I hope the “surprising actions” in Amanda’s recent tweet doesn’t involve a man between them ! I’m so scared now ! I know I shouldn’t freak out but now I saw people talk about it and I swear I’ll drop the show if a man is involve with them !!

For reference:

I genuinely think she interpreted the question as a potential spoiler in terms of cait/vi being together. Her intentions were pure.

I have had the misfortune of encountering too many awful discourse takes on the Internet, especially lately and within the Arcane fandom, so I think it has clouded my judgment as for my initial reaction to her response, but I've mulled it over. I'm more coherent now.

The "surprising" qualifier is throwing me off still, but I think it's her way of saying that the events in season two will divulge their true feelings and their story without the need for them to state what they are, or what they identify as. It will be done in a surprising way and she doesn't want to ruin it for us.

The surprise is not really about Cait and Vi getting together, but more so about how they get together. Christian and Alex have been vague over it as well. There's clearly something they're dancing around, but it's obvious Caitlyn and Vi being together is the end game - the big picture for them.

Realistically, I don't see a love triangle happening. Remember that the CaitVi romance is a storyline alongside the main one, which is about the war between Piltover and Zaun, the injustice and the inequality of the population in the undercity, Jinx inadvertently becoming a common enemy through the system failing her, Vi attempting to rekindle her relationship with her sister while navigating her own trauma. It's also about all of the other characters' journeys and how they affect the world around them.

Inserting a third piece within the context of Caitlyn and Vi would derail the story significantly and it wouldn't make sense. It wouldn't be cohesive. I'm not worried about it.

I'm just grateful there's an Arcane writer willing to share anything about the show and its characters at all. It was awkwardly phrased, perhaps, but I've chosen not to read too much into it from now on. It's much better for my sanity lol
