Hi! Yesterday i made this post about a theory i had about LOZ tears of the kingdom in which i somehow drag the seven heroines into this

So we have a lot of pieces, so lets try to put them together. This is about to be a game theory video in text form, so if something sounds like a stretch ✨thats because it is✨

Anyways.

What do we know about the seven heroines?

Well, not a lot. We know that, according to the Gerudo historian Rotana, the seven heroines were 7 divine protectors of the Gerudo, and are a popular and well known legend.

She says that each heroine has a different power: skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion, and gentleness.

Idk about you but to me these sound like ✨dungeon prompts✨

We also know that there is Gerudo script on the sides of the statues, which reads “The Seven Sages”

So clearly the heroines and sages are connected, quite possibly the same thing.

But what about the 8th heroine?

Well, we know even less about her. We only really hear about her from incel-boot-guy who sends us out to go find her statue in the first place, and he himself didn’t even think the statue was real, only an urban legend. In fact, compared to the other seven heroines, the 8th heroine is a lesser known myth.

The 8th heroine is strange. Shes merely more than an urban legend, the Gerudo script on her statue also says “the seven sages” despite her clearly being the 8th, not to mention that for some reason shes been built in an inaccessible canyon in the middle of nowhere. And because WHY NOT, her SWORD is on the other side of the mountain range.

In past Zelda games, the sages have been 6 main sage guys and their leader, princess zelda, the seventh sage. The statue could be the leader of the seven sages, instead this time being a leader of the sages as the 8th. But thats me grasping at straws, really.

Now to drag all this nonsense into Tears of the Kingdom

Ganondorf is like. Here now? We only really see him in the first trailer. Ganon is cursed to be reincarnated as a Gerudo man for eternity, and im sure has made the Gerudo people suffer under his rule before. (If not teeechnically canon to the games ppl who know the older games better than i can fact check me)

So by that logic, we could be seeing a lot more Gerudo centric history in the new game. YES, the game’s clearly aesthetically centered around the Zonai, but the Zonai are not the only 10,000+ year old race around. The sheika and the gerudo have both been around for just as long if not longer. Much, much longer. Its possible the seven heroines were in kahoots with or were even apart of the Zonai and helped save the Gerudo from Ganon. Or not.

Again, im grasping at straws and then putting them into my zelda themed insanity puzzle.

But i think the most consise thing in this whole mattpatt knock off text dump that i can think of is this

Eight heroines. Eight sages. Eight tears. Each tear represents a sage, similar to the medallions from OOT. You go through sick ass sky dungeons to get them. Those tears contain energy magic shit you can use to repair the master sword and kick ganons ASS. Its gonna be sick. Also somehow shove the zonai and hylia and the cave paintings and time travel and ouroboros in there.

TELL ME YOUR INSANE THEORIES I CANT BE ALONE IN THIS.

But again.

Thats just a theory.

I am Very Tipsy (okay I'm drunk so sorry about spelling but also ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) but I just wanted to say that since I started reading your rqg series I have not been able to stop thinking about it! I mean the fucking development of it all just really gets to me it's incredible, don't get me wrong i like most interpretations of their relationship but there's just a soft spot for me when it comes to 'if I wasn't stuck with you we never would have gotten past how incredibly annoying you are' like every interaction they have pre-timeskip is deliberately pissing the other off and I feel like a lot of writers kinda side step it (again not a criticism) and I just love that you can feel the frustration when you write them. I mean in 'always forgive your enemies' you've got Zolf trying desperately to be like "no I've grown as a person it's been a long time he's clearly been through Some Stuff and maybe we'll be able to work together" and then Wilde says 1 sentence and zolfs immediately like "actually no fuck you I was right to not give a shot when you got tossed off a ship you're a tool" and the development of that to I don't like you but we've gotta work to whether to I don't dislike you but your friend sucks and no I'm not jealous what the fuck are you talking about to the terrified guilty rage if not being listened to but oh gods is he gonna be okay in 'experience' (along with just the utter heartbreak of Wilde almost reaching out to Zolf because yeah he does trust him now but then remembering that this is contagious and what if hes infected and what if it's HIS fault that Zolf gets sick and immediately shutting down and putting himself through a week in solitary IN THE ROOM HE SHARED WITH BOSIE SURROUNDED BY THOSE MEMORIES TOTALLY TRAPPED WITH THAT KNOWLEDGE BY THE PERSON HE TRUSTS BY HIS OWN ORDERS I MEAN FUCK DUDE and the kind of flirting except no I'm not but I mean if *you* were I wouldn't not be????? In 'the country' and 'talked about' and even then there's so many guards up and there's so much in the way - the blame the self loathing the guilt and the anger of it all AND the whole theres 2 people who had never met before we introduced them who shouldn't work are doing WHAT in quarantine (and also 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀) AND FUCK DUDE THE LATEST INSTALLMENT!? IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT SINCE YOU RELEASED IT HOLY FUCK! Ooh my friend I have been waiting for your comment since I posted "Punish", I have come to enjoy your tipsy insights because yeah!! You get it! These fkn onion boys and their LAYERS of barriers they've both got up around intimacy (and yes I absolutely LOVED contrasting that with Barnes and Carter who in my head canon met like... 6 weeks ago? And just blew straight past any agonising over what it meant and got on with it. There's more of them in the next scene too BTW).

As soon as I decided I wanted to tackle the time gap with a trans Wilde, the strip inspections were the first thing I knew I'd have to wrestle with, and I KNEW it would be brutal and unfair and un-fun but also?? Absolutely one of the draws to ZolfWilde is that they've been through some absolute shit together, and exploring how instead of turning into unhealthy trauma bonding, it grows into something unlikely yet beautiful, and the fucked-up trans reveal was just another thing on the pile that they overcome or work through.

And Zolf has the thought of "this isn't how its supposed to go" but he wouldn't even be as close Wilde if not for the fucked up circumstances. There's no "supposed to". If this hadn't happened, Zolf and Wilde would have never worked together and continued to distantly think the other one was a git if they crossed paths. So it's a parodox of a thought.

- consistently smells like cigarettes and cheap cologne but he has the common sense not to buy axe since it reminds him of the middle schoolers in his school

- cant fucking cook to save his life because he refused to sit down and let Holly teach him. he suffers the consequences his first week in college and ends up eating dinner there for a month since he’s broke

- literally only smokes Marlboro Reds. like he’s super fucking picky about his cigarettes and it carries on for the rest of his life

- i can’t 100% tell what his sexuality is but i know he isn’t straight (it’s a gut feeling i just k n o w)

- kinda insecure about his body since he’s thinner than the rest of the crusaders but polnareff makes sure to ABOLISH that shit since kakyoin is the Skinny Legend none of them could ever be. polnareff is basically his hype man when he feels unattractive no cap

- literally hates the way cigarettes smell and has complained about it enough to get Jotaro to finally put on some fucking cologne to mask it (even tho it does a shitty job) but it’ better than being suffocated by the smell of smoke all the time

- can COOK okay like this man can make a 3 course meal blindfolded and with his hands tied behind his back and it still comes out looking straight outta master chef. he can also grill, but not as well as joseph can obviously

Just to be clear, there isn't much canon stuff that hints the short gay prince hates his dad right? I know his dad was more upset to still be under freeza's heel rather than give up his literal son and that was pretty shit of him but he still kinda cared such as when he was boasting how geta would be the super saiyan when he was a kid. Plus there's that beerus scene with king vegeta. I'm just trying to wrap my head around if he genuinely has daddy issues or if it was just the association with him being gay lol

i guess ur right tbh i cant recall vegeta like. even talking abt his dad at all really?? aside from the battle of gods flashback but its pretty universally accepted across the fandom that he has daddy issues and i think that just stems from implication lol like it makes a lot of sense given what we do know abt vegeta’s past and also his current behavior

king vegeta was pretty adamant about his son being the very best and being the super saiyan savior of legend that would save their race from the cruel clutches of a violent oppressor and whatnot, and thats a lot of weight to put on a child’s shoulders!! if you spent your childhood being told that the fate of your people rests on you being the absolute strongest, you’d end up with some issues as well LOL

seems a bit complex tho. having this idea that he’s some hero of prophesy drilled into his skull from birth would cause both inflated ego AND confidence issues. like vegeta in canon is very outwardly proud and boastful but inside he has this fear of failure and the idea of being left behind is simply not an option for him (hence why he’s so ridiculously deadset on besting goku lmfao) so i think that’s some strong evidence that his relationship with dad isn’t very good

but i digress, per usual LOL

i understand where ur coming from when u say that like. king vegeta seemingly rly cared abt his son bc he was constantly hyping him up but i have to imagine that this caused a ton of tension between prince vegeta and his dad. maybe i’m dipping into headcanon realm here but it makes sense that if king vegeta is this desperate for prince vegeta’s success, he’s gonna push his son to the limits at all times. maybe it’s well-intentioned and just accidentally inflicts trauma, or maybe its selfish and shows king vegeta only cares about ending freeza’s rule and is clinging to his son as a solution. i guess that’s up for interpretation!!

maybe it’s unfair to draw these conclusions seeing as how we know very little about king vegeta but to be fair i dont recall him ever being like. affectionate towards vegeta or anything like there is no indication that their relationship was loving at all in terms of canon interactions

but yeah personally i def think vegeta has daddy issues, maybe he doesnt hate the king but i’m sure there’s some resentment towards him, whether vegeta acknowledges it or not lol

alright here’s how I’d rewrite Infinite and ergo some of the plot points of the games story.. it got long i got a little carried away lol........................

Infinite’s name probably isn’t that before he becomes a tool of destruction thing but I don’t care all that much to name him something else rn

he also doesn’t have a sword because that’s really not necessary and I don’t know how to make that relevant at all

forget the mercenary thing because it makes no sense that he was “hired” by eggman and that’s also boring. The jackal squad is a nomadic, robin hood type group that steals from bad folks to help other animal people villages in need

to make character relationships.. matter a little bit more, OC is a long time childhood friend of Infinite and they still see one another a decent amount despite the jackals moving around

I don’t really care how or why the phantom ruby exists in fact I’m just realizing there’s a huge discontinuity because according to the COMIC it just.. existed arbitrarily like a chaos emerald, but according to the GAME it seems to be something Eggman fabricated, since there’s “prototypes” in play??? hm hm okay you know what I’m feeling ambitious let’s make both make sense. There is one true phantom ruby that exists, eggman finds it, where ever I don’t care. some legend about, this ruby can bring your ultimate fantasies to life! EXCEPT you need to have, idk, a good heart, a heart of gold, to use it and eggman doesnt have that so he can see the illusion of his empire but it wont become reality

eggman thinks okay well, maybe if I fabricate copies of it I can make a version that will work, which I reckon doesn’t make them “prototypes’ anymore but just, copies, but close enough. however, they still don’t work

now cut to jackal squad raiding eggman for his cool shit. maybe they catch wind about this whole “bring your fantasies to life” power and want to use it for good and they know eggmans vibes are rancid. in any case the jackals make off with a ruby (a FAKE one uh oh!) but not without infinite losing an eye and gaining one big unsightly scar from a fight w/ eggman and he’s like Shook about that but he’s like hm well at least I stopped that terrible guy from harnessing this power (oh no bitch u thought..)

of course the jackals dont keep their spoils but WHO ever could be trusted with this legendary gem thing?!? oh none other than You, Original The Character, aka Infinite’s best friend .............. so he gives the ruby to OC and tells them like, idk allegedly this can make ur dreams come true but I don’t know how it works...oh my eye? yeah I sure used to have two of those but dont worry about it, anyway ttyl stay fresh *saunters off, jackaly*

because the fake!ruby is.. fake, it just seems to be a dud at first so OC just hangs onto it as a keepsake

eggman, pissed about his shit getting stolen and worried what could be done with it sends robots out to hunt down infinite, kidnap him, and drag him back to eggman’s base and demand the fake!ruby back. infinite naturally refuses to tell him anything especially at the cost of putting OC in danger, so he’s like, blow it out your ass

eggman is like HAHA WELL U DUMB SHIT you stole a fake anyway and I have the real one right here.. he uses the ruby to suddenly spawn a bunch of robots and infinite braces himself for the attack... except they go right through him because they’re just illusions. eggman is like FUCK !! DAMMIT! WHY WONT THIS SHIT WORK!! Infinite uses eggman’s tantrum time to rush in to snatch the ruby. when infinite touches it as its in eggman’s hand, however, all the illusion robots become “real” (probably conveying this through effects/opacity), taking them both by surprise. infinite is unable to take the ruby before getting hit with a full force attack from a robot

infinite is incapacitated and eggman grins, like, inch resting...................... you seem to be able to make the ruby work... I will now use you for malicious purposes >:) (cut to black)

NOW when Infinite is in the tube, 1) he already has his mask because the scene with him putting it on and monologueing about abandoning his old identity is unnecessary, it’s more symbolic here, 2) he’s amnesic and I know we did that with shadow already and I don’t mean to overuse it, but I think it works well enough in a different way for this story! Shadow had some fragments of memories and an identity crisis, but with Infinite, his memory is completely wiped (or perhaps suppressed?) and his only understanding of himself is that he was “created” to work for eggman. Even MORE importantly! the stakes are raised because of Infinite’s relationship to the OC--Infinite cannot remember them which makes attacking them a lot more heart wrenching ESPECIALLY when we get to a point where OC begins to recognize their brainwashed best friend using one of the (apparently) very same rubies given to OC to try to destroy them with

this also adds more tension to all the scenes where Infinite is taunting and threatening OC on a quite personal , rivalry-like level? Infinite would, over time, begin to get an inexplicable sense of familiarity with OC, which causes him to hesitate and hold back

oh and as for the fake!ruby, OC does use it to defend himself just like the first time! it ends up being successfully activated because OC shows a strong will to protect the other civilians. if you haven’t caught on to my cheese, both OC and Infinite have hearts of gold and thats why they can use the rubies. eggman is cheating though by fusing Infinite to the ruby and using him as a proxy for his bad will..... and again, coming back to the cheese, Infinite’s heart cannot be changed and he is not truly “evil” so that’s like, how this is working

I’m way too lazy to fix everything scene by scene because there’s also just SO MUCH wrong with all the other characters and plot but I’m just focusing on fixing Infinite and making him more interesting so I’m skipping to the end..

I’m not entirely sure how I’d order the bosses and what I’d wanna do with the eggman robot phases the whole things was a big mess............I kinda wanna go with what I THOUGHT was going to happen after beating up giant robot thing and then that squid robot breaks out??? and I thought it was going to be Infinite cause that would be much more dramatic? So lets go with that---When Eggman says like, well fuck infinite who needs him? i harnessed the power of the ruby into my robot, he means he literally trapped Infinite in it like, wired up and shit to use him like a power generator. fucked up. Infinite breaks out after that phase of the battle, and he’s like, in so much pain and glitched out on overclocked energy he cant even control what he’s doing.... commence TRUE final boss battle (it can still be a tagteam with sonic), and it’s sad and dramatic! OC pleads (or I reckon sonic, maybe the other heroes too since they talk during fights! like since OC doesnt talk) infinite to remember his true self because they dont want to destroy him

once you’ve depleted his health bar, I’m going to go ahead and use the game’s weird addition of quicktime events to fuel more cheesiness (B/C THIS IS SONIC...WHY DID THEIR “POWER OF FRIENDSHIP” MORAL END ON SUCH A BLAND, UNEMOTIONAL NOTE IN FORCES??? shadow didnt fall to his (alleged) death in sa2 for this..............) and you quicktime OC HUGGING Infinite, like jumping towards him and grabbing him in an embrace type of thing! and when OC makes contact with the ruby, it activates, making all the probably hostile glitchy battle terrain or whatever dissipate, infinite stops being like.. idk lookin like he’s being electrocuted, and his mask fades away .. exposing Infinite as his true self once again

the in between the lines intent here, again since OC doesn’t talk, is that OC’s fantasy was to bring Infinite back so they could be together again. you’re welcome to interpret that as romantic, or platonic, it doesn’t matter! it’s open ended! it’s just supposed to be cute!

idk and then emotional stuff, I’m not entirely sure what it doesn’t really matter the idea is that Infinite is like, remorseful of what happened but everyone ofc forgives him because it’s not his fault , and then he joins up with with everyone to help fix the world! hmm I’m torn between Infinite keeping the true phantom ruby or giving it to the OC, like giving it to the OC makes sense, but for the sake of like, hypothetically bringing Infinite back in a future game and having special powers, it would be perfect if he kept it and that was his thing, he uses the power of virtual reality to help people and fight evil and whatever

I dont know I guess there’s not a lot of sense in thinking too hard since I just remembered none of this is canon whatsoever and we’re probably not seeing Infinite again unless as a stock evil thing to beat up like metal sonic 8′)

im thinking about sp/op season 5 again and how i feel similar to when i watched season 6 of vol//tron, in a sesne that i really do not care about canon or what creators say is or isnt canon, for me it just. exists on the same level as fanon.

(im putting my reasons “why” under the cut bcos its long and im just basically rambling to myself):

i mean. its not AS BAD as v*ltron.

and yes, i am thankful that we got gay kisses and gay relationships confirmed on screen, (netossa saying “my wife” on screen? very good) its really important and all that stuff but you know what, id love if they actually put effort into their endgame relationship that (supposedly) is a “heart of she-ra” (and didnt make a stereotypical villian out of their only (very alien like looking) nb rep from whom they made a big deal out of to just use them in one episode for comedy and then delete their existence until 5 second finale cameo (no im not still salty about dt what r u talkin abt)) i think we should expect more from show on streaming platform, especially from dreamworks that was met with outrage after their queetbaiting with v*ltron.

i know i may sound like priviliged bicz but i expected catr///adora kiss in one way or another, at very least in the background. i didnt expect for them to say “i love you” and to make a dope utena ass scene though. and i did like this scene, it was a little bit cheesy but i like cheese... i didnt really enjoy the journey to the shop to get that cheese though.

the line “you never gave up on me” makes me go “... :\ “ because... adora litterally did give up on her. remember how season 3 ended? remember the look adora gave catra? remember her punch? remember that catra almost destroyed reality and actually killed angella? remember that scorpia left catra because she couldnt bear catras abuse? and then forgave her after seconds without full apology? the redemption showed in season 5 works only if we forget about seasons 2-4, because. man. was that rushed and unrealistic. i believe there was too much focus on catr/////adora and too little on catra herself. like. i believe catra would benefit if she spend more time away from adora, maybe if she escaped from prime on her own or smth idk, maybe she would discover something about herself outside of “im in love with adora” maybe she could get redemption arc ala zuko or some szit. catra deserved to be her own person and not just “the girl that loves adora”. her whole being revolves around adora, its honestly not healthy (i mean she almost destroyed reality out of spite, if this doesnt say something about her relationship with adora idk what does). like, is this really a romantic story we all wanted? for me its very unsatisfying.

and i still think people forgave/trusted catra too quickly, and yes i think that about perfuma too. i honestly think it would be really good messege if at least one person didnt forgive catra and for catra to heal despite that, because! when u used to be a szitty person of course not everybody will forgive u! but u still can try to heal! u cant and shoudlnt aspire for all people to forgive you and writers had an oppurtinity to show that with catra but i guess not.

adora got a little more space to be her own person but it still feels like she didnt live up to her own potential and in the end her whole being ended up being revolved around catra anyway, even tho season 3 finale stated otherwise.

this cartoon could be a great show about forgivness and redemption but... its just not. just because it has gay kiss in it it doesnt make it automatically great, you know? there was a massive decrease in quality in the last season.

same with vol*ron, there was a massive decrease in quality in last seasons but just because they confirmed shiro to be gay and there was gay kiss at the end it doesnt make it automatically great. thats why these two shows feel familiar to me (and in its style kinda, also in advertising themselves with “diversity” (v*ltron saying “we have a queer character!” and then sidelining him, and shera saying “we have a nonbinary character!” and then sidelining them) but for some reason people seem to forgive shera for its shortcomings, maybe bcos it wasnt as tragic, and we got actual representation but my point still stands.

(also i see some people say that “shera will open doors for lgbt+ creators” and im just here looking at legend of korra and su like--- hey, doors are already open, shera may open them a little wider or make sure they wont close but this show isnt some gay cartoon jegus.... did we all forget that we got gay wedding and gay kiss on national television for kids, these cartoons did so much for lgbt+ creators and people seem to ignore it just because they prefer shera/dont like su anymore. i truly believe we wouldnt get such great catra////dora kiss without rub///pphire wedding)

#in conclusion even tho i liked season 5 it was really bad #i liked it in a sense its a good no brainer #but when you actually start to think about implications and realism (i mean as realistic as a cartoon about magical princesses can get)#then it starts to feel.... :\#i mean i geeet it its fairy tail! but this show tried to tackle more serious issues like ab//use! and it was doing it pretty well!#i mean till season 4 #idk what happened with season 5 #still liked it but in my eyes? this is not canon #i really need to know. was 5 seasons planned from the beggining? or did they plan more seasons but they got cancelled?#because it feels like they planned to do more #or did they pack too much stuff into these 4 season and then looked at 5th and were like: '....whoops'#bcos its killing me #also thats how i cope wits stress i ramble about cartoons #spop #personalne gadanie

so guess who decided to watch tangled: before ever after instead of sleeping at a decent time

-OKAY so its obvious that this takes place preproposal in a different universe aka that one tangled short at the wedding? NOT canon here

-groundbreaking compared to the first? Ofc not its a disney tv movie i didnt have too high expectations

-that said tho it WAS cute and i rlly did like the conflict in the stort aside from the hair stuff that i wont get into yet. it goes onto rapunzel having understandable dislike with having to live her life under overprotective rule in a castle while eugene being the opposite, relishing in what he can with his life now being cared for in expenses and being loved.

-i also found the humor well..not laugh my Ass off considering how my humor is different than tv y7 stuff but man im so glad eugene still has a jokey personality while also being genuine when he needs to be without being forced

-i DID do a wiki binge on cassandras background aka rapunzels handmaiden a bit but imo her introduction couldve been a lot clearer? like is she a handmaiden? a friend? how did she come to be? u all that in the wiki n its not as clear in the movie which is a shame >8T i still like her tho!!! c: ngl with her design i expected her to be a bitch at first but later a sidechick. im glad her and rapunzel were friendly off the bat or at least not at each others throats

-also i like eugene and cassandras little banter n teasing!! tho alas i hope during the series they learn to not get on each others backs passive aggressively when rapunzel is around

-also for a tv movie i didnt expect the camera angles to be really good >8Yc was expecting a lotta flat angles but i was pleasantly surprised :D

-that said!!! unpopular opinion as a newbie to the series: i love the art style!! i think its rlly expressive n fluid n it looks like a childbooks drawing in all the good ways possible. the use of flash isnt always a bad thing :y heck i wish Netflix's Legend Quest could take some notes on this wrt just being able to make flash/cheaper animation not look ass ugly

-i wont spoil the ending but lemme just say it ends a TAD more dismal then what u'd expect but just remember its a movie that leads to a series so ;V

-now for things i didnt like entirely: im mega gay for lady caine but uh. weak villain imo at her full appearance moments BUT i DIDNT see a certain twist coming though but i love the foreshadowing before her final entrance game through. she has potential!! im not sure if i wanna see her come back though

-her dude gang had weak designs, voice acting, and lines in general

-actually tbh moments of badassery tend to be very weak wrt dialogue execution but eh i cant expect everything to be an epic oneliner

-iiim not a fan of the king dads voice either . prob nitpicking here

fuck ngl tangled wasnt even my Most favorite disney princess movie..! but after some sneakpeaks into the series as well as a braintune from it sung by Problematic Fave apparently Varian im definitely hooked into seeing more from the series >83c i cant wait to get started!

MORE PERSONASONA THOUGHTS

Actually maybe it could be cool to imagine a design for a phantom thief whose mask is like a full face-covering thing? Like a faceless mask. or a mask with a buncha eye symbols on it. OR maybe the persona has that aesthetic, I dunno??? One of the beta protag designs in the artbook has a mask like that, but with a smiley face covering it. That + an all-concealing cloak = a pretty damn cool aesthetic! Even if it didnt fit the protagonist its a shame that they didnt give it to another character, so I might try and make something with a similar appeal.

MORE POTENTIAL THINGS THAT SHOULD BE PERSONAS

Bunnies of myth! There’s the Jackalope (a bunny with horns), the Wolpertinger (a bunny with horns AND wings) and Al-mi’raq (a bunny with only one horn, also said to be one of a kind and incredibly powerful despite being regular bunny sized) And there’s apparantly quite a few other tales of powerful horned rabbits from all different countries and time periods! O_O I was totally under the impression that the Jackalope was just made up in semi-modern cryptid legends, and didnt really count as a proper mythological creature. Rasselbock is the german name, and that sounds really awesome! Also there’s apparantly a hella mysterious recurring symbol of three hares attatched at the ears in an eternal circle, which has appeared in multiple cultures across the world and nobody knows its meaning.

Okay I LEGITIMATELY DID NOT KNOW that Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream is given neutral pronouns in the original form of the play! O_O I mean, the pop culture version is always male, and in school when we read it the character was taught to us as male! I feel totally destroyed that I missed a chance to learn about LGBT characters in history during my school years... Holy shit I REALLY wanna pick Puck now! I always love trickster figures!!

okay i really do not know much at all about folk heroes/classical literature heroes but I do know one from my country at least! Taliesin (tally-essin) was a kind of robin hood esque figure who gets all the same ‘did he actually exist? is he a myth? did a real man exist but was exaggerated in myth?’ stuff. He was a super magical poet bard dude who was magically blessed with the most witty tongue in all of existance because he stole a potion of super knowledge from a witch as a child. It also made him super beautiful cos the witch’s son was super ugly, I always felt REALLy sorry for the poor witch’s son cos seriously she made this potion for him and some random kid stole it and then he’s never mentioned again except to say that ‘he was so ugly that everyone who saw him died, so he made a career as a warrior’. Poor guy. Man, I actually like Morfran a lot better, can I make him a persona? He’s not really a hero or anything, he only gets like two sentences in someone else’s story but I just wanna give him a hug. It also always bugged me that the description of his ‘ugliness’ mentioned how his skin was ‘so black he was like a human crow’ like seriously screw u ancient mythological racisms... ANYWAY thats the only celtic mythology character that’s interesting that hasnt already appeared as a persona, lol. Tho since most of the personas that’ve appeared have been the scottish and irish versions, Finn MacCool was the equivelant to Taliesin. (Same origin story and everything!) The disadvantage is that his name sounds like a shitpost. Also incidentally its really fuckin sad that the only canonical depictions of LGBT characters in welsh myth are all like.. Problematic As Fuck Negative Depictions. I used to like the character Math Ap Mathonwy but then I read the story where he punishes the villains by turning them into a pig and a sow and making them rape each other and get pregnant... as punishment... its so fucked up.. And they’re like the only gay characters ever, and they’re also incestuous brothers, and just... so fucked up... The bad side of getting a mythology Special Interest as a kid: pretty much every mythology has at least one horrible sex story in it!

I’m really interested in learning more about Tu’er Shen! He’s apparantly a chinese deity of gay blessings, the spirit of a mortal man who was executed for loving other men and reincarnated as the form of a magical rabbit spirit. I hope he ended up finding true love in the spirit world... :( Seriously, even friggin mythological figures are dying from hate crimes. I don’t think people were very optimistic when they created this story, its horrible to know that society still hasnt progressed far enough that this bullshit has stopped happening! Cmon, seriously!! Please say the future is gonna be safe, someday! I can just imagine Tu’er Shen looking down on us and still crying.

Huh! Persona 5′s homophobia also manifesting in a weird unintentional way! They mention how one of the ways everyone attempted to get the sun god Ameratsu to open up her door was ‘someone doing a lewd dance’, and there’s a joke about Ryuji being that person. But I had NO IDEA that originally the person who did that was Ame No Uzume, another female deity! And it seems pretty damn ‘LGBT themes in mythology’, i mean the dialogue is Ame No Uzume saying ‘come and admire how perfect I am’ *points at crotch* I mean they probably couldnt mention all the explicit details in this random cameo mention in a persona game, but seriously would it have been so hard to just say it was ameratsu and ame no uzume? I suppose maybe since its a japanese game there was the assumption everyone would know the myth tho, so its more of a failure of the dubbing.

And then there’s a lot of themes of androgeny and gender-changing in Hindu and various african mythologies, but I feel like I’d have to do a lot more research into those cultures to depict them accurately. Its a damn shame that barely any european cultures had that level of respect for LGBT people so long ago, yet we like to act like we’re the height of progress and assume every other culture followed along the same historical template as us... I’m really interested in learning more about Dahomey mythology, wikipedia says that they have a genderless creator deity who split into two male and female twins, which then combined again into a different bigender deity. (Nana Buluku, Mawu, Lisa and Mawu-Lisa) And apparantly in zimbabwe there’s a shona deity called Mwari who is also genderless. I really don’t know anything about these cultures though, and there’s no way I’m gonna be drawing dumb anime versions of people’s important mythological figures based on just a wikipedia crawl! But at least this has inspired me to wanna go learn more. Also it just makes me feel a lot happier about myself to know that its not like there’s zero genderless people in all of mythology, just because my country has always been hella bigoted ^_^ But man, wikipedia’s list of LGBT figures in mythology is really REALLY focused on only depictions of sex, and it counts all the super negative stereotypes and shit of villainous rapist gay folks and people being ‘punished’ by being turned into another gender. And then any sort of positive interpretation is all THIS IS TOTALLY JUST AN INTERPRETATION HERE IS ALL THE EVIDENCE FOR IT BEING WRONG, YOU CANT IMPOSE MODERN IDEALS ON MYTHOLOGY NOBODY WAS EVER GAY BEFORE THE WORD EXISTED IN ENGLISH SO yeah its really demotivating to me to continue reading this and just Yikes with a capital Yikes. I’m gonna try and find if there’s more sources online about LGBT mythology education written by actual LGBT scholars...

hi i want to talk abt foi bc its legit among the coolest things ive done; this is long as Fuck but the book is longer i just really wanna talk,, abt this,,

it’s a high fantasy set on the northernmost side of a huge desert (a sea borders its northern side; beyond the sea is a country filled with plains and forests)

there were seven tribes (i still need to look up definitions and see if thats the most accurate term for what im goin for; im thinking abt just using ‘city’ tbh but yknow) in the desert:

-the riches tribe, whose people could shape gemstones and metals (think metalbending but add precious stones in the mix; each person can only control one thing and ur power is usually decided by the stars or some shit)

-the elements tribe, who could control the forces of wind, fire, water, or stone (now LITERALLY think atla; powers are passed down genetically and a few people can control two elements if their parents controlled different ones)

-the land, sky, and sea tribes, who could control animals related to their tribe (land tribe ppl can also learn to turn into their favored animal, sky tribe ppl grow wings as toddlers, sea tribe ppl can breathe underwater & usually live in the sea on the northern border of the desert bc they dont do well on land; powers are decided based on the animals’ preferences – e.g. if ravens had a specific affinity for a kid in the sky tribe the kid would grow raven wings and be able to communicate with and eventually control ravens)

-the time and space tribes, who destroyed each other 60 years ago, and have the power to speed, slow, or even stop time during the hour of their birth, or manifest physical objects from glowing blue energy that makes up everything in the world (also can see in the dark, i guess?)

60 years ago, a huge war happened between the seven tribes, wiping out the space tribe completely (except for one person; more on that later) and destroying all but 200 of the time tribe, who repopulated to about 1,000, and ruining a Lot of stuff in the other five tribes. for the most part the remaining 5 tribes (minus the time tribe for Reasons) have rebuilt themselves but hints of the past war linger. no one is aware that the time tribe survived (they rebuilt their city FAR from the original location). the time and space tribes faded from public consciousness pretty quickly since all their historical records were destroyed; most of the knowledge about them now is legends and myths

in the present day, 5 children (one from each of the remaining tribes) who lost various loved ones to the same glowing blue knives (created, ofc, by the surviving member of the space tribe, ebon (…courtesy of 2012 me’s genius naming skills, they’re all gonna be like this it’s part of the aesthetic), though the kids dont know that or even recognize it as a space tribe power) are approached by an old man (guess who! its ebon) who claims to be the last surviving member of the space tribe and apparently has evidence that the time tribe is plotting revenge and theyre the ones that killed the kids’ families and he speaks of a supposed prophecy that 5 kids who the time tribe had stolen from are gonna defeat the time tribe once and for all

the kids (and at this point, hopefully the reader too) are the wrong kind of genre savvy, and believe they’ve been approached by gandalf or some shit, and each end up Accepting The Call

(meanwhile back at the time tribe, the king and his rebellious teenage son talk about the future of the time tribe. teenage son, midnight (heyy GUESS what hour hes able to use his powers) learns to use Time Powers that are suspiciously dissimilar to the ones ebon was talking abt the ppl from the time tribe being able to use. midnight uses his powers to get more sleep bc his dad kinda overworks the shit out of him bc like the future of this horrifically unstable and tiny city is in midnight’s hands, basically, and we learn that Its Dangerous bc if u get stuck slowing down/speeding up time after ur 1 hour is up u basically become Time Tobias and ur trapped like that Until You Die)

if uve made it this far i think its time for a proper introduction to the 6 protags of part 1 (another is added in part 2 but we’re not there yet)

-eagle, from the sky tribe, a Massive Fuckin Jock Who Loves To Sport. shes 14 and pretty athletic but tends to chicken out when shit gets tough and so never makes it to the Fly Sport Playoffs. shes a Massive Optimist at first but then she finds her parents dead (hint: it was ebon). she deals with this throughout the novel i hope im writing her well lmao because i wanted it to have a Legit Impact on her character and not just be angst. A N Y W A Y she instantly pegs ash and emerald as The Rich Kids (ash is legit a rich kid, emerald is just from the riches tribe where they traditionally sew gems and shit into their clothes) and judges em for it

-snake, from the land tribe, a 13yo, Lonely Autistic who loves reptiles. (ok i mean. this is high fantasy and im really not sure if autism is a diagnosis in high fantasy. ive done my absolute best to code her as autistic and she is in fact autistic i just dont say it in canon bc idk how to bring it up) ppl dont like her at first because she comes across as cold but actually shes like the most adorable fuckin dork youve ever seen shes great. she doesnt talk hardly at all unless shes Super Comfortable around the people shes with, which is a challenge for me to write but tbqh shes my absolute favorite of the bunch,, also her only friend ever was a thief named lore who was (supposedly) killed by GUESS FUCKEN WHO

-ash, the 14yo daughter of one of the 4 ruling families of the elements tribe. her family’s genetic power is fire but she could never figure it out (later she discovers her power is actually water; im…..still figuring out how that works genetically she might just be adopted lmao) ebon brought her the news of her parents’ deaths and managed to kill her little sister while her back was turned; somehow she does not suspect him. shes kind of a snob and doesnt really /get/ the rest of the group and comes across pretty rude at first. (also, she and eagle deal w their very recent grief very differently but idk her exact Grief Arc yet)

-emerald, who i think is? 12? 13? i cant remember but somewhere around there; shes from the riches tribe, was orphaned as a toddler and raised by supposedly extinct desert dragons (which are basically 12-20ft desert iguanas), which were all wiped out horribly by more of ebon’s shit space weapons. she lived with ash’s family for a while when they were years younger but eventually emerald got blamed for ash’s lack of control over fire and was forced to leave, she found the riches tribe and discovered that she could metalbend emeralds lmao. shes a storyteller and raises money for orphans now i guess

-shark, a scrappy homeless 10yo from the sea tribe who will steal anything shiny enough. he has pointy teeth and an eyepatch (which covers a golden sphere in place of his eye) and hes reckless as fuKC. he was too young to remember his parents but when questioned about it he remembers blue knives (GUESS WHO). hes pretty unaware that sharks are infact chaotic neutral sea predators who do not give a shit about him even if he can communicate with them and he starts the novel with a Pretty Serious Bite Injury™. he takes a lot of shit apart and puts it back together in horrifying ways. yknow sid from toy story? basically thats shark if sid lived underwater and was portrayed as a fundamentally good person

-midnight, the 16yo prince of the time tribe, a Rebellious Teen™ who doesnt want responsibility and has Horrible Insomnia. he thinks his dad is Evil And Controlling and probably listens to heavy metal behind his back (meanwhile his dad is actually pretty decent just busy as Fuck trying to keep the time tribe from accidentally inbreeding collapsing and trying to show midnight how to lead; hes overprotective but not evil). he broke a pattern of various people born at midnight/noon alternating every century and people think hes Destined For Greatness™ or some shit; he is having absolutely none of that will someone let this child sleep instead of waking him up in the middle of the night to practice magic

anyway yea thats p much all ive edited so far and tbqh i dont remember a whole lot of details but That Is My Book!

one i will get into is c*ldatom i just,,,,,,,, i do enjoy their interacts i think theyre entertaining and what not but i just dont really see the romantic link between them at all its p puzzling to me really. like i can see them being tolerated teammates at best but thats about as far as that relationship branches in my eyes. len was ultimately willing to let ray die at the oculus and i think that speaks for itself

i don’t know that its popular persay but captain canary??? i just really dig them as bros gaying it up throughout time no need for this unnecessary romance forced into it like begone demon

um all of team flash basically (excluding iris + barry). but yeah everyone else like romance is just….i dont see it. theyre great friends and they care about each other but without the romance involved.

FIRST OF ALL veronica donovan dying like that? i know its not an arc but it was stupid and i hate the writers for essentially deciding only one of the females could live and that they were interchangeable like FUCK you and FUCK you again

second all of season 4? no. dumb. the whole theyre not actually brothers plot line with how Shitty christina was i hated it and it exhausted me and i just thought it was a plot twist that didnt need to happen also did i mention i Hate her

third any redemption arc for tbag like i said hes fucking dead to me and i think hes way past the point of redemption and i just really am not interested in seeing that happen whatsoever (i.e. s2+ like bye)

also i wont lie i am quite side eye at the arc for snart in legends season 1 (and 2 if we are being honest but i dont wanna get started on doomworld it is LATE – one small thing, len calling mick a dog? bye 👋), as well as micks. i dont really like the way theyve developed the characters from the beginning of s1 to the end of s1 i think it was done a little sloppy like they didnt have the time to really do it properly and it was a little bit out of character anyways in some portions

as well like i said they didnt really have the time to develop that relationship enough to the point to really break it down substantially as they could have it almost reminded me of doing civil war in one mcu movie with only 6 of the avengers present and the shitty mcu writing of them not really seeming like they like each other a whole lot for most of the time like show us SOMETHING MORE that would suggest this could happen

flash point. i dont like this. i am, for the most part, not a fan. i think its negatives way outweigh its positives, the few it has.

julian? i also found his whole,,,,,,,,,existence for more than a mere few episodes redundant and uncomfortable. also like p much everything with caitlyn has been pretty,,,no……. like why
