the implication that donna just became part of his life so quickly and so easily that he forgot to give her a tardis key because he believed he’d already done it makes me so ill

Hi I love the NSR Welcome Home AU so much! Question: are there any fun facts related to the character designs? Thank you!
Hi sweetheart! It warms my heart so much to hear that you love it, thank you so much😭
I work on each design a lot and I’m very very very excited to share some more info about them!
For now, I’ve posted only three designs and I don’t want to spoiler other members of the crew just yet, but I’ll update this post or make extra for each of the next characters that will be introduced !
I have to state one important thing:
All the genres that the characters are presenting were popular or were even created either in the early or late 70s
Julie and Frank are representing the late 70s genres, but it’s a much more important fact for Frank
He became a NSR charter way earlier than Julie. Furthermore, Frank was one of the judges on Julie’s first NSR audition
If we’ll make parallels with our world’s music history, the fact that his genre appeared in the moment when it probably wouldn’t exist in the exact kind of way Frank presented it, is the exact reason why he refreshed peoples view on music so much
The gray strands of hair, white contours in his design and the yellow butterfly are a huge tribute to Andy Warhol, who was the founder of the group "The velvet underground". This group partly belongs to the New Wave direction, but it mainly inspired me with the philosophy and the viewpoint on art that Andy Warhol had
That’s the first version of his design, I didn‘t change it much but still it didn‘t feel right and i was very upset about that:
Tumblr media
The one, THE ONLY, WITH WHOM I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I HAD TOO MUCH IDEAS… I was very concerned about saving details from Julie’s original design because I wanted to keep the charm of the canonical character
Julie’s design has some details that are inspired by Donna Summer, who gave a start to the genre Julie performs.
The main thing is that without the jacket her top quite literally blooms like a flower, the jacket just hold it while she’s rollerskating
Tumblr media
She takes off the jacket when she’s wandering or playing around her "castle"
I can’t help but also show the first drafts of her design. The skirt is my favourite even after I’ve made the final decision different bc the way how fluffy it is would be a little unpractical 😭
Tumblr media
Aaand the last, but not the least is Wally!
Honestly, his design is not as complex as the others. Mainly his design is based of disco fashion trends in the 70s that were portrayed in magazines or movies, and it doesn’t say much about his character. It shouldn’t though, as even in Welcome home there isn’t much information about him, but still he makes an impression of a kind, even comforting person. But when he’ll appear in the story of this AU for the second time, I’ll probably make his design more complex (Not saying he’ll be completely redesigned, but I’ll definitely think of other options of how he would look)
Oh! And also the red jacket he is wearing is the only jacket of his that isn’t stained with paint. He wears this particular one only on special events or auditions, because his friends made it for him and he will actually be freaking out if anything happens with this jacket
Tumblr media
I’m very sorry if I got slightly carried away while answering the question, but I’m very grateful for your interest in my au!
Have a nice day and be kind to yourselves!
Byeeeee~✨

So... seen the rumors about Superman leading the Authority? Feels like that would’ve been way more interesting with New 52 Superman. I hope they put Manchester Black on the team, I know you don’t dig him but I love him and Black interacting with Supes is always funny as hell to me.
It’s such an odd fit and I feel like it’s either going to be utterly genius or utterly ruinous. Not to Superman himself - if one half of that pair is going to be contorted to fit the others’ image it isn’t gonna be him, so the question is if they’re gonna come up with a good way to get Midnighter to stop killing, or if he won’t be there and therefore who cares (though I’ve heard very good speculation that Tim and Conner might become the new Midnighter and Apollo for this)? But the original take on the Authority formed in the first place as a continuation of the spirit of their worlds’ politically radical Golden Age Superman equivalent in The High, a crucial piece of context that’s often overlooked, and if whoever deals with this keeps that in mind while dealing with it and manages to reign in the obvious issues, it’s not at all impossible it could be really special. If they don’t, I can’t imagine it not crashing and burning hard. If I had to place a bet I’d say this might be where Scott Snyder lands post-Death Metal since DC’s clearly begged him to stay on in a prominent role now that DiDio’s gone and it feels very much in his wheelhouse, in which case...well, in which case it could still go either way. And Black absolutely sticks his head in.
Additional 5G thoughts as of the moment prompted by assorted talks with friends of mine:
* Batman #101 bringing in Grifter basically confirms Superman/Authority for me: Lee’s the big man now, he gets to declare his toys important again and give them another shot at development for mass-media. And lord, they must be kicking themselves about losing Orlando right now. “Whatever, that kid’s too weird and too queer, and besides, who needs him for Wildstorm shit when alongside Fraction and Zdarsky we’re gonna be able to kick this off with Warr-oh shit oh fuck oh no.”
* Speaking of Batman, BC’s absolutely blowing out its ass with “John Ridley Luke Fox Batman has been cancelled because Tynion’s run has been expanded!” for clicks. Tynion’s run has a tie-in Joker War one-shot Ridley’s writing a Luke Fox story for that has no reason to exist other than setting that up, but it isn’t as sexy to bring that back up and admit “it’s probably been pushed back or will no longer be the classic main Batman title now that 5G is its own imprint”.
* Along similar lines, I assume that not everything is literally going to take place in Metropolis like they suggested, but I am looking forward to Jon coming back from the future as the new main Superman to make it a literal city of tomorrow.
* Seems increasingly likely that the other ‘Gs’ will be getting their own titles after all; I could easily see Waid’s big project being a Superman title set before the marriage, and Teen Titans finally getting to be the endless tepid soap opera adventures of Dick and Wally and Garth and Roy and Donna and Victor and Koriand’r and Raven and Garfield that’s all anyone who’s bought a Titans comic in the last 40 years actually wants from it. Heck, they could do worse than to bring all the non-5G stuff under that umbrella. They could have their cake and eat it too played right: standalone stories of the platonic versions of those characters they want in one corner, versions that can age and change and progress in the other, with Black Label as an option for creators who want more substantive runs with the classic takes (god help us, White Knight might be a viable template there).
* Assuming the word that these are intended by WB proper as inspirations for future movies and other mass-media is accurate (and I think it very much is given the main word on the current big screen shared universe Batman is that they want to recast him as an old man about to pass down the mantle), downscaling it to an imprint made up of a few ongoings and probably a number of miniseries rather than the apparently originally planned comprehensive relaunch makes sense from that corporate perspective. They wouldn’t want 50 new books of wildly varying quality banging into each other waiting for decent long-term storytelling to spark, they’d want a bunch of curated self-contained standalone perennials designed for maximum ease of stripmining.
* No one seems to be talking about the additional rumor of “DC’s going to start selling its product in general through Walmart”, which if true would definitely be joined with this and also the biggest thing to happen in comics in decades. The problem is that biggest thing could mean “they market/structure it properly and frontload the good stuff and redefine the industry” or “they don’t and probably destroy the industry given the wasted resources that’d be poured into it”.

UHHH THE FIC I WISH YOU WOULD WRITE?? Deadass just.... roy and dick hanging out There is a severe lack of fics with them and i just live for your writing in general
thank you so much, that means the world to me 🥺🥺🥺!!! and ohhhhh that would be a lot of fun!!! and this isn’t a fic exactly, just a bunch of headcanons, but still let me preface by saying I haven’t read a lot of their comics so this would all be considered AU probably! AND THIS GOT SO LONG OH MY GOD im not sorry but WOW I got way off track lmao
I can see them doing a lot of different things lol, like when they’re younger I think they’d play hacky sack and arm wrestle and stuff but also I think there would be a lot of nights spent at one or the other’s place, laying under blankets with popcorn and their favorite movies on. I like the thought that either it’s a movie they both love, Their Movie(tm), or it’s multiple ones that only one likes and the other hates but can recite word for word bc they’ve seen it so many times. idk why but I’m picturing Stuart Little dkjfhkjdsah do w that what you will. I also don’t know if this is like a Thing or not but I love the idea of them together at galas. hiding under tables w their PSPs or DSes, trying to be quiet but everything is funnier there, and they overhear all kinds of shit that maybe they shouldn’t but THEY’RE BASICALLY 12 ANYWAY that’s almost a teenager and teenagers can watch R rated movies soooooo!!! and omgggg imagine the superheroing antics. when they’re training together, I think they’d throw trash talk around and at first they aren’t sure where to stop so some feelings are hurt. but the more they work together, the easier it is to tell what’s a joke and where the line is and stuff. they would absolutely practice their aim with nerf/water guns. someone says that they, the ones in the Titans without the powers, are useless and both get absolutely pissed because the other is SO IMPORTANT TO THE TEAM IN THESE WAYS *proceeds to list 27 reasons and doesn’t think to defend self*
when they’re a little older, like teenagers, I think they’d have a lot of fun working together on cases. they’d butt heads but eventually it would be kind of instinctual, like okay Dick will take the lead on this case and Roy will be in charge for this one, and they won’t have to think before doing something that depends on the other because they just know what the other is going to do before they do it. if that makes sense. across the room at Superhero Meetings, they’re making faces/mouthing stuff at each other making inside jokes. Bruce is like “can you please stop.” and they say at the same time, “I have no idea what you mean.” they spar a lot, and continue the time honored tradition of hacky sack and arm wrestling when they’re bored. they always go to each other for advice. when one of them needs a break from life, they just show up at the other’s place. (Ollie, many times: “Bruce? Yeah your gremlin is here. ... Yes I called him a gremlin what are you gonna do about it. My son is making him feel better. ... We’ll have him home by tomorrow afternoon.”) and Dick definitely, 10000% asks Roy if he’d like to join the Titans again, and is sad when Roy says no. they also know exactly how the other likes a lot of foods, like Dick likes his coffee w tons of milk/cream, and Roy likes Hawaiian pizza, and how much is Too Much Mustard, etc etc
as for when they’re adults,,,,,,,,,, this is kind of dumb tbh but them just??? sitting together in silence/quiet music? doing paperwork? they’re not talking or anything, but they aren’t alone either, and once they’re done they’re going to hang but didn’t want to wait???? I love that. I love them having sleepovers as kids, not so much as teens, and then having them again (bc they were comforting, and bc they trust each other so much, and bc they want to stay up all night eating pizza and playing chubby bunny again). speaking of, they meet up and eat pizza together sometimes. I can decide if it’s better like, they’re in disguise? they’re obviously themselves? they’re in costume??? idk I love all of it. they have Shows and they probably try to go on missions together bc Roy is NOT waiting 2 months to watch the next episode absolutely not. they prank each others’ siblings, and by that I mean I’m picturing Roy and Connor (Conner? idk how to spell his name I’m sorry dkjfsdahh) hanging out and Dick pranks him in a way that Connor would IMMEDIATELY assume was Roy, but Roy is right there. within sight the whole time. (C: “what is this bullshit, a shapeshifter?”)
when they’re like ADULTS adults... training kids together and reassuring the ones without powers that they’re just as capable, and cracking jokes that got old TWENTY YEARS AGO, DICKOLAS. (Roy is still laughing tho. don’t be fooled.) leading the Justice League together I’m 🥺🥺🥺 and ugh oh my god I’m having parents feelings lemme just
obviously they raise Lian together lmao this isn’t a question. holy fuck imagine them tucking Lian into bed at night. reading/telling her five stories (even tho Roy says 2 is really enough, but she just loves the voices they make and how Dick acts stuff out so muchhhh she doesn’t want it to end) before going to bed themselves. staying up to lay on the couch, on top of each other, and be like “WOW she’s adorable but I am so exhausted.” again w the shows but it’s always reruns of like Fresh Prince. they have a stash of food Lian can’t eat, like sugary cheat stuff, and sit at the table holding hands while they eat them. they are the most embarrassing parents ever oh my god they go to as many of Lian’s school events as they can and take videos and actually go back and watch them??? even though they were there??????? Donna comes over and is treated to a viewing of every single award Lian has ever won, which are displayed on the walls. I also have this headcanon Roy has to get glasses when he’s older, like in his 40s, and I think Dick would spend a lot of time helping him look for them lmao. please also imagine them dying their gray hairs together. standing in the bathroom, shirtless, laughing at how silly they look and also how the gray looks REALLY GOOD are you sure you want to dye it. I’m also losing my shit at the thought of them having chairs like !!! this is so domestic but there’s Roy’s Chair, which is soft and has a high back and pops out/reclines so he can chill, and there’s Dick’s Chair which is softer/fluffier, wider and smaller in the back, and it doesn’t recline but it does have huge armrests bc Dick sits sideways so he can look at both Roy and the TV. (they sit in these chairs with their grandkids and fall asleep in them all the time and they are perfectly apart so that they can hold hands comfortably.)
I’m also having NSFW ideas as well but this is already so much?????????
send me a “I wish you would write a fic where…”!!

What books do you recommend me to read?
I’m not sure what your tastes are but I’ll tell you some of my favorites! To be quite honest, I mainly return to the same books over and over again so the list is rather short and I doubt I have anything to recommend that you won’t have heard of already. I’ll recommend my favorites. It consists mainly of my usual rotation of things i read over and over or books that left an impression on me and I refer back to them often.
When it comes to the non-fiction section just like….keep in mind that most academic texts have many, many problems and I’m not presenting any of the texts I list as The Quintessential Must Read Best Flawless Overview of a topic, I’m mainly listing the books I have found to be approachable and reasonable introductions to topics. Read everything critically, always (and that includes everything else on this list, not just the non-fiction).
Plays:
An Oresteia, translated by Anne Carson (Aeschylus’ Agamemnon, Sophocles’ Elektra, Euripides’ Orestes)
Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides
I mean like. Shakespeare, obviously; my personal favorites are Hamlet, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, Julius Caesar, and Macbeth; recently, thanks to the productions starring David Tennant, Much Ado About Nothing and Richard II have been added to the list
Doctor Faustus, Edward II, and Dido by Christopher Marlowe
Antigone, particularly Anne Carson’s translation, and after you’ve read Antigone, I’d recommend reading Antigonick, but not before
Lysistrata by Aristophanes
The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (I feel like Lady Windermere’s Fan is also kind of necessary reading and I do love it of course but I’ve only read it the once, for the sake of it, whereas I’ve come back to the Importance of Being Earnest a million times and the 2002 movie is one of the things I watch when I’m down)
Novels (and Epics)
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett if you haven’t yet, obviously
Maurice by E. M. Forster
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
VIRGINIA WOOLF. everything but particularly the Waves, Orlando, and Mrs. Dalloway. The Waves is my favorite, followed closely by Orlando, but I’d start with the Mrs. Dalloway because it gets you accustomed to Woolf’s writing style and the way she approaches her characters if you haven’t read her before.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (If you haven’t read it yet and you have seen 2005 P&P and love it and you’re opening the novel with the expectation that it’s similar to the 2005 film in tone and feel, you’ll be disappointed. If you’ve seen the 1995 miniseries, that reflects it very well. So just approach it with an open mind with 2005 on the back burner and you’ll find it an amazing and very repressed love story)
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh
When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore
The Iliad (the translation I own is Lombardo. It’s extremely approachable and colloquial and I enjoy it, and if you’ve never read the Iliad and you find it intimidating, I would very much recommend it, but my high opinion is not universal. Fagles and Lattimore are very popular translations and I like them both well enough)
I’m dying to get a copy of Emily Wilson’s Odyssey translation. I don’t love the Odyssey personally but I am a big fan of Wilson and from what I’ve read about her translation and what she’s said about it, if anything could make me enjoy the Odyssey, it would be that translation.
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I would personally recommend reading the Iliad first just because Miller takes…….liberties with it, but I also don’t think there’s a problem with that at all, so if you’re not interested in the Iliad, or you think tsoa would get you interested in it, there’s nothing at all wrong with reading it on its own or reading it first. I just think it’s a genuinely more enjoyable experience to read the Iliad first and then see what Miller does with it. And regardless of what order you read them in, if you read them both you will understand how very different tsoa and the Iliad are from one another and you will not be one of those people who talks about the Iliad when what they mean is tsoa. Again, there’s nothing wrong with tsoa, it’s one of my favorite novels, but it’s just a very separate thing and it gets just a little maddening.
Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson. It’s both poetry and a novel but it’s got to go somewhere so
When I was 14 I got very into Les Mis and i will recommend it. I genuinely love it and it will always have a special place in my heart. I have read the entire brick only once however because as much as i love it. as much as i Relate to the infamous off-topic tangents. there is a limit to my patience.
The Epic of Gilgamesh is just like. extremely good. I really don’t know enough about it to recommend any specific translations; in high school I was given a stapled copy of the whole thing and I read that til I lost it and now if I want to reread it or refer back I just look it up online. I’m a fake fan.
Poetry
If Not, Winter: Fragments of Sappho translated by Anne Carson
The Beauty of the Husband by Anne Carson
Devotions, Felicity, and Winter Hours by Mary Oliver. Those are the anthologies that I have read and I adore them. I imagine that all of her anthologies are also amazing and all of them are on my to-read list. I don’t think you could possibly go wrong
I do not have the singular published collection of Elizabeth Siddal’s poetry (My Ladys Soul) but I have read all of her poetry and she is an amazing poet and I hold her very near and dear to my heart
Crush by Richard Siken
Useless Magic by Florence Welch……..yall knew what you came here for
Songs of Innocence and Experience by William Blake
Non-fiction and Essay Collections (again. None of these are recommended as the definitive, end all, be all, all-you-need book on any given subject, they’re just some of my favorites). I have limited myself to collection specifically because this is long enough already and if I start just adding essays it’ll never end. All of these were either purchased online for under $10, are available somewhere on the internet as pdfs, or were at my library, so if you look, you can probably find them somewhere (I say this bc while trying to find the authors of some of these I have been stunned by their retail prices and I’m assuring you, don’t be scared off by your initial search bc I sure as fuck did not pay $30):
Citizens: A Chronicle of the French Revolution by Simon Schama
Marie Antoinette: the Journey by Antonia Fraser (controversial but well-researched and approachable and I love it. I would recommend reading like. almost anything else first because Fraser does obviously focus on Marie Antoinette and her life and experiences; and while she does talk about the revolution, it isn’t the focus of this biography, and you won’t understand why it was necessary if you don’t come to it with a good grasp on the broader events outside Marie Antoinette).
A Day with Marie Antoinette by Hélène Delalex
Robespierre: a Revolutionary Life and Liberty or Death: the French Revolution by Peter McPhee
The Black Jacobins: Toussaint L’Ouverture and the San Domingo Revolution by C.L.R. James
If you’re at all interested in 18th century art, I recommend Rococo to Revolution:Major Trends in Eighteenth-Century Painting by Michael Levey
A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn is controversial. But it’s approachable and well-researched and if you don’t know a lot about American history, I recommend it highly (especially for Americans).
Eros, the Bittersweet by Anne Carson (okay literally everything by Anne Carson. All her essays, her poetry, her translations, her weird mashups, all of it. There are a few things I haven’t read yet but. I very much doubt you’re going to be able to go wrong, so just take what I’ve listed as my favorites)
This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate and the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein
Black Against Empire: The History and Politics of the Black Panther Party by Joshua Bloom
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: and Other Lessons from the Crematory and From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to Find the Good Death by Caitlin Doughty (also the illustrations by Landis Blair are absolutely phenomenal. Look at this. I love it so much I pulled it out of the book to hang in my momento mori corner because it’s so beautiful.)
The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan
Alexander of Macedon by Peter Green is. okay we have a love-hate relationship, me and this biography; me, and peter green, but I have major issues with every single Alexander biography I’ve read and this was the first so if you want to start somewhere, I guess go for it.
The Empathy Exams by Leslie Jamison
The Honey Bee by James L. Gould. It’s out of date in some respects but a good, simple introduction into honeybee biology and behavior
Before the Deluge: A Portrait of Berlin in the 1920s by Otto Friedrich
Vanishing Bees: Science, Politics, and Honeybee Health by Sainath Suryanarayanan and Daniel Kleinman
Out of the Past: Gay and Lesbian History from 1869 to the Present by Neil Miller
Holy Madness by Adam Zamoyski isn’t by any means perfect, but it’s a alright introduction to the Age of Revolution. Just don’t let it be the only thing you read. It’s here because it has a special place in my heart as my introduction to it.
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Erotic Exchanges: the World of Elite Prostitution in 18th Century Paris by Nina Kushner
Radical Love: Introduction to Queer Theology by Patrick S. Cheng
Our Lives Matter: A Womanist queer Theology by Pamela R. Lightsey
Our Native Bees: North America’s Endangered Pollinators and the Fight to Save Them by Paige Embry
At the Existentialist Café by Sarah Bakewell (I really do not know that much about philosophy or existentialism specifically or this subject generally, so I have no idea where the faults of this book are, but I really enjoyed reading it and it made me think a lot. I have a feeling it’s very simplified so take it with a grain of salt as I did?)
Walden by Henry David Thoreau (just. just. it’s enjoyable but don’t get too into it please for the love of God). My copy (and I think most copies?) includes his essay Civil Disobedience as well which is very good.
Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave by Ona Judge
The Uninhabitable Earth by David Wallace-Wells
The Diaries of Virginia Woolf: I’m currently in the midst of volume 2 (1920-1924). They’re very enjoyable, but they’re something of an undertaking as all diaries are if you aren’t already very familiar with the biography of the person in question, so like. If you find yourself moving slowly don’t worry about it.
Gay Berlin: Birthplace of a Modern Identity by Robert Beachy
To Be Broken and Tender: A Quaker Theology for Today by Margery Post Abbott
The New Jim Crow byMichelle Alexander
The Environmental Case: Translating Values into Policy by Judith A. Layzer is a textbook that was assigned to me in my Enviornmental Policy class last semester and I really fkcing enjoyed it. It’s a book of case studies in environmental policy and it’s dense at times, but really interesting and enjoyable.
The Second Amendment: a Biography by Michael Waldman
Michelangelo’s Notebooks: the Poetry, Letters, and Art of the Great Master by Carolyn Vaughan. Just like. Genuinely. Genuinely. unintentionally hilarious. but also sometimes very sad, and very gay. I just adore Michelangelo. Just a shy foul-tempered repressed disaster. Jesus Christ.

✧ [ SOFIA CARSON, 17, SHE/HER ] IS THAT AMELIA BONES SPORTING SLYTHERIN COLORS ? THEY’RE A PUREBLOOD WHOSE KNOWN FOR BEING + ENERGETIC & + DAUNTLESS BUT CAN ALSO BE - INDULGENT & - DOGMATIC. WONDER WHAT SIDE THEY’LL FALL ON? ❞
CHARACTER INSPIRATION: buffy summers, donna paulsen, lexi branson, juliet o’hara, leia organa, sara lance, peggy carter, michaela pratt, caroline forbes, veronica mars, lissa dragomir.
okay so i usually play amelia differently, but i decided to go a slightly different route this time and highlight a different part of her personality than i typically do
because usually i have her as a hufflepuff, but i feel like in different time periods she would have a different mindset and way of thinking, so the main change from my typical portrayal is that i’m highlighting the slytherin in her.
amelia grew up in a very close-knit family — to the five of them, family was one of the most important things. her parents instilled this drive within her, this hardworking nature, one that valued integrity and honesty and loyalty above nearly everything else. the family as a whole had this ability to light up a room with their smiles, command a crowd with their stories, and lead when leaders were needed. they were warmth, they were laughter, they were compassion.
theodore ‘theo’ bones played quidditch professionally for years ( as a beater for the falmouth falcons ) before an injury put him out of commission and forced him to retire from the team. he’s a really talkative dude, the type to have flown around their backyard and encourage amelia to jump off and onto his broom at just the right time. a huge storyteller who loves having experiences to share, was a gryffindor.
cordelia bones ( nee rowle ) is a journalist for witch weekly and is known for her bombastic events and galas that she helps organize with them. a quieter woman but extremely social nonetheless. she was a hufflepuff.
edgar bones, older brother by four years (ravenclaw), followed by a sister that’s younger by six.
the bones teach their kids that one of the most important things in life is to stand up for what you believe in but……they’re kinda hypocrites bc catch them not doing that when it comes to the war. they’re a pureblooded family, not of the sacred 28, but they do feel as though they have a certain reputation to uphold as a family in good standings with all people. they’re the ones participating in the spiral of silence that cultivates a culture where the death eaters can thrive but that’s neither here nor there
amelia’s a slytherin but it’s argued that she could have been in hufflepuff or gryffindor as well ( lol just wait for the character study post to come on amelia + hogwarts houses )
on the exterior amelia seems like the type who has it all together --- she’s top of her class, member of as many organizations as she can get her hands on, spent her summer interning in the auror office, and overall a happy social butterfly of a girl. but she really doesn’t. doesn’t mean she’s about to let that show though. if you witness amelia in a moment of weakness, it’s because she wanted you to.
she’s a very composed girl in the sense that she knows how to carry herself around others and can keep a firm hand on her more negative emotions.
all in all she’s a powerhouse!! knows what she wants and how she wants the world to be, isn’t naive to the darkness within everyone. everyone just needs to learn how to work despite it for the good.
destined for a future in the auror department --- she wants greatness, so greatness she’ll become. she’s currently working hard to prepare for graduation and auror academy applications.
hand in hand with her drive and ambition is this insecurity that she’ll never be enough. not pretty enough, smart enough, quick enough, social enough; that she’ll always fall second. it’s part of why she works so hard for everything.
huge activist --- she knows when to keep things to herself and be quiet, but she’s very much the type to be vocal about her beliefs. the kind of girl who would be thrusting fliers into your face about various events and participating in sit ins and the like.
arguing with her is like arguing with a wall when she thinks she’s right, queen of long-winded debates
bisexual as hell
has a hero complex
insomnia city
could eat her weight in nachos
would die for edgars’ kids, no tea just facts
leaves sticky notes all over the place bc otherwise she’d forget things
lowkey stressed at all times, is that picture of the broken bottle of stress relief lotion
