regardless, the sounds of footsteps began to ring through his ears.

only a few hours prior, with all of the next generation of the tokyo manji gang members present, senju stands tall with both you and takemichi by her side.

she knows the blonde will not put up an easy fight, and with so strong yet so little people against their godly force, high morale is a little difficult to seep through everybody.

senju feels no doubt in her heart that no matter the fear amongst the original members, that they will prevail for the sake of their beloved old leader.

they will pull through for manjiro sano.

chifuyu leans gently into your side as to lower his voice.

he knows how deeply you treasure mikey.

with how close baji and mikey were, not to mention sanzu also against them, it would be hard for you to fight against someone you considered family .

“i’ll be okay, chifuyu. i appreciate your concern.” you reassure him.

you weren’t lying when you said that you appreciated his worries, however you weren’t sure if you would truly be able to land a hit on mikey.

the boy was there for you through thick and thin. with you comforting him through his brothers passing and him returning the favour with your twin brothers death, you felt your heart ache ever so harshly.

regardless, you had to persevere. for mikey’s sake, and for your friends sake.

♬ i’ll make them hear me (now it’s time to redeem or it’s time to resolve )

with manjiro sano , harychiyo sanzu and kokonoi hajime standing in front of the three of you, you felt your body shudder at the blondes glare that was directed at you.

♬ prove they can trust me ( and the outcome will hardly come free )

senju grasps your hand lightly, her own brother staring her down like she’s worthless. nothing but a setback in his eyes.

you smiled back at her before you both proudly stood next to takemichi. she had always been your #1 supporter, regardless of history.

♬ i’ll save my home and family .

with all the courage you could muster, you stared back into mikey’s soulless sockets. nothing but heartbreak and fear filled his sorrowful expression.

you knew in that moment, that you needed to rescue your brother.

you had already lost one, you couldn’t afford to loose another.

with a pool of silence overtaking the battlefield, manjiro sano turns to takemichi hanagaki for the signal.

♡ a big smile stretched across your lips as you hefted open the window in your room; you already knew that your day was going to get better as soon as you saw senju’s face popping out of her own window, waving her arms crazily to try and get your attention.

“senjuuu, what’s up?” “do you wanna go somewhere with me today?! i found this amazing place that i think you’ll love!!”

♡ you immediately agreed; how could you have said no to the excited look on her face?

♡ she had given you exactly zero details though, so you weren’t exactly sure what to be getting ready for. whatever the circumstances though, you were very excited. sure, maybe it was a bad thing that you were hiding your feelings from your friendly neighbor, but it wasn’t like it was harming anything, so it was fine, right?

♡ you threw some random things into a bag and hastily fixed your hair, checking your reflection in the mirror to make sure that you look alright. when you were satisfied, you hastily wrote a note down where you were going and stuck it on the fridge, exiting your house and looking around for senju.

“boo!” “hm? oh, hi! where are we going?”

♡ senju groaned at your lack of reaction to her attempt at a sneak attack, grumbling about how you were supposed to act scared as she pulled your cheeks, stretching them out with a grumpy look. you only laughed, her expression being quite cute as she pouted. she eventually stopped, grabbing your hand to drag you over to her bike, handing you a helmet as she preached about how you need to protect your head, (she brushed it off when you asked about her own head, saying that she would probably be fine).

♡ you reluctantly put on the helmet after her insistence, although you were sure to let her know that next time you would not get on her bike if she also didn’t have a helmet.

“you’re such a worrywart, (y/n)! do you reallyyy think i would do something stupid and get hurt?” “yes.” “what!?”

♡ you tried your best to act completely normal as you wrapped your arms around senju’s waist, but you couldn’t help the giddy smile that came from having physical contact with her, (you were just really glad that she couldn’t see you looking like an idiot). despite the fact that you wanted to pull a little bit closer to her, you refrained, going your best to keep a healthy distance between the two of you while still holding onto her.

♡ it was a lot harder than you could’ve imagined; all the times she would speed through the light as it was turning yellow made you press closer to her than you were originally intending, but you figured if she asked about it that you would blame it on her driving skills. yeah, that’s it.

♡ you had absolutely no clue as to where you two were going, and your curiosity increased tenfold when senju started driving out of the city limits. you didn’t ask any questions though, feeling a bit excited at being surprised by something. of course though, you didn’t get your hopes up too much. there was absolutely no way she felt the same about you, so you did your best to squash those thoughts before they could emerge. it wasn’t exactly working.

♡ after another thirty minutes of driving, senju suddenly pulled over to the side of the road, slowing down and turning the engine off.

“i almost missed it! that would’ve been bad, but anyways, we’re here! let’s go!”

♡ you hastily pulled the helmet off of your head, frantically running after senju as you tried to fix your hair. she had already began the journey to whenever she was taking you, her jogging somehow being a lot faster than your running, (serious, why was she so fast?).

“we’re here!” “wait for me, agh, ‘m so tired…woah.” “right?! let’s go!!”

♡ you had to stop and do a double take when you finally caught up with her; in front of you was the most wide and vast field of flowers that you had ever seen in your life. the most beautiful sight though, was seeing senju in front of you, waving at you to come and join her. the giddy smile that was on her face as she called your name was making your heart skip several beats, and you could only hope that she didn’t have some sort of super hearing as you walked over to her, trying to keep your eyes on the flowers instead of her.

“isn’t it awesome, (y/n)?!” “yeah, it’s super pretty!”

♡ before you could say anything else, senju had plopped herself down onto the ground, picking some flowers from around her and laying them in her lap, urging you to join her with a blinding smile.

♡ you hadn’t exactly been sure what she wanted to do in a flower field aside from admire it, but it was obvious now that she wanted to make flower jewelry. over the course of many hours, she did her best to teach you about how to weave the flowers into a flower crown, and how to make bracelets and necklaces. sometimes, she would get over excited and would stop explaining the steps, but she would immediately go back to helping you when she noticed your confusion in trying to copy her steps.

♡ the day was coming to a close; the sky was filled with beautiful bursts of pinks and oranges, and despite the fact that it was gorgeous, it also meant that you and senju would have to leave soon.

“aaand, there’s one last thing!” “oh, what is it?” “this!”

♡ from behind her back, senju pulled out a tiny circle of small flowers, woven together to create a ring shape. with no words, she gently grabbed your hand, taking the flower ring and slipping it onto your ring finger. it was taking the most amount of resistance in you to try and not interpret it as something else, but you couldn’t help the quickening pace of your heart and the butterflies in your stomach.

♡ when you heard senju giggling in front of you, you turned your gaze from the ring to her. you weren’t sure what she was laughing at, but you felt a bit of embarrassment anyways, hoping that you weren’t making a dumb face while you spaced out for a moment.

“you’re so cute, (y/n)!” “...don’t say things like that…” “awh, why not?” “it could make someone get the wrong idea.” “i’m not trying to make you get the wrong idea though.”

♡ the gleeful look on senju’s face was immediately replaced with a serious expression, her eyes suddenly seeming like they were staring into your soul. you swallowed, laughing a little nervously as you tried to figure out what she was saying.

♡ before you could say anything more, senju had scooched closer to you, her knees moving to rest on top of yours as you leaned back a bit. it was all a little bit more than your heart could handle, and you were sure that if she came any closer you would explode.

“well, i was more talking about if you said that to another person, they might think something different…” “you’re the only one i would say that to, (y/n).”

♡ she had you completely shocked now; your words stopped working. how were you supposed to respond to that?

♡ senju, apparently, didn’t need any more words from you. her serious expression morphed into a playful one as she climbed onto your lap, pushing you down onto the soft bed of flowers and hovering above you.

♡ your heart was now beating a million miles a minute, especially with her being directly above you and staring at you with such a soft look in her eyes. you didn’t dare to move; if this was a dream, you did not want to wake up anytime soon.

♡ without another moment to think about anything else, senju suddenly leaned down right above your face, pausing for a moment and looking at you with a questioning look. when she was sure that you weren’t going to pull away, she gently slotted her lips against yours, seeming a bit hesitant as the two of you looked at each other.

♡ when you finally realized you weren’t dreaming, you closed your eyes and brought your hand up to her head, threading your fingers through her hair and bringing her closer. senju’s hesitance was immediately thrown out the window at this; her lips moved against yours, feeling velvety soft and warm as her hand went to cup your cheek.

♡ after a few moments, she pulled away, a warm smile on her face. you had no idea what kind of expression you had on right now; you couldn’t seem to control anything due to the pounding of your heart. senju suddenly flopped, dropping directly onto you and tucking her face into your neck.

“i’ve been wanting to do that for so long.”

- mikey is thee iconic class crush that everyone has (unless you’re not into mikey then that’s too bad you gotta change the character i’m sorry 😔)

- the type of person you’re friends with and is in all your classes, but you get a little rush of excitement when you see them

- the type of person you talk to like you’ve known them for years face to face, but wouldn’t dare ask to meet up with you and you can’t message them for shit because you think too much about your responses

- the type of person who somehow makes your ears burn but you can’t put your finger on why or how they do that

- you and mikey were always class friends - even teachers knew you guys as class friends and would hate when you sat with each other, knowing very well no work would get done

- he would always find a way to talk to you when you walked past him, to make a joke to you, possibly bully you a little (all with a kind heart and no malice of course) - and you always found a way to do it back which he loved <3

- you cherished him as a friend for some reason - out of all your class friends (not including closer friends that is) he felt special to you, and you could never and will never know why

- probably wondering if he actually liked you as much as you liked him, wondering if you were simply just a person in his class or more of a friend ?

- you hope one day he’ll ask you to meet up and your friendship can be strengthened in the future but its unlikely to happen :/ - mainly because you’re probably not about to make the first move YEAH

- in your final year of school/college you ended up being together for a class - you could say he was kinda like your study buddy in the end 🤷‍♀️

-one day he saw you in the library and he asked if you could help him study for the upcoming test since he was struggling with the topic and he wanted to do well this time — lets be real, we all know kazutora would not take classes seriously 😭

- eventually it became a common thing for the both of you to do; meet in the library and go over the things he wanted to do (and it was convenient for you because it meant you could also simultaneously go over the difficult things too 🫶)

- you guys had a spot mikey called the ‘secret spot’ because it was hidden at the back behind a couple bookshelves — despite always being late to classes he was usually on time to your meet-ups

- he always greeted you by saying “hey, teach!” with only a pen and a scrap piece of paper

- as much as you liked seeing kazutora and becoming friends with him, studying with him was very hard sometimes — you could tell he was trying hard but he would kinda just stare and nod his head rather than listen because he would zone out

- once you guys finished studying, he’d simply ask you when you were able to meet next and would say his goodbye’s and thank you’s — sometimes you wanted to ask if he felt like meeting up outside of college or at least studying at your house since you guys got on so well, but you never did

- and he would make out of pocket jokes (they made you giggle but he doesn’t have to know that) — “is there anythin’ else i can do to get an A, professor? 🥺” boy 🤨

- you guys never ate lunch together or spoke to each other outside of lessons - it was almost like as soon as you guys left the classroom or library you didn’t know each other :(

- you had his socials and sometimes you’d receive messages at 12am about a theory he couldn’t understand 😭 — they always made you smile though and sometimes you guys even had little convos (mostly small talk though ugh)

- once you guys face timed 😟 — he thought you looked so pretty under the light of your desk lap and it made him kinda nervy so he was quieter than usual </3

- when exam season came around y’all were stressing over exams together like. the poor boy was SCARED — however, before each exam he would always come up to you when you were with your friends to ask how you were <3

- “i don’t know why you’re stressed, you’re the teacher here, sweets.”

- although you were excited for all the exams and college/school to end, you were also kinda dreading it — you knew the fact that you and kazutora wouldn’t have another study session again left a little ache in your chest

- when the final day arrived you thought he’d neglected to show up since you hadn’t seen him all day :((

- when the exam finished, however, he showed up out of nowhere asking how it went :0 - you guys had a long talk about the exam and how you guys hated whichever questions

- “well, i gotta get going now, my friend is giving me a ride home and i don’t wanna make him wait too much, i’m really sorry!” oh ☹️

- there it was. the feeling that came over you told you you’d probably never see him again, possibly never speak to him again except for some small talk at 11pm when he saw a funny post and decided to send it to you. the knowledge that you were losing a friend that you’d cherished your limited time with over the stressful year </3

- “yeah, it’s fine, don’t worry about it!” idiot.

- “i’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”

- you just nodded, despite there no longer being a tomorrow :(

- she was your friend in all of your classes <3

- literally since the first day of school/college she decided that you guys were gonna be friends

- every time you come into a lesson she’s always sat in the seat next to yours, and if she’s late she always looks for you with a bright smile on her face — even if other people changed seats in the class, you guys always stayed in the exact same seats next to each other

- “do you wanna do it together?” — y’all always worked on projects or class work together, especially presentations since senju said it just turned out better if you guys did it together

- y’all would also always panic together over presenting posters or presentations to the class and then talk about how good you did afterwards

- you guys always laughed together in classes and giggled at dumb jokes </3

- she would always make you walk with her to exams too — it’s not like she was ever panicking or worried, she just wanted to walk with you into the exam and talk about it after
