At the time you don't remember a lot from that day, only that you straight up offered to take care of Soundwave's cassettes so they wouldn't have to be locked in a cell. You had no idea what you were getting yourself into but you weren't going to back out either. Looking at Soundwave you saw the confusion flicker across his visor, bound and about to be transported to the G.H.O.S.T. holding cells where he was to remain.

You're an autobot, trusted by both Optimus and Megatron they agreed to allow this to happen for them to be in your care. You remember looking at Soundwave and staring at him, trying to figure out what the decepticon was thinking, which proved to be near impossible. You hoped that this might give Soundwave a small insight to rethink about the future, for the sake of their world and species. It's all about survival now.

While in your care the cassettes were unsure suddenly, or conflicted. Frenzy and Lazerbeak were a little more open but Ravage wasn't so fond of you but you chose to give it time. Over the months they warmed up to you and you were proud that they were able to trust you. They behaved like children but you cherished this. However, you could tell they missed Soundwave very much.

Turns out, all efforts with G.H.O.S.T. was pointless. You ended up under Mandroid's control, along with the autobots and Megatron. All you remember is being stuck, trapped in a blind whiteness that you couldn't get out of. You've never felt so scared before. The next thing to happen is for you to wake up and there is Soundwave right in front of you, his shoulder blaster flared up and aiming directly at you. If it wasn't for his cassettes jumping in front of you he might've taken the shot. They begged him to not hurt you, and he listened, downpowering his weapon.

After everything it was time to clean up the mess. It was decided to give the decepticons one more chance and they finally accepted, but refused to become autobots. It was decided for Soundwave to live with you as well so he could be watched. You were a little nervous since he did try to kill you, but felt safe knowing he only wanted to be with his cassettes again.

Being under control felt like a part of you was torn apart. For a time you weren't yourself, even with the cassettes trying to help you. It was Soundwave though who ended up helping you move on. How? Well, that's where things get interesting.

Things started happening when you noticed Soundwave playing music, but not just any music, they were your favourites back on Cybertron. You haven't heard anything like that in a long while. You did ask Soundwave why he played them and his answer was that music can help with recovery. You were a little surprised to hear this, not really thinking that Soundwave cared.

You were very wrong there.

Then the cassettes got dragged in, or they decided to play a part. For example, near the human holiday Christmas, Frenzy and Lazerbeak bring you to Soundwave, where Ravage brings him to as well. A random spot. Above you both there was a mistletoe. A silly thing the humans did you thought. Apparently you're meant to kiss the other if you both were to stand under it.

Looking at Soundwave you expect him to turn away thinking the cassettes game was childish, but he doesn't. He's staring right at you, his visor dimming a little as you hold the stare back. It is as if everything went silent around you as he steps closer, closing the distance, and you're surprised to see his mouth guard retract, relieving lips underneath.

His servo moves up to your cheek plating causing your plating to heat up a little, then you watch as he tilts his helm and presses his lips against your own for a tender kiss. It's only short but the feeling of his lips over your own was like sweet energon, you wanted more of it. He pulls away and his mouth guard slides back over, and you can only stand there speechless. The cassettes let out a cheer making you snap out of your thoughts and realise what just happened. Soundwave kissed you. Why did he kiss you? Because of the mistletoe? It had to be only for that reason.

You're wrong again.

Soundwave acts differently around you from there onward, more fondly and even opening up. You even start to recharge better, the nightmares slowly becoming less frequent and you find yourself spending more time with Soundwave with the cassettes' encouragement. You find yourself becoming closer towards him, always seeking to be around him as you notice he does the same with you. You're both just always together. Eventually, he asks you out on a date.

You agree.

Asking Bumblebee to watch the cassettes without telling him you and Soundwave had a date was a little bit of a challenge as he wasn't overly fond of the childish smaller cons, but with the Terrans help he agreed finally. It's not like you were ashamed, but for now you just want to keep what's happening between both you and Soundwave to yourselves. Soundwave takes you to Witwicky's viewpoints. The snow fall is still fairly new as it comes down all over, and you had to admit it's rather beautiful. Over the time you've been on earth you've found the snow to have a peaceful effect.

"Y/N." You hear him say your name, making you turn your attention to him. "Are you happy?"

"Happy?" You question with a tilt of your helm. "Well, yeah, I guess I am. Honestly I haven't felt happy for a long while, but you and your cassettes have helped. Just having you all around, in my life, it's brought a comfort I can't help but relish."

"Like a family?"

You smile softly. "Yeah, like a family. What about you, are you happy?"

He's quiet, turning his helm as if he's looking away. "I am."

Is he blushing?

Your smile grew more. In the past you've fought with Soundwave in combat, primus, he was even about to shoot you more than a bunch of times, now here you both were on a date. Crazy how things turn out sometimes.

"I never thanked you for taking care of my cassettes." He finally meets your optics again and goes on. "Or apologise for almost shooting you. So, thank you, and I'm sorry."

You stare at him, optics softening as you hear this.

"You're welcome, and it's alright. I wasn't myself, you had every right to try and stop me." You answer back, flinching a little when a snow flack lands on your face, causing a soft smirk to come from you. "The snow fall tickles my face."

You feel his servo against your cheek plating then, right where the snow flake had fallen. His digit traces gently into you and you can't help but lean into his touch. Soundwave steps closer and you watch his mouth guard retract back, showing you his lips once again like the first time. He kisses you, and you welcome it.

Both your servos rest against his shoulder plates, tilting your helm and slowly deepening the kiss you both shared. Letting out a soft muffled gasp you feel his glossa roll out, tangling with your own running across your denta's as you did the same to him back. The taste of him fueled your desires so wildly, something you've never felt before.

Pressing up closely your kiss only grows hotter and more demanding. Both his and your servos roam across each other, feeling every curve and plating, your spark pulsing in your chamber making you gasp from the overwhelming emotion. Breaking the kiss you look at Soundwave through dimmed optics, a thousand questions rushing through your mind but only a few were a top priority.

"What's happening?" You manage to whisper against his lips between the heated kiss. "What is this?" You're so confused by what your spark is screaming out for.

"Connection." Soundwave answers, your optics watching his lips move is so fascinating. He holds you close and presses his helm against the front of yours fondly. "Bond."

"Bond?" You are not sure what it means.

He moves his free servo over your chassis, directly where your spark is and you feel yourself pulse strongly under his touch. With his other he moves your servo over his own chassis and you feel his own spark thumping wildly under your contact.

It hits you then. "Is this...?" You're unable to finish, going speechless.

"Affirmative." He answers through what sounds like a low moan.

It's love. Both your sparks were desperately reaching out for one another, demanding for contact. It's Soundwave that asks the big question.

"Y/N, will you become my conjunx endura?" It's a serious question, and yet you answer truthfully.

"Yes." There is no doubt in your voice.

Somehow you end back up at your base, the old G.H.O.S.T. building that was given to both autobots and decepticons to use for themselves. No one notices either of you returning in a hurry and head right into your quarters. Inside you're both lost in a deep and passionate kiss, glossas dominating one another as your moans vibrate through each other with a blinding desire.

You want this, so bad, and you can feel his longing for you as well. His servos suddenly grip under your thighs and lift you up under his stronghold making you gaps against his lips that fall into a low desperate moan. Others might think you both are a little crazy to rush things, but never have you felt so right about something and feel that urgency to commence this completely, tonight. Your legs wrap around his slender waist and hold on tightly as he carries you over to the berth, laying you down and joining you on the berth as it creaks a little under both your weights.

His servos move down you, his visor holding your stare as your optics furrow a little, curious about what he is doing before you feel a sudden gentle pulse that bursts from every sensitive spot in you and goes directly to your spark and already heated valve. What was that?

It doesn't take long for you to figure it out. He's using his little trick on your, sonic pulses vibrating from his servos, running through his digits as they rush through you in the most pleasurable way. Well, the mech knew how to touch, that you figured out real fast. Guess it's a weapon not just for war, but for pleasure too.

Your back arches as he continues this, his mouth moving to your inner neck cables as he suckles and nips at each one in the most seductive way possible, causing more beautiful sounds to echo from your vocals for him to reish. He continues this, teasing you through each rocking pulse, before gripping at your waist and tugging you against his heated panel.

Letting out a throaty gasp from the heated contact you look up at him as he hovers before you smile between heated breaths and lean up to kiss him firmly. He returns the kiss, just as he grinds himself into you. Enough teasing, you can't keep doing this. You want to be filled by him, and join your sparks.

It's like he read your processor, because he moves suddenly again, giving a harsh thrust into you with his panel retracted and throbbing spike rubbing against your, trans fluids dripping onto your still closed panel. Acting quickly you retract your own finally, letting out a moan as he does this a few more times. Before you can say anything he suddenly pressed himself into your valve, sinking inch by inch as you both carry on with noise and heavy vents.

Your helm hits the berth once he's fully within her clenching depths, your valve twitching with each rapid pulse from his throbbing cable. He withdraws, and sinks back in, gaining a rhythm as he lays closely over you, holding you as he frags you slow and firmly.

Holding his gaze you caress his check plating as you rock under him with each thrust, gasping softly and clenching more around him, loving every bit of thickness he gives. He sits up on his knee pads and pulls you up against his chassis, having you half straddle him as he rests back a little, your servos moving across his shoulder armour before coming to the back of his helm and sharing a kiss with him.

You hear metal shifting and then there's an illuminating light between the both of you. Soundwave's blue spark pulses rapidly, begging for a connection right in front of them. After staring for a bit you finally open your own chamber, the same blue spark pulsing right back from you.

Soundwave then leans into your audio, whispering. "I love you."

Such beautiful tender words, it makes you almost melt. "I love you too." Is your answer back.

Then it happens. Both your sparks join finally, entwining together in their own rapid merging together. The shock causes your back to arch under Soundwave's servos as he keeps hold so he doesn't lose you, his thrusts short and quick now, rutting into your dripping valve over again. Your node is being grinded harshly in the most incredible way causing your overload to build more within your core.

You start feeling it, the contact forming between you and Soundwave, a new bond to share for eternity.

"Soundwave...primus...It's so much!" You manage to find your voice before burying your face into his neck as you hold on tightly, short groans heard after each thrust that is drilled into you, Soundwave's grunts mixing in together.

"So good. So pure. So beautiful." He says back through heated vents before kissing you deeply. His hips still and you feel his fluids suddenly soaking your inner depths warmly.

You overload right there with him. Your juices mix with his fluids as you rock your hips still, savouring every second. It's not over yet. Your sparks are still merging, but it's very incense and you feel a second overload about to burst through you.

Letting out a loud cry of bliss you feel your sparks burst together in a blinding light. It's done. You're both now bonded. Your second overload hits right through you before Soundwave finally stops moving all together and lays you back down on the berth.

You're tired, but you feel so incredible all over. Soundwave removes himself from your valve and your chassis, both closing up quietly before he lays right beside you and caresses your warm cheek plating. You could've sworn he is purring, and you love every bit of it.

In your new bond he's sending all sorts of warmth to you, making you hum in delight and lean up to kiss him again. You love his lips, you love him, everything about him you craved. When the kiss is broken he's smiling down at you, so tender and loving.

"Thank you." Is all you can say to him through your tired state.

"No, thank you." He answers back fondly.

Embracing Soundwave you hold onto him, your vents slowly down that turn into low hums while savouring the aftershocks of the intense overloads you both shared. Never have you felt so complete, feeling the silky warmth of the newly created bond between you two. There are no regrets, no conflict, just pure joyness.

You're now his as he's yours, your conjunx endura.

Another day, another random dimension drop off.

Buddy landed on top of a haystack next to some apple trees.

They groaned as they felt something lick the side of their face.

They opened their optics to find a familiar looking calf.

Floppy ears.

And their home was right there!

Buddy quickly got up and started walking over to the home with the calf mooing happily behind them.

Buddy peaks into the kitchen spotting Alex cooking something on the stove.

“Hello there Mr. Malto.”--Buddy

Alex shrieks a bit holding the spatula in his hand as a weapon.

He looks closer at the optics of the Predacon before recognizing them.

“Buddy? Buddy, it’s been so long! Hold on one moment.”--Alex

Alex turns off the stove and runs outside to meet Buddy.

Alex hugs their pede as Buddy gently rubs his back.

He lets go.

“What are you doing back? Not that it’s a problem, but—”--Alex

Buddy right now didn’t care that they would get seen.

They were worried about the kids.

Whoever this Mandriod was going to be a pile of burning ash when they were done with him if any of the kids were hurt.

Soon enough they found some bots.

Optimus, Megatron and Elita were struggling against the pink spider webs.

Buddy descending from above.

“Buddy?”—Elita, Megatron, and Optimus

Buddy leans down to let Alex come down.

They look at the restrains on Elita’s frame and dig their dentas into the webs and with one swift pull yanked most of them free from her frame.

“Thanks!”--Elita

“Where are the kids?”--Buddy

They heard screams.

Buddy mad dashes through the vegetation to the sound.

They spot a dozen robotic spiders start to corral Nightshade, Thrash and Mo.

Buddy lunged from the trees taking out most of the spiders.

Some managed to attach themselves onto their back, but Buddy quickly got rid of them before any permanent damage could be done.

They spewed fire at the remaining, reducing them to melted metal.

“Buddy!”--Maltos

The three ran to them and hugged their friend tightly.

Buddy wrapped their wings around them in relief before remembering the other.

“Where are the others?”--Buddy

They heard more yelling.

“Nightshade, Thrash, Mo follow my path and head back to Megatron and your father.”--Buddy

Buddy had already started running before they heard the rest.

Thankfully, the others weren’t too far either.

Twitch, Hashtag, Jawbreaker, Dot, and Robbie were all being suspended by one of the webs as the spiders closed in.

Buddy leaped on top of them shaking the earth bellow as they swiped the other spiders with their tail.

Buddy stood in front of them wings spread in full display and roared before spewing the robots with fire.

Once they were done, they turned back worried at the children.

“Are you all okay?”--Buddy

“Buddy!”--Maltos

Buddy nipped the webs and caught them as they fell.

They ran to give Buddy a hug as Buddy finally sighed in relief.

The danger was over.

The others soon appeared from the rather large opening in the forest their frame caused.

Everyone looked relief to see everyone safe and sound.

The group decided to return home.

As soon as they convinced Buddy to stop looking for Mandriod himself.

Optimus and Megatron trying to stop Buddy from going any further in the forest.

“You two need to let me go right now. That monster needs to be found and—”--Buddy

“So what? So, you can light him on fire?”--Elita

“The offer is on the table.”--Buddy

Dot gets in front of Buddy.

“Buddy… lets just go home. It’s been a rough day for all of us. Anyways there is no way of tracking down Mandriod. Not even G.H.O.S.T. can find him.”--Dot

Mo comes over to Buddy’s pede and gently grabs it.

Buddy sighs in defeat and soften their optics at the child.

Buddy gently opens their wings and herds the group out of the forest.

Elita looks at Optimus and Megatron.

A few more days passed with Buddy staying at the Maltos home filled with activities and more reunions before the portal came back.

There were more tearful goodbyes and promises to return whenever the portal came back for them.

Buddy exiting the portal, slightly stumbling on the ground.

“Ratchet. How’s the work coming along?”--Buddy

What do you feel is more concerning for children with what is in the EarthSpark series; all of the clear terror and death, or having a they/them pronouned character?

Because the terror and death is seemingly entirely looked over but the ONE CHARACTER going by different pronouns is apparently nothing short of outrage.

Earthspark drinking game take a sip every time an extremely young child has to emotionally support an adult or is put in life-threatening danger.

1. Steven Universe really ruined a generation of children’s media by making showrunners think they had to tackle issues like PTSD and trauma.

However, to give SU some credit, Steven was not 9 years old at the start of the show. It’s a really jarring choice that was probably made to capitalise on a more marketable demographic for TF and to keep the children’s play more lighthearted, but you get some really weird moments like (checks notes) a nine year old giving advice to an adult on how to handle trauma.

The issue with this is no nine year old should ever have to do this for an adult. They do not need to be wise beyond their years. They do not need to be a therapist for their caretakers. Grimlocks PTSD episode is one of the most egregious examples of this, where (not only is this depiction extremely one-note and weird) the narrative punishes Jawbreaker for not realising Grimlock is having a panic attack in the middle of their play.

As a framing device in a kids movie, what is a nine year old viewer supposed to take from this? The child brain is going to think ‘the adult lashed out and hurt Jawbreaker, it was his fault for being too rowdy.’ LIKE YOU WOULDNT SEE THIS IN PEPPA PIG.

And you do need to consider this when you’re writing children that young in your media, because kids are going to watch shows that have other kids the same age as them in it. There’s an almost instinctive camaraderie in seeing a fellow nine-year-old on TV when you’re at that age. So, the show is very likely going to be watched by 8-15 year olds which brings us to

2. JESUS CHRIST. THIS SHOW NEEDS TO CALM DOWN.

This show is way way way too interested in putting children in extreme danger. Constantly, towards the end of the series.

I’ll make a note first that it’s okay if kids shows have fun play-violence; kids like action. Children like low-stakes explosions. It’s not super serious and most TF media does this well, even if it’s tonally a bit more serious. This is not really an issue in a show like TFP or TFA which also had young kids.

Earthspark does not make its action low-stakes. Earthspark treats its violence extremely seriously; children cry, they scream, they get bruised, their parents wail when they see them in danger. Violence has a lasting impact, it has to because the show constantly wants to talk about trauma, so they can’t have video game rules. If they get hurt it has to impact them. Robbie and Mo are in consistent, life-threatening danger. They’re always being shot at or dropped off cliffs or almost killed and it always harrows them.

And kids can pick up on this. They’re going to realise that this is something that’s Serious, and Scary, and they’re going to be FREAKED out.

They’re also going to be freaked out when the children are fuckin. Tied into the bio-wall with tubes by Mandroid, or when Robbie has alien leukaemia and his parents are so so scared and has to rush him to the hospital and Mo is crying so much, or when their parents are seemingly killed and the kids are screaming and punching the ground and blaming themselves.

And that last part is important, because on several occasions the narrative reinforces this. The narrative. Of a children’s show. Says yes; Robbie and Mo have powers, and this makes them responsible for the well-being of the adults around them. Mo literally gets told this. By GOD. Before her parents proudly watch on without interfering as she fights in hand to hand combat with the villain (WHO IS, AS WE HAVE SEEN, FUCKING DERANGED AND WOULD LOVE TO KILL A TEENAGER JUST ONCE PLEASE PLEASE)

In conclusion, what this tells me is the showrunners are inexperienced. They didn’t consider what is appropriate for the subject matter of a children’s cartoon. They wanted to write about trauma, and war, and think kids are cute! And didn’t want their TF fanfiction to be narratively compromised by having to ‘dumb it down’ for kids.

The result is this is never a show I would ever put on for a 4th grade class in break time, at the risk of severely upsetting a lot of them. And it’s also a show I can’t enjoy as an adult, because it uses the language of a children’s cartoon to make nuanced topics more binarised and soppy.

I can’t stop thinking about Earthspark/Prime crossover stuff:

-Hashtag would have a huge crush on Arcee

-Fowler would instinctively know Dot is ex military

-Fowler would also wonder who thought it was a good idea to give Schloder a gun

-Schloder would want to go on missions with Fowler

-A fight almost breaks out between TFP Ratchet and the Maltos because he wants to force the Terrans to come with Team Prime. Miko and Fowler are pretty sure the Maltos would’ve won

-Knock Out would want to kill Mandroid on principle

-Nightshade, Ratchet, Hashtag, and Raf would be THE TECH SQUAD though I feel like Ratchet would find Hashtag annoying

Seeing Megatron cry when being controlled by mandroid to kill twitch REALLY fucks with me. Because we’ve known Megatron to hate his mind being tampered with because of his trauma with his slavery/abuse. We know that because he was a slave, which is a type of violent and vicous abuse, his bodily autonomy was more than likely violated multiple times. When he ended the war and joined the Autobots, and in turn, entrusted his life to GHOST he didn’t expect to be made a slave again. He didn’t expect to have his autonomy fucked with in one of the most horrendous ways. And again, not only did he realize he was going to kill Twitch but he also realized that he was probably reliving his greatest fears, and having to relive his abuse again but this time, he was going to hurt people. He couldn’t control himself, he couldn’t snap out of it. All he could do was cry.

I HOPE that this is brought up in S2. I hope that this type of trauma from having your bodily autonomy violated over and over again, even when you thought it couldn’t ever happen again, is addressed with Megatron. Megatron really poses himself as someone who has gotten over a lot of his trauma and is moving on and healing, but that—him crying (even if it’s in a deleted scene), and realizing that he can so easily be made a slave again, and hurt the people he loves…they’re going to have to delve into that.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if he stopped trusting humans completely after this. Because the same way Primes and elites in cybertron were seen as the people who abused/oppressed him, the humans are the same.

On top of that, it’s not the same for everyone else. Yes, all the other bots were mind controlled but they didn’t have hisotries of slavery, the didn’t have histories of violation of bodily autonomy the way megatron did. They didn’t have to live through that cycle of abuse where your body isn’t your own. Megatron started the war so that could never happen to anyone again, but especially him. And now, when he thought he ended the war and found peace, it’s like nothing changed.

Saying this as someone who watched all of TFP as a teen and had it as the first TF show they watched all the way through: Earthspark is really the anti-TFP, isn't it? lol Spoilers for both shows:

In Earthspark, the show is centered on Black characters who are being threatened and strong-armed by a military organization, instead of having the only main Black character be happy to be in the military. A military base is the safe haven in TFP and a prison in Earthspark.

On that note, Earthspark doesn't joke around about the trauma of people of color (still not over how the premiere of TFP jokes about Fowler being tortured) and always follows it up across multiple episodes.

We also get to have detailed explorations of the ethnicities of the main characters, instead of... well, basically nothing with humans like Miko and Raf in TFP.

The show doesn't waste the viewers' time with lengthy relic hunts that later devalue the relics' power. The villains in Earthspark want a relic, they have the resources to go get it, then the heroes get it back. When the villain fails in that plan, he just goes off and gets new weapons to use.

It's clearly stated multiple times that nobody deserves to be abused, even if they do bad things, and they use Starscream (who was relentlessly abused and mocked for it in TFP) to make this point, too, though they also make it a point with Shockwave and probably had Mandroid murder Croft—who had been exploiting him—for this reason.

Earthspark has beautiful and lush backgrounds that are constantly in motion, which TFP almost never had due to budgetary constraints.

TFP had a lot of homophobic and misogynistic elements, like when it had Arcee be disgusted by the color pink (???) or Smokescreen called Starscream a "stiletto-heeled freak," while Earthspark represents a wide range of women with varying gender expression and has a main non-binary character whose journey is key and who is also not mocked or tokenized.

There's a lot of discussion of war crimes still being wrong even when the people committing them want to protect the Earth, whereas in TFP a lot of really disturbing behavior like strapping a bomb to an enemy POW or suggesting torture as a method of interrogation was just sort of... not addressed at all.

I'm sure there's a lot of other stuff too, but this is just really noticeable off the top of my head.

You know, after watching the last batch of Earthspark, I was really disappointed for a number of reasons. I was angry about it.

But then I learned the producers were treated terrible by Paramount and had no choice but to end a lot of things in season one, now I'm not mad at them at all. I instead curse Paramount forever.

so....I'll write some headcanons I was looking forward to in Earthspark. I maybe do a series of related posts. Today is about one of the most important characters, Starscream.

Let me make one thing clear: I have no beef with his redemption. No, rather, I believed that Earthspark would do it as a matter of course. I never once doubted it.

The one of themes in Earthspark is "Second Chance". Starscream is the character in the Transformers franchise who most deserved a second chance, the character who could become the most dramatically three-dimensional with a second chance. Even though S1C was made under pressure to wrap everything up quickly, his redemption eventually came, which is what the show was meant to do from the beginning. The problem is, because the story had to be wrapped up in one season, all the dramatic plot points, connections between moments that should have been important, and characterizations were weakened across the board.

We are happy with his Redemption, but this is Earthspark. Not TFP. That means, we once had the opportunity to explore Starscream's character much more deeply. Not just in one episode, but a few.

Especially since I was serious about what was hinted at in the Warzone episode, I was disappointed that it wasn't used in the story.

I've seen several theories about that episode, the conclusion was that Starscream was caught in the Space Bridge explosion and was officially declared dead. I was actually pretty sure. That's why his appearances were low throughout the season, and he survives the explosion, BECAUSE Allspark revives him and fuses with him, right?

It makes it natural for Megatron to talk about the battle like that way and reveal his trauma, especially if he thought he lost both Shockwave and Starscream because of his actions. (This explains Soundwave's anger too.)

So Starscream was treated as dead, but actullay he was secretly imprisoned by the evil GHOST. He was unconscious when it happened, so it would have taken him a long time to figure out what was going on. He doesn't know that others to think he's dead. He sees his comrades locked the cell and thinks Megatron has really abandoned them.

This misunderstanding would have been a very important source of conflict when he was later reunited with Megatron. I even expected him to be the one to reveal the truth about GHOST.

I was almost certain that the GHOST and Mandroid plots would carry over into S2, so I thought it would be a conflicted ending with Starscream revealing the truth at the end of S1. It would have been nice if Starscream's character to be explored at the beginning of S2, along with his redemption, and the past war story.

And that would have made for some interesting drama not only between him and Megatron, but also with Optimus.

Imagine if that really happened. Starscream insists GHOST is wrong. How do you think Optimus and Megatron would take it?

Yeah, I can hear their doubts up here.

The point is, Starscream is seen as untrustworthy. Megatron would have a 50/50 chance of trusting him, but Optimus certainly wouldn't. From his perspective, Starscream would be seen as trying to drive a wedge between him and Megatron and reignite the war. In this situation, no one is lying, but someone ends up being unfairly labeled a liar. Optimus would compromise for the sake of the people he cares about, but they wouldn't include Starscream.

And I think this is the perfect moment for Hashtag to appear!!

Like, she's going to show up and be one who believes Starscream. If she believes in him, so do some of the Terrans – not all of them for now – but eventually the Hashtag and the Terrans believe in Starscream, and it would be really touching if that led to his redemption!

(also it inspires Terrans to dig into the truth of the GHOST themselves)

After it was revealed that he had an Allspark inside of him, he must have had an internal conflict. When he realized that the hope of his home planet and their people lay within him, could he handle it?

He struggles with it, but eventually does something heroic to help the Terrans. Maybe he uses the power of Allspark.

Terrans believe in Starscream when even Optimus doesn't, and it changes him, it would have fulfilled the show's message – Everyone deserves their second chance.

If S2 doesn't improve the story focus...

Decepticon fan speaking here. I love them, I want to see them getting the limelight, but Earthspark isn't their show. It's about the Terrans and their relationship with the Malto family. There are over a dozen other media where your favourite classics get their spotlight but this show might not be one of them. We have to accept that.

However, EarthSpark's big problem is its disregard of its own main characters to the point the audience care more about the side characters.

Long ramble ahead.

From Season 1, Earthspark has the tendency to disregard their own main characters for the sake of already existing ones. Thrash, Robby, Jawbreaker, and the parents are big victims here.

Thrash, despite being the other first Terran, gets little to no development. He only had one focus episode that shifted his positive view of Cybertronians yet it didn't affect his characteristic or the family dynamic whatsoever. He could've been involve in other episodes focusing on the triplets, specifically with Nightshade, like Twitch with Hashtag, but he doesn't. In the end, his canvas is just like his paint job -- empty white.

Robby could've get 4 episodes about him only for 3 of them to be shifted to Twitch & Wheeljack, Starscream, Mo. Never mind the Wheeljack episode and "Prime Time" but "What Dwells Within" is the worst of them all. Now it appears Season 2 is heavily focusing him after S1 dismisses him multiple times.

Starscream, I'm sorry what you've been through, but that episode should never be about you. Robby is sick, the Terrans got rocky with other due to the lost link which triggered Hashtag's trauma of getting possessed, and then they lost their LIFE SOURCE WATER. Earthspark wanted the audience to side with Starscream so bad they put him in the pity light instead of laying out hints of his past in previous episodes and allow the viewers to decide for themselves. The dude's a millennium old soldier, not another Terran.

EDIT: The same case goes for Grimlock. As bad as the dude has gone through in "Home", he's also a millennium-old soldier. He knows he's going through PTSD but Jawbreaker doesn't. JB is a newborn. Instead of celebrating JB when he finally got his alt mode, the moment made viewers hate him because it focuses on Grimlock's point of view.

[IMPORTANT NOTE FOR JB FANS: DO NOT GO TO TRANSFORMEMES SUBREDDIT!! RECENTLY, A USER THERE CAUSED TERRAN HATERS TO POP UP AND WISHING J.B TO DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH BECAUSE HE ACTED LIKE AN OVEREXCITED KID]

The parents... Oh dear their potentials are wasted soooo much. Ignoring Dot's relationship with Megs, they've become mere placements to remind the audience that Robby & Mo aren't poor orphans.

Dot being a veteran is to make her relationship with Megs sound plausible, that's all. Meanwhile Alex's profession in Cybertronian history is only relevant in the pilot episode and he only told the most basic one in lore. They never fuss about the cybersleeves, they seem available all the time but not really, they're ignorant of their children's activities, completely fine with them becoming child soldiers. Dot could've been the one to beat Mandroid to pulp in Prime Time like the Mama Bear she's described to be but no - let the nine year old beat him with alien powers. Alex could've played a bigger role for the Terrans to know about Cybertronians in general; for Nightshade especially by being the one who enables their intelligence and tinkering skills - not just leading them to finding their alt mode.

The show should've made Mo the same age as Robby. You can't ignore that they act like twins more than Twitch & Thrash despite the 5 year age gap. For a nine year old, she has high emotional intelligence yet so inconsiderate and naive at the same time in certain episodes. Pick one personality, please.

Finally, why oh why didn't they fix her face and head size? It looks a lot worse now.

TLDR; don't be surprised by the sudden change in character of the Cons. Earthspark doesn't respect their own main characters except Twitch. So let us heed Season 2 with low expectations.

So if Season 2 of Earthspark had started with the Decepticons and Autobots reconciled, I wouldn't have batted an eye. It's a cartoon, that is par for the course.

HOWEVER I'm happy the show didn't go that route, I'm happy the Decepticons are still the antagonists.

Joining forces to fight a common foe makes sense; Mandroid wanted to destroy ALL robots. We see these teamups a lot (and I love them every time), they happened in G1, Beast Wars, and TFP off the top of my head. But typically when the threat is over, so is the alliance.

Look at this from the Decepticons' perspective: Megatron leads them to this backwater planet, changes sides, and DESTROYS the only way back to Cybertron. For the crime of existing on this planet, which you never wanted to go to and cannot leave, Megatron + the Autobots assist GHOST in hunting you down (even if you're non-violent) to be imprisoned and experimented on. And when do the Autobots turn against GHOST? Only after GHOST starts targeting them and the Terrans.

Don't you think the Decepticons would see that in a cynical light? "Oh, it's a problem when the leopards eat YOUR face, huh?" And would Mandroid even have had all that power if the Autobots hadn't enabled GHOST, who enabled Mandroid?

Hashtag was really empathetic towards Starscream and I do believe he is fond of her. But it would be odd for him to give up his ambitions and ideology because a child was kind to him. You can like a child and hate their parents. And if we're talking about Starscream's PTSD being his big motivator . . . all the Terrans and Autobots are besties with Megatron, the guy who caused it. (If anything I would expect Starscream to kidnap Hashtag, like "this is for your own good, everyone except ~me~ is a bad influence." Actually I would love this as a mini-arc.)

Tarantulas is the only Decepticon who I could see immediately switching sides because he was very lukewarm about being a 'Con and really only cared about doing science and surviving. But I don't think he showed up in the finale so I'm not sure he's aware of what went down.

Anyway, I do think it's likely many (or maybe all) of the Decepticons will eventually resolve things with the Autobots, I just think it will be better if they let it play out naturally instead of making it instant like flipping a switch.

Now stuck on earth the war was over and after those wild events with GHOST and Mandroid you of course encounter them again, and just like any other time, you fall for the seeker trance.

"I bet you missed us." You hear Nova Storm's whisper in your audio as she stands behind you, servos wrapping around your sensitive wing tips as she touches and pinches them in all the right places making you shudder and squirm in desire.

"Of course she did, her valve is so lubricated." Skywarp adds from below. You look down only to receive a wink from her before she dove her glossa forward into her aching valve again.

This causes you to let out a high pitched moan, helm tossing back against Nova Storm's shoulder. She takes her chance and claims your lips with her own earning a surprised gasp from you, but you didn't move away.

Instead, you welcome it, leaning up into your lips and deepening it. Your glossa dances smoothly with her own, brushing along her dentas and feeling her smirk against your lips.

With yourself already supported by both femmes you shift your leg up over Skywarp's shoulder pad, being careful of her wing and tugging her against your valve more to hold her there, feeling her glossa move within your twitching depths causing another lingering moan to leave you.

Not too far off from the three femmes, lustful blue optics in the shadows watch you three before they finally step closer. Starscream's smugness always gets to you, both annoying and alluring.

"Well isn't this lovely. Reunited again!" Starscream cackles lightly making you shudder in delight at the sound of his voice. "It's always a pleasure, y/n, literally." His smile, that damn smile, it's an addition you always crave to see.

He stands beside the three of you. Nova Storm pulls away from your lips only for Starscream to claim them with a greedy smile. His servo moves up to your chin with his digits holding you in place as if you were going to move away from the kiss, which you don't because you didn't want to.

Skywarp latches onto your node and sucks at it, causing your hips to thrust up and let out a surprised squeal against Starscream's lips.

You can hear Nova Storm giggling behind you as she caresses your wings, digits tracing over your autobot insignia. "She makes the most adorable sounds."

You can't help yourself though, they simply brought it all out from you.

Starscream tilts his helm as he runs his glossa along your own before he gently bites into your lower lip, tugging as he pulls away before letting go and snickering softly at your aroused reaction.

"Oh you're a delightful treat, y/n. We always enjoy your company."

You let out a stuttered vent as you feel yourself become more aroused and needy. Stupid seekers just know where to touch you, and above all it's been far too long since you've had a decent overload.

Skywarp pops back up and moves around to share a lovely kiss with Nova Storm, two bond mates sharing a moment together.

It's Starscream that takes hold of your servos and tugs you against his cockpit, sharing another kiss as you welcome it by wrapping your arms around his neck, leaning more passionately into the kiss.

Backing up against a large tree Starscream holds you close as he lifts you up under his servos, your legs wrapping around his waist as her exposed valve presses into his closed heated panel, earning a deep groan from the infamous seeker before pressing himself back for balance.

Skywarp and Nova Storm both lean beside you both, sharing an embrace and intimate kisses with one another as you dominate Starscream's lips with need and rub your servos across his wings making him shutter under your touches. The only control you can have for one moment is this.

There is a soft sound of metal shifting and you immediately feel Starscream's throbbing cable emerge and rub along your soaking valve, the tip jumping against your node which sends a strong quiver through your frame.

He positions you over him and gives a wicked grin.

"Just like old times." Starscream whispers into your audio before implanting you down directly onto him roughly.

The sudden fullness causes you to yelp through a hiss, but this doesn't last as you support yourself against his shoulder pads and ride him, heated vents leaving you while feeling his thickness and every ridge stretching you perfectly.

Starscream gives you the control as he leans back, watching you riding him so eagerly gives him a sort of smug pride as he lets his servos grip into your waist, digits leaving marks into your protoform under your armour plating and lingering groans leaving him.

It is Skywarp's turn as she inserts her digits into Nova Storm's valve, pumping them as the two go at it together wildly in their own moment. You like it, the show, the power, it brings a warm flutter in your tanks.

Starscream lets out a purr followed by his heated grunts at each movement you gave. "You enjoy this everytime we meet. Admit it." He expects an answer, and you give him one.

"Make me." Your childish answer makes him snicker wickedly.

"Oh, I plan to." Without warning he thrusts up into you, snapping his hips at a firm and short pace, not giving you much time as you're forced to hump him more, his cable throbbing like crazy within your clenching valve, letting out all sorts of sounds.

It's not like you're anywhere busy, just in the forest surrounding area.

Your node grinds against him with each thrust and you react perfectly the way he wants, by craving for more and finally admitting it. "Yes! I do!"

"That's a good femme." Starscream lets out a pleased moan feeling you clench around him so snuggly.

"Frag...frag!" Skywarp curses out, now having her bond mates digits inside her and rubbing at her own node, humping her as she kisses her deeply, feeling her climax building and soon enough she will snap.

Unable to hold back your vocals anymore you cry out in bliss against Starscream's neck, riding his cable in sync with his strong movements and seeking your climax. It's been far too long.

"I want to watch you overload on me, y/n. Ride me more, give yourself to me, fall apart." Starscream does enjoy the control he has over you, and yet you didn't mind it.

"Starscream, I'm close." You manage to whisper against his lips, feeling his smirk brushing against yours. "Frag I'm close!"

"Do it...do it! I want to see." Skywarp says out loud beside you both, Nova Storm's own lustful optics watching as well.

With all optics on you, that's what sends you crumbling. Your overload erupts from your valve and up through your entire frame, clenching firmly around Starscream's rutting cable before he gives a firm final thrust, and you feel his warm fluids soak your depths deep within.

The two femmes both fall apart through their release, holding onto one another and against the thick tree as they ride out their overloads together.

Your optics shut through your overload, feeling Starscream still lingering for a time before he pulls out, his satsified snickering filling your audios.

"I look forward to our next encounter. I've got a pretty good feeling it'll be much sooner next time." He says before kissing you tenderly, as if he's your bond mate.

Both Skywarp and Nova Storm kiss you as well, more cheeky like amd a farewell for now. You can only lean yourself against the large tree as you watch them take off into the night sky.

You let out a heavy intake before pushing yourself from the tree and fixing yourself up. It won’t be the last encounter you’ll have with them. Somehow, they always manage to find you and you won’t be able to resist.

“Horny bastards.”

When Robbie & Mo, and Twitch & Thrash, got attacked by Mandroid's Arachnamechs, Elita's twin protected them until they were found by Dot and the bots.

Their meeting (reunion) was short When a 'G.H.O.S.T. transport' pulls up, Elita's twin is going with Twitch and Thrash, in case of a threat

Then they meet Mandroid and get interested in Terrans and Elita's twin, they get saved/helped by Dot and the bots. after that, reunion of Optimus, Megatron, Elita, and Elita's twin

Elita's twin didn't want to join G.H.O.S.T. but she stays with the Malto family as their guardian of sorts.

She woke up with two other bots next to her.

They looked like her.

All clean white and blue.

She rubbed her helm a bit when she saw two other creatures looking at them.

She quickly got in front of the smaller bots moving them behind the rock.

Then she felt strange.

She suddenly knew the children’s names.

She was the first to come out of the hiding place inspecting “Robbie” and ‘Mo’, keeping ‘Thrash’ and Twitch behind her.

That’s when a terrifying screeching noise was heard.

She quickly got in front and shot the mechanical being down with a single shot.

She was confused by this thing.

The others looked at her strangely.

They couldn’t find a name for her.

“What’s your name?”--Robbie

“My… name?”

“Yeah! What do we call you?”--Mo

She looks at the ground sadly.

“I…I don’t know…”

Mo thinks for a minute before coming up with an idea.

“I know! How about Buddy!”--Mo

She perks up at the name.

“Buddy… I like that. My name is Buddy.”--Buddy

The five of them made their way back to the barn were Robbie and Mo gave them the Transformer comics.

Buddy did get some headaches reading some of them but bared through it.

She really felt for the bots and cons.

War or no war innocent bots and humans got hurt.

That didn’t sit well with Buddy.

Buddy did try and help round up Twitch and Thrash from getting caught.

Buddy followed Mo and Thrash to the city in search of an alt mode.

“You see anything you like?”--Mo

Buddy looks around.

“Maybe that one!”--Thrash

Buddy looks at the mini van.

“Yeah… maybe not—”--Buddy

A couple of spider bots came out.

“Mo! Thrash! Get behind me!”--Buddy

Buddy was quick to start shooting at the bugs but more and more kept on coming.

Even when Robbie and Twitch came the only thing Buddy could do was try and shield them with her frame.

That’s when they came.

Buddy had a killer headache that nearly brought her to her knees seeing the three bots.

Optimus was the first to help Buddy back on her pedes.

“Are you all right?”--Optimus

Buddy groans a bit before shaking her head.

“I’m fine. Thank you…”--Buddy

“Optimus, Optimus Prime. This is Megatron and Elita One.”--Optimus

Buddy looks at the other bots and waves shyly.

“Hello, my name is Buddy.”--Buddy

“Buddy!”--Mo

Buddy looks down at Mo and Robbie standing next to their mother.

“This our mom. Mom meet Buddy.”--Robbie

“Hello! I’m Buddy.”--Buddy

She extends a servo and gently shakes it.

“I saw the fancy blaster work over there, thank you for taking care of my kids.”--Dot

Buddy smiles but then sees Twitch and Thrash entering the back of a trailer.

“Where are they going?”--Buddy

“They will be heading back to GHOST Headquarters there. You will be joining us in a separate trailer.”--Megatron

Buddy stares at the empty trailer.

She walks over the trailer where Twitch and Thrash are.

“I’m going with them.”--Buddy

“That is not the plan Buddy.”--Megatron

Buddy looks at him with determination in her optics.

“I believe the term is ‘watching out for my family’. You’re already splitting us up, I will not have it spilt any further.”--Buddy

Megatron gently grabs her shoulder.

“Buddy—”--Megatron

“I am being a good friend Megatron. Or what ever the correct terms are, I am going.”--Buddy

Megatron, Optimus and Elita freeze for a second as Buddy crawls into the trailer and they sped off.

Buddy had a bad feeling the entire ride as she felt Robbie and Mo fade in the distance.

When the trailer opened again, she was immediately on guard.

She didn’t like this place at all.

She didn’t like this Mandriod figure or the other spider bots around. Those had attacked them not too long ago and didn’t look friendly.

Everything gave Buddy the creeps.

Especially the slabs

But the two bot jumped at the chance to go on them. When they locked Buddy went to go and get them out of their restraints when a bunch of webs caught her and webbed her down to a much larger slab.

Buddy struggled hearing the bots struggle.

Buddy was furious that this evil person was going after them.

“Let us go Mandriod!”--Buddy

“That’s not my—never mind. Anyways, I must say, you intricate frame work with be the best for further enhancing my robotics.”--Mandriod

Buddy’s optics widen seeing a rather large drill coming slowly towards her.

“Leave her alone!”--Thrash

“And who’s going to stop me?”--Mandriod

“Robbie and Mo will!”--Twitch

“Oh please—”--Mandriod

BOOM!

Optimus, Megatron and Dot appeared in the hole in the wall.

“Release them Mr.—”--Optimus

“Mandriod!”--Thrash

“Mr. Mandriod!”--Optimus

“That’s not my—never mind.”--Mandriod

Dot made her way to Buddy, but she told her to get the kids first, to worry about her later.

Dot went to the kids removing their locks.

As the kids ran to safety, a beam was about to fall on Dot when Buddy’s servo broke through one of the webs and grabbed her.

Pulling her close and shielding her best with her frame.

Buddy looks over at Dot, who was just staring at the fallen beam.

“Are you all right?”--Buddy

“Yeah, Thanks Buddy.”--Dot

Buddy smiles as a large shadow came into vision.

Megatron looked over at Dot visibly relaxing seeing his friend unharmed.

“It looks like you could use a servo.”--Megatron

Megatron manages to free Buddy from the webs.

He offers a servo to her.

She smiles at him.

“Thank you.”--Buddy

“I’m just being a good friend.”--Megatron

Buddy’s smile grows wider as the three of them run outside.

It looked like everything had been handled.

“Buddy!”--Robbie

Buddy gets down on her knees embracing Robbie, Mo, Twitch and Thrash.

“You’re safe, you’re safe, you’re safe…”--Buddy

Elita places a servo on her shoulder.

Buddy lets go and stands up.

“Optimus was telling the other Terrans that they had an option of staying with the Maltos. You have that same choice. You could come with us, back to the real GHOST HQ or stay with them.”--Elita

Buddy looks over at the small family.

She looks back at Elita.

“If its all right with everyone, I’d like to stay with them.”--Buddy

Elita nods.

“Then it is settled then, all Terrans will be with the Maltos. Bumblebee will be your teacher.”--Optimus

Buddy looks over at the yellow bot and waves.

He smiles and waves back.

Maybe things would finally work out right.

Whatever that meant.

I was discussing Earthspark with a friend. In our conversation I said one of my critique is that the Terrans feel… too same, I want more distinct dynamics and personalities from them. At times they blend together.

Here are some of my ideas.

Twitch - The leader of course, to make her stand out I want her to be more "serious" of the bunch. She'll be a bit bossy, maybe she thinks being the leader = bossy, at those times her siblings may not listen to her but when things get dire they will. The show touched on her competitive side a bit but I REALLY want to exaggerate that aspect of her. I also want her to butt heads with Thrash very often much more often than in the show, they could fight over who's leader, who's older. Petty fights, it will seem like they will never get along.

Thrash - Rebellious hedonist, he'll say like 'chill dude relax', less hyper than in the show but definitely more rebellious and looking to get away with things when he can. I think it would be much more distinct if we made Twitch the more hyper one and Thrash the more mellow. But just because he's more calm does not mean he's more mature. Now I'm imagining him sounding like a surfer dude HAHA, well his voice and personality would match the eyebags in his design.

Hashtag - The dickhead sibling of the bunch. She'll have a more cocky personality and overall quite the menace to society, she makes a lot of roasts and jokes. She'll pick on Jawbreaker and when Twitch isn't around she'll use her size to her advantage "I'm the biggest, go do what I say". She'll pull a lot of pranks. Very much a menace. But like an internet troll she's all talk no action, perhaps she shall be a bit of a coward. When she's frightened she goes to little big sister Twitch for help hehe.

Nightshade - The voice of reason... at times. They'll be the goody two shoes, they'll be the teacher's pet, they'll dob on you when you misbehave. But they are a hypocrite because they will barely hesitate to do a dangerous activity when it interests them or if it's for "science" or with Hashtag. When they are with her their sensibilities turn off. The voice of reason and the impulse, and they're the pair of siblings that most hang around each other, incredible dynamic. I imagine them influencing each other.

Jawbreaker - The ingenue. Innocent, cute Jawbreaker. The one that Hashtag will trip over with her foot and the one that is infantilised by his siblings. I see Nightshade doing most of the infantilisation, it would make him feel like a stranger in the triplet trio. He tries to act tough and mature to fit in and get along with his group of 'The Triplets' but Hashtag will just keep picking on him and Nightshade would just be like 'there there, be a good boy, little brother'. He isn't sure if they are purposely excluding him. This may cause bursts of anger.

And here's my first change to canon, instead of Grimlock causing the rampage it will be Jawbreaker. Jawbreaker would feel frustrated because of his constant demeaning by his two siblings and so when he gets taught by this very cool bot he looked up to, Grimlock, and when Grimlock displays his symptoms of being 'not 100 per cent present' because of what Mandroid put him through thus he infantilises and dismisses Jawbreaker like his siblings, Jawbreaker would get very upset. Because why is his idol treating him like his siblings? He'll break ground, scan his alt mode, and because of the dinobot alt mode it makes it harder to control his emotions and so he runs a rampage into town. Now Grimlock, Hashtag and Nightshade must chase after him and try to calm him down and right what they did wrong with him.
