considering you and the two of them are only a year apart, you’re pretty close with one another. of course, the older you got, the more annoying they were, and there was this one era when they were like 9-12 that they made it their life mission to annoy you. but then they grew out of that phase eventually, and as they matured, they became more tolerable. 

they’re not only teenage boys, but also your older brothers. they’re going to be annoying. 

atsumu definitely does that sibling thing where he’s like eating a bowl of cereal or whatever and he enters your room, just stands there and chews really loudly, then walks back out without closing the door. it makes you want to kill him every time.

osamu probably just like tugs at your hair whenever he sees you because why not yk, especially if it’s in a ponytail or a braid. and this isn’t 9-12 year old osamu. this is like 15-17 year old osamu. he just grabs your braid and pulls. you might snap your neck one day honestly. 

atsumu eats your leftovers. all the time. like literally all the time how do u still have 2 brothers and not 1

osamu comes and sits in your room like on ur couch or bed cause you have better wifi or whatever. he farts and goes “sorry :D.” he is not sorry.

sometimes the both of them team up on you and it’s so exhausting. but if you manage to get your mom on your side? consider them obliterated. 

and yk what’s even more fun? when you and a twin team up on the other twin. it’s just always hilarious cause the other twin will act so betrayed vjshsdsk

anyways because you’re only one year apart, their friends are your friends and your friends are their friends. have you ever had to deal with a “best friend’s brother” type of thing where a friend of yours only wanted to come over because she heard that miya atsumu likes to walk around the house shirtless? yes. 

she ended up being extremely disappointed at the fact that miya atsumu has a lot more respect for those living in the same house as him and doesn’t walk around shirtless. ironic. 

but also atsumu does flirt with every single one of your friends.

you’d think atsumu would be more protective or selfish about you being close with him and samu’s friends? nope. 

it’s osamu

like, for example, every time he sees you walking alone with suna he wants to either deck suna or deck you. he can never decide on which one. 

he’s just very good at hiding things like that, and atsumu isn’t, so it always seems like atsumu gives more of a shit than osamu does. and honestly, osamu’s not even sure why it bothers him so much. he’s not mad that you’re friends with his friends, like, obviously he isn’t, because he’s happy to share, especially since you’re his sister. but at the same time, he can’t help but feel like he really can’t have anything for himself you know? sounds pathetic and selfish but he can’t help it. 

i think you bring it up at some point and ask him if he’s bothered by it, and it took a whileee before he admitted that yes, it kinda does. it made sense in your head though, only because he’s your brother, and obviously you’re not gonna stop being friends with them, but you understand. they were his first, in a sense. 

but!!! he’s not gonna lie, osamu loves the fact that he can trust his friends with you. like if anything were to ever happen to you, he knows his friends will react the same way he would, and that alone kinda reels him in. 

since you’ve known aran since you were really young, he’s kinda like a third older brother to you. he always acts like a mediator between you and your brothers (and is always on your side, even if you’re in the wrong. so what if his favoritism is showing?). you genuinely feel like you can turn to him for anything at any point if you can’t turn to your brothers first. 

but out of all their friends, you’re closest to suna and you can’t explain why. he’s just so nice to be around and if you’re left alone with him, it can’t ever be awkward, even if it’s completely silent and quiet. plus, suna’s probably covered for you a couple of times if we’re being honest :)

anyways! 

protective wise, they’re honestly a lot better than you’d think they’d be. like yeah they’ll give you hell if you even mention the fact that you might have a crush on someone, but in reality, they just want what’s best for you, and they want you to always be happy.

obviously, if the person of your choosing really doesn’t seem like they have your best interest in mind, your brothers will be extremely blunt about it. like i said, they want what’s best for you, and they’re not going to sugarcoat anything at all. 

good luck trying to get your opinion in on their love interests they’re suddenly incapable of hearing. hypocrites and double standards <//3

they will do the whole interrogation thing, but it’s mostly because they don’t wanna look like they’re softies. they want the person to fear for their life if they even consider hurting you. 

in regards to comfort; 

osamu is the best listener there is. genuinely. he just sits there and lets you talk his ear off. he won’t care if you spend hours doing it. if it helps you relax, and calm down, then he’s all for it. 

atsumu is who to go to when you’re sobbing and need to get your mind off of something. he’s great at distracting you, but healthily. he’s not very good at the talking thing, and he will listen if you need him to, but go to him when you don’t want to think about anything anymore, yk? 

btw!! both of them are secretly huge suckers for the drama in your life. if there’s some friendship drama, they want all the details. they’re giving you the best reactions and the most ridiculous advice, and are definitely heating you up more than they should be but, what else are you expecting?

as each other’s siblings, you’re insanely supportive of each other and your respective dreams. like when you found out osamu wanted to go into a completely different field than atsumu, you spent a thousand nights trying to convince him that what he was doing was right, and spent another thousand nights trying to convince atsumu that osamu choosing a different career path didn’t mean he was leaving him behind. 

whatever your own dream may be, they’re hella supportive. like suffocatingly so. if it’s something they’re well versed in, like volleyball or cooking, they’re helping you out in every way they can, every second they can. but if they’re unfamiliar with it, they’ll either pretend they’re the most knowledgable people about it and end up embarrassing themselves, or will just support you any other way they can (for example, buying or promoting your things, or proofreading, or helping you edit, etc). 

when the three of you are older and have lives of your own, you still take the time out of your day to catch up. sometimes other days are harder than others, because your lives are so different that there can be no time at all, but every time you see them through a screen or you meet up after hours in osamu’s restaurant, or you and osamu sit front row at one of atsumu’s games, it genuinely doesn’t feel like any time has passed. you’re so different but the exact same. 

they piss you off, insanely so, and you get on their nerves too. you’ve spat ugly words at each other, words you didn’t mean, and made each other cry, frustrated and angered one another, but at the end of the day, you’re siblings. at the end of the day, they’re the most important constants in your life. no matter what, they’re there.

Sorry my brain suddenly supplied me with an idea for a yan!childe darling who has history witth him but instead of being his childhood friend they’re the childhood friend of his older siblings. They used to come over to his house to hang out and they frequently entertained the young Ajax with stories of heroes and legendary battles and whatever he had been interested in at that time. They were always willing to lend an ear to his troubles and took good care of him, and he developed a puppy love that was so obvious his family laughed at how he’d run after you every time you came by to visit and how much he’d plead for you to stay a little longer and play with him. When he gets older he confesses but you turn him down cuz you can only see him as ur friend’s lil bro. Then his whole accident with the abyss and then joining the fatui and becoming a harbinger thing happens and ur left wondering when the little kid who used to follow u around like a puppy suddenly became the infamously battle hungry eleventh harbinger. Its hard to reconcile and u dont get involved with him much but now Childe’s kicking ur door down asking if you still only see him as a little brother after all his hard work?

He would be so bummed when you turn down his confession. Young Ajax worked up his courage and did his best not to stutter or blush too much and when he finally said it your answer wasn’t the one he was hoping to hear. While it makes sense that you only see him as the younger brother of his older siblings, considering you spend more time with them than you do with him, he thought his feelings would be reciprocated. Maybe he read too much into the way you’d smile and pick him up when he ran over to greet you. Maybe he misunderstood your acts of kindness and assumed you genuinely held the same type of love he has for you.

Now that he’s older and has matured a great deal, Childe understands that those feelings were simply fleeting. A puppy love meant to disappear over the course of time. But it doesn’t really end there. At least, not in the way one would assume. Childe has accomplished a lot now that he’s a powerful Harbinger and while most of these achievements aren’t all that good or safe you can’t ignore the obvious strength he now displays so eagerly. And it becomes so much easier for him to show you that he’s no longer just his siblings’ younger brother or the cute and happy boy who’d trail after you like a lost puppy. 

He’s changed; that much is obvious. But you’re not sure if the change is good or bad.

You can’t even begin to comprehend the line between blatant malice and obsessive love, both of which consume Childe’s thoughts and actions like a parasite. He knows he’s strong and can beat you in a fight within a few minutes, but it’s more fun to draw everything out. Unlike the shy boy who used to tug on your sleeve bashfully, the man before you does no such thing. His moral compass has skewed drastically in a way that’s difficult to grow accustomed to. One moment he’s practically hanging off of you, playfully teasing you with memories of the past, and the next he’s distantly cold and calculating, practically waiting for a moment to get you alone.

It always feels like you’re walking into a trap the longer you spend time with Childe, but now that you’ve given him your attention he isn’t going to let such an opportunity pass him by. You’ll learn that he’s more trouble now than he was when he was younger and it’s difficult to get away from him. After all, he knows you a little too well. From the gossip he overhears from his siblings to any personal details he can get ahold of through means of the Fatui’s influence, Childe is basking in a textbook of information. It’s practically impossible to get away from him now.

Surely he deserves your love after all that he’s gone through! And if he can’t have it, things might get messy. The change in him is horrifying and you almost wish he’d grown up into the soft, good-natured boy you once knew him as. Because soft, good-natured boys don’t kick doors down in the middle of the night to spook you into submission and they certainly don’t have a bloodthirsty gleam in their eyes whenever a fight brews. 

You can reflect on the past all you want; it does nothing to change the fact that this is who Childe is now. Hopefully you can get used to it. You’ll have to if you intend to return to your peaceful life—if such a thing even exists anymore.

Andromache is first to ask him out to dinner, a couple months after they met. As they start dating, Hektor doesn’t tell his family for a while, around a few months. Of course, they’re all incredibly important to Hektor, but having such a big family also means there’s a lot of people very interested in Hektor’s business. And particularly when his siblings are all younger, some by a lot, it can get really excessive.

He’s had a crush or two scrutinized by the family before, and though they meant well, it wasn’t great. He already gets anxious and overthinks that sort of thing plenty on his own- getting everyone else clamoring to give all their input sets him on edge. He wants the chance to feel things out for himself with Andromache and get more situated before putting the relationship out in the open.

Paris gets a little bit of early insight because the conversation from the fic clues him in. He’s still pretty sparse with the details, but Hektor tells him when he asks about what he’s up to. Paris watches him talk about her and he looks happy, even more so in the picture Hektor shows him of them together. Paris hasn’t met Andromache yet, but he thinks he’ll like her.

Andromache has quite a lot of brothers herself, but they know as things progress. Two of them work at the stables with the horses too, so they notice things develop. Andromache doesn’t really mind; for one, she’s less embarrassed by that sort of teasing as Hektor is, but also, most of her brothers are older than her and wouldn’t be immature or overly pushy with any teasing anyway.

Andromache likes Hektor’s honesty. As she gets to know him, she recognizes that he’s genuine and means what he says and doesn’t like to twist things around in misleading ways. He’s not one for lying. Andromache really doesn’t like having to second guess people’s intentions, it makes communication an anxious prospect for her instead of something productive.

She finds that, by and large, Hektor isn’t inclined to hide or disguise his feelings with someone he’s close to. He’s not so skittish with his own emotions or how they’ll be received that he won’t confront them, and make it an ordeal for Andromache to understand. He’s willing to talk to her openly, with big and little things, which helps her feel welcome to talk about her own thoughts too.

It proves an exception when Hektor is struggling, and fears falling short; he rarely voices what he’s going through then. It’s not perfect, but still, even that shows part of him that Andromache also loves. Hektor cares a lot. He puts his whole heart into things. Andromache finds she just doesn’t really enjoy being around or engaging with someone with a lot of apathy. Hektor grapples with pushing himself too far, but his dedication is something Andromache feels enlivened by too.

Hektor appreciates how grounded Andromache is. She’s forward and frank and doesn’t bother much with mincing words. Even as she starts to flirt with him more, Hektor never gets the sense that she’s reading into the situation more than she’s saying, or that she’s searching for more than what’s clearly there. Andromache takes things as they come and deals with them as they are, and her down to earth personality urges Hektor to unwind and reminds him that he doesn’t always need to stress.

He doesn’t feel the same pressures around her that he so often does. As the oldest brother of a lot of siblings, he feels a lot of responsibility alongside his love for them and a lot of pressure to meet their expectations. He also has a natural tendency to push himself very hard for the sake of something other than himself. As they start getting closer, he recognizes Andromache’s interest in him is part of the way she sees him, not a lens that she sees him through, which makes a big difference to him. It doesn’t give him the sense of something he has to live up to.

Andromache is very passionate and open with her interests. She has a very confident sense of herself and her likes and doesn’t let anything sway her. It assures Hektor that he doesn’t have to earn her affection. Her casual yet unabashed regard for him helps him frame their relationship less as a responsibility they have for each other, but an affectionate desire to care for each other.

Their personalities mesh exceptionally well and they sincerely feel very loving and happy when they’re together. Of course their relationship hits bumps, but they really do bring out the good in each other.

They date for a bit less than four years, living together for a year and a half, before getting engaged. Andromache ends up getting a pretty clear idea of when Hektor is planning to ask. He thinks a little about trying to keep it as much of a surprise as he can, but there are things he wants to talk about more first.

Specifically, they have a very long conversation about the potential of having a family together. Hektor absolutely wants to have kids in the future and wants to talk openly about that and about where Andromache stands on that as well. And beyond just how they both feel about having kids, they talk about how they feel about raising a kid with each other, how their relationship might fit with that. If they feel like they could make good parents together.

They spend a long, quiet night just talking about it all and it comes together feeling right and encouraging in the end. It’s pretty clearly the sort of conversation that precedes a proposal, but that’s alright. Andromache doesn’t mind knowing that it’s coming.

Hektor asks Paris to help him pick out a ring. Paris agrees, privately a bit hesitant and honestly a little disappointed. He knows that Hektor isn’t really one for jewelry, and Paris is, but it feels not great if he’s going to come in and pick out an engagement ring of all things.

So he’s extremely pleased to find Hektor has in fact spent a long while looking through tons of rings and has already narrowed it down to three. And from the way he talks, it becomes clear he’s devoted a lot of attention to the jewelry Andromache has and how much she wears it and anything she’s said about it in regards to picking out the ring. But he can’t decide between the three and wants a second opinion (which then Paris is more than happy to give).

Hektor proposes in their apartment. It was not the plan, but it’s what ends up happening. He’s still trying to iron out the best idea as he chooses the ring; he’s thinking along the lines of finding a nice night for a fancy dinner then going to a quiet, pretty park afterwards and asking then, since they both really love being outdoors. He just wants to get all the little details perfect.

But when he actually gets the ring, it’s constantly weighing in the back of his mind. Hektor wants to ask so damn bad. Four days after he gets it, they’re spending a casual night in together. They’re cuddling on the couch, they finished watching a movie a little while ago, and now they’re just chatting affectionately. Hektor says something inane that makes Andromache smile at him, wide and genuine and beautifully carefree and Hektor just goes, “Wait one second.” abruptly gets up and goes into the other room.

He gets the ring and kneels and asks her to marry him with Andromache still just sitting on the couch. Every part of his plan has fled his mind and there’s one distinct moment where he just kneels there with the ring box open and he doesn’t know what to say. So just off script, utterly from the heart, he says, “When you smile like that- Your happiness means the world to me. I want the chance to make you happy, I want you in my life always. Will you marry me?” (He almost forgets to actually ask.)

Repeating, “Yes yes yes,” she throws herself on him and kisses him all over everywhere she can reach. They’re both a complete enamored, giddy mess for a solid ten minutes at least. When Hektor manages to collect himself a little, he apologizes for not doing something more and tells her, “You smiled and I just couldn’t live another second without asking.” Really, he would have married her right then if he could.

It makes Andromache start crying. She always holds it close as one of the most touching, romantic things he’s ever said to her.

They’re so completely smitten and ecstatic, it’s ridiculous. They’re basically in the honeymoon phase before they even get married. They both never really realized how exciting the prospect of getting married would be to them until they actually get engaged and it hits them all at once. They didn’t feel any urgency to jump into it before, but suddenly it drives home that they plan to share their lives together and they’re just so very in love.

Hektor comments that first night that he can’t wait to call her his wife. Ever passionate Andromache declares the waiting makes no difference and then calls him her husband over and over and Hektor is so flustered and adoring of his wife(!!) So if they privately indulge in the endearments sometimes before they “should”, no one has to know.

There’s just something about it all that clicks so well with the way they feel devotion to each other and it means a great deal to them personally.

Andromache loves her ring so much and gets excited all over again whenever she sees it. But she quickly gets ticked off that Hektor doesn’t have one too. A couple weeks after he proposes, she pulls him to the jewelry store to get him one. He hadn’t spared it any thought before, but once he has it he loves it and it has him so excited and proud about everything.

Their families are both incredibly happy for them and congratulatory, honestly they’d been waiting for this for a while. They might roll their eyes at Hektor and Andromache being a pair of love birds occasionally, but their enthusiasm is infectious and their families encourage them plenty.

In conclusion, they are in love, your honor.

(Side note: I know this is a very western concept of engagement and marriage which might not be the most fitting for an au with the Trojans. But it's all I have an accurate frame of reference for and it's very fun to consider regardless :> )

okay so first, i love the fact that u had yn fund s*ras brothers uni grant. tbh i was a little surprised that gojo wanted to cancel it. i mean ik he can be quite vengeful when he’s angry ig and what s*ra did was completely unforgivable but i didn’t expect him to take it out on her brother as well. and lord knows i do not like s*ra at all (no matter what that bitch can rot in hell) but i do truly feel bad for her family and how they’re going to manage now that s*ra was fired from her job and her father spent all her savings which is another really unfortunate thing. tbh this is another thing that makes me dislike s*ra and not feel any sympathy for her. bc w all the bad things she’s done to yn she had to have known karma was going to come back to bite her in the ass. and then the fact that her mom was trying to comfort her through her breakdown even after she’s disrespected her and she still finds a way to lash out and be rude.like no matter how many times she lashes out on them they still find a way to comfort her and be kind. couldn’t be me tho i would’ve been thrown hands w her by now w how disrespectful she’s being😒 yeah i don’t feel bad for her at all but her siblings and mom deserve better than s*ra’s mistreatment and the dad’s irresponsibility 😔

second, despite what anyone says i will forever be team gen 100% 😤 i think the decisions she’s making is very realistic of what a caring, older sister would do. i think the ppl complaining are probably just only children who don’t know how older sisters would act in situations like this. part of the reason i like gen so much is bc she reminds me of my own older sister tbh. like if my sister thought i was in a toxic or concerning relationship she would do everything to ensure i was safe bc that’s what family should do. and before gen even found out ab the divorce it’s already been est that she is a headstrong woman and a protective sister. so if she didn’t do anything or show any concern for yn that would just not make sense and would not be consistent w her characterization🤨 it’s also been est that she is a good businesswoman so her being concerned ab the state of her family’s assets, specifically her sister’s, in case of a divorce is very consistent w her characterization as well. so in conclusion i am definitely a gen stan😌

Fingolfin? It’s certainly a possibility, but then we have to consider what’s going to happen without Finrod and Galadriel. (And his other sons, but they’re less impactful.)

Findis or Lalwen? Do they even exist in this AU?

Or Finarfin?

If it’s the last, then we also have to consider what the age gap between all these kids is in this AU and how their feelings about little baby Arafinwe are complicated by this.

We also have to consider how the political situation gets even trickier. 

Because Indis wasn’t just the Queen of the Noldor.

She was also a princess of the Vanyar.

Which means that while the Vanyar may not get a direct say in what goes down with a potential remarriage, they are definitely going to have an Opinion on it.

I feel like there is probably at least one frosty offer to foster the children that Finwe immediately turns down.

For the sake of argument, let’s say that Findis is on the cusp of adulthood. She is politely present at the marriage ceremony and stays a very precise, very respectable length of time afterward before going to visit her relatives indefinitely.

Nolofinwe, as the crown prince, stays. He has a lot of feelings about the collapse of his once happy feeling, but he’s well into his adolescence and used to hiding things at court. He mostly reacts by emotionally shutting down and very politely refusing to talk to his father about it. He daydreams about storming the gates of Mandos and demanding his mother back.

Lalwen is just on the verge of adolescence and would prefer to spend as much time in the trees in the gardens as possible. She is torn between wanting to play with her baby brother and wanting to avoid him.

Arafinwe is old enough that he is aware that Miriel is not his mother but young enough that most of what’s going on is flying over his head. He warms up to Miriel almost immediately and then spends a few weeks avoiding her out of a vague idea that if he’s around her too much, she’ll die.

That eventually gets more or less cleared up.

So then Miriel has Feanaro! And Miriel - what?

Is fine?

Dies? (Finwe is pretty sure he’s cursed. Arafinwe figures baby Feanaro is like him and they should stick together. The gossips are going wild.)

Survives but is unwell?

Let’s go with that one.

So the thing is, Feanaro is not Feanaro if he does not have something to throw himself against. In canon, it’s his determination to not be replaced in his father’s affections. Here, it’s his determination that he be considered worth it. Worth all the gossip about marred marriages and what comes of them; worth all the trouble with the Vanyar; worth the fractures between his half-siblings and his father; worth his mother’s illness and pain.

What he has going for him, though, is that his mother is still alive and supporting him. He still loves language and still has Opinions on the language shift, but he’s not as ride-or-die about it as in canon; his mother is still alive, queen, and perfectly capable of insisting on whatever pronunciation of her name that she likes, even weakened.

The thing about his relationship with his siblings is that in this AU, they get to set the tone. They’re the ones establishing that tone when he’s still too young to have an opinion on it.

He has almost no relationship with Findis. She sends very polite notes and very respectable gifts on all appropriate occasions; his mother reciprocates on his behalf until he’s old enough to do it, at which point the gifts get a little half-hearted or pointed, depending on the year.

Nolofinwe is . . . fine, but distant. Feanaro doesn’t understand him at all and doesn’t really care to try.

Nolofinwe is also established as the crown prince, and it doesn’t occur to Feanaro to try to take it from him. Politics are boring, court is infuriating, and his projects are much more interesting. Sure, Feanaro is convinced he’s the smartest person in the room, and he wants to be listened to, but in his father’s court, he mostly is already. He’ll poke at Nolo, sometimes, but he has no interest in trying to usurp him. Of course, if something ever does happen to Atar and Nolo does become king, then the distance between “not willing to fight you for the throne” and “actually willing to treat you as an authority figure I should obey” is going to become apparent very quickly. 

As long as Nolo doesn’t tell him to do anything he wasn’t going to do anyway, they’ll be just fine.

Lalwen is fun, but, due to the age gap, is more of an impromptu babysitter than a playmate. As they get older, they’re genuinely affectionate, but it’s complicated by the family mess and made more so by the political one; Lalwen always takes Nolo’s side, and Feanaro has no patience for it.

Arafinwe . . . Arafinwe is a different story.

Arafinwe is a lonely little kid who latches onto his new little half-brother and takes him everywhere and shows him everything in the early days when everyone is still really unsure whether or not Miriel is actually going to die. This closeness remains even after those concerns mostly pass.

What happens from there is . . . I have no idea. Probably not worse of a disaster, but maybe not notably better either.

6. Did they grow up with siblings? What were those relationships like?

yes!! in the convo with nemesis voski mentions that they were the last of five. she has four older brothers with an eight year difference between the next youngest and her (ages when voski was born: 16, 13, 11, 8). age adds to an already extreme difference in life experience with voski as the only sibling born in ehas and marked as a sorcerer here. it's not that they didn't care for them, they definitely did/do, but especially for the two oldest, they were already adults as humans when voski started being able to communicate. not so much a bad relationship, just not much of one. as for the younger two, it was very much clear that voski was the baby, and while she has a different appreciation for their protectiveness, she often went out of her way as a kid to be disruptive and try to do things themself. it was a dynamic that made them feel like they had a lot to prove even if it was positive, and she still has a lot of love for them.

25. What is their comfort item/habit?

voski 100% has some scrap fabric from a baby blanket/beloved childhood quilt. it is so worn and basically disintigrating, but they will keep it in their bag and reach for it before bed until it is nothing but a few loose threads in a heap.

at heart in a perfect world loveless' peace is very likely sitting on a back porch laughing with people who he cares about, but for now as oyoia is he sneaks bits of it in playing music, making up stories, and talking to people who want to listen along the way in the life of a mercenary. there's nothing like a folk song mingling oyoian history with myth and magic (the kind that may or may not have already been present) -- they also love listening as much as they love talking, giving people a place to impart pieces of themselves that he will gladly carry with him.

● was convinced her father was having an affair with a news anchor, so ruby convinced producers, news channels, and everyone in the business to blacklist them from ever working and essentially ruining and ending the new anchor’s career. unknown to ruby, though, is that the news anchor was never having an affair with her father and it was actually colette who was having an affair with her father at the time.  background: her relationship with her dad has always been rocky, but the minute she found out he was having an affair and cheating on her mom made ruby go batshit. she wasn’t sure who the person was exactly except for that her father was having an affair because she was overhearing flirty & secretive phone calls and was seeing bills for expensive gifts that her mother was never receiving. when ruby saw her dad meeting with a news anchor frequently, ruby automatically assumed that was the person her father was having an affair with and essentially ruined that new anchor’s career. the new anchor’s career ended very abruptly and ruby loved seeing it. she loved her mom and she wasn’t going to let anyone hurt her- not her father and not the news anchor. unknown to ruby, though, is that the news anchor was never having an affair with her father and it truly was just business. ruby framed the wrong person and ruined an innocent person’s career for no reason.

family/upbringing/childhood

ruby’s family consisted of her father (randolph im), her mother (marissa im, nee byun), and her three younger siblings (edeline, brietta, and dominick)

her father, randolph im, is a top politician and was formerly a senator before being removed from officer and losing to his component- senator ahn. instead of being a senator, he’s apart of the house of representatives. other than being a politician, randolph also runs a loan business that’s not  known unless you’re also apart of the top 1-10%. since they have so much money, he doesn’t mind giving out loans to those in need, but he always expects something in return (like a vote or an endorsement) and he always expects being paid back in time with interest included. if he doesn’t get his money paid back in time, then he’s a loan shark who sends his henchmen to do all the dirty work for him.

her mother, marissa im, is a house wife who happily takes care of her kids. 

the family is as tight knit as it can be. it’s not hard for them to act loving and family-like infront of the media because that’s how they are everyday. they have their tense moments like every other family does, but they’re healthy for the most part. 

healthy until it involves ruby and her father. these two are constantly butting heads and always arguing over something. maybe it’s because she’s the eldest daughter or maybe it’s because she doesn’t support her father’s shady loan business. she just doesn’t like him and the only time you’ll catching her supporting her father’s political career is when it’s family involved and her presence is required. other than that, ruby is typically absent from whatever political campaign her father does. 

ever since ruby was a toddler, she loved the spotlight and performing. she loved acting and she loved when the cameras were on her whether it be for performing something or posing for something. since her mother noticed this, she was quick to put ruby in auditions for acting and modeling and since ruby was a natural, her acting and modeling career began at a very young age. she acted in children’s shows, movies as the younger version of a character and modeled for campaigns and spreads for brands like guess kids. 

due to her career being a success at such a young age, ruby never experienced “real school” and was homeschooled her entire life. when she was on set for tv shows where she had to act in a school setting was basically her only experience as a student in a “real school”. 

although her siblings would grow up differently (attending private schools instead of homeschool), ruby never minded this and never felt like she missed out on anything because she still learned how to socialize and got to act out wtvr she was possibly missing out on

career/college/the elites

luckily, as ruby got older and went from being a child to a pre/teen, her career didn’t stop and just kept growing. she filmed some tv shows and mostly focused on movies. when she turned 16/17, that was when her modeling career began to become more prominent because she was “old enough”, looked old enough, and was taller. she was having fun, living life, and traveling the world. 

since she was a politician’s daughter, she was getting tutored on information about law and politics by the time she was 13. she had interest in law especially so she could spite her dad by telling him what he was possibly doing wrong, but also so she could negotiate her own contracts and understand what’s being said during the meetings. as a minor, she can’t sign contracts without a guardian but she sat there at the meetings feeling lost and wanted to know what they were saying. 

although she loved spotlight when she was younger, by the time she was twenty she was starting to get over the fame. her career was successful, but she was starting to see and feel all the negatives that came with fame (especially in the modeling world where they criticized her looks often) and simply wanted out

when she turned 21, as a gift to herself she decided to take a break from her career/the spotlight so she could attend school and actually get a degree in law so she truly could negotiate her own contracts and understand all the legal terms being used during those meetings. she applied to yale and luckily she got accepted (mostly due to her career and philanthropy and because of yale being her father’s alma mater). 

her father was a member of the yale elites, which makes ruby a legacy so that made her entrance into the organization very easy. 

she still does modeling when she has the time, but her acting career is on hiatus until she finishes her bs in law. 

don’t really know where to put this, but her stage name is odette im (her middle name) and only those that actually know her like friends & family call her ruby. she prefers to be called ruby because it’s her actual name, but professionally and in the tabloids she’s known as odette. she will still respond if you call her odette in a non-professional setting and honestly if ur muse met her while she was working then they probs know her as odette

but i guess something that always works for me is putting on music i KNOW will make me sing a long or make me happy to distract me from the nerves i’m feeling. also putting on my favorite comfort movies to make me feel better (they’re big fish, scott pilgrim vs the world, and spirited away btw lol)

the ending of coco, seeing my mom cry, or anyone i love cry tbh, when children are neglected/abused, thinking about the world i’ll have to bring my future children into and how i’m going to be able to teach them to stay strong and bright in the face of it, lyrics that hit too close to home, absolutely anything tbh i cry easy

sight - the view of my cherry blossom tree against a pink sunset in the spring of my childhood home, a person’s eyes and how they light up when they smile, especially when they crinkle as they laugh

What is one scene from a book that makes you really sad?

unfortunately i haven’t read as many books lately as i did when i was younger...so a lot of my memories are from books that i read like as a kid lol......THAT BEING SAID i think rue and finnick’s death in the hunger games was truly heartbreaking to read, the spine of my copies of both books have cracks on those pages bc i had to read it several times just to really believe it. also i thought it was written so heart wrenchingly well that i had to go back.  also in looking for alaska when pudge, a man who loved to know people’s last words, realized that he would never know alaska’s last words. im also really thankful for that book bc it introduced me to wh auden’s poetry and to this day he’s still one of my favorite poets of all time.

hello everyone i’m blue (or another color if it makes it less confusing kjsdjfkks)! i’m super excited to introduce you guys to audrey, big heart in a smol body! but yes okay i have her backstory n personality n wanted connections under the cut so pls hmu on here or discord to plot bc im literally so hyped!!

— audrey tuyen phan  is finishing up her last year at ventura with hopes of graduating and attending university of california, los angeles to study biology. four years in and she’s known as the syrupy, which makes perfect sense considering how amicable, fervent, sensitive, and obdurate she is. that title landed her the senior class superlative of most likely to come back to the school and teach. when you hear coloring outside the lines - misterwives coming from a car this summer, it’ll most likely be them. speaking of summer, once school ends i hear her plans are to get out of her comfort zone. i can’t help but to be reminded of a sunset glistening over the ocean, splatters of oil paint on old clothes, flower petals pressed between the pages of a book, and a heart shaped locket filled with memories.

okay so! backstory time!

audrey grew up in ventura! she has a younger sister (sophie) and grew up with her mom and her dad around for the most part. was introduced to art as a kid and had an ok childhood! her dad's a graphic designer and would draw with her or sing lullabies to her when she was young n her mom was an up-and-coming, trying to make it big actress! 

her parents got divorced in the middle of 6th grade and it kinda broke audrey’s heart? because she really believed in her parents’ meet-cute story of like “love at first sight” and all that! but nope her mom was hooking up with a co-star behind her dad’s back and then up and left the family without much care for any of them and it hit Really Hard

her dad didn’t remarry and  bc of legal reasons she had to visit her mom (who pretended to care for audrey n sophie... but really didnt) every other weekend and audrey was just not about that and it kinda made her become super shy

her dad started to become super busy (and also was beginning to drink a lot more heavily... but audrey pretended not to notice) and so her grandmother would tend to care for her and her sister and it was great for a time! her grandma was the Best and would bake w them and bring them out to the park to play and sit her up on the counter and wag her finger on what to do and what not to do and like audrey’s heart, even tho it was a lil doubtful of love in those moments, she was taught to be v kind and loving to everyone she met

her grandma was diagnosed w leukemia and eventually passed away and at that point audrey was v v sad bc she was v close with her grandma but her grandma’s last words to her were about staying true to herself and to always have love in her heart so to this day she tries to live up to those words and like !! its what really drives her to be empathetic

her dad reached his lowest point w alcoholism and would occasionally lash out verbally at his children but never violently, and at some point audrey stuck up the courage to get him into AA during her freshman year and so now she tries to make sure her dad’s sober and is afraid to leave for college bc she doesn’t want him to relapse (so thats why she’s going to ucla bc it’s not terribly far)

currently her sister’s a freshman and going to be a sophomore and audrey’s constantly looking out for her lil sister bc she can see that she’s fallin into the wrong crowd so rip but audrey’s that Annoying Older Sibling who keeps trying to protect her sister even tho u just gotta let them experience life

she’s going to ucla to study biology and hopefully become a doctor / nurse bc she wants to help other ppl really badly! at school she’s definitely a local volunteer for almost everything, possibly a cheerleader? she got Pep, probably works at a local library bc she a big Softie for books!, and probably the head of like an art club or smth skdkskkjds

OKAY ONTO HER PERSONALITY BC THIS IS LONG ENOUGH

she’s a giant hopeless romantic and falls in love really easily and normally for the wrong people. like in short, v idealistic and v much a dreamer, always optimistic about the future!!! believes in everyone and gives second chances and v much nonconfrontational

went to harvard law school and worked for a fairly large law firm in nyc for a while. there he met his future wife and fell in love with her instantaneously.

his father was regularly unemployed and so with his mom being the sole breadwinner in the family, money was always tight with the romero family.

juggling school, a full time job, and taking care of his siblings was extremely hard. there was a point where alaric even considered dropping out of high school.

you end up staying up late anyway. jeremy might be an asshole now, but he’s still you’re brother. you might as well stay up and make sure he at least makes it inside.

you take your dad’s side for once, and jeremy fucking yells at you about it.

“you were supposed to support me, i’m your brother! we’re family-”

“not anymore, jeremy - you’re not my brother because my brother wouldn’t treat his friends and family like shit!”

he gets pissed at you and your dad tries to defend you and then he says shit to your dad

you straight up punch jeremy for that shit. you hit harder than he’d think.

after the play you basically live at the hospital waiting for jeremy to wake up

the moment he wakes up your at his side like “is it gone?? please tell me it’s gone, jeremy, fuck, please tell me i have my brother back.”

(you kinda freeze because you forgot rich was there???)

he… kinda sees how much he hurt you for the first time. it’s a really shitty moment. michael pops in and you just kinda excuse yourself for a few minutes and wander away for a few minutes

there’s still a lot of strain on ur relationship??? like, you aren’t just happy siblings anymore who fight over little shit and scream at the other when they cheat at video games or complain about homework and teachers. 

he and christine eventually date a little??? you’re happy for him but at the same time it just kinda… bothers you. sometimes he gushes about her and how she’s so sweet but it just kinda makes you sick because of all the shit that everyone just went through…

heck, jeremy notices that you’re… really, really off. he misses being able to sit back and laugh with his little sibling??? he misses being able to just be a complete dork around you.

one day you’re having a really shitty day and you’re sitting at the kitchen table burying yourself in homework and you just hear the rustling of a wrapper and he sets down ur fave candy in front of you

“look, i know i was an asshole and the worst big brother, but just… i’m sorry.”

it’s not enough, but it’s a start.

one night you wake up from a nightmare that everyone??? was squipped again??? you go downstairs and there’s jeremy, standing in front of the fridge, just staring

you wander over and peek in and he’s just… staring at a bottle of mtn dew red. at least, he was until you stepped behind him. he quickly shuts the fridge and immediately asks why you’re awake because??? it’s 3 am????

for the first time in a while you two confide in each other. 

“i… really did a lot of shit, didn’t i?” “yeah. i mean, it’s not all your fault - rich said the SQUIP made him do a lot of shit too.” “yeah but still, i did it-”

it takes a while but eventually you two get to be back to the sibling bond you two had - even if there is a little bit of strain

alright that’s a lot of shit of just reliving the musical so i’ll throw in some headcanons rly quick:

Hiya folks!<3 so here’s a bio on Kriztian down under the “read more” and y’knw the drill, u can either hmu or like this intro post if you wanna plot connections or anything with him! <33 (pls do as i would love lots of connections for him as well!:)) )

ok so he’s from the old Gotha royal family in germany as u can digest from his url, and he’s the oldest sibling i think (for now ).  Despite him being older than Victoria (the current queen) he never ever wanted the throne/ become king and his stubborn refusal to become the heir for the throne was very strong when he was young due to his younger personality who didnt want the vry heavy and very difficult responsiblities of a king.

ok so back when he was younger, before he turned 500 XD, he was actually a very care-free, v happy, very playful,  vry  active, a bit of fun-loving,  full of life, and def couldn't care less about his royal duties/responsibilities kind of guy.  He loved to gallivant about hvaing fun and seeking adventures and often would shirk his royal duties/responsibilities, and never took his royal lessons seriously except for the lessons/subjects he was interested in. He was also at that time, very flirtatious, pretty romantic and a very charming playboy. He also didnt really care much about his attire at that time, preferring simple and easy to wear clothing instead of elegant and finely -made garments and stuff.  He was very skilled at sports hence  he naturally took to his fighting as a vampire lessons very well and easily, thus paving the way to become one of the most top skilled vampire fighters around. (but all he’s fighting is mostly to defend himself or people as he hates the thought of murdering people for fun) And so, bcos he wanted to get out of ever inheriting the throne and instead would rather his next sibling have it, he rebelled against his heir duties a few times, tried his dammnest to prove he  wasn't worthy of the crown to his parents and openly refused his parents to become heir to the throne whenever they tried to talk or convince him. So his exasperated parents eventually gave up and let Victoria, their 2nd child be the crown princess instead, to which Kriztian happily & quickly stepped down as heir when they finally made that decision.

When he was 500 yrs old, he met a  human girl and soon fell deeply and madly in love with her. They got married and he was blissfully happy with his wife and it was actually her who got him to change his ways and become a more serious, matured, and responsible person thus he began to take his royal duties properly and seriously since then. He settled down and eventually became less of an adventure& thrill-seeker, content with his current life. And when his wife eventually became pregnant, he was beyond ecstatic and both of them became very excited and so eager to meet their child.

However his whole world came crashing down when his wife became deathly ill due to a fatal disease during the last trimester of her pregnancy and desperate Kriztian searched the whole country for a way to cure her, any way, even magical ways.

he finally met a witch who claimed she could magically save his wife and baby from death if he paid her an extravagant sum of gold in return. HIghly desperate and not thinking clearly, he agreed and paid her instantly and she chanted some sort of spell and did some magical ritual. however, was actually very sadly conned by a selfish and greedy witch, as poor Kriztian then watched the whole terrible process of his beloved human wife dying because of the disease and also due to a very difficult childbirth process. His baby also eventually came out as a stillborn.

  Kriztian then almost grew mad with grief and was completely wrecked, suffering hard in the aftermath of their deaths. He made a complete wreckage of their large home , destroying almost everything in the house , and firing all his staff. he isolated himself in the house, refused to come out for weeks on end, and only a few of his closest family members were permitted to enter to see him. he then even tried to starve himself whenever his family tried to send bags of blood for him to eat in hopes that he could wile away to death to join his late wife and child. It wasn;t till one day, one of his siblings found him in the early process of standing at the wide open sunny windows of his hallway with his daylight ring thrown away, trying to burn himself to death. Thankfully due to his age and strength of his powers he would take about 25-30 mins to eventually be fully incinerated and die , so his sibling was only about 10 mins into kriztian’s suicide  process and managed to save that stupid fool.

Enough was enough. His whole family grouped together on him with his closest friends and determinedly had an intervention with him. After days of endless ways to get thru to him, they finally made a breakthrough, knock some sense into him and made him see the light a little bit, thanks to (1 or 2 siblings and his best friend) he was then strongly told & encourages to   travel far away to help get over his grief and hopefully his late wife. He then did so and travelled far and wide around the world for about a 150 years or so. And slowly he did manage to overcome his grief and heal from the loss but he could never let go for his  love of his late wife so till this day his still holding back a small piece of her in his heart, thus blocking him frm ever wanting to pursue any romantic relationships at all till now. To him, she was his only one and true love for his whole lifetime (tho im hoping that his eventual new bride will eventually change all of that XD)

It was thru his travels that he accumulated more years of combative experience that further  helped shaped him to one of the strongest, extremely quick-thinking and highly skilled fighter vampires around. And like i said earlier, he never killed or seriously wounded any being for pleasure. He only fought or killed when it was absolutely necessary, in which most cases were situations where he had to defend himself or protect others, or save humans or even to help his few closest friends defend their home.

he also met another witch who used him to get her revenge on his family for some accidental wrong they did to a relative of hers in the past. She’s the one who caused the many fading scars on his body u can see now. Thus, it was due to his 2 very bad experiences with witches, which stemmed his current distrust and dislike for most of their kind.

He finally returned home about 100 plus years ago and came back wiser and less troubled. he then resumed his princely duties very seriously in honor of his late wife who he knew would have wanted him to live his life responsibly. And his current great attention to being elegantly and finely dressed as well as being super neat and organized is also of her influence somewhat when she was living XD

Thus his current personality now is of he’s very responsible, serious for most of the time, distant & aloof with many people except for a few trusted longtime friends and his family ofc (due to him having a few experiences of his trust being broken during his travels  and a lil disillusioned of there being many actually honest pure beings  left). He’s  a man of a few words half the time, and when he does converse, he tries to get quickly and clearly to the point most of the time unless ur talking about something he’s interested in or like in my starter he’s irritated abt the current situation and annoyed about his precious suit getting damaged XD. he’s also pretty stoic and doesn’t really like showing much expressions or feelings. The only times you can catch him giving warm, genuine smiles & have great convos with is when he’s with family members or very close friends or with his beloved citizens and when his around kids (as they’re his weakest & softest spot currently)

he can a be a teensy bit  selfish at certain/particular times and he will only help people in distress if they genuinely need help and can’t solve the problem at all or if they’re 100 not capable of saving themselves, he cares for humans as he sees them as being quite the weaker beings in comparison to the supernaturals so those are the ones he would instantly and readily save if they r in danger. Other supernaturals it depends on various few factos hehe XD However, he’s loyal, v protective over he people he cares about, quite good-hearted and has pretty smart and quite cultured brains. and as mentioned, earlier he’s somewhat well-mannered, very neat and organized. He also can be a bit grumpy and moody sometimes.

he was initially very reluctant and refused to go thru the arranged marriage plan. However, he eventually relented for the sake of peace and political alliance. He’s still not really looking forward to it tho tho he has finally readied himself to treat his fiancee with respect and be cordial towards her and try to get along with her cos he has no time for conflicts. Oh and also protect her from harm as he currently sees her as vulnerable being. he was actually relieved to find out that he was being matched with a human cos witches (big no-no), vampires and hybrids(they would live forever and he would be stuck in this “marriage” for his whole long lifetime) and werewolves ok but he found that female werewolves which he encountered in the past, tend to get possessive due to their carnal  wolf side and he had no intention of being with a werewolf wife when they were in heat XD. That’s cos he secretly has  NO INTENTION AT ALL OF BEDDING HIS WIFE PERIOD. he doesn’t want to risk the chance of getting her pregnant as he is still afraid of her potentially dying at a gruesome childbirth. So his plans for his marriage is for them to be if possible, distant, agreeable partners as he isn’t planning on opening his heart & falling in love ever again  or to get too attached by becoming vry caring and super best friends, they can be friends if she wishes but only to a certain degree. So he’s planning on keeping her at arm’s length till she dies of old age or unfortunate sickness.  (BUT OFC WICKED OLD ME, HAS LOTSA PLANS FOR HIS CHARA DEVELOPMENT, SO MOST OF HIS NEGATIVE VIEWS, TRAITS AND PLANS WILL HOPEFULLY CHANGE DOWN THE ROAD, hehe)
