HIIIII I was gonna draw some stuff for this but. Alas it is 6 am and god has seen fit to punish me for my hubris (cramps) so I’m just gonna distract myself writing this while I wait for the ibuprofen to kick in

So this is like. Completely out there bc it’s just me cherry-picking the series’ worldbuilding that I enjoy (and also completely changing it) for the sake of self indulgence <3

The Celestica people lived in ancient Hisui and were part of a trade network with the other regions. 3000 years ago, there was a war between Galar and Kalos that resulted in the darkest day and the ultimate weapon, and the news spread all over. A few centuries later, a traveller from Hisui came across the decimated weapon and its story. Idk who this character’s gonna be, probably a new OC bc I can't think of a canon character to throw this backstory onto

A bit of hc lore regarding how the ultimate weapon works: it's powered by infinity energy, the life force of pokemon, which is canon. I elaborate on that by having all infinity energy sourced from Arceus. Every pokemon is tied to it through the infinity energy necessary to live and exist (oh my god I just thought of the implications of this for manmade pokemon holy shit that's so cool I gotta think about this more), but some have more power than others. Legendaries (and maybe some mythicals?? I can't remember them all rn), which have power over nature/reality, have some of Arceus' own creation power tied into their infinity energy. All those mons are some of Arceus' thousand arms. This power can be harnessed by the ultimate weapon, which is how Lysandre intends to make the player immortal by powering it with Xerneas (so if someone powered an ultimate weapon with Kyogre, it could manipulate the oceans; if someone powered it with necrozma, it could manipulate light; etc etc)

So anyways -- the Hisuian came back and began building a new weapon, this time with the intent to create an entirely new world, just like Cyrus and Volo. Instead of a singular body like in Kalos, the three "petals" were placed around the region, equidistant from the temple of Sinnoh in the center. Each third was powered by one of the creation trio's orbs.

But tracking down those orbs was tough work -- the weapon-builder, who I'm just gonna call ZA for ease, reached out to historians and merchants to try and locate them (no one knew what they were up to at this point and what the orbs were intended for). Once all 3 had been found, the finders were told to bring them to a certain location at a specific time. At this point, ZA was at the temple of Sinnoh in the center of a region-wide weapon, and they fired.

Each third of the weapon created a crater, the three lakes. I made this shitty little representation like 3 weeks ago DHFJDKFK it's based off my vague memories of the nationwide transmutation circle from watching fma like 6 years ago

The weapon tore open a massive rift that kinda threw everything to shit, like having a spacetime distortion covering all of Hisui. This is the threat that the ancient hero mentioned in-game solved (I like the theory that the hero is Alder <3 so he was dragged in by the distortion like Ingo was, just. A couple thousand years earlier)

As for the people who delivered the orbs and were caught up in the blast -- idk who the lustrous globe holder was tbh, maybe I'll make them another oc if I don't find a character to chuck that lore onto. The one who had the griseous core was Volo; Cogita had the adamant crystal. Like AZ, they gained immortality from proximity to the weapon, but also inherited other elements of their respective pokemon's infinity energy. Cogita can see the past and future; Volo can access the distortion world. The theoretical third character could warp space or teleport.

The weapon firing and ensuing chaos killed off a lot of the Celestica people, and the remaining few had no stability in Hisui and so left for other regions. A few centuries before pla, the diamond and pearl clans' ancestors arrived, taking up the title of Celestica and upkeep of the temple of Sinnoh. I'd like to think that Cogita had passed on some of the ancient stories to them, which is how they know about the rift and hero from the past, as well as Dialga and Palkia (even though things got. A little misconstrued there)

#THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK IVE BEEN WRITING FOR UM. 2 HOURS #rambles #this stupidly convoluted lore is what made volo one of my fav pokemon characters ever #because he lost Everything to someone trying to create a new reality. he was cursed to wander a world where everyone he loved was killed #and everyone he came to love would die before him too #cogita knew what he'd become and wouldn't give him the time of day: she thought her visions of the future were absolute #so he became. very bitter and very good with people #using others to get what he wanted where his own strength failed (although he had plenty of time to become a very formidable trainer) #and not letting himself get attached to them #(he does still get attached to his pokemon though. he's lost a lot throughout the centuries) #eventually he becomes the thing he hates and starts seeking to create his own new reality where everything can just start over #and he can have a home again #he's SO SURE that the plates are the answer!! ZA failed bg using the power of creation by proxy -- he had a direct tie to arceus itself #but the player beats him and so he smokes some weed realizes he's a woman and then she chills out /j #pla #pokemon legends arceus #<- hopefully those wont show up in the main tags after a dozen tags of rambling I just wanna keep track of my own worldbuilding

but with with reader being there since jack's rookie season, she's been there through all of the injuries. after 4 years, you'd think she'd be used to it but she's not. she knows that injury is apart of the game but she still hates seeing jack get hurt.

when he took that big hit, she was freaking out. like pacing the wag suite and everything. checking ehr phone every 5 seconds waiting until she could go down and see him. brett's wife (or girlfriend idk if they're married or not) and toffoli's wife are trying to help keep her calm but it's not working.

she get's word that she can come down and see him and so she sprints down there. she immediately goes over and hugs him the best she can. they both let out breaths that they didn't know they were holding in.

jack says a bunch of reassuing words to her to help calm her down knowing how she gets when he gets hurt. he takes her hand and rubs his thumb across her knuckles to help calm her down and it does. he rests his head against her stomach letting her run her fingers thorugh his hair since it's something that calms the both of them.

he mumbles against he stomach, "marry me?"

"what?"

"marry me? this is totally not how i wanted to do this but i love you and i want to spend the rest of my life with you. you've been there supporting me through everything and i am so hopelessly in love with you that it isn't even funny. i have the ring and had a whole thing planned out but i don't care, just marry me?"

"yes. a million times yes. of course i'll marry you j."

they share a soft kiss and some happy tears before getting jack up and ready to go home. reader does say, "i'm not marrying you until after you get healed. and we're having a wedding and not just doing it at a court house."

piper loves affection, it's like her best friend. her top two love languages are gift giving and physical touch. will always greet her s/o with a cheek/forehead kiss and a hug.

piper is the best friend you could ask for. she's down for anything. when she makes the hangouts though, she typically does a movie night type of thing so the two of you could gossip.

piper isn't shy to say i love you, even if she has to do it first. once she knows she really loves a person, she'll never stop saying it.

piper gets jealous on the rare occasion, but when she does it's very strong. you have to talk some sense to her and remind her that she's the only person you have eyes for.

sweet and quick pecks are piper's forte, but if the mood calls for it she can be slow and sensual. she likes to kiss your cheeks and forehead a lot, but she does kiss on the lips quite frequently. and her favorite spot to be kissed is probably her knuckles, like how people kiss royalty. it makes her feel special and respected.

piper adores children. growing up in a lonely mansion did not help her emotional growth as a kid, so whenever she sees a kid she always plays with them and talks with them to make them feel seen.

piper enjoys sleeping in, and doesn't usually get up till around eleven. and even then, it's kind of hard to wake her up. she adores morning lazy cuddles though.

piper's kind of a night owl, and can only fall asleep to some kind of noise (music, tv, etc), so it is something you have to grow used to when sleeping next to her.

piper trusts you dearly, but it can be hard for her to open up and say the truth after being framed as a liar for such a long period of her life. so, she does open up slowly at first, but once she's done it the first few times she'll just start saying everything.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

out of the seven, i'd say piper's the most patient. she always has to be careful about how she says things, and interprets them due to her charmspeak and how it can occur without her meaning it to when distressed, so she forces herself to be patient. regardless of that though, she's always been super understanding.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

piper has a good memory in the books, able to remember specific little details without problem, so it's no surprise that she's especially attentive to you and remembers a lot. her christmas gifts are amazinggg

her favorite memory is taking you out to her grandpa's old cabin for a weekend and having time for just the two of you to relax

being the daughter of the goddess of love, there's no doubt that piper puts immense amounts of effort into dates and anniversaries. she also loves making home-made gifts for you, so piper is always good about those kinds of things.

she tends to get low on confidence at times, and might believe that you're too good for her. times like that you kind of just need to bring her back down to earth.

The tiny girl bounced on her toes, eyes grazing the ground. The square of paper she held out to you almost blew away in the light breeze.

She couldn't have imagined the smile her words would bring forth from you.

The sound of your beads knocking together was like music to her ears. She loved how the wind blew the smell of your cocoa butter and tea tree oil-scented plaits straight to her nostrils.

"Thank you!" your voice ringing out made her heart swell. "I did them myself."

Her bright, cocoa-colored eyes grew three sizes. "You did them yourself? All by yourself?"

"All by myself," you giggled a wonderful-sounding melody. "I could do yours too! We can match!"

She nodded hard, beadless braids recoiling with each bob of her head. "You wouldn't mind? I would love that!"

"I wouldn't mind." Your hand outstretched, grabbing hold of hers and squeezing tight. "I'm y/n."

Her smile was so gleaming, the missing two front teeth not taking away from her dazzling grin. "Ramonda."

Hi y/n. My mama said you can't play in my hair anymore. -Ramonda

"This didn't have to be a note, Ramonda."

She shrugged, taking her place between your knees and sitting back. "Notes have kind of become our thing."

"We don't have a thing, Mondie. And why did umama say that?"

The nonchalant shrug makes a return. "She said I'm not a doll."

Ramonda blushed, settling into your touch and laying her head back to allow you better access.

"Do you want me to stop doing your hair?"

She didn't even have to think before she responded. "No. You're not playing in my hair if I ask you to do it."

Hey y/n. Mom pressed my hair, but she bumped the ends. Can you fix it? -Ramonda

Usually, Ramonda loved the sound of your laughter. The joyous sound pulled her from her darkest moments and she especially loved it when she was the one who made you laugh.

Except for right now. Right now, you were laughing at her instead of with her. "Y-you look like that-that American singer, J-James, something... Oh! James Brown!"

If looks could kill... Ramonda wouldn't go that far, but the glare she was giving you right now was something serious.

She stomped over to you, curls bouncing with each step. "Just fix it, y/n/n. And shut up."

Her defeated figure sunk into her usual spot between your legs and your hands gravitated towards her scalp like a magnet.

"I got you, Mondie."

Y/n! I am tired of walking around with this matted mess on my head. Come braid it for me. -Ramonda

"I could have been over here sooner if you hadn't sent a note via carrier pigeon."

"My brother is not a carrier pigeon," Ramonda chuckled as you walked through the door.

She sat on the floor, awaiting your arrival. Seeing you walk into her room always brought a smile to her face and this time was no different.

The two of you settled into your habitual positions and your skilled and gentle hands flew to work.

"I'm glad you called for me though, Mondie."

Ramonda's heart melted at the affection. "You are?"

"I have to talk to you about something."

Anxiety pooled through her veins. She didn't know what you would say, but she hoped, prayed, and longed that it would be what she wanted to hear.

"I'm leaving, Mondie."

That wasn't what she wanted to hear...

"Y-you're leaving?"

"Yes..."

"O-okay," she stuttered. "W-where to? Why?"

"I'm going to the States, Mondie. Cosmetology school."

The States. Seas away. An ocean away. Hundreds of thousands of miles away.

"W-why so f-far away?"

"I just want to venture out. I got accepted into a school over there, so why not go?"

Ramonda's heart could name a thousand reasons why. A million. Because Wakanda was home. Because she was here. Because she loved you.

She loved you... She'd never said it... She hadn't even been so sure of it herself... Until today.

A young Ramonda wanted you to stay. She knew you would if she confessed. Then you could stay in Wakanda. You could stay there, with her. You two could build together; be together...

She didn't though. She didn't say any of that. Instead, she told you what she knew you wanted to hear.

"You really want me to loc your hair, Mondie? That's a big commitment."

Nothing had changed between two old friends and it was evident when Ramonda took place between your legs.

"It's a commitment I'm ready to make with you."

T'Chaka was a gentleman, he was kind, and he was infatuated with her. He was everything her family wanted for Ramonda and more.

She loved him, but she wasn't in love with him.

"Mondie... You're gonna be queen?"

"I-I'm gonna be Queen..."

I am pregnant, y/n! And it's a boy! Thank Bast. I can keep his hair cut short and it'll be so easy to style. Come! I want you by my side when he enters the world. -Ramonda

The small boy was barely the size of your forearm. He rested so peacefully, so gently in your hold.

Ramonda rested, watching you with slitted lids. It was a sight she'd always dreamt of, one she would have never imagined she'd actually see.

She just wished it were true.

"What will you call him?"

Your question shook the queen. "You knew I was awake?"

"I know you, Mondie."

She hummed at the affectionate name, the one you'd adorned her with back in your childhood.

"His name is T'Challa."

"Hi little T'Challa," you cooed at the boy. "You're my baby, now."

Now it was Ramonda's melodic laughter that chimes in your ears. "You are not taking my child back to the States."

"Then I'll come home, Mondie."

Ramonda couldn't believe her ears. Tears flowed from her mocha orbs. She'd been praying for you to return home, to return to her, for years.

"Will you? Really, y/n? You'll come home?"

"I'm coming home."

They lied to me, y/n. T'Challa's hair is just as high maintenance. -Ramonda

"You don't think it's too soon, y/n?" Ramonda was anxiously leaning over your shoulder, eyes glued to her baby boy and the scissors in your hand.

"Are you going to comb, wash, braid, or twist his hair, Mondie?"

Silence washed over her. She was considering it. For whatever reason, cutting T'Challa's hair felt like cutting a string of her heart.

Ramonda tried, she really had. She tried to comb and wash the matted 'fro, but his little lungs held a lot of power, and combined with his shrill voice, she left with ringing ears.

Her attempt at braiding and twisting became a chunky, tangled mess. So she gave up.

"Cut it. But be gentle..."

Y/n, Bast has a vendetta against me. A baby girl... Is it acceptable for me to shave her hair as well? -Ramonda

"I will break your fingers if you shave any of this big, beautiful hair!"

A small Shuri squirmed in your lap, trying really hard to escape your hold on her head.

"She won't let me do it, y/n!" Ramonda was beyond frustrated with her young daughter. Shuri's hair had gone undone for far too long and her poor mother was seconds away from grabbing the clippers.

"Would you even know what to do with it if she did let you?"

"No, I wouldn't... That's why I have you, y/n/n."

"That's why you have me, Mondie."

Y/n, my old friend. Shuri no longer wants beads and bows. What do I do with her hair now? -Ramonda

"Ma! Umama is trying to make me wear these giant bows in my hair. I'm too old for that!"

You barely had time to step through the door before Shuri approached you, her mama hot on her heels.

Your existence normally brought Ramonda peace, but right now, it wasn't working. Her heart was broken; her little girl didn't want to be her little girl anymore.

"Mondie," you addressed your first favorite girl just as your second favorite girl bombarded you with a hug. "She's too old for the bows and the beads."

Ramonda stopped in her tracks. Of course, it would take your words to finally get through to her. "Sh-she is?"

"She is."

"I am, mother."

Shuri is asking for box braids, y/n. I am not even going to attempt it. -Ramonda

Ramonda was always amazed by how your fingers flew when you worked, and how the focus was etched across your face so beautifully.

"I can feel you staring at me, Mondie."

Blush rose to her cheeks. "I am just admiring your work."

"Get a room, you two," Shuri's light voice rang out from under your touch.

The deja-vu was clear to both you and Ramonda. The same hands that always worked so tenderly on her own scalp were now showing the same love to her daughter.

Ramonda wasn't lost on that. And somehow, she loved you even more for it.

Yn... I need you, my dear. My T'Challa... Please, my y/n... Make Bast bring him back... -Ramonda

The shears were heavy in your hands. Ramonda sat between your legs, head resting on your thighs and arms engulfing your calf in a tense hug.

Shuri sat in the corner, knees pulled to her chest, silent. She hadn't spoken since you'd arrived, just pulling you in for a hug and crying into your chest as you offered up some solitude.

Ramonda fell into your touch, sighing at the hand that ran through her frizzy locs.

"Are you sure, Mondie?"

Your old friend, your best friend, nodded slowly. Her heartbreak was mirrored in your own. Bast knows you just wanted to hold her and take the pain away. But Bast had also just taken away everything Ramonda lived for...

Your mind wandered to your first meeting. The shy girl who approached you transformed into this broken monarch.

Ramonda turned to face you, eyes glistening. "You're finally admitting it?"

You brought your face closer to hers, so close that you could feel her warm breath and her intoxicating scent mixing, pulling you in further.

"I love you, Ramonda. I'm finally admitting that. Not the notes thing. We've been doing it for years, I thought you'd outgrown it decades ago.”

The Queen felt as though her heart would burst. She was finally hearing it. The words she'd prayed to hear so, so many years ago. After decades, Ramonda confessed.

"You knew?"

Your hands ran a comforting touch down Ramonda's back. "I knew. I'm just annoyed that you would finally say it before I have to leave for the States for a few."

@enluv hmm i was pondering tbh and eventually chose kornelia!! when i was younger i wanted to be named that and was very pissed at my parents for not choosing it as my name >:( it’s so so pretty and the short for it AHHH!! most people use kora and it literally translates into tree bark (i think that’s the name?). there was also a very talented polish singer who used kora as her stage name (sadly she passed away but a lot of people still love her music🥹)

reflections on the year, my plans for the future, some studies i did, and wips for the next year all down below for those who are interested

oh dear lord it's been another year. 2024! can you believe it! i don't talk much on this blog because i have a tendency to talk too much, but it's my little new year's treat, so here we go.

RECAP

i started taking drawing "seriously" in December of 2020, starting to do studies and stuff, and each year since i've ramped it up more and more. this year, i did. a lot of studies. there's probably like at least 200 more in my folder now (not including the 300 days worth of gesture drawings i did), with things like painting, faces, feet, poses, etc. anything i was struggling with, i went right into studying it. my art has been mediocre for a pretty long time now, and it's only the past few months where i feel i'm starting to get the hang of it, which is exciting!

more importantly, i started posting a lot more on this blog. i really like documenting my progress, looking on where i was before and seeing how i've improved. everytime i draw some fanart, im like, oooghh i can't wait to show my (: followers (: !! lots of locked tomb art of course. i've been trying to nail the energy of the different characters, which is why i enjoy books so much, because you get a lot of creative control. drawing ianthe is my fav of course, cause she's my lil nasty, but also i enjoyed doing designs for characters i hadnt thought about before, like judith.

in addition to the locked tomb, we had some new fandoms that got brief moments in between iantheposting: Fear and Hunger, Postal, Faith The Unholy Trinity, and a couple of old ones too, like We Have Always Lived In The Castle and The Merciless.

i posted about 115 times this year, although most of those are shitposts LOL i love posting stuff on my blog and showing people my stuff <3

THE FUTURE

my plans? do more ianthe art, of course. ill be working on more studies, probably going to work on developing a style, and figuring out how to paint. i'd like to do more actually finished pieces, but let's be honest, it'll still be mostly shitpost doodles. i'd like to do more weird stuff. i've been messing around with some gore and NSFW near the end of the year, and it's fun to draw for me. i like idk art that evokes some type of emotion, especially discomfort, and so i find that type of art fun to do, so if you don't enjoy what i've done thus far in that direction, perhaps this isn't the blog for you. i really like horror media, and so i want to do some stuff like that too.

for specifics, i like western type art, a comic book-esque style i'd like to aim for. but i'd like it to be a little more. weird with it. i find comic books often draw all the characters the same, and make all the characters traditionally attractive, and that's boring to me so i'll have to work on finding a way to keep things weird, while also appealing in a graphic sense. the worst thing my art could be is bland and forgettable.

locked tomb wise... more tridentarii art. need to be really weird with it. i have lots of wips planned, like i have a whole page worth of just thumbnails, so i wanna get some of those done. also i had a few animatics i wanted to do. mostly stupid shit, once i learn how to do animatics, then we'll do actual serious ones. id also like to do more comics. i have some comics storyboarded out with my girlies, i like telling a story so, need practice on that. id also like to develop a way to consistently draw them, for convenience sakes, so i'm not fighting for my life every single time i draw these characters. oh and i wanna do some outfit stuff. i draw them in like. generic clothes everytime but i'd like to come up with a few actual outfit designs, that i can just reference back to. and, of course, more shitposts. lots of stupid shit in 2024 for sure. there was something else i wanted to say here but i can't remember.

ART

oki enough rambling, here's some IMAGES for yall to look at i know everyone loves to look at images.

began this year by warming up with gesture sketches (almost) every day. i started with 20 poses (30 seconds each), and then in november i was like. ugh my hands suck i need to get better at hands, so i switched to doing 10 hand sketches (60 seconds each). i want my art to be very energetic so it's important that i do these !!

anatomy studies of extremities because i'm flopping at those -_- ive gotten better with hands but they're still a struggle. i hate feet tho still

need to get my painting game up. i joined an art forum to get advice, and the biggest suggestion i got was working on my values, so i did various value studies. also lots of faces because my faces flop !!

random doodles to work on drawing from imagination. on my "sketchbook" pages, as i like to call them, i'm usually pretty loose and messy, since the point is just to be drawing so often these will suck, but that's fine. i don't think very much when i draw faces on here either so they end up being in my Instinctive Style i suppose you could say

ianthe wip. i was planning to do a few drawings based on the idea of her having Missing Arm nightmares, but the lineart was intimidating to me so i haven't worked on this one more yet /: also there was going to be a toontown gay homosexual toxic yuri comic that i was gonna put here with it but the page is way too long so umm guess that'll have to wait.
