Picture this: Eddie and Steve trudging through the Upside Down, walking quite a few paces behind the girls. Eddie circling back around to the subject of music in a nervous attempt to keep things light-hearted because they’re walking through almost-literal-Hell right now and this isn’t doing much good to soothe his anxiety. With every word Steve says- from his confused questioning of heavy rock artists to his confirmation of loving Toto -Eddie looks a little more horrified.

“You’ve gotta listen to people with some stage presence-”

“Who cares about stage presence over the radio?”

“It’s a whole different angry loud beast! Has no one tried to show you the ways of the performance artist?”

Steve’s eyes get distant at that, thinking of another mullet-headed man. Eddie doesn’t quite notice.

“You can even call it glam-rock if you want! I’m sure you like that, Mr. The Hair. It’s all about the theater. Like... Alice Cooper!”

“What… she hot?” Steve asks, suddenly snapping back into it.

“It’s a dude. And he rocks. He sings this song called I Love the Dead and on stage he gets his head chopped off and then the executioner picks up the severed head and makes out-”

“Ew, god that’s gross dude, don’t talk about that-”

“It’s sick and twisted and awesome. It’s all- hold on hold on.”

Eddie gets his hands in position then, posing over a non-existent guitar around his chest as he pretends to play it, more so wailing than singing the words in time with his fake accompaniment.

“I love the dead~”

Steve makes a grossed out face at that.

“I love the dead~”

And in the background, the real guitar starts to fade into the soundtrack, vocals sparking up behind Eddie’s acapella performance.

“I love the dead~” Eddie sings again, getting closer to Steve- to sing it into his ear this time- while Steve shoves at him and tells him to knock it off. That’s when they bump into the girls ahead of them, Steve cussing quietly and asking them what they think they’re doing.

The song is building steadily behind them, a guitar riff wailing as the two boys shift their focus to where the two girls are gawking. Their jaws drop, Eddie being the first to speak:

“Isn’t that?”

“It can’t be-” Nancy whispers.

“Holy shit.” Robin croaks.

And Steve takes a few steps forward, pushing past the girls to stare with wide, shocked eyes at: “Billy?”

And then there stands Billy, backlit for a quick second by a shock of lightning, looking a little worse for wear with his blood-stained shirt, face hardened and hand wrapped tightly around a gnarly looking crowbar, the song in the background now loudly singing I love the dead as he stares the rest of the teens down.... before he cracks an amused but snarling sort of grin.

“Miss me?”

HOW does that scream "communism"? How does a show that repeatedly said "Drifting away from spirituality had horrible consequences for the world as a whole" fit with communism? Just because they also said "everything is connected to everything else" while STILL showing some level of hierarchy as positive, hence one of the good guys being a monarch and the others having zero issue with it? 4 - Bryke also created The Legend Of Korra, and "republic city", the symbol of all the progress the world has supposedly made, is literally just a New York city knock off. These guys literally picked the face of capitalism as a symbol of the main message of the show - they're not your comrades.

If MC was mortally wounded and there was no help coming then all the ROs are crying except Soarine and Vincent because they have been condiotioned to keep it together under dire circumstances. I'm going to assume MC is dying, there's 0 help coming and it's just the two of them.

Fadiya would do her best to try and heal MC and if they said that she'd start crying harder and tell them to shut up and stop talking. Her hands shake as she does her best to heal MC, no matter how powerful she is she can't bring back the dead. The fear she's too late haunts her as she watches the color drain from MC.

Helios has a sore throat from how much he has screamed out for help. He doesn't know who he's asking for help since there's no one around but he keeps cradling MC in his arms and pleading. He repeats "no" like a prayer as MC speaks out the words, he refuses to believe this is how he loses them.

Hunter tries their best to not cry but there are tears streaming down their face. They tell MC to stop saying things like that and makes a few jokes to make MC smile and not focus on the pain. The fear in their eyes is clear but there's a small smile they put on for show as they tell them random things to keep MC awake.

Soarine is the one that gets angry at MC for saying such things. She tells them to stop it and how dare they think they could leave her. There are tears in her eyes and her voice cracks as she keeps berating MC but the arms that hold MC are gentle and she says after MC is healed she will spar with them without holding back.

Vincent has always been told to not show fear in front of others because when he becomes the leader of the imperial army he will have to make sure the soldiers don't lose morale because of him. He appears calm in front of MC but he's so afraid. He tells MC to stop being silly and assures them help will arrive at any moment so they should focus on staying awake. As time passes by, his mask beings to crack and the way he clings to MC is a sign even he doesn't believe help will come in time.

ok, this AU was the hardest to develop since the ideas are half formed and it raises a lot of questions for the verse that the answers are too complicated for me to answer. but i can escape that by NOT writing a fic (which i tried to do and failed horribly).

in my heart of hearts this verse is very hilarious and sexy. so have some ramblings about it instead:

angels and demons have 4 letter names: vita, beka, yura, yuri, mila, jaak, chit, etc… akov is god and ilia is the devil (< i guess, idk, whatever, not important). i think yuri (katsuki) is a demon (gluttony, lust), but that is also not entirely important.

yura and beka meet each other on the shoulders of a nervous and spineless human. they have been sent (punished?) (exiled?) to the mortal realm to act as the human's conscience. yura dwells on the right shoulder and beka on the left.

the human's spinelessness drives yura into rage. he screams into the human's ear trying to influence him to just go punching assholes and jerks that the human lets walk all over him. yura is literally the embodiment of the meme "aren't you tired of being nice a loser? don't you just wanna go apeshit?" when the human only cowers in response yura punches and kicks his neck, which only makes the human scratch his neck (a nervous tic), this makes yura all the more enraged.

beka on the other hand shoulder (haha) whispers and murmurs things into the human's ear that make him more spineless like: it's scary out there, we should stay in, oh, this guy is big we should let him cut in line ahead of us, its okay to get interrupted it wasn't important anyway… etc

idk something to that effect.

they are both so useless to the human being that the human lives out a pathetic life. they spend more time having sexy makeouts on the human's back than doing anything of use.

on yura's malevolence; he has a strong sense of justice and what's right but his problem is his means of achieving them, they are unholy and extremely problematic lmao. beka's benevolence is unbecoming of a demon. he still has the values of what make him demonic but his means are calm and without calamity. chaotic good vs lawful evil typa shit idk

vita is yura's overseer and whenever he has a message to send to yura, a golden halo appears in the air and a soft holy choir sings as clouds part to reveal vita who is glowing all dream-like. (this is super hilarious in my head, the choir is like a soundtrack and can abruptly stop (like a record scratch) if some incredulous shit gets to vita or whatever. it's very over the top and obnoxious)

i imagine the choir is like the first and last thing you hear when interacting with vita. like you'd be chilling on a cloud minding your own business and in the distance the dulcet tones of the choir signals the arrival of vita, and then fades away with him when he leaves lmfao. vita is also especially glowy for an angel, he glows more than most, giving him a very ethereal and dreamlike quality (the extra power he allots to that is worth it and second nature to him at this point)

jaak is beka's overseer and he makes it a point to regularly interrupt the sexy makeouts. when jaak calls, a dark red almost black flame flickers to life and forms a ring of smoke, as he appears in it he always has cluster of succubi hanging off of him who all look exactly alike (isabella) who softly moan, murmur and whisper "king jj" at him in the background

(kind of like in horror media when you hear whispers in the background, but it's constant and less scary sounding and more blush inducing. the anti vita choir lmao)

whenever jaak comes around, yura mimes gagging and puking and covers his ears because, funny enough, worse still than the constant moans of "king jj" is jaak's voice itself.

I'm actually so tired of Aemond Antis (and just mindless black obsessors in general) acting as if there wasn't any justification in Aemond killing Luce, or even just taking his eye at Storms End like he wanted to.

When Luce gouged Aemonds eye out, Jace knew what was gonna happen. He may not have known it would be his eye, but he saw Luce crawl to the knife and his reaction was not to be like "Put it down Luce" or any form of common fucking sense at all. He literally threw sand in his face so Luce could stab him, or whatever fucked up shit Jace wanted to do.

Jace pulled a knife on Aemond because Aemond called him a bastard (Which he is), NOT because of the rock. The rock at been lowered and Luce had been put down by the time Jace unsheathed the knife. Even Rhaena yelled "Jace!" Because she knew that was wrong. Aemond was never going to hit anyone with the rock anyway, he made threats about burning them alive. Rocks don't just randomly burst into flames yall.

When Aemond lifts the rock again, it's clearly taunting. Also, he had every right to grab the rock. He was being 4v1d. And he even tried to avoid it, he only pushed Rhaena away when she lunged at him. Then Baela punched him. Do yall expect him to just sit there and take it? Being beat by four people?

And even after, Luce showed absolutley no remorse for permanently mutilating Aemond. Even after it was said that the eye was lost. He's a little privileged shit and I don't blame Aemond for hating him.

At the feast, Luce at his grown fucking age, decides to laugh at Aemond. Still not showing any goddamn remorse. He laughed in his face, clear as goddamn day.

It was only at Storms End did he realize "Oh shit, I'm not actually all that it's just I've always been in the company of my family."

And so Aemond, now having the chance with none of the Blacks around, asks him for his eye. Even still gives him the opportunity to pick which one, and only one. He wouldn't blind him.

And Luce, still being a pussy, runs away. I mean, let's all be completely honest here, if you were Aemond wtf would you do? This motherfucker, the guy who stole your eye, didn't feel bad (Not one goddamn apology), mocked you, and refused to pay the debt runs off. People have pointed out that logically Aemond because of how it was cut would have chronic pain. He's lived with that, constant reminders for six years. SIX YEARS. And even before that was bullied by his brother and nephews.

So, Aemond chases after him. To corner him and take his eye? To scare him? I don't fucking know. But they both (As in the two of them, Lucerys and Aemond,) lose control of their dragons and neither have any control over what they do. Even Luce, his dragon as small as it was. Arrax flames Vhagar, Vhagar gets mad and chomps him. We literally heard Aemond screaming and begging for Vhagar to stop. There is no way yall watched that scene and genuinley thought Aemond wanted to kill him. If you did, I think you have some context issues and a possible lack of empathy.

And above all, Aemond showed remorse. You could clearly see he was tearing up, and regretted it.

Do I think Luce deserved to die like that? No. Do I think he deserved the fear, and to have his eye taken? Absofuckinglutley.

Aemond will always be better than Lucerys idgaf. Argue with my giant balls.

Yet again Lucas, Dustin and Steve get a free pass for stalking Max and then technically kidnapping her because of Lucas' race. If a couple of people/kids stalked my younger sister for several months to the point where she had to scream at them in the middle of school to get him to leave her alone and then I found out the same kid took her to the woods to meet up with a guy whose notoriously obsessed with sex and she was locked in a strange house in the middle of the woods without any of her guardians knowing, the legal adult in the group lies and says he doesn't know where she is, I would also grab the kid I feel was responsible and yell at him and beat up anyone I thought was going to hurt us until I was sure I could get out alive with her.

If we have to judge Billy only on his bad cannon behaviour why are we not allowed to judge anyone else in the show on theirs? Also, no hate to Lucas and his stans, it's not his fault the Duffers hate him and vilified him until the end of s4, to his credit, after Billy confronted him he totally changed how he treated Max and stopped emulating the way Steve treats women and let her lead the relationship.

i want to bring back the blog

i have been on my cabinet painting journey lol so that's what i did all day in the morning

but then after drove to ann arbor for the ann arbor summer fest to see the girlies!

we drove thru an insane rainstorm to get there.

they were just drying off the chairs when we arrived and we saw a group named sabetye perform. great vibes!!!

there were some drag performers in the back and a band marching band as well

little did we know THIS person would become such an important character of the night

the energy was already becoming a lot it was building.

we are seated chilling getting ready to see scw and this white guy w headphones is like powerwalking by and he has a vinyl in his arm but one of the records falls out of the case.

i was like HEYY!

but didn't get up to get it lol but a good samaritan fit going crazy did!

they picked it up the record but then had to CHASE the guy down bc he was walking so fast and then the record hero offered the white guy his record back that he dropped and the dude like made the gesture of NO THANKS DON'T TALK TO ME?? and kept walking lmfao

idk what he was thinking??? but then the record hero had to offer the record again and apparently have a long convo w the guy. we talked to the record hero after and they said the yt guy gave them $5 for that

anyway

so we are waiting for the show to start and this person stands up and makes an announcement like just want to say welcome to the festival. i guess they are from one of the orgs sponsoring....

but they keep going like "thank u i just want to say we need to use our privilege to make a difference!! run for office u guys!! we are on stolen land! all the buildings around us were built by slaves!!!" ..........it was a lot.

so the show happens it was amazing they sounded and looked ethereal and scw's set gets cut short bc of the time constraint/noise ordinance etc

this same person who made the privilege announcement kanye wests the stage and grabs the mic from the host like 'NO WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!! this is a democracy!! who wants her to finish her set!! that girl wasn't allowed to finish!!! ann arbor i can't believe you are doing this!!! let's take a vote!! who wants her to finish!!"

i guess next in the festival lineup they were going to show the black panther movie using the same stage (LMFAO)

finished the ssssg rewatch, man i liked this show a lot when i first saw it and it was even better the second time around!! (plus movie hype probably helped lmfaoooooooo)

also like. there are So many neat little bits that got followed up in dnzn that i’m only just noticing. akane tells anti that kaiju can’t see what’s in a human heart and then shizumu asks yomogi a thousand and one questions abt the human condition. knight’s sword is based on the look of calibur when he first used calibur as gridknight 🥺 i’m rewatching dnzn next and i’m really excited to see what else i missed out on the first time around!!

even just like watching ssssg for the second time and seeing how well the pieces are set up from the get go. like in ep1 utsumi confronts yuuta and is going on and on abt how akane’s so great and beloved by everyone and a god and whatnot and the first time i was like “oh horny teenager” but this time i was like 😳 like there are a ton of neat details like that and i was def able to catch a lot more this time around which i loved. i know people say this show is “subtle” compared to trigger’s other stuff and like yeah it’s not as boisterous or in your face but it is FAR FROM SUBTLE on rewatch LMFAO

ALSO ANTI!!!!!!!! makes a LOT of sense why they changed the movie name from gxd to gridman universe “cause it focuses on the gridman cast” cause like. obviously 😭 the character time in this show was rightfully spent on akane and anti and meanwhile rikka and utsumi got a lil bit at the end but all the dnzn charas got full ass arcs in that show. sounds like utsumi still didn’t get much more to do in the movie but i’m looking forward to getting to watch everything else in the movie play out!!!!
