How does Adrien react to Gabriel’s abuse?
In season 5 Gabriel’s abuse is escalating and it’s important to notice how Adrien reacts to it.
In the episode Illusion Plagg plays with Adrien’s Alliance ring, making the digital Adrien say silly things about cheese. But when Adrien hears it, he doesn’t find it funny, he’s angry.
Tumblr media
After a short conversation with Plagg, when Adrien realises that anyone can make with his digital self whatever they want, he storms out of his room with angry expression and clenched fists. (Remember how later he clenches his fists when he’s angry at Kim for the prank at the swimming pool and then tries to Cataclysm him?) When he’s walking down the stairs, he’s loudly telling Nathalie he wants to speak to his father.
This is the same Adrien who couldn’t find the courage to ask his father if he could stop being a model. His digital self being used in the Alliance rings clearly violates his boundaries. And while parents have rights to decide if images of their children can be used by others, it is meant to protect children. Children’s wishes should be taken into account, especially when they’re old enough to understand the situation. Some adult children in Europe have already sued their parents for oversharing photos in social media as this is an infringement of children’s personal rights.
Adrien tells his father explicitly that he doesn’t like that his face is in the rings. We cannot defend Gabriel by saying that he doesn’t know. He knows and despite this continue doing it anyway. Gabriel twists the situation and makes it Adrien’s responsibility. He makes it look like Adrien chose it himself by quitting modelling. But these things are not related! And Adrien says that he wanted to quit modelling because he didn’t want to have his face everywhere, not because he wanted more time for his friends. What’s more, Gabriel manipulates Adrien with something he craves most: his father’s love and attention. He’s making his son breakfast! He pats him on the head! Adrien isn’t angry anymore, he’s an embodiment of the 🥺 emoji through the whole conversation. He keeps the Alliance ring not because he changed his mind, but because it’s a reminder of something that he thinks is his father’s love.
When Marinette asks Adrien if he’s OK with his digital self being in the rings, Adrien cheerfully repeats his father’s words that this is not really him and it’s no big deal. Did Gabriel convince him? Not really, Adrien removes the ring later and is still uncomfortable whenever it’s near, not to mention the whole “Perfect Alliance” propaganda. During his conversation with Marinette he avoids looking her in the eyes when he’s saying this. He pretends to be fine to protect his father and not to admit before Marinette and himself that his rights have been violated. He acts like physically abused children who explain their bruises by saying that they walked into the door or fell down the stairs.
Tumblr media
He’s doing something similar during his last conversation with Marinette in the finale.
Tumblr media
He was angry at his father before to the point that he beat him and told him off. But his father apparently fought the fight that Adrien was supposed to fight as Chat Noir and died doing so. So Adrien is again confused and reacts as usual: he pretends everything is fine and protects his father.

Shadybug & ClawNoir First Receiving the Miraculous Part 1
It is at the end of the day after the first, rough, week of school that both Marinette and Adrien head up to their respective bedrooms, miserable and feeling a deep sense of resentment towards the world.
Marinette is  upset because despite FINALLY being free from beneath Chloe’s foot- no longer in the same class and Chloe seems to have found a new favorite target- the damage to her reputation still remains.
Most students are still wary that any attempt to befriend the “baker girl” will incur Chloe’s wrath upon them. The few who DO try to converse with her only do so to confirm that she is The crazy Water-phobic girl from the video posted last year (remember, in this universe, Marinette had NO friends, not even Socqueline Wang, so the incident with Kim at the pool, S5 episode 14, “Derision” was posted) in attempt to further laugh at her expense- someone even tried to pour out their water-bottle on her to see if she would freak out.
Mrs. Dupain-Cheng’s reasoning that Marinette just needs to “get over it” because people would forget about it when enough time passes, and that if she “just ignores them, they will get bored and leave you alone.”  Is not only false, but has Marinette convinced that her mother truly could NOT care less about her!
It doesn’t matter that Marinette re-invented her whole look or took preventative measures to avoid being pranked ( See past post, “Shadybug/EmoMarinette Headcanon origin” ) School is still miserable.
Coming home is miserable because now she can’t even distract herself from her misery with her hobbies since according to her mom, staying up late drawing pictures and doing craft projects is WHY she has trouble waking up and getting to school on time so until she becomes mature and responsible enough, she needs to focus on studying.
It’s not fair.    She never did anything wrong!   Why does she have to suffer??
But then, Marinette notices a package on her bedroom desk; wrapped neatly in brown paper, no postage, but there is a small envelope on top with her name written on it in calligraphy.
There’s no way her mom get her a present for no reason.
If it was from her Father, he would’ve been too excited and greeted her at the door, eager to watch her open it.
Can’t be from Nonna; her grandma is still serving a detentionary sentence at a Labor Camp.
Suspicious.
Inside the envelope is a note;
“Mlle Marinette Dupain-Cheng, you have been chosen.
The items being entrusted to you are a matter of utmost secrecy and should be used with discretion.
May they enable you to do upon others that which has been done upon you, with interest.
         Please ensure you are alone.”
No name is signed.
This is quite possibly the most suspicious thing in the entire history of suspicion.
It’s too complicated to be one of Chloe’s pranks…. But still!!!
No harm in being cautious;
Marinette leaves her room and comes back wearing an N95 mask, a flimsy plastic face shield (some eye protection is better than NO eye protection.) a pair of oven mitts, and armed with two long, metal tongs, and a can of bug spray (just in case).
Unwrapping a brown paper parcel with only cooking tongs is far more time consuming than one would think, but Marinette knows from experience not to trust unmarked boxes.
Finally opening the cardboard flaps, she braces herself for…. Nothing?
Nothing crawls out, nothing oozes or splatters, and nothing emits a noxious odor.
She dares to actually peek inside.
An anti-static foam pouch with something thin and flat inside.
Okay,  she may be the opposite of popular, but there’s no way someone hates her enough to send an explosive…. Right?
Forgoing the tongs and the oven mitts, Marinette carefully unseals the pouch and pulls out a mini-tablet; 22 centimeters and as thin as her phone, sleek and black, but no markings or brand logos. Even still, something about it feels expensive.
Chloe may have money, but that doesn’t mean she’d waste it on an expensive gift just to prank Marinette.
Looking further inside the package, she sees a small, black, hexagon box.
It’s strange; the black lacquer on the sides has a slight haze to it, like the antique jewelry box her mother has.
But the lid is a shiny, black enamel that looks brand new. Perhaps the box was re-finished after the original design was damaged?
She’s about to open it, but thinks better of it-
Setting it down gently, she picks up her can of bug-spray; if anything so much as twitches, she’ll fog up the room!
Carefully creaking the lid open with one hand, can at the ready in the other, Marinette is woefully unprepared for the blinding pink light that bursts free.
As the light dims, she waits for the spots to clear from her vision…
Seeing that her vision is fine and those spots are actually on a large, red, hovering insect, Marinette empties the entire can of bug spray in the creatures general direction as she curses out the universe.
Eyes watering and throat burning (since N95 masks aren’t designed for chemical warfare), Marinette’s heart drops into her stomach at the sound of a tiny cough.
She has no idea if bugs can cough (fun fact, they can’t.) but the fact that whatever it is can make a sound means it’s still alive.
Since toxic chemicals are no longer an option, she switches to blunt force trauma as her modus operandi and hurls the empty can, as well as everything else within arm’s distance at the black and red floating thing.
The only thing stopping her from chucking the mini-tablet as well is her thumb brushing against a side button, triggering a red, grid-like laser projection that scans her face, causing her to drop the tablet in shock.
A feminine but obviously A.I. voice announces “Identity confirmation complete: Marinette Dupain-Cheng, approved.” Before the screen lights up with a VERY familiar red, x shaped symbol;
               The Supreme.
Everyone knew that symbol. It was in textbooks, on flags, printed on currency, it was even engraved onto the Enforcers badges.
It was the symbol of the force the governed the Earth. After having unified all nations and establishing world peace after ending the 2nd world war, the Supreme created a world government and established laws in order to ensure peace and order for future generations.
No one knew the exact details of The Supreme, or even if it was just one person or a council of several.  But everyone recognized the symbol of absolute authority.
That symbol was now glowing on the screen of the tablet in her hands.
Marinette swallowed hard; the symbol of The Supreme wasn’t something to be taken lightly. Using the symbol without permission for non-official reasons of any kind was a serious felony.
If this was a prank, it was one designed to get her arrested.
But, if it was real…
No, this was crazy! She was just a normal girl with a normal, albeit cruddy, life.
Why would The Supreme even care about who she is, let alone give her anything?!
‘May they enable you to do upon others that which has been done upon you, with interest.’
What has been done to her…
Years of being insulted and humiliated, her property destroyed, being tripped, splashed, sprayed, dumped on, lockers full of roaches, homework stolen, gum spat in her hair, being blamed for things she had nothing to do with, isolated and shunned…  Was this seriously an offer for her to get payback?
Why? If The Supreme hated the Bourgeois’, it’s not like they would need a teenage girl to make the whole obnoxious family disappear.
But, did it really matter?
Until now, Marinette has never had anyone on her side. No one had ever been willing to stand up to Chloe. Teachers always took Chloe’s side. Her own mother acted like Marinette getting bullied was her own fault! Even her dad was such a doormat, all he ever did was tell her to try to stay positive and suggest she offer pastries as a way to make friends, as if there was no problem that couldn’t be solved with food.
If there was even the smallest chance to give that brat a tiny taste of her own medicine, to make her pay for even a fraction of the trauma she’s caused over the years, did it really matter how or why???
The sound of another tiny cough makes her look up- she almost forgot about the red and black whatever-it-is.
Said ‘thing’ is still hovering over the dropped box, uninjured by thrown objects and clearly not phased by the toxic cloud that has begun to dissipate, though its antennae does seem droopy.
Is it normal for bugs to have blue eyes?
It doesn’t have those creepy, gross, pinchy-thingies on its face (aka mandibles), but there IS SOMETHING weird where its mouth should be, or, well, where Marinette thinks its mouth should be. (Honestly, she doesn’t know much about bugs expect that they are nasty).
It’s staring at her, and maybe it’s the fumes getting to her, but she could swear it looked sad.
How was a giant, sad looking bug supposed to help her?
Looking back down at her tablet, she noticed a small flashing icon in the bottom left corner.
Tapping it pulled up a message screen with brief description of the creature, a kwami, a concise set of instructions, and bold-text list of rules.
The kwami served as a source of power, and was controlled by…. A pair of earrings?
Marinette assumed these so called miraculous earrings were inside the hexagonal box the kwami was lingering near.
Wearing these jewels and saying the transformation phrase would supposedly give her extraordinary abilities. Abilities she was free to use as she saw fit, under the strict conditions that she was never seen, that no one served witness to her powers, and that any trace of magic was erased.
The public could not be allowed to know of the existence of magic or supernatural abilities.
So long as she followed these rules, anything she did with the miraculous was admissible and free from legal repercussion.
Failure to adhere to these rules would result in severe penalty.
If Marrinette read that right, it meant she’d just been given the means and the permission to make Chloe Bourgeois’ life a waking nightmare, with no consequences so long as no one sees her do it.
Was there a catch? Probably.
Did she care? Nope.
Putting down the tablet, Marinette crawled over to the fallen box, keeping a wary eye on the kwami.
The earrings didn’t look all that special. Kind of tacky, if she was being honest.
The red and black polka-dotted studs reminded her of little ladybugs… which was probably what the kwami was meant to look like?
Whatever.
Putting them on felt even less magical.
Thankfully, looking in the mirror shows that they are no longer that childish red with black polka dots pattern, and are now plain black studs.
Picking the tablet back up, she scrolled through the information once more to find the transformation phrase.
For one, terrifying moment, the kwami is rushing towards her face, and it takes everything Marinette has not to scream as the red bug is sucked into her earrings.
The dark pink light that washes over her form and moves her body seemingly against her will, ripples of static energy cascading down each limb, is enough to finally convince her that this is no prank.
She kinda likes her hair in niújiǎotóu, even if it is too similar to the single bun style she wore last year when she was still a pathetic push-over.
But the rest of her appearance looks like some kind of toxic insect,  (fun fact: black ladybugs, also known as pine ladybirds, are black with red spots and their bodies are full of toxins which are used to ward off predators and can cause allergic reactions in humans.)
The ribbons around her double buns literally look like antennas.
She scowls.
She HATES bugs.
Not a fan of polka-dots, either.
But… if she were to ignore the spots,
She doesn’t mind that the top half resembles a black bolero.
She thinks that the bottom giving off the impression of thigh high boots might be a bit much, but she DOES like the platform heeled soles.
Her mother would NEVER let her wear platform boots.
Her face isn’t as hidden by her bangs, but it’s not a bad thing- dark red lipstick, darker than blood; yet another thing her mother would NEVER approve of.
     She liked it.
She also liked the red eyes.
They looked dangerous.  They looked like the eyes of a person NO ONE would dare mess with.
She looked, no, she felt stronger.
And if everything detailed on the tablet was true, she was.
Examining her gloved hands as she opened and closed them, she decided she could live with the spots.
No, not just live; she was going to THRIVE.
She was going to make Chloe Bourgeois’ life HELL, and relish every moment of it!
A shout from her father on the other side of her room’s trapdoor, from the bottom of the stairs, informs her that dinner will be ready soon.
She de-transforms and hurriedly snatches up the tablet and the letter, climbing to the loft of her bedroom, she stuffs them under her mattress.  She will need to come up with a more secure hiding spot later, but this will suffice for now.
The kwami thing is back.
It’s looking at her like it’s waiting for something.
Creepy.
The tablet said this creature would obey her every command, so Marinette orders it to stay hidden in her room until she comes back.
She has so many ideas, but she’s going to have to go about it carefully. Only an idiot would rush into things without a plan.
She would wait until after her parents were asleep, then she would test out what her new powers were capable of.
After that, she would write down step by step each and every way she would exact her revenge.
——————
The Supreme waits.
Patience is a virtue that has benefitted him for decades.
Children are easy to exploit; let them enjoy themselves, let them get a taste of power, let them savor the addictive thrill until they can no longer bear to be without it.
All good things to those who wait…

Lucky against all odds
Sibling!Timinette, Arranged Marriage!Daminette
Even before Tim learned, thanks to Bruce and his family, that the way his parents had treated him had been neglect, there was one thing, he could never forgive them: When he had been 8 years old, before he even figured out the identities of the local vigilantes, he and his little sister Marinette had been kidnapped.
Only a week prior to that after Marinette had turned three, his parents had decided that he was old enough to take care of himself and his sister and they didn’t need a nanny anymore, only a housekeeper who would come three days a week.
When they were kidnapped his parents, who had been on a business trip out of the country, decided to only pay the ransom for him and abandoned Marinette, doubting whether she was alive anymore anyway and they wouldn’t pay for a dead child. To the media they made it look as if Marinette just wasn't given back to them. Whenever he showed how angry he still was with them for this, they would put the blame on him, saying he had been responsible for both of them.
Years later, when he started as Robin, he told Bruce everything and asked him to open up a case for Marinette. He just had to believe that she was still out there. He used software to let old photos of her age virtually to know how she would look years later and he tried to become the best detective he could be, solving cold cases every chance he got, to hone his skills.
Almost a decade after the kidnapping Damian takes a look at Tim's case files on the bat computer, looking for blackmail material or anything he could use to get under his brother's skin for worrying Alfred and Dick. He finds a case Tim is working on regularly but is still unsolved. When he opens it, he recognises Marinette, the girl his mother brought back from a mission one day, who turned out to be bonded irreversibly to a powerful magic his grandfather coveted for the league. Ra’s and the girl had been locked in a psychological war for days until his mother asked him to use what he learned about influencing others to convince the girl, so she would no longer fight the engagement. It took a few visits and during those he got to know her well enough to feel like it wouldn’t be the worst to have her as a comrade. Finally she agreed to the engagement, which was a form of magical bond the league practices that requires some kind of consent from both.
This is why Damian knows she is alive although he is not sure where she is. Believing Tim had found out and was planning to get involved in things that were not his business he confronts him in front of everyone.
After her kidnapping, Marinette had been given to another group of shady characters and another until she ended up at the last base where she found the miracle box and was chosen by the kwami as the rightful guardian of the box full of gods. Usually they cursed anyone who tried to abuse their powers to suffer, but Marinette had just been curious about the pretty box and never wanted the power of it. Part of this was also, because this was the best way to protect themselves as well.
Not even an hour later Marinette had subdued the people who were still keeping her and wanted to leave, to go back to her brother although the tiny girl didn't really remember much about her home, when Talia came in, to confiscate the miracle box. She didn’t want to use it, she just wanted to prevent her enemies from getting their hands on it. But instead of a group of thugs, she found a little girl giving her a rather impressive glare for one so young and holding the box close to her chest with her scrawny arms. Deciding the girl would be a perfect little playmate for her own glaring hellion, she took the girl and the box and brought both back.
Ra’s liked the idea to bind the guardian permanently to the league by having her be engaged to his heir and was half annoyed and half impressed by her resistance. After all, resisting his will for this long meant that she had a strong spirit which would be an asset. To prevent the girl from breaking eventually, Talia asked Damian to convince her to give in as long as her father was still willing to humor her attitude.
Marinette grew to genuinely like Damian the more she got to know him. She had been at another base when Damian had been sent to live with his father for his own safety. To prevent Deathstroke from finding her, her bodyguard Kagami, the youngest of an old line of high class fighters, had hidden her with the help of an old acquaintance of Talia: Gina Dupain. Since then they have hidden in Paris, until one of the two missing miraculous became active and Ladybug and Ryuko decided to get the butterfly back to the box.
It takes a while until the Justice League learns about the situation and as soon as Damian/Robin hears about the two heroes, he knows who they are and he won’t accept not being there to help them. And neither will Tim, after he had a nap and is capable of putting two and two together.

Bursting Bubbles of Bad Luck Chapter 9
Miraculous Ladybug | 2021 | 2,434 | Ao3 | Prev | Masterlist | Next
November 10th- Marinette protection squad
Let’s make one thing clear. Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Felix Prolux are not friends.
When Lila came to class on Wednesday and laid out her suspicions that Marinette was working with Hawkmoth, Felix was vindicated for a hot minute.
And then he remembered that made no sense, because Marinette herself was Transmission, and he highly doubted anyone would help corrupt their own magic. From what Allegra and his other magic friends had said, magic was more intrinsic and perceivable than even a heartbeat. Felix had enough trouble when his curse acted up; imagining what it must feel like to have such a personal part of being violated, especially to someone who had grown up with it as a comfort, was bad enough. And Dupain-Cheng may be creepy, with her staring and odd habit of knowing everyone’s schedules, but she wasn’t evil.
 Probably.
“What would make you think that?” Felix asked. He still had the back bench, a wonderful perch to glare down from.
“I saw her,” Rossi hissed, in what was probably meant to be a compelling pseudo-fear. “She changed what her hairclip looked like, and when she did…” The students present this early in the morning leant forward. “It looked like akuma bubbles!”
Felix, had he been anyone else, would have facepalmed, or possibly slammed his head into his desk. As it was, he watched chaos begin- some of them were shouting, Cesaire had whirled on Rossi and was convincing her to show proof, which meant Lila was using her own magic to pull up an illusion - something Felix found wonderfully hypocritical. Rossi was Illusion, and had never been shy about showing it.
 Ugh.
Felix didn’t join in aside from turning to Bruel and Haprele. “You realise this is a load of BS, yes?”
“Of course it is!” Haprele said. Her voice was quivering, but Felix had rarely heard it not so he figured it was just a speech impediment. “Marinette would never do something so despicable.”
Bruel nodded along. “She was trying to stop me from being re-akumatized, not trying to speed it up. I’ve seen her trying to be cruel.”
 “Yeah!”
Felix nodded and turned back to his book. “Good.” He ignored the rest of the class - he may not be her enemy, but this was a battle she could probably fight herself. She’d grown up as one, right?
Mhm, then again… Felix had grown up in the real world too, and not known about magic until just before school started. Perhaps not. He glared over the top of his book. If this escalated he would step in.
Cesaire was obviously not in the know, as odd as that was considering her constant conspiracy theories, and she instead tried to convince Rossi that Marinette must be being blackmailed into it.
Maybe Felix should just step in, as the only one with any obvious common sense. But how to do so without outing Marinette any more than she had been… he was relatively sure that was plain rude.
“Shut up!” It was Couffaine who spoke up instead. Surprising, she usually spoke in whispers, but Felix wasn’t going to judge. “You’re just being racist, Lila. Marinette would never.”
Rossi barely had a chance to formulate a response around the influx of jeering, before the girl of the hour skidded into the room like a cartoon character. “I’m here!” Marinette called, deftly maneuvering around Rossi and Cesaire’s roadblock at the bottom of the stairs. She slipped into her seat and then looked around. With a roil of disgust, Felix realized they were all staring at her. “Why is everyone so quiet?” Marinette asked, voice rising a little at the end.
Felix moved his glare (because he hadn’t stopped glaring, and he should probably apologize to Marinette later, she did not deserve the full force of it) to the bumblers in front of him.
"Marinette isn't working with Hawkmoth!" Le Chien yelled. That was one way to enter the conversation, Felix supposed. The cacophony returned, worse than before.
Accusation, accusation, defense, accusation, three more defenses, another accusation, and- Marinette slammed her bag onto the table, the ensuing bang and echo louder than it had any right to be.
"Enough!" She took a deep breath, scanning the room until she stopped facing forward, presumably looking at Lila. "I am not working with Hawkmoth, nor would I ever. What started this conversation?"
"Don't lie!" Lika snarled. Felix had to hand it to her, she managed to look hysteric very fast. "I saw you! You had the same smokey bubbles as he uses! You're an accessory to terrorism!" Most of the class recoiled, Marinette included. Felix stood up, preparing to eviscerate Rossi. That was not an accusation you threw around.
“I am not,” Marinette said, voice rough. A breath. “Hawkmoth stole our heart, Lila, I know you know what that means. We’re not on his side just because he decided our sect was powerful enough to corrupt.” Felix noticed her arms were discoloring. He really hoped that was healthy and not an explosion - he was active on the threads. Corrupted magic hurt, and it’s not like Marinette was obvious about hers. “He’s not my friend. He dragged us out of hiding and set bigots on hundreds of people, without even touching on the fact that- oh yeah, he’s a terrorist!” Marinette was breathing heavily. “If I get the chance I might kill him.”
He voice cracked, and Cesaire abandoned her post arguing with Rossi to hug her. Good.
The classroom was silent. Felix found himself nervous, suddenly. This could make or break their dynamics, this passing of judgement. It could set a precedent among the school - high class school, popular students.
"So you’re not evil, just a freak?” Chloe sneered, tone as vicious as ever.
“Marinette is not a freak!” Alya shouted, whirling on the blonde; putting herself between Marinette and everyone else in the room.
Cacophany and chaos reigned. Felix finally moved forward, slipping in Rossi and Bruel’’s row and behind Marinette and Cesaire. He picked up her bag, which was light but still impossible to ignore when he dropped it. “Marinette is not a freak,” he said sharply. The class was quiet again, whether from the novelty of him speaking up or just because they didn’t have anything to say, Felix couldn’t tell. “Magic is real, magic is natural, as you especially should know, Chloe-” he sneered her name, feeling no remorse as her expression became more and more offended. “-since you adore Ladybug so much.
“If Marinette is magic, as it would seem she is, then she has probably been a sorceress all her life, and knowing because Lila jumped to conclusions shouldn’t change anything.”
He didn’t know why he spoke up. Marinette had been doing great, and- well. It’s not like he had much more experience with magic than any of the others in here.
“Hear hear!” Kim shouted from his side of the room.
 “Hear hear!” Rose agreed.
Felix looked around, a little sickened. Marinette had defended herself, and they hadn’t cared much. He said less, and they were cheering?
“Thank you, for speaking up,” Couffaine said suddenly. Her hand and glove were enveloped in black and purple, and when it faded the black glove was blood red. “If anyone else says something against Marinette, you’ll meet me in a dark corner.”
 “Aw,” Lavillant cooed.
Felix did not understand his classmates, but you know what? Whatever. At least Rossi was off her high horse.
“Petition to steal the Butterfly Miraculous from Hawkmoth and give it to Marinette or Juleka?” Kubdel asked, successfully distracting the rest of the class from what was probably a serious threat.
“Signed! I’ll even steal it from him!” Le Chien jumped up, probably only needing a target.
Felix rolled his eyes. Here they go again. A hand landed on his arm, but was pulled away as quickly as it was set there. He looked down.
“Thank you,” Marinette said. Felix nodded stiffly, and started back up the aisle to his seat. Couffaine took his place within the time it took for him to actually sit down, and Felix watched as Couffaine and Marinette fell into a quick, quiet discussion to the background of ‘Project Steal Hawkmoth’s Miraculous.’
 Huh.
***
 “Hey.”
Felix and Allegra both looked up at Alya, who was backpackless as she stood over their table. “What do you need?” Felix asked.
Alya grinned partially. “I wanted to say thank you for defending Marinette earlier. Everybody knows her defense squad needs as many people as we can get.”
Felix bristled. “I’m not going to join her ‘defense squad’. I was being a decent person and restoring order.”
Alya shrugged, and then smirked. “Just you wait, we’ll get you eventually.”
“Oh really?” Felix snarked. “Is Couffaine on board yet?”
Alya snorted. “I got here this summer, Prolux. Who do you think ran it before me?” She winked and left, nearly skipping.
Felix followed her back to her seat with a glare, before turning back to his notebook angrily. He was making a point. He wasn’t friends with Marinette! He didn’t even quite like her. Since when does doing the right thing mean you’re part of a club? He rolled his eyes. Whatever. He and Marinette were excuse buddies, nothing else.
“What was that about?” Allegra asked, also watching Cesaire.
Felix turned to her, settling in his chair. “So you know the Illusion in my class? You won’t believe how low this sucker stooped.”
***
"So you made the news again, Feli dear," Aurora opened, spearing a piece of asparagus before languidly looking up to meet his eyes.
"What did you do?" Emi snorted, piling mashed potatoes onto her plate.
Felix shrugged. "I'm not sure.” It was true. The most noteworthy thing he’d done in weeks was when he and Dira had gone after Andre with Marinette. “What did I do, Mom?" Well, that and Miraculous matters, but Felix would not be in the news then.
Aurora was quiet for a moment, finishing chewing. "You should read the article yourself, so we know we're on the same page."
Felix sighed and pulled out his phone to look himself up. “Rio, how did the presentation go?”
“Calli got stage fright so I did it on my own, but since Calli did a lot of the work I talked to M. Hunt to make sure she’d get credit too.” Caseario explained around his food. Felix didn’t remember what the project was- Hunt… was that the art or history teacher?
He found the article as his parents congratulated Rio.
‘ Prolux heir quoted as supportive of magicians-
Today those scanning the social media section were in for a surprise. One schoolgirl, picture absent, posted an enlightening text post about her school life.
‘Craziest thing happened today guys. One of my classmates came in thinking that another one of my classmates was working with Hawkmoth (which is a very serious allegation, do not make it lightly, nor take it lightly) because she saw them use modification magic. Obviously this started a flame war in class, between evidence and defending the accused. Well, then this classmate came in. Whole room went silent, I’m not kidding. Obvi they were confused, and asked questions. Another classmates yelled ‘(Name) would never work with HM!’ and the debate was back on. Anyway, talking, fighting, etc, until they silence the room and with the most murderous stare ever, said they’d never work with him and that if Hawkmoth ever sent her a butterfly they’d turn it on him. Metal, I tell you. Well, once it was figured out they were a sorcerex (I checked with my friend for the gender-neutral term), our class bully then tried to call them a freak, and everyone was yelling again until @FelixPro comes down from his perch to get after everyone and lecture us on how just because we don’t know crap about it. Magic is totally natural and completely okay. It was so weird? I think that’s the first time he’s come down to talk with us of his own volition? But he made really good points. #petitiontostealthebutterflymiraculoustogiveittotransmissionsorcerexs #theydeserveitmore’
This raised a lot of questions, but of course, no one else has commented. Is it an unpopular opinion in the family? Is it a fake quote? What sort of drama will this pull up?’
The article continued, probably speculating at whether or not his family had Sorcerers in it (and how dare they call them magicians, that made them sound like stage artists) but Felix stopped reading, put his phone away, and continued eating. Honestly. Reporters were at the point of stalking children’s blogs? Just how desperate were they?
“What’s the article about?” Dira asked, moving onto her knees and reaching over the table to steal Emilia’s drink.
“Sorcerers and Sorceresses.” Felix caught the cup on its way back to Emi and took a drink of his own. He wrinkled his nose and looked accusingly down at the pink liquid. “How much powder did you put in that?”
“Too much,” Rio answered for her. Emi wrinkled her nose and glared. Felix gave back the cup,  which Rio then stole.
“Is it true, Felix?” Bryan took it out of his youngest’s hand and split half of the overly-sugary concoction into his own cup, then watered down what he left in Emi’s cup.
Felix took a deep breath. If he were anyone else, he would have avoided their gazes. But he was Felix Prolux. He was an heir, he was cold, in control of his emotions, and never one to shy away from confrontation. Didn’t mean he had to like confronting his parents. He met Aurora’s eyes first, and then turned to the head of the table to meet his dad’s. “Yes.”
“So you really know a witch like Ladybug?” Dira asked, bouncing in her seat.
“Sorceress, not a witch, but yes. I have one in my class, and I know a few others from various places.” He was not going to tell her that she knew Marinette too. Or Allegra. Or Allan. Or Claude. Or- wait. Were all of his friends magical?
 “That’s so cool!”
“It’s not much different than normal. I’ll bet you have one too, they’re just scared to tell anyone.”
Aurore smiled. “I think that’s wonderful, Felix. All of the magical community deserves support, being shoved under a spotlight like this so suddenly.”
Felix smiled back, letting the tenseness bleed out of his shoulders. He dropped his hands to his lap as his fingers started to tingle, and his glove started to deteriorate on que. “Yeah, they do.”

Wishe come true - Adrien AUGreste Day 11 + 12 + 13
This isn't where I pictured this chapter going. I was expecting a full on physical fight between Adrien and Lila, maybe Marinette finally getting Akumatized (though I do have an idea or two for that) but instead, this happened. I don't know if it was too sudden but it felt a bit right and a bit natural. Enjoy! Protection
“Come on, I’m gonna hurl.” Juleka mocked, pulling Adrien away from her brother who’d walked with her to school for the one purpose of seeing Adrien. The two had been giggling over each other, sharing kisses and being a rather in-love couple.
“I’ll remember that next time you and Rose can’t seem to be bothered to make it to your bed!” he called after her, sticking his tongue out when she turned to glare at him.
“Wow Juleka.”
“Shut up!”
“You know what they say, it’s always to quite ones.”
“Adrien, I swear, I will find a way to embarrass you and Luka when your mother eventually comes for dinner.” Juleka swore as their friends laughed at them.
They didn’t notice, or if they had ignored, Lila staring after them. Since Felix’s visit, her mood had been even worse. That whole day she was forced to mourn a mother that wasn’t her, forced to hear stories that she didn’t know, unable to escape it all. Meanwhile Adrien had a party, with Felix who wouldn’t even bother speaking to her. She barely remembered hearing about Felix, other than him pretending to be Adrien and then stealing some ring that belonged to Gabriel. She knew the designer hated his nephew and his sister-in-law and the only thing that had been giving her hope to get through the day was making the relationship worse, lie about Felix doing something, getting him in trouble and keeping the families farther from each other. Except she didn’t even get a chance. Chloe – Chloe of all people – had appeared and offered her condolence and before she could stop it, Felix left with them to some party. They didn’t have a party when Adrien was grieving his mother. Why was her ‘suffering’ different?
“Your dad is back already?” she heard walking into the classroom.
“He has a layover in Paris. He’ll only be landed for about 4 hours and he needs to check back in 2 hours before, so mama said she’s gonna check me out early so we can have one last dinner before he heads out.” Adrien said, sitting sideways at his seat to speak with his friends.
“Aww. Where at?”
“He wants to do it at the Eiffel Tower and we had to convince him for us to just do The Buffets just so we’re not rushing ourselves.”
“Why not Le Grande Paris? It has a shuttle that goes to the airport.”
“He and mama went there before he left.”
“I think it’s nice that your parents are still close enough to have dinner together without you there.” Marinette said. “Manon’s parents can get pretty nasty with each other when they’re alone.”
“Yeah, I guess I’m pretty lucky.”
Lila moved before she could think, grabbing the back of Adrien’s shirt and pulled him off the seat, making him drop to the floor.
“Lucky? You’re lucky? Why is no matter what, you get everything? It isn’t fair!”
It wasn’t. she had his life, the power, but nothing of what he had. The kind smiles and friends who’d do anything for him. The adoring fans and the father who was so overprotective. Lila Rossi had to lie and manipulate to get what she wanted, was willing to do whatever it took to get noticed and to keep the attention. Adrien lorded over everyone and had the nerve to act like he didn’t want it. so, she took it, she took what she deserved, left him to lie his ass off to try and make something of himself and she was ready to make him feel like she had. Instead, no one believed what she said, no one wanted her around, eager to get away from her like Felix did. Adrien was exactly the same as before, surrounded by people who did what they could for him and people eager to be around him. He wasn’t rich, didn’t flaunt luxuries but somehow people wanted to be around him. He was changing people, Chloe being nicer, Felix asking for the ring instead of stealing it, Mateo Rossi. His life, no matter what life he lived, was perfect. It wasn’t fair!
And why wasn’t Hawkmoth akumatizing her? He did it so often before but nothing. Every butterfly was so far from her grasp. Even in this life Hawkmoth didn’t want her. So, she’d make him want her. Who could resist her if she made Adrien hurt? She lifted her bag, ready to slam it on Adrien, who was groaning on the floor, when she was shoved. She went falling off the step, dropping her bag, feeling her body ache. She stared up in surprised at Marinette. She never hurt anyone, didn’t matter how much they deserved it, but she never put her hands on anyone.
“Leave him alone you bitch.”
And she never cursed at anyone.
“What is the matter with you? Adrien has never done a thing to you and you insist on picking on him for no reason. Your life is no reason to treat people the way you do, I don’t care if your mother is missing and your father never leaves the house. You’re a bully and the sooner you just stay home, the happier everyone will be. Maybe if you actually grew a conscious and tried to care about anyone but yourself, maybe people would put up with you. Chloe had been the worst this class ever saw but congrats. You’re so much worse, she realised she needed to change.”
She turned away from her, going over to Adrien who in a matter of moments had been blocked from sight with the rest of the class surrounding him.
“What’s going on?” Mme. Bustier came in, looking confused and stunned at the sight before her.
Lila scrambled up. Mme. Bustier never believed her in this life, but she had a chance. Everyone saw Marinette push her.
“Marinette pushed-”
“Adrien hit his head! Lila pulled him off his seat when he wasn’t paying attention. Mme. Bustier, its bleeding!” Mylene called.
“Marinette pushed me!” she defended.
“Because you hurt Adrien!”
“Don’t for one second think anyone is going to come to your defence. You got what you deserved.”
“Mme. Bustier, Lila is a danger to everyone in this classroom. She attacked Adrien unprovoked.”
Hearing everyone come to Adrien’s defence, protecting him like she was some sort of monster who was out to hurt him, she felt any chance she had of getting her way slip from her grasp.
“Max, go get the headmaster and school nurse, nurse first. Kim, Mme. Mendeleiev to keep an eye on Lila. I need everyone to clear and listen alright?”
“Should I call the ambulance?” Chloe asked. “My dad can get one down here in two seconds flat.”
“Just a second. Adrien, can you here me? How badly does it hurt?”
Lila watched in silence as everyone ignored her, entirely focused on Adrien as their teacher asked for Nathaniel’s jacket to apply pressure, Chloe to get the ambulance she offered and the minute the headmaster arrived with the nurse, orders for Adrien’s parents to be called. She waited in tense silence in Mme. Mendeleiev’s classroom, only visited by the nurse when the door slammed open and her father, Mateo Rossi, stood there, that damned glare on his face. This look she knew well.
“You!”
“Mateo, stop! Deal with her father.”
“This little girl hurt our son Viola. Why? Because you think you can get away with it? you listen to me very well, when we are done with you, you will never step foot in this school again, approach our son again or ever be taken serious again. You think your little lies involving princes, rock stars and superheroes were bad when they were exposed? I won’t rest until everyone knows the kind of spoiled monster Gabriel has as their spokesperson.”
“That won’t be necessary.” The actual Gabriel stood, in the flesh, with Nathalie next to him.
“I am suing. Do you hear me? Suing you for the costs of his hospital bills and the emotional damage your daughter has inflicted on our son. My ex-wife told me what your daughter said to her during parents’ day. Neither of them have done anything to earn her behaviour towards them. I don’t want her around him, do you hear me? If you think I’m joking, please I beg you to continuing showing your clothes in Italy. I have friends who have their finger on the pulse of fashion and I will make it my mission to destroy you.”
“Please, allow me to apologize for my daughter. She will be giving an actual apology herself before she’s removed from the school. I know she had issues, but I didn’t expect them to be this bad. Please, allow me a few minutes with my daughter and we can talk. I will make sure you get what you want, there’s no need to involve courts.”
Mateo continued to breath heavily, showcasing his trapped anger. he turned to Viola and spoke. “the ambulance won’t leave without one of us. You’re here with him, do you want to do this or should I?”
“Any time alone with her and you might be arrested on murder charges. Go with Adrien, I’ll deal with this. you’ll meet me in the headmaster’s office. I’m not afraid to use diplomatic privileges to get you there if I have to.”
No matter how much she lied or begged after, her parents never used their job to get what she wanted.
When they left along with Mme. Mendeleiev, the designer turned to her. “You stupid girl.”
“You can’t speak to me that way!” she gasped.
“Do you not think? Are you really this stupid? Is this what happens when you escape the house? You make mess after mess without any consideration of what your doing affects me? I am constantly at risk of losing the company because you can’t be bothered to think for two minutes about someone other than yourself! I have worked too hard to let you make a mess of this, do you hear me? I’m pulling you from modelling immediately.”
“What?”
“And I’m pulling you out of this school. You wanted to get the chance to experience school? Fine, but not on your terms anymore, with your failing grades and you attacking students. Do you know your teacher has a log of every time you went after the Rossi boy? Most of it was you attacking first. Lady Tomoe had Kagami attending a private school dedicated to discipline and that is where you’ll be going.”
“You’re sending me to Japan? I’m your daughter! I’m the face of this company!”
“Not anymore, you’re not. I don’t need you attacking this boy again because you have nothing better to do with your time.”
He was protecting him, even when he wasn’t his son anymore, Gabriel was protecting Adrien. The look on his face reminded her of Adrien’s when he threatened her after she got Marinette expelled. Unexpectedly cold. This was it, unless Hawkmoth appeared or she could change his mind, she lost. She wouldn’t dream of trying to trick Kagami’s mother. She’d already tried the one time they were invited to a shoot. She might be blind but Tomoe Tsurugi was not stupid. She figured her out in seconds.
She lost, she won the wish but still, she somehow lost. How? How was this possible? How was this fair?
                                                   _____________
“She’s expelled?” Adrien asked, sitting in a hospital bed. His concussion was mild and the cut on his head had stopped bleeding before they reached the hospital and only needed minor stiches but his parents insisted, he stay the night and the doctor agreed. He did stop the mass flood of friends who came to visit, instead allowing his best friends to fill him in.
“Yeah. Gone. He’s moving her to Japan, to Kagami’s old school.” Nino said.
“Girl had stories about that school. I doubt she’ll survive long but as long as she’s no longer our problem, who cares?” Alya stated. “Though Marinette being suspended was so unfair. She wasn’t even hurt. She saved you from worse damage.”
“It’s only for a week. Nathalie told me it won’t affect my internship, but he couldn’t allow me to hurt her, even if it was deserved. My parents already told me they won’t punish me other than making me work at the bakery the whole time, so I think it’s completely worth it.” Marinette said.
“M. Rossi, you have another visitor, one your classmates said you’d want to see?” a nurse asked, poking her head in, waving a very familiar and welcomed face.
“Luka!”
“Are you ok? I got really worried when Juleka told me.” He asked, walking in with flowers in hand. He handed them over, looking Adrien over.
“I’m fine.” Luka looked at the others. “Why are you asking them?”
“Because you have a habit of lying about your health. Feathers ring a bell? But honestly, he’s ok. His parents were just worried and the doctors thought it best to be safe. He’ll most likely be out of here by tomorrow. Which, assuming your parents are ok with it, we’re coming over to toast to Lila’s exclusion. And to think, I used to wish Chloe would be the one to be expelled.”
“Who would have guessed her supposed ‘childhood friend’ would actually make us realise she could be so much worse? Thank god we got what we have no.”
“You know, if coming to class ever interested you, we have the space now.” Adrien said.
“I wouldn’t get anything done with you in the room.” Luka flirted, ignoring their friends’ ribbing as they fake gagged at their romance.
Lila’s wish was only a perfect wish for one person and that person, even while in a hospital bed, had everything he could want.

What would you think if an evilized villain (maybe a wishmaker-like villain or maybe even a villain that's unrelated to the butterfly miraculous) caused Chloe and Zoe to switch bodies somehow, and nobody fully understands what's going on, so Zoe (in Chloe's body) is taken by Audrey back to New York, despite Zoe desperately trying to explain things. But Chloe enters a fugue state (heavily due to trauma caused by the neglect of her parents) and genuinely thinks she's Zoe, and is even able to recall many of the things Zoe did due to being in Zoe's body. The class thinks “Zoe's” change in behavior is due to the psychological effects of method acting, since “Zoe” is playing Chloe in Astruc's new movie, but they gradually convince “Zoe” to let them help her relearn how to be “herself” again. Meanwhile, in New York, Zoe is trying to get back to Paris, but when she gets there, “Zoe” thinks she’s there to try to hurt Marinette.
Eventually, after listening to “Chloe”, Marinette starts to suspect that “Chloe” might be telling the truth, so she decides that she must test “Chloe” and “Zoe”. She fakes being in danger to see how they react. “Zoe” reacts slightly faster than “Chloe”, so Marinette comes to the conclusion that “Chloe” is lying and that “Chloe” has an evil and manipulative plan. Marinette thinks that “Chloe” must have picked up a few tricks from Lila, because she thinks no version of Chloe could possibly react faster than Zoe when it comes to protecting her. So Audrey takes “Zoe” back to New York again to “correct” her after “Zoe” fails to convince anyone of the truth.
12 years later, “Zoe” gets seriously injured after fighting a villain when Ladybug isn’t around, which causes “Zoe” to not have long to live. Then Ladybug accidentally stumbles upon the truth about “Zoe” while trying to help “Zoe” using magical powers. Ladybug decides that the moral thing to do is to switch Chloe and Zoe back to their original bodies. Once Zoe gets her body back, she blames Chloe for her impending death and for leaving her with 12 years of torment, while Chloe got off scot-free. When Lila gets defeated, Zoe steals the Butterfly Miraculous to get her hands on Ladybug and Catnoir’s miraculouses, hoping to “make things right”. Zoe gets defeated by the heroes (including Chloe) and Ladybug manages to cure Zoe’s injuries.
Wow! Okay, hi anon!
Now, I'm not entirely sure why you sent this to me, but I'll answer your question first: what do I think of the scenario?
Well, I see the end result you're trying to go for, but in this context I'm not entirely sure it lands as well as it could if it was approached differently.
First off, the Miraculous Cure would fix the body-swap, so the rest would be null and void, but let's say its the situation that the akuma gets defeated without the Lucky Charm, so the Cure isn't in play - Marinette, being Ladybug, would be aware that there would be cases of people being body-swapped and would be more open to Zoe and Chloé being swapped and not brush it off easily.
Secondly, I doubt this body-swap dealio would last 12 years because Zoe doesn't seem like the type of person who would let this drag on for that long, but let's say it did - I'm certain Ladybug and Chat Noir would do everything in their power to save Zoe, I don't think Zoe would immediately jump to rewriting the universe.
Finally, Chloé wouldn't likely get off scot-free - she knew what was happening the entire time; I doubt trauma caused by the neglect of her parents would make her forget her identity - if anything, Zoe could be just as susceptible of such a thing if that were a thing that could happen, it'd be more likely that she just played along and pretended to be Zoe just because she could. Even if she didn't know it was happening the entire time, I would imagine such a mental state would be taxing over a long period of time, especially as holes/gaps in memory become more apparent over time - remember, Zoe and Chloé have lived apart for quite some time, and have had vastly different life experiences - so I would think that, even if she fought back her doubts about her identity, the doubts would eventually become too strong to deny or ignore and she would have to seek out help and answers. While I do recognise that the human brain is amazing and capable of incredible things, this idea that she doesn't experience these kinds of issues seems a bit far-fetched to me personally.
Overall, I see what you're trying to do, but this approach has opportunities for major plot-holes that could easily unravel the story.
So, I'm curious as to why you asked me this, and I can only think of two potential reasons:
Perhaps you wanted feedback on your story idea If so, thank you for reaching out! I'm happy to help wherever and however I'm able, so feel free to reach out again, but perhaps preface with something like "hey, could you please give me some feedback on this idea I have?" - that way I can make sure my response is catered more towards helping you than making casual observations.
Maybe you were hoping I would be inspired to write your idea into a story myself If this is the case, I'm flattered, and thank you very much! However, in this particular case, it's not something I'm resonating with, nor is this style of story my usual cup of tea, so I'll have to say "thanks, but no thanks". Again, thank you for reaching out, and if it was your intention to ask if this would be something I'd be interested in writing, please mention that in your ask!
To you, anon, and to everyone else reading this post: please don't hesitate to send me an ask! My inbox is open and I'd love to hear from you. Just please be respectful and patient, and I'll do my utmost to respond to you as soon as possible.

Jubilation teaser analysis and speculations (Spoilers below)
The teaser starts off with Marinette jogging through the town, but as she passes by a billboard advertising the new alliance rings, we see that Mr. Damocles, her principal, is once again in his Owl hero costume, climbing up the side of the billboard trying to save a cat that’s stuck at the very top.
Tumblr media
Mr. Damocles means well by dawning his superhero attire but when he first began his heroic efforts, he couldn’t understand that he shouldn’t try to mimic the abilities of the heroes themselves as they are capable of performing abilities beyond the average human body because of their magic suits, which are also indestructible and capable of protecting them from sever damages.  Mr. Damocles was quick to jump into action to help someone in need, but his attempts to help involved putting himself in constant danger as he preferred to perform physical feats that his body couldn’t keep up with.
After realizing that he was putting himself in pointless danger by trying to mimic the heroes in his favorite comic book and the heroes of Paris themselves, Mr. Damocles began to change his outlook on how he could help Paris and began to devote himself to doing as many good deeds as he could that would help the community, such as tending to gardens, providing supplies to the homeless and feeding the animals of the community, if he faced a situation that his body couldn’t handle then he would call on the assistance of other people who had the proper equipment to help him save the day, like calling the fireman to help save a cat with a ladder rather than attempt to once again climb it himself and risk falling from a height that could severely hurt him at his age.
But after  what happened in “Strike Back” when Monarch sent out his message to all of Paris about how powerful he has gotten, Mr. Damocles might be attempting to up his game and increase his involvement in the city, but this may mean he is going to put himself at risk again in situations that could be thought out more logically. The billboard the cat is stuck on has a lift set in place on the side, that lift looks like it  can be used to take a person higher up, but rather than call on the employees who use this equipment or use it himself, Mr. Damocles seems to have chosen the more risky option of climbing the ladder that’s on the side of the billboard.
Tumblr media
The next shot is of Marinette turning around to see him, realizing his presence and probably hearing him say something that alarmed her. But as she turns around we see her notice a girl wearing a Ladybug costume, making her way up the billboard to where The Owl was trying to save the cat.
Tumblr media
Of course seeing The Owl is one thing, but a girl in a ladybug costume brings a whole other problem, its nothing new to see someone else in the show wear a ladybug mask or costume, but if that person wearing the Ladybug costume is willing to run around the city or pretend they are the real Ladybug either to the public or on T.V.(Like how Chloe did in “Antibug”) then that’s going to cause some problems for them and the real Ladybug.
According to the synopsis, the girl in the Ladybug costume is named Soquelin, a former classmate of Marinette’s. Marinette does try to convince her to stop wearing the costume, but weather or not she takes Marinette's word seriously is something we will need to wait for the premier to find out. According to the synopsis, Monarch ends up believing this girl is the real ladybug, and before anyone starts complaining about how he can possibly confuse Soquelin with the real Ladybug, remember that this is still a kids show so “Cartoon Logic” remains regardless of a person not having the benefits of the quantum masking effects provided to them by a miraculous, and by cartoon logic rules, anyone wearing the costume of a hero/protagonist look alike is automatically confused for being the real one unless they reveal themselves or are finally noticed to be an impersonator.
Tumblr media
In the next part of the teaser we see Soqueline talking to Mr. Damocles who looks to be saddened by whatever it is that she said to him. If Mr. Damocles did believe that she was the real Ladybug then perhaps Soqueline decided to take Marinette’s word and reveal to him that she wasn’t the real Ladybug to prevent him from taking her performance seriously, of course news like that would sadden Mr. Damocles as he could have been very excited in believing he was finally fighting crime and helping Paris at Ladybug and Cat Noir’s level, but to know that the girl he sided with was not Ladybug and had no real motivation to be a hero other than just play pretend would be enough to leave him vulnerable  to be akumatized by Monarch into The Dark Owl in this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The remainder of the teaser shows Ladybug and Cat Noir fighting The Dark Owl and Monarch being shown using the power of the miraculous to better transport his akumas, with the horse miraculous, to where he needs them at a much faster pace, but aside from akumatizing Mr. Damocles , we also see that he has provided Dark Owl the power of the Pig miraculous, but not the miraculous itself. Why he is provided the pigs power is anyone guess but if Mr. Damocles got upset over being lied to by Soqueline about being Ladybug and if Monarch is targeting her, then he might have given Dark Owl the pigs power so he could confirm if Soqueline was really Ladybug or not.
Tumblr media
Dark Owl uses some sort of ray gun that is able to blast the gift of the Pig’s power rather than a tambourine like Pigella’s, and knowing this is the power that shows a persons deepest wish while surrounding that image in a pink light, this means that the next image of Cat Noir and Ladybug kissing is the result of one of them being hit with the pigs power, which is bad because a person will remain still as their deepest wish is being revealed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also see Monarch touch the ring with the symbol of the Pig, so its pretty obvious he is using the rings themselves to send the villains the power of the miraculous, how he is able to do that is something I don’t know just yet but it must have something to do with the kwamis since they are capable of doing all sorts of things around technology, like phasing through walls or elevators to open them up (which Tikki did in “Oblivio”) and remaining invisible through any technology that records them.
Ladybug can also be seen picking up an alliance ring in the teaser, this ring very quickly shines a pink light before being picked up by Ladybug, I don’t know if she noticed the light but I wonder if Ladybug will begin to suspect that something is off about the rings now that she and Cat Noir have faced a second Akumatized villain using the power of the miraculous, but without the actual miraculous on them to take back once they return them to normal.

___________________________________________
CHAPTER 5
After the concert, Marinette told Alya to cover for her as she wanted to spend the last hours the Phantoms had left in the lifer's world, purposely omitting the red moon spell talk. Alya agreed and said her goodbyes to them- adding a knowing thank you for having kept their promise to her.
Luka had insisted they shouldn't try the spell out, not trusting Felix. Marinette didn't agree, but she didn't push it. She didn't want to fight when they didn't have much time left... They kept the topic under the lid, as if it never happened…
Under the moonlight by the river-side, the band found themselves stargazing, waiting for the time to come. So much to remember- so much yet unsaid…
"The full moon is so bright tonight…" Marinette commented. “It almost looks as if she is saying goodbye to you, too. Maybe that's where you'll go when you cross over… Or maybe Mars or some other planet!"
"No way, Marinette!" Luka laughed. "You want us to become martians now?" He mimicked an alien voice and everyone laughed. "It would be nice to see you from up there, though…" he added, melancholic.
“I would become an astronaut if that meant I could meet you again!” Marinette grinned. The Phantoms laughed at her cuteness.
“I would love that so much,” Luka said.
When Marinette let out a sound he recognized as the one she usually made when looking for how to answer, he realized he put too much of his honest feelings in his last statement, so he changed the topic. "Are you ok about Rose, Juleka?"
The question surprised the long-haired ghost. She stared at the unicorn pin that now rested on the palm of her hand. "There's nothing I can do. She's gone. She protected me and all of us… I hope what we did was enough to avenge her so she's happy wherever she is now… It would be nice if I end up with her after crossing over. I don't want to part ways with her…"
"Letting go isn't easy, right…?" Marinette spoke without thinking, leaving Luka with his eyes opened and Juleka and Ivan exchanging knowing smiles.
"You sound like you have someone specific in mind…" Juleka teased.
"What!? I- I don't- I- I just love you guys!" she shyly answered and they went ‘Awww’ at her.
"You weren't thinking of love, then?" Juleka teased and Marinette blushed at the question.
“What about Adrien? He’s cute and he likes you,” Luka asked, bottling his emotions inside. ‘Plus he’s alive…’
Marinette took a blow at his words. Did he really think…? She gulped before answering. “Well- It’s true I used to like Adrien, but I don’t anymore. I already rejected him when he confessed a while ago.” That part momentarily shocked the Phantoms. “He’s not the one I want. I always want the impossible...” She sighed, looking at the moon.
“Really?” Luka asked, incredulous. “Then whoever that person is, they must be an idiot. You’re the most extraordinary girl I’ve ever met, Marinette. I can’t ever imagine anyone turning you down.”
Juleka and Ivan shared a secretive smile, and Marinette turned her head to look at Luka’s face. He was staring at the moon reflected on the water while humming. She couldn’t be sure if the red light on his cheeks was due to the moonlight or if he was blushing, but she was certain he was the reason her face burned.
“What if...” she started, and Luka turned to her, staring at her eyes in equal expectation and adoration as hers, but in what he convinced himself was unreasonable yet unstoppable hope. “What if that person was-”
A sudden alarm startled them.
5 minutes to 2AM.
'Already?’ Marinette lamented.
“Marinette, don't tell me you…” Luka whispered.
“I'm sorry, guys, but I can't not try the spell out. Let’s do this," Marinette finally said, hiding her trembling and fears while standing up. The Phantoms shared uncertain looks between them, but it was Luka who voiced their concerns.
“Are you sure, Marinette? You know it could be a trap… I don't think we're worth the risk…”
“You're worth it! More than worth it! I don't want to part ways with you, and if there is the slightest chance, then… We’ll never know if we don’t try…”
Marinette wasn’t convinced either. Felix was a trickster. A liar. But she knew what she was about to lose. And she didn’t want to give up without pulling a fight. The clock marked a few seconds before 2AM… “Here I go…” She inhaled deeply. “Kwamis, release the magic,” she said when the clock hit the right time. The moon glowed bright red over them. “Kwamis, release the magic,” she repeated. “Kwamis-”
“-release the magic,” the Phantoms joined in unison.
Three times.
The spell was completed.
Did it work?
There was a second of silence before Marinette leaned over to look at Luka’s wrist. It glowed brighter than before, now in red instead of teal. Too bright to see if the countdown was still there. Could it be-?
Out of a sudden, a blinding flash and a sound interrupted Marinette’s thoughts from behind, and they quickly turned to the source of the new panting voice.
“Oh, dear… So you really did try it out.” An evil laugh followed said voice.
“Felix!? How did you escape!?” the band gasped, and stood up to face him. The Phantoms glared at the magician and moved to cover Marinette from the evil ghost that had just appeared in front of them.
“Wow, wow! What an unfriendly welcome!” He smirked, his arms opened ironically.
“No! Then… the spell was-” Marinette fell on her knees, trembling, and Felix's smile widened evilly.
“You really underestimated me… I'm a magician… I have my own tricks and powers under my sleeves…”
“But you’re not supposed to be able to leave the hotel! We trapped you there! How?” Marinette demanded.
“You forgot the curse was originally created by ME… And let’s say the red moon turned out to be a great ally tonight… Plus your friend Rose… You shouldn’t have let me touch that hairpin. I owned her soul. I can use her and her possessions as I please.” He laughed, proudly.
“You've tricked us!” Ivan yelled, and Juleka's fists clenched tightly.
“Oh dear… so much aggression… I’m just here to say goodbye to my ghost friends… How ungrateful.” His raspy voice gave them shivers.
“Ungrateful!?” Juleka growled. Her nails were sinking to her skin. “After everything you’ve done to us!? To Rose!?”
“Oh, I did nothing except give you a generous offer…” He smirked. “Same with Rose. The difference is she actually accepted it instead of fighting it back. Stupidly, I must add.” He shrugged, amused.
“You killed her, you bastard!” Juleka had her punch ready, but Luka stopped her.
"Oh- my! No one can kill what's already dead, dear..." Felix commented. "I just kept our pact rules."
Juleka was growling, stopped only by Ivan's strong arms holding her still.
“Enough! Stop playing with us and tell us why you are here in truth!” Luka asked aggressively. He was standing in front of Marinette, covering her as she trembled. “If you touch even one of Marinette’s hairs I swear I’ll-”
“You’ll what?” He laughed. “You can do nothing against me. You won’t catch me unprepared again. See? I can paralyze you anytime.” He snapped his fingers, whispering 'venom,' and all of a sudden the ghost's bodies froze. They tried to free themselves, but could do nothing but watch as he stepped closer. “Another benefit of the red moon." He laughed. "It’s useless to resist. I have other ‘tricks’ if you want to try my patience.”
“Let them go!” Marinette yelled and Felix looked back at her. His lips curled playfully.
“Don’t you dare touch Marinette or I swear I’ll destroy you!” Luka screamed.
Felix laughed evilly at his reaction. “My, my! How unfortunate… A ghost falling in love with a lifer… Poor boy... Good thing you’ll soon cross over and won’t have to suffer from impossible love anymore.”
Luka glared at Felix, growling in absolute wrath and Marinette’s heart skipped a beat in hope. ‘Love?’ The magician laughed again when he passed beside Luka, and Marinette gasped when he planted himself in front of her. She didn’t have time to think before he grabbed her arm, picking her up from the floor. “Ah!”
He was touching her. He wasn’t supposed to be able to do that. Yet he was. She gasped again in horror.
“Now, now… Should I make her cross over too so you don’t have to say goodbye, or will you give me what I want willingly?” he asked.
“Let her go!” “Don’t touch her!” “Leave her alone!” The ghosts yelled, unable to break the paralyzing spell.
“W- What do you want!?” Marinette demanded, challenging. “If you hurt my friends I’m going to make sure you’re the one who crosses over!” Where she got the courage was a mystery to her, but she continued. “Let them go or you’ll regret it!”
“Oh, my… What a brave girl…“ His smile widened. “And what do you plan to do? Do you really think I haven’t learned my lessons?” His glacial voice gave her shivers. “I still don’t know why you can see us, but I have a feeling you may have something I’ve been looking for for a long time…” Felix raised his hand and touched one of her pigtails.
“DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH HER!” Luka shouted.
“Shhh… Your turn will come too, patience…” His evil laugh rang close to Marinette’s ears. His hand slid down her hair, his fingers around her neck… and then, he forced her mouth to open. She knew what came next: possession. "Let's find out what's the secret behind your mysterious powers…"
“No- Luka, help me!” she yelled in a final desperate cry. And darkness came next. Luka shut his eyes as tightly as he could.
‘Marinette, no!’

10 years later, “Zoe” gets seriously injured after fighting a villain when Ladybug isn’t around, which causes “Zoe” to not have long to live. Then Ladybug accidentally stumbles upon the truth about “Zoe” while trying to help “Zoe” using magical powers. Ladybug decides that the moral thing to do is to switch Chloe and Zoe back to their original bodies. Once Zoe gets her body back, she blames Chloe for her impending death and for leaving her with 10 years of torment, while Chloe got off scot-free.
I've read something similar but I can't remember who wrote it.

With what little of what we saw of The Goat Miraculous, we all assumed it would be a death/rebirth power cuz a goat is the main animal used for sacrifices cuz it vaguely resembles the devil. Instead, it had a very similar power to what Nathaniel had when he was Evillustrator. The power to create any object! Although, it just makes the object, it doesn’t actually possess any magical property. It’d be smart if the holder, like Caprikid, cleverly used it to make people think it’s effective like making them believe the “magic” wand is actually magic! (“Penalteam”). If let’s say, it were in the hands of an evil genius, then we’re all f**ked! Was it given to one? Let’s see:
*Passion-Ok, so uh, last we checked, the love square is now in reverse. Marinette/Ladybug is done w/ Adrien and now wants Cat Noir and Adrien/Cat Noir is done w/ Ladybug and now wants Marinette. Even if that’s the case, they still can’t be together cuz as Alya pointed out, it would be revealing their identities which as Plagg pointed out would cause trouble *cough*Cat Blanc/Ephemeral*cough*, but Tikki reassured us that the love square won’t happen cuz both their holders are are too shy and awkward to confess! Phew! (or at least ‘til the last minute hook up thing since it’s obvious they’re endgame).
Another thing! Adrien is pleased to see that Gabe is now “Mr.Sunshine” (“Illusion”) and actually in his company more often. Nathalie, whom I was wondering why the f**k she was back in the mansion since she quit (“Evolution”) and it turns out, she’s only staying to protect Adrien from Gabe who’s gone mad despite the “Mr.Sunshine” act. Gabe is now more desperate for the heroes miraculouses cuz the cataclysm he endeared (“Destruction”) is getting worse, just like Nathalie’s condition from the formally broken Peacock Miraculous, and that they need to act fast before it’s too late.
Nathalie convinces Gabe to akumatize her as a villainess that always hits her target and she becomes Safari! A purple skinned huntress/explorer/adventurer with the power of the Goat Miraculous! Don! Don! Don! She creates her weapon as a crossbow that Monarch has shoot at least 5 different miraculous powers! Like The Bee Miraculous! Fortunately, it’s only targets are the heroes, so it was safe in their civilian forms and their miraculous switcher-roo like before (“Reflekdoll”). Ha! Ha! Guess that power didn’t really end up in the hands of an evil genius after all! Even if it was Nathalie! Whomp! Whomp! Whomp!
From this moment onwards in the reverse love square, we’ll be seeing flirty Marinette/Ladybug w/ Cat and dreamy Adrien/Cat Noir w/ Marinette. However, Marinette is still awkward around Adrien despite “moving on” and still wants to avoid him to not get distracted if Monarch gets the upper hand. Yeah, distracted, we’ve seen how that went *cough*Desperada*cough*. Today she was no better! (whispers) She tried to ask out Cat Noir to the movies and got paralyzed! Literally! Stick to your duties Ladybug! (Maybe she shouldn’t be in love?). Finally, Adriens seeing Marinette for the extraordinary person she is after all she’s done in the show to be semi popular and Marinette sees there’s more to Cat Noir than just puns and goofiness. She’s more at ease with him and despite her big f**k up in the Season 4 finale, he still stayed by her side! Also, she thinks she’s not worthy enough for celebrity icon Adrien whereas she thinks Cat is just “some average Joe in a mask”. Oh if only she knew! Alya doesn’t need to jump ship, more like, “change the color of the sails”. It’s still the same boat! 😂. Here’s what I found out! Gabe isn’t bullsh*ting being “nice” to get Adrien to stay on his side, but because his days are numbered from his weakening of the cataclysm mark on his arm and if he does end up dying, he wants Adrien to remember him as a “loving and caring” father. Same goes with Nathalie who’s risking working with a madman and also slowly dying from the formally broken peacock miraculous to protect the little sunshine boy! If they don’t get the dynamic duos miraculouses asap, they’re goners and Adrien will be left all alone. What about his bodyguard? The gorilla? Is he not around? We get a brief flashback to a young Gabe, Nathalie and Emilie dressed as Indiana Jones expies and it’s how they looked when they were on their miraculous search. Wonder if we’ll get a more deeper flashback to that? In a heart wrenching moment, Emilie had left behind some video messages telling Nathalie that if “anything” happens to her, Gabe should move on and not try anything “drastic” to bring her back cuz the important thing to do is just be there for Adrien’s sake with or without her. She believed Nat would do the “motherly” part ღ. Unfortunately, like Ems predicted, Gabe is more stubborn than a mule and refuses to accept this as Emilies last wishes and thus the start of darkness happened! :P Gabe! YOU FAILED EMILIE! BIG TIME! Then again, we never would’ve had this tv show.

You really send this ask to everyone, eh?
The base scenario is interesting, I'm not sure how it would fit in the canon but there could be something like that I guess, as a fanfic scenario that would be very interesting
Where I think things would go differently is that I don't believe Zoé would just accept her fate and stay with Audrey. After she fails to prove herself to Marinette (if she does, bc I think there are things only her and Marinette know and she could use them but let's say she fails for scenario, that kind of thing happen all the time in Miraculous) she would run away either in France or back in New York. And there I think she's either skilled enough to not get caught or Audrey doesn't care enough to try to get her back
I also have a few doubts about Marinette and especially "Zoé" just being okay with "Chloé" being taken back to New York, sure they didn't really think any ill of it the first time (in canon) but they kinda had other things on their mind at the time + Chloé just did something really awful. But with some time and hindsight they would remember (mostly "Zoé" but she could easily convince Marinette) how terrible and neglectful/abusive Audrey is, and "Chloé" could end up "admitting" she's Chloé but did that only to not being with Audrey anymore and that she's once again willing to be a better person and all (remember Zoé can lie and pretend, only she did it mostly to protect herself, but she's good at it) they would probably try to get her to stay, again especially "Zoé" bc she would like to help her sister (I think Zoé said she wanted to at some point? not sure, I should rewatch someday). Also I don't think André would be as suspicious, if his daughter get back to him like "I'm so sorry daddy I understand what I've done was wrong, I'll try to be better" he would trust her, especially if she obviously is better, like I mean from the begining remember people's names and all
But yeah if they don't, Zoé would probably run away, she wouldn't just wait 10 years until she discover her body is dying, et the very last she would only wait 4 years until she's legally adult (she would still be a minor but not "Chloé") and just break ties with Audrey
Also I straight up do not believe the "moral thing to do" that Ladybug would come up with would be to let Zoé die in a body she didn't hurt herself lmao
Anyway, good base scenario tho, I like it, you should write this fanfic!
Also it was fun! Feel free to take or not some of my suggestions into account and, if you want to, send me a new ask with the new version? Or if you prefer your version, to explain me why, it would be interesting either way

Can you please do a platonic Yandere Adrien, Luca and Marinette. 🙏
Please don't read this if you are uncomfortable with the yandere!
Pairing: Yandere! Marinette x Reader, Yandere! Adrien x Reader, Yandere! Luka x Reader
tw: disturbing thoughts, blackmail, manipulation, threats
Hope you like it~ Thank you very much for waiting ( ´ ∀ `)ノ~ ♡
I also want to belatedly congratulate everyone on Valentine's Day. Wishing you more love this year. And may our beloved non-existent characters always be in our hearts! ( ╥ω╥ )
MARINETTE
-Her obsession with Adrien fades into the background. Now she is more preoccupied with your friendship. Marinette is always there. Joint study tasks, creative projects, walks, family games (You are part of her family. Dupain-Cheng family loves you). She sometimes feels insecure, so she is very jealous. Will do her best to push all your friends away from you (and from her, if necessary). To achieve the goal, she is ready to deviate from the principles and to use the Miraculouses for selfish purposes.
-You are not only her friend, but also a muse. She loves to sew outfits for you and give you other handmade gifts. All her notebooks are filled with drawings of you. You will have to be a model for all her projects. If you don't want, she will find a way to convince you (Will it be a cookie bribe or a threat to friends? You choose :) ).
-You (yet) can't spend every second with her. Marinette feels uncomfortable being alone, therefore, at such moments, she needs confirmation of your friendship. Usually these are millions of joint photos, paired pendants and your gifts for her. She keeps all the valuables in plain sight. It reminds her of you.
-Even when she becomes a Guardian to the Miracle Box, there's no way you'll get one. No. It's too dangerous. Sometimes she wants to give up everything in order to have more time for you. But she understands that then the threats will not disappear, and she will no longer be able to protect you.
ADRIEN
-His biggest fear is to scare you away, so Adrien is very careful. It will be difficult for you to notice his strange behavior. If suspicions arise, he will definitely remind you of his loneliness and poor socialization (Is it wrong to be so clingy? Oh, sorry, he didn't know, because he had few friends since childhood. He does not know how to properly behave with them. You don't want to date today? Father recently also broke a promise to spend the day together. You shouldn't leave him, because you are friends).
-Adrien is rich and generous. His gifts will be uncomfortably expensive. You will get everything that you have long wanted (He remembers what you're talking about), designer things (It reminded him of you), an offer to travel with him for work in another city/country (It's alright as long as you don't interfere with work. One gets bored. And together you can walk around the neighborhood together).
-Probably admits that he is Chat Noir. Adrien trusts you completely and doesn't want to keep secrets from you. Lets you get the most out of it. Do you want a joint photo with the hero to brag to everyone? Certainly. Anything for his dear friend.
-He allows you to communicate with other people. The guy is sure that you will return to him. If anyone gets too arrogant, Adrien will pay them to leave. If they refuse the offer... Adrien will find another way to get rid of them. In the meantime, you are crying on his shoulder, the guy will smile with satisfaction. He did a great job "clearing" his best friend's life of bad people.
LUKA
-Soft but tenacious yandere. He also tries to spend all his free time with you. First of all, he tries to captivate you with creativity. He will teach you how to play the guitar if you're interested. He will invite you to write songs together if you play any instrument. Offers to combine your two different hobbies (Hey. You can sew/draw/knit/sculpt while he plays). Starts working more to be able to take you to cafes and shops. He will find the most picturesque places in Paris to invite you for a walk there. He will make you friends with his family so that you often want to visit them all.
-Luka tries to respect your personal space. He really tries. But it is vital for him to touch you. It's comforting. Be prepared to hug and hold hands. If you are uncomfortable, he will offer alternative options: you can clasp your little fingers or he will hold on to the strap of your bag/your sleeve while you are walking.
-If you ask him if he hears your music, he will play it with pleasure. However, sometimes he refuses. At such moments, instead of the usual favorite melody, Luka hears something disturbing. He starts thinking about your friendship. Is it normal to feel this way towards you? Friends shouldn't be obsessed with each other... right? But then he distracts himself from these thoughts. No. Everything is fine. He's just worried about you. Friends are supposed to take care of each other. He sincerely loves you and wants only the best for you. Today is just a hard day. He will take you for ice cream.
-Luka doesn't like it when you hang out with someone else, but he handles it with patience. He thinks he has no right to isolate you. Tries to adjust the situation so that you do not meet alone with other friends. He doesn't need you to get too close to someone else. Of course, chat with this person, but Luka will be there. Do you want to meet someone? He can also invite his friends. In a big company it will be much more fun. Did you meet someone on the street? Just say hello and leave. You hurry.
- Luka is a non-confrontational person. He will not arrange loud quarrels if he does not like something. But he has learned to skillfully manipulate you. His advice seems so right. Everything he tells you makes sense. So, just thank Luka for taking care of you. He is a truly valuable friend.

Not related to the other two Bio!mom Harley AUs that I did. Just... similar. I wrote this instead of sleeping, as per the usual.
—*—*—*—*—*
“I need your help.”
No accent, no threats of violence, no beating around the bush (figurative or otherwise). No fighting or unconscious bodies.
Just Harley Quinn with her hair down, no makeup, and completely serious, in the center of the Bat Cave. Even though her usual exaggerated Brooklynn accent (circa 1950s) had become a pretty inseparable part of her personality over the years, every now and then she forcibly stuffed it down and used her mostly unaccented voice. The one reminiscent of days with less colors on her face, a high bun, and a pristine white lab coat.
Every single one of the Bats and Birds present, fresh from an interrupted patrol thanks to her, could count the number of times they had seen Harley like this on one hand. Bruce would have the most recollections, but everyone else would have plenty of fingers left on said hand. So they all knew, especially when Bruce willingly pulled down his cowl so he could look Harley in the eye, that this was the start of something they were not likely to forget. And maybe their chances of survival were slim too.
“Harley,” Bruce’s voice was still gruff, seeing as he was still mostly Batman at the moment, but his eyes were soft. “Maybe you should tell us what you need help with first. And sit down. You look exhausted.”
Sure enough, there were dark circles under Harley’s eyes. She let Bruce-man lead her over to one of their debriefing tables and sit her down. She let out a huge sigh, her fingers tangling in her loose blond locks.
“I have a confession, and it isn’t gonna leave this cave, capiche?” The slight return of her accent relieved a little of the tension, but not much. Taking this as their cue, the rest of the bats spread out into their usual seats at the table. Bruce stayed near Harley, keeping a hand on her shoulder in silent support. Harley didn’t continue talking until he gave her a solemn nod in agreement. She gulped— an action that immediately returned the tension.
“... fifteen years ago, back when I was still with Joker, I disappeared off the Gotham scene for a few months. I’m sure a few of you remember,” she looked up, and a couple of the older vigilantes nodded. Really, Jason has still been Robin back then. But the memory stuck out in his head now that he was thinking about it.
“Yeah, you were breaking away from him a little bit, which was weird at the time,” Red Hood mused aloud, arms crossed. “I think you helped us out a couple times and did some of your first team ups with Ivy before you vanished. Then a few months go by and you were back in action with Joker, so we mostly ignored it as you just being you.”
Harley nodded. “Ah, my Ivy’s a lifesaver, even back then. She helped cover up the timeline by keeping me in action for longer than I should’a been without putting me at too much risk.”
“Timeline…” Red Robin spoke up, eyes huge even behind his mask. “You don’t mean—“
“Harley,” Bruce breathed, having also caught on. “You were pregnant?”
The air went still. Harley sniffed, eyes watering even as she smiled.
“Oh yeah. Shouldn’t have been possible, ya know? Me ‘n Joker being dumped in that damn acid should have made us both more sterile than an operatin’ room. But I knew I couldn’t raise a kid, so after she was born—“
“You kept her?” Damian interrupted, earning a gentle cuff over the head from Dick. Harley just snorted.
“Yeah. Not gonna lie, I thought about abortion. But the baby didn’t do nothin’ wrong, and I was still in love with Joker back then so I was ecstatic that I was able to make something new with part ‘a him in it. Still, I knew a baby didn’t deserve to be raised in Gotham. Especially not my baby, not with my enemies and history. Not with who her father was. I knew he’d never want her, never let me keep her. So I spent the last five months of my pregnancy lookin’ around for the best possible family to take her in. And I found them in Paris, France. A sweet couple, both of them bakers. Sabine, she’s both adorably sweet and super kickass. Comes from a Chinese family that is crazy about teachin’ their women martial arts. But nothing shady about it, I triple checked. Just bonding through kicking people in the face. Which is perfect, I wanted my baby to know how to defend herself. I knew she’d need those skills eventually. And Tom, that’s Sabine’s wife, he’s a gentle giant. Same size as Bane, but as harmless as a puppy and makes the best croissants ever. Seriously, the best.”
“Harley,” Bruce gently prodded, but there was a tiny grin on his face. Seeing her behaving so… so normally, so proud and reminiscent, was a rare treat. Bruce would be lying if he said he wasn’t proud of how far the woman had come. How she had freed herself and become a better person, mostly on her own.
“Right, right. The point,” Harley took a breath, rubbing her forehead. “I came clean to Tom and Sabine, but apparently they knew who I was the whole time. They just didn’t care— did I mention they are perfect? Anyway, once I explained everything, they agreed immediately to adopting my baby. They’d been wanting kids, but it would’a been too risky for Sabine’s health. That’s how I found them anyway, they were in the market to adopt. We named her Marinette. She took Tom and Sabine’s last names, hyphenated. We decided Quinn would be her middle name. And after that, I came back to Gotham and told myself that she was in good hands and I needed to forget about her. Cuz I was no good for her. I knew that. I went back to my old tricks. And then…” Harley chuckled, but it was self-depreciating.
“Then a few years passed, and I started breaking away from Joker for real. Then we broke up, I blew up Ace Chemicals while you guys were outta town doing Justice League and Young Justice shit. I started dating Ivy. And—“ she smiled softly at the table, clearly seeing something the rest of them couldn’t. “Then Ivy convinced me to go see her. Visit my baby, see how she’s been. And I did. Marinette was seven years old, but damn it to hell she was gorgeous. And say whatever you want about me and Joker— most of it will even be true— but neither of us are stupid. And she inherited all of our intelligence. All of it. She got my blue eyes. But she got his hair, which meant Sabine teased me relentlessly about ‘are you sure she isn’t that Wayne’s kid?’ And don’t make that face Bruce, you’d be lucky to have a kid half as beautiful as my Mari-pie. No offense, Damian. Anyway. Anyway, this is the important part. Or part of it.
“She sat there and listened to everything I had to say. Everything. A little seven year old, who could barely understand English at the time, and she listened without interrupting once. She never threw a fit, she wasn’t angry or confused. I told her about the things I’d done in the past— well, G rated versions— and she didn’t care. She called me Momma Harley right away, said she wanted to meet Aunt Ivy sometime soon, and started telling me everything about her that I’d missed. From that day on, she became my sunshine. The light of my life, and I still call her at least once a week every week. When I disappear for a few days out of the city? I’m visiting her—“
“You’re banned from international travel, Harley,” Dick scolded, but he sounded way too amused for it to work. He knew she had her ways, anyway. Nobody could actually stop Harley damn Quinn from doing whatever she wanted.
“—Ugh, she tells me the same thing every time! Disappointed glare and everything. I don’t know how I gave birth to such a goodie goodie, but somehow I did. Not important though! The important thing is, I’m always the first to hear when something new happens in her life. And we had decided that she wouldn’t visit me in Gotham until she was at least eighteen, but apparently she disobeyed me— which I should have expected honestly— and entered you guys’ WE international scholastic competition.”
“Oh no,” Bruce pinched the bridge of her nose. “Marinette Dupain-Cheng? The contest winner?” He finally pulled out a chair and sat down. “The winner gets an all-expense paid trip to Gotham for them and their whole class.”
“Exactly!” Harley threw up her hands. “Mari told me last week, and I’ve been trying to talk her out of coming ever since. But she’s inherited both of our stubbornness too, and she isn’t budgin’ a bit. ‘Momma Harley, I wanna see you and Auntie Ivy though!’ And ‘Momma, Gotham’s nothing I can’t handle,’ or my favorite, ‘Maybe you’ll finally get to see me dropkick someone three times my size then, and I’ll prove it.’”
“So that’s what you meant by you need our help,” Tim said as he leaned forward over the table. “Joker just broke out of Arkham yesterday. You want us to protect her.”
“I’d prefer if one of you was with her outside of the mask too, as often as possible,” Harley confirmed. “I can’t stop her from coming here anymore, but I also don’t trust Joker for a second. As soon as he sees her, I’m afraid he’ll make the connection.”
“She looks like him?” Damian asked, scrunching up his nose at the ugly mental image of Joker as a teenage girl. Harley shook her head, solemn.
“She looks like a dark-haired mini-me,” she corrected. “She even keeps her hair in pigtails as her way of showing support for me. And I know Marinette can kick ass, Sabine’s trained her well. But Marinette inherited more than I’d like from me,” Harley ran a hand through her hair. “I didn’t notice it until she was thirteen. She got a crush on a classmate, and it was almost like watching videos of me back during the early days of— well, of Harley Quinn. Just without the crime and insanity. She didn’t even realize that she was almost stalking the poor kid until I pointed it out, and luckily I was able to put my doctorate to good use and we nipped that right in the bud ASAP. She never meant it that way, anyway. As soon as I explained things to her, she was horrified and immediately asked me to help her learn how to have a healthy relationship. That was a fun discussion,” Harley grimaced. “But she still gets attached to people really, really easily. Once she grew out of her crush on that boy, she adopted him as her unofficial brother. She already calls Selina “Auntie,” even though I’ve barely mentioned her to Marinette. She gets attached fast, and deeply. And I’m afraid that even after all the warning I’ve done, all the stories I’ve told her—“
“You’re afraid she’ll get attached to Joker just like you did,” Bruce finished for her, closing his eyes. “Because she knows he’s her father.”
“Yes,” Tears were slowly dripping down her face already, her hands curled into fists so tightly that her knuckles were paper white. “You know how he is. If he finds out she’s his biological daughter, he’ll immediately try to take advantage of that. And he’s far too good with his words for people like me and Mari. I’m worried outta my mind. Please. Help keep my baby safe from him.”
“We will,” Jason no longer had his helmet on, or the domino mask that he usually wore underneath it. All of them knew masks were merely formality with Harley nowadays. And he needed to look her directly in the eye so she could see how serious he was. “I can sign up as a bodyguard for the class. It won’t be weird, seeing as they’re tourists and this is Gotham. They also have several rich kids in their group if I remember right.”
Bruce nodded, agreeing with Jason. “That’s a good idea. I can lead the class on their tours of WE personally. That’ll serve the purpose of keeping an eye on her and shutting up the investors that keep begging me to make more public appearances for the sake of the company. Marinette’s name is already released to the news as the winner of the contest, so we can’t keep her out of the spotlight long. Tim, you’ll have to keep an eye on any and all pictures of the class. Try to erase or doctor the images with her in it well enough that connections between her and Harley can’t be easily made. Dick, you and Damian will be in charge of keeping an eye out for any activity from Joker. The slightest hint, and you notify all of us. We’ll decide on a case-by-case basis who is necessary to stick with the class and who goes after the clown.”
“She’s gonna sneak out of her hotel to stay with me and Ivy,” Harley admitted, bringing the (now slightly judgemental) attention back to her. She raised her hands up in surrender. “She didn’t tell me that, and I didn’t approve or suggest it! I just know my baby too well to not realize that that’s her plan. Could ya provide an escort?”
Bruce sighed. “This is gonna be an eventful month.”

I need more Bustier salt. Please, if you can. It’s dumb I know but I just really need it. She is awful. I hate the fact she says these awful things to bullied kids and gets no repercussions.
Caline Bustier was in a generally good mood that day. Outside of Chloe, her students had been extra quiet and it had been a peaceful time all around. She smiled about it while grading papers, believing that all was well in the world.
Then, the door flew open, slamming into the wall so loudly that Caline nearly jumped out of her seat. At first, she thought it might be an akuma, but there was instead a woman standing in the doorway, the intensity of her magenta hair unable to compete with the fire in her eyes.
Caline cleared her throat, a hand to her chest as she tried to calm herself from the shock. “Um... hello,” she greeted, cautious but trying to be polite. “I’m sorry, have we met? I don’t recognize you. Are you the mother of one of my students?”
The woman’s gaze flashed with brief offense, at which point she stormed over, slamming her identification onto the desk; yet another loud noise that made Caline jump.
“I’m Penny Rolling,” the woman introduced. “I’m Jagged Stone’s agent and I’ve worked with one of your students: Marinette Dupain-Cheng?”
“Ah.” Caline’s gaze flicked down to the identification, confirming that the information was accurate, then looked back up. “Yes, that’s my student. Is there a problem?”
“As a matter of fact, there is,” Penny replied curtly. “We asked Marinette to make a poster for us, and rewarded her by taking her to an event. Jagged adores her, so he would talk up her work to anyone within earshot.”
“Alright,” Caline said steadily, confused but her tone urging for the rest of the explanation.
Penny’s shoulders visibly tensed as she recounted the experience. “A rich upstart decided to come up to us and talk trash about Marinette’s work. They mocked her poster and called it a rush job, they said that her album cover was amateur, and they criticized the pair of glasses that she made for Jagged; his favorite.”
Caline shifted in her seat, unsure of what she had to do with all of this.
“Jagged was absolutely furious, but Marinette didn’t say a word to defend her work. She stood there and took it, and even told us not to bother responding to them.” Penny’s gaze sharpened. “And when we asked her, she said that she was being the better person, like her teacher taught her.”
At that, Caline brightened, even sitting up straighter in her seat. “That’s wonderful! I’m glad she’s taking my lessons to heart.”
If looks could kill, Ms. Mendeleiv would be using Caline’s skeleton in her next biology class.
Both hands now down on the desk, Penny fumed. “Marinette - your student - was upset for the rest of the event, faking smiles and acting like it felt good to have her work be trampled on just because she didn’t talk back, like that made her better!“
“It does,” Caline retorted, like Penny wasn’t ready to strangle her. “It’s better not to cause a scene. I’m sure whoever treated her wrong will see her example and learn better.”
“Cause a scene?!” Penny echoed. “How about protecting her self-esteem? We were trying to cheer her up by talking about commissioning her for a new project, and suddenly she was hesitating, like she wasn’t sure she’d be good enough for it.”
Caline fiddled with some of her papers despite maintaining eye contact. “It...it can take time. I want positive treatment for all of my students—”
“Especially the ones who bully others?” Penny accused. “She told us about what you did when she gave you a present.”
Caline blinked, needing a moment to think about what she was referring to. “I was being supportive of both of them.”
“Support—” Penny stopped, placing a hand to her forehead and breathing deeply. When she’d calmed, she addressed Caline again. “You took your—” She hissed, changing her phrasing. “—our client’s work, that she did herself, that she worked hard on for you, and gave someone else credit for it after they vandalized her work.”
“I gave both of them credit,” Caline corrected, as if that made it any better. “Chloe is just looking for attention and support.”
“Chloe Bourgeois?” Penny asked, brow raised and mouth gaped. “You mean the rich girl who is known for being doted on by her father?”
“...Yes,” Caline admitted after a moment. Then, remembering something, added, “You supported her when she was trying to earn votes for class representative.”
“Because that’s what we were paid to do!” Penny said, throwing her hand out for emphasis. “And when she interfered in Jagged’s interview to get attention, Jagged shut her down the moment he realized what she was doing.” She pointed at her accusingly. “You were paid to be a teacher. You were paid to make your students behave. If it takes time, then how much time is it going to take? Because we’ve looked into your records and found out that Marinette has been bullied by that girl for years, and you were her teacher for multiple ones.”
The force of Penny’s voice forced Caline back, and she could only respond, “P...punishing Chloe won’t do anything. She needs someone to nurture her, and tell her that—”
“What?” Penny asked, then leaned forward and asked again, “What?”
Caline opened her mouth, but closed it, quieting as she realized how seriously this was being taken.
When it was clear that she wasn’t going to argue anymore, Penny continued, “We’re very familiar with how you punish students and what students you punish. It took all of my convincing as Jagged’s agent to stop him from charging in here, crocodile and all, to confront you himself, so let me make this very clear.”
Propping a leg up on the desk, she hunched over to get as close to Caline as possible, and Caline herself merely sank in her chair, eyes wide.
“If we hear you treating Marinette like this again, you won’t hear the end of it, and we won’t stop at filing a complaint. With Jagged, money is no object when it comes to the people he cares about, and we’ll use every connection we have to ruin you like you’ve ruined Marinette’s confidence. This isn’t a warning, it is a threat, and you’re lucky we’re not taking further action - yet - to protect our client.”
Then, getting off of the desk, Penny withdrew her identification and dusted herself off, needing a moment to adjust her leather jacket and make herself look presentable again. Turning away and marching towards the door, she grabbed hold of the door handle but stopped short of pulling it towards her.
Taking one, final glance at Caline, she said with a glare, “Have a nice day, Miss Bustier.”
Only when the door had shut behind her did Caline finally let out a breath, and it was a shaky one.

Started thinking too hard about your Wish me Away au after listening to the Pet Sematary song non stop, now i'm thinking, what If the "powers that be" took away her humanity and memory instead of her years? Like, instead of turning into a baby and finding a good family they make her the ultimate protector of the Miraculous, but she has no idea who she is or was and she's definitely not human or mortal anymore. I'm blaming It on the halloween vibes
It's funny you mention this because I have been playing with an idea similar to this based off the Wish Me Away AU. It starts the same way with the fight and Chat Noir betraying her. But instead of her becoming a child, she does become the Absolute Miraculi Guardian, something that never existed but could have achieved if they treated the kwami better.
So the wish happens and basically Them, the voices of the universe, a being that used to exist in the corporeal realm as two separate beings, but became fused together because of their love for one another, that ended up with them becoming one being together, explains the wish had already begun to take effect. They had already began to strip Marinette of her humanity, but the kwamis make their plea and when Them see the truth of Marinette’s and Adrien’s relationship they do all they can to save her, but in doing so she became something more than human.
The kwami and her have to figure out what all she can do but simultaneously try to not bring any attention to themselves. She bonds with the kwamis and they end up being able to bestow upon her their highest Blessings. I.e some control over their form of power.
She remembers being Marinette, but the name doesn't quite feel right anymore, so she goes by many names, names people who run into her give her until she finds the name that feels right. Paris remembers Ladybug but they don't remember Marinette, except for the class and her parents, and some others.
So instead of Goddess Tikki illusion in the interview, it's Mari in her new form, she talks about Marinette as a separate person, because that's truly what it feels like to her. She gets to give out the Blessings/Curses. The people she still trusts and cares about she tells them the truth of her being Marinette, of being Ladybug, and that she would always protect them of they needed her.
Luka is heartbroken, but when Marinette and him have a talk about everything she admits her feelings for him but she also tells him she's not human anymore. She's basically convinced their love could never be because she would outlive him.
