Listen, although I do find it pretty exciting to see Kendall entering his Evil Era and actually becoming a killer, I can’t stop thinking about the consequences of him leaking all the shitty mud information they have on Logan. Like yeah, PR-wise that might be a great idea, it might actually solidify his position as a CEO (and he is obviously going to try and fuck up Matsson deal and take over the Waystar - I don’t know why he would want to captain the fucking sinking Titanic, but okay). But on the other hand, all the dirt coming out about Logan will be potentially catastrophic for Roman. Apart from the fact that Kendall is very clearly betraying his brother, literally like 5 seconds after he preached about them being a team; Roman will very likely suffer the most if stuff about Logan being an abusive father comes out.
First, it will flip his whole viewpoint upside down - he is so deep in denial and so trauma-bonded to Logan that he doesn’t even acknowledge his abuse, not even when in happens in real time. He doesn’t want to see his father as a monster and as his abuser, because that would actually require him to accept that he was a victim, that he was this beaten dog that everyone already sees him as (to one degree or another). Not to mention all the lies he tells himself about Logan and him being a good dad will go straight down the drain, and can you imagine what happens when something you believed for 40-or-so years cracks down in front of you? Kendall is about to break his reality.
Another aspect is that exposing Roman’s abuse to the whole world will likely destroy any and all opportunities that Roman ever had when it comes to rising to power (even if I’m unsure how much he actually cares about becoming a CEO). He might get some sympathy points, although I very much doubt that he will ever accept that form of pity from anyone. His image will be forever tainted and solidified as “the abused one” or the “one that was hit by his dad”. Can you imagine Roman’s reaction when that whole shitshow leaks? He does say at some point in the preview that he is finished, and although it might allude to Gerri putting out the whole dick pic situation, it might also very well be that his public image will forever now revolve around how his dad hit and abused him (his dad who was essentially his god in more than one way, who he was, and is trauma bonded to, who he came back to time and time again).
Kendall has a tendency of using his siblings trauma to forward his own position (even when he wanted to one up Logan in episode 2 by bringing up Roman’s and Connor’s trauma) and this is no different. But it’s a very easy way for him to blow up whatever alliance was ever between sibs. So yeah, I think Kendall as a killer is a great thing to watch, but also… well, Roman girl in me is already screaming in the void from the possible pain we might come to watch unravel in real time.

Do you think in the book that Daemon loved Rhaenyra genuinely or he just wanted power?
This is kind of a tough one for me just because I don't really ship Daemyra so I'm not someone who's going to be actively looking for the good sides of the ship. But I think, just looking at it objectively, it was a mixture of both.
Daemon is someone who is capable of feeling love, first and foremost. There are people who say he's a narcissist so the only person he can really love is himself, but I do think he loved Laena, I do think he felt some kind of way towards Nettles, especially considering what he was willing to do to help her escape, and I do think a part of him loved Rhaenyra. He was clearly sexually attracted to her, he clearly doted on her as a niece (and bad Targaryen boundaries/incest habits along with the way Westerosi society views women and their maturity), and they were very close in his time between coming back from the Stepstones and his marriage to Laena/exile in Essos. He spent time with her actually doing stuff, doing activities like hawking and just hanging out and talking about his life. He also did support Rhaenyra's claim during the Dance, when it might have even been more beneficial to him personally to support Aegon's side and the legal precedent of "male children above female children", especially considering the whole thing started due to him being displaced for Rhaenyra. But he stayed to support her, he fought for her, and even when Rhaenyra demanded that Nettles be killed, he was said to have responded sadly, not with his usual quick temper. There's also the fact that the consort of a monarch doesn't necessarily have a lot of power, and Daemon's role if Rhaenyra had actually reigned would have likely been that of "extra special Queensguard who's allowed to fuck the Queen" more than anything.
But there likely was a desire for power too. Rhaenyra could be molded by him to follow his way of thinking once she was in power, and Westerosi gender roles likely would have allowed him more influence than a queen consort would have to a male monarch. And with Rhaenyra as queen, and if anything Should Befall the Strongs I mean Velaryons, then it's his sons, his bloodline, that are in line for the throne, it's his line that continues House Targaryen. And of course, even without Daemon in King's Landing, it's still Daemon's people who had a lot of influence on Rhaenyra's queenship, like Mysaria, Daemon's former lover.
Ultimately, Daemon is written to be a person, not a black and white cartoon, and like most people, there are likely multiple motivations, often intertwined, for why he does the things that he does. I think it's not out of the question that part of his marriage and relationship with Rhaenyra was borne of genuine love, but while also thinking about what it could offer him and how it could advance his own power.

Currently obsessed with the idea of a DanShisu morality swap AU in the Narutoverse with Shisui being obsessed with Danzō (maybe Kagami was obsessed with him, too. Maybe it's a weird gene he passed down onto his grandson. Who knows) and mostly Shisui tries to keep it a secret to some extent, but some people in ROOT still know about it but they think that Shisui is Danzō's little thing to play with while the truth is that Danzō is Shisui's thing to play with and Danzō is completely caught in Shisui's web
Sorry for the late response, was trying to wonder about reply and also was a bit busy in the meantime ;;
I am an absolute sucker for morality swap! My first thought was, idk, older Shisui and young Danzo but honestly, the thought of Shisui corrupting Danzo as is is also a delight (I bullied once a friend into writing something like this for me uwu) but I wonder how that would work for canon AU, like, what would motivate Shisui into swaying Danzo onto more amoral path *thinking emoji*

Also people (other postdoc) are really frustrating today because they’re being VERY indirect with their questions. Like WHY do you want to know whether anyone else was asked to review a paper out of this special issue. Were you feeling combative and thinking you might have been asked to take on additional ~labor~? WHY do you ask me if it’s a good idea to get our class students to attend the events we’re putting on for the ling dept? Is it because you want to inform me that we SHOULD (since you’re citing our PI saying it’s a good idea)? Or are you actually asking me if this thing that would improve our attendance numbers and therefore look better is a thing that we should do… to improve our attendance numbers… and look better..?
Also undergrad, buddy, you KNOW where “the lab” is, which is why I didn’t elaborate further when I said that’s where we should meet today, because you were THERE when PI had us go on a lab tour for one of our lab meetings and when she explained that this space is shared by all of the psycholinguists and their students/lab members, and that’s why when you go to “the lab” for the OTHER PI you work with, you frequently see me working there even though I am not formally a member of other PI’s lab
I have a meeting with this undergrad and a grad student in an hour and I really need to shake off this incredible amount of irritation I’m feeling but oh my god WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THIS
