Power II
Katie McCabe x Reader
Summary: You put Katie in her place
Tumblr media
Katie was really toeing the line now.
A win against Chelsea under her belt and suddenly she was drunk off the feeling of victory.
That always made her act out a bit and you looked up at her from under your lashes as you sat in her cubby.
The whole locker room was celebrating.
Usually, you wouldn't venture in here but she had been insistent, dragging you inside in a way that really puffed her up to her friends.
You could forgive that though.
You always gave her a bit of leeway when she was celebrating. Not too much though and she was really getting closer to you snapping at her.
"Y/n!" Kyra crowed from across the room," My zipper's stuck!"
You sighed fondly at the girl, getting to your feet to fix her coat for her.
A half-eaten slice of pizza hung from her mouth as she struggled, trying to force her zipper down and you tutted.
"Give me a moment, Kyra," You told her," I don't know how you got it this stuck."
Kyra was sat in her cubby and you had to lean over to wrench the extra fabric out from her zipper.
You'd just got it free when you felt a slap to your ass.
You shrieked a little bit at the shock of it before whirling around.
Katie was grinning, looking back at her friends to check if they saw but her smile dimmed when she saw the pointed look you were giving her.
You stepped closer, enough for the team to not hear your words as you spoke them directly into her ear.
"That's strike one," You said," Keep pushing me and I will put you back in your place, Katie."
"Babe," She stuttered out," It was just a joke."
"And that's why it's only your first warning."
Strike two came when you were on the bus. Usually, you would drive yourself to Katie's games but she had insisted on having you on the team bus with her, sat in her lap.
She was still talking to Leah and Lessi and you knew the moment Leah mentioned partaking in certain celebrations when you got home that Katie would feel emboldened again.
Her hands roamed and you let them.
They were mostly under the table where the other girls couldn't see.
A squeeze of the thigh.
A teasing drag of her leg against yours.
Then her hands got higher and higher until she was squeezing one of your breasts in one hand.
Your shifted a little bit, tilting your head to once again speak into her ear.
"Second warning. One more Katie and I swear to god I will put you in your place in front of all of your little friends."
Katie's hand dropped.
There wasn't another incident until you all got back to London.
You were walking off the bus when Katie, having been teased somewhat by Leah, pulled you into a downright filthy kiss in public.
There was cheering behind her and you decided in that moment that Arsenal was just frat house masquerading as a football club.
You also decided that Katie had run out of warnings so, as she slipped her tongue into your mouth, your hand shot out to grab her neck.
She faltered.
"What?" You said," Is something wrong? You love when I squeeze your neck when we kiss."
"B-Babe," She said, chest heaving, torn halfway between being ridiculously turned on and embarrassed beyond belief.
"What? I thought you wanted to kiss me in front of all of your little friends."
"I'm sorry."
"Uh-huh. You will be." You pulled away but kept a tight grip on Katie's neck, raising your voice so everyone could hear. "Now, go and say goodbye to your friends. Nicely, Katie, and then we'll go home."
"Er...yes..."
You released her and off she went to say goodbye, face burning red as everyone stared with open mouths at how obedient she had become.
You couldn't resist though.
"If you hurry up then I'll break out that big strap you like and we can work on you taking it all."
Her face burned brighter.

imagine in modern day if you could sit on Foul Legacy's lap and play games on your laptop while he watches over your shoulder,,, he chirps curiously at everything at first, nudging your shoulder when he sees something potentially interesting, but as you go forward together he becomes more knowledgeable and helps you with gameplay by pointing out things you missed or trilling out warnings if you're in danger.

not good, not bad, just different (leah williamson x ADHD!reader)
Tumblr media
disclaimer: this is based off of my personal experience of ADHD. this is in no way saying that this is what adhd looks like for everyone!!
a/n: based on this request! i hope you like it, i'm sorry it's so all over the place but that also felt pretty thematic so... hopefully it's okay. i'm planning on doing 1-2 more parts to this! the next part will be about the reader getting diagnosed and coming to terms with their diagnosis + telling the other lionesses about it. also if you're interested in more WLW football based fiction involving ADHD, read Cleat Cute by Meryl Wilsner!
------------
You had always felt… different. Not in a ‘not like other girls’ kind of way, more like an ‘I don’t understand what’s wrong with me’ kind of way. Things just seemed to be so much harder for you than for everybody else.
As a teenager, you were constantly getting told off by your parents for your messy room and bad grades. You were a smart kid, they said, so why couldn’t you just do your homework and study for tests like everyone else?
You would ask yourself the same thing. Forcing yourself to sit at your desk, staring at your maths textbook, desperately begging your brain to just cooperate, just this once, not understanding why it was so hard to just do the work.
When your parents would come into your room you would instantly feel a flash of white-hot shame at the state of it. Clothes everywhere, rubbish you’d forgotten about in corners, plates, cups, half empty water bottles. You couldn’t help it, it was like once something was out of your line of sight, you just forgot it existed, like the plate of half-eaten food that you’d put next to the bed at some point and then had absent-mindedly pushed under the bed to get it out of your way. When you found it weeks - okay, months - later, you were so embarrassed by the mould that you secretly threw it away rather than take it downstairs to the kitchen, where anyone could see it.
You would forget things you knew you should remember, things that anyone else would have remembered, like weekly tutoring sessions that your parents paid for (something they reminded you of when you forgot, yet again). You felt so stupid. It was at the same time, every Wednesday after school, so why couldn’t you remember?
Or doctor’s appointments, dentist appointments, any kind of appointment really. You would write it into your calendar, set yourself a reminder on the day, set yourself another reminder 30 minutes before, and all that would happen is that you would swipe away the reminder thinking ‘oh, yeah’, and then you’d continue doing whatever you were doing before. It was only when you’d hear the phone ring that you’d instantly know it was about you, about the appointment you’d missed, or maybe it was from school, or maybe something else you’d just completely forgotten about.
And all of that wasn’t even taking your issues with human interaction into account. You’d always struggled to make friends, especially as a girl who liked football. When you hit 9 or 10, the other girls in your class started to grow more interested in talking about boys, or music, or tv. You couldn’t understand what they found so interesting, that they’d rather spend breaks just sitting around chatting to each other when they could be running around playing football, or some other game, or anything more exciting.
As you got a little older, though, you realised that it was clearly a ‘you’ problem. People at your secondary school were nice, for the most part, but you still struggled to make friends. When you’d accidentally interrupt someone, or start talking too much and too loudly in excitement, or fidget a little too noisily, people would give you looks and whisper to each other about how weird you were. You learned to sit on your hands to stop yourself from clicking a pen or tapping your fingers, to keep quiet to avoid saying the wrong thing or saying it the wrong way.
Football was a good escape. It was fast-paced enough that you didn’t have time to think about other things, and there was enough going on that your brain wasn’t looking for external stimulation. You’d always been observant, noticing things most people wouldn’t notice, and you used it to your advantage. You were quick with the ball and you seemed to always know where everyone was around you. You were so good, in fact, that you made the England U17 squad - something you’d hoped would make you seem a little cooler at school, but just added to your ‘weirdness’.
That time was far behind you now, though. Now you were in your twenties and not only played football professionally, having joined Arsenal when you were 19, but also played for the England senior squad, one of the Lionesses.
That’s not to say that you didn’t still struggle with things. Your apartment was a mess, you lost things constantly, you would still interrupt people and fidget. You had friends though, at least. If anything, people knew what you were like and they loved you for it. It became a running joke on match days that you would inevitably lose your shoes, or your shin pads, or your phone, or that you’d need to borrow a hair bobble from someone. Everything would always show up right as you started to panic, though. Your shoes would be in the bathroom, because you’d been holding them when you went in to go to the toilet before the game like you always did. Your shin pads would be in the pockets of your jacket, one on each side, so you wouldn’t lose them.
“Looking for this?” Leah would ask, pulling your phone out of her pocket and smiling at the look of relief on your face.
“Yes! Where was it?”
“On the bus. You left it on your seat,” she explained.
“Huh. That doesn’t sound like me,” you joked.
“Nah, that definitely doesn’t sound like you,” she would say with a wink.
So, yeah. Maybe you had a reputation as the forgetful one, and the messy one, and the chaotic one, and the distracted one. But that was just who you were, right?
---------
Okay, you knew you were here for a reason. There must have been something you were going to get from the prep room, that’s literally the only reason you were there. You mentally went through everything you needed; shoes, on your feet, jacket, wearing it, headphones, in your pocket, water bottle - fuck, that was it! Your bottle!
You grabbed it from the bench where you’d left it and headed back out. On the way you needed to pee, so you quickly went to the bathroom, washed your hands, and went back to the training pitch.
“Did you get your water bottle?” Leah asked, a quizzical look on her face as she looked at your empty hands.
“Fuck,” you sighed. “I had it. Where the fuckety fuck did I put it?”
“Y/n, come on! Training started 5 minutes ago!” one of the trainers called over. You felt a white hot flash of shame in your belly, heat rising to your face.
“Do you want me to help you look for it?” Leah asked.
You shook your head, looking down. “No, it’s fine,” you muttered. “Let’s just start training.”
After training, Kyra came over to you in the changing room.
“Here,” she said, holding out your bottle. “I found it in the toilets, on the sink.”
---------
After that you made a list. You stuck it to the inside of your cubby, and every day you would look through it, double checking everything before you left the room. It helped for a while, until you started seeing the list as part of the background and your brain started ignoring it.
When you went to international camp, it got worse. You were away from your routine, in an unfamiliar environment. At least the people you were with was pretty much the same as always. As nice as it was to see everyone though, it was draining, too.
“Y/n? What do you want?” Leah asked. You were on a rare night out, the whole team at a restaurant by the beach together.
“Huh?” you asked, frowning. At a table nearby, people were singing ‘Happy Birthday’, cheering, clapping. On the other side of you, someone was having a conversation - it sounded like they were on a first date, but that didn’t make sense, you were in Spain, they sounded English, why would they be on a first date here?
“What do you want to order?” Leah asked again, prompting you. The waitress stood there, looking at you expectantly, notepad in her hand. A light flickered somewhere in the corner of your eye.
“Oh, um, I,” you stuttered, looking at the huge menu in front of you. The people on the date were talking about what kind of things they liked to do on holiday, she liked to go sightseeing, he just wanted to relax, at another table a baby started crying, the ice in people’s glasses was clinking, knives and forks were scraping against plates, that song you’d had stuck in your head for days now was still playing on a loop in the back of your head, your leg was bouncing uncontrollably under the table, someone’s nails were tapping against their phone, the man was telling the woman that the whole point of holidays is to relax-
Leah’s hand on your knee made you look up from where you’d zoned out looking at the menu. The waitress was gone. Leah was looking at you with a concerned expression, her hand steady on your knee.
“Do you want to go outside, get some fresh air?” she asked calmly.
You nodded wordlessly.
With a hand on your arm she guided you outside the restaurant, taking you to a nearby bench to sit down. The breeze cooled the sweat on the back of your neck, making you shiver.
“Are you cold?” Leah asked, reaching for her jacket.
“No, no, I’m okay,” you said, breathing in deeply. You knew you should just go back inside, suck it up, smile at Leah and say everything was okay, but you just couldn’t yet. You just needed a few more minutes.
You sat there in silence for a minute. It wasn’t a bad silence, but you could tell Leah was giving you space to talk whenever you felt ready. You didn’t want to talk about what had just happened though, you felt too embarrassed about getting overwhelmed like that. Everyone else was fine, it was just you who couldn’t handle it.
“The people at the table next to us, I think they were on a first date,” you said instead, looking at your hands.
“Yeah?” Leah laughed.
“Yeah. But, like, why would they be on a first date here? They sounded English, why are they on a first date at a restaurant in Spain?” you asked.
“Huh, I dunno,” Leah mused. “Maybe they’re both on holiday and happened to meet and decided to go on a date?”
“Maybe,” you nodded. After a few seconds of quiet, you sighed. “I’m sorry about all that. I just got… there was just a lot going on.”
Leah squeezed your knee. “It’s okay. It was busy in there, wasn’t it?”
You nodded again. “Yeah. My brain just couldn’t handle it all. All the noises, and the menu- oh, fuck, I didn’t order anything!”
“It’s okay,” Leah chuckled. “I ordered for you.”
“You did?”
“Yeah. A sandwich and chips. If you don’t want it I’m sure someone else will eat it,” she shrugged.
“I didn’t even notice you ordering for me,” you frowned. “I feel like something’s wrong with me.”
“Wrong with you? What do you mean?”
“I don’t know, I- I feel like something is wrong with my brain,” you tried to explain, not knowing how to put it into words.
Leah frowned.
“It doesn’t matter, I’m making a big deal out of nothing,” you said, suddenly feeling awkward and embarrassed. “Let’s go back inside. Everyone is probably wondering where we are.”
“Wait, y/n, we can stay outside for a little bit longer,” Leah said.
“No, no,” you stood up quickly, not meeting her eyes. “Let’s go. I’m okay, I promise.”
———
It didn’t take long for Leah to corner you the next day, determined to talk to you..
“You seem distracted,” Leah said, sitting down next to you on the bench. “More distracted than usual, I mean.”
“Ha, yeah,” you said. “It’s kind of ironic, actually. I’m distracted because I’m distracted.”
“Right…” she said, frowning. “You’re distracted because you’re thinking about why you’re distracted?”
“Yeah,” you sighed, trying to think of how to word it. “We all know I get distracted easily, right?”
The blonde nodded. “Yeah, you’re like a magpie or something. You see something shiny, you gotta pick it up. Except the shiny thing is literally anything that catches your attention,” she laughed.
“Exactly! Well, I was looking some stuff up online, or, no, I saw some stuff online, wait, let me start again,” you said. “My thoughts are moving faster than my mouth. Okay, so, when I was a teenager, I was on tumblr a lot. It was the only social media I really had. And on tumblr I’d see a lot about people with ADHD and autism and about hyperfixating on things. And I’ve always kind of hyperfixated on stuff - I mean, football, obviously, but other stuff too, like how on my days off I’ll binge watch an entire season of a TV show and then not shut up about it for like, a month straight, and then I’ll lose interest and basically never mention it again.”
“Or like when you decided to start playing guitar and bought a guitar and had 2 lessons and then stopped, or like when you got really into gardening for a few weeks and bought all those plants and seeds and books about gardening and then realised it was the wrong time of year for half the things you wanted to plant?” Leah asked, an amused look in her eyes.
“Huh. Yeah, I guess those count too,” you said, frowning. “So, yeah, I hyperfixate on things. And I’ve only ever seen it mentioned together with ADHD and autism. But I always thought wow, that’s so crazy that I do that but I don’t have either of those!”
“I feel like I know where this is going,” Leah smiled.
“Leah, what if I do have ADHD? I don’t think I have autism, I mean, I might, but I haven’t really looked into it yet, maybe I should-”
“One thing at a time, okay?” she laughed, putting a hand on your arm. “Y/n, we both know I am in no way qualified to tell you if you have ADHD or not. But I know you very well. We’ve known each other for what, 5, 6 years now? And it would not surprise me in the slightest if you have ADHD.”
“Really?” you asked, incredulous. “What makes you say that?”
“You mean, aside from what I just mentioned?”
“Well, yeah.”
“Last night? At the restaurant?” she gently reminded you.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I may have also read up on the topic a bit. I kind of suspected you might have ADHD, but I didn’t want to bring it up until you did,” she explained, not meeting your eyes. You felt something flutter in your stomach at her confession. “Anyway, one of the things I read was that people with ADHD also struggle with overstimulation and sensory issues. Do you think that could be what happened last night?”
“Oh,” you said, suddenly quiet. “Maybe?”
“I’m sorry if I overstepped, I just-”
“No, no, it’s okay! It’s just a lot to take in.” you told her. Your mind was racing, thoughts splitting off into dozens of other thoughts, some fully formed and some nothing more than singular words or phrases.
You sat together in silence for a few minutes.
“What do I do now?” you asked Leah, your voice small. “I, um, I didn’t think I’d get this far. You’re the first person I’ve told, and I kind of expected you to tell me I’m being silly.”
“I would never say that,” she said, turning to look at you, her eyes fixed on yours. “I wouldn’t say that about something important to you, I promise. And as for what to do now, well, I guess you have a few options. You can keep going as you have been, and do some more research, if you want, and try to figure it out alone. Well, not alone. You’ve got me. Or you could speak to someone, a professional. See if your hunch is right.”
“And then?”
“I dunno, I guess that’s up to you. I suppose they’d be able to help you with coping mechanisms, or put you on medication, if that’s what you wanted,” she shrugs.
“Medication?” you asked. Your mind was full of pictures of hyperactive kids, bouncing off the walls. You propped your feet up on the bench, pulling your knees in close to your chest. “What if I’m wrong? What if there’s nothing wrong with me and I’m just being dramatic?”
“Then that’s okay, too,” Leah said firmly. “Then you’re just dramatic, but that’s okay, too. I promise.”
You nodded, resting your chin on your knees.
"Would you be able to help me find someone to talk to? I don't know how, or where, or, anything, really," you asked.
"Of course," she said, putting her arm around your shoulders and pulling you in close. "I'll help in any way I can."

Needy November
Alexia Putellas x fem!reader
a/n: pretend i’m not two months late…
Tumblr media
“C’mon capi, join the bet. Ingrid and I are doing it!” Mapi exclaims, continuing to try and convince her captain to the challenge.
“For the last time Maria, no.” Alexia shakes her head and proceeds to pack up her kit bag. She found the whole month's dare stupid and meaningless, especially when it meant holding off one of her favorite things.
“Ah, I see. You’re too scared that you’re gonna lose. I bet you’d crumble and fail within an hour.” The tattooed girl smirks, egging on Alexia which seems to be working. Alexia is never one to lose a challenge, so hearing people say she’d fail, she’s going to prove them wrong.
“How much are we talking?”
“Bebe, I’m home!” Alexia’s voice echoes through the house, but once she notices the nicely lit candles and rose petals on the ground, she decides to quickly look for you.
Making her way around the home, she still has no clue as to where you are. She finally makes her way to the bedroom, and when she walks in, hands cover her eyes from behind which makes her jump but ease down when she smells the familiar scent of your perfume.
“Surprise.” You whisper in her ear, leaning up to reach. Removing your hands, you make your way in front of her and smooth out your outfit. Her eyes trail down her body and her mouth opens slightly in awe.
“What is all this?” She asks breathlessly, hands finding their way to your hips while yours loop around her neck and mess with her baby hairs.
“I thought I’d surprise you. I didn’t have anything to grade or check over today, so I came straight home and set this up. You and I have hardly had much time together since the season started, and I wanted to make time. So here we are.” Smiling, you lean in for a loving kiss. Alexia melts into your soft lips but pulls back way too soon for both of your liking.
“No no no no, I can’t.” The taller girl groans as she runs her hands down her face. She keeps them hovering over her eyes so she can’t see you in your outfit. If she keeps looking, she would pounce and have her way with you, but lose the bet.
Your hands grab her wrists and pull them away from her face, but her head tilts up towards the ceiling. “What is going on, baby? You’re really confusing me right now.” You nervously chuckle at her weird behavior.
“I made a bet with the girls.” She trails off, still avoiding your gaze.
“Oh no-”
“I can’t have any sex this month.”
“What!”
Alexia winces at your sudden rise of tone. “I know, I know. It was so stupid to accept. I should have just left.” She groans, still keeping her eyes off of you.
You let off a small huff and race through your thoughts. Technically, the team wouldn’t even know if she failed the challenge, she’d just have to lie. You grin to yourself and return your hands to her neck, rubbing up and down sensually. Alexia’s breath hitches when you press a few kisses on her jawline, knowing what you’re trying to do.
“Y’know, the girls don’t have to find out. We can have all the fun we want and still win the bet.” You whisper in her ear, attempting to help her give in. You pull back slightly and tug her earlobe between your teeth, making her eyes roll slightly in pleasure.
“No, that’s cheating which makes me a loser.” She suddenly takes a few steps back, shaking her head ferociously while pacing around the room.
“So you’re saying no to your half-naked girlfriend because you’re too stubborn to lose a bet that you got yourself into?” You question, quirking your eyebrow at her.
“Si.”
Her deadpan answer makes you scoff and groan at the same time. She probably didn’t even consider what she’d be taking away from you when she accepted the bet, so you’re going to try one last thing in hopes of changing her mind. You approach her and lightly run your fingertips down her chest and to her stomach, causing the Catalan to look anywhere but you.
“Ale, be serious for a second. You can pretend this stupid little game doesn’t exist and do whatever you want to me. You can bend and flip me into any position then fuck me-“
“La la la la! I can’t hear you!” Alexia covers her ears, shouting like a little kid and closing her eyes to end your temptations. Groaning loudly, you stomp into the bathroom to get your robe and calm down.
After a minute, the brunette peeks her eye open and sees you’re no longer in the room. She lets out a breath in relief but frowns when she takes in how much you did for her only for it to be ruined.
Walking over to the bathroom, she knocks lightly against the door. “Amor? Are you okay?”
She moves back when the door swings open, revealing you with your hair up in a messy bun and your body dressed in an oversized shirt with shorts. Her eyes follow your figure as you blow out all the candles, confusing her as to what your mood is. You can either be angry or just meh. Once you’re done, you walk back over to the taller girl and place a kiss on her cheek.
“I’m not mad, Ale. I guess it’s my fault for being in a relationship with a stubborn captain who can’t ever lose.”
“Hey!”
Three weeks in and Alexia has been miserable. Her body aches for yours, to touch you and to be touched. You on the other hand have been okay. Of course, you’re constantly craving Alexia, but you can still get off by yourself. It’s hard, but it’s one way to relieve yourself.
Alexia has been off the past week due to tweaking her knee, so she has to sit out for precautionary purposes. She still goes to training to see the girls and fulfill her captain duties, but today she decided to stay at home with you. It’s the weekend so you don’t have to worry about going to work.
You decided to take in your time off and enjoy yourself with a book in bed while Alexia busied herself in the living room, most likely watching football games. You’re embracing the silence of the room until the door creaks open and a body slams itself onto the bed.
The Catalan sighs, trying to get your attention but when you don’t pay her any mind, she sighs louder. You continue to flip through the pages of your book, purposely ignoring the girl’s advances. She crawls up to your body and places her head onto your stomach then trailing her hands onto your waist, just where your shirt rises and shows off your skin.
It starts as innocent as she rubs her hands up and down, massaging at your skin but soon turns more sinister when she places kisses below your belly button. Her fingers hook onto your shorts in an attempt to pull them down, but her advances are stopped when you slap at her hands.
“Amor.” She whines, looking up at you with your nose still stuck in your book. She huffs in annoyance and slides her body up, poking her head between the gap of your arms, now resting her head on your chest.
When you continue to pay her no attention, she begins to trail kisses across your jaw and down your neck. Her teeth start to sink into your skin right before you slam your book shut, making the girl jump in shock.
“Baby, I know you’re needy right now, but you need to stop.” You say sternly.
“Oh bebe, I know you want this just as much as I do. Let’s get naked, si?” She grins as her nose brushes along the underside of your jaw.
“Ah, no.” You push her off your body and onto the other side of the bed.
“C’mon, bebe. Don’t you want me fuck you with the stra-“
You quickly place a hand over her mouth and say, “You dug this hole, Ale. You gotta get yourself out of it. I’m not gonna give in just because you want it this time. You wanted to win so you’re going to win.”
Alexia buries her face into a pillow and lets out a few noises of aggression before getting up to head back into the living room. You shake your head in amusement and reopen your book, continuing from the spot you were interrupted by.
The Catalan shouts from another room, “I guess I’ll have to occupy myself because my girlfriend doesn’t love me!”
“Don’t you dare, Alexia Putellas Segura!”
It’s finally November 30th. Alexia is in the locker room, bouncing her leg up and down in anticipation of tonight. You’re both definitely going to be staying up until midnight to make up for the month’s time.
“Got somewhere to be, capi?” Patri asks, noticing the girl’s antsy behavior.
“Yeah, to her girlfriend so she can finally shag her tonight,” Mapi smirks when Alexia glares at her. “Don’t you think I know? Ingrid and I are both excited too, right bonita?” Ingrid rolls her eyes at her girlfriend who is waving her eyebrows up and down.
“It’s your fault I am even in this mess.” Alexia glares at the tattooed defender who in return holds up her hands in fake defense.
“You’re the one who agreed to take part in it, amiga. I didn’t force you.”
The two bicker back and forth until Ingrid interferes, stopping both of them much to the team’s dismay who find their arguing amusing. Ingrid rushes Mapi out the door to get home and rest as soon as possible from the rough training while Alexia decides to do the same.
It’s around 10 at night as she walks through the door. Just like a few weeks ago, there are flower petals on the ground and candles lit around the house, but now there is soft music playing and you standing in a new lingerie set with two flutes of champagne.
Alexia drops her bag onto the floor and quickly makes her way over to you, taking one glass out of your hand and into hers before wrapping her free arm around your back, pulling you into a steamy kiss. After a while, you both pull away to catch your breath with swollen red lips and blown-up eyes.
“Um, we still have two hours so I thought we could watch a movie for the time being. Can’t let you lose now.”
“That’s so long though.” Alexia whines but stops when you slam your lips against hers.
Pulling away you whisper, “Maybe we can make out during the movie, y’know, set the mood for the hours of stolen time we need to redeem?”
“Someone had a good night!” Lucy howls at the love-sick smile and glow that has been plastered on the captain’s face since she arrived at training.
“Mapi, pay up!”

don't tell Leah
Tumblr media
barca femeni x platonic reader :)
based on a request that i changed a little
r has a panic attack at practice, and her teammates help her out. lioness!reader + alexia, lucy, and keira
Playing for Barcelona was a dream, by anyone's standards, and you knew it. You had the opportunity to play with the best in the world, doing the thing you loved more than anything.
This didn't mean that you weren't insanely nervous, though. You'd always been someone who struggled with nerves, but they had noticeably intensified in the past few months. Moving from England to Spain at only 19 would be a lot for anyone, and you noticed it take a toll on your stress levels.
The season was about to start, and you were staring down your first match in the famous blaugrana uniform. Everyone at the club had been nice and supportive since you'd arrived, going out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They teased you for being young, but they always made sure you alright. Lucy and Keira especially, knowing you from the national team where you had also made a young debut, kept a close eye on you.
So, when Jona gathered everyone at the last practice before the first game and announced the starting lineup, everyone cheered and high fived you when he said you'd be starting. You were shouldn't have been surprised; you'd been training well, and the team had several injuries keeping people out. Still, you felt the color drain from your face at his words, but you tried hard to keep cool. You didn't want anyone to think you couldn't handle it. Jona sent everyone off to start their gym session, and you distractedly made your way to weights.
Your brain was working in overdrive, every possible way this could go wrong flying around in your head. You were walking slowly, when a hand on your shoulder startled you out of your thoughts. You turned to find Alexia looking at you with a concerned expression on her face.
"Are you okay, chica?" she asked.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good," you responded, forcing a smile onto your face. Alexia nodded, but didn't look so sure as you turned away from her and kept walking.
Alexia had surprised you with how kind she was; she seemed so intimidating, so serious, at a distance, but she was a very sweet person once you got to know her, and she took her job as captain very seriously, meaning she always took time to get to know new players. You weren't acting quite right, and she noticed.
You walked to your station of the circuit that had been set out, back to being completely distracted. You didn't notice as Ingrid came to stand next to you, your partner for the workout. You were losing your grip, and fast.
What if you messed up? What if you got an own goal? What if you got hurt? What if you hurt someone else? What if you got a yellow card? Or a red card? What if you played so horribly, everyone would realize what a mistake it had been to sign you?
Your breath was speeding up, and you felt disconnected from the world around you, as if nothing was real.
"Y/n?" Ingrid called quietly, noticing that although you hadn't yet touched the weights in front of you, you were breathing hard and fast, like you'd just run a couple sprints.
"Need a sec," you managed to gasp out, slipping out the door and walking quickly to the locker room. Ingrid looked around, noticing that no one had really noticed your departure, except for Alexia, who was had been watching the whole thing. Alexia walked over to Ingrid, a questioning look on her face.
"What happened?"
"I'm not really sure. She seemed distracted, and she was breathing really hard even though we hadn't started yet, and then she just took off." Ingrid replied, looking at the door through which you'd disappeared. Alexia tilted her head towards the door, and Ingrid nodded. Without saying anything else, they exited the room quietly, making their way down the hall the the locker room.
As they got closer, they could hear your gasps for breath, and they sped up. They entered to find you hunched in a little ball at the foot of your locker, head tucked tightly against your knees. It was clear to both girls what was going on.
Alexia turned to Ingrid, speaking quietly. "Go get Lucy or Keira, fast."
Ingrid nodded, turning on her heel and retreating back the way she came. Alexia remained, approaching you slowly.
"Hey, y/n, can you hear me, cariño?" She asked comfortingly. And you nodded your head jerkily against your knees. Alexia sat down next to you, leaving a little space in between you both.
"That's good. Are you having a hard time breathing?" she asked, even though it was evident that you were. Again, you nodded.
"Okay, that's okay. Ingrid's getting Lucy or Keira. Is there anything I can do?" She asked, unable to sit next to you in such distress and do nothing. You didn't respond immediately, thinking it over in your head. It sounded like she really wanted to help. So, you extracted your hand from where it was wrapped around your leg, and shakily extended it toward's Alexia.
Alexia gripped your hand tight in hers, running her thumb along the back in circles, hoping to bring you some comfort. You held onto her like a lifeline, whole body trembling as you fought to bring enough air into your lungs. You heard a pair of footsteps approaching, and soon, someone was setting a hand on your back.
"Y/n? You with me, buddy?" Lucy asked, sitting down on your other side. "We've gotta take those deep breaths, remember? Can you try with me?" Without waiting for a response, she was tugging your other arm away from you, and placing it over her chest. "With me, okay?"
You felt the steady rise and fall of her chest under your hand, and you tried to match it, you really did. It wasn't working though, and as Lucy's attempts to help you failed, you only grew more panicked. Lucy shushed you softly before speaking.
"Don't freak out, you're okay. Do you need your inhaler?" Lucy questioned, and you nodded frantically, but remembered it wasn't in your bag. Keira had made you give her an extra, though, and you tried to tell Lucy all of this in between gasps.
"Kei- has one- in her bag-" You stuttered. And you felt Alexia's hand leave your grasp as she presumably moved across the room to get the inhaler.
It wasn't something you needed often, only when you were really anxious, had a really bad panic attack. It had happened once at an England camp, and you'd forgotten your inhaler at home, which Leah was not happy about, at all. Since then, she'd carried an extra, and she'd made sure to tell Keira and Lucy not to let you anywhere without one, even though you'd only used it a cumulative three times in the past three years.
Alexia returned quickly, handing the inhaler to Lucy, who uncapped and shook it. Alexia resumed her place by your side, hand finding yours again. You clung tightly to her, as Lucy tried to get you to lift your head off your knees.
"Come on, buddy, help me out here a little," she stated, though not unkindly, nudging your exposed cheek with her hand. You lifted your head slightly, and her hand came up to grab your chin, tilting it up. Your eyes met hers, and she hated how scared you looked.
"Open... deep breath in... hold... okay, breathe out," Lucy said, talking you through the very practiced routine. She took you through the process twice more, and you could feel your lungs relaxing. With every breath, you drew in more air, until you didn't feel like you were minutes away from dying anymore.
You leaned your head back against the locker, shutting your eyes tightly as you felt your heart rate slow back down. Lucy waited a minute before speaking.
"What happened?" She asked, knowing you didn't have panic attacks for no reason.
"I'm starting tomorrow," you whispered, "just kind of freaked out."
Both girls nodded in understanding.
"Does this happen a lot?" Alexia asked, your hand still in hers.
"No," you replied, pausing. "A little more often since I moved, but still not all the time."
Alexia looked at you for a minute. "You tell us if it gets worse, yes?"
"Promise," you replied, bringing your head back down to send her a reassuring smile. Lucy was silent next to you, and you could feel the disapproval radiating off of her. Just as you were about to call her on it, you heard the sound of fast footsteps in the hall, and Keira was racing into the room. She looked surprised to see you calm.
"What- Ingrid said you were- and that-" She spluttered, looking between the three of you.
"I'm good, Kei," you started, but were interrupted by a scoff from Lucy. You looked at her, annoyed, while Alexia turned to her, confused.
"You wouldn't have been fine if Keira didn't have one of your inhalers," Lucy said, frustrated.
"You didn't bring your inhaler, y/n!" Keira scolded, and you rolled your eyes.
"I got a new bag and forgot to move it over. It's not a big deal."
"It would have been a big deal if you had suffocated." Lucy mumbled.
"I wouldn't have suffocated! At the most, I would have passed out, woken up, and been fine." You replied, embarrassed that they were being this stern in front of Alexia.
"I'm still telling Leah," Keira said, uncharacteristically serious.
"Don't you dare, she'll kill me!" You said, not really believing that Keira would tell your captain.
Keira opened her mouth to respond, but Alexia interrupted her. She looked amused at the three of you, but her tone still rang with authority, like it did when she wanted to be taken seriously.
"Do you have another extra?" Alexia asked. You nodded. "I want one for my bag. Just in case," she said, and you groaned. Keira and Lucy grinned triumphantly, and Alexia's lips lifted into a smile too.
You thought you'd escaped the overprotectiveness when you'd left England, but apparently it was still thriving here. Or maybe, this was just how the team operated; always looking out for each other.

the one that got away
Tumblr media
alessia russo x reader
second part to regret. had a lot of fun writing this and might do more polls if i can’t choose for myself again. also, ignore how many times rory’s age is asked. didn’t realize how many times i wrote it in.
part 1
———
“Gather ‘round girls!” Jonas’ voice brings Leah back to the present.
Everyone comes together at the middle of the gym, waiting for what Jonas is gonna say.
“Just wanna welcome everyone who was in Australia back and also our ACL squad. We’re all glad to see you all up and running.” Everyone cheers and claps. “Now, I wanna welcome our new signing, Alessia Russo.” Alessia walks towards the group awkwardly, not wanting to trip.
“Hi.” She gives a small wave.
“Don’t be shy Lessi. We’re all friendly.”
“Yeah! We don’t bite!”
Over the course of the week, Alessia gets situated with the team and the dynamics, learning how to play with her new team.
“Mrs. Russo, someone’s been calling your phone. It’s says there’s ten missed calls.”
“From who?”
“Amore Mio.”
Everyone’s attention is now on Alessia, all curios about the girl’s significant other, judging from the name that the trainer said that was shown on her phone.
“Hi, love. What happened? So, she’s fine. Yeah. Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I love you. See you later.”
She gives her phone back to one of the trainers, telling them to inform her if you were to call again.
“What was that all about?” Katie asks in her usual loud voice.
“Oh, sorry. My daughter got hurt at preschool.”
“Wait. Hold up! Daughter? You have a daughter?” She didn’t know who asked, but saw the rest of the team walking closer to her.
“Uh, yeah.”
“How old is she?”
“She’s three now.”
“And I’m guessing you didn’t carry cause you’ve not really took a break from football.”
“Nope. Won’t be carrying any babies in me. Freaks me out a bit, but my wife happily did it.”
“So you have a kid and a wife and none of us knew about it?”
“No one really knows. We wanted to keep it to ourselves. I didn’t want the public knowing and plastering their face in the media yet, and we like our little bubble.”
“Not even Tooney knew?”
“Oh, Tooney knew. She had to give the best friend talk and all that. Wanted to know her opinion before anything turned serious and now we’re four years strong, three of them married.”
“So, when do you think we’ll meet ‘em?”
———
“Are you sure you’re ready for this?”
“Not really, but have to be. I’ll be seeing a lot of her more since you’ve transferred.”
“It’s been five years too, she’d probably moved on, yeah?”
“Don’t know Lessi. I hope so. Now let’s get little princess dressed.”
“I’ve already dressed her, babe. Just waiting on you.”
You looked at her skeptically.
“You? Dressed Rory?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Alessia asked, offense written on her face.
“Nothing bad, Less. Just, you turn her into a mini me every time.”
“And she loves it every time. I love when the two of you match. My favorite girls.
“And when this baby pops out of me, no doubt he’ll be a mini you.”
“I won’t be outnumbered this time.”
———
“Sorry, I’m late. Kid ran away while I tried getting her in the car.” Alessia explained, walking to where everyone was gathered in the backyard.
“You’re fine. Now, who is this little one?”
“Wanna say your name bubs?”
“I Rory. I dis many.” She says holding up three fingers.
“Woah. That’s a lot of fingers.” Your daughter giggles.
“Did that wife of yours come?”
“Yeah, she probably went to the—”
“—Sorry. I had to go to the washroom. It’s nice to meet you all. Name’s—”
“—Y/n.” Leah finishes, shocked, voice shaking.
“…Hi, Leah.”
“You two know each other.” Katie asks, intrigued how the skipper knew you.
“Uh, yeah. We used to be close friends.”
“No. She was my wife.” You could’ve heard a pin drop from how silent everyone was.
“Okay. Woah. There is a lot to unpack here.”
“And they can do it privately.” Alessia intervened.
“You know about our history.” Leah turns to Alessia, hurt all over her face. She was close to the girl, being on the national team together and the whole time she was in a relationship with her ex-wife.
“Of course I do. She’s my wife.”
The dinner was pretty awkward for a bit after the interaction. Rory have been playing with some of the other girls, you staying by your wife’s side getting to know her teammates.
Eventually, Leah got the courage to go up to you.
“Hey, uh, do you think we could talk?”
You look up at her, seeing the nervous look on her face.
“Sure. Honey, help me up.” Alessia grabs ahold of your hand and the other on your arm to stabilize you. “Let’s go inside.”
You go to little sitting area in the corner of the living room, away from everyone, but not out of sight. There was a couple seconds of silence, very awkward silence.
“Are you just not gonna say anything?”
Leah apologizes. “Uh, how’ve you been?”
“Doing pretty good.”
Another awkward silence.
“I’m sorry. I don’t really know what to say. I’ve had five years to practice what I was gonna say to you if I ever would run into you, but it just slipped my mind. But I guess I wanted to apologize and say that I took you for granted. I don’t deserve your forgiveness at all for being distant, lying to you about where I’ve been doing or going… for, uh, cheating on you. I’ve hated myself the second it happened.”
“Why’d you do it?”
“What?”
“Why’d you do it? Was it something I did that made you go to another that you should’ve gone to me for or—”
“—No! God, no! You did nothing wrong, it was all on me. I don’t really have an explanation as shitty as it sounds.”
“It’s been five years and I do forgive you. I think I forgave you the moment I met my wife. I needed to close the door on our relationship to be able to truly love her how she should be loved, so I forgive you. Doesn’t mean that I’ll ever forget. But you are forgiven.”
“Thank you.”
Before anyone can say anything else, your daughter runs to you, climbing into your lap.
“Hi, Mommy.”
“Hi, baby. You having fun?”
“Yeah! Stephy and Kya (Kyra) pway with me.”
“That’s so sweet of them.”
Leah watches your interaction with your daughter, a sad smile on her face.
“How old is she?”
“Hey, Rory. This is Mama’s teammate Leah. Can you tell her how old you are?”
“I free!” She holds up three fingers towards Leah.
“Woah! You’re so big! And you have a little sibling on the way. Can I ask how far along you are?” The question directed towards you.
“I’m five months along. It’s a boy.”
“Congratulations.”
“Thank you! Well, it’s been great catching up with you Leah. I’m glad you’re doing well.”
Leah watches you walk away, your daughter on your hip, towards your wife who was chatting up with a few teammates. She watches Alessia grab Aurora from you, giving you a smile and a kiss, seeing the love you two have.
Maybe in another life, one she hadn’t screwed up on , that could’ve been you and her, but she was just glad that you have someone who lived you the way you deserve to be loved.
Now, that she got everything out of her chest, she would be able to move on, but you’ll always be the one that got away.

I haven't seen any posts about this yet but l've seen some fan art that makes me feel this needs to be said:
Don't forget Leah Sava Jeffries has darker skin when making Annabeth Chase fan art!
Tumblr media
She is much closer to Lupita Nyong'o than Zoe Kravitz when it comes to shading, reflection, and complementary color usage :).
Lighting for dark skin is different on light skin. Light skin gets changed by lighting, and dark skin reflects the lighting. Below is a lovely shot of Nyong'o's character from Wakanda Forever in mourning. The filmmakers emphasize the umber qualities of her skin in contrast to the funereal white and (arguably harsh) light across her shoulder below.
Tumblr media
Try to pick spots that aren't directly in or near the light, and try mixing 3 or more! You can put it into a color mixer online, or even color pick, lower the opacity, and lay the shades over each other until you find one that fits. And of course, the more 'realistic' you want to go with shading and lighting, the more shades you're going to want to be able to explore vivaciously :D.
Let's take a look at the same 3 beautiful actresses I mentioned at the beginning, with a bad color picked area and a better-ish color picked area. (Please keep in mind, these are not perfect comparisons, as I was not able to find pictures of all 3 actresses under the same kind of lighting.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kravitz's has a clear difference between the two, but they aren't too far apart, in comparison to Nyong’o’s and Jeffries’s. Note the dullness in the poorly picked shades as opposed to the better ones. Also keep in mind that while Kravitz has a rosy undertone (at least in that picture - it’s from The Batman, which has stylized coloring) Nyong’o has a slight cool undertone (I can’t pin down quite what, but the picture is definitely not stylized like Kravitz’s).
Jeffries runs more ochre or russet, but neither of those are pink. They are more red than terracotta or umber, but to call Jeffries’s face rosy would be wrong. Err more towards the golden when drawing her.
Tumblr media
^^saved an image from a writing tutorial long ago, but can’t seem to find it. If someone recognizes it, I’ll link it. EDIT: it’s from this post. Thanks @autumnrowancollector ! <3
And also, the darker skin gets, the less likely warm undertones are going to appear. Don't be afraid to use blue or purple or even green on occasion!
Additionally, cool lighting on dark skin is always a win imo.
Tumblr media
(I was going to use that picture of Jeffries as Annabeth by the lightning bolt, but then I realized the lighting on her face doesn’t quite match up with where it should hit from that angle, and I realized they kind of just turned everything bluer, so screenshot time!)
(Also if you want another really great live action example, check out anything Aldis Hodge is in, like Leverage and Black Adam)(and of course there’s Spiderverse <3 but I want to post pictures of Hodge)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, to here’s a list of more experienced people’s advice:
Black facial features & hair
Shading digitally for a (somewhat) monotone Black character
Stylistic choices and places to start looking for inspiration (besides a search engine).
Coloring Black people’s lips
A better coloration tutorial
Also a nice tutorial for Indigenous skin tones, just in case yall want to draw Piper or use this information for other dark skinned characters :).
EDIT: Some actresses who are closer in skintone to use for Annabeth, provided by the lovely @blackfemmecharacterdependency ! If you can’t find a reference for Jeffries in a specific lighting, maybe check out these ladies’ pictures! It’s a reblog, so scroll down.
TLDR: Don’t make Annabeth pink and pale, make her dark and golden.

dog park
Leah Williamson x Reader
Tumblr media
hope you enjoy!
p.s ACLs don’t exist in this reality
————————————————————————
Thankfully, for the third time this week you were able to let everyone go home early. To go enjoy the ends of their day instead of being stuck in the office.
This also made you quite content cause you were able to go for a walk in the warmer than usual London weather, and take your dog with you. The poor dog that sits around your house all day while you are at work.
You quickly packed up your things and were driving through the city’s peak hour, eager to go home and grab your dog to take him to the dog park before the sun went down.
It took you longer than expected on the road, so you just pulled inside. Staying in your white button up shirt and jeans and grabbed your dog and his leash. You changed into white sneakers that were at your front door and deciding on just driving to take your dog to the park.
You found a little bench as you slightly smiled at the image of your dog running around in front of you. “Yeah go Bub ” you said to your dog at your feet before throwing his tennis ball far.
Before your dog could run and catch it another dog managed to grab it and start running away, your dog chasing after it.
“Sorry” a voice slightly laughed behind you. You turned around to find the most beautiful blonde you had ever seen in your life,
“No they are just playing” you giggled
“Yeah” she said folding her arms and watching the dogs.
“What breed is that?”
“My dog?”
“Yeah” you said
“Oh she’s a cavaliar”
“Cute” you smiled softly, keeping your eyes on both of your dogs playing together
“I’m just gonna guess you have a retriever there” she nodded towards your big blonde dog running around
“Uh yeah thats Molly”
“Aw. I’m jealous”
“Why” you laughed turning to her. She shuffled up to stand next to you instead of slightly behind you
“Cause she’s a golden retriever. A dream dog mate”
“Yours is adorable stop. What’s her name?” You smiled at the blonde next to you
The girl didn’t speak for a moment. Eyes fixated on your face for longer than she thought. “Oh Bella”
“I love her” you said in awe as you noticed her running towards you guys, then running up to you before you crouched down to her level. “Hi Bella” you said in your annoying dog voice. Your dog immediately attacking Bella’s owner now.
You both got up and dusted the shed fur off your clothes. “I’m Leah” she said smiling after folding her arms again to keep warm.
“I’m y/n” you grinned and nodded back
“Beautiful to meet you y/n, hey what’s the time actually?” She said motioning to the watch on your wrist.
“Uh five to five”
“Shit how is it five already. I have to be somewhere soon and I have to walk. Bella come girl!” She said quickly pulling Bella’s leash out of her back pocket and clipping it on the small dog
“Nice to meet you” you said and smiled as she got up to leave
“You too! Hey you come often?” She slightly yelled, because she had started to quickly walk out of the park to be at her plans tonight.
“Yeah most Afternoons” you smiled
“I’ll see you around” she grinned before turning around and starting to Jog with Bella beside her. You smiled to yourself. Leah was a very pretty girl.
“Come on Molly” you yelled before your dog heard the sound of her name and sped up towards you.
—————————————————
It was a Saturday which meant, you hadn’t been to the office thankfully, you knew you would have to do some small things for your company tonight. But you were now enjoying your weekend, alone in your home.
You were in your car on the way back from the mall, after treating yourself to a few new things. The London traffic continued to piss you off even when you weren’t working that day. After being stuck in a line of cars, you banged your forehead on the steering wheel with a groan.
When you got home it was slightly later in the afternoon than you had hoped. But you decided it wasn’t going to stop you from doing the walk to the dog park instead of driving.
Opening the gate to the dog area, you took off Molly’s Leash to go find other dogs while you slowly walked around the park. When you sat down on a bench, an older man who you found quite adorable made conversation about how beautiful your dog was, a conversation which you happily carried on.
While talking, you noticed your Molly playing with a familiar dog, the chocolate coloured dog that happens to belong to the beautiful blonde you met here two days ago.
After the older man next to you finished his next sentence. You quickly exused yourself saying you needed to check something on your dog, which sounded plainly stupid.
You wouldn’t lie if you said you felt bad about leaving the man to sit by himself, but you also wouldn’t be lying if you said you were eager to come across Leah.
You found a girl with a ponytail and matching blue sweats, hunched over her phone sitting at a bench.
“Do you also come often” you said walking up to her, probably seeming like a creep, you feared.
“Oh hello you” she said shutting of her phone, her charming words making your heart want to melt.
“I saw Bella and wondered if Leah would be here” the fact you remembered even her dogs name and her name from two days ago, made her face warm up.
“They are both here” she smiled up at you, “wanna sit?” She asked motioning the spot on the bench next to her.
“How close do you live to here?” You asked, again trying not to sound weird.
“Ugh I walk and that’s about 10 minutes. It’s up that way” Leah said pointing to the streets to the left of the park. “What about you?”
“20 minute walk. Same way” you smiled, motioning towards the same direction Leah pointed to a moment ago. You sat in silence for another moment, watching your dogs become actual good friends. “So Leah what do you do?”
Inside, she hated being asked that question sometimes, just when it was someone she found quite intriguing and beautiful. “Um I’m a footballer”
“No way. What club?” You said now facing her, now extremely interested in the girl
“Um Arsenal” she said slightly laughing, in her head she didn’t know why she did that and suddenly got nervous.
“Are you pissing me?” You asked, quite shocked that she just mentioned that she played for the club you had been passionate about since you were born.
“Nope” she blushed “I play for the women’s team there, WSL”
“No way!” You said excitedly “do you play for England?” You asked
“Yeah I captain the women’s team there too” she smiled at you charmingly. You did not expect her to say yes to your question.
“Huh!” You exclaimed, understanding what she was saying. Just so shocked.
“I don’t know if I should feel happy or like not” she laughed at your reactions, furrowing her eyebrows.
“No happy duh! I love football, only played when I was young but like Leah that’s like wow”
“That’s great-“
“Shit you won the euros!” Now remembering hearing about the Lionesses. You knew who the team was, of course you did. You didn’t know the players though.
“Yeah we did” she grinned, very wide.
“Sorry I knew who the Lionesses were I swear. And the Arsenal Women. I just didn’t know anyone on the teams. Sorry that’s not very feminist of me, I should know” you said quickly, making Leah laugh. The wife smile not leaving her face.
“It’s not your fault. More people should know about women’s football”
“I agree. And It starts with me and watching the games” you said as you both laughed.
“And what do you do” she said lightly tapping your shoulder, the tingle it sent through your body not leaving for a while.
“Umm Im a CEO of my architecture company” you said, eyes now on the dogs far from both of you
“Dang woman, that sounds big. Your successful it seems” she said smiling, eyes and body facing you on the bench as you nervously kept yourself fixated on what’s in front.
“Coming from the England Captain”
Your own success did make you proud of yourself you won’t lie, and like Leah, you liked telling people what you do. But sometimes got strangely nervous, especially around beautiful girls.
You pair didn’t realise how long you had actually been sitting on the bench talking about anything and everything. “I should go and see what I’ll do about my dinner” Leah huffed slowly getting up.
Leah wanted to ask for your number. She really did.
But as usual got way too nervous.
“Yeah I’ll head off too” you smiled at the slightly taller girl.
“Hey you all good to walk back? I drove so I could always drop you home or something” Leah asked before wanting to slap herself at her probably stupid words
“Oh no I should walk back I’ll be ok. Thank you Leah” you said sweetly.
Leah was kicking herself. She immediately felt you thought she was just trying to flirt with you the whole afternoon. Which she wasn’t…trying to.
When you got home 20 minutes later, you quickly showered before heating up left overs from last nights meal. You sat down on your couch, Love Island UK on the tv in front of you as well as your MacBook, hopping on the internet to find out some more about Leah’s teams. You wouldn’t search up the girl directly, you found that weird and creepy.
Plus, you would much rather hear all about her from Leah herself.
—————
You finished work later than you had hoped one night. But still remember you promised to go for late-night ice cream with your best friend Stella. Once you got home and changed into something much more comfy and warmer than your blazer and suit pants.
“One scoop Chocolate please” you smiled at the teenage boy serving Stella and you.
“Cup?”
“Erm cone please” you said politely. After he handed you the desert and you paid, you waited for Stella to order her’s when a group of women walked in. All in matching red hoodies.
Leah’s eyes immediately fell onto your side profile that hadn’t turned to her and her friends just yet, her heart warmed slightly when she realised it was you, the girl from the dog park, the one she blushed to her teammates about.
After you had noticed the group of girls, all walking in laughing from something an Irish girl was going on about. Your eyes finally fell on the certain England Captain. You smiled and shyly waved at her.
She waved back before one of her friends pulled her to choose flavours.
You folded your arms in warmth as you and Stella walked out of the small store, taking a seat at the tables outside.
“Sorry I didn’t fully see. But did you just wave at the girls in the Arsenal hoodies?” Stella asked curiously
“Um yeah I know one of them, Leah”
“You know who sorry-“
“Leah Williamson” you smiled as you played with the spoon in your hand
“Fucking Leah Williamson?!” she clarifies, showing on her face her shocked expression.
“Yes I see her when I take Molly to the park. She’s great to talk to actually” you said before your spoonful of ice cream back in your mouth.
“Please get with her” Stella mumbled
“What” you said
“I’m joking. But she’s really really pretty. Get to know her. She also you know like won the euros, plays for Arsenal and is huge. Do you even know these things?”
“I’ve seen her four times in my whole life firstly. And Yes I do-“ you said before the bell of the shop’s door rang as Leah and her friends piled out of the store. She stopped where you were sitting whilst her friends found a table.
“Hello you again” she said smiling warmly down at you
“Hi. Guess we do live pretty close” you slightly laughed
“Yes we do. How you been?” She asks you
“I’ve been great. How are you doing? Are they teammates?” You asked motioning to the group of girls, most of them smiling at your interactions. Which you quickly shied away from them.
“I’ve been great. We actually just played a game, was a friendly though so pretty chill. And yes they are my teammates” she grinned raising her eyebrows
“How’d you guys go”
“Three, Nil”
“Leah that’s awesome!” You said tapping her hand in excitement that was resting on the back of your chair.
“Thanks” she smiled shrugging her shoulders, nervously. “Hi I’m Leah” Leah said dipping her head slightly at a stunned Stella behind you.
“Hi, I’m Stella” she waved
“Lovely to meet you” she smiled before her eyes were brought back to you.
“Your ice cream might melt. I’ll let you go” you said nodding to her friends at another table
“Thanks but Hey it’s weird but could I get your number in my phone? Just so like I know when you’ll be at the park and-“ she started to ramble.
“Yes of course” you smiled up at her before she gladly pulled out her phone and unlocked it so you could type in your number.
“See you around” she said happily before heading back to her friends.
“Yeah Williamson!” Katie said pulling the blonde down roughly to sit on the chair, too loud for Leah’s embarrassment.
“That was adorable” Caitlin said calmly
“Smooth one you are” Beth said, all eyes now on you talking to Stella from across the outdoor area of tables.
“I wouldn’t call it that smooth. ‘Just so I know when you’ll be at the park’” Katie laughed, mimicking when Leah tried to get your number.
“Shut up and eat that before it goes down your jumper” Leah said motioning to Katie’s melted ice cream she was eating.

you smiled at your phone at the sweet texts. Now genuinely getting really excited for the game tomorrow
————————————-
“Come on. You look beautiful I promise let’s just go please” you begged as Stella finished up the light waves in her hair
“Why thank you” she grinned, not hurrying up
“Girl I’m literally gonna leave my house, lock it up, and drive to the emirates without you” you said as you walked back up to your room so you could grab your bag. Stella stayed over last night and stayed in the guest house next to your pool, you found her slowly getting ready in there.
“Ok im ready how do i look” she said meeting you at the front door, shoes in hand and bag across her body.
“Fine”
“Bitch”
“I’m joking you look beautiful. It’s just football though. Now what about me I don’t want to have to ask Stella” you said as you locked your door behind you.
“Stunning for the Ms Williamson” she said, dragging out the Blonde you were talking to’s last name.
You lightly laughed before you both got into your blue Mercedes and drove to the emirates.
When arrived, you offered to grab you and Stella a drink while she found your seats. She texted you were to walk to after you had grabbed the drinks.
“So” Stella pipped up slightly as you handed her a drink before sitting down
“So?”
“So Leah was just warming up. They’ve gone into the changing rooms again now, but she looked straight over here and was defieblty looking for someone. Hm” Stella said curiously
“Wonder who she’s looking for then” you said shrugging and smiling
“Duh it’s you”
“I highly doubt that Leah Williamson was looking for me in the crowd”
“I just want to know how she knew where to look in the first place”
“We were talking last night”
“You called her!” Stella shrieked
“No no just told her I was coming to the game and stuff”
“Oh my I am so happy for you”
“Nothing is happening. Also I forgot to tell you but she offered to get us better seats, but I felt bad”
“Why did you decline-“
“It just felt…I don’t know, but beautiful you got us brilliant seats!” You said grinning as you pulled your best friend into your side
“Yeah yeah but Leah Williamson provided seats would’ve been a preference”
You both watched as Leah and her team piled out in a line from the tunnel before lining back up again on the pitch.
-Leah’s POV-
I scanned the audience once again. In hope for the shy girl. My eyes fell on my excited mum as I smiled wide and smiled waved at her. Still trying to get my head in the game space.
But in a way quickly fell off that track as my eyes found the beaming Brunette in the audience, she laughed loudly as her friend, Stella, I think I remember, whispered something in her ear.
In that moment in felt like the rest of the crowd was muted and I could make out only the sound of her laugh from when I made her laugh multiple times at the park.
Both Stella and y/n eyes drifted to me and the girls after their giggle and y/n finally found me.
Her cheeks fell a light shade of pink, as I felt mine turn crimson. She waved sweetly with the hand that laid in her lap. I waved shortly back as we both just chuckled for no reason, I didn’t know why I always caught myself doing that around her, even now when she was so far away from me.
She held up a red sign, a 50c poster you can buy from the Gunnersaurus at the front of the stadium ‘Come on you Gunners!’ Was read on the red cardboard as she waved it for me.
I laughed at her actions before she quickly put it back in her lap and laughed nervously to the girl next to her.
“Head in the game ya lover girl” Vic whispered in my ear from next to me, before we prepared to take our spots on the field.
-end of POV-
—————
After only 8 minutes of the girls playing against the rival club, Chelsea. Beth Mead slotted the ball past the goal keeper, erupting you and the other supporters around you into cheers.
‘Meado’s on Fire! Your Defense is terrified! Meados on Fire! Na na na…’
Stella informed you that it was in fact Beth Mead’s chant that was being sung loudly around you two. Stella tried to join in as you just laughed at your surroundings.
By the final whistle, another three goals made it into the net and you stood up and cheered loudly at the victory over Chelsea. Stella and you stood up and cheered for a little longer, before everyone started to leave so you started to gather your cups to throw in the bin and put your bag on your shoulder.
“Oh my y/n” Stella said as she waved at the field. Leah was waving to the two of you as she slowly walked over, Stella pulled you down with her to the bottom of the seats.
“Didn’t think I’d spot you” Leah laughed
“I think you’re spotting me all around London” you said making all three of you laugh
“Did you enjoy it?”
“Oh yes! Great job out there you played amazing” you exclaimed
“Thank you” Leah said leaning back with her hands on the barricade bar as she blushed.
“Okay well I’ll let you get back with your team” you smiled wide at the blonde below you
“Okay I’ll see you later” she smiled hoping she would see you again in the next few days. As she watched you walk off, she felt she missed something. “Actually y/n” Leah yelled your way while you were walking away, you very quickly spun around and walked back down to Leah as Stella kept on walking up the stadium
“Yeah” you said shyly as Leah just threw her head down, shaking her head with a laugh, “what?” You said confused as you laughed with her slightly
“What are you doing tonight?” She asked. It was only just after 4 o’clock, meaning that tonight actually meant quite soon.
“Umm nothing actually” you said
“Can I ask if you want to go for dinner with me? I totally totally understand-“
“Yes Leah yes I will of course” you said blushing even harder
“Really?” She said, she looked up at you with the smile of curiosity like a 3 year old. You just nodded fast.
“Okay well now I should definitely get back in. But I’ll text you when I get in there. I’ll pick you up yeah” Leah said as you both took a glance at her teammates that were giggling at your interaction for the second time. You smiled at the girls as they waved excitedly at you, the girl Leah was talking about in trainings, not to your knowledge.
Leah knew she probably should’ve asked if you wanted to meet one or two of them. But she was still slightly frozen in her words. “Okay then I’ll see you tonight then Leah” you said to the blonde
“Bye” she smiled before you both parted ways
“And she’s bagged the chick!” Kyra says jumping on Leah’s back as she walks back to her teammates.
“Oi” Leah says shrugging her off
“Seriously though, did you ask her out?” Caitlin says with a laugh, in hope she asked this time
“Yes I did. Count me out of team dinner tonight!” Leah said before walking into the tunnel to the changing rooms
————————
“I can’t believe you. Your so powerful” your best friend said as she stood in the door Frame of your bathroom, while you straightened out the waves in your hair from the plat you wore to the game
“Uh powerful?” You said furrowing your eyebrows, eyes kept on the hot hair tool in your hand
“You’re about to go out with Leah Williamson, who you casually met at a scrappy dog park a week and half ago”
Usually you would rebuttal her, you didn’t see this as powerful in any way, but you were happy to be going on a date with the girl. She seemed so genuine to you when you talked and you really appreciated that about her personality.
Well you weren’t even 100% sure if it was an offical date.
You walked into your living room with your outfit on, a short white skirt with a matching top as a set, with a navy blazer. “Is this ugly?” You asked your best friend sprawled out on your couch.
“Holy shit you look angelic”
“Thank you. So definitely this?” You asked again
“Do not take it off” she said settling it back into the couch, approving of your outfit, “only Leah will do that tonight” she mumbled the last bit.
“Oi I heard that” you said shooting your head out from the hallway as you went to grab some things from your room.
“Also when I go, are you just gonna stay here or”
“No I’ll let you have your house back to yourself I’ve overstayed my visit” she said smiling
“You could never ever overstay” you said hugging her from behind the couch. Before you felt a vibration in the bag on your shoulder, “okay Leah is here wish me luck S” you said pecking her cheek
“Have the best time. Please text me. I can pick you up. And I’ll leave In a minute and lock up” she reassured as you made your way to your door
“Don’t worry about me or hassling to leave. Just lock my door if you do. Bye” you said before blowing her a kiss
You heard Leah’s car engine outside your driveway gate, so you opened it up before walking to her car which was parked closer to your neighbours house.
She looked up from her lap in the car, to see you waking to her car. She seemed to panic and quickly got out of the car.
“Thought you lived there” she said pointing to the house next to you.
“Nope wrong house” you said as you finally reached the blonde
“Hey” she smiled softly, tilting her head to the side a tad. Before you hugged her, which she didn’t think you would do straight away, but she immediately hugged you back.
“Hi Leah” you said after pulling away. “You look stunning” you said looking at her outfit
“Coming from you gorgeous, Jesus I’m flattered” she said making you chuckle slightly. “You look incredible. You ready?” She asked before you nodded and she opened the car door for you.
“Too kind.” You said up at her before she gently shut the door. Your palms started to sweat, as you quickly brushed them on your skirt. Leah was making you extra nervous in her tight long sleeve black top and cream-coloured skirt that fitted her perfectly.
“Want to know where I’m taking you” she asked after she started her car.
“Obviously”
“It’s an underground restaurant my brother recommended to me. Sounds dodgy I know, but it’s quite nice actually. He went there for his birthday with my dad and they said it was amazing”
“Sounds Perfect” you said
“Really?”
“Yes really. I think I know which one your talking about, saw it on instagram I think”
————-
Leah ordered a bottle of red wine for the table, which you thanked her for. You sat in the lovely restaurant talking for what felt like an hour, before you decided it was best to probably order food.
When both your meal’s came, you thanked the waiter before you both quickly dug in.
“I should have gotten that” you said Ponting to Leah’s dish with your fork. Which was a nervous mistake.
“Why” Leah chuckled slightly
“Looks amazing”
“We can swap I don’t mind-“
“No no no that’s how it sounded I know, but I’m just saying yours looks good. I’m more than happy with mine”
“Well then your trying some”
“No it’s okay you dig in” you said
“Go on” she said pushing her plate slightly towards you
“No Leah I’m okay seriously”
“Y/n put some of the food your fork” Leah said raising her eyebrows and using a slightly lower voice, before you quickly poked the utensil into a small bite of her food
“You happy?” You said with a slight smile as Leah nodded, “now you” you said pushing your plate towards the blonde
“Happily” she shrugged before collecting a mouthful of your meal on her fork.
“Okay now that I have ranted about mine. Tell me about your family” you said
“ okay well I’m grateful that most of my family lives here, but my brother moved to Australia a bit ago” Leah said
“Oh wow I love Australia”
“You do?” Leah asked before shoving her fork into her mouth
“Yeah I went on exchange there in Highschool. My dream was to move there but I started my career here and stayed. What about your mum? I noticed you talking to her at the game before you saw me today ”
“At the game? Trust me I saw you the minute I walked out for warm up”
“You did?” You asked, eyes slightly in awe.
Leah’s reaction was a wave of blush to her checks and a massive shrug that brought all the way up to her face, smile wide as ever.
“Well anyways your mum looks lovely” you said
“Yeah she is lovely, she is” Leah laughed before going on about her mother , her laugh causing you to do the same and smile. The girl’s laugh very quickly became contagious to you. Her smile was bright and genuine.
—————
You were at the restaurant for too long. According to the waiter. So when the waitress handed you the bill, he placed it in front of Leah, which you quickly pulled away towards you and placed your card inside and then handing it back to waiter.
After he walked away Leah wined “no I was supposed to pay that was the plan”
“Yeah well my plan was to pay also and look who won” you said with a shit eating grin, amusement covered in your face at Leah’s dismay.
“Thank you” you and Leah smiled to the front waitress before she opened the door for you.
The London air was colder outside as you threw the blazer back onto yourself again. “Ice cream?” You said Pointing to the ice cream place situated across the street from where you were
“Obviously” Leah quickly said before throwing her arm around your shoulders, pulling you into her side as you both walked.
—————
“I’d thank our dogs for this date” Leah said as you’d finally found a cute bench near a park to sit down while the eating your ice creams.
“It’s a date?”
“I mean…” Leah said. She was right. You would have to be knocked out to see it wasn’t, because it most definitely was.
“Just kidding. Of course it is. And I thank your dog”
“Why” Leah laughed
“Molly doesn’t like making friends. When I take her to the dog park, she walks around and sniffs weeds by herself, then she takes a shit before she runs back to me signalling she’s ready to get in the car”
“Little princess huh” Leah said “does she get that from you?”
“First off, I wouldn’t call that princess behaviour at all. Two, no Leah my dog is not like me” you said with a hum.
After a little longer, You got back to Leah’s car and she was dropping you off.
Leah went on slightly a bit about her interest in Country music, which you complimented her on as soon as a Luke Combs song came up in the car. “I actually went to his concert” Leah said from the seat next to you as she drove
“No way me too” you exclaimed turning to the girl
“Really?! Wow it was awesome ay”
“Yeah it was” you smiled.
After a significantly fast but enjoyable 15 minutes, Leah’s car had reached your house. It started raining on the drive and it hadn’t yet stopped “um where should I stop?” Leah asked looking around the front of your house from her car
“Since it’s raining do you mind if you drive in a bit. After this gate there is a bit of a drive way which takes me like 5 mins to walk”
“Yeah no of course” Leah assure you
“Perfect” you smiled before pointing to Leah where to stop the car while you jumped oit of the car quickly to punch in your front code. The gates slowly opened as you ran back into Leah’s car. When you got in you were quite wet, causing both of you to laugh.
“Holy shit I love your house” Leah admired as she drove up from the gate
“Thank you Leah” you smiled
“How long have you lived here?”
“I’ve had this place for 4 years but I knocked it down 3 years ago completely rebuilt”
“Designed by you?” She asked
“Yes”
“I love”
You sat in silence for a quick second before Leah spoke up again “c’mon I’ll walk you to the door”
You both got out as you quickly grabbed Leah’s hand and pulled her to your door. Once you got to the door and you let go of her hand, it took Leah slightly longer to let go. “Thanks for tonight. I had the best time in a while” you smiled softly, your dimples showing significantly, which made Leah want to melt into a puddle with the rain right there and then.
“Me too. And I’m glad you had a great time” she smiled.
“I’d love to do it again soon”
“As soon as we possible can?” Leah asked
“Of course” you said
“Okay well I’ll let you get some sleep” Leah said softly before she hugged you tightly.
“Thanks again. Next time I’ll take you somewhere, so check ur texts”
“Wouldn’t miss it” the blonde smiled
“And I’ll be at your next game” you winked at her
“That means a lot to me. And good luck with your work thingo tomorrow. Smash it for me”
“Will do Williamson. Goodnight” you said with a warm smile once again
“Night y/n” Leah said before spinning around to her car and you unlocked your door to your house. “Text me when you get home safely-“ you yelled out to her, back to her car still as you were opening your door. You didn’t notice her grab the end of your hand and spin you towards her quickly as she kissed you.
The kiss made your head spin wild. You hadn’t been kissed in what felt like ages.
Well, Lie, you kissed a rando at a bar for a few seconds last week while you were drunk. But it was besides the point and didn’t count.
You quickly kissed the girl back. The feeling of Leah’s lips finally reaching yours was beautiful to you. When she slowly pulled away, you both blushed while looking into each other’s eyes.
Eye contact. Something the English captain did all too well.
“Sorry I don’t usually do that on a first date” Leah breathed out quietly before you gently grabbed her cheek and kissed her again for a captured second.
“Neither. But I didn’t mind that at all. Thank you again Leah”
“Thank you y/n. I’ll actually let you go now. I’ll text you when I get home” she smiled at you
“You better” you said to her as you watched her walk to the car from your front door. You waved to her car sweetly, before heading inside and shutting your door. You jumped on the spot for a moment, like a small girl. As you walked to the kitchen so you could call your best friend, biting your lip with a cheesy grin on your face.
—————
It had been two months of seeing Leah. Whether it was after the four games you had been to since your first, planned visits at the dog park, at each others houses or cute low-key dates.
No labels yet.
You and Leah connected so beautifully fast, that it just felt a tiny bit too soon to put a label on anything. You both, for now, just enjoyed each other company. Sharing a few kisses everyone now and then. That’s all.

Leah
Uhh
Y/n
Pleaseeee
Leah
Okay we are ready. Text me when you are here
You arrived at Leah’s house as she jumped in the front and put Bella in the back with your dog. “Hi” she pecked your lips as you drove off
“Hello”
“If we get frost bite i won’t hesitate to tell my coach it was your fault”
“You wouldn’t. And no we won’t get frost bite now come on” you said as you parked near the park and grabbed your umbrella to share.
Leah grabbed the umbrella from your hands as she was slightly taller, before she put it up and you both walked. You ended up just doing a walk around the park together a few times while your dogs ran free.
You would be lying if you said you didn’t enjoy the rain. You found it fun being the rain. Just like you were a little girl again. You didn’t know that Leah also found it enjoyable. “C’mon you know you want to” Leah giggled as she put down the umbrella. Completely exposing both of you to the pouring water. She pulled your hand as you ran with her in the rain.
You couldn’t stop laughing from happiness that when you both stopped running you both had to bend over and rest your hands on your knees. You stood up straight and pulled Leah up before pulling her into a passionate and long lasting kiss.
Your hands wrapped onto her neck as she dipped you slightly, causing you to squeal. She laughed at your own laugh as her hands wrapped around your waste before you jumped up into her arms, after the tap signal on your thigh from Leah.
“Will you be my girlfriend” you smiled at you up in her arms
“Huh!” You said over the loud rain surrounding you
“Will you be my girlfriend!” She said louder
“Girlfriend?” You asked clarifying. She nodded fast. You just pulled her in for another passionate kiss. “Of course I will Leah” you said as she spun you both around before your lips met once again.
————————————
Sheesh this one was actually long for me
But might be one of my favs
Hope you enjoyed love u💓

Sicktember 2023: 17 (Arsenal)
Magical Remedy/ Healing Potion
You had showed up to your mums’ house after dark, falling rain mixing with your tears as you waited for someone to open the door. You sniffled as the door was finally opened, Leah standing on the other side. Both of you froze- confused- for just a moment, neither expecting the other one to be there.
But, thankfully, Leah could tell that you were teetering on regression and scooped you into her arms. Shutting the door to keep the chill out, Leah carries you down the hallway, shouting for your mums. Beth and Viv must sense the urgency in her voice, as they quickly appear in the kitchen doorway.
They see you cuddled into her and they can instantly tell that you’re feeling really small. You’re also soaked from the rain and shaking from the cold, and they can see a stream of snot running down your face. Overall, a pitiful sight.
Your Mama makes it to you first. She pulls you into her arms, shushing you as you whine as you leave Aunt Leah’s embrace. As soon as you’re settled into your Mama’s arms, though, you melt into Viv. She rocks slightly in place, cooing softly to you in Dutch. Your tears slow as you calm down, and they stop completely by the time Beth is in front of you.
You Mummy pulls her sleeve over her hand, using the fabric to try and wipe your face clean. You grunt slightly, turning your head into Mama’s neck. Good news, your face was clean, bad news, Viv’s shirt was no longer clean.
You hear Aunt Leah saying goodbye to your mums before you feel a gentle hand rubbing your back. She presses her nose to your temple, saying a quiet “goodnight, Love,” before pressing a kiss next to your eye. You’re far too little to find words- something all three women can sense- but you open and close one hand in a ‘bye-bye’ motion.
Soon enough, it’s just the two mums and the poorly baby. You hear them talking, but you pay it no attention. You choose instead to focus on finding something you can put in your mouth. Too tired to lift your hand, you decide that Mama’s shirt makes a suitable pacifier and begin suckling. This prompts a laugh from your mums, but they allow you to continue as Viv carries you to the makeshift nursery.
The two women make quick work of drying you off and changing you into a fresh nappy and pajamas. Once you’re settled, Mummy slips a pacifier into your mouth and clips the other end to your onesie.
Mummy picks you back up, taking you into the living room. It was getting close to your bedtime, and they knew you would be sleepy soon. She sits on the sofa, laying you on top of her and trying to engage you in little games.
What Mummy didn’t know was that you were feeling much too small and much too sick for peek-a-boo, so you decided to inform her by crying. She definitely understood the message, unfortunately the tears did cause you to start coughing. You’re red faced, coughing and gagging, when Mama comes in from the kitchen with a bottle.
She sits next to you, pulling you into her lap and firmly patting your back while speaking calmly and softly.
Once you’re finally calmed down, she offers you back to Mummy. You instead decide to lay yourself down across the both of them, demanding all of the attention. They easily comply, and your Mama moves to give you your bottle, but you whine and squirm. As she can see you getting worked up, Mummy puts a hand on your belly, rubbing nice circles.
“Shh, Liefje, it’s okay. Mama’s got a special bottle for you, it’s nice and warm and sweet. And it’s magic, it will make you sleep and feel better when you wake up. Don’t you want the magical bottle?” Viv asks.
You didn’t understand everything she said, but you did know magic. Magic means unicorns and dragons and all sorts of cool things, so you would be crazy not to want the bottle.
Mama pops the bottle in your mouth, both women watching as your lips pout around the nipple, suckling gently.
“What’s so magical about this bottle?” Beth asks.
“I put NyQuill in it,” Viv answers, shrugging, “She’ll sleep and she’ll feel better- and we don’t even need to fight her to take the medication.”
Beth nods her agreement, running her hand through your hair. You didn’t understand the big words they were saying, all you knew is that the magical baba was making you feel better and your mums were making you feel even better-er. And that’s all you needed to know that night, because after the bottle was emptied and your Mama had picked you up, you fell asleep before you could even notice your mums bypass the crib and settle you into the middle of their big bed.

Hi I saw that you’re a big Lorna Dane fan and that you’ve read a lot of her comics. Do you have a recommended reading list for her?
Hey there! 💚🧲 Thanks for the ask!
I use Travis Starnes’ reading order for my Polaris-athon (https://cmro.travis-starnes.com/character_details.php?character=426) but if you’re just wanting to get into her stories it’s way too much tbh. She has a lot of appearances and it can be difficult to sort through the meaningful ones and the ones where she’s just on the page as a recognizable cameo.
I haven’t managed to read all of her appearances yet - I’ve gotten up to the early 90s, and I’ve read most of her appearances from, like, 2016 onwards. I’m a little behind on Fall of X as well. So there likely are going to be some gaps here, but this would be my recommended reading list for Polaris 🧲 :
Tumblr media
Krakoan Age (2019-)
this is the golden age for Polaris in my opinion, and where I’d honestly recommend you start reading!
Leah Williams’ X-Factor: This is where the modern revitalization of Polaris into the It Girl of Krakoa really begins. There is controversy surrounding the final issue of the series due to Prodigy's storyline (see here, here, and here for more info), but overall I really love this run. It’s very queer and does a great job of taking Polaris’ spotty characterization and having her begin a journey of self discovery.
Gerry Duggan’s X-Men: Gerry follows up on Leah’s work here and Polaris really starts to shine. Issue #5 is a standout and a personal favorite, if you only read one issue, it should be this one. She’s in vol. 1 as a main member of the team, and the spin offs from this period (Devil’s Reign X-Men and Death of Doctor Strange: X-Men/Black Knight) are really fun. Plus, Pepe Larraz’s redesign of her for this book is STUNNING.
Alex Segura's 'Control' arc in X-Men Unlimited (#96-99) : this is exclusive to the Marvel Unlimited app, but it’s really great. Lorna’s a cameo queen after leaving Gerry’s book, so it’s a nice centering of her and revisits some of her greatest villains.
Steve Orlando’s Scarlet Witch: Issue #3 is a must read in my opinion, particularly if you’re interested in Lorna’s relationship with her family (it builds off of Williams’ Trial of Magneto, which I love and establishes her PhD, but ultimately I think you can probably skip, it’s more of a Wanda focus).
Tumblr media
The Lost Era (2010s)
This is the time period following the Decimation, where a lot of stories... tread water, tbh! Nothing here is essential reading for Polaris.
Lorna spends a lot of this era in the hands of Peter David, who is a vile scum sack of a person (see here for an example). I've read All New X-Factor (2014), where he characterizes her as someone who is completely unhinged and a danger to animals. It's not a fun time tbh. And again, it's Peter David - so I would skip this. You aren't missing much.
Cullen Bunn's X-Men Blue (2017): I've only read the first arc of this run, but it focuses on the time-displaced O5 X-Men (Jean, Warren, Scott, Bobby, Hank). Magneto is mentoring them, so Polaris steps in to keep him from making them too ~evil~. I haven't heard anything good or bad about her appearances in this book, so I can't really recommend one way or another. It's probably safe to skip.
Ed Brisson's Uncanny X-Men (2018): Again, I haven't read this one yet! It's the lead up to the Age of X-Man event, where she also appears. Similarly to X-Men Blue, I haven't really heard anything good or bad about this one. You can skip it if you'd like, it's right before Krakoa pops off which is a soft reboot from the entire franchise.
Tumblr media
Decimation Era (2000s)
John Byrne's X-Men the Hidden Years: I haven't read this either yet, but I know some people really like it. It fleshes out a lot of the Silver Age stuff, and it's where Polaris uses the codename Magnetrix (where I got my blog name from lol).
Apocalypse: the Twelve: I have not read this. I have heard only bad things about it lmao. Polaris and Magneto are part of a prophecy about defeating Apocalypse, but it doesn't turn out the way they expect. Skip.
Grant Morrison's New X-Men #132: A transformative issue for Polaris and a HUGE milestone in her character. It deals with the Genoshan genocide, of which Polaris was one of the few survivors. Highly recommend.
Chuck Austen's Uncanny X-Men: So this run is very ~your mileage may vary~ - I haven't read it yet myself. BUT from what I know, Austen really builds on Morrison's trauma that they gave to Lorna, and really takes her away from the assimilationist characterization Peter David gave her. Plus, it has the iconic Magneto wedding dress panel (Uncanny X-Men (1981) #426)
House of M (2005): she's in it, she doesn't really do much! Skip.
Peter Milligan's X-Men: Polaris becomes Pestilence, the horseman of Apocalypse in the Blood of Apocalypse arc beginning in X-Men (1991) #181. I haven't read it, but tbh most Apocalypse storylines between the original X-Factor arc and the Krakoan age are bad, so it's probably safe to skip.
After her spin as Pestilence, Lorna goes to space and joins the Starjammers. I haven't read this yet either, but it seems like fun! Relevant titles would be Uncanny X-Men (1981) Rise and Fall of the Shi'Ar Empire (#475-486), X-Men: Emperor Vulcan #1-5 (2007), and then the War of Kings (2009) event.
Tumblr media
1990s
Skip this entire era. She's basically just in Peter David's original run on X-Factor (1986). The artwork is pretty, but the writing comes off as very male gaze-y to me and her character arc is somewhat repetitive.
X-Factor (1986) #186 (eXaminations) is famous for being an in-depth character study of the entire team. It's where we first see Lorna's eating disorder pop up. It's well done, just, well - fuck the writer lol.
Tumblr media
Claremont Run (1975-1980s)
Lorna's storyline is overall a little confusing and hard to follow in the Claremont era, mostly because she is a) mind-controlled for most of it and b) not the main plot. So she ends up appearing in random issues, sometimes gone for huge lengths at a time, and then reappears. It's really clear that Chris was interested in working with this character and had some great ideas for her, but she was never one of his main blorbos.
These are the issues you should check out:
Giant Size X-Men (1975): Claremont didn't write this, Len Wein did, but this is really the start of the Claremont run. It has some cool moments for Polaris, including an early example of a mutant circuit between her and Storm!
X-Men (1963) #97: Lorna and Havok are mind-controlled by Erik the Red (don't worry about it) to fight the X-Men.
X-Men (1963) #125-129: the Proteus arc, Lorna is on Muir island with Havok and helps out. Nothing super critical happens, she just sorta vibes (and enjoys not being mind controlled).
Uncanny X-Men (1981) #145-146: Arcade has kidnapped loved ones of the X-Men, tbh I would recommend reading this just for Polaris' outfit. It's this witchy purple thing that is INCREDIBLE.
Uncanny X-Men (1981) #218-219, 221-222, 239-241, 243, X-Factor (1986) #39: Polaris is possessed by Malice, so now she's fighting against the X-Men... and working for Sinister! It's not technically her, but it's iconic and is a prime example of a running motif of possession for her.
Uncanny X-Men (1981) #249-250: ZALADANE! An iconic retcon, we meet Lorna's long lost sister (again).
Uncanny X-Men (1981) #253-255, 257-258, 269, X-Factor (1986) #69, Uncanny X-Men (1981) #280, X-Factor (1986) #70: Big!Lorna and the Muir Island saga. It's very weird! But I love big!Lorna and her muscles, so we stan. This is also the very weird end of Chris Claremont's main run on the X-Men, where it's very clear the plots got messed with in the wrap-up.
After this, Peter David takes over X-Factor, and he's garbage!
Tumblr media
The Silver Age (1960s)
So this is Lorna's debut era, she's an OG member of the X-Men! Unfortunately even here, they never quite know what to do with her. She's very much intended to function as Bobby's love interest, which... doesn't really work out lmao. But I do think this era is fun to read, especially knowing what retcons they're going to build out later on for her, particularly with regards to Magneto.
She's not in too many issues:
Arnold Drake's X-Men (1963) #49-52: Lorna's first appearance! It's super fun, definitely check it out.
Linda Fite's X-Men (1963) #57: Lorna fights a sentinel!
Roy Thomas's X-Men (1963) #58-62: Some more fun moments - Kazar/Sauron arc, and the first appearance of Havok!
Dennis O'Neil's X-Men (1963) #65-66: The Z'nox invasion, Lorna has some cool moments here. Still no codename tho lol.
I'll try to update this as I fill in my gaps, but happy reading!! 🧲💚

Hi Snake, which Bachelor/Bachelorette is the most likely to keep a snake as a pet/like snakes? Also I hope you are doing well!
Bachelor/ettes Ranked by How Much They Like Snakes
Hi! I must confess, I have a smidge feeling this is Mouse/Student speaking. If so, hi! Nice to see you around here! If not, also hi! Anyway, here's where I confess I don't know too much about snakes. Whoops. I just think they're cute. And I hope you are doing well too!
Tumblr media
Most likely to keep a snake (below)
Emily
Emily loves all animals, and she's thought about getting a snake multiple times! The only thing that stands in the way is her personal distaste for the ownership of living animals and Haley. If she could be buddies with a wild snake, however, she'd love to!
Sam
Sam's thought about getting a snake before, but Jodi would never let him. Vincent's also not the biggest fan of snakes, either (Vincent scares away the spiders for Jas, Jas leads Vincent away and around the snakes). He also isn't prepared to own a pet just yet. They're a lot of work and require a lot of money and dedication!
Sebastian
If getting a frog never works out, Sebastian would like a snake. They just seem really cool to him. They're cute, but can be dangerous, too. Who doesn't like a combination like that?
Leah
Leah isn't as likely to get a snake, but she's love to see one in a zoo. She's seen snakes around her house before and always gets so excited. She stays away from them, of course, but tries to remember the image so she can perhaps paint it!
Abigail
Abigail likes snakes because they're badass and can kill things. She likes that stuff. Though she does have a fear of one killing her hamster, so she doesn't want to get one. She also has a fear of getting bitten.
Maru
Maru would get a snake because they're cool for a scientist to have. They just work with the aesthetic, you know? But she's not prepared at all to care for one, and she doesn't have much interest in it besides that. Pets need lots of love, and she's more focused on other things at the moment.
Elliott
Elliott would also get a snake for the aesthetic. But he would also be scared of it and wouldn't go near it, which would be terrible for the snake's health. So, he just doesn't get one.
Haley
Haley is scared of snakes. She's scared of rats, spiders, snakes, bugs, and any other critter considered a pest. Emily talked about going to a zoo to see a snake once with her and she shut that down real quick.
Penny
Penny is also scared of snakes. She tends to freeze when she gets scared, and a big fear of hers is that she'll freeze around something dangerous and get hurt. It just really freaks her out, so she stays away from that stuff. She can see one in a museum, though.
Shane
Shane hates snakes. He hates them so much. They scare him.
Alex
Alex's biggest phobia is snakes. Aside from like, the whole parental fears and family fears and big stuff, he's scared of snakes. Spiders are no big deal; he can deal with them any day. but snakes are bigger and venomous and scarier.
Harvey
Harvey is deathly afraid of snakes. Like he will freak out if he sees one. Like freeze up before the adrenaline kicks in and he leaps over it and runs off. Terrified. This poor man.
Least likely to keep a snake (above)

millie bright x reader where reader plays for arsenal and they are sneaking around because they thought that their chelsea and arsenal teammates wouldn’t approve of them fraternising with the enemy as it were. in reality both teams already know and are seeing how much they can hint towards it and embarrass them without letting on that they know. maybe you could even in include some of the chelsea and arsenal girls teaming up to do this. sort of like romeo and juliet but make it comedy
Romeo & Juliet
Millie Bright x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“-What are you doing here? Someone’s going to see you!” You whisper shout, pulling the person in by their wrist and peaking your head out the door into the hallway to see if anyone is around. Thankfully there wasn’t.
You were looking through your suitcase before a series of knocks interrupted you. A little confused as to why someone was knocking at your hotel door at 11 at night, you went to open the door and noticed it was your secret girlfriend Millie Bright.
The main reason your relationship is a secret is because of the color of your uniforms. Hers being the dark blue for Chelsea and yours being the bright red for Arsenal. Two players on rival teams falling in love; ironic isn’t it?
If you both played for the same country it would be a little different, but sadly, you don’t. What’s worse is that you play for the USWNT, everybody’s sworn enemy it feels like, although everyone loves you no matter where you’re from. They obviously don’t hate players from the country, but since they’re extremely competitive, they have to keep up their tough front.
“Well, nice to see you too, love.” Millie snickers, slumping down at the end of the hotel mattress with a big thump, squirming in her place to get comfortable. She opens her arms for you to slot yourself on her lap and hug your arms around her neck.
“Sorry, I’m so happy to see you. I’ve missed you.” You sigh, pecking her cheek softly while nuzzling your face into her neck, trying to get as close to her as you can. Her tattooed arm trails underneath your shirt, rubbing at your stomach as she presses tiny kisses along your jaw.
“I’ve missed you too. I have also missed letting the TV run while I get my way with you.” She whispers suggestively, continuing to trail kisses in any place she can reach, making you hum in pleasure.
“Ooo! Look at the sky!” You hop off the blonde’s lap and open the sliding door to go onto the balcony, leaving the defender winded by your sudden disappearance. She sighs with a fond smile, shaking her head before getting up to follow you.
Millie’s arms loop around your waist as her chin finds a place down on your shoulder. Her muscular figure wraps around you comfortably while you both gaze up at the stars in the sky.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” You ask, rocking back and forth slowly with the taller girl’s body against yours.
“Almost as beautiful as you.” She teases, placing a kiss on your neck.
“You’re so cheesy.” You say in fake disgust with your tongue hanging out your mouth to prove your point further. Her fingers pinch your side, warning you to keep your mouth shut.
“I guess listening to Sam’s and Kristie’s calls all the time rubs off on ya.”
You both look at the sky and the people walking up to the hotel for a little bit until you catch a familiar blonde looking up at you with a puzzled face and a hand over her eyes to block the light from the lamppost. Of course, it had to be the Lionesses captain and your fellow Arsenal teammate.
“Shit! Mills go inside. Code red, I repeat code red!” Before your girlfriend can protest, you’re already shoving her through the glass doors and shutting it along with the curtains.
“Now what was that for?” Millie stands with her arms crossed over her chest, wondering why exactly their peaceful stargazing was interrupted by you yelling and pushing her into the hotel room.
“Leah might have just seen us from the sidewalk.” You bite your nails at the confession before peaking out the glass door to see if the girl is still down there. Running a hand through your hair, you begin to pace back and forth wondering if Leah has seen you with the Chelsea defender.
“Leah as in my England captain and your teammate Leah?” Millie asks, trying to process everything that just happened while making sure you’re talking about the same person.
Before you have the chance to answer, the sound of knocking appears at your door, causing your eyes to widen. You look out the peephole and notice Leah standing there with her familiar scowl on her face.
“Oh my god, we’ve gotta hide you.” You push at her back and drag her into the bathroom, gesturing for her to get into the shower.
“I don’t want to go in there!” Millie protests while whispering so she doesn’t alarm the girl who is currently still standing on the other side of your hotel door.
“Either you go in there right now, or you stay and explain to your captain that you’re in a long-term relationship with an Arsenal and United States player.”
“In the shower, I go.” She hops in so you can close the curtain right away and head over to the front door. You look at the mirror next to you and fix your appearance to the best of your ability.
Opening the door, you greet the other defender with a smile, “Hey, Lee. It’s pretty late, what are you doing here?”
You welcome Leah in, gesturing for her to sit either on your bed or on the little chair in the corner, but she chooses to stand.
“I just thought I’d say goodnight to my dearest friend, but I thought I saw someone else on the balcony with you.” She quirks an eyebrow towards you, waiting for you to answer her not-very-obvious question.
“Nope, just me.” You chuckle nervously.
After a few seconds of silence, Leah lets out a big sigh, “Thought I’d just say hey since I saw that you were up. Guess I’ll get goin’” Just when you’re about to think she’s leaving when she heads over to the door, she turns around and asks, “Do you have any extra tissues? Russo and Mccabe just finished watching The Notebook for the first time and used it all.”
“Umm yeah, I’ll go grab that for you-“
“No, it’s okay. I know where it is.”
Leah misses the panicked expression on your face when she heads into the bathroom. She looks under the sink and grabs the extra box before making her way back out by you. You almost sigh in relief when she doesn’t notice the tall figure standing behind your shower curtains, but you refrain yourself so she doesn’t ask questions.
“Goodnight, Lee. See you tomorrow.” You wave her out the door, closing it and locking everything you can so no one with a key card can get in. Hands grab at your waist making you jump at the sudden contact but relax hearing the familiar voice of your brick wall of a girlfriend.
“That was a close one. I think that calls for a long night of cuddles, don’t ya think?” She asks, jumping onto the mattress with her arms wide open, waiting for you to join her. You laugh at her childish pout and shuffle your body to fit into hers, resting your head on her chest.
“I love you.” You mumble sleepily.
Millie places a peck on your forehead whispering back, “I love you too, sweets. Get some sleep.”
“You actually saw Mills in the room with her?” Beth asks with a shocked expression on her face.
“Yes! Her bun was literally peaking over the shower curtain. Y/n/n thought I didn’t see Millie on the balcony with her when it was so obvious seeing how much bigger she is compared to our tiny Gooner.” Leah states as everyone rolls their eyes at yours and Millie’s attempt to hide your relationship.
The Chelsea and Arsenal players caught onto your relationship quickly when they caught you sneaking off into a materials closet to snog each other’s faces off. With the many attempts of the two of you trying to keep it a secret, they thought it would be fun to let it keep happening to get a little laugh in.
Everyone 100% supports you guys in every way. They think you both complement each other well and you’re basically a match made in heaven.
“Don’t get me started when I saw Millie get all lovesick on the phone a few weeks ago. When I asked her who it was, she tried to say it was Daly.” Sam shakes her head, taking a sip out of her drink. A bunch of the girls, both red and blue, decided to hang out in one of their rooms to have a meeting about you two.
“Do you think they’ll ever realize that they’re not as subtle as they think they are?” Niamh questions to which the whole group responds in a series of no’s, shaking their heads at your guys' obliviousness.
“Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass- ah!”
One second you’re walking around, next you’re being yanked away by an unknown source. You had time to spare before you had to go out on the pitch and practice, so you decided to stroll around and get a little pregame walk in.
“Beautiful singing there, love.”
“Warn a girl next time, almost gave me a heart attack.” You exclaim, pushing at her chest in fake offense which doesn’t even make her move an inch because of her string build.
She grips your waist and softly presses you up against the corner wall. Her lips begin to pepper all over your skin, from your cheeks to your collarbones.
“Mills, someone’s going to catch us.” You protest weakly, too consumed by the feelings of her kisses pressing lightly at all the right spots.
“We’re tucked away in a corner, no one will see us, darling.” Her voice vibrates against your neck, causing you to let out a soft giggle, melting the heart of your lover. “I miss you.”
You grab her cheeks with both of your hands and swipe the loose strands of hair that have fallen out of her bun. “You just saw me last night, baby. We’ll get to see each other again.”
“Yeah, but I had to sneak out in the early morning so no one would notice me leaving your room which is hardly romantic might I say.”
Your eyes remain on hers, roaming every detail of the different hues of blue splattered in her eyes. She smiles back at you and places her hand over yours that continues to stroke her cheek.
Snapping out of your little love bubble, you clear your throat and ask, “Is there any reason you stopped me from my regular pregame stroll?”
“Oh just wanted to come and wish you luck, but also let you know that there are no hard feelings after we destroy you.” She smirks, straightening her posture and showing off her new captain band.
“That’s so funny because I was just going to say the same thing.” Millie rolls her eyes at your mocking tone and threatens to walk away, but you grab her wrist and pull her back into you. “Good luck kiss?”
The defender huffs but leans in anyway, never being able to deny you. It first starts as an innocent peck but then you pull her back in for another and things start getting more heated. After a minute of her tongue in your mouth, you pull away gasping for breath while giggling slightly in the slight haze you’re in.
“Thank you for that, hope it makes you feel better after Arsenal beats Chelsea’s ass!”
And it turns out, you weren’t wrong. Arsenal won 2-1 with a goal from Lacasse and Russo. There were a few chances of you scoring a header but with a certain captain’s hands on your waist, whispering her thoughts about you had you distracted.
Safe to say that you’re not on your best game when playing against Millie Bright.
You’re now shaking hands with all of the other team when you approach the blonde. You both begin to talk while drinking out of your water bottles just chatting away. Millie leans in for a hug which you accept and take in her big embrace.
“Oi! You were already off kissin’, you can be separated for a little bit now.” An Irish accent interrupts you, making you pull away with a shocked look on both of your faces.
Your fellow Arsenal teammates stand next to Chelsea’s as they all stare at you two with amused expressions. Millie stands awkwardly, stuttering at the fact you two were caught while you gasp and point your finger at all of them.
“You all knew?!”
“Hardy har har, we get it. We weren’t as secretive as we thought we were.” You roll your eyes at everyone’s continuous teasing.
After the game, everyone agreed to go out and have a few drinks at the pub down the street since there’s a little break in the season and everyone has free time. The whole group besides you and Millie decided it was time to share all the times they either caught or suspected the two of you, many of the stories being incredibly embarrassing.
Millie is sitting on the booth with you on top of her, legs sprawled across her lap. One of her hands rests comfortably on the spot where your skin is exposed, right next to your belly button while her other holds onto her bottle of beer. You continue to sip on your cocktail as everyone turns to their separate conversations.
The blonde below you taps on your stomach, making you shift your attention to her, seeing her neck crooked up with her lips pursed. You let out a small laugh and lean over to press a few short but equally sweet kisses to her lips. Millie smiles in delight before the sound of fake gagging can be heard from across the table.
“Can’t you guys go swap saliva in the privacy of your own room?” Katie once again interrupts but ends up getting hit on the back of the head by Caitlin.
“You all better turn away because what I’m about to do is not PG!” Without warning, Millie grips your jaw with one hand and pulls you into a sloppy kiss, kissing the life out of you and dramatically making loud noises to peeve the other girls, causing your nose to crinkle at the disgusting sounds.
You push her away and hang your tongue out, showing your obvious fake displeasure. A few of the girls whooped at the public display of affection while others covered the eyes of the innocent ones. Everyone gets their laughs and jokes out, trying their best to patter on your so-called new relationship.
You’re laughing with Leah and Alessia about their little game disagreement when you notice how quiet Millie has been. You look over and see her staring into space so you wave your hand in front of her face, bringing her back onto earth with a small smile.
“Why don’t you let your hair down, baby? Loosen up a little.” You rub your thumb on the apple of her cheek while swiping away a strand of hair that fell down on her cheek.
“Mm, might have to wait till after we get to the hotel because the things I plan on doing to ya require my hair to stay out of the way.” A deep crimson red coats your cheeks before you look over to the side, sipping on your drink to avoid the lustful stare from the tattooed woman.
“Cheekyyy,” Sam says having slid over closer to you two for whatever reason.
Millie is quickly guiding you out the door, bidding your goodbyes to everyone and ignoring the wolf whistles that follow you out the door. After your rewarding night, you both equally decide to share your relationship with the world, so when you have up to thousands of notifications, you shut your phone and nuzzle your face right back onto your girlfriend’s chest.

Just thinking out loud.. I think the ships I'd wanna explore for stardew are:
m!farmer/alex (duh lol, got that covered already)
penny/maru
haley/leah
sam/sebastian/abigail
harvey/shane
emily/sandy
caroline/jodi
(I also like elliott/m!farmer but that's more of like a blorbo in law situation ahaha)
I really like the canon ships of Robin/Demetrius, Lewis/Marnie, and Evelyn/George too but those are just like. A given, I feel like ahaha. (Not that I wouldn't want to wife Robin with a female farmer if given the chance BUT 😩 they are sweet together)
Expanding on them a little... :3
m!farmer/alex
Childhood friends reunited but then Alex is SO different from how he was as a kid. In a bad way. He's trying very hard to be someone he's not, and it takes a connection from his past and a lot of sweet persistence to knock some sense into him. Alex deals with comphet and accepting himself when he starts falling for another guy.
penny/maru
Maru takes an interest in Penny and very persistently tries to befriend her. Penny realizes she's absolutely head over heels for her... They're both very smart women but with very different circumstances, so Penny never even considered how much they might have in common until now.
haley/leah
Leah sees Haley taking photos in the forest and offers to share her lunch with her, asks to look over her photos. They connect right away about art and photography, Leah modeling for Haley's photos and Haley modeling for Leah's sketches. Haley becomes a lot more down to earth when she realizes how nice the simple life can be when it's spent with Leah. I want to think Haley also struggled with comphet, and feels so much more liberated now being with Leah.
sam/sebastian/abigail
The three were always inseparable and as they got into their teenage years, friendship turned into more. I hc Abigail as being transfem so I'd like to think she was terrified of losing the two of them in coming out, but they both supported her and she was pleasantly surprised to find them being even more doting on her after the change. I'd like to think Abigail is kind of bratty, Sebastian is a little stern but sweet, and Sam is very flexible with the both of them.
harvey/shane
Hear me out on this one, after Shane's wake up call moment where he's left hospitalized, he and Harvey have a serious heart to heart. That leads to an unexpected friendship, which Harvey is very pleased to have as he otherwise keeps to himself mostly. Shane can be really sweet when he wants to be, and the way he's so gentle with children and animals stirs something in Harvey he never knew he wanted.
emily/sandy
Self explanatory I think, but. Fashionable, kinda weird girlfriends. They love drinking together and traveling and trying new foods, and they share clothes with each other whenever they can. I think it started out as an experimentation between friends and then they realized their friendship was already so much more than they thought it was. Long distance relationship though, given Sandy living in calico desert.
caroline/jodi
They both are so unhappy with their lives but find so much comfort in each other. Caroline seems to enjoy good cooking but doesn't enjoy cooking it, whereas Jodi is always making new recipes... I'd like to think she makes every excuse to bring something delicious to Jodi. I want them to run away together one day and leave everything and everyone behind, just have each other and that's all they need. 🥺

Red & Blue | Chapter 6
Author's note: There is something about Mason's hair on this chapter, but despite being currently relevant, it was written weeks ago 😅 Thank you very much for reading! 💜

Tumblr media
A couple of weeks after breaking up with Ben, I’m back with the national team.
“Hello, honey” Emily says as I walk out of my car, giving me a big hug. “How are you?”
“Good” I say with a shy smile.
“We will take good care of you here, you’ll see” she says as we walk into St. George’s Park. Inside, everyone I meet with comes to say hello, all of them giving me a hug and asking how I am. Even Southgate.
“We are a family, and we care about everyone” he says.
“Thank you” I say. “But if people keep being this nice, I’m gonna end up crying again.”
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“There she is! My favorite gunner!” Declan says when Leah and I walk into the room where the people who has already arrived is chilling.
“Oh, Declan, that’s so cute!” Leah says.
“I wasn’t talking about you, Williamson” he says as he gets up to give me a hug.
“Rude” she says, sitting down where Declan was. “Has Mason arrived yet?”
“Nope” he says. “But we should be seeing him and his stupid new haircut soon.”
“He cut his hair? No more prince Mount?” I say.
“Nope. And I don’t think you’ll like it when you see it.”
“Please tell me he didn’t went back to those weird bangs, the ones he got at the beginning of the season. They still give me nightmares.”
“It’s that short, but no bangs.”
“That’s something.”
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“Why Mason. Why” I say when he arrives.
“Why what? What did I do?” he asks, confused and a bit scared.
“That” I say, pointing at his head. “Why did you do that?”
“I got tired of having to keep it in place all the time. And it was bothering me while playing.”
“Then cut it a bit. Do something like Declan. Or go back to the hair you had in Oporto. You looked so good that day.”
“Did I?” he smirks.
“You did, yes. But you aren’t anymore, so stop smiling like that” I say, trying to ignore the fact that I just confessed that I find him attractive. Or used to. That haircut is making me reconsider it.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
The next few days feel like a blessing. We train, we play our first game and win, and we all spend time together, having fun. Things start to feel normal, that something I’ve had on my chest since I broke up with Ben almost gone. Some of my teammates are even thinking about throwing me a birthday party despite having to play that day.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“There you are” Leah says when I leave the changing room after training, some of the other girls looking at me and whispering.
“Did something happen?” I ask.
“You haven’t checked your phone yet, have you?”
“I left it upstairs charging. Why?” I ask, starting to fear something has happened.
“Let’s go somewhere else” she says as she takes me towards the rooms, the other girls still looking at me.
“Leah, what happened? Is my family alright?” I ask when we are finally alone on one of the corridors.
“They are fine, don’t worry. It’s not them.”
“Then?”
“It’s Chilly” she says with a big sigh, showing me her phone.

Tumblr media
“That was fast” I say, my voice coming out almost in a whisper.
“He’s a dick, and I’m sure he knew what he was doing. There is a photo where he is looking at the camera, and then he turns as if to kiss that girl” Leah says.
I scroll through the article, looking at the photos, my throat starting to hurt as I try not to cry.
“It’s alright. We are over. He can do whatever he wants” I say, that thing on my chest coming back.
“I know. But I also know it still hurts, doesn’t it?” Leah says, coming closer. “And choosing to do it just a couple of days before your birthday... He better not cross paths with me any time soon.”
“I have to go” I say, walking away from her.
“Wait, no.”
“I have to go” I say again, crying and running away, wanting to be left alone.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“Is this sit taken?” a male voice says behind me.
“Mason?” I say, turning to look at him. “What are you doing here? How did you find me?”
“Leah told me what happened, that you ran away. She couldn’t find you, so I offered to help her, and I remembered hearing you say that you liked coming here to be alone.”
“You did?”
“Yep” he says. “May I sit?”
I just nod, trying to control my sobs again.
“You can cry if you need to” he says. “I won’t tell anyone.”
“Thank you” I say.
At first he just stays there, sitting next to me while I look at the horizon and think about what an idiot I am. But as I start properly crying, I feel one of his arms around my shoulders, trying to comfort me.
“I was so stupid” I say, turning to hug him, now crying on his shoulder. “I knew the way he was, that he wasn’t looking for something serious. But I still agreed to go out with him, to actually date him. I let my guard down and started to have feelings for him, and now… Now I look like an idiot. The whole country probably thinks I am an idiot. An idiot girl who fell for a pretty boy.”
“You aren’t an idiot” Mason says to my ear, hugging me tighter.
“Aaron and Leah warned me. Many times. And what did I do?” I say, pulling away from him, our faces very close.
“You followed your heart” he says as he moves his hand to my cheek, wiping some of my tears with his thumb.
“And now it’s broken. When it was starting to mend, it is breaking again.”
“But it won’t be like that forever. It will heal. Like you just said, it had started to” he says, his hand still on my cheek.
“It’s already been broken twice. I don’t think it’ll recover from this one.”
“It will. You are a strong woman.”
I look up and meet his eyes. I don’t know what it is, but there is something on the way he is looking at me, on the gentle touch of his hand on my face, that makes me believe him.
“I believe in you” he says as if reading my mind.
“Thank you, Mason” I say, hugging him again.
“We should probably go find Leah” he says after a while, breaking our hug. “She was very worried about you.”
“Yeah” I say, getting up and trying to wipe away the last tears from my face. “How do I look?”
“Like you’ve been crying” he chuckles. “But also like someone who isn’t going to let anyone else fuck with her.”
“Good” I say, taking a deep breath.
“And there she goes, England's future captain” he smiles qs I walk past him.
“Don’t say that to Leah” I say, smiling back.
“It’ll be our secret. That, and this place” he winks, that cute dimple of his showing.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“Leah, are you sure we are on time and that they didn’t change the schedule because it’s game day?” I ask her as we walk towards the canteen. “There is no one around.”
“We are in time, don’t worry” she says.
“Being late is the last thing I need” I say, letting out a big sigh.
“Please stop complaining, we won’t be late.”
“How do you know?”
“Because I know. Now just get in” she says, pointing at the canteen’s door.
“Urgh” I say, rolling my eyes.
“Surprise!” everyone says as I walk in.
“What the…” I mutter.
“Happy birthday, you idiot” Leah says, hugging me from behind and giving me a kiss on the cheek. “Cake boys!”
The crowd parts and Aaron and Mason show up carrying a big cake while everyone else sings happy birthday. I don’t know what to do, shocked that literally everyone is here. Both teams, all the staff members that work with us, the staff from St. George’s Park, the bus drivers… Literally everyone is here.
“Thank you” I finally manage to say once they’ve stopped singing, crying but smiling.
“Now you have to make a wish” Mason says, nodding towards the cake and the candles.
“Ok” I say, stopping to think for a few seconds. When I’m done blowing them all, everyone starts yelling and clapping.
“Grab your forks and plates, people! It’s time to eat!” Aaron says.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
I’m walking toward the bus, ready to leave for the stadium, when I hear someone calling after me.
“Birthday girl!” Mason says. “I thought I would miss you, I literally ran out of the shower.”
“I can tell” I say, pointing at his wet hair. His wet ugly hair.
“I didn’t want you to leave without giving you my present” he says, handing me a little box.
“You got me a present?” I ask.
“Of course I did!” he says. “Open it.”
I do as he says, my fingers shaking a bit. I’m nervous. Why am I nervous? Inside the little box, there is a necklace with my zodiac constelation. Gemini.
“It’s beautiful, Mason. Thank you.”
“Do you like it?” he asks.
“I do. I have others, but they aren’t like this one.”
“Great” he says. “I remembered seeing you wearing necklaces, and thought you would like it.”
“You noticed?” I ask, surprised that he has been paying attention to what I wear. First he remembered my special place, and now this.
“Yeah” he says, running a hand through his hair. Or trying to. “But you should go, I don’t want you miss the bus.”
“I’m the birthday girl, they’ll wait for me” I chuckle.
“Birthday girl, and future goal scorer.”
“You think I’ll score tonight?”
“Definitely. And we’ll celebrate later. Dec and Aaron are already getting everything ready for the party.”
“They are allowing us to have a party?”
“Only because it’s you” he smiles. “Now, go.”
“Yes, of course. Thank you, Mason” I say, giving him a kiss on the cheek before running towards the bus, the box and the necklace on my hand.

Fanfic Writer Wednesday
Tumblr media
I’ve been a little busy so apologies if this post is finding you on another day, but it’s still Wednesday where I am, so here we go.
Have any of you met @poledancingdinos yet?
I fell in love with You Got Me Hooked last year. So, so good. If you were making ends meet as a stripper, you’d want Sy as your roommate, believe me.
She’s got a good size masterlist that I haven’t spent nearly enough time in, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking it out. And though she says she sold her soul for Syverson’s thighs (let’s be real, who wouldn’t?), you’ll find more than just our favorite captain over there. There is a very nice drabble with Henry (if you’re into that sort of thing) as well.
She has a current series running, that I keep reading and failing to reblog for flails, but let me tell you I am in love with Leah Coleman, Warhorse’s newest tough little addition. You’ll find her holding her own against some real a-holes in Hostile Territory, slowly making friends, lusting privately after Sy, and maybe drawing his attention as well. It’ll take some time for them, I think, but the story is good! Check it out.
You guys, I really hope you are taking this task to heart. It’s about spreading some love. It doesn’t have to be for the writers I rec, but it’s always worth it. Click links, hit likes, post a comment, reblog for your followers to see as well.
Remember that we LOVE to hear from you. We love to know how our stories make you feel. We love when you tell someone, even just one other person about it, too. Yeah, we write because we love it, but we also share because we love the interactions.
As always...

For the headcanons ask thing - Harriet Hook?
Realistic
Yeah, so I spent far too much time thinking over the hierarchy in the port, and this is my qualified analysis ✨, in which all semi-insulting words are used in the most affectionate way possible, because I love them, Your Honour.
Anyway.
Both Harriet and Uma have pirate crews, right? (Also, Rise timeline is a suggestion because you don't get that kind of loyalty in that short time. You just don't.)
So. Two pirate crews, right?
Harriet's probably a bit better established, because Harriet is older and doesn't spend half her time fighting a petty feud with Mal.
On the other hand, Uma is That Bitch (affectionate), and decides that she'd like a little more control, thank you for asking.
(They might or might not fight. It is the most terrifying time the Isle kids can remember.)
Eventually, Harriet's reaction is essentially this: „What are you doing, girl?! Why are you doing this?! Really?! ... Oh, wait. I have, like, actual free time now. Keep doing it.“
(Look, she is tired. She deserves a break.)
...Yeah, no. She still doesn't know how to relax. But she now has the free time to do so! Occasionally!
Only too bad her favourite hobbies include wrestling with crocodiles and yelling at Judge Frollo.
(Fortunately for the Isle, she also has more time to keep CJ from blowing shit up. Which is a full time job in itself.)
Unrealistic but funny
There is a competition among the siblings over who can tag their name on the most ridiculous/impressive place.
Harriet is winning, despite the fact that no one ever sees ger in action. Which would be because out of her siblings, she is the only one with enough common sense to ditch her bright red cloak when doing shit that will likely upset a great number of dangerous people.
(She got her name on one of the the towers of Maleficent's castle; Harry got Castle across the way by flirting with Evie, and Frollo's is basically a free real estate.)
Heartbreaking
I think she has an alcohol problem. It runs in the family.
Her hangovers are the reasons CJ swore to never ever drink. (Also, CJ is a control freak and dreads losing control of her mind. Harriet, on the other hand, would like to forget. Everything.)
(Harry, as usual, is in the middle of the scale.)
Canon is a suggestion ✨
Once in Auradon, she and Uma get *psychotherapy license*, to help their crews, 'cos, you know, „if you wanna something done right, you gotta do it yourselves.“
(Yes, she does this without admiting she needs therapy herself. She has issues.)
She becomes Ben's therapist, because come on, the boy needs it, and because Uma would be biased in this case.
Like, yeah, her advice might consist mostly of „Punch them.“ („Can't do that unless I want to start a war.“ „...Punch them only a little?“) and „Sometimes, it's okay to start biting people,“ and „Cheers, I'll drink to that!“, but Ben adores her. She does give helpful advice occasionally and, what's more important, doesn't care that he is the High King of Auradon in the slightest.
She just gives no fuck.
Unlike all Auradonian therapists who are gonna dance around King's and Queen's feelings, she is not afraid to call him out when he is about to make a stupid decision or when he is being too nice for his own good.
Also, this lovely conversation between Mal and Ben:
Mal: „Ben? Why did you just throw Queen Leah out of the palace indefinitely?“
Ben: „My therapist told me, and I quote, to ‚never take any shit from that awful abusive old hag of a queen ever again.“
Mal: „...She was yelling the whole time she was packing her bags.“
Ben: „Not my problem.“
Mal: „You need a better therapist.“
Ben: „What is wrong wrong with Harriet?“
Mal, at the verge of panic attack: „Who the fuck gave Harriet Hook a therapy license?!“
(Ben invites Audrey to stay over until her grandmother cools off.)
And of course, this sweet exchange once Mal storms Harriet's office (on the off day she actually bothers to come)
Mal: „You are a therapist?! Why- What?!“
Harriet: gestures to the license on the wall
Mal: „Yeah! Who the fuck let you have that?!“
Harriet: „Oh, yeah. Trust me. I have no idea why they even let me take that course. I mean, look at me.“
Uma, from the office next door: „That would be because you cheated on your own psycho-evaluation exam!“
Harriet, shrugging: „Oh, yeah. That would do it. I have almost forgotten about that.“
(Say what you want, the pirate Captains are very effective therapists for the Isle kids.)
