A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

piper loves affection, it's like her best friend. her top two love languages are gift giving and physical touch. will always greet her s/o with a cheek/forehead kiss and a hug.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

piper is the best friend you could ask for. she's down for anything. when she makes the hangouts though, she typically does a movie night type of thing so the two of you could gossip.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

piper is like a leech in bed, she just wants to take up all the warmth. she'll steal the blankets too. typically likes to curl up next to her partner, no matter their height compared to hers, but will be big spoon if wanted.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

piper has wanted to settle down with the people she loved her whole life. she isn't the best at cooking or cleaning but is willing to learn.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

piper would try her best to keep a relationship going but she also knows when to accept that it's not going to work out. she'll have a nice calm talk with her partner and explain, and try not to leave off on bad terms.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

piper is willing to be loyal and give her commitment to marriage if her partner is ready too. she'll want at least three years of dating before marriage though.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

physically, piper is kind of rough. she really embodies her love, and it can be a lot sometimes so you'll have to remind her calm down and be gentle sometimes. emotionally, she's such a sweet understanding soul who always tries her best to do right by you.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

piper loves hugs, especially bear hugs. like i said, she likes to greet people with hugs. she gives long tight hugs with big squeezes.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

piper isn't shy to say i love you, even if she has to do it first. once she knows she really loves a person, she'll never stop saying it.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

piper gets jealous on the rare occasion, but when she does it's very strong. you have to talk some sense to her and remind her that she's the only person you have eyes for.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

sweet and quick pecks are piper's forte, but if the mood calls for it she can be slow and sensual. she likes to kiss your cheeks and forehead a lot, but she does kiss on the lips quite frequently. and her favorite spot to be kissed is probably her knuckles, like how people kiss royalty. it makes her feel special and respected.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

piper adores children. growing up in a lonely mansion did not help her emotional growth as a kid, so whenever she sees a kid she always plays with them and talks with them to make them feel seen.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

piper enjoys sleeping in, and doesn't usually get up till around eleven. and even then, it's kind of hard to wake her up. she adores morning lazy cuddles though.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

piper's kind of a night owl, and can only fall asleep to some kind of noise (music, tv, etc), so it is something you have to grow used to when sleeping next to her.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

piper trusts you dearly, but it can be hard for her to open up and say the truth after being framed as a liar for such a long period of her life. so, she does open up slowly at first, but once she's done it the first few times she'll just start saying everything.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

out of the seven, i'd say piper's the most patient. she always has to be careful about how she says things, and interprets them due to her charmspeak and how it can occur without her meaning it to when distressed, so she forces herself to be patient. regardless of that though, she's always been super understanding.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

piper has a good memory in the books, able to remember specific little details without problem, so it's no surprise that she's especially attentive to you and remembers a lot. her christmas gifts are amazinggg

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

her favorite memory is taking you out to her grandpa's old cabin for a weekend and having time for just the two of you to relax

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

piper isn't as protective as some of the other members of the seven, mostly because she deeply believes in your capabilities but if she ever thought you were in danger she would have no problem with stepping in. the same goes for how she feels about herself, because she knows she can take down a monster if needed.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

being the daughter of the goddess of love, there's no doubt that piper puts immense amounts of effort into dates and anniversaries. she also loves making home-made gifts for you, so piper is always good about those kinds of things.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

she tends to get low on confidence at times, and might believe that you're too good for her. times like that you kind of just need to bring her back down to earth.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

piper knows she's beautiful, so she's purposefully gone out of her way in the past to make herself look "ugly" to try and get rid of the stereotype that pretty people can't be strong. now though, after discovering she was a demigod, she takes more pride in her appearance and actually enjoys dressing up on the rare occasion.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

once piper loves someone, they become a part of her. she loves everyone in the seven, so if they were to ever leave she'd be deeply upset but you? she'd be devastated and completely heartbroken.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

loves hello kitty, and feminine clothing and things like that but just never has the time to really dress up.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

people who are controlling about their partner's social life but seemingly don't care about any other aspect. gives her the ick.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

piper moves around a lot in her sleep, so expect to be whacked by an arm or a leg at least once.

Just a post to give appreciation to all the underappreciated characters in my fav medias rn! (And more opinions on HOO)

Hazel Levesque:

- Y'all need to stop saying how she's "harmless" like yes she's sweet and loves everyone, I agree, (I mean she literally gave up Elysium so her mom wouldn't go to the fields of punishment) but that doesn't mean she wouldn't hurt a fucking fly! She is VERY powerful! Like killed a Giant by herself at THIRTEEN powerful!!

Frank Zhang:

- Same thing for him actually!! And he's actually not as sweet! He definitely is but that's because he tries to be!! He is actually so angry all the time!! I mean your dad having his personality crisis inside your head 24/7??? Hell yeah I'd be mad too!!

- Also the amount of times he expressed how uncomfortable that transition was!! It was more uncomfortable than before!! Like fat Frank for the win please!!

- But you guys have the same problem with him as Hazel!! He WOULD hurt a fly!! He took down an entire army by his damn self!!!

Jason Grace:

OH MY GOD okay so a beloved follower of mine sent me an ask about my tristan mclean headcanons like in december but i accidentally deleted !!!!!!! the fuckcing ask !!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i'm making it a post. hope you don't mind. also sorry for the wait

most of my thoughts are things i can not share on this blog (this is the Normal blog for Normal things and not the fucked up torture i subject this man to on a regular basis. tbf i hardly post about it on the Bad Posts blog either but like still. can share it on ao3 though check out sleep by imjustheretoreadonefic (don't do that it's not good)) but you can ask about that (if you want, which you probably won't because it is not most people's thing lmao) on my sideblog, yourfourthparent!! BUTBUTBUT i do have some thoughts and headcanons and such that are at the very least decently presentable!!!!

starting off first: i think he's bi! i think he figured out he was bi when he was pretty young (probably somewhere in his teenage years, probably like 15 max) and when he was in his 20s he was very involved in the queer community (his 20s being. in the 80s. sorry.) and was like a big activist. that is until the curse.

the curse being him hitting his big break. stars in some film that wasn't supposed to really blow up but it like Fucking Smashed and suddenly he was like all those guys who do one role and then are suddenly in Everything. cuz he sure is in literally everything. once he starts blowing up ofc he's got folks to help manage his image and at some point they're like haha [lip bite] you gotta stop with that gay shit or straight audiences won't find you marketable. you're already native and folks can hardly handle that let alone you being an active queer activist. you gotta cut that shit out so you can be the next batman or whatever. and tristan's like Well at least i'll make money to support myself and my dying father!

newsflash his father dies of cancer before he gets a chance. tristan's doing his best to avoid thinking about his father's death so he moves out of oklahoma blah blah yk how it goes.

he has piper when he's 33 ! everything's set and he's settled and then piper comes along and like. he's alright. he can handle this. he can be a good father (he's white knuckling the bathroom sink while he says this)

yeah he's terrified of being a shitty father. he does his best to keep her away from the press and keep her Okay for the most part but in order to do that he doesn't get to see her much etc etc. you know. you've read hoo. bleh

when piper starts dating jason he's like Oh cool ! i am about to break down ! cuz like. hey man. he is so not prepared for the reality of The Passage of Time. wdym his daughter is 16. fym tristan's almost fifty. that's so fucked up how is this allowed.

anyways he and jason are like Besties (*shoving my Bad posts to the side*) like they're such good friends they hang out so often even after jason and piper break up they're just Hiding it then. like they have weekly chess meetings and they talk about books and their lives and jason concerns tristan So Much oh my god tristan is so scared for this poor boy What are those tattoos young man Who are these "wolves" that raised you What is this "legion" Are you in a gang Little private school boy are you in a gang. What do you mean your first language is latin.

ngl my obsession with tristan came from my obsession with jason. i made a post like ages ago about how silly it'd be if tristan was jason's gay awakening and i just kept. thinking about them hanging out. and it spiralled and now i'm insane about him sorry. jason will always be my number one but Oohhhhh tristan consumes me.

anyways live tristan reaction when he finds out jason's mom is beryl grace in the middle of showing jason and piper a million old movies (beryl is in one and jason sees her and immediately freezes and tristan's just talking through the movie (hes silly sorry he talks through the whole thing. piper actually likes it because she has a hard time following movies so tristan explaining everything is good but jason is vaguely annoyed by it. he loves tristan to death don't get him wrong it's just that he can't concentrate on the kovie with tristan spitting fun facts a million words a second) when he looks over to see if theyre still watching and he just sees piper fretting over jason who's looking at the screen with a thousand gard stare.

let's go misc things that i want to mention somewhere but don't really fit uhhhh

i have this idea where tristan used to be a drag queen. i don't have any of the details down not a single one but i think about him talking to piper and her friends about the old days when he was a queen. mentions something offhandedly about how he wants to wear more feminine clothing and someone's like "oh are you like. yk. a gamer" and he's like "oh nonono i'm not trans trust me i explored my gender plenty, wore makeup, padded my bra, did drag for a few years, changed my name—" and they're like "you did DRAG ???" and he's like "OH yeah LOLZ i was terrible lol. my team keeps trying to bury it from public view for a reason. those looks were NOT serving !!!!" (he doesn't talk like that but i'm being silly rn)

(you just knoooooow jason was jaw on the floor immediately looking up TRISTAN MCLEAN DRAG TRISTAN MCLEAN DRAG QUEEN PERSONA NAME TRISTAN MCLEAN DRAG QUEEN TRISTAN MCLEAN— the SECONDDDD he got a chance. like staring so hard at old ass pictures of tristan doing drag and realising like Oh maybe i am bi. piper dumped him because she found his search history /j)

i think when his father died he cut his hair but then when it started growing long again it reminded him too much of the past that he Didn’t Want To Think About so he just. kept it short. and it's been short ever since. BUTBUTBUT when piper decides she wants to reconnect with her culture (which she's been mostly separate from because of tristan's own avoidance of it due to memories of his childhood and his father and blahblahblah) it sort of motivates him to do it too. like if piper's gonna do it after tristan entirely cut her from their culture then like. he can too. and it was a big part of his life when he was younger so like. he knows shit. i'm not good at this btw sorry i just have ideas UGSFHADGSF but anyways when piper starts reconnecting he decides to do it too and his first step with like Getting Comfortable again is growing his hair out. it's a smaller step yk he just doesn't cut his hair it's nothing active. (ofc when it starts getting properly long he has a few moments. he has to really confront his grief over his father's death and just the fear of that alone is enough to make him want to cut it again. piper stops him before he does but he has a few moments where he questions if it's worth it)

ik i just said earlier that he's not trans but like sometimes. with characters. i have headcanons that complety contradict each other. that is to say Transfem tristan mclean headcanon. she changes her name to t. just T. t wynn mclean. she goes by t cuz it's something she's already used to (jason called her that all the time before she came out).

these are all the ones i have off the top of my head agh pleaseplease feel free to ask more about any of these !!! heroes of olympus au where esperanza ends up living (either the fire never happened or she ends up surviving). leo enjoys his quiet life with his mother until, one day, she mentions she’s been seeing someone recently, and that they’ve been getting serious. leo is happy for his mother, but he can’t help being a little jealous that he has to share his mom with someone else.

he’s quite shocked when he finds out his mom’s new boyfriend is none other than famous actor tristan mclean. he’s even more shocked to find out the man has a daughter around his age.

esperanza and tristan were worried about how to bring their two families together, worried their children, despite being the same age as each other, wouldn’t get along. turns out, what they had to worry about wasn’t them not getting along, but instead them getting along way too well.

at first, the two were tense and suspicious around each other. however, after learning about leo’s knack for inventing and piper’s ability to persuade people, they became a chaotic, unstoppable duo. after that day, the two became inseparable, determined to always be there for each other and to leave chaos in their wake, wherever they may go.

Esperanza never spoke bad about Hephaestus, and she knew he was going to come back, if not for her, just for kid + Hephaestus admitting he's always liked her and Leo is his favorite + Leo always missing her + negative childhood interactions with gods (tía callida/gaea) → Leo constantly faced with the cons of being a demigod but always trying to find a good solution for everyone

vs Piper never liking her mom and everything about Aphrodite's claiming causing more issues, there is never any benefit + Tristan breaking when knowing the Gods are real, and it ruins his life repeatedly, being left ignorant of it all as the better option after all this ruin + Piper always wanting to go back to him + her only godliness pre-claiming was charmspeak she hated → Piper seeing all the terrifying parts of being a demigod, and eventually going back to her mortal life

While I still think that Esperanza would laugh at the thought of dating a guy like Tristan... there are many ways to take a mortal step siblings Leo & Piper au....

so:

Tia Callida??

How would the addition of another seemingly unimportant demigod impact her dynamic with Leo?

She probably would have wormed her way into their new place, being like, 'damn, now I gotta gaslight TWICE as many mortals?'

Depending on where in his career Tristan was at any given point, they could hire actual babysitters and nannies, in which case, Hera would either need to lay the magic trickery on heavier or get a new disguise.

I think Piper says that his King of Sparta role was like his break out hit, even though he had success before that, and she helped him study up on Greek mythos, so she must not have been super young at that point.

Then again, it'd been long enough that the McLean’s had fallen into a bad cycle of Piper getting into trouble for attention and Tristan not giving it to her and having Jane deal with her, not to mention the whole 'any three questions' thing.

So let's just assume that Tristan was mildly successful from when Piper was relatively young, like 6 or 7.

Anyway, yeah, so like, Piper would have a LOT of complicated feelings about her dad remarrying and having someone else take his time and attention, even though Esperanza would absolutely be loving and supportive to Piper.

So like, part of her wants to lean into having a maternal figure, but she's GOT a mom, one that she's desperate to know more about, one that her father will never tell her about. And it feels like Tristan is just replacing this mom Piper's been yearning for, and no matter how great and kind this lady may be, she ISN'T Piper's mom.

And then there's Leo. I don't think they'd get along at first. Piper likely thinks he's odd and isn't interested in what he likes. At this point though, Leo doesn't go out of his way to be loud and make people laugh or hide his feelings, because he doesn't yet have anything to run or hide from.

Leo's got a more healthy view of his birth father, because his mother has always told him that they'll meet one day and that he'll understand more when that happens. Leo sees his father less as part of his mother and he's less curious about him than Piper is about her mom.

Leo would be pretty uninterested in Tristan as a person at first, but he'd be glad that his mom has more help and more time for herself and that she doesn't have to struggle as much.

While Esperanza wouldn't let Tristan use his fame to get her a job, he DOES know a lot of rich and influential people who know people and basically, he creates opportunities for the right people to see how intelligent and valuable Esperanza is as an engineer, and gives her some breathing room to develop that screw design she was working on and trying to get patented when she died in canon.

She eventually DOES get her design patented and sets Leo up for the future.

Both parents seem like they'd be generous with each other and their kids, but both have known struggle and idk, it'd probably be something they have to talk about, I'm not sure what outcome it'd be.

Either way, they of course DO consider their step children as family and WOULD take care of them if something happened to their spouse.

Which leads us to the Gaea of it all.

So she sets up Esperanza's death because her employee Madea got a premonition while in the Fields of Punishment that Leo was fated to cause Gaea issues. Gaea couldn't outright kill Leo, but she does say that she can make him suffer.

Piper being in the picture could go a few ways:

Either, Madea also sees that Piper is a threat, which would be interesting since she and Piper have that whole charmspeak/ magic struggle in TLH and in TBM.

It could be more personal for Madea that way, she might highlight Piper's role over Leo's which, if it's only one parent to die, might make it Tristan.

But considering that in canon Piper still existed at the time that Leo did, and Gaea decided to set him up to suffer and not Piper? But then that might have been because of Hera paying attention to him and training him to be a hero.

But if Hera was still around when Piper came into the picture...

Idk what Hera and Aphrodite's relationship is like. I'd like to believe that it's one of the more positive ones, since love and marriage go together (ideally) and I don't think Aphrodite ever had an affair with Zeus, so there's a point in her favor to Hera.

It WOULD be something to have the whole lost trio be coached/ favored by Juno/Hera...

If that's the case, then yes, Piper might have been on both Madea and Gaea's radar, in which case, Gaea might have targeted both Tristan and Esperanza.

Which just leads to a whole other mess:

Things could go a lot of different ways depending on whether or not Leo and Piper considered each other siblings, or if they got along or were friends.

As much as I like the idea of their friendship, I don't think it was really as strong in canon as it's made out to be by readers. Piper has a selfish streak, and I'm not saying that to be hateful. It's an important and interesting element of her character, and it could be really integral in this situation.

Piper was like, the first person to have positive feelings about Leo's fire and to praise him for it in canon.

Can you imagine the reverse of that, if Gaea manipulates him into killing both his mother and Piper's father?

Piper MIGHT hold on to Leo because he's the only family she has left, and she's terrified to be alone. Or she might lash out and hurt him more deeply than he's ever been hurt.

That also depends on whether Hera trained Piper as well, and if Piper was jealous of the preference that the 'babysitter' showed to Leo over her.

Also, Piper would have become attached to Esperanza eventually, even if she didn't want to admit it. And that, the loss of another mother, of never getting to show her that she did consider her a mom, that she's gone, and Piper made her think that she didn't want her, that she pushed her away and now doesn't get the chance to fix that?

And that, I think, could get Leo to fight back, because he spent the whole time watching Piper outwardly reject his mother, who he loved so much and now Piper wants to act like her death is about Piper's loss?

They could very well implode.

And they go their separate ways, Piper to whatever guardian her father had appointed for her, and Leo running from that same guardian, because of course their parents wanted them to stay together.

So Piper's just trying to live her life but she's always haunted by the knowledge that her brother is somewhere out there, alone and probably in danger and she has no idea what happened to him or where he is or if he's thinking about her.

Oh, and when they meet up again for the Prophecy of Seven bullshit?? Woooooooo!!

Or maybe she runs off too, but in the opposite direction of Leo, and they go through they're own shit, learning and getting stronger and getting knocked down and getting back up again, but always seem to run into each other over and over again, and it's like, 'ugh, you again' but also 'oh thank god you're okay' but also 'get out of my face i never want to see you again' but 'if you touch my sister/ my brother again you'll be on your way to the Underworld WAY early'.

And maybe one of them gets into a scrape they can't get out of and the other HAS to help, they HAVE to, and that leads to some kind of reconciliation even though there are all these bitter feelings of grief and blame and abandonment, but beneath that, they just miss each other, god, they miss each other.

Or, Piper might not blame Leo, whether because Hera did train her too and she knew about Leo's abilities already and knew that he wouldn't have hurt their parents and saw that Gaea was manipulating him.

In that case, then, yay, a little runaway team of two.

Doubtful that Gaea would let the two of them end up anywhere good, even though Tristan would have had better options for a guardian than Esperanza would have with her judgmental family.

Or maybe they might have ended up someone fine, but they're both traumatized and terrified and grieving and can't trust anyone but themselves and run from any decent situation to make it on their own.

And you know, maybe they end up in the Labyrinth, or the Lotus Casino, or get found by the Titan army. Maybe they stumble into the Waystation, maybe a random god takes them under wing and guides them along to camp, lots of stuff could happen.

Because the world is terrible, they would need to develop their abilities much sooner to keep themselves safe.

They've probably killed some people.

Like, Piper would scream in blind terror at some man following her to leave her alone and he'd walk out into traffic and calmly get hit by a truck, that kind of thing.

Well, Piper probably kills people, accidentally and then intentionally when needed, but Leo might not be able to bring himself to repeat what he did to their parents. It's okay, though, Piper understands and takes care of that part.

Oh, and by the time they get to the giant war, they are just so done.
