The first Heron design I showed off was from before Confidential Casefiles, so I thought I’d show you guys her look after she gets her new arm. Plus a few changes I made to her character for this AU! Just realised the way I placed my signature makes it look like I’M her worst enemy, whoops.
Meet the Cast!

okay this may be what we call fanning the flames but genuine question, what would be the payoff if buddie were to go canon? like why would it be exciting? (I'd like actual opinions bc I'm curious)

Jesse Lee Soffer changed his bio …
It’s officially official. We’ve now said goodbye to Detective Jay Halstead.
Deep down I had been secretly praying that Jay would make a surprise re-entry to the show if only for his wife.

HITTING THE NAIL DIRECTLY ON THE HEAD AS ALWAYS QUEEN
I'm SO tired of new fem characters coming out and they have absolutely no substance to them and you can't look anything up about them because everything is literally just porn. We can't have genuinely interesting and well thought out female characters because that won't sell them, their sex appeal has to sell them! You have to listen to their artificially high voices and never see them get dirty or messy or seen as anything but pretty ladies in barely there clothing! Ignore the fact that a lot of these women are genuine fighters, they're eye candy! They're the mom coded and little sister coded characters!
Even the girls get this treatment because if I have to listen to another person say Diona is super annoying and ignore the trauma she has by literally being left ALONE to run an entire business because her dumb as fuck alcoholic father can't be bothered to do so, I'm gonna fucking lose it. Also massive agree on the fact that the keep child coding the older characters or keep them in an ambiguous "they look/sound like they're 15 but they perform duties that people in their 20s+ perform" state. It is so fucking annoying. They know their fanbase, they know what people are going to do with most of these characters.
It's L after L with Hoyo and I hate it because there are so many things I LOVE about this game but then it's like...you give them an inch and they blow everything up.
no deadass it would be one thing to have a variety of characters with different ages, but what bothers me is that they constantly toe that line between childhood innocence and l*li baiting. so many of these child characters have age caveats that at first glance i didn’t even consider, but then started seeing people use it to justify that klee ages differently/qiqi is immortal/etc. when they’re KIDS
it’s what’s been so off putting for me with nahida. it’s really not just the fact that she’s a kid. it’s the entire shitstorm that follows making her into a child character. the way her official art feels icky and the way she’s meant to be the archon of wisdom (and although she was sheltered), acts so much like a child in out of character ways. so many of the women are painfully soft-spoken, but in such a discord kitten way that it’s uncomfortable to listen to. beidou’s voice acting is my favorite example of just… a woman speaking like a woman and not sounding like she’s trying to sound innocent and soft.
this is absurd because i am absolutely against censorship, but those bandaid fixes hoyo sent out for the female characters’ outfits were actually a little bit of a relief. it’s always skintight bodysuits, micro shorts, etc. for female warriors? i love the direction they went with dehya because after so long, we finally had a female character who wasn’t shoved into a hyper feminine box. she’s brash and battle-worn in the best ways, but even she is barely wearing any clothes.
and yes, she largely works and travels in hot areas, but there is no semblance of any tastefulness or thought put into her outfit other than “how much skin can we get away with showing”
and the fact that kaeya, with a single low cut top, is the closest we get to something remotely “sexy” on a male character? gorou, cyno, and itto are more undressed than kaeya, but their designs feel purposeful to their characters. they, at the very least, make sense. they’re also a minuscule minority against a slew of other suit-wearing male characters. i see it over and over again in video games where women’s sexualities are weaponized not to uplift them and their identities, but to objectify them. it doesn’t matter for a single second that this is a fictional video game. the portrayal of women is genuinely gross and harmful and i will never shut up about it.

why give shauna of all characters (in all of media in general it's that serious) a Totally Forgot About The Giving Birth Pain When I Saw The Baby's Face scene. i don't care if it's a dream sequence that's so ill fitting

I actually thought the Dune spin-off series, now called Dune: Prophecy, was still in the pre-production stage because last I heard it was recasting and retooling, but apparently its all been shot and is due later this year. If it proves to be a success I expect this is how they'll continue the franchise, with prequel series rather than continue to adapt the books.
A third Dune movie is very likely at this stage. Part Two has been enough of a hit already to justify it, although it will probably take some time due to Villeneuve's desire to do other things first and avoid Dune burnout. A fourth film adapting Children of Dune is possible, even if Villeneuve has no intention of doing it himself, but only if the studio is really desperate for another Dune movie. That would be it, though. Cannot ever see them doing God Emperor or the last two books.

as much as i fucking loved the tv show with my whole heart and how faithful it is to the game and i wanna see pedro and bella knock it out of the park again i'm just very apprehensive for what's next
don't get me wrong the last of us part I is one of my fave games ever but even the promise of tlou season 2 won't get me to play misery porn: the game myself
like if you enjoyed part II that's totally fine good for you but i just feel like so many things could've been handled differently and every time i remember that part II is a thing i just get this hollow feeling inside that shadows my fond memories of part I

Thoughts about Echoes of Oblivion: I consider Eight to be cosmically insignificant. That he's just a blip in the giant lifeform that is the Force. It doesn't make him any less important than the next character, but he's not some grand savior or even anything next to say, the Hero of Tython. He doesn't even show up on Force radars half the time. This obviously clashes with a major portion of KOTFE/ET and after that keeps trying to make you somebody, but he is literally nobody. The fact that he matters so much to someone like Jadus who is a gigantic presence and galaxy-shaker delights the hell out of me, but it only makes him special to their relationship, not the rest of the world.
To that end, I think not even Arcann would remember him. Senya would still be angry; she deserves to be and they both made and accepted their choice with him as their murderer. He holds nothing against her if she wants him to suffer for the rest of his life. Given the tweaking of his role as Outlander however, I'm unsure of whether Arcann would hold the same grudge. He might, given this nobody killed his entire family-- but Eight barely spoke, and I think Arcann's vitriol is much more directed at an Outlander who... has a presence at all. Eight might have appeared as just an unknown soldier to him. But I suppose even he needed someone to hate, if he could never reach his father. It's hard for me to imagine him doing so for Eight however, as he did promise he'd defeat him in his stead.
Oddly enough, this time Vaylin had no objections compared to a LS playthrough which is very sad given she must have just wanted to be free of her life of pain and misery, so it made me sigh in relief a little. She deserved a bit of catharsis. It's ironic that the path most would assume would heal her made her more overcome with rage. As mentioned before, it's strange how she and Eight sometimes would silently see eye to eye like that. Maybe that's just how those mired in endless violence are.
I also don't think they needed him to be there for this one given a huge chunk of the vital Force-users there were like uh.... we hate this guy for killing us. Made it really awkward.
It's nice to think of Eight as one of those nameless phantoms in the back who show up just to get a good hit in for Valkorion though, and while I don't think he couldn't do such a thing, he's more of the whimsical surprise character who shows up mysteriously out of nowhere to wreak havoc while simultaneously being helpful and acting on his own agenda (Jadus sends his regards!).
It still got me though when Valkorion pulled him to the side alone and asked him if he really did kill his entire family without being controlled-- I was very curious about the point of lying about it, which I imagine would've been good for RP purposes, but Eight would never shirk the responsibility or the weight of his decisions-- his kills. Valkorion laughed and said he must have enjoyed it if he was so steadfast in his conviction, but Eight would never. Not that him or his family could understand, as they've only known emotions that lead to murder their entire lives. The curse of being empaths, I suppose.
Though I had to pick the apology button to Senya, he wouldn't do that either. He didn't do it then. He couldn't do it now, and she knew it was too late for feelings (it always is. at some point you give up on justifications. you accept this as who you are) and so she brushed past him saying his time would come, and Arcann saying he would suffer eventually.
Ironically, he'd never turn that on them had their situations been reversed. Not that the game had any neutral options for this expac, haha.
He probably wished he got to stay outside Satele's head with Theron. There's something symbolic about him finding the loneliest, coldest vistas of Valkorion's barren mind filled with darkness as comforting, like it's the only place in the galaxy where he could ever be. KOTFE/ET... really made it apparent how other people became his hell, when all they could see was a tool for their victory and a bloody knife to blame.
He was oddly happy when Valkorion didn't remember him. He was grateful. Thank the stars. I should wish to be forgotten.
Then the arc tied off with a cheeky nod waking up to the same Lana with a stim like the PC does first leaving carbonite, but it was more bittersweet than anything to once again jet off...somewhere with her knowing Eight's history with the one he deferred to this entire expac. He tiredly went "I don't care," when she asked him where to go next, just the two of them in a shuttle again. No further words were exchanged and we don't know where she picked, but that summarizes their relationship pretty well: being dragged off not even half-awake by Lana without asking lol. He's still her agent even now, huh?
...Though given the garbage fire and lots of dead people that resulted because of their disastrous power dynamic, I could very clearly hear the frantic holocall from Theron ringing 30 minutes later asking where the kriff she's taking him and to put him back right now.
