like i absolutely adore how important trust is to phils character, without ever saying it, he's shown that if he trusts another, then it means that he'll go to war for them at the snap of their fingers. any info they need, he'll give and he'll help no questions asked. a core part of his character and etoiles has fully earned that and this clip really gets it and AAAA I LOVE HIM

the way that phil also doesn't ever follow it up, he trusts that whatever etoiles is doing- he'll ask for help if he needs it. there's something so special to me about full blind trust that kills me.

also a cute extra is that in chat after phil tells etoiles that he trusts him, someone says "philza buff" so it's absolutely a new hc that if etoiles gets a positive message from phil, then u better pray u aren't his enemy cause he's gonna beat the absolute shit outta u when he has encouragement from the bestie - 💿

Etoiles can message him anything at any given time with no context and Phil will just. follow, trust him blindly with no second thought because he knows that he can trust Etoiles without having to think about it. There are no doubts between them no matter what people say. He wouldn‘t be scared if his life was in Etoiles hands, because he knows Etoiles will do the right decision no matter the outcome.

Etoiles earned Phils trust and this means Phil will go to hell, back and even further if he has to. He is friendly and always willing to help people to a certain extend, but gaining his actual trust is so much harder than it seems sometimes.

His loyalty might kill Phil at some point if it comes to it, but then he‘ll gladly die at the side of those he trusts most.

Getting encouragement and positive responses from someone Etoiles trusts just as much is definitely highly motivating, something that somehow pushes him even further because he wants to do well. He wants to prove and make his friends just as proud.

etoiles who tries to be patient and tries to be kind and tries to help bad in his state of memory loss and confusion after purgatory, but still can’t help be suspicious of him. who works around how well he knows bad, because he knows bad is a liar, but he doesn’t say as much he just quietly puts in his own tests and precautions to gauge properly what level of fucked bad’s head is. who won’t stop reminding him of purgatory. does he remember the eggs? does he remember his home? does he remember how he slaughtered his friends ruthlessly over and over and over again? does he remember jaiden? charlie? does he remember how defenseless etoiles was when he stabbed him in the back? etoiles who knows how bad feels just by body language, who used to have the upmost respect and trust for his friend, his ally, his brother in arms - now holds him at arms length even at his most vulnerable.

something about etoiles asking what bad is hungry for, offering to fight (wanting to fight, now that the ground is even, now that he’s not defenseless, after bad had killed him when he was), and bad going “fight? why would I fight you, I thought we were friends?” and all etoiles can do is scoff. something about how even the most honorable and most patient have limits. something about how the consequences for bads actions - to himself and to others - are all finally compounding. how etoiles and bad’s relationship is forever changed by what happened in purgatory, and etoiles may still extend his hand to help him, give him strategies to remember things, but he’s doing so with a bitterness and a resentment.

things won’t be the same. things will never be the same. and the way etoiles can’t help bad without being sharp and angry about it proves this. because two weeks ago bad was family - and now, at bads worst, his most afflicted, most vulnerable, sure etoiles still offers help, and is more level headed than most about it, but he is in no means gentle or kind. he doesn’t want to help him. and that says everything.

#idk man. etoiles reaction not being ‘oh poor bad’ but being startled and then ‘oh of fucking course he’d just forget everything’ is telling #like we knew purgatory wasn’t gonna be forgotten. especially between red and bad specifically. but for it to show through etoiles first #to see etoiles genuinely bitter and resentful and taking no stock nor trust in what bad is saying or showing. yeah. Can I talk about how much I am loving Green Ninjas organization these last two days? The Big Boys login early and do all necessary to make everything easier for the ones who will login later, then Bagi and ElQuackity enters and are like the wild cards, they manage to do what is missing still, be it building, farming, being diplomatic (/j) or being a bait for a plan, then BloodHounds are here, and is all ready, they can focus on gear and enchantment, and be as prepared as possible for battle. Not to mention, Ironmouse who logged yesterday and right away was included in the plan and all the progress they made, and made a huge difference (finding apple sapplings).

And all the time, they're hyping each other for the smalliest things, even when one of them starts to thinks it's not helping that much, they're always "no, it's okay, you did enough, it's no problem if you died, you are helping still!"

And at the end of the day, all that matters is that they're having fun.

I don't see enough people talking about how sad Green getting eliminated is for what we lose from them, and all the wonderful moments that will be remembered from within their team

The funny motor boat rides with Quackity, Fit and Forever making the dumbest jokes and laughing their heads off

The dark humor jokes between Mouse and Etoiles

El Quackity's visits with the Eye and wondering when the shoe will drop when Forever becomes Judas, how it'll effect the rest of their team

Maxo and Forever getting to be on a team, having someone familiar from the old life there for you in this new Hell, an anchor to keep you grounded

Everyone looking out for each other, like when Roier and Mouse logged on sick

Having at least two of each language group (minus native English speaker) there to interact with each other while also being in this mixing pot of getting to interact with other people of other languages

Roier and Etoiles imitating and learning Bagi's "oxi"

Fit and Forever and their mischief and "big boy" and the wild moments that would somehow keep happening whenever they were together near boats

Antoine hilariously wanting to rip his hair out having to deal with a bunch of bloodthirsty PVPers when he's just trying to figure out where the Hell they are

The fun confusion at whether they're Green Ninjas or Gay Ninjas because it kept changing until it became Green Gay Ninjas, unequivocally and proudly Green Gay Ninjas

Bagi getting to spread her wings in strategizing and grinding, Fit being in his element fighting off intruders and heading attacks, them being able to do these things because the other does that vital work so they can thrive together, Quackity, Mouse, Bagi and Forever working so Fit, Etoiles and Roier can fight for them

Forever and Etoiles' impeccable dynamic and co-leadership that was incredibly fascinating to watch for how goddamn well they worked together

The absolute powerhouse that was the team with Fit, Roier and Etoiles in it, having that legendary reputation and being able to back it the hell up during PVP events

How it took time and work and a lot of stumbling in the beginning until they were finally able to create an effective team dynamic, supporting each other and taking turns doing what the others needed to have done, not having instant chemistry but creating a bond through sweat and work that showed their dedication to making something from what they've been given, from this little team they've got

The family forged in emerald. Team GGN. The Green Gay Ninjas of Purgatory.

thinking about the elections tonight... bad, cellbit, baghera, and forever are four candidates who are devoted to the island- more specifically, to the residents of the island. They care for the eggs, and they care for each other, and the way they exhibit that care through their primary presidential strategies is fucking fascinating.

Bad is who I watch the most, so I know him best. He's a classic mother hen. He doesn't like to take risks with the eggs, and he likes to prepare. If there's any sort of variable that could hurt an egg then he wants to control it. They have a stable relationship with the federation right now- it's not great, but they know the parameters. Don't trust cucurucho. don't follow cucurucho. send the eggs to NINHO every time there's a threat. the time of day changing means you need to run. Other than that they're p okay and roughly safe. But adding a president could potentially change everything. What if the president makes a rule that makes it easier to kill the eggs? And what about the way a president could cause tensions between the players to rise even higher? The dynamics of the island could change drastically. It's safer to neutralize that threat before it ever becomes a threat. It's easier to stop a war before it can start.

Baghera's primary concern is the way the election is designed to pit the residents against each other. All of them know that the Federation is a threat and she, like Bad, is focused on not letting them hurt more people. But, unlike Bad, she's less resistant to change. If the power is spread to multiple players rather than just one, it will be harder for the Federation to corrupt any one of them. Each time before the Federation has gotten to someone it's done so by isolating them. Felps, Cellbit, Jaiden- they've all spent a lot of alone time with Cucurucho. A council isn't just to consolidate the ideals of the island; a council would protect the players themselves. Sure, there might be disagreements and arguments, but they've had those before (and they're having them now!) and there's no reason to think they wouldn't be able to get through them again.

I hit a bit of a wall with Forever and Cellbit's pov here. Everything I know about their plans are from the debates and paraphrased discussions that have been translated here on tumblr, I'm going to talk less about their explicit plan and more about what the result will entail- a single president who takes responsibility for the island. It seems to me like they've recognized the presidential seat as the powerful opportunity that it is, and they want to take advantage of it. Here's some extra personal speculation but, adding rules, adding or removing mods, proposing public works, enforcing laws- those are just the abilities that are listed. Those are incredible opportunities to make the Federation take action, which is more than they've had before. We've seen before that the Federation isn't perfect; the Federation makes mistakes.

By working with the Federation, by making them take action (in a semi-controlled, semi-predictable way) you open them up to more opportunities for them to fuck up (while benefiting you). And, maybe, one of those fuck ups will be the key to taking them down. Maybe they could reopen ender chests. Maybe they could open the nether. Maybe they could learn why the Federation is holding an election in the first place. It's possible to do all these things with Baghera's plan, sure, but that's not a guarantee and, if someone like Bad is on the council, there's absolutely no way to be sure it would get done. And, if there's a council, then that opens up everyone on the council to the Federation's wiles. If there's just one president, then that's where the Federation's focus will be. By using a single person to build a relationship with the Federation, they only risk that single person. By electing ministers instead of a council, they can ensure that the island residents' needs are being heard while placing the federation's focus on that one person. A point can be made that they've done that before- with varying results. like kidnapping. selling your soul. etc. But! overall, I think they've gained more than they've lost by singling out one person. Because of them, we know that Cucurucho can't be trusted. We know that the Federation has a series of tunnels underneath the island. We know that the Federation not only has some sort of cryo technology, but had some unknown reason to use it. We know that there was another person working with Cellbit to take care of Felps (theorized to be ElQuackity), so we know there's at least one more Fed that isn't Cucurucho + blank-faced workers. There's been risk, but there's absolutely been rewards. This is just a very long meandering way to say that their plan to sacrifice Forever to the presidential seat reminds me very much of Cellbit's plan to sacrifice himself to the federation. They're saving their friends by potentially damning themselves and I, for one, think that is cool as hell.

they all care about each other so much. bad's plan means taking on no more risk. baghera's plan means spreading that risk evenly to stand strong together. and cellbit and forever's plan means taking the risk onto themselves so they can reap the rewards for others. am i reading too much into things? no this is tumblr and this smp is about LOVE and i really genuinely think that their election plans are a fantastic example of just how much they love each other

ok i do need to ask, do we like KNOW know that some egg admins have been playing as other silly npcs during this downtime or are we speculating. like i've seen people identifying admins with varying strength of basis since the eggs first existed but like. for a while there anytime an npc spoke portuguese everyone thought it was richas and then occasionally it would be agent 18 lmao so. . . are we doing that now or do we like Know lmfao

oh and to be clear i do mean varying strength; people were apparently spotting a leo admin's speech patterns earlier and since leo has such a distinct pattern (tho i'm not fluent in spanish LMAO) i'm inclined to believe that. but yea for a while people seemed to think portuguese=richas and to be fair there weren't many non-english npcs for a WHILE and really no portuguese besides richas (that we knew of) but it does mean i'm a bit more skeptical now when the audience starts trying to clock npc admins lmfao

We didn't know for sure before if the codes and the Federation worked together (I don't think). This is supposedly a Federation dungeon, or a dungeon with Federation stuff in it. This is a good way to see what the Federation expect out of Étoiles and how that works into what the Codes have been doing with Étoiles.

Something sad about Etoiles speaking so confidently to Pomme about how safe she is because ElQuackity talks a big game but doesn't deliver, is it doesn't account for the power of plot armor.

It doesn't matter how strong Etoiles is, or how weak ElQuackity is. If the story demands it, like when he wanted to kidnap Dapper, then it will happen. And Pomme is the only egg that ElQuackity COULD harm without permanently killing them, so Pomme is actually in the most danger of all the current eggs.
