s pretty much the most work he can do during his hiatus, so it’d be cool to maybe have him write, compose, or produce for a few people that might be releasing later this year or sometime next year if anyone is interested? :) we can see if ash would work for it. there’s also opening for him to ask a few people he’s close to to sing some demos for him when he starts trying to write again!

personally + plot ideas!

explaining how he got to his hiatus would take me all day but he basically forced bc’s hand in letting him take time off (well, he wanted to leave knight and retire ngl but his manager was like... you know that’s not going to happen let’s try a hiatus <3). you can read my badly-written solos for part of it (i still need to write more) but generally, the most other muses might know is that they might have run into him acting kinda moody/down or impulsive/irresponsible lately, he made a very uncharacteristic post on social media that hinted at being unhappy with his life currently and losing passion/excitement for even the things he used to value most highly before his social media was deactivated by bc lmaaooo. the post would have probably conveyed Something was up it it wasn’t like genuinely super triggering-level content i promise !! bc released a statement shortly after stating he’d be going on hiatus without mentioning a definitive end date.

so there’s the possibility a muse might have checked up on him after that post / the hiatus news to see how he was doing?

tbh ash isn’t going to be seeking out meeting new people during his hiatus. he’s taking time to himself and is only going to make any effort to hang out with people he’s comfortable with. those he’s not close to, he’s going to have to interact with by running into unintentionally.

he’s getting a place in jeju in the early-ish part of his hiatus. he’ll be spending a lot of time there at first because he just wants to get away from seoul, so it’d be nice to set some threads there if your muse has the time to hop over to visit him if they have anything resembling a free day. (again a certain level of closeness would be necessary, but i think one good heart to heart conversation beforehand could bring someone closer to him enough for that rn! even over text tbh lmao). chuseok would be a really good time for this !! i imagine catching up over lowkey dinners or heart to hearts under the stars, that found family ash has actively fought having lol

(that place in jeju is also going to be where he starts to want to write music again too, so music based stuff there would be chill?)

he’ll be moving into a new apartment in seoul eventually, though that will probably be a little later in his hiatus? he had some bad fan/sasaeng run-ins right before his hiatus and having so much time off makes him realize he wants to move. someone can help him house hunt or if someone else is looking for a place, they can talk together about it. i want him to realize he wants to move into a smaller place that can feel more like home

once he does move, muses are free to come over and help him set up / be his one-man housewarming party. that’s a little down the line tho !! so we might not want to plot that as a thread to write right this instant

he may also be getting a pet ! muses can come look with him at a shelter or he can run into people there!

this would be a little later in his hiatus, but it’d be interesting if once he’s doing a little better, he gets the urge to dance and runs into a muse at the dance studio. idk that he’ll ever fall completely back in love with dancing, but he might rediscover some of what he did love about dancing and ash and this muse often run into each other as he visits that dance studio a little more often and they eventually bond over it / do some dancing together.

those who still really have that passion for making music ash has lost, talk to him about it <3 he misses it. he might cry but tbh he’s liable to cry in any thread

he’s cutting his hair short and dying it back to black this month, so it would be possible to run into him at the hair salon!

ash will want to be inside at home mostly at the beginning of his hiatus, but as it goes on, he’ll start to branch out and that will offer some more opportunities to hang out. he’ll try not to go to bars and clubs really, but small music venues or jazz lounges, small indie cinemas, galleries, those kind of things will be up his alley

idk that there’s much plotting to be had around this, but this long hiatus on top of the other hiatuses he’s had and his acting out before this hiatus is going to make some of the bc team realize it might not be super wise to keep pushing him hard as a cf model (and in the long run, just less of pushing him as a major idol star within the company in general tbh) so he’ll be able to get some more tattoos and piercings and will become more comfortable, hopefully, with presenting himself how he wants to be seen / having some development in that good ol’ lack of bodily autonomy aspect ash has always had going on. he’ll be coming out of hiatus living much more of his 2021 jk fc truth with the full sleeve and the eyebrow piercing .

uhhh ? pretty far down the line but i’ll mention it while it’s on my mind :) i think it’d be cool if ash did a collab (mini-)album (or two?) at some point after getting off hiatus. i’d want it to be someone he really clicks with creatively (though they don’t have to be a songwriter — i can see it working as collaborative songwriting or as ash feeling really inspired to write for them) and wants to work with since it’s not going to be something he’s letting bc push him into it at that point, and something that just happens organically. realistically, this would work with a female vocal best by far, maybe a male rapper just based on the songs ash does / i can see him doing. probably wouldn’t want to commit to anything fully rn unless it really clicks but i wanted to throw the idea out there :)

uhmmm?? ig i should also mention ash will be paying attention to his health both mental and physical he’s been neglecting for a while. there isn’t too much to say regarding plotting here because he needs to handle it himself with trying new therapy, medications, understanding there’s some stuff beyond “just” his depression going on. coming to accept nothing’s ever going to be perfect, but that self-awareness and effort can help more than denial can. not super plot potential-y but i’ll mention it since this is all the personal update section

basically, ash is taking time to recover mentally (and physically) and ultimately hopefully leave hiatus in a better place than he started where he can be more comfortable in his career, even if just a little bit, in himself, and in his life. if he can have some good, developing threads during the time, that’d be great!

20. What would you like to see/have seen in a continuation?

Aside from the obvious “finish the story” in a general sense, i i really would like to see actual previous WR character’s present and expanded on if we assume a number of them did stay with Tezla. And honeslty, not even in a “they are all Silencers” way? bc i think that would be boring if they all were Silencerz. i also wouldve liked to have seen some solid cross team friendships form between individuals (vert and markie for example) because it never felt like anyone was really that close even though they started to work together at the end.

16. Any crossover/AU ideas?

i obviously explained a markie/kurt swap which is a sorta AU, so i wont go over that one again but. heres a few quick ideas i have on mind!

AU where Taro is Zed-36 instead of Kurt (based on my the comic theory/headcanon i posted)

complete team swap AU. Teku guys and now MM, MM guys is now Teku. sounds like a mess but also a fun way to push some characters tbh.

Gelorum/Tezla AU swap... They actually are the same (gelorum is still a drone) but their intentions are swapped. Tezla is the antagonist and managed to control the drone army while Gelorum is ‘good’ (as good as tezla was in canon lol) and gathers humans to help her. more complex than that but thats the basics

i would love to think of crossovers but i just dont like enough fandoms i feel would work lol... but i do think a crossover/AU with other existing HW stories would be cool, i loved Velocity X and it has a real cool aesthetic too which feels in line with Acceleracers. seeing those stories/worlds crossover would be neat.

4. Favorite & least favorite character(s)?

Most Favorite - Kurt Wylde because im predictable. i think hes a character with the most potential and also most interesting development even with where it lacks! of course ive spoken of what i would want to change, but i still like him a lot

Least Favorite - ok i dont want to be simple and say like.. Sparky/Monkey/Porkchop because theyre annoying comedic relief... so picking a character i genuinely dont care for that much uhhh it would have to be Nolo... as i have explained i just do not like his attitude through 90% of the movies. and i blame more of that on poor writing, because he did a complete 180 after somehow forgiving Tork which made no sense, but it didnt change my impression of him lol. i like the fanon but not the canon.

6. Favorite & least favorite realm(s)?

(Neon) Pipeline realm would be least favorite i think... in terms of like, idk i just found it very boring to watch? it felt like it would be cool but the whole scene with it was kinda lacking (aside from giving Silencerz stuff) and i think couldve been tackled in a much cooler way. Second to that would be Cavern Realm but its only because it was in a minisode that got no screen time and seemed very boring anways

Favorite in general would be Warped Realm! but thats from the cards only and i just think it sounds really cool. from the movies, i would pick the Metro Realm. even tho i felt it wouldve been nice to explore deeper (and got sidetracked to plot stuff i wasnt super into watching lol) its a favorite for how weird it is. i cant be the only one who found it super ominous?? the robotic traffic and stuff.. really weird and i like the slightly off-putting vibes

ok so, I watched the first ep of rbay again and now i wanna write--

So, there are some stuff there that was never brought up again, and this time I’m going to talk about Star Warriors (but a little, since I didn’t finish the anime yet)

OK SO i dunno where to start so this’ll be a huge mess but---

You see Kirby’s warp star?? Well, Meta Knight said that is the source of energy for Kirby, in the same ep, Kirby’s (and the w. star) color changes to green. What I think for this is that:

This is more gijinka based (sorry aldfjdk), but if Kirby’s (and any other born star warrior, with Meta Knight being the exception [he wasn’t really born as one but he still needs it, but that’s for anoTHER TIME---]) warp star (his life source) is away from him for a period of time, the star color changes to green (if it already is like that, then to a more darker shade of it, yeah original (?), indicating that its owner is at their weakest point. The star warrior’s face turns into a slight green, their blush marks are darker (in extreme cases, the blush is almost transparent), and they look very tired (like a zombie? yeah). If they are like this for a few hours, they’ll die, so it’s important to keep their life souce near them.

and yeah that’s it, but i didn’t came here to write just that so:

When creating a Star Warrior (the only ones being able to do that are some beings like the ancients, with the difference that they’re considered gods, no i’m not talking about void but that sounds cool), the first and most important thing is the star, there the creator puts the soul, love and power (this is subject to change tho since i’m not sure). Star Warriors can exist without a physical body, but they won’t be able to fight unless they fit (?) with some requirements.

To kill a SW (this sounds bad sldfjskldf), the only known way to do that is by shattering their life source (it’ll be easy if it’s weak, the person is a child or teenager, or if they aren’t strong enough). You can cut their body parts but they’ll still live (they’ll just be unable to fight).

Once the star is shaterred, the pieces glow and transform into dust, and then go to the galaxy to form a new star (this is related to another hc). Meanwhile, the soul will fuse with the love and strenght they developed and go to the afterlife. They won’t need to wait to be accepted there, since their title is very well respected and also their life was devoted to help the galaxy in general (unless you are a dumbhead and just did the countrary).

Also, once someone is there, they’ll never come back UNLESS it’s necessary or some god from there let them (yeah, you can beg to reincanate or revive, but the request will most likely be declined), well, you can still visit as an angel, but that’s just rare cases, like to send messages or help (like in battle, for example. Now I wanna change the subject to Meta Knight, y’know that some people believed (I guess?) that he could be Nightmare’s son? Because hell yeah, he is his son in this AU (I feel bad for him sdljds). SO:

Nightmare was expanding his army of monsters when he wanted to recreate one of the most powerful life beings. Since it’s impossible to create a god (unless you’re one lsdjf), and the ancients are like, normal life forms but with way too much knowledge and power they gained (they weren’t born with that [yes another hc], so that was a problem), he went to the second most powerful ones, the Star Warriors. It was hard, but he did it, not going into details because my imagination can’t reach that but yeah, that’s kinda how he created MK.

Like I said before, of course that MK is not a real one, so there are some differences between him and other SW’s like Kirby. What are those differences??? I wish I knew sñdfkgslñfgk. But yeah, he easily pass as a genuine star warrior, except to the uh, original-creators-and-gods-and-i-can’t-come-up-with-a-name-for-them-hhhhhh.

Since he was the first (and only) attempt, he has some “failures” (only for Nightmare tho), so he doesn’t act like a real monster, because he can learn, develop, grow, think and feel (yeah, like anyone here, except for the mentioned monsters)

Rebelling from Nightmare wasn’t enough, but the fact that he can love was the thing that he would, at least, go to the afterlife in peace. And Galaxia was just the cherry at the top (?), that is a no-hell-for-you guaranteed (since i just put my afterlife hc then why not hell lol, morpho visits that place sometimes)

There was a belief that Galaxia absolutely couldn’t be even touched by a monster, or another life form from the uhhh “dark side” (ah yes star wars my dudeessss), but Meta just proved that wrong. So, Galaxia can’t be wielded by someone (doesn’t matter the species) who doesn’t have the requirements (i dunno what they could be exactly oof) (and YES, this is based from a fanfic i read, i think it was “kirby and their two dumbass dads”)

31) What you would like changed if another production of the show happens? uhhh i think in its immediate aftermath i was sort of thinking how it's a bit weird that like. sure you can easily take some textual material in lihn and interpret girls as Not Nt informed by that, but clearly the focus is how their response to external societal factors is Pathologized (especially based on their identities, e.g. susannah as a black girl and kitty as a trans girl), and while of course miss asp having this extended breakdown basically over the course of the show lol *is* about her own Attempts To Cope With Society have failed her and are failing her, and she's having Bigger messy reactions as the show goes on as the girls sort of get themselves even more together, it felt like she was being given behaviors that are more like. "cues" that are associated with Mental Disorders like, her thinking the girls could be aliens is sure involved with the Metaphor in that, but from the perspective of her character being fairly earnest in that belief, that's like, More of an interfering Symptom than we've seen from any of the girls........idk like, feels like either her character could become at least Slightly more subtly handled or like, in the same way that the girls are here for different things and yet The Same Thing, it could be made more explicit that one or more of the girls is nd and that Just Might manifest in ways that are seen as going beyond "standard" "weirdness" like yknow. miss asp out here like "yeah she has delusions now" while with the girls it's like. yeah they have "undesirable / inappropriate Behaviors" but, not of that kind

41) An anecdote about your experience with LIHN? lmao well i don't Personally have any great anecdote i don't think. i watched it along with soph which means i had to keep messaging them like "hang on pause, i'm Buffering again" every 6-13 min or so, and a fun coincidence was that 99% of the time the video paused at a timestamp wherein the Seconds ended in _9. someone else's anecdote: al's story of having gone to an actual lihn performance, having had been made to miss the intended train to the theater and needing to wait for the next one, and ending up sitting right in front of jason sweettooth williams on the ride / getting to make conversation lol. rights

Hey so I’m getting some ideas down for what my aus Vanny/ Reluctant follower is like

Okay for starters she’s like mid to late 20s ish and was stuck in some psychiatric hospital for a few years. For some reason she’s obsessed with William and now is trying to “continue his legacy” even though the guy really just wants to stay dead though various means that may or may not include harrasing his grandkids.

Anyway uhhh various headcanons about her: she’s naturally blonde but her hair is graying early due to stress and also she has the remains of old orange hair dye that’s being grown out,

She’s a contortionist, why? Because it’s creepy. Also she’s probably good at breaking into places because of this skill of hers

She either made that mask herself or stole it from marie and repainted it because idk spite? She hates malhare with a burning passion and thinks he’s some “faker”

Most important is she’s batshit crazy, she was in a psychiatric ward for a reason.

I’ll try to expand in her once we get more info but I have a story arc planned for her based in my au so if she strays from cannon a little... or a lot than that’s why.

why do u like deltarune so much? o: it is a very good game but it is also a sequel so im curious why you like it in particular? (feel free to ignore this ask, it is a bit out of the blue)

i am ALWAYS willing to talk about how much i love deltarune! there are a lot of factors that go into it.

characters: i absolutely love them and they're precious?? like all of them. minus the spade king. i especially love noelle and susie, they're so sweet. i really kinned noelle hard for a while when it first dropped (is that the right way to say it? idk what kinning really is)

soundtrack: just as good as undertale but with some even bigger bops like field of hopes and dreams or rude buster. seriously megalovania is good but i cannot name one song from undertale that matches up to those, and there are also some non-bangers that are still just really good like empty town (which i learned on piano and is one of the only songs i remember how to play)

gameplay: i LOVE this exact kind of like, modified take on the traditional turn based rpg, where it takes the huge numbers and long grinds of traditional ones and simplifies them while at the same time adding fresh mechanics like the way enemies attack or your different options for ending battles. same reason i love the first two paper marios.

sequelness: genuinely the best sequel game i've seen. takes motifs from the original and expands on them while still being really fresh and builds a huge amount of intrigue between the intro, the new roles of the characters, and all the weird little things hidden about like the door south of the church.

difficulty: doable, but poses a good challenge to first-time players, especially by offering jevil for people who might find the spade king an easy fight, since skill levels vary a lot. personally, it was really perfect for me, cause i really banged my head against jevil for a while but it was short enough to still be satisfying while long enough to not feel like i beat him too easily.

uhhh this is getting way too long but deltarune 10/10 i have been vibrating constantly since i finished it waiting for the full game.

WElp. I knew this was coming at some point. Come to think of it I think I’ve done this meme before for oumasai like the whole thing. is it cheap if I just copy paste my answers. eh I’ll see if anything’s different. under the cut!

1. If you had to change the pairing’s very first meeting, how would you change it?

Neither Kiibo nor Akamatsu are there and it’s just a 1 on 1 clash of personalities. Saihara tries prying at Ouma for information and details but Ouma keeps lying and prodding at him for fun. It sets up the rivalry really well and the themes of the game by having them come into direct conflict like this. Also I just feel like we should start with Saihara as the protagonist since Akamatsu as a protagonist gives us nothing except a bait and switch. Like anything else she does could easily be done as an assistant. 

2. What song fits your pairing the most?

I’m not good at this sorry. No idea.

3. What is your favorite AU/prompt idea/trope for your pairing?

uhhh right now its the band au I thought of but generally speaking I really like mutual pining and two person love triangles, and Ouma really makes it easy to give me a two-person love triangle, although this ship can do that in other ways. Phantom thief is really good for both of those things but I have since expanded my horizons to More Creative versions of the same two tropes. I just think it suits them.

4. Do you prefer canon ideas or do you have your own headcanons for them?

This is like a weird question because aren’t all headcanons in some essence based on canon. like even headcanons for an au setting are still using characterization from canon in some way. But like I generally like aus more than I like canon fics for v3 because v3 is just....hoo boy. But like all my headcanons and fics are based on analysis I did of canon and what canon told me these characters would be like. So.

5. Favorite canon moment of them?

So my definition of canon might be super picky to some people but it’s basically “content you can’t skip” meaning no ftes, bonus dialogue, etc. So for me that’s...probably right now it’s that bit at the end of chapter 5 where Saihara calls Ouma a friend despite literally everything it makes me sentimental. but I’m also a sucker for the ch4 “when I find someone I like” scene. 

6. Least favorite canon moment of them?

This hasn’t changed but it’s still the fuckin “You’re alone and you always will be” line. It’s not in character and it's narratively redundant and ineffective. More on that here.

7. Favorite headcanon trope/idea? (Your own or someone else’s)

the band au I have in mind. I really wanna write it right now but I feel bad because I still have prompts, even though right now I have no prompt ideas and the prospect of them is exhausting. but LISTEN. the band au is gonna be really good I swear.

8. Least favorite headcanon trope/idea? 

Excluding pre-game, which isn’t actually real and if you believe pre-game was a real thing in the way shirogane presented it, you have been duped, as well as other fujoshi fan favourites uh...any trope or au that involves ouma being a killer in some way. Like if they put him in the position of killer in a way that doesn’t really justify it based on his canon characterization I just don’t care. It’s cheap writing just for angst and dark vibes.

9. Favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics?

Honestly I’m here for the entire dynamic. I’m a real sucker for characters that are foils that encourage growth and development in the other through one way or another. I honestly wrote about this much better in other posts, including the one I linked to, and its one in the morning, but yeah. I really just like what canon provided me as a whole, and I love how they play off each other by representing the opposite of what the other stands for down to their cores.

10. Least favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics? (Can be headcannon)

pre-game isn’t fucking real it is a LIE by shirogane stop talking about it. Actually kinda like in my komahina answer, I feel like ouma’s character arc was really well resolved, and like way better than Komaeda’s, but I feel like his arc as an antagonist with conflict wasn’t. He was just killed off and then Shirogane came in with her 100000 lies for chapter 6 and derailed everything in Kodaka’s attempt to be clever. “See I’m showcasing the themes by having everything shirogane says be a mix of truth and lies, and be saying something thematically different, because I’m being really clever and lying about the themes at the last second.” it’s dumb.

Unfortunately unlike with Komaeda there’s no easy way to fix this without trashing Kodaka’s chapter 6 as a whole, which also means throwing out everything that was building up to it because its the core of the game. I’d like for there to be a version of v3 where Ouma is truly confronted with him being wrong instead of it just kinda happening offscreen in an implied manner and never talked about again.

Saihara’s monologue in the epilogue has like a compromise of both their views, which I actually think is a good one and a thematic resolution to his character arc as well as the game, but it really kinda sucks the character that represents the other half of that didn’t get to see or realize that in his own right. It’s kinda lopsided. 

11. If they aren’t a canon pairing, how would you get them together?

Ya kinda can’t in canon because of everything you’d need some serious canon div and even then it would be a post canon slow burn. Because they both would have to get past their issues in canon and only then can they really get closer and be together.

12. If you had to take them and plunk them into another fandom, what fandom would that be? Why?

last time I went with ace attorney, and i’m probably not gonna top that au I invented on the fly, but my ideal au for any given series is “how can I make this higurashi.” the answer is higurashi. one day I’ll finish writing that ask about it.

13. How hard is it write/draw your pairing? Scale of 1-10.

eh it’s not very hard I’d go with like a 2-3.

14. Is there a pairing that you think rivals them?

For me, not really. It’s the most compelling dynamic written in dr as a whole, and I have a lot of fun exploring other ships, especially wlw ones, but this one is still canonically the most interesting.

15. Which character of the pairing do you like more? (Would you ever pair yourself with them?)

It flips but rn Saihara

16. Which character of your pairing would be the one to break up with the other? Why?

Ouma because he’s the kinda dipshit who’d bottle up his emotions and then decide instead of talking about anything he’s worried about he’ll just break up but he won't mean it. and it’ll be really messy but I think Saihar’s intuitive enough to be able to push through that.

17. Are they relatable as characters or as a pairing?

See my last remark reminds me very much of my own literal actual relationship so I’m gonna say pairing.

18. Did you once/ever dislike one/both of them?

I didn’t like Ouma before the game came out because everyone else loved him for no reason. I changed my mind. I always liked Saihara though.

Canon gave me a lot of material but I was in the moment I knew Ouma was canonically gay for Saihara, which I learned like before everything else.

Total Word Count: AO3 says 325,198 [AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OH MY GOD]. Again, slightly skewed because 1. The longest fic i wrote on my own, is it the right word?, was mostly written in 2015 and 2. Anywhere between 80-100k [idk though???] was actually written by Lyds as part of our collabs, most notably one lifetime with you [again, a good chunk of which was written in 2015] and everybody begs to be redeemed [but also including our amazing hersula fic all but the brightest stars which is still lowkey one of my fave things we’ve written together]. Still, taking all of that into account this puts me, like, solidly in the 100-200k range which. Like. holy shit. What even am i doing with my life

What’s Your Own Favorite Story of the Year? This is!! Very difficult!!! I wrote many things that I am proud of!!! Obviously anything i write with Lyds [olwy, ebtbr] is going to top the list because i just feel like writing with them really brings out the best in me [cue the cheese]. Iitrw I’m proud of because it is, in my estimation, the best novel-length thing I’ve produced in my life. And I’m super proud of i will implode with you (‘cause everything will be all right) because, like, i love holsom with all of my soul and being and i think that fic has some of my best characterization

Did You Take Any Writing Risks This Year? Uhhh i think i spent the whole year like pushing myself in terms of trying out different voices, different tones, different atmospheres… So on that front I’m pretty happy with the risks i took because like i tried my hand at a lot of different kinds of fic and i think it really helped me feel more confident in my versatility as a writer but also in my ability to sound like -myself- across different styles. Also I definitely took some risks in terms of the really out-there tropes/au ideas, writing things that I was interested in rather than what the fandom at large might be into. Some of which were more successful [ebtbr, all of olwyverse; do you see a trend here in terms of what I’m most proud of lol] than others [iitrw], but I’m proud of myself for taking that jump anyway.

Do You Have Any Fanfic Or Profic Goals For The New Year? Ideally I would like to step away a little from fic this year but realistically, considering I’ve told myself for like over a year I’ll step away from fic, who knows if that will actually happen lol. Regardless i am probably going to continue writing fic but i would like to see if i can keep my projects on the shorter end [by which i mean, like, fewer than 50k words. I have high expectations for myself] so i can focus more on school, the future, etc. [aha oh boy……..]

As for profic, i do actually have some concrete goals for this year! I have an original story I’ve affectionately dubbed “delinquent lesbians” [though it’s a bit of a misnomer considering neither character involved is really a delinquent, and at least one of them is not a lesbian; i will not talk about it here but like if anyone is curious i will not object to rambling about them you just have to be Prepared for how much i can talk about them lol] that’s been tossing and turning in my head for the better part of a year i would really love to bring to life at some point. Also! I will not say too much on this topic yet because we don’t know if it will pan out, but Lydia and I are cooking up some of our own original collabs!! I am really excited, guys!!!

Story of Mine Most Under-Appreciated by The Universe, IMO: iitrw mostly just because i put over a year of work into that bad boy and happened to post it when the fandom shriveled up and died, every femslash thing I’ve ever written in my life

Most Fun Story to Write: olwy!!!! Most of my other projects were absolute hell to get through at one point or another tbqh

Story with The Single Sexiest Moment: Errr i don’t really write “sexy moments”. I guess like the closest I’ve come to is the make out scene i wrote in the fourth part of i will implode with you?? It’s, like, a paragraph lol

Most Sweet Story: I um don’t usually associate myself with “sweet” stories [see: the 130k words of magical angst in olwy, the 78k words of clone angst in iitrw, the 40k words of pacific rim angst in ebtbr; not only am i apparently incapable of writing anything other than heart wrenching tragedy, i write a whole fucking lot of it] but i guess this one would have to go to sing me, baby, home which is probably the fluffiest thing I’ve ever managed to write in my life [i still can’t believe i did something like that lol]

“Holy Crap, That’s Wrong, Even For You!” Story: No spoilers but this would probably have to go to what lydia and i did to Holster at the end of ebtbr [TO BE FAIR IT WAS THEIR IDEA but i wrote it so… yeah…]

And uh also iitrw is based on a pretty fucked up book so like. It’s a pretty fucked up fic just by nature of the beast

Story That Shifted My Own Perceptions Of The Characters: Hm. Well I’d say pretty much every fic i write changes the way i see the characters, especially if it’s the first time I’m writing them. If only because inevitably i will find a way that i can write the POV character as anxious in some capacity lol

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Okay this is kind of not specific to 2016 but honestly the fact that there are a handful of tropes i keep on beating the hell out of [STARGAZING; long distance relationship; summer romance] probably says a lot about me as a person [that i like soft night time content?? That i like things with twinges of melancholy and sadness and wistfulness?? That i grossly overuse night time/day time/star/sun imagery??? All of the above?????]. Also… i put a lot of myself and my anxiety into olwy!balth so… it might not seem like it but he’s probably the [version of the] character I’ve allowed myself to write the most like myself because i have serious problems with projecting on my faves lol. I was going to answer “the fact that i lowkey hate soulmate au’s even though i actually wrote one” but, like, that was 100% intentional and I kind of want everyone to know that

Hardest Story To Write: this is actually a hard question to answer because i struggled with, like, every single one of my major projects last year. I think in general i struggled the most with omgcp fic for some reason because like the characters’ voices are so incredibly distinct it’s hard to really capture them imo?? There was a point i almost gave up writing the soulmate au’s because they were so hard to do lol

Biggest Disappointment: That lyds and i will never be able to finish our plans for olwy verse. That we probably won’t be able to get to the sequel to ebtbr we were planning either. That I don’t have the time to turn my zimbits pride and prejudice AU into the Austen novel-length clusterfuck it was always meant to be [i hope i can expand on it at least a little more in the future though!]. That i will never write the 10 things i hate about you rosa/jaquie epic the lll fandom deserves. That i didn’t write, like, any original fic??? Seriously dude what are you doing =[

Biggest Surprise: Mostly that i was physically capable of putting out this much writing like completely for free lol. If only i could be this productive in my own real life endeavors
