wanted to share two posters i made with prehistoric animals found exclusively in mexico (for now) the first one has colors based on endemic animals and the second on alebrijes
The Arcana coyote familiars inspired in alebrijes - mytical creatures from mexican folklore - for an amazing costumer. Thank you for commish me, it was so fun to work on this one!
Comm info ^
i failed to do the prompt i pulled for day two, but i did finish this raccoon alebrije for the monster smash sticker run.
i’m trying to make this month easier on myself and not getting beat up over finishing prompts day of. i’m looking forward to my weekend and hoping to get ahead of things.
at least it’s not JUST work getting in the way, but art projects that i’m actually finishing.
anyways, last night we had leftovers and watched THE MIST. i’ve seen it before and i love it, but it was hitting way too hard. i had to watch mean girls today as a palette cleanser.
Set in a small city in the barren wasteland of earth, where the Pocatelan elite oppress the Cascabel, forcing them to work for nothing but so-called protection from the spirits and wyrms outside their ‘safe’ city
a 13yo pickpocket and his sister try to survive, but when she’s caught stealing a strawberry, he takes the fall, to be exiled
but his exile involves his consciousness being put inside an ancient drone and sent into the wilderness - where he discovers all is not what it seems, and he might be able to save everyone from his city with the truth
I recently took a trip to Arizona and loved the sculptures and bright colored paintings I saw. I wanted to buy one but wasn't sure if I had enough room in my luggage for it. Instead, I did a little research when I got back home and decided to paint the wooden dragonfly I got that was made by Alex's Puzzles in Pennsylvania in the style of Alebrijes, a style pioneered by Pedro Linares López.
I want to do a clay quail too sometime. Not sure when I'll get around to it, but it's on the list. The quails in Arizona were SO CUTE!!
