Warnings: mentions of drug use, jealousy, violence, jj being a tease, protected sex
I didn’t know who this woman was just by looking at her but the moment she opened her mouth and JJ went rigid, I knew she was his ex. I could tell just by looking at her that there was a reason JJ was a single parent and most likely had full custody. She looked rough. Her clothes were dirty and barely fit her, her hair was matted and unwashed, her eyes red and glassy. The red marks on her arms told me all I needed to know and my heart broke for him. And Summer.
“I’m not doing this with you, Chelsea. Leave.” JJ barked, the tension radiating off him. I’d never seen him so angry. Chelsea smirked, her red eyes shooting to me and formed to a scowl.
“You the slut riding his cock this week?” My own chest flared with anger but JJ waved her off.
“Stop it. She’s my employee. And I’ve got nothing else to say to you.” JJ moved to open his truck door but she blocked his path.
“I want to see my daughter.” She bit out. JJ leaned in, his lips pulling back in a snarl.
“She’s mine. So until you get a fucking lawyer, stay away from us. Stay away from my shop and stay away from my employees.” I couldn’t move or breathe as I watched their stand off.
“You took her away from her mother! What kind of father does that?!”
“One that loves her enough to protect her no matter who it fucking is. You almost killed her. Then you left her in the NICU and didn’t look back. I took care of her, I raised her, I paid off the medical bills, not you. Having sex doesn’t make you a fucking parent so get out of my face.” JJ yanked his truck door open, shooting me an apologetic look as she stumbled to the side with a scoff.
I turned away, having heard enough, and jumped into my own car. His ex continued to yell and scream profanities even after we drove away.
Tumblr media
JJ had barely said two words the whole next shift. I could tell that a storm was brewing and that he was stressed. He was no shittier than normal yet I knew it wasn't directed at me. The guy had a lot on his plate and an ex he clearly wanted nothing to do with so I left him to his thoughts while we worked. I felt the need to apologize for pushing and complicating matters further but he'd disappeared to the back with empty boxes.
"Hey Y/N, long time no see." My heart sank as I looked up from my catalog to see Jared, the Kook I'd been hooking up with before JJ. The one I ghosted.
"Hey, how are ya?" I forced a smile, hoping JJ stayed in the back awhile longer.
"I'm good. How are you? I've called and texted a few times but you never answered me.
"Yea, I, uh--."
"Are you seeing someone?"
"Well, not really but--."
"Y/N." We both looked to JJ who now stood with his arms crossed at the register. His eyes didn't hide their distaste for the guy in front of me. Jared only smirked, his gaze letting JJ know that he felt the same way. "Y/N, it's closing time. Lock up." JJ said, dismissing Jared with another shitty look before taking the cash drawer and disappearing in the back.
"Guess I'm not buying anything." Jared chuckled, leaning across the counter on his elbows.
"Yea." I chuckled humorlessly as I rounded the counter and moved to the door. Jared followed, his eyes no doubt checking me out. I moved to let him exit when his hand splayed across my lower back, pulling me towards him.
"Jared." I pushed at his chest, taking a step back with a sigh. His hands fell but he didn't step away, his eyes dark.
"We had fun didn't we? Why did you ghost me?"
"Jared, please go. I'm at work. This is not the place." I waved my hand at the door but he didn't budge.
"When is the place? You never answer me when I call or text. You deleted me off social media. How else am I supposed to talk to you?" Jared stepped towards me again, his glare predatory as he sized me up.
"I'm not--." I pushed against his chest but he took it as an invitation, pulling me closer by my hips and making me feel how hard he was. My stomach twisted in a knot, my lips pulling back in a snarl.
"Do you still have your nipples pierced? I always liked looking at them when you rode me." Jared murmured in a low, sultry voice that sent alarm bells off in my head.
"Remove yourself from my shop before I do it for you." I jumped back at the sound of JJ's voice, Jared barely lowering his hands and stepping back to look at JJ.
"Your shop? Like a fucking Pogue like you could actually own anything." Ugh. I suddenly remembered why I hated Jared outside the bedroom.
"My name is on the fucking sign, dipshit."
"Yea I've heard about you. The druggies son who's also a liar and a thief." Jared turned to me, "Be careful with this one, he'll steal your shit if it's not bolted to the floor."
"Jared, fucking leave."
"Is it him you're fucking? Had to resort to Pogue dick?" JJ stepped forward and Jared smiled, puffing out his chest as he grinned sadistically at JJ.
"I won't tell you again. Get out." JJ warned, his blue eyes blazing. Jared leaned in, his eyes finding mine.
"She still got that tattoo on her spine? I always did like running my tongue up it or covering it in cum." JJ moved fast, his hand wrapping around Jared's throat, his other fisting his shirt as he all but hauled him from the shop. I moved to race after him but he shoved him down on the dock with a snarl.
"Don't come back." JJ warned, turning on his heel as Jared coughed and laughed on the ground, his face beat red. I stepped back inside as JJ appeared in the door, locking it behind him and leveling me with a dangerous glare. I didn't know what to say as we looked at each other, his body shaking with rage.
"He doesn't come back in this shop. Ever." JJ finally bit out, his nostrils flared. I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat.
"If I see him so much as look at you again I'll--." JJ trailed off, clamping his mouth shut like he's said too much. He takes a deep breath before speaking again, "So you fuck Kooks, huh?" The anger zaps through me again and I scoff, taking a step back from him.
"Oh, shut up. You're technically Kook now." I spat and he lunges, making me squeal as he throws me over his shoulder and walks to the back.
"I'm not a fucking Kook." JJ growls, slapping my ass hard as he rounds the corner and sits me on the workbench. I shove my hair from my face, panting as I glare up at him.
"What's your problem? I didn't do anything. I didn't bring him here." I move to slide off the workbench but he's suddenly there, shoving my legs apart and positioning himself there, caging me in.
"No, you never do, do you? You only get inside my fucking head and my fucking bed and tear me up inside but sure, you didn't do anything. Then you let that motherfucker put his hands on you and look at you like he's been inside you and--." I shove at his chest.
"You have a child. You don't get to act jealous. We aren't exclusive. You made that very fucking clear from the beginning. I can't help if guys want to come crawling back for more."
"Who can blame them? This pussy is so fucking good I'm surprised you don't have wedding proposals waiting."
"Maybe I do." My chest heaved with every word while my body burned and ached for him. The way he looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive had me buzzing with need. And wet. So fucking wet.
"I thought fucking you would get you out of my system." JJ bites out, leaning in so close I think he's going to kiss me. My heart skips a beat, my stomach filling with butterflies as his hands rest on top of my thighs at the edge of my shorts. He’s so close to touching me where I need..
“But it only made it worse.” JJ whispers, licking his lips and I nearly moan, needing his mouth on me.
“I want you. Not just here. I want you in a fucking bed. I want to lay down and eat your pussy until you cry. Until you’re ripping my hair out. Then I want to flip you over onto your stomach and fuck you until you cum so hard you forget the name of every guy that’s ever been inside you before me.” I lean in to kiss him but he pulls back an inch, a cocky smirk on his lips.
“I want you in my truck. On the beach. In the shower. At the fucking movies. On the side of the road. On the floor.” I couldn’t breathe. My core was pulsing in sync with my heartbeat. My panties were soaked. I was so empty and begging to be filled by him. There was a roaring in my ears.
“What’s wrong? You turned on? You want more?” JJ taunts.
“Stop teasing me.”
“Maybe now you feel a fraction of what I feel when I’m around you.” His lips finally meet mine and everything in me comes alive.
It’s not until he’s taken me on every surface in the back do we finally break apart, flushed and panting. I finally got him completely naked and it’s a beautiful sight as he stands there catching his breath, blonde hair stuck to his forehead and his lips wet with.. me.
“Stop looking at me like that or I’ll get hard again.” JJ smirks, letting his eyes trail over me in the same suggestive way. I chuckle, slowly pulling on my clothes even as my body protests with every ache and sore muscle I feel.
“I guess we both have crazy exs we’d rather forget.” I say, pulling my shirt on over my head as he starts to get dressed. JJ only nods, scooping up the condom wrapper off the floor and tossing it in the trash as he gets dressed.
“You know I have an IUD, right? You don’t have to wear those if you don’t want to.” My cheeks heat just thinking about his cum inside me.
“Yea a girl telling me she was on birth control is how I got into this mess.” JJ huffs sarcastically, buttoning his shorts. I can’t help the shot in the gut I feel as I wince at his words. I shake it off, narrowing my eyes at him.
“Not every girl you sleep with is going to turn out like your ex but I’m sure if you reach up in there far enough you can feel it and check for yourself.” I try to shove past him but JJ catches my arm, pinning my back against the wall. He’s smirking and I hate him.
“I’ve been in your guts plenty of times and I’ve never felt anything but I’ll take your word for it.” He breathes, letting his gaze fall to my lips. God, I hate him.
“Whatever.” I mumble, yanking my hand free of his grasp and pushing him away. JJ smirks, caging me in again and bringing his lips to my ear. If he doesn’t stop, I’m going to be ready for round two.
“Trust me, there’s nothing I want more than to feel you bare.” JJ whispers, his lips brushing the spot below my ear. “But I have a bit of a breeding kink so for now, I have to wear condoms. Maybe if you’re good, I’ll let you have it raw.” I grit my teeth, my pussy pulsing in response. He was fucking baiting me again. JJ pulled back with a smirk, pecking me on the lips and sauntering to the alarm panel to finish closing.
Suddenly I wanted nothing more than I feel him raw and that terrified me.

no thoughts, just eunseok letting his partner get whatever and do whatever they want. like the members were in absolute shock when they saw that you managed to get him to be the rapunzel to your flynn rider…i’m giggling
note; i loved this idea so i turned it into a scenario !! i hope you like how it turned out :)
pairing; song eunseok x reader
genre; fluff
warnings; cursing
expect the unexpected
“you’re not serious, are you?” eunseok stares at the couple costume that you’ve bought for the two of you so you can wear it to the halloween party tonight.
“if i wouldn’t be serious i wouldn’t also have bought this,” you throw him the blonde wig that you’ve been hiding behind your back.
eunseok catches it, and after realizing what you just threw at him, he shakes his head. “definitely not.”
you nod your head. “definitely yes.”
“no, you can’t expect me to wear that.”
“i can literally see you perfectly in this costume. it’s made for you.”
“it’s rapunzel!” eunseok looks at you in disbelief.
“yeah! so what! rapunzel is smart and playful, just like you. it fits.”
eunseok keeps shaking his head, not believing what you’re asking him to do. “no but.. don’t i look more like flynn rider? why do i have to be rapunzel?”
“well, what’s wrong with switching up the roles?” you raise your eyebrows.
“nothing.. just..” eunseok sighs, finally giving in. “you’re lucky that i love you. do i really have to wear the purple dress or can i just wear some purple pants and shirt?”
with a big grin all over your face, you walk to eunseok and wrap your arms around him.
“you’re so going to wear the dress. there’s no way out.”
✧˖°.⁺‧˚ ♡ ˚‧⁺ ✧˖°.
after putting on your flynn rider costume, you decide to go to the living room because eunseok is still getting ready.
walking to the living room of the dorm eunseok lives in, you find two of his roommates (anton and sungchan), sitting there, already dressed up for the party. sungchan is wearing a vampire costume and anton has white color all over his face, matching the all white outfit that he’s wearing.
“i‘m guessing you’re a ghost,” you say to him while sitting down on the couch next to them.
“you guessed right. it’s kind of boring, i know, but no one told me that we were going to a halloween party tonight. i literally just found out an hour ago,” anton side eyes sungchan, who apologetically holds his hands up.
“hey, don’t blame me. i thought shotaro told you about it.”
anton leans back while rolling his eyes. “i know you guys didn’t want to tell me in advance because you knew i’d have the best costume.”
sungchan laughs, his fake fangs showing up in their full glory. “that was a good joke, anton.”
“anton made a good joke for once? let’s hear it,” seunghan walks into the room, followed by all the other roommates. now everyone is here, except eunseok.
hmm, what’s taking him so long? you think. should i go take a look?
“i always make good jokes, what are you saying?” anton pouts while seunghan just laughs at him.
you take a look at everyone‘s costumes. wonbin is wearing a popcorn costume, seunghan is dressed up as a zombie, shotaro is looking like michael jackson and sohee is wearing a racer outfit.
“where is eunseok? we should leave soon,” shotaro looks over to you. you take this as a sign and stand up. “i’ll go look after him.”
when you walk closer to eunseoks room, you hear how someone keeps talking. how eunseok keeps talking.
“shit, why is this not closing up!! i‘m going crazy for real.”
“i should have not allowed this to happen. i look weird.”
“… but i can’t say no to her. how the fuck am i supposed to say no to her when she looks at me with her gorgeous eyes and pretty smile.. she just knows how to get to me.”
you find it adorable how eunseok talks to himself whenever he’s stressed. silently, you open the door. eunseoks back is turned to you so he doesn’t notice you walking in.
for a second, you just observe how he’s trying so hard to close up the dress all by himself, but his hands don’t reach the zipper.
“shit, everyone is probably waiting for me,” eunseok mumbles, still not noticing you.
“well yeah, we are waiting,” you say. the sound of your voice makes eunseok turn around and you try to not to laugh when you see his face being all red, the long hair from the wig being all crazy and him looking at you like you’re his last hope.
“i‘m so close to ripping this dress apart, so please, help me before i lose my mind,” eunseok begs and you can’t help it, you start laughing.
walking closer to him, you grab his shoulders and turn him around. after zipping up the dress, you turn him to face you again and start adjusting the wig so it stops looking all over the place.
when you finish, you smile proudly. “and voilà, you’re good to go.”
noticing how eunseok softens his eyes, you grab after his hand. “you look absolutely amazing.”
“honestly, the flynn rider costume looks better on you than it ever would have on me,” eunseok smiles.
hand in hand, the two of you walk to the living room. the others were all talking hysterically but when you guys enter the room, all the attention is on the two of you.
sungchan and sohee start giggling like crazy.
“no fucking way,” wonbin mumbles in disbelief.
“quick, sungchan, give me my phone. i need to take a picture of eunseok,” anton yells while having the biggest smile on his face.
“i‘m already on it,” shotaro grins, pulling out his phone to take a picture of eunseok.
“*y/n*, how did you get him to wear that?” seunghan can‘t hide his amazement.
“i actually didn’t have to do a lot. my charm was enough i guess,” you softly squeeze eunseoks hand.
“seeing them act up like this makes me confident in my costume,” eunseok brushes through his blonde wig with his other hand. “it means that i look good because otherwise they would not give a shit.”
“i told you; this costume was made for you.”
“you guys really do look amazing together,” sungchan stands up, walking closer to the two of you to admire your costumes.
“i‘m kind of jealous,” shotaro joins him. “i thought my costume would be the best but.. maybe i was wrong.”
“i just can’t believe that eunseok is rapunzel and *y/n* is flynn. i didn’t expect that. especially eunseok agreeing to do it.. like how?” seunghan still can’t believe how you were able to persuade eunseok.
“well, expect the unexpected,” you grin while shrugging your shoulders.
eunseok wraps his arm around you, pulling you closer to him.
“i’d agree to everything you say,” he whispers so only you can hear it, and plants a kiss on your head, which makes you feel like the two of you are really in a fairytale.

Ghost In The Machine (Eddie X You)
Tumblr media
A/N: I wrote this a few days ago because I need it more than anything rn.
Title is based off of SZA's song "Ghost In The Machine".
"I give a fuck, I just wanna fuck, eat, sleep, love, happy Can you make me happy? Can you keep me happy?
Can you distract me from all the disaster? Can you touch on me and not call me after? Can you hate on me and mask it with laughter? Can you lead me to the ark? What's the password?
I need humanity You're like humanity"
They do text near the end. Eddie's texts will be in red.
Warnings: Daddy Dom Eddie X Stripper Sub (slight bratty) Fem Reader, SMUT, dirty talk, dry humping, phone smut, slight degrading if you squint, choking), Eddie is kinda mean at first, traumas are alluded to but not expanded on (Child abuse; bad past relationships), light FLUFF with my usual dash of the ANGST.
Word Count: 4060
Being asked to perform at parties like this wasn’t new for you and the other girls. Having the manager of a famous band reach out to your company for some “entertainment” wasn’t odd either. What was odd was that you were told Corroded Coffin had four band members and right now you were looking at three. They seemed content with the girls they had grinding and kissing on their lap so you decided to take a look around the mansion style home you guys had been called to.
It was extremely beautiful with a bunch of rooms displaying different things. Your fingers grazed the wall at the bottom of the bands framed platinum and gold albums. Turning into what you assumed was a game room, you found a billiards table and a PlayStation with a mini bar in the corner. Around the area, shelfs prominently showed off the band’s awards and accolades with MANY pictures of them in different places.
As you walked further down the hall, you passed an open-door smelling smoke and hearing light strumming of a guitar. Pausing, you took a couple of steps back to peer into the room, finding that missing fourth member.
He had headphones on over his long, wavy hair as a half-finished cigarette dangled from his lips. His eyes were closed as his fingers ran across the instruments strings as it leaned against his bare chest. His jeaned leg and barefoot tapped to a beat as he listened to his music.
“Jesus Christ!”, he exclaimed as his eyes shot open feeling a change in the atmosphere. “What the fuck are you doing over here?! You girls are supposed to stay in the goddamn living room.”
“Hey there’s no reason to be rude! Your friends were preoccupied with the other ladies so I thought I’d look around.”
“Uh huh. To steal shit?”
“No! To look. I got bored, ok?!”
“Hm. A hooker who’s bored. That’s something I haven’t heard before.” His tone is dripping with mocking as he rises to his feet.
“That’s no reason for you to be a fucking asshole!”
“You watch your mouth when you talk to me, little girl. I can make sure you and your ‘company’ never get another job again.”
“Oh, Mr. Tough Rockstar is oh no scary. Fuck you. I’ve handled way worse clients than the number 5 band on the billboard charts.”
The man’s held tilted to the side as he finally drank you in. You were visually different than what he expected when his friends had suggested reaching out to an agency to have some women come over to celebrate with since they were nominated for another Grammy. Eddie didn’t care about that kind of thing; he just wanted to play music. When he heard the car pull up, he immediately disappeared to his room to practice and write some new songs. Not that he wasn’t interested in “entertaining a woman”. This metalhead liked a challenge and he enjoyed even more a strong woman that wouldn’t just cater to his every whim. He didn’t want a woman who would get down on her knees no questions asked. Eddie wanted one who would tell him to fuck off but then after a few consensual activities would be dripping and begging for his cock.
Women were offered to him and his friends constantly. He wanted something he had to earn so that way when she finally submitted, it was all the more sweet.
“What’s your name?”, he asked in a much softer tone.
“Y/N. You?”
“Are you asking to be polite or do you genuinely not know who the guitarist of the band who is number five on the billboard charts?”
“Do you always make things this complicated?”
“Yes.” When he grins at you, you can’t help but smile back.
“Some of the other ladies find catering to a man’s ego really gets them going. I find it’s better to ask them questions, Mr. Munson, especially since most of our clients think we don’t care about them.”
“Do you? Care I mean.”
“Sometimes.”, you shrug.
“You’re honest. I like that.”
“I don’t really see the point in lying if I’m probably never going to see you again.”
“Do you WANT to see me again?”
This time it was your turn to tilt your head. He said that with a lot of the sass he had been giving you since he saw you but something else was behind his eyes when he spoke, something lonely. Your palm reached out confidently, landing on the bulge in his jeans. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t notice his size. The part of him that was against your hand wasn’t even all of him and you gulped as you tried to regain your confident composure.
“Do you want me to help you feel better now, Mr. Munson?”
“You didn’t answer my question.”, the guitarist mused as he stepped forward, placing his own palm against the wall behind you and trapping you against it. “I hate when my questions go unanswered.”
“You-you must be used to disappointment then.”
His nose grazed yours, grinning a big tooth filled smile before his eyes flicked down to your hand on his cock.
“You must be to, Y/N.” Slowly, his fingers trace down your arm and take hold of your wrist as he holds it still. “Be honest. Have you ever felt a dick as big as mine?”
You licked your lips as his hips began grinding against your palm, trying to push down the moan that wanted to escape.
“Ooo someone’s confident.”, you jest. Something in his look changes as the hand on the wall behind you slides down to your throat. In most situations with your other clients this would be a time to panic but he wasn’t gripping you violently. When his fingers firmly pressed into your skin, your brain felt fuzzy as your pussy clenched around nothing.
“I’d say I’ve earned the right to be confident. Now, Y/N, this your one warning. Answer the questions I ask you. Do I make myself clear?”
“Y-yes Mr. Munson. I understand. N-no. I’ve never felt a dick like yours.”
He smirked as he pressed your palm harder against him. “Good girl.” Your let out a sigh when he released his hold on your neck to push some of your hair behind your ear. “You really are beautiful, Y/N. Fuck and your hand feels so good. I can only imagine how the rest of you feels.”
“You don’t have to imagine. You can have me if you want me.”
Eddie’s smirk grows as he bites his bottom lip. “Honestly, sweetheart, I’ve never wanted anything more but…that’s not how I play. I don’t want you to fuck me because you’re paid to.” He leans in till his lips are right by your ear. “I want you to fuck me because you want to…need me to.” You hear his breathing stutter as he moves his hips faster, his grip on your wrist tightening. “Beg me to.”
“Oh fuck…”, you whimpered at his words. His movements become choppy and grunts before you feel dampness on his jeans.
He leans back placing his forehead on yours as he licks his lips and softly smiles. “See, what would usually happen now is I’d make you cum to. I bet that pussy is just aching to be touched but see…you’re getting to paid to make us feel good…not the other way around.”
You’re honestly too stunned to say anything or fight back with your typical brand of sass. Right now, all you can think of his him and how bad you need something from him; anything.
“Can…can I kiss you?”
When he nods, you waste no time connecting your lips to his. You immediately taste the nicotine but that undertone of him has you dizzy. All too quickly, it’s over as he pulls away. He doesn’t just move his head but his whole body as he backs towards his bed, yanking off his now stained jeans and boxers.
“How long are you ladies here for?”, he asks nonchalantly as he sits on the bed and picks up his guitar again.
“Huh? Oh, um, 2 AM I think.”
He glances at his phone before handing it to you. “Time’s almost up. Put your number in there for me.”
Eddie said it like a command and your instinct was to say something snarky but as you looked down at him strumming his instrument without looking at you, you realized there was more to this man than meets the eye. Most men who begged for your number always watched you intently to make sure you actually did it, you assumed. Of course, you gave them a fake number or the number to the agency you worked for but with this man here his head remained lowered. It was almost like he was afraid you wouldn’t…like he really hoped you would and would be hurt if he watched you decline, giving the phone back.
There was something about Eddie that you wanted to know more about. He wasn’t like everyone else you had been around. For some reason, you felt like you could trust him.
After inputting your real number, you placed his device back on his nightstand and sat beside him. “We still have 45 minutes. Can I ask what you’re working on?”
His eyes shoot over to you as he cautiously scans your soft smiling face. “We’re working on this new album and Jeff has this song he wrote but I can’t find the right sound. I was just messing around and recording them to see if it sparked something.”
“May I hear what you have so far?”
“Um, yeah, sure.”
He reached over, grabbing an extra set of headphones and placed them over you head. You grinned as different guitar riffs and melodies began to play.
“This is all you?” Eddie nods. “Wow. Mr. Munson, you are definitely talented.”
When he pauses the recording and you slide the headphones around your neck. “You can call me Eddie if you’d like.”
“Okay, Eddie.” After putting the headphones over your ears again, he pressed play and you both leaned back in his bed.
He couldn’t help but be a little shocked that you didn’t try to touch him again. Anywhere he or his band went, people tried to touch his body whether it was meet and greets, walking through the street, or even on stage when overzealous fans would jump on and run at them. Any girl that was lucky enough to be in his bed would insist on touching him until she left as if she knew this would be the last time she saw him. That’s another reason he struggled to maintain any kind of relationship. Besides the crazy rockstar life, he never was keen on being constantly touched.
He got enough of that with his career and when he was growing up when his dad would knock him around. With his last relationship, they fought constantly because there were times he would come home from a long day and just wanted a moment to decompress alone. He knew she meant well but even after nicely asking her to give him a moment she would still try and wrap her arms around him or try and kiss parts of his body.
What he didn’t know yet was that you understood that feeling all too well. Being in your line of work, men seemed to believe you didn’t even have a line they shouldn’t cross, always touching some part of your body until their time was up. When you were just a stripper at the company you worked for, men were the same but at least you had a bouncer to quickly pulled them back. When times got hard and you told your boss you were willing to sign up for the “side hustle”, it was just you and the girls.
No one had ever gotten too physical like that but after your client came you just wanted them to roll over and crash or just leave you there till the timer was up. Personally, you chose to stay away from relationships knowing most men wouldn’t like your line of business. Men constantly offered to “save you” but you knew it was all talk. They didn’t really care about you.
When you moved to the city, you promised you were only going to look out for yourself. You took care of you and had for a long time. The last time you relinquished control like that, you got burned and ran all the way to a new state.
A small hand tapped your knee and you jumped before realizing it was one of the other girls letting you know time was up.
“Ok, I’ll be right there.” You turn to Eddie and hand him his headphones. “I really like what you have so far. That last one was beautiful.”
“Thank you. Here, um, let me grab my sweatpants and I can walk you out.”
“Oh, Eddie, no. You don’t have to do that. It’s super late and in your gated front yard I don’t think anyone is going to jump us.”, you giggle.
“Ok…I’m going to put on pants anyway though because I want to hug you if that’s alright.” Without waiting for an answer, he finds a pair on the floor and pulls them up just below his hips.
“Do arms not work without sweats?”
“They do but I don’t want to be disrespectful by rubbing my dick on you and making you uncomfortable.”
“Didn’t I just…”
“You made that move, sweetheart. You put your hand on me.”, he grins as he places his body in front of yours. “May I hug you?”
When you nod, he wraps his arms around you and pulls you to his chest as your own limbs cling to his upper torso. This was a new feeling for you. It had been so long since you felt safe in someone’s arms. His hand petted your hair as he kissed the top of your head.
“I’ll talk to you later to make sure you’re alright.”

You sighed as you entered your front door, putting away your things, and throwing yourself on your bed as you closed your eyes. A sudden ding on your phone made your eyebrows scrunch as you blindly searched for it on your bed. Swiping it open, you noticed it was from an unknown number but as you read the message, a smile slowly formed on your face.
“Hey, sweetheart. Just checking in to make sure you got home alright.”
“Are you stalking me, Mr. Munson? Lol. I literally just walked in the door.”
Tossing your phone back on the bed, you figure it will most likely take him awhile to respond but as you go to your closet to change you hear that familiar ding.
“Yup. You caught me. I followed you home.”
“Shit. I just realized that’s probably not a joke I should be making in your line of work.”
“I was just thinking about you and wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“Lol Eddie! If I thought you were like that I wouldn’t have given you my number : ) “
“I’m alright though. Thank you for checking up on me.”
“Of course. I’ll leave you alone now so you can sleep.”
“I actually wasn’t going to go to sleep just yet.”
You paused for a moment debating on if you should tell him what you were going to do before bed. You were hoping if you did maybe he would talk to you like he did in his bedroom. Hearing him murmur his words and what he said got you wetter than anything else. You could still feel your slick sticking to your legs after you changed your clothes. Hell, it couldn’t hurt, right?
“I just got back from spending some time with this long haired rockstar with a huge cock who got me all hot and bothered so I was going to relieve some of this pressure here.”
You watched the dots on his end appear and disappear. The longer it took him the more nervous you got. Had you crossed a line?
“Don’t talk like that. Be upfront and honest. Talk to me like a big girl. What were you going to do before bed, Y/N?”
You could almost feel his stern eyes through the screen as you rubbed your thighs together.
“I was going to touch myself and think of you.”
His name suddenly popped up on your phone and you didn’t hesitate to answer the call.
“Hey Eddie.”
“Are you still wearing what you had on here?”
“No. I’m naked now.”
“Liar.”
“Eddie, I’m not—”
“Call me back when you’re ready to be a good girl.”
Your jaw dropped as he hung up and you huffed as you called him backed. “How dare you—”
“I don’t play games like that, little girl, and I hate liars. I figured since I got you all riled up and you are no longer on the clock maybe I could help you out. I also thought it would be fucking sexy to hear what you sound like when you cum. But if you want to cop an attitude with me, I can treat you how bratty little girls deserve to be treated. Now…what are you wearing?”
“I’m wearing an oversized t-shirt with my panties from earlier.”
He could hear your pout through the phone and it was making him hard all over again.
“Good. Good girl. Why didn’t you just tell me that in the first place?”
“I don’t know. I just… I always have to be SEXY; you know? God forbid I show any humanity.”
“Not with me, princess. I imagine you look just as sexy now as you did looking up at me with those big, beautiful eyes against my bedroom wall."
“Thank you, Mr. Munson.”
“Of course. Now tell me, baby. You said you were going to touch yourself and think of me. What about me?”
“I was thinking about the way your lips tasted when you kissed me…so good.”
“The cigarette taste didn’t bother you?”, he chuckled making you smile as one of your hands roamed up your shirt to touch your breast.
“No. Not at all.”, you giggle back, biting your bottom lip.
“That’s good. I’ve had some complaints.” You can hear him smile and your fingers run along your nipple as your exhale heavily. “What are you doing over there, honey?”
“I’m playing with my tits.”
“Mmm. You did have some perfect tits. Well, from what I saw under that tight ass tank top.”
That makes you genuinely laugh and his smile grows at the sound. “What else were you going to think about?”
Your hand slides under the waistband of your panties as your finger slides through your dripping folds.
“I was going to think about your thick cock against my palm and the way you rubbed against it.”
“Yeah? You’re going to imagine me doing that right now between those gorgeous legs? Grinding my dick against your pretty little pussy.”
“F-fuck, Eddie.” Your eyes rolled back as two of your fingers breached your entrance. “Please…keep talking to me…like that.”
“You like the way I talk to you? Was that something else you were going to think about? Picturing me whispering in your ear like I did when you were here?”
You didn’t know but he was leading you somewhere. There was one thing he wanted, needed to hear you say on your own. As soon as he heard it, he was yours and he would do anything to make you his.
“Yes, I liked hearing you say the things you said.”
Eddie could hear you touching yourself and your little moans were driving him crazy as he quickly pulled down his pants.
“Princess, is it ok if I touch myself to?”
“Yeah, baby. Of course. A-are you—mmm—still a bit sensitive?” The sound of him spitting in his hand had you clench tightly as you whimpered.
“Ah, no, baby girl. But with those sexy fucking whimpers and groans I’m not going to last long.”, he chuckled. “How many fingers are you using?” You barely heard him as you thumb began messaging your clit. “I asked you something, sweetheart. What did I say when you were here?”
“If-if—mmm—you ask…me…something I-I answer.”
“Good girl. Tell me how many fingers you’re using.”
“Fuck…two. Two, Daddy.”
Eddie practically growled with pleasure at the word that he had been praying would fall from your lips.
“Jesus, yes. Good fucking girl. I want you to use three. You…you have to prepare that pretty pussy for… Daddy’s big cock.”
As soon as you did as he asked, the English language completely escaped your mind.
“I…your…oh my…” He grunted in your ear reminding you of when he was pressed against you sending you toppling over the edge as you came hard. The sound was almost too much for him as he pictured your cunt spasming around him as you moaned his name just as you had. For the second time that night you made him cum as his spend shot out and hit his stomach.
“Are you ok?”, you mumbled, drunk off your orgasm.
“Yeah, sweetheart. I’m alright. Are you?”
“I’ve never called anyone Daddy before.” You had no idea why you were being so honest with him. That wasn’t necessarily something he needed to know but for some reason you thought maybe the knowledge of that would make him feel special. You wanted him to feel good.
“What made you say it now?”
You scoot your body further into your bed as you curl up into your sheets.
“I feel safe with you. I know that sounds so weird. We barely even know each other but I do…”
You listened to the soothing sound of his breath into the phone as he absorbed what you were saying.
“I’m sorry I snapped at you earlier. I can be a bit of an asshole sometimes.”
“I can handle the asshole.” You smile when you hear him softly laugh.
“On Friday, we’re going to be spending some time at the recording studio. Do you want come by and listen to us play?”
“I would love to but I have to work Friday night.”
“How about you come by in the afternoon and then go to work? Are you…um…”
“No, side business Friday. I’ll just be dancing.”
“Ok, cool. Maybe when we’re done, I can meet up with you after.”
“Eddie…I like you a lot but are you sure you want to do this? I strip and I have sex for money. I’m not proud of it but I’m not ashamed of it either. I’m doing what I have to do right now.”
He was silent for a moment as he thought about what you were saying.
“Y/N, I’m not perfect. I’ve been arrested, gotten into fights with paparazzi, and like I said I can be a bit of an asshole. I like you a lot to but I understand that this is all new. You and I lead interesting lives. I’m not…going to harp on you and I’m not going to, I don’t know, offer to fucking save you or whatever other douchebags say.” You laugh making him smile. “But I would like to take care of you…physically, mentally, emotionally…financially.”
“I don’t know how to give up control like that.”
The way you say that makes him want to scoop you up in his arms and cradle you into his chest.
“Do you work tomorrow?”
“No, not tomorrow.”
“Can I come over so we can talk? We’re doing this stupid photoshoot thing but I can come over after and bring some food. Of course, only if you’re comfortable. That’s all that really matters to me, baby girl. I want you to be comfortable.”
You don’t know why but you believed him when he said it. What was it about this man that had you breaking all your normal rules?  Not just rules with the business but in your life. You had been on your own for so long that you didn’t need nor want to become involved with someone. However, it would be nice to have someone take care of you for once…
“Okay, Daddy”

Are You Gonna Let Me In?
Summary: Wednesday would do anything for her ghoulish girlfriend… inspired by In My Room by ICP
Pairing: Wednesday Addams x fem!ghost!reader
Warnings: murder, death, language, Wednesday kills a cat which might be emotional for some people (apparently)
a/n: guys I’m like really fucking tired. Anyway, here’s a little Drabble bc I’m in between writing fics 🤭🤭
Tumblr media
2:45 am. Her alarm went off…
Wednesday Addams, many people thought of her as odd. She talks to no one and she walks alone. She avoids sunlight with a chalky tone.
After school, she heads back to the dorm. She doesn’t say hi, there’s no one there. She doesn’t care, she heads up the stairs. She walks into her room, gets in bed and waits for dark, because that's when the real show starts.
Tap, tap on the glass go the piece of ass
So young and pretty, it’s too bad you passed. But you come to her room and talk at night, demonic and bloody but you hold her tight. In her bedroom with you, she’s never alone.  And she kisses your cold lips until the morning comes. When you’re gone, she can still hear your voice loom, but you only exist in the dark of her room.
Love, I can't ignore you
In my room
Do anything for you
Love, I do adore you
In my room
You and I
Love, I can't ignore you
In my room
Do anything for you
Love, I do adore you
In my room
You and I
She tries to smile a lot but she’s always frontin’. But she loves a ghost and at least that’s something. You don’t talk much but when you do it gets cold. Usually you just lay there, where you hold each other. You’re her lover, she doesn’t need others.  One of her roommate’s cats jumped up on the covers and it scared you because you don’t like cats, so she twisted its fucking head off at the neck.
“Look baby, it’s bloody, it’s gone, it’s doomed. Please! Come back to the room!” She pleaded as the sunrise rose through the window.
“I’d do anything for thee, don’t ignore me. This is more than a sick love story.” Without you she’d bring a shotgun to school, and she will if you want her to, for any reason. She hates that you leave when the lights come on and if she had it her way, the fucking sun would be gone.
Love, I can't ignore you
In my room
Do anything for you
I do adore you
In my room
You and I
Love, I can't ignore you
In my room
Do anything for you
I do adore you
In my room
You and I
Sometimes you kiss her, she starts shaking. You slip her the tongue and you taste like bacon. Uh oh. Something’s wrong, you’re upset. You told her you were spotted by Xavier.  You can’t come back now cuz he know your secret.
Unless I can make him keep it… If I do, she may come to life… She thinks
Now she’s outside their door with a ghotgun and knife. Kicked down the door, went in and found the kid. Blew a bowl of spaghetti in the side of his head. Then Ajax was next, runnin’ down the hall. She shredded his throat and he was quick to fall. She tossed the Mossberg and gribbed the knife, started stabbing the shit out of Enid. She went back to her dorm with a job well done, washed up and waited for her baby to come.
Love, I can't ignore you
In my room
Do anything for you
I do adore you
In my room
You and I
Love, I can't ignore you
In my room
Do anything for you
I do adore you
In my room
You and I
She waited two or three day, four days, waiting for the tap tap like always. She waited and hated this. She created a bloody mess
She waited two or three months, four months, waiting for the tap tap just for once. She waited and hated this. She created a bloody mess.
She waited two or three days, four days, waiting for the tap tap like always
“Where is she?” She paced the dorm
She waited and hated this
“Why isn’t she coming back?”
She created a bloody mess
She waited two or three months, four months
“I fucking killed those people!”
Waiting for the tap tap just for once
“Where the fuck is she?”
She waited and hated this. She created a bloody mess.
She waited two or three days, four days
In my room
Waiting for the tap tap like always
“I can’t believe I did it.”
She waited and hated this
In my room, you and I
She created a bloody mess
“I killed them!”
She waited two or three months, four months
In my room
Waiting for the tap tap just for once
She waited and hated this
In my room, you and I
She created a bloody mess

March 3, 2023
Not even a month had passed and I could still see it all in my mind. I hadn’t spent a second not thinking about him, kicking myself and cursing his stupid codename or whatever. I felt so unlike myself, giggly and stupid, begging God for one more chance to see him, swearing I’ll take advantage of it like he doesn’t turn me to mush. I’m confident enough to flirt with him, to toy with him the way I do them all. But I don’t have it in me to actually make a move, or even insinuate that I want him.
And what would happen if I had him? He’d probably get up and leave right after wrecking me, his self intact and mine done for. He’d walk out, and I’d go back to barely ever seeing him. If ever again. Who knows when he’d stop being sent to my town? Why did I want that so badly? Something I couldn’t even have, not really? Something that I knew would ruin me and my life to a point I couldn’t come back from? Something that would turn me into a worse person than I already was?
I craved it, though. I told myself I could handle having him once then never again. I could handle not knowing where he was after, and not having any contact. I could handle the fact that I was falling over the edge and there was no way it would end well.
I decided I needed to take my mind off of it, and what better way than with someone else? This particular guy had been begging me for a date for months, and he was cute. What harm could come from saying yes? I didn’t want to be with him or anything, but maybe a little flirting, a little attention, a little more could clear my mind of that mask.
So there I was, sitting at the table across from… oh, what was his name again? Dave? Don? Danny? Oh! Drake. It was definitely Drake. I think.
He was going on and on about his plans to get out of the military and open his own sporting goods company. Great dreams. I couldn’t see him actually achieving them.
My phone buzzed on the table, and I held a hand up to stop his rambling, “That’s all great, give me just a second, though.” He seemed a little dumbstruck that I’d had the audacity to shut him up, but stayed silent as I walked away to answer Sabrina’s call.
“Dude, where are you?” she spoke from the other line, “I’ve texted you like ten times.”
“I’m on that date, remember?”
“Date? You didn’t tell me about a date,” I could hear the smirk in her voice, “How’s that?”
“Oh, perfect. I was just about to ride off into the sunset on his white horse when you called,” I groaned, and she giggled.
“Well come to the bar, save yourself from that misery.”
“The bar? Why?”
“Just come to the damn bar!”
I jumped slightly at her tone, she could be assertive when she wanted to. “You got something sketchy up your sleeve?” I asked, eyebrows raised though she couldn’t see me.
“Just come! Please!” This time she was pleading, and I sighed.
“Anything is better than being here with Mr. Future Entrepreneurs of America. I’ll be there in a sec.”
I briefly wondered how I was going to get out of the date, then realized, what would he do if I just told him I had somewhere to be and left? Probably nothing, just stare at me dumbly.
I sauntered to the table, pulling 30 dollars out of my bag.
“This should cover my part. I’ve gotta go,” I hummed, beginning to turn on my heel, but he stopped me with a hand on my arm. God, I hated being touched.
I swung around, already annoyed, and he crumbled a bit under my stare but plowed onward, “I thought we were having a good time.”
“Yeah, sure, it was great,” I shrugged, “Just gotta go. I have somewhere to be. You can keep my food when it comes, take it home or something.”
“Do I at least get a goodnight kiss?”
“Do you think you deserve one?” I raised a brow and his expression was comical, in disbelief I would say such a thing.
“Yes,” he nodded frantically, “You’re leaving early, skipping out on a date you agreed to! It’s the least you could do!”
“Fine, if it means no hard feelings,” I shrugged, leaning down and slotting my lips against his before I could talk myself out of it. It was just a kiss. It didn’t matter at all. Kisses never really did.
It was okay, except it wasn’t really okay at all. I pulled away, giving his cheek a tap before walking off to my getaway car.
The drive to the bar was quick, I was already downtown so it only took minutes to pull into the small parking lot. The only spot open was in the alley, naturally, so I went for it. I could hear Ghost’s voice in my head, telling me not to do it, and I hadn’t been! But desperate times, you know what I mean?
I got out of the car, bag in hand, and smoothed out my dress. It was a purple slip with floral black mesh over top of it, and I thought it looked great on me, highlighting the right curves and smoothing over the wrong ones. I was also wearing heels, black stilettos, they were very femme fatale. Fully satisfied with my appearance, right down to my big curls and my deep red lips, I walked inside.
Sabrina noticed me immediately, sprinting for me.
“Fuck, you look hot!” she squealed, and I was too preoccupied with her to see who was sitting at the bar. “Someone is here to see you!”
I turned to where she was gesturing, and there was Ghost, sitting at a turned around barstool facing us, hands folded in his perfect lap.
“What is he doing here so soon?” I gasped, throat going dry and heart pumping extra hard.
“I’m not sure, but he came here asking about you and I told him you weren’t working. He was gonna leave but I said I’d get you here, and, well, he waited,” her voice sounded extra sweet on the last word, as if she almost couldn’t believe he’d done it. As if it was the most precious thing in the world, and maybe it was.
“You couldn’t have warned me he was here?” My anxiety flared up, and I was suddenly feeling self conscious, worried my dress wasn’t covering me enough, worrying I couldn’t walk well enough in my heels. I wanted his approval, I wanted him to like what he saw, and fear that he wouldn’t ripped through me like a current.
“I told you, you look hot, stop stressing. Now go talk to him!”
I nodded, steeling my resolve and walking his way. He was waiting there, expectant, and I stopped right in between his open legs.
“I heard you were asking about me?” I smirked coolly, more confidence than I actually had dripping from me like syrup.
“Words gets around fast here, huh?”
“What’re you doing back so soon? Not that I’m complaining, I’m just used to having to wait until I’m absolutely desperate to see you and then somehow you pop up.”
“You aren’t desperate to see me now?”
“Maybe a little,” I shrugged dismissively, “You were kind of an ass last time, so.”
“I wasn’t an ass, I was trying to help you.”
“By yelling at me?”
“There you go again, lying. I didn’t yell, I was stern with you. I have a feeling you like when a man is stern with you, so why are you whining?” My cheeks went red, burning with embarrassment.
“You’ve got all kinds of things to say tonight, huh?” I gasped, “But really, what are you doing here? You’ve been sent back already?”
“No…” he started, hesitant to continue, “I had a few days of leave and wanted to come here and check on you.”
The words rolled over and over in my head. He had leave, personal time, and he used it to see me. I couldn’t help but get all starry eyed and cursed myself for being such an idiot.
“Checking on me, soldier? If I didn’t know better I’d think you cared.”
He groaned, eyes rolling and they looked so pretty that way. “What happened in the alley was a lot, I wanted to make sure you were okay, especially after being kidnapped there.”
“It would’ve been a lot if you hadn’t been there, but you were.”
“I was.”
It was silent for a moment, just eyes locked on each other, and I cleared my throat, “I’ve been parking in the lot and not the alley, and I haven’t walked alone once. Just like you said.”
His eyes crinkled like he was smiling, “Good girl.”
My mouth fell agape, and I couldn’t help my reaction to that, squirming just a little, breath hitching. He noticed, eyes widening for a second before falling to their normal spot. He placed his hands on my hips, looking me up and down.
“Who’re you wearing this for, love?” he asked, and I blushed hard. Telling him I had a date would ruin the mood for sure, right? Oh well, it didn’t matter. He didn’t own me, I could do what I wanted to do.
“I had a date.”
“Yeah, Sabrina told me. Was it nice?”
“What do you think?” I huffed out a laugh and he just stared, “I’m here, aren’t I?”
“So what was it then? He wasn’t interesting enough for a girl like you?”
“Not nearly,” I pondered for a moment, “And he was a bad kisser.”
I hoped my words would make him jealous but his face was unreadable. “Bad kisser, huh? How?”
“How?” my brows furrowed. Did he really expect me to explain it to him? In detail? That was mortifying but he just stared like he always did and clicked his tongue.
“How.”
“Well…” I tried so hard not to stumble over my words, and he noticed it, I knew he did. “It was… it was too fast, but too slow somehow too. Like he wanted to rush it but even then he couldn’t keep up.”
“Keep going,” he encouraged when I paused, and I sighed, plowing on.
“His mouth was cold. Kisses aren’t supposed to be cold, you know? And it was so wet…”
“Isn’t it supposed to be wet?”
“Not the way his was.”
He grunted, scanning me over again, stopping on my rosy cheeks. “You nervous?”
“N-no,” I stuttered out, feeling scrutinized under his gaze.
“You are.” He sounded… amused? “Guess Miss Heartbreaker finally met her match, yeah?”
“Yeah,” I agreed before I could help myself.
“You gonna sit beside me or you gonna keep standing there? Not that I mind…” His hands squeezed my hips, holding me tight right in front of him.
“I’ll sit,” I nodded once and he let me go, turning away from me, leaving me cold. I inhaled deeply before slipping onto the stool next to him, and Sabrina smirked at me from the other side.
“Here you go, hot stuff,” she handed me what I usually got, a Malinu pineapple, and Ghost snorted.
“I’d think a girl like you would drink the hard stuff.”
I rolled my eyes, “A girl like me drinks whatever the hell she wants. I happen to like it sweet.”
“Yeah?” he mumbled, and the timbre in his voice turned my cheeks red. God, I had to stop letting that happen, I was embarrassing myself. I was not the kind of girl to turn into soup! I needed to remember who I was and… and…
His hand landed on my thigh and my train of thought got lost there. Something about remembering something?!
“You two look cozy,” Sabrina mused, small smile playing about her lips as she winked at us. I just laughed, small and meek, focusing in on the small circles his gloved thumb was rubbing into my skin. Jesus, act cool, I kept reminding myself but to no avail. I was like a girl who’d never been touched or something, desperate and whiny. I wanted him bad and I could tell it was written all over my face by the way Sabrina smirked at me. “You want another one, Ghost?” she gestured to his empty glass. He gave her a small nod and she got to making it.
It was then I realized something. She’d been texting me for about half an hour before I finally responded. Did that mean… did he wait that long, not even knowing if I would show up at all? Not even knowing if I would answer her? My breath hitched once again.
He lifted his mask to his nose so he could take a small sip from his new glass, and I tried so hard not to stare but I couldn’t manage. I wanted any glimpse of the mystery I could get.
“You’re staring.”
“I’m curious.”
“You’re nosy.”
I rolled my eyes, leaning a little closer to him, “You ever gonna show me what you look like under there, Ghosty?”
“No,” his word was flat, with a sense of finality, and I pouted. “Nobody has seen what’s under here, love.”
“Sounds like a lonely existence.”
“Loneliness is part of the job,” he shrugged, taking another sip before putting the mask down. I couldn’t help but notice how much nicer his words sounded when I could see the his lips forming around them.
“Is that why you keep coming back to see me? I make it better?”
“You’re being cocky again.”
“Answer me anyway.”
“Yeah, that’s why,” he grunted, and he was telling the truth. I smirked for a second, feeling like I got part of my power back. “You distract me.”
“So I’m just a distraction, then, huh?”
“No, you’re also a pain.”
I laughed, and we fell into easy conversation. Well, as easy as it can get with him. Sabrina joined in at times, making her little comments about us as always.
“The bar is closing soon,” I sighed as I noticed the clock on the wall.
“Yeah.”
“Guess that means this is it, huh? You’ll go back and I won’t see you again for a while?”
“Guess so.” I tried to mask my disappointment with a smile but he saw right through it. “Unless you want to go somewhere else?”
“Like where?”
“Well… we could go sit on the beach for a while. I’ve done that a few times when I’ve been here.”
I smiled, feeling like I was getting a peek inside the hard exterior. “Let’s do it!”
And we did. We walked the few blocks it took to get there, my heels eventually killing my feet so I took them off. He grabbed them from my hand and carried them for me, leaving no room for debate, and in minutes we were on the sand. He found a bench for us to sit on, brushing the sand off of it for me.
“Thanks,” I hummed as I settled in, and he plopped down as gracefully as a man his size could beside me. He grunted in response, as usual.
“Nice night,” he commented after a moment of silence.
“A little cool,” I shrugged, rubbing my arms swiftly to warm myself up.
“I bet it is, in that dress.”
I rolled my eyes, “What’s wrong with my dress?”
“It’s just clear what your intentions for that date were before you realized he was a loser.”
“What’s it to you?”
“Nothing. I know you’ve been thinking about me. I know that wouldn’t have stopped you.”
My breath caught in my throat. What an absolute asshole.
“Who’s cocky now?” I huffed, “I have not been thinking about you.”
“Liar.”
My eyes shot up, “You’re the one who keeps coming back for more. I live here. I work here. I’m not choosing this, you are.”
“I never said I don’t think about you,” his voice was low. “I just said you think about me, and you’re trying real hard to deny it.”
I rolled my eyes, “Whatever.”
“Gotta keep that man eating reputation up, huh? You hate that I see right through you.”
“I didn’t come here to be criticized.”
“I’m not criticizing you.”
“Then what are you doing?”
“Talking.”
I turned away from him, pulling my knees to my chest, exposing my ass to the world but I didn’t have a care to give. He slipped his jacket off, though, draping it over me, protecting my modesty and warming me up. It was the same one from the very first time I saw him. “Thank you.”
“Do you ever worry that all that teasing you do is gonna piss the wrong person off? Seems like it already has a time or two.”
“I’ve told you before, I can take care of myself.”
“I’m sure you can, darlin’. Just wondering why you do it is all.”
“I don’t wanna be psychoanalyzed.”
“I’m not psychoanalyzing, I’m asking.”
I thought for a moment, “You know? I don’t have an answer for you.” He just stared. “You’ve got your secrets, and I’ve got mine.”
“I suppose that’s fair.”
“When you open up some, though, I’ll be happy to spill my guts about what daddy and mommy did to make me this way.”
He let out a light chuckle, and I loved the sound of it. The way it sounded like a secret because he so seldom let it out.
“One day a long time from now, we’ll make it a date.”
As his words settled in, I realized I couldn’t wait for that day to come.

The Oddest of Odd Jobs
Captain Piercing Sunlight rubbed her knuckles together, making yellow scales click. It was a more worrying sign of agitation than when Paint did it. The good captain was concerned.
“I imagine more opportunities will be posted soon,” she said, staring up at the job board. Not a single one of the posts was a request for a courier ship, or even passenger transport. It was all local stuff for this colony world. Surprising, really, since the people living here surely needed stuff they couldn’t make for themselves yet, but nobody seemed to be asking for a delivery.
“We could try the other colony,” Kavlae suggested, pointing vaguely over her shoulder while a gust of wind ruffled her head frills. With the sky-blue tone of her skin, she looked cold in the breeze, but that was normal. “I spotted a big spaceport while we were coming in.” Kavlae always noticed alternate landing sites; it was part of what made her a good pilot.
Before Captain Sunlight could reply, Zhee hissed sharply, which I’d learned was the bug-alien equivalent of a skeptical snort. “They’ll know we came from this one,” he said. “The local news said there’s feuding already.”
“What, really?” Kavlae asked while Captain Sunlight sighed deeply. “Weren’t the colonies started by the same group? They’ve got the whole planet to share, and they’re feuding?”
“Territorial species,” Zhee said with a dismissive click of his pincher arms. “Not enough food-plants to go around, apparently.”
“Keep your voice small,” warned the captain with a pointed glance at the nearest large passerby, who could crush any of us with a single hoof. Not a species to insult carelessly, or even on purpose. Six limbs, two of which were sometimes arms, lots of muscle, and even antlers. Nobody had told me the species name yet, but I was privately calling them Space Moose.
“Fine, fine,” Zhee said, folding his pinchers grumpily and glaring up at the board.
Captain Sunlight looked up as well. “Is there anything on here that looks do-able?” she asked, addressing all three of us.
I studied the grid of job posts. The rest of our crew was busy getting supplies — I hoped we weren’t about to skim over something that another person would catch. But just as I thought it, my eyes fell on a posting from a human ship.
“Oh, someone lost a dog!” I exclaimed, pointing. “They couldn’t find it before they left. That’s so sad.”
“We can keep an eye out,” Captain Sunlight said. “Our ship doesn’t have any of the fancy bio-scanners for seeking out that sort of thing.”
I read the whole post, looking for details. A three-year-old husky, male, “exceptionally fluffy,” named Matt. Which was short for Mattress. I loved him already.
“How recent is the post?” Kavlae asked.
“Just two days ago,” I said. “I hope the dog is okay. It says they last saw him at the edge of town.”
“There is a thriving ecosystem here,” Captain Sunlight reminded me gently. “The animal can surely find its way.”
“But he’ll be lonely,” I said, forlorn. Poor Mattress.
Before I could whine about it further, Zhee laughed and pointed at a different post, tapping it with one of his little wrist fingers. “Look at this. Anyone fancy being an exorcist today?” At his tap, the post unfurled a map and a sound clip. He pressed play.
A very familiar yodeling howl filled the air. Unsettling, if you were an alien herbivore. A glance at my crewmates showed that none of them recognized it either.
I grinned. “You guys, we have to be exorcists today.”
* * *
“We saw it again just last night,” said the enormous space moose, his deep voice going high with nerves. “It actually went into our shed, and no one is ready to go see if it’s gone yet.”
“I will check for you,” I assured him. Captain Sunlight was letting me take point on this job, and Zhee was doing his best to keep his sarcasm to himself. Kavlae looked nervous.
“You don’t need anything else?” the space moose asked. “Armor, weapons?”
“No, I’m pretty sure this ghost is friendly,” I said, holding up the only two things I had brought: a sheet of fish jerky and a clip-rope from the cargo bay. “At least, he should be happy to see me. But you guys stay back, okay?”
The towering behemoth was more than ready to stay behind. Several other moosey faces peered through a long window in the house nearby. They hadn’t even come outside. Captain Sunlight told Zhee and Kavlae to stay where they were, and to give the human space to work.
I looped the rope over my shoulder and approached the shed on quiet feet. The post had said the dog wasn’t aggressive, but I knew full well how unpredictable fear could make an animal. (People too, really. All the more reason for the others to hang back.)
The shed was big, more what would pass for house-sized where I was from, and it just seemed to get bigger. Plain-looking otherwise. Flat beige walls and a slanted roof, no windows. A door that stood open. A spill of pellets all over the floor, which proved to be from the torn corner of a bag like I’d seen at the market.
Grain stuff, so hopefully okay for a dog’s system, I thought, hesitating outside the doorway. As long as he didn’t eat more than his stomach can hold. Here’s hoping it tastes bad.
I cleared my throat. “Ma-att,” I singsonged. “Matt! Mattress! Here, boy!”
A rustle and a thump was all the warning I got before a very large and exceptionally fluffy dog charged out and tackled me to the ground.
The moose bellowed in panic and my crewmates shouted. Mattress licked every inch of my face, prancing and whining while I did my level best to sit up.
“It’s okay!” I called out between licks. “He’s just happy! Here, boy, do you want a treat?” I scrabbled for the jerky that I’d dropped, and managed to redirect the dog’s attention without losing a finger. I got to my feet while he tore at the jerky, tail wagging at light speed. Good thing it was the soft kind of fish jerky. At this rate, he might have hurt himself on the stiff kind.
“Are you all right?” Captain Sunlight asked from where she stood.
“I’m fine!” I said with a wave.
She and the other two had stepped away from the space moose, who seemed to be making an effort to breathe his way through a panic attack. I didn’t blame them. The poor guy looked equally likely to pick fight over flight.
Better get everybody settled, I thought, turning back to Mattress and finding the rope where it had fallen. He had a collar, thankfully. While he finished gulping down the food, I clipped the rope to his collar and wrapped the end around my hand multiple times. Then I stroked that thick fur and murmured praises.
“Is it safe?” asked the space moose in a strained voice.
“Yes, just a moment,” I said as Mattress started prancing about again. “Matt, sit.”
He sat. Huzzah. I stroked his head, and his tail thumped the ground with gusto.
“Good dog.” I took a step and tugged the leash. “Heel.”
He sprang up and trotted after me, tail wagging and tongue lolling, though with slightly less chaos-gremlin energy.
“Good boy,” I said, then led him over to where everyone waited. I didn’t get too close. “Sit,” I repeated. He sat.
The space moose was calming down admirably, though his eyes were still a little wide. “You do seem to have it well under control,” he admitted. “Thank you.”
“My pleasure,” I told him. “This guy just wants to go home. We can handle that.”
“You have my gratitude,” the moose said. “And now, money. Extra for speed.”
Captain Sunlight handled that part, while I stroked Mattress in a subtle search for injuries or problems stuck in his fur. He returned the favor by licking my ear with far too much saliva. I tried not to grimace, and wiped it off with my sleeve. “Good dog.”
“All right, let’s get this animal to the ship,” Captain Sunlight said.
“I’ll call up the owners for you as soon as we get there,” Kavlae said, checking her pocket communicator for the phone number from the post. We’d all saved copies.
“I’m sure they will want to see their animal in the cameras,” Captain Sunlight said, turning to me. “I trust you can keep it calm inside the cabin?”
I assured her that I could. We said our goodbyes to the space moose and his family watching from the house, then headed back to the spaceport.
Mattress followed happily, though judging by the panting, he was thirsty. There probably hadn’t been much to drink in that shed, and the jerky on top of alien kibble was bound to make things worse.
“We’ll get you a bowl of water right away,” I promised him. “Okay, boy?”
Mattress looked up at me with alert ears and that particular doggy smile.
Captain Sunlight got out her own phone. “I’ll have Wio ready one for us. How big of a bowl do you need?”
“Um, just have her fill one of the smaller cookpots. He looks pretty thirsty.”
Kavlae asked from a fair distance away, “How can you tell?”
“He’s breathing hard,” I said. “With his tongue sticking out like that.”
Zhee was also giving the dog a wide berth. “Is that why it’s doing that?” he asked. “I assumed the animal was showing off its teeth for the benefit of anyone who might offer it harm.”
“No, he’s smiling!” I said. “Look at that; that’s a happy face. Just a little thirsty.”
Zhee muttered something disparaging about predators being allowed in close range. Kavlae laughed, and Captain Sunlight shook her head.
I looked from face to face. “You guys don’t keep pets, do you?” I asked. “None of you?”
“None like that,” Captain Sunlight said. “Nothing that could kill us, no.”
“He wouldn’t do that!” I said with an exaggerated ruffle of Mattress’s fur. “He’s a good dog! And look how fluffy! Such a nice soft pillow, he’d probably let you take a nap on him.”
“No thanks,” said Zhee. “I don’t see the appeal.”
“You don’t see the appeal? Do—” My smile slipped when I really looked at Zhee’s exoskeleton. “I don’t think you can fully appreciate the feel of soft fluffy things, can you?”
Zhee’s unimpressed scoffing confirmed my suspicions. I looked to Captain Sunlight, and her own scaly hands. “What about you? Not a big deal?” I didn’t wait for her answer before turning to Kavlae, the vaguely fishy humanoid with frills everywhere. “You have proper skin! Come pet this dog!”
She didn’t want to, but under my insistence and Mattress’s continued good behavior, she finally edged forward and brushed a hand across the copious floof.
“Oh, that is soft,” she said.
“See? And he is such a good boy.” I patted him some more, and he responded by licking both of us.
Kavlae yelped, pulling back.
“It’s okay,” I hurried to say. “That means he likes you.”
“Oh,” Kavlae said. She sniffed her hand, then retched. “Oh, he smells!”
I looked down at him and had to admit, “Yeah, that’s another thing dogs do.”
“To the ship!” Captain Sunlight announced. “For water, a phone call, and then a thorough cleansing! Which I’m sure our favorite animal expert can handle, yes?”
I sighed. “Yes. I won’t enjoy it, though.”
Zhee hissed a laugh. “Maybe you can take a nap on the creature afterward.”
“Maybe! Just you watch. Might have to tire him out a bit first though. I’m sure nobody would mind a game of fetch in the cargo bay, right?”
Captain Sunlight gave me a look, but she didn’t say no.

g1deon and pyrrha + gideon and harrow throughlines scattered in all of tlt continue to drive me insane.
the initial investigation scenes post the 5th deaths where the 2nd house tries to pull cohort rank control of the situation, gideon & harrow immediately sneak away to learn that the winnowing trial was developed by the second house and cohort founders, g1deon & pyrrha. winnowing as incorporating the other, refusing distractions for the sake of true control, loyalty and duty.
gideon is wearing his sunglasses, rifling through their things. she doesn’t see it as a real place someone would live in, only a stop along the way to somewhere else, more whole.
she sees a gun on the wall that her mother's ghost will use the river memory of to try and kill harrow in the dream of cannan house:
It took Gideon a long time to realise that she was looking at something goddamn ancient: it was a blowback carbine gun. She’d only ever seen pictures. ….. The hairs on the back of Gideon’s neck had risen when the lights came on, and they hadn’t gone back down, as if her intrusion might well tempt time back to claim its grave goods. GTN chapter 19
Carbine rifle, read the key. For a moment she pitied Judith Deuteros’s last seconds. To be killed with this ancient piece of grave goods! It would have been like being set upon by a ghost out of time. HTN chapter 18
gideon reads "one flesh, one end" for the first time. she tells harrow these people were living in each others pockets, the same phrase she'll later use to describe the two of them. pyrrha spent nearly 10,000 years locked in a drawer in gideon the first’s mind bc he couldn't bear to let her go. gideon tells harrow how they feel like strangers despite growing up together.
harrow cant stand the thought and in less than a month harrow will lock gideon in a drawer and gideon the first will relentlessly try to kill harrow in her waking hours to spare her the agony he'll never learn is closely parallel to his, and when she fails to hear his real name her brain starts bleeding:
And he had said: “Ortus, have pity.”
“This is my pity, Lord,” said the Saint of Duty. HTN chapter 20
g1deon was john’s oldest friend, he carried that suitcase in his loyalty to him. then he becomes an amnesiac, immortal thanergy void, absorbing and nullifying the echoes of that catastrophe. founding the cohort that flips planets in the exact mirror to the ecological tragedy they all sacrificed everything to spare earth from. over and over again.
He didn’t even ask me to explain. That was the kind of guy he was. He and I had grown up on the same street. I’d spotted him for mince pies all the time as kids, so stands to reason he let me cut off his arm and carried a nuke for me. John 1:20
in g+p’s room harrow says that theyre all the ninth house has ( = you’re all that i have). gideon firmly says shes "NO ONE'S son or daughter"
but in less than a year gideon’s mother, sitting opposite her father, will recognize pyrrha with a sense of profound relief before her revenant is unceremoniously killed. gideon will watch through harrows eyes, in hiding:
Harrow, I will never forget the look on her face as long as I live, or as long as I die. (…) It was the smile for your old cellmate who’d just landed back in prison, the one that told them at least you were in it together—or more correctly, the smile of someone stepping out of jail after serving a very long sentence, having seen someone there waiting for her. Someone whose presence meant total reprieve, someone she hadn’t expected. It was a little bit mocking. It was deeply relieved. HTN chapter 50
i don’t have a conclusion to this rn i’m just……much to think abt. the displacement of grief, the loyalty through control, how it just happens over and over and over again and they just bear witness as tools or trapped souls or revenants, clinging to anything they can even if they don’t remember it.

Pretty Flower - {Neji Hyuga}
Part 2 to this (I’m sorry in advance/ major angst)
Tumblr media
Laying down on the grass you stared up at the sky trying to focus on training but your mind kept going back to that night. Your fingers ghosted above your lips, face blushing each time a memory of the way he kissed you flashed through your mind.
“Y/n?” You flinched and sat up seeing the fifth hokage walking closer and smiling once she recognized who you were. “Fifth Hokage. It’s great to see you.” You spoke in a respectful tone quickly standing up and greeting her, she walked closer and to your surprise her arms engulfed you in a hug.
“What’s going on?” You asked patting her back awkwardly. “I just read your file. Prior to living here you’ve been through a lot…you’ve lost so many people. Is it true that you were on a mission when the fourth hokage died? And that you almost died on a recent mission?” You pulled away hearing her questions.
“I’d rather not talk about it Lady Tsunade.” She let out an exhaustive sigh then placed a hand on your cheek, “if you ever feel like talking then come to me, but for now I’m with holding you from missions.” “What?!” You stepped closer to try and protest but she held her hand up to stop you. “You have no one left. You’re being too lax with your life and I won’t have you killing yourself because you have no one to come back too. Use this time to heal and train. That’s all.” With that she walked away and the tears you were holding started to fall.
Out of pure frustration you punched a nearby tree as hard as you could with a chakra filled fist. You ended up taking out more than one tree but you didn’t care, the blood dripping from your hand didn’t force you to care either. Deciding to call it a night you were walking through the village towards your home with the tears kept blurring your eyes and you ended up bumping into someone.
“I’m sorry.” You said in a whisper gently patting their chest before walking away, it took another few minutes for you to get home but when you did it was like all hell broke loose. Continuous tears fell down your face as the impending feeling of loneliness crept onto you. She was right, you truly had no one…you were alone and you couldn’t do anything about it.
The only family you had died while you were laying around on a mission because you didn’t feel like coming home. And all your life you pushed away affection afraid to feel something more that what you’re used too. Pain. For the rest of the night you cried over things you had no control over.
~
“Has anybody seen Y/n?” Sakura asked walking up to the group, Naruto, Choji, Lee and Ten looked at each other and shook their heads no. “She’s probably sulking at home.” Shikamaru said taking a bite of whatever he was eating leaving the group confused. “What do you mean sulking?” Ten asked.
“Lady Tsunade told her she’s not allowed to go on any missions for a while.” “WHY??” Sakura sat up, “she’s being doing missions since she was ten…why would she stop her?” Choji contemplated. “Exactly. Do you guys know how injured she got during her last mission?” Shikamaru paused looking at the group who shook their head no.
“She almost died, she was in a coma for three months.” He finished his statement then stuffing some more food in his mouth, “No way, she said she liked the scenery that’s why she stayed.” “Lied.” He quickly responded.
“If that is true how come you’re the only one who knows that?” Naruto asked rubbing his chin in confusion, “Because, Tsunade made me go check on her whenever she stopped checking in. I’m the one who reported back to her.” The whole group went silent, after a few moments Neji who was sitting there silent stood up and left the area.
His feet took him straight to your entrance doorsteps. He thought it was weird how you ran into him a couple of days ago and didn’t even recognize that it was him, yes you had tears in your eyes but it was just different for him. It was weird, he was worried about you. More than worried, he was scared that you’d do something to yourself.
He knocked on the door and waited for a moment then knocked again and still no answer. Using his byakugan he found you in a room knees pressed against your chest and your face hidden. He knocked again and when he saw you didn’t even flinch he forcefully opened the door. You still didn’t move, he closed the door behind himself and quickly walked to where you were.
He stood by the doorframe watching you sit there crying. You didn’t even look up to see who the intruder was, you just sat there crying. Neji bent down and pushed his arms under your body to pick you up, he held you flush against his body and brought you to your bedroom.
Laying you down on the bed he was about to feel your forehead to see if you had a fever but you turned your back to him and silently cried. “Y/n-” “just leave Neji.” You harshly spoke voice cracking when you said his name, he stood there contemplating what to do. He’s never seen you this vulnerable, even when you came back from your mission to find the only person you ever really loved was dead. You never broke down, even after years.
“I never listened to you when we were kids so why would I do it now?” He could see you roll yours eyes but that didn’t stop him from pushing you aside and laying in the bed next to you. He pulled your blanket over your body then maneuvered both of your bodies to where you were cuddling up against him. “What are you doing.” You said trying stop your voice from cracking again but failed miserably, uncontrollable tears fell from your eyes once again. You hid your face in his neck and just basked in his embrace.
This was the first time someone ever held you, it was an unfamiliar feeling and your body just broke down. Neji was happy, he was happy that the dam you build was finally collapsing and that he was the one that was here for you. When your sniffles went quiet he glanced down noticing you fell asleep, you looked exhausted. Like you hadn’t slept in days, trying to keep quiet he laid you against your pillow and left you alone in your bedroom.
When you woke up hours later you were met with an empty bed, your face dropped tears prickling in your eyes again but stopped when you heard his voice. “Don’t cry again, I’m right here.” Neji walked into the room with a tray filled with your favorite foods and a couple of freshly picked flowers.
He set the tray down on your lap and then sat down in the chair that was positioned right next to your bed. “Thank you.” You said noticing how dark it was outside, “you’ve been asleep all day, I came in to wake you up.” You thanked him again and started taking a bite out of the food. Your cheeks started to heat up from how good it was, it had been so long since you had home cooked meals that your eyes glasses over.
“Don’t cry. If you want me to cook for you again just ask.”
That statement repeated in your head as you stood there in the rain infront of the tombstone with the small child pressed against your chest. “Neji…” the tears falling down your cheek were being masked by the rain, thankfully so that your daughter wouldn’t see her mother crying.
Your husband alway told you to be strong and to not cry. You weren’t alone anymore, he promised to stay by your side but he lied. If he was supposed to stay by your side then why were you and your two year old daughter standing infront of his grave right now wishing we could be have his home made curry…

TickleTober Day 10 - Ghost
@hexalianrebel-blackfeathers Kinda went in a fun direction with this prompt! I figured I could make a buncha fun ghost puns with Spot as the ler, and I’d like to see a few more fics where he gets to mess around with the spider kids. Thank you again for all the fun requests! As always, I hope you Enjoy!
Lee: Gwen
Ler: Spot
Summary: Gwen gets caught up by The Spot, trying to get back some stolen parts. Spot, not wanting to be caught, retaliates. He doesn’t want to hurt the young hero, though, so he finds a laughable alternative.
Warnings: none! This is a tickle fic, so if you don’t like that, scroll away!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“C’mon Spot! You know how this ends, just give it up!”
Gwen swung on one of her webs, quickly thwipping another and twisting away when a hole went flying at her. That fight with Spot had been going on for a half hour now; she was getting tired. Still, she dodged every attack, finding new ways to zip behind him and try to land a shot.
“Man, you really are just like a ghost, not making it easy on me! I guess you picked a good name!” The so-so villain wasn’t trying all that hard. He had grown somewhat of a soft spot for the arachnid heroes, never giving their fights his all. Still, he left them with a few bruises. The guy had a reputation to maintain, afterall.
Not the jokes again… She grunted, trying to land a few more shots of web fluid on him. The dalmatian-esque villain was surprisingly slippery, using his portals to catch the webs and send them who knows where. He had definitely gotten better with his powers.
He snickered, sending more and more little portal holes her way. “Gotta say, your spirit is pretty impressive! You really don’t give up.” Spot knew how to play their game; it just needed some pizazz. By pizazz, he meant telling arguably funny jokes. For this particular bug, ghost jokes seemed to piss her off the most. So, of course, he told plenty.
“Shut up and hold still!” The joke got to her a bit more than she’d have liked to admit. Gwen lost her cool, abandoning a bit of her regular caution to try and catch him. She charged him, sloppily shooting out a few webs as backup.
Really? He had thought it would be at least sort of hard to get under her skin. Maybe she’s having a rough day. Either way, left her wide open for him to nab her.
Spot shot out two portals, one to distract, and one to detain. Gwen dodged the first one, but the second caught her off guard. She ended up with her arms stuck out in front of her, keeping her from moving anything other than her legs. The spotted villain came up behind her, deciding on a new game. One to both entertain him and distract her from getting back the dinky computer parts he stole.
Snickering right in her ear, Spot came up behind her, hovering his hands over her sides. “We’re gonna play a little game I like to call…hide and shriek.” He tasered her sides, his chuckling only getting more smug as he heard her squeak and muffle giggles. “I’m taking us on a little trip. Don’t want anyone else getting wind of our fun.”
A spot was sent out from his chest, enveloping the both of them. He had portaled them to an old warehouse. Spot may have been a bad guy, but he wouldn’t publicly embarrass her. True, he was gonna wreck the hero’s shit, but he wouldn’t do it around people that would use the info against her… well, in a much worse way than he was about to..
The portal around her hands slipped off before disappearing. Gwen backed up, the bug-eyes on her mask wide, curious and…something that could be read as excitement. Spot chuckled, but decided not to tease her on it. “Better get going, ghostie…”
The teen didn’t need any more persuasion. She bolted, using her webs to catapult herself up and away from Spot. He was planning on counting to ten, but the chase just seemed too fun. Barely five seconds passed before he started to search for her.
Gwen zoomed through the old facility, trying to find a way out. On any other occasion, she wouldn’t have run, instead going after Spot. But right then.. She was in an unfamiliar place, Spot knew one of her main weaknesses, and she wasn’t sure how much web fluid she had left. Pretty much, everything in her screamed to run.
Things weren’t looking too good for her. Spot had a pretty good idea of where the young hero was headed, portaling around to try and find her. Every Time he’d get close, she’d shoot away on a web and leave him in the dust. She was fast, he’d give her that. “You know you can’t win this, little spider! This place is one of my oldest haunts, I know it like the back of my hand!”
Seriously? How many ghost jokes can one guy have? Gwen found a small storage area, filled with crates and an old, dysfunctional crane. Perfect hiding place. The spiderling quickly ducked into the crane’s cockpit, hiding between the seat and the floor. It wasn’t awesome, but it was better than being caught…
Spot chuckled as he portaled into the storage room, seeing the long strand of web hanging from the ceiling. “Awfully big spiders, eh? Better get pest control in here.” He made yet another terrible joke. They weren’t even funny, but to her anxious and giddy mind, it was horrid. Every joke meant he was one step closer.
The villain sent out a few dozen spots, leaving them in random places throughout the room. His plan is to find her, let her think she slipped by him, and snatch her up in a few portals. It was strangely well-thought-out, for one of his plans.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are~!” Spot looked behind the crates, letting his feet slap against the warehouse floor as loud as possible. He knew Gwen was somewhere in the room, he just had to find her.
He combed through the room, checking everywhere. Behind each crate, the rafters, even pulling a few of the crates open. He knew she was probably in the crane, but where’s the fun in just finding her right away? Gotta build up the anticipation.
Gwen was getting antsy. True, she didn’t outright want to be caught, but…she didn’t wanna just leave. That would be letting a villain get away with…computer parts? She couldn’t really remember what he stole, the anticipation getting to her. At she was safe for the-
“Gotcha!”
A hand grabbed her arm, trying to yank her out from the crane’s cockpit. She panicked, predictably shooting out a web and trying to get up into the rafters. What she didn’t expect was to immediately get trapped in a few of his stupid portals.
Shoot shoot shoot…
Gwen thrashed around, tugging at her restrained limbs. She could feel her hands and feet moving, but…they were nowhere to be found. Spot had managed to catch her off guard, trapping her hands and feet in four of his black holes. She was completely stuck, and pretty much defenseless.
“Well well well, what have we here?” Ugh, so cheesy… Spot was right behind her, his slightly nasally voice teasing her. He had known she would get caught, the bastard. This was actually a plan…and it worked. Maybe he had been getting better at the whole “evil dude” thing.
He went behind her, thankfully leaving her mask on her face. “Too bad your plan to ghost me failed...” He knew they were younger than him by a few good years. Best guess, she was 16 or 17. Still, he didn’t want to know that for sure. These kids deserve their secret identities.
Suddenly, ten fingers danced across her sides. Gwen squealed, bubbly laughter unwillingly pouring from her lips. “Sh-shihiHIHIT! GEHEhehet ohoff mehehe!”
“Woah, watch the profanities there, Casper. We’re a family friendly hero-villain pair!” Did he Google bad ghost jokes before the fight? Gwen twisted and turned, tugging at her portal-trapped arms as she tried and failed to stop her laughter. “STOHOP WIHITH THE bahahad johokes!”
He gasped dramatically, stopping his fingers for a moment. He came around to the front of her, hands on his hips. “Bad jokes?! I worked hard on memorizing those joke articles, thank you very much!” So he did look up jokes…
In retaliation to her “hurtful” command, he dug his fingers into her stomach, hoping it was just as ticklish as her sides. He was not disappointed. “NAHAHA- SPOHOHOT! GEHET OHOFF!”
He chuckled lightly, shaking his head. How ticklish are these kids? “And you said my jokes aren’t funny. Look at how hard you’re laughing! I’m hilarious.”
A groan broke through her laughter, his dumb teases making everything worse. She distantly wondered where her feet and hands were, knowing the portals had to spit them out somewhere. But mainly? She was thinking of how much it tickled.
Gwen really wished she’d put more padding in her suit. The thinner fabric was practical, made flipping and twisting through the city easier. It did not, however, protect her very well, especially from this villain’s wiggling fingers. “JUHUST- QUHIHIHIT!”
Now, normally, he would’ve stopped there. But this time…well, she did insult his jokes. That deserved a bit of extra retribution, no? He moved his fingers up to her armpits, drilling his bony fingers into her hollows. Her response made her cheeks heat in embarrassment, the noise one she would forever deny. Gwen Stacy snorted.
“Ohoho, that was fun. Mind letting me hear it again?” Spot dug back into her underarms, and she had no choice but to comply. Miles constantly picked at her about the noise, but to have Spot do it? Indescribably embarrassing.
His jokes really weren’t helping, either. “That’s the spirit!” If he had a mouth, Gwen would duct-tape it shut. Spot had the humor of a middle-aged father, and he abused that fact. It also didn’t help that he apparently knew how to tickle the snot out of them.
Gwen could feel tears of mirth gathering in the corners of her eyes, extra glad that Spot hadn’t removed her mask. Her bright red face and teary eyes are something she would never live down. “P-PLEHEHEASE! NOHO MOHOHORE!”
Okay, time to stop. He removed his hands from her torso, backing up a safe distance before releasing her limbs. The portals spit out her hands and feet before closing, dropping the giggly teen to the ground. Spot crossed his arms, chuckling as the spider woman tried to regain her breath. It was kinda fun.
Of course, he had to get one more joke in. “Ya know, I needed this. Really raised my spirits.” That got him a web to the face-hole. He wiped away the goop, making a portal over to her and nudging her side. She swiped at him; his hand quickly darted back into the portal. Yep, she was fine.
And by fine, he meant about ready to try and capture him again. “Welp, this has been fun. See you around, ghostie.” Spot slipped into a portal, leaving her in the warehouse…alone. Where even was the exit?
Then, as if on cue, a big red “EXIT” light flickered above a nearby doorway. Seriously…?
She pushed the door open, still feeling the giddy buzz in her chest. The bright sunlight of her dimension was a stark difference to the deeper, saturated colors from inside the warehouse. Gwen adjusted her mask, rubbing at her concealed, blushing cheeks. Stupid Spot…
She didn’t totally hate it, though…
Ugh. Gwen shot out a web, flipping up and scanning the city for any signs of the cow-print thief. To be honest, she wasn’t really looking. Her mind was much more focused on what happened a few seconds prior. How did he know? Wait…oh, Miles…
At least he probably got it too. She swung between the buildings, her mind racing with possible payback and diversion ideas. But those stupid ghost jokes… those took corny to a whole new level. She’d have to get some jokes of her own in order. With a special punchline…

He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze, and I wondered if he too would be feeling the happiness that sang in my chest at that moment, like a little miracle had just unfolded before us. It was hard to find another word to describe it. He’d found me. After so many years, he’d found me.

May 20, 1984
Settling into the new home my parents had bought for me turned out to be easier than I’d expected, especially since my friends had moved in with me; we all shared the same space and, slowly but surely, it was shaping up to be our own little slice of paradise, buzzing with music, chatter, and laughter as we got everything sorted.
But everything felt eerily still when I arrived home on that Sunday afternoon. I opened the front door, spotting a few moving boxes still hanging out in the living room. I glanced around, puzzled, eyeing the empty space and wondering where the gang had vanished to. That's when I caught the distant murmur of voices drifting from the kitchen.
"You can't just go after him, James. It's gonna wreck our reputation, have you even thought about that?" Lars' voice carried down the hallway, tinged with irritation.
"You think I give a damn about our reputation when he's out there dissing my girl?" James shot back, his voice tinged with anger. I arched an eyebrow, definitely intrigued now as I made my way closer. I reached the kitchen door to find Lars leaning against the sink, his brow furrowed, while James, so much taller, paced back and forth, his fists clenched. "I couldn't care less. Let him yap about us all he wants, but lay off her. I'm gonna beat the crap out of him, then maybe he'll learn to keep his trap shut."
"Hey, guys," I interjected, and James halted his pacing immediately, both him and Lars shooting me a startled look, like they'd just seen a ghost. A knot twisted in my gut as I realized they were probably talking about something they didn't want me to know about. "What's the deal?"
"Nore!" Lars chirped, a bit too brightly, as he hastily snatched something off the table. I narrowed my eyes, noting it was a cassette tape he was awkwardly trying to stuff into his pocket. "Oh, it's, uh, nothing important!"
"What's that?" I inquired, nodding toward the cassette in his grasp. James shot him a pointed glare, and Lars swallowed hard.
"It's, um, nothing, really! Just..." He stumbled over his words as I closed the gap between us, grabbing his arm and snatching the tape from his grip. "Hey!"
"If it's really nothing, then you won't mind me taking a look, right?" I challenged. James shot me a worried look before striding over towards me.
"Nore, hand it over," he demanded, his tone grave, his brow furrowed. I stared at him, torn between defiance and confusion.
"No," I shot back, turning on my heel and bolting up the stairs.
"Nore!" James called out, chasing after me, but I was already too far ahead. I reached our shared room and slammed the door shut, locking it behind me. James pounded on the door, growing increasingly frustrated. "Nore! Come on, give it back!"
"Unless you've got another girlfriend, this has gotta be about me, right?" I challenged, and he grunted, kicking the door in frustration. "You’re gonna start keeping secrets from me now?"
"You don't get it. It's for your own good. Just let me in!"
I brushed off his demand, which only earned me a frustrated growl from him. Fixing my gaze on the tape in my hand, my heart skipped a beat when I spotted the band name: Megadeth. There wasn't much else on the tape besides handwritten song titles on the label. I'd been keeping tabs on the Californian metal scene enough to know this wasn't just any old tape — it was a demo. I couldn't help but wonder how Lars and James got their hands on it, and what the hell it had to do with me.
"Come on, Nore!" James's pounding on the door grew more urgent as the music began to play, the cassette inserted into the tape deck in our room. "You don't wanna hear this. Trust me!"
I stayed silent, my heart doing some churning uncomfortably in my chest as I recognized Dave's voice emanating from the speakers. I blinked in surprise; I remembered he was scouting for a vocalist for the band back when we were together, but I had no clue he'd decided to take on the role himself. Somehow, that made it all worse; I wasn't prepared to hear his voice. I wasn't ready for the flood of emotions that hearing him but not being able to talk to him, see him, or touch him brought crashing over me. I wasn't ready for the fury radiating from his voice, blazing like a wildfire, channeling all his pain into his music. And then, it hit me what he was singing about.
My only love, something I've never felt / Now you've gone to heaven and I'll burn in hell / I loved you to death!
Oh. Was that why James was so adamant about me not hearing the tape? Could that song possibly be...?
And now I'm down below / And what do I see? / You didn't go to heaven / You’re down in hell with me / And now you’re coming back / “baby take me please!” / I really think I would, if you weren't such a sleaze / I loved you once before, you kept me on a string / I'd rather go without than take what you would bring / I loved you to death!
I chewed on my lip, my stomach twisting as the song came to its end, struggling to make sense of everything I'd just heard. Suddenly, it all clicked. I understood why James had tried to shield me from it; Dave's lyrics were harsh, dripping with anger and bitterness, a far cry from the sweet and caring Dave I once knew. For a fleeting moment, I tried to convince myself it couldn't be about me — but who else could it possibly be about?
For months, I'd been wondering what he'd say if I ever found him. Would he listen? Would he let me explain? And for months, I'd been living with this fear — that he'd hate me, that he wouldn't want anything to do with me anymore. But I'd always held onto hope; hope that I could make things right, that I could clear things up somehow. Yet, that song... It crushed whatever hope I had left.
It hurt me more than I could say.
I stood up and swung open the bedroom door, finding James right there, his blue eyes filled with concern. I threw myself into his arms, trying to hold back the tears. He sighed and hugged me back.
"I warned you not to listen," he grumbled.
"And you were just gonna keep this from me forever?" I asked, my voice shaky.
"If it meant not hurting you, then yeah."
"James, I deserved to know," I said, pulling back to look at him. He reached up and wiped away a tear, his touch gentle on my cheek.
"You're right. I'm sorry," he said softly, planting a light kiss on my forehead.
"Where'd you snag this tape, anyway?"
"Our producer gave it to Lars. Said Dave's using that Mechanix song we had on our album as The Four Horsemen..."
"Those were his songs, James. He's got every right to do so."
"Why do you still stick up for him, even after all this?" he frowned, a hint of annoyance in his voice, then sighed. "Sure, he can use his fucking songs. But he doesn't get to pen this garbage about you."
I shook my head with a sigh.
"It's so not fair," I said, trying to push down the shake in my voice. "He jumped to thinking I'd just cheat on him, replace him outta nowhere. Didn't even give me a chance to explain; just up and left. And I..." James pulled me into another hug as my voice hitched, making it tough to keep talking. "I still miss him. And I wish..."
"Nore..." James murmured, squeezing me tight, and I sighed, shutting my eyes. "You miss him that much? Aren’t you happy with me?"
"Course I'm happy with you," I replied, my voice muffled against him, hugging him close and soaking in the comfort of his scent as I buried my face into his chest.
"Then stay with me ," he said, his voice gravelly, stroking my hair tenderly. "I'm here. And I would never hurt you like that. Maybe it's time to... let this go. I can make you happy, Nore. Promise."
"You already make me happy," I murmured, sniffing softly and pulling away from his embrace, wiping away the tears that insisted on falling. James cupped my face in his hands, giving me a gentle, affectionate kiss on my lips.
I loved James. That certainty had grown in my chest over the past few months until it became unbearable, impossible to ignore. But could I allow myself to forget Dave like that? Could I allow myself to move on and leave behind a love that had changed my life? Even if he hated me, my heart still beat for him. Could I allow myself to let go of that feeling?
Could I?
September 5, 1986
Ever since James and I’d started dating, James had always been warm. Warm and cozy, like a lit fireplace on a winter night, enough for me to always want to be around — always there, always comforting. As we lay together, both totally spent after spending most of the night pleasuring each other, he started planting little, lazy kisses on my neck, his hand resting flat on my belly. His blond locks tickled my cheek, his breath warm against my bare skin.
"I feel like something's off with me," I mumbled, and he stopped kissing me, his lips lingering against my neck.
"I’ll stop if you want me to," he whispered, his arms enveloping me, drawing me snug against his bare skin. James had this knack for drawing me in tighter whenever I hinted at pulling away. He just couldn't resist keeping me close, and honestly, I didn't mind one bit. "Just say the word if you need me to back off," he murmured softly.
"No, it's not that," I replied, turning to face him with a sigh. His blue eyes locked onto mine, curious. I let out another soft sigh, leaning in to plant a kiss on his lips. He responded instantly, pulling me closer, his grip firm.
"What's on your mind then?" he asked, his lips trailing from mine to my neck once more. I sighed again, closing my eyes, my fingers tangling in his hair as heat pooled between my legs.
"I don't want you guys to leave," I admitted, and he paused his kisses, pulling back to meet my gaze. I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks as I looked away. "I know it's part of your job. I know you've been on countless tours, and this one won't be any different. But... I just wish you'd stay, just this once."
James gave a nod, pulling me into a tight hug and planting a gentle kiss on my temple. The whirlwind of tours and gigs wasn't a walk in the park for either of us. Sure, it had its perks, but the constant movement, the jam-packed schedule that I struggled to keep pace with, and the long stretches of time apart definitely took their toll on our relationship. Especially now that the band was hitting new heights of success; I wanted to be there for them every step of the way, but reality dictated otherwise with my own commitments.
It hadn't been such a big deal in the past; after over two years as James's girlfriend and spending loads of time with Cliff and the boys, I was used to the drill. But this time, there was this gnawing feeling in my chest, like something wasn't quite right. It wasn't exactly that I wanted them to stay or that I wanted to tag along but couldn't; it was more like I just didn't want them to leave. I didn't want them out there while I was feeling this jittery, like something was about to go south any second.
"I'm probably being a bit selfish," I admitted, meeting James' eyes.
"Nah, not at all," he countered, running his fingers through my hair and flashing me a grin, clearly trying to lift my spirits. "I'll make it up to you, promise. I'll bring back souvenirs from everywhere we hit. What do you say? We'll be back before you know it, Nore. Trust me."
I gave a nod, a small smile tugging at my lips. There was no point in dumping all my worries on James; things would work out, somehow. I nestled closer to him, giving him a hug before planting a soft kiss on his jawline.
"Meanwhile..." he started, his lips meeting mine as he settled over me. I let out a soft chuckle, looping my arms around his neck; he leaned back, giving me a smile tinged with mischief, his hands trailing up my thighs in a way that sent shivers down my spine, anticipation building within me. "I think we should make the most of my being here while we still can. What do you say?"
"Hmm... sounds like a plan," I answered, and he chuckled, leaning in to kiss me once more.
March 13, 1987
Backstage used to be my sanctuary, but not anymore.
The buzz, the drinks, the laughter, the pounding music — those were the things that used to make me feel alive. Completely in the moment. But ever since Cliff had left us, the whole scene had just become another stress trigger. It was cruel, how I would still catch myself hoping to spot him any minute, beer in hand or puffing on a cig before hitting the stage, tuning his bass with that grin of his like he was born to rock out. Then reality would hit me seconds later, reminding me that I would never see him again.
That he was gone.
That night’s gig marked my first outing since the accident. I only agreed to go 'cause I knew James was missing me like crazy, especially after everything went down. It stung how Cliff's death had torn us apart, making it damn near impossible for us to even be in the same room despite still loving each other; it was all just too raw, too painful to wrap our heads around.
But I stuck it out for the whole show, even though my heart felt like it was being squeezed in a vice seeing the band up there with a different lineup, knowing it shouldn't be that way. Jason, the new bassist, was actually pretty damn good; I knew my aunt and uncle had loved him, and knowing he had their stamp of approval made things a bit easier to swallow. I didn't know him too well yet, but he came off as friendly and laid-back. Plus, his passion for the band and music had me smiling, thinking about how Cliff would've dug having someone with that same fire taking his spot.
Once the show wrapped, I didn't stick around for the inevitable after-party. While James and the guys were all caught up sorting out post-gig stuff, I slipped out the back, lighting up a smoke with a sigh. A persistent headache throbbed away, making me regret coming in the first place.
"Miss you, you dumbass," I muttered to myself, feeling the sting of tears threatening to spill over.
If I'd known that accident was coming, I would've done anything to stop Cliff from stepping foot on that bus. I would've volunteered to take his spot, even crawled into the bed he was in when it all went down. I would've traded places with him in a heartbeat, and I would've gone to my grave with a smile on my face. 'Cause living in a world without him was a nightmare worse than anything I'd ever imagined.
And now, all I could do was wish I would wake up back in our cozy home, catching a whiff of the coffee he used to brew up and hearing his gentle chuckle as he teased Leanne about tying the knot some day, all in that playful tone that barely masked his real longing — to live . To start a family, maybe have some kids, buy a house for his folks, and grow old doing what he loved, soaking up the rewards of his talent.
But none of that was in the cards anymore.
And I had remained, an empty, unrecognizable shell of the lively girl I used to be. I didn't know a life without Cliff — he had been my rock since forever. He'd been there since day one — I mean, literally, he was around before I was even born. We grew up side by side, like two peas in a pod, and now what was left of me was rotten, alone, and meaningless.
What was I without him, if he was such a huge part of who I was?
How many more losses in my life would I have to take?
Suddenly, I remembered Dave. The first boy I'd ever really loved, that kind of love that shakes you to your core. Losing him hurt like hell, no doubt about it. But compared to losing Cliff, it was like small fry. Still, Dave was the first real loss I’d ever faced. When all my efforts to track him down hit dead ends, I had to learn to live with the hole he left behind. After all these years, I still thought about him from time to time, but it didn't sting as bad as it used to.
I couldn't help but wonder if the ache in my heart from Cliff's absence would ever dull down like it had with Dave. Or if I'd have to face an even bigger blow, something that'd make this pain seem like child's play in comparison.
After roaming the city streets for hours, I finally headed back to the hotel. When I got to the floor where the band was crashing, I bumped into Jason, standing by his room’s door.
"Hey, Nore," he said, his voice sounding rough, and I gave him a puzzled look. Was he crying?
"Hey, Jason. You all good?"
"I-I'm good," he mumbled, voice low, avoiding eye contact as he sniffled and wiped his face with his hand. Yeah, definitely not okay.
"You're not out there with the guys. What's up?" I asked, and he glanced up, his brown eyes a bit bloodshot, cheeks flushed.
"It's just... It's been kinda rough trying to fit in with the band. Especially with all these pranks they pull..." he trailed off.
"Pranks? What do you mean?" I frowned.
"Oh, it's nothing!" he rushed to say. "You know, just dumb stuff. It's just that it always catches me off guard, like now... I went back to the room to grab a jacket and found they'd messed it all… Up…" He slowly stopped talking as I brushed past him, turning the doorknob of his room and pushing the door open.
I froze in my tracks, utterly stunned by the sight before me. Jason's room was a complete disaster zone — suitcases torn open, clothes strewn all over, mattress gone, and beddings tangled up in the ceiling fan. Furniture flipped over like a hurricane had blown through. I just stood there, dumbfounded. Whoever did this wasn't messing around — it was straight-up hostility, so blatant it snapped me out of my own sadness and fired me up with anger.
"Jason, who did this?" I spun around to face him, my expression blazing, and he took a step back, clearly rattled.
"Nore, it's no big deal, really..." he started, but I cut him off.
"Whoever trashed your room needs to answer for it. This is not okay! I'm going straight to James; he'll sort this out..."
"No, please," he pleaded, cutting me off. "Please, that'll only make things worse! Don't talk to them, I'm begging you…"
I gawked at him, trying to wrap my head around what I was seeing, the pieces slowly fitting together in a puzzle that made no sense.
"Jason," I began cautiously, "did James and the guys pull this stunt on you?"
He stayed silent, which I interpreted as a confirmation. My gut twisted in discomfort. What were they thinking? That wasn't our style. Sure, we'd get a bit wild sometimes, drink too much, goof around — but deliberately messing with someone? It just didn't add up.
Just then, the elevator chimed, and out stumbled a clearly wasted James, grinning when he spotted Jason.
"Hey, Newkid!" he slurred, stumbling over his words as he came over and slung an arm around Jason's shoulders, who shot him a nervous grin. "Check out the new decor in your room, dude! Pretty rad, huh?" He burst into laughter.
"James, what the hell is this?" I demanded, my voice shaky. He glanced up, looking surprised to see me there.
"Hey, babe. You dipped out, what's the deal?" he asked, dropping his arm from Jason's shoulders and stepping toward me. I folded my arms, taking a step back. He furrowed his brow, confused. "What's eating at you?"
"You tell me. What's the deal with this mess?" I gestured to the chaos in Jason's room. James just grinned, shaking his head.
"Princess, it was just a prank... Come on," he said, reaching for my hand, but I shrugged him off, stomping heavily toward our room. "Hey, hold up... Baby!" James called after me, trailing behind.
Ignoring him, I swung open the door and grabbed my bag, hastily scooping up the scattered clothes and belongings. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall — not now.
"Nore, what the fuck are you doing?" James rushed into the room, grabbing my arm. I shook him off, backing away, glaring at him through teary eyes, my breaths coming in uneven gasps. "Babe, what's going on?"
"How can you even ask? What, you think it's funny to be some kind of bully now?" I demanded, my voice quivering. James shook his head, looking utterly baffled by my reaction.
"Nore, chill out! It was just a prank..."
"What kind of prank is this? This isn't us, James. Why are you guys messing with him?" I snapped, continuing to pack up my stuff. "Cliff would never stand for this."
James took a step back, looking like I'd slapped him. His brow furrowed, jaw clenched.
"And how would you know?" he shot back, and I scoffed, rolling my eyes.
"You think you knew him better than I did, James? Seriously?"
"Nore, it was just a joke..."
"A joke ? Really?" I shouted, tears finally breaking free. "I can't deal with this, James. What's gotten into you? He's not to blame for what happened to Cliff!"
"I get it. Nore, just try to calm down," he said, coming closer and taking hold of my wrists, locking eyes with me. "Take a deep breath, okay?"
"James, this isn't fair," I choked out through sobs. "Can't you see? We've been falling apart since he left. You're angry, and you're bitter, and you're mean , and sometimes I don't even recognize you anymore, and I hate it! And I feel like nothing — I don't feel like me anymore without him. You don't need me like this."
"I do need you."
"I'm fucking broken, James."
"No, you're not!"
"I am !" I burst out, my voice cracking. "You deserve someone who won't lose it over every little thing like this, James. You deserve better than me. I'm not good for you anymore. I'm not good for anyone, for anything."
"So what's the fucking deal?" he asked, his voice shaky, desperate, his blue eyes brimming with pain. "You’re breaking up with me now?"
I didn't say anything, just locked eyes with him, feeling my heart twist painfully as I realized something had broken right then and there. I loved James, but how could I love anyone fully when my pain consumed me like this, leaving little space for anything else? How could I let myself be loved when his anger kept driving us further apart, drowning out our love in all the noise?
I let out a heavy sigh, my breath trembling, and released his hands from mine.
"I'm heading back home. I'll pack up and catch the next flight..." I mumbled.
"Nore, don't do this," James pleaded, reaching for my hands again, but I pulled away.
"I can't, James. I'm sorry. Just... Please, let me go," I sobbed, burying my face in my hands as I sank onto the bed.
Not too long ago, James would've never left me like this. He would've been there, comforting me, holding me tight and never letting go. But things weren't like they used to be, and the world didn't work the way it should anymore.
So, he just walked away, leaving me alone with my pain.
Over the next few years, James and I attempted to patch things up time and time again — but it was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. We just couldn't get back to where we were before. Eventually, we drifted apart and started seeing other people, searching for happiness in different eyes, different embraces, different kisses.
But it was useless.
The ache in my chest lingered, a constant reminder of the emptiness that echoed in both of us. And no matter how hard we tried to keep our distance, we always found our way back to each other. We never went back to using those labels — boyfriend, girlfriend — but we couldn't deny the pull between us. I always found myself drawn back to James, and he always found his way back to me.
Eventually, I got used to that kind of love, a mix of joy and sorrow that felt like the only steady thing in a crazy world, a way to bury my own unhappiness. Over the years, me and the guys stayed tight, because what other choice did we have? They were my family, and I was theirs.
I tried to tell myself that maybe I'd never feel that same spark of life again, but hey, at least I wasn't totally miserable. Even though I'd lost a lot and sadness seemed to follow me like a shadow, I still had some good things left — maybe with time, I could figure out how to move forward again. Maybe this was as good as it got.
I almost bought into it.
Until Dave found me.
February 18, 1992
In the end, it was him who found me.
After all the failed attempts, all the heartache, all the rage, all the emptiness I'd been carrying around for years without him, it all came crashing down in that moment when our eyes locked. Time seemed to stand still, his hand on my shoulder sending a jolt through my body, making my heart lose any sense of rhythm.
"Dave?" I whispered, and the sound of my own voice seemed to stir something in his eyes, an old and familiar pain, but also hunger, happiness, and ecstasy.
It was really him.
It was really, really him.
"Hey," he said, and the normalcy of his answer made me chuckle. He grinned at my laughter, that old, beautiful smile, and my heart seemed to melt into pure warmth and affection.
How could I have lived so long without him?
"Hey," I replied, a smile stubbornly appearing on my face. " What are you doing here?"
"Oh, Junior's dating that Music Now anchor; she hooked us up with some tickets. David, David Ellefson," he clarified, noticing my confusion. "I ended up calling him that. Can't have two Daves in the band, and I called dibs first, so..." He trailed off, a small grin playing on his lips that I couldn't help but mirror. "Wanna grab a table? You were getting some food, right? We can catch up for a bit..."
"Sure thing," I nodded eagerly. We snagged an empty table and settled in. I poked at my food, but my appetite took a backseat with him sitting across from me. Dave seemed both different and the same, all at once. He was still as good-looking as ever, with his ginger hair cascading over his shoulders, warm hazel eyes, and that familiar crooked smile that always got me.
"So, what brings you here?" he asked.
"Oh, I work here," I answered, grinning when he raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised.
"Really? What do you do?"
"I act. Just landed my first lead role in a TV series."
"So you ended up in the arts, huh?" he remarked. "I remember you were tossing around the idea of studying something like that back when... Well, back when we were a thing."
I blinked, feeling the flush rise to my cheeks. I was so thrilled to see him again that, for a moment, I almost forgot how our last encounter had been a train wreck for both of us. How the end of our relationship had left us both hurting and confused. How so many misunderstandings had ruined our love beyond repair.
"Dave," I began, my voice faltering with nerves. "I know it's been forever... But there's so much I want to say. So much I need to explain. I—" I trailed off as he reached for my hand, his grasp enveloping mine, so much larger and warmer, sending my heart racing.
"No worries," he answered, his voice gentle as he kept his gaze locked on mine. "We can talk. I reckon doing it here might be a bit tough, huh? How about we pick a day just for that?"
The idea of meeting up again brought a wave of relief to my face. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze, and I wondered if he too would be feeling the happiness that sang in my chest at that moment, like a little miracle had just unfolded before us. It was hard to find another word to describe it.
He’d found me.
After so many years, he’d found me.
We chatted away for the rest of the party, mostly about work stuff. Everything felt oddly familiar yet different at the same time, and we kind of danced around the real thing: all the emotions we'd been through during our time apart, the fights and secrets that tore us apart when we still cared about each other, and whether we still felt the same way. 'Cause, honestly, I could barely look at him without feeling my whole body fill with a wild happiness, feeling alive like I hadn't felt in a long, long time.
As the party wound down, we lingered by the entrance, chatting quietly while Charlie made the rounds saying her goodbyes. We seized the moment to swap phone numbers, sharing hopeful smiles and whispered words. The night air was chilly, sending shivers down my spine. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to ward off the cold.
"Feeling cold?" Dave asked, already slipping off his blazer and draping it over my shoulders before I could respond. I looked up at him, feeling my cheeks flush, and he grinned. "You can hang onto that. Gives us a good excuse to make sure we see each other again."
The ride home flew by in a blur; I hardly paid attention to Charlotte's excited chatter about the party. Instead, I clung to Dave's coat, feeling its warmth seep into me. His scent lingered in the fabric, intoxicatingly close, like it could drive me crazy.
I must’ve been dreaming, right?
It felt like I was living in a dream. Running into him after all these years, completely by chance, seemed too good to be true. For so long, I'd convinced myself that happiness and hope were out of reach. Turns out, I was dead wrong. I had no clue what the future held — no idea what would come of this unexpected reunion. But the chance to make things right, to clear up the misunderstandings of the past, even just a little bit, felt like a gift too good to pass up.
All I could do that surprising night was hope it wouldn't all vanish by morning. Hope his voice would be there when I called the next day, because I could hardly wait to see him again.
That night, I didn't have any nightmares.

I was near my due date when Griffin called a house meeting.
“Listen guys, as much as I love living here with y’all, I’ll be moving out in a few months. Daria and I are getting married, can you believe it? So we’re moving in together, probably buying a house in the suburbs where we can pretend that we’re real, functional adults.”
Tumblr media
Jessica squealed with excitement.
“Whaaat? You proposed to Daria?”
Tumblr media
“Of course not. She proposed to me.”
Tumblr media
I was stunned. I mean, it wasn’t like it was against the law or anything, but I didn’t know any other girls who had done that.
Tumblr media
“Freya, stop looking like you’ve seen a ghost. Daria is a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to get it. Why should she wait around for me to stop slacking? It’s one of the things I love most about her. She takes charge. Everywhere.”
He winked.
Jessica punched him in the shoulder.
Tumblr media
“Too much information, Griffster. It’s more than enough that we can hear you guys sometimes.”
Tumblr media
“Sorry, I’d ask her to keep it down, but the gag makes it hard for me to speak, you see.”
Tumblr media
“Griffin!”
Tumblr media
“And the handcuffs make it impossible to remove the gag!”
We all laughed, but I couldn’t quite let the mental picture of Griffin and Daria go.
Tumblr media
We had all been unfortunate enough to walk in on them by accident. It was definitely something you only did once before you learned to always knock, even if the door was ajar.
Samuel and I were quite the opposite. He was so careful with me, like I was something fragile, or an easily spooked animal. And not just because I was heavily pregnant, it had been like that since the first time.
Tumblr media
And he wasn’t just controlled in bed. Sometimes, if he was frustrated about something, he felt like a tightly wound spring that could go off at any time, but he never did. Samuel was always measured, composed, and polite.
I wanted to make him lose that control, just a little. The sex wasn’t bad, not that I had much to compare with, but we had definitely never been at risk of disturbing the neighbours the way Griffin and Daria did.
Tumblr media
That night, I was awakened by a dull ache in my back, much stronger than the small twinges of pain I’d been feeling for a few days now. I woke Samuel up.
“I think it’s time.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Is she asleep?”
“Yeah, seems like it.”
Tumblr media
Samuel came over and put his arms around me. For a moment, we just looked at her.
Hailey. Our daughter. We’d made her and now she was here. Even though it had been almost a month, the thought still blew my mind. And scared me.
When I learned to drive, someone told me what to do and what not to do, and gave me a license afterwards to prove that I knew what I was doing. There were no licenses for babies. They just let you take them home from the hospital by yourself, expecting you to figure it out.
It was terrifying. And amazing.
Tumblr media
“Samuel, I want another one.”
He let out a quiet laugh.
Tumblr media
“Another baby? Freya, we just had Hailey. Not only would your body benefit from at least a full year to recover, we also need to figure out what we’re doing when Griffin moves out.”
Tumblr media
“I know. But I want more, I want at least two or three. And I don’t want them to be ten years apart like me and my sister. I want them to be friends.”
Tumblr media
“I get that, but still. And don’t you want some time back at work before we have more kids?”
I looked at Hailey. She was so tiny, so fragile. She depended on us for everything. Back to work meant endless training, weekends and evenings spent on matches. And Samuel would work long hours when he became a resident doctor. We’d be leaving Hailey with strangers for most of the day.
Tumblr media
“No. Samuel, I don’t want to go back. Could we… could I maybe stay at home for a while? I don’t want to get a nanny or send her to daycare. I want to be there for her. And you’re going to be so busy when you start your residency, she’d never see either of us.”
Tumblr media
“Freya, are you sure? If you skip out on your contract, you risk never getting signed again. What if you can’t go back? And how long would you stay home? Have you thought this through?”
“Samuel, this is really important to me. I don’t care about the contract. I want to stay home until we’re done having kids, maybe until the youngest gets ready for kindergarten. And if that takes ten years, then I’ll figure out what to do then. I just – I don’t want to abandon our baby.”
Tumblr media
“Daycare is hardly abandonment. I know you have some issues, but I promise she’d be perfectly fine. But listen, this is your decision, your career, and I’m not going to argue. If you feel this strongly about it, we’ll make it work.”
“I do. Thank you.”
Tumblr media
He put his arms around me again, pressing his cheek against mine.
“I guess I better look for residency somewhere affordable, then.”

who follows the rules anyway?
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6 / Part 7 / Part 8
pairing : anthony lockwood x reader
summary : y/n gets fired from Fittes and seeks refuge with George, only to find out he works with the worst guy she's ever met
word count : 4.5k
content : in this part you get angst, reader and lockwood’s backstory and some plot with a side of ‘i didn’t know where else to go’ in subtext :)))
---
They ate dinner in silence. It was clear that the two guys she had in front of her weren’t used to having people over. They were sitting around the kitchen table, notes and drawings covering the cloth beneath their plates. She read the messages closest to her. Many were about cases they probably worked over the past couple of weeks. But here and there she noticed some insults directed at Lockwood and she was glad to see she wasn’t the only one who thought those things. A drawing of a visitor caught her attention. It wasn’t very detailed but its expression seemed sad and lonely nonetheless.
“Who’s that?” she asked.
“That’s the ghost we have to take care of tomorrow. It’s probably a Type One so we should be done quickly.” George answered.
“Where is the house you have to take care of?”
“Hopkins Street in Soho.”
“I’ve been on a case near there! Though it was more dangerous, the Type Two we had to contain was more threatening than we had anticipated. And the house was big too, are you gonna be okay just the two of you?”
“I’m sure we’ll be fine.” Lockwood cut in.
“We could always add a third person, worst case scenario they just stand by…”
“I’d be happy to be there in reinforcement… And that way I could pay you back for letting me stay here.”
Lockwood was far from enthusiastic about the arrangement. y/n saw his jaw tighten as George accepted her offer to tag along.
“I’ll go to Satchell’s to restock.” He got up and aimed for the door. “You and y/n can prep the bags so we can leave when I come back.” He left the table without looking back. There was no room for discussion. It’s like he couldn’t get out fast enough. I guess the feeling is mutual then. But who cared if he couldn’t stand to be in her company either? At least she could repay George by helping him out back. And that way she didn’t have to figure out what her next move should be for another day. She could pretend to be a proper agent one more time and forget about her disgrace.
George immediately filled her in on all the research he had done on the case. Apparently even for a Type One explaining every little detail couldn’t wait until tomorrow. She listened to him ramble on about the history of the house on Hopkins Street and felt at peace for the first time that day. It reminded her of their walks back from a job early in the morning. She paid attention as much as she could until her eyes decided to close on their own.
----
It was getting unbearably cold and the fact that she was restrained to a small iron circle didn’t help her condition. The night had been a disaster so far. It made her regret Fittes, her old teammates, her decision to stay here and help. She wanted to be a true professional and apply her impeccable methods. What could be better than to follow Marissa Fittes’ instructions to the letter? What could possibly be worth denying everything her supervisors had taught her her entire career? Anthony Lockwood’s sheer will apparently justified changing everything.
It had started as soon as they had set foot inside the house. She wanted to be thorough and efficient. She offered that the group went through the house together to look at each room and possibly locate the source before facing any type of ghost. But their leader had decided otherwise and didn’t even bother to listen. He sidelined her immediately.
“You’re here in reinforcement, right? So we’ll come get you if we need a hand.” He had told her before leaving her behind surrounded by an iron chain. It made her furious. Sure, she hadn’t exactly been warm yesterday, or even polite, but still. He could really use her training and her talent. His stubbornness was really stupidity at this point. And what kind of agency didn’t have supervisors?
She was going on and on in her head about everything that was wrong with this situation when George interrupted her train of thoughts as he entered the room.
“We still haven’t found anything, we’re taking a break in the kitchen. Care to join us?”
Of course, Lockwood wouldn’t have bothered to tell her that. Instead, he greeted her with
“That tea is really awful. Who made it?” he said with a wince.
“I did, and at least I was nice enough to bring tea for everyone.” She went to pour herself a cup from a thermos she had packed.
“Well, it was your job.”
“My job was to prep the bags with George, not play housekeeper.” She said coolly without looking up. She turned her back to him so he couldn’t see the look on her face. That tea really was terrible.
“The tea isn’t the only thing that’s bitter tonight.” He said with a smirk.
She turned around to face him.
“Tea isn’t part of a regulation kit.”
“In our agency it kind of is.” He cut in.
“What I’m trying to say is that you could appreciate the intention instead of making your snide comments. Earlier you literally walked through the door shouting orders without helping us even a little and now you keep criticizing me. You can’t spend the evening reprimanding everything I do.”
“I’m in charge and I can when the work isn’t done properly.”
The room fell silent. She wanted to scream at him, hit something, anything. But this was still a haunted house. She needed to keep her emotions under control. No matter how much she wanted to put him in danger specifically, George didn’t deserve this. Ignoring the satisfied look that Lockwood gave her, she turned to George.
“Is he always so difficult to work with? I’m surprised you haven’t lost your sanity.”
“He’s actually tolerable most of the time.”
Lockwood smiled at her with a “I told you so” grin.
“But you obviously have quite an effect on him.” He told her with a wink.
His smile disappeared instantly and it was George’s turn to laugh.
“Instead of having you two brooding in separate corners of the room, maybe we could try and do the job we were hired to do?”
They went for another tour of the house, using all their senses to try to detect any activity. The only result they got was a drop in temperatures which was a start. They settled into the coldest room, figuring the source was probably nearby. They set up a circle in the center and the boys started to search anything that could be the cause of the haunting. As y/n went to pick up a figurine carved in ivory on a shelf an annoying voice interrupted her.
“I need you to stay in the circle while we look for the source.”
“But my Touch is better than yours and George’s combined! Stop being a jerk and let me do my job for the first time this evening.”
“We’ll tell you if we need reinforcement.”
As George was about to protest she raised her voice.
“I’m getting really sick of your behavior. Stop treating me like I’m a beginner. I can handle myself. I worked for the most prestigious team in the most prestigious agency for God’s sake!”
“Well, you’re not anymore. Your behavior hasn’t been much better and until I know that I can trust you I’m not letting you touch anything in this house.”
“Fine. If that’s how it’s gonna be I’ll be better off anywhere else.”
She left the room in a rush. She was putting both of her teammates in danger anyway with how angry she was getting. It was better for everyone if she left.
She went down the stairs in a hurry and slammed the door on her way out. The fresh air outside helped a little. But she would need a two-hour walk at least to calm down. She started to walk down the street as she heard footsteps running behind her.
Lockwood caught up with her and grabbed her arm to make her turn around.
“Where do you think you’re going? You don’t have anywhere to go and we organized the night with you as backup. If we don’t have you standing by you’re putting both of us at risk if something goes wrong.”
“I’m putting you two at risk anyway with how angry I am at you. I thought getting to know you would change the opinion I had of you but I was right from the start you’re just an arrogant jerk.”
“And I was right to think you were just pretentious and helpless that night we met. If it weren’t for me you’d be dead but instead you disrespect me in my own house and act surprised when I don’t trust you on a case.”
So he did remember that night. She tried to hide her surprise.
“Oh right so I’m supposed to be grateful for you ruining a perfect opportunity for my career.”
“You didn’t need me to ruin your career you handled it very well yourself.”
That stung. She turned around before he could see the tears that prickled her eyes and stormed off into the night.
“Nice one Lockwood! And I’m the one with zero social skill.” George said from the doorstep before going back inside, leaving Lockwood alone in the deserted street.
---
“y/n I need you to keep the visitor under control while we look for the source!” Kipps shouted as he ran up the stairs, followed closely by Bobby.
“But wouldn’t it be better if-” She tried to point out that her talent would be most useful if she went to look for the source herself but the boys were already gone. Reluctantly she went back to the living room, using her senses to see if the visitor had come back yet.
She was alone for now. Just her and her frustration to keep her company. After a week of strenuous efforts and late nights, her leader still didn’t seem to warm up to her. Obviously if he kept her aside and gave her tasks that didn’t let her show her full potential he could never be impressed with what she could do. But she kept her head down, it was only the first week, she needed to follow his directions to remain on his good side, or at least his neutral side. And if the visitor showed up she would do her best to fight it, maybe that would show him. She tried listening to reason the best she could, but the truth was that Kipps’s behavior vexed her. She couldn’t help feeling underestimated and a kind of sorrow rose in her. What more could she do to make him notice her? His approval was the only thing she sought at the moment. It consumed her so much that she didn’t realize the visitor had resurfaced. It started creeping up behind her when suddenly she felt a presence as the temperature dropped several degrees.
She ducked at the last minute and narrowly avoided the ghost that flew above her reaching for her neck. The phantasm was now hovering between her and the iron chain, she had no refuge. She drew her rapier unaffected and ready to fight. The ghost tried to attack again, it was aggressive and used her frustration to its advantage. She formed complicated patterns with her sword to keep it away from her. They stayed face to face like this for several minutes with no sign from Bobby nor Kipps. Her arm grew tired of this face to face. It was getting harder and harder to draw the ghost off but her mind stayed focused. Fortunately, it was hard to break her spirit. That was until a cramp painfully twisted the arm that held her rapier. The pain was so sudden that she grabbed her arm and dropped her weapon as a reflex. Probably the worst reflex to have in this situation. As her iron defense touched the floor the visitor attacked. She ducked again, getting closer to the iron chain. As she went to step inside, she tripped and broke the circle. Her rapier was out of reach. She grabbed the chain and tried to fend off the ghost with the chain, not using the flares at her belt that certainly would have caught fire inside. Where were Bobby and Kipps? She could really use a hand right now. As the phantasm got very close to touching her the door flew open.
Finally. In the darkness she only saw a silhouette in a long coat drawing the visitor’s attention away from her. She was thankful but she didn’t recognize who it was. Bobby or Kipps would have been coming from upstairs so she wondered how this stranger could have known when to barge in. Nevertheless, the diversion was enough for her to grab her rapier, ready to fight once more. The living room was lit by the ghost lamp outside. She turned around to see her rescuer fending off the phantasm. He was quick on his feet, the movements of his sword clear and precise. His posture looked elegant even in a fight. He seemed completely at ease and it didn’t look like he needed her help. Once more she felt rather useless. She remained alert but couldn’t do more than watch the scene unfold. It was like the visitor had forgotten she was in the room standing right behind it. As the fight went on the guy in front of her tried tempting it more and more each time he dodged a sudden move from the ghost. She slowly walked around to join him on the other side of the room as the ghost was getting closer each time it tried to reach him. What was he doing? The point wasn’t to tempt the ghosts but to keep them away. It’s like he found it amusing somehow. She felt a burst of energy and a shiver ran down her spine. It was getting particularly angry. She hurried to reach his side telling him to get out of the way. She held her sword high, ready to fight off the new blow she was expecting when instead she was pushed behind. She lost her balance as she was shoved against a sofa sitting in the corner of the room and tripped the reckless idiot in the same movement. He held on to the armrest to quickly stand up and stood between her and the visitor. It was getting close, too close. At the last moment it disappeared. The air warmed up and the tension that filled the room was replaced with relief. Only for a moment though.
“Are you crazy? You could’ve gotten us both killed if my team hadn’t just located the source!” She pushed him away as she stood up from the sit he had pushed her into.
“A good evening to you too. What a lovely night isn’t it?”
She looked at him in disbelief.
“You’re not even gonna acknowledge the fact you almost got killed three seconds ago?”
A voice came from the hallway.
“Tony! To what do we owe the pleasure?”
The boy rolled his eyes at her before turning around.
“Shouldn’t you be alone in your big house at this time of night?”
She had never seen Kipps like this before. Sure, he was proud most of the time, but never to that extent.
“You should thank me for saving your teammate from a certain death. I did your reputation a favor here.” He talked about her like she wasn’t standing right next to him. How could someone she met 5 minutes ago irritate her so much?
“I’m sure she could handle herself just fine.”
“I could but he didn’t really give me a chance.” She said, glaring at him. “I didn’t need your help, I had the situation under control.”
“A simple thank you would have sufficed. Next time I’ll just enjoy the show from outside then.” He gave her one last look before exiting the room.
He left the same way he had come without looking back. Or at least she thought. Outside he had glanced one more time through the window where he had first seen her battling the phantasm, his lips curving slightly as he made his way back home.
---
The memories of that night kept coming back to her, fueling her rage as she made her way down Wardour Street. He didn’t let her do her job then and he didn’t let her do her job now. And he was acting like an arrogant prick with a smug look on his face while he was doing it. Her head was heavy with the events of the past two days and she felt overwhelmed. She was angry at the universe for turning her life upside down. She had a plan and she was following it. Why did things have to change so suddenly? She was mad at her instincts for misguiding her and she hated the way she kept overreacting. The further she walked the more anger she realized she had to unpack. She had weeks of frustration from all the efforts she made to gain Kipps’s trust and approval and the ironic twist of fate that undid all that in just one day. She also had the hurt from El’s betrayal that still twisted her stomach. The uneasy feeling that something wasn’t right with Mrs Dufour. The shame of being fired. The unbearable weight of figuring out her future now that she threw away the one that she had designed for herself. She wasn’t ready to deal with that just yet and decided to focus on tonight instead. Who cared if she didn’t have a future, at least she still had a friend in the city that very kindly accepted to take her in. Well, until she left him and his colleague alone in a haunted house that is.
She regretted taking her anger out on Lockwood, though some of it was well deserved. She actually didn’t know how to feel about him. Somehow she was convinced he could have been very nice to work with if she had given him a chance from the start. On the other hand, she still wasn’t over how he literally kept her from doing her job all those weeks back. And the fact he behaved the exact same way tonight certainly didn’t help. Still, she hoped they were safe even with her gone.
The stroll did help a lot. She had been gone for half an hour but the fog in her mind already started to lift. She still needed some alone time but she really should apologize for her behavior later. The guys wouldn’t be home for a couple more hours anyway. No need to rush. She could always apologize tomorrow. And she would owe them one less night at their place.
She made her way to the border of the Thames, passing Scotland Yard on her way. It was one of the only buildings with light coming from the windows. She followed the river south, taking deep breaths to try and ease her mind. A gentle breeze rustled her hair and she finally allowed herself to relax for the first time today. The water made her feel safer and the quiet streets made her appreciate the city even more. It was a shame she couldn’t do this more often without taking risks. She could have stayed there for hours but as she leaned on a banister she noticed a boat getting weirdly close to her. It kept coming her way until a girl with a straw hat on came into view. She pointed to somewhere behind her mouthing something. Was it directed at her? She frowned mouthing “what?” back to the girl. She insisted. ‘Watch out.’, she finally understood. She turned around to see men gather and she ducked on instinct. The only people out at this time of night couldn’t be good news.
Curled up behind a brick wall, she slowly craned her neck to try and see what this was all about. There were three men standing a few feet away from her. They were partially hidden by a tree. She moved slightly to her right to have a better view. Relic men. It was very clear that this meant trouble and she needed to get out of there. She turned around, hidden behind the wall to thank the girl on the boat but she was already out of sight.
The easiest way for her to get out of there unseen was to go back the same way she came, practically on her knees the whole time to remain covered. She made slow progress but she would soon be able to reach Scotland yard and from there she could keep walking the other way. She didn’t really care where she was going as long as she was out of danger. She was reaching the last few feet when she heard a familiar voice that made her blood run cold.
“Good evening gentlemen.”
George was right. She was right. Mrs. Dufour was standing there, casually chatting with relic men. Her dismissal seemed even more unfair now. She wasn’t in such a hurry now. She could finally get her answers and get to the bottom of this.
“Did you bring it?” one of the men asked though it sounded more like an order.
“Of course I did. Here, I’m sure you’ll get a good price for it but I want 25%, no less.”
The man closest to her laughed as he dismissed her with a hand.
“Yeah, right.”
“It’s an original from Mrs. Overton’s ancestors. A piece from a prominent family like hers has got to be worth a lot more than the other pieces I brought you. And I’m putting my job on the line for this. 25 or I’ll find someone else.”
Did she really say Mrs. Overton? She was selling the clock she was supposed to bring back in a few days? y/n couldn’t believe it. How was she going to justify the missing piece to their client?
The shock made it hard to breath. She had flashbacks from the day before when she heard voices outside Mrs. Dufour’s office. She tried to step away slowly and discreetly but the friction of her feet on the ground made a sudden noise that made the group look in her direction. She stayed ducked but she heard one of the men get closer to investigate. She only had one option if she wanted to get out of here unharmed. She stood up and immediately started running. She could hear one of the men yelling to go after her from afar but she didn’t turn back to check. She hoped the supervisor didn’t recognize her but now was not the time to worry about this detail. She had more chance losing them if she got lost in the streets instead of following the river. She made a turn on her left, hoping they would lose sight of her. Instead she felt a sharp pain in her left arm. How could she get a cramp in this part of her body while running? Without slowing down she passed a hand up and down her arm to ease the pain. Instead of finding the soft fabric of her jacket her fingers met something wet. She looked down at her bloodied fingers trying to keep up her pace. Not only were these men chasing her but they were throwing knives at her. Letting them catch her wasn’t an option from the start but even less so now. She tried to ignore the sharp ache and kept running until she found a hiding spot in a deserted alleyway. She used the trashcans and piles of cardboard boxes to avoid her pursuers. They ran past her without looking back. She waited a few minutes trying to calm her breathing down.
The street was silent again, she couldn’t hear any voices or steps coming her way. She peered out from her hiding spot and only saw the ghost lamp at the end of the street. She came out and sighed in relief. Her mind had gone completely numb but as she stepped out of the alley she became painfully aware of the situation. Panic started to rise inside her. She wanted to curl up in the middle of the street as her breathing accelerated. Somehow she still wasn’t getting enough air. Her lungs hurt, the world started spinning around her. The wound in her arm was burning, she felt blood running down her arm. All her senses were blinded by the pain and the stress, she couldn’t think straight. Behind her she heard something crack. A leaf, a branch maybe or just a rat passing by. But that was enough to send her running as fast as she could. Her instinct was the only thing guiding her at this point. She needed to get help, to find people she could trust. She needed to go somewhere safe.
---
All the lights were out inside the house. They probably hadn’t gone home yet. The case could have turned more complicated than anticipated. But she didn’t feel like waiting for them in the street with blood trickling down her arm. She felt dizzy and lightheaded, her throat was sore from the cold autumn breeze and her wound wasn’t getting any better. She climbed the few steps in front of the door, her right hand in front of her in case she tripped. As she got to  the door, she kneeled and retrieved her hooks from the sock where she always kept them. Her dad had always told her this skill would come in handy. At the time she didn’t believe him but still let her teach her. It was a fun father-daughter activity after all. But right now, with the pain she was in, she truly blessed him for having weird hobbies.
In three clicks she unlocked the door and stepped inside without worrying about the noise she made. Her head was heavy and relief flooded her as soon as she closed the door behind her. It didn’t matter that her day had ended up worse than the day before. It didn’t matter that this seemed unconceivable yesterday. The fight, Dufour, the chase, all of it was behind her now. She was safe. As she stepped deeper into the house the walls started spinning. The masks on the wall looked like they were mocking her. She felt the urge to dismiss them with the back of her hand. A sharp pain shot through her arm as she lifted it. She cried out and didn’t notice Lockwood coming down the stairs.
“y/n? What are you doing?”
She hadn’t heard him coming and jumped in surprise, prompting another sharp pain in her left arm.
“y/n? What’s wrong? Wait how did you get in?”
At that she smiled faintly. But her head was spinning too much. Her knees buckled. She saw movement in front of her as the floor got closer before she collapsed in the hall.

Transcript:
Norma: It’s not uncommon to find yourself on the wrong path in life, Oscar. Try not to beat yourself up too much. Oscar: I could’ve turned back earlier-.. I don’t know why I didn’t. Courtney reckons it was fate. Norma: That’s one way of looking at it.
Oscar: I was in a bad place.. ignoring everything seemed easier at the time, but the more we got involved, the less freedom we had. I figured they’d get bored eventually, y’know? Find someone better suited to the job than a depressed junkie. Norma: Bumping into Kate, that changed things for you?
Oscar: It felt so personal in comparison-.. these were innocent people; people I knew. I couldn’t sit on it. I knew the cops were in on it as well, so I took her to the only person I thought I could trust. Norma: Joslyn.
Oscar: [nods] She helped Kate, but she couldn’t help us, not after being promoted by Spencer. Norma: She tried her best. Oscar: That Agent Key guy was twice as useless as her, he fucking ghosted us.
Norma: Well, I looked into that after Joslyn told me about it. He had a heart attack-.. recovered just fine, but chose to retire early. The importance of your case was most likely lost amongst a mountain of paperwork. Those local departments are horrendously unorganised, bound by red tape; it should’ve landed on our desk.
Oscar: I was pissed that no one seemed interested-.. but I’m stubborn, so I figured I’d write it up myself, take it to the top. I kinda got waylaid though; Del Sol, Courtney got pregnant, I checked myself into rehab.. it’s all a bit of a blur. Norma: Do you know why Wyatt sent Courtney to Del Sol?
Oscar: It turns out they’d met outside all this; maybe he was jealous, suspicious, unhinged.. all three? The weirdest thing is, after all that, he turned around and helped us? I don’t get it. Norma: Really? That’s interesting.
Oscar: For some reason, yeah. He helped us expose Spencer. Norma: Is there any chance he could’ve felt guilty-.. had a change of heart? Oscar: [scoffs] I doubt it, he’s a pretty disturbed guy.
Norma: It’s no wonder, growing up in that environment. Oscar: He doesn’t deserve an excuse. Norma: Now, now.. don’t get all bitter; we never truly know other people’s intentions. We can guess, but still…
Oscar: It’s hard not to be. Norma: I’m sorry that you fell through the cracks, Oscar.. I really am. If you were a CI, or even an undercover agent, you would’ve been pulled out of this situation a long long time ago. The fact that you persevered is admirable.
Oscar: [sighs] I just-.. I wish Courtney hadn’t been dragged into it. Norma: Life’s too short for regret, dust yourself off and move on. Oscar: How can I move on when-…
Norma: We have a name, a place-.. Eugene’s already in Del Sol; it’s only a matter of time, trust me. Oscar: I suppose it’s your job now. Norma: [chuckles] Not one to hand over the reins easily, are you? You and your friends got us this far, we’ll do the rest.
Oscar: [nods] Thanks for being one of the good ones-.. I think? You haven’t been a dick to us, at least. Norma: Aha, the key is to pick your battles. You’re not the real bad guys here. Oscar: Are you, uh-.. we’re not gonna need lawyers once you’ve wrapped up in Del Sol, are we?
Norma: No, there’s no evidence against any of you; some dealings here and there, racketeering, assault-.. whatever else? Some of our agents do much worse, it’s a means to an end… I told Bruno we don’t always do things by the book, and I meant it. Oscar: That’s.. good to know.
Norma: [nods resolutely] Such a remarkable story-.. anyway, I think you’ve given me enough of your time. Oscar: Well.. I didn’t think I’d be saying this, but it was nice meeting you. Norma: Likewise! I’ll be sure to let you know of our progress, okay? In the meantime, you ought to try and give yourself a break.

What was your favorite thing you did in the UK/Germany?
That's such a hard thing for me to say on these sorts of trips, because there are so many things that go into "favorite." Apologies that this won’t be very poetically written, I’m sitll musing on my thoughts about it.
The event I loved the most: Dickens Christmas Feast
We all know I love Charles Dickens, and even more so, we all know I love A Christmas Carol. I have seen so many versions of it, I will continue to watch versions of it, it is the best thing about Christmas, I think. So, on the one hand, very low bar to entry foe me.
On the other hand, I cannot recommend it enough to people. I would see anything this theater company did. They did such a wonderful job of building tone as you walked to where the theater was, you get this sense that you’ve about to hear something no one has ever heard before, even though this is probably one of the best known stories in the Western world. They even had a map of London from the late 1800s. I genuinely told people to just go past us in line (We had Royal Circle tickets--everything else had been sold out--so it didn’t matter if we were first or last) because they had a magnifying glass to look at the city map. It was so interesting to me to see the ways its different, but also the way its the same. What parts of the city cropped up, where were the nice areas, all of that.
I loved dressing up. I love dressing up anyhow, but it was so much fun to do it for a Victorian themed event, and people reacted so positively to the handful of us who dressed up. There was one gal who stood by us in line, turned to her mom, and said, “I told you people would dress up! We could have dressed up! I love your costumes.” and then when we thanked her and said we loved to take an opportunity, she said, “Did you bring all that from America?” and upon confirmation, she turned to her mom again and said, “They brought it from America!” I loved her, I hope next time she dresses up.
The food was shockingly good. I don’t put a lot of faith in dinner theater, foodwise, but the duck was well cooked, I love the potted cheese, and the cocktails were flat out incredible. I had smoking bishop, which I liked so much I think I’m going to try and make it at home this winter. Also, in the Royal Circle the service was incredible. Our gal Lily was so very attentive and wonderful, and she let us know that she couldn’t come out during the three acts, but in the meal breaks, she would. I let her know I was going to want to put a cocktail order in about ten minutes before each act began, and she was SO on it, like CLOCKWORK, asking me what I’d like for the next act and having hit the table RIGHT before the lights dimmed again. She was amazing.
And the play. Again, I love A Christmas Carol and I acknowledge that fully, but I never imagined that one of my favorite reworkings of it would be a one man show that is represented as Charles Dickens acting it all out of you in his deeply involved, hyperactive, scattered way. I ADORED IT. I cannot express to you how well the guy did, and how much, in moments, it really felt to me like the feeling of being a writer--especially in the earlier parts of the play--with him saying a line “wrong” and then going, “No, I don’t like that” taking up the exact same position, and redoing it. It was very much the feeling of me pacing around the office in the old days writing something. At the end of the second act, when they had this huge clap of thunder roll, lights flashing, the actor as Scrooge in this moment crying out in fear over the approach of the third ghost, and then the whole room goes pitch black and silent. It’s SO tense. The lights come up, he smiles and goes, “Pretty good, right?” ANd it just captured, for me, that feeling of knowing you’ver written something that’s going to get to your reader, and it is this MOMENT in the writing, but you’re sitting there grinning like an idiot over your desk, chuckling.
The only other players in the work, actually, were the musicians, who were live, and walked around playing the violin and little drums and other instruments, it was such an excellent way to really loop in the music aspect and give this so much more of a live feel.
The whole thing is done as a theater in the round style, and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. I was in the royal circle, but mostly what we had was more attentive service and much more comfortable seating (They were these sumptuous plush banquettes. So nice. Everyone else was on a regular chair) because the seating was so good for the play itself. And because of how it was done, it had to have sparse staging, but what they did have was wonderful. In the center stage, especially, they had a doorframe that popped up, and when they lowered it, they couldn’t do it without a light slam, so they worked it into the play SO WELL, at one point one of the musicians was holding it for the perfect dramatic moment to hear that slam, and it was such a clever way to work in something that could have been annoying into being absolutely perfect.
It was so cleverly done, I would go see it again despite the cost of it, absolutely, if I were in London at the time.
Thing I think everyone should go see in London: Westminster Abbey.
A lot of the things I recommend are ‘use cases’ because there’s very little int his world that is uniformly bad or uniformly good, there are just good and bad use cases. I think the London Eye would be a fucking horrfying waste of time and money, but if I were bringing beeb, she might love it, as she loves to be up high. When i went with my wife one of my favorite days was when i took the train out to the shitty OW office and walked back to Mile End at the route I think Lena would take, and basically just bopped around the East End.  Many people would find that boring or too much walking. I thought the British Museum was an annoying waste of my life. Many of you are audibly gasping at that statement. Use cases.
ANYHOW, Westminster Abbey is one of the only things I can think of in London that everyone she go see. I am not a big historic church person, so please trust me when I say its a very beautiful church, but it’s much more than that. I’m not sure if I just wrote this in my diary or said it here, but it feels like the collective hopes of a nation, and what it makes itself to be. What do we hold dear? What do we call ours? This is even more striking with seeing the scientists, and poets’ corner, the RAF chapel. It’s about what the UK thinks of itself as, what it hopes it is, as much as it is anything else, and I think you get a fantastic sense of that HOPE going through there. There’s a reason Oliver Crowmwell was there, and then wasn’t. Its striking for me in a way churches rarely are. I love that aspect of it, my wife loved the straight history aspects of it, the craftsmanship of the building itself and the graves are absolutely worth study, if you’re a royals person, that’s where the coronation is, if you just want to hit the tourist highlights, it is a major one. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Thing I didn’t expect to love: The Christmas Garden Path at Blenheim Palace.
I cannot express to you what a tonally bizarre journey the Blenheim path was. It was as if they asked several different people to come together and make this, but refused to allow them to speak to each other, so you jump from moment to moment and it has absolutely no unity whatsoever. You begin in a very boring “Nice lights set to Pentatonix” Christmas display that in no way prespares you for what is about to happen. At one point, in what I called, “The Annual Tory Salute to the Blitz” it is literally the glowering face of Winston Churchill, illuminated, against a backdrop of flames. If you do not believe me ask @morkaischosen who was there with me. Then we went into the “Christmas Rave” where there was, I am not joking, pulsing lights as you walk in a circle around them to techno music. Is this related to Christmas? Who knows? WHo cares! There are dancing fountains! There’s a love tunnel! One of the areas I just called “A Eurovision entry from Eastern Europe” and I was completely right. It was bonkers. It was jarring. I loved it. 10/10. Also, whoever planned it out had amazing wisdom with the drink stops, I am so serious. I never had to chug nor wait, they were spaced PERFECTLY for finishing one drink and wanting another.
But one of my actual favorite times, that I will look on with extreme fondness, is something that I think most people would have found boring to hear about: Sitting on the living room floor with @verbforverb while @tallangrycockatiel sat there and knitted, sampling whiskeys. It was not anything you’d find in a travel guide but in many ways was what I came there to do and will be one of my favorite memories (also verb trying to fucking murder me during a monring run)

Baby don’t cry
Pairings: Fem!reader and Chrollo Lucilfer
Warnings: Stalking, implied manipulation, murder, smut.
Summary: y/n’s been having the worst luck with men. No man seems to stick around other than her friend Chrollo Lucilfer who’s always been there for her.
Word Count: 3k
Tumblr media
MDNI
Chrollo Lucilfer was the one constant man in your life. He was the perfect example of how a man should be; kind, gentle, caring and chivalrous. The one man who would come to you whenever you were feeling low, prioritising you over all else. Each time a new guy you liked ghosted you and you never heard from them again, you’d go right back into Chrollo’s warm embrace, and he would reassure you telling you they weren’t worth it, that you should give up and focus on yourself instead. The right one would just walk into your life and you wouldn’t even realise it until it happens.
Every time it happened you’d question yourself, what was it about you that drove men away? Why does it always happen? The questioned plagued your thoughts and you were slowly giving up on love, remembering what Chrollo had told you. Your dependence on Chrollo also grew, you felt safe with him. The feeling of being watched all the time would subside when you were with him, the feeling of not being enough subsided when you were with him which is why when he told you he would be gone for 3 months for a business trip your heart broke, you felt anxious.
The time when Chrollo wasn’t there was sad at best, you dove into work and would go for drinks with a co-worker occasionally. Never once entertaining a person of the opposite gender knowing how it would end anyway. You had given up hope, maybe you were destined to be an old cat lady?
Just as Chrollo had said that you would find someone and not even know until it happens. You found Andrew, a new co worker, he was by all means perfect, you had allowed him into your life because he was your co-worker and never expected things to end up the way that they did but they did. You were finally in a stable relationship, you couldn’t wait to tell Chrollo!
You waited for your friend to return from his business trip, he wasn’t much of a texter so you didn’t bother. It wasn’t until he returned that you introduced him to Andrew, the two hit it off quite well and you couldn’t be happier. Chrollo was happy for you, and told you you deserved to be with someone who made you happy.
On your 6 month anniversary with Andrew he broke up with you. Your heart shattered. The Andrew you knew was just a façade, apparently he got with you to make his ex jealous and it worked, she wanted him back and you were dumped in the process. He left you standing there, your body paralysed. You didn’t know how long it had been since Andrew walked away, you just wallowed in self pity your feet moving on their own to go back to find that warm embrace that always made you feel better, hence, how you ended up in Chrollo’s penthouse.
As soon as he opened the door you crashed into his arms and broke out in a sob, holding him tight just to feel the warmth once again. “Y/n, please don’t cry. I can’t stand to see tears in your beautiful eyes.” Chrollo spoke, his hand caressing your hair while the other pulled you close into a tight hug. “Chrollo I- I can’t. Why di-did it happen? Am I not g-good enough?” You spoke in between sobs your hands grabbing the collar of his shirt for support as you lifted your face from his chest to look into his eyes. It was as if he knew this was bound to happen, it was quite the common occurrence at this point. “Y/n, I know its hard. That b*stard never deserved you. You’re beautiful, smart, funny, and everything a man could ask for. If I was your boyfriend, I’d never make you cry. Heck, I’d rush to marry you.” He continued, “Don’t shed your tears for someone who’s undeserving of them. I’ll always be here for you, whenever you need me.”
Each word that Chrollo spoke was laced with authenticity and care. You could tell, his voice was always soft when he spoke to you, his arms always open for you. As attractive as he was, he never once gave into any flirting attempts made by any one of the women that flocked around him, his eyes were always on you. Were you missing something? Was it because of you? The sudden realisation hit you and you couldn’t help but wonder and to test the waters you inched forward. It was now or never.
You inched forward, slightly closing your eyes setting them on his plump lips waiting for him to close the gap which he hesitantly did so. The moment his lips touched yours you felt a wave of relief flush over you, the feeling was amazing, the chemistry was already there.
He started to move his lips softly and you moved yours in unison parting them slightly to allow his tongue to enter in your mouth, the kiss deepened and your lips move on their own trying to savour each second of this passionate kiss, your tongue exploring his mouth and your hands running through his black locks. Both of his hands made their way to your back and he pulled you in closer, your bodies pressed up against one another. He broke off the kiss and started kissing your neck, sucking each spot lightly leaving a trail of hickeys along the way, you were quick to get rid of his shirt wanting to jump right in, the heat of the moment clouding your judgement.
Chrollo unzipped your black dress and turned you around wrapping his arms around your waist, your back pressed against his chest as he slid the strap of your little black dress and placed soft kisses on your shoulder your hand grabbed the back of his neck to push it in as a form of encouragement. His erection poked your back, your back arching slighting to let the dress fall down, as soon as it did, he was quick to close the gap and deepen the tight embrace.
You turned back around and pulled him into another deep kiss, his hands made their way to your ass as he whispered “jump” in your ear, you then wrapped your legs around his waist, not breaking the kiss in the process as he walked towards the direction of his bed room lightly throwing you down on the bed and immediately getting on top of you. He began to retrace the hickeys he had left on your neck, going further down this time to your cleavage, he licked his lips as he pressed your breasts together kissing them.
You moaned his name and rubbed the back of his head pushing it deeper into your cleavage wanting more. Chrollo stopped for a second and got back up, running his hands through his hair he turned away from you, you hoisted yourself up on your elbows and asked, “What’s wrong?” concern lacing your voice, wondering if he wasn’t interested anymore.
“y/n, I can’t do this. You’re too fragile, I feel as if I’m taking advantage of your emotional state.” he said and he turned to look at you, his eyes scanning your body as he bit his lips, “Fuck, you’re so perfect. I’ve wanted to be with you since the day I met you. I’ve been hopelessly in love with you, but I don’t want you to think of me as an a** for trying to fuck you when you’re down” He said rubbing his palms on his face.
“You’re not taking advantage of anything Chrollo. I want you. I need you.” you said, he looked at you, his grey eyes locked with your own, he took a step towards you before he stopped and asked, “I need you to say it. Explicitly say it.” you got up from your position and placed his hand on your chest and spoke in response, “Chrollo Lucilfer. I want you to fuck me.”
As if impulse was the driving factor, his hand squeezed your breast lightly, every fibre of his being was telling him to rip your bra off and to start sucking your breasts. His eyes darting from your face to your chest and as if he was mentally scolding himself his hand started to slowly withdraw. “I’m in love with you y/n. I really am. Heck, i’m madly in love with you. I can’t see anyone but you and-“ he paused to take a deep breath, “I don’t want you to give into carnal desire and just do it for the sake of it. I can’t risk losing you” his voice trailed off while he spoke the last part.
Y/n’s lips parted ever so slightly and she said, “Chrollo. I never tried anything because I valued you so much. I’ve always been attracted to you but was scared of losing you too. This isn’t carnal desire, this is me being brave enough to take a step.” Your voice was low, but loud enough for him to hear. His face lit up hearing those words and he rushed forward to kiss you once again, hearing you express your feelings was all he wanted.
He pushed you on the bed and ripped your bra off, pausing for a second to take in the view before lowering himself to start placing kisses all around your right breast while massaging the left. He kissed and sucked every inch of your breast before stopping right near the nipple, slowly licking around it before lightly brushing his lips on your nipple as his mouth hovered over it.
He parted his mouth to take it in, swirling his tongue around it while gently sucking, slowly he took more of your breast in his mouth and continued that motion earning a moan from you in response. Your breasts were a big erogenous zone for you, the way he was sucking them was getting you wetter by the second. Chrollo’s eyes looked up to see your face, your eyes were lidded and your lips parted, small moans leaving them. Knowing how your breasts were the key to your arousal, he turned to face the next one, mimicking the actions he did on the other one. He released your left nipple, a popping sound emitting as a result and grabbed both of your breasts squeezing them together before gently kissing the centre and moving down to kiss your stomach.
He left light kisses there knowing you were rather ticklish and didn’t want to risk ruining the mood. His hands grabbed your clothed core and began rubbing the fabric right where it was. He lowered your panties and grabbed either one of your legs placing them on his shoulder before his hands made their way to your hips to hold you in place, his tongue then started by giving you a big lick on your core, swirling around your clit before taking it in his mouth sucking it lightly, his tongue working in circular motions to stimulate it. He brought one of his hands down to insert two fingers in your core while the other made its way to grab your breast, massaging it lightly. You placed one hand on his head, lightly grabbing a fistful of hair while the other rested on the hand that was on your breast encouraging him to continue massaging them.
His fingers pumped inside you slowly before exploring your core trying to find that one spot that would be enough to drive you over the edge, once he found it he curled them up and started working his magic, the orgasmic feeling intensified with each pump, his mouth sucking your clit just right and the hand on your breast had started to tighten its grip when he felt your back arch knowing you were close. He worked his magic on all fronts until your grip on his hair tightened and you said, “Don’t stop” the wave of pleasure took over you and you let out a loud moan as you came.
Taking a breath of two you started to get up, grabbing Chrollo by his pants and taking them off along with his boxers. His throbbing cock was out now and your eyes widened, you never imagined he would be this big, well endowed was an under statement, swallowing whatever spit you had in your mouth, your hand made their way to grab his dick, but before you could do that he grabbed you by the wrists and pinned you back on the bed.
“No, I can’t wait any longer” he said, positioning himself on top of you, your genitals aligning. He rubbed his cock on your entrance, to coat it with your cum sliding it up to your clit rubbing it slightly before bringing it back down right in front of your entrance.
“Are you ready, love?” He asked with his tender voice. You nodded and he lowered his face to place a soft kiss on your lips right as he entered you. A wave of pleasure came over you and you let out a small moan, Chrollo grunted when his cock was fully inside, he was careful to slide it in slowly, a few small thrusts to get you used to the size.
“You can pick up the pace now.” You said, finally used to his size and he started thrusting in you a little faster each time. You moaned each time you felt his tip kiss your cervix, knowing you liked it fast, he picked up the pace till he was thrusting in you like there was no tomorrow, you were a moaning mess by this point.
“Fuck, Chrollo, God, Omg” was all you could say, with your hands firmly on his back, your nails were digging in the skin of his back but neither one of you could care less. You were just enjoying the feeling, the sensation of Chrollo deep inside you.
Chrollo stopped just as he was close, taking his cock out he picked you up and placed you on the table, your legs fell on either side of his and he entered you once again. This time thrusting deep as soon as he entered, the flat surface table stopped your movement allowing him to hit you deeper and harder. If you were a moaning mess before, you don’t even know what you were now.
He placed his hands on your waist and held you firmly in place fucking you even harder than before if that was even possible, leaving you babbling incoherently. Chrollo’s hands moved from your waist to your back as he pulled you forward, you moved your legs to grab his waist, your ass still positioned on the table, he arched your back and placed one hand on your back to arch it while the other made its way to the back of your neck pulling it down. He took one of your breasts in his mouth and sucked on it while still thrusting inside you.
The feeling of his thick cock filling you along with the sensation you felt while he sucked your breast pushed you over the edge once again, your walls tightened and you came once again. Shortly after Chrollo’s cock began twitching and you knew he was about to come too. A few more thrusts and he came inside of you. His hot seed filled you up completely and he grunted loudly as he did. He thrusted deep once more before pulling his cock out a second later.
Chrollo picked you up and placed you on the bed, handing you a wet wipe to clean up, as he did the same. After which he got into bed right next to you and pulled you in a tight embrace. He kissed your forehead and said, “I love you y/n. I want to be with you. So, what do you say? Will you be mine?” His grey eyes were fixated on yours, you stared at him deeply and gave him a soft kiss on the lips before replying, “yes” Chrollo smiled and started to kiss you all over your face, he was ecstatic to say the least.
He knew just how drained you were which was confirmed when you fell asleep in his arms slowly after. Chrollo smiled to himself, feeling as is he had the biggest victory of his life, the treasure he wanted the most was finally his and nothing could take it away from him.
He was upset that it couldn’t happen sooner, and that you gave yourself to that scum, Andrew, but it didn’t matter, heck, it was actually something that helped him, all those times he watched the two of you make love allowed him to pick up on a lot of things, he knew what you liked in bed. He knew what you wanted in a relationship and was able to give you just that, anything to keep his love happy. Shalnark’s ability came in handy when it was time to finally get you to run to him once again. This time he was certain he wouldn’t let you go, the jealousy he felt when you were with Andrew made him promise himself he would never let you into another man’s embrace ever again.
His phone screen lit up, and he grabbed it, the message from Shalnark read, we’ve disposed of him. A smile adorned his face as he turned to look at your sleeping frame. Getting rid of all those men was certainly worth it, the love of his life was now sleeping soundly in his arms.
