I have no respect for people who think trans people are inherent predators, just now started existing in the 21st century, should inherently be denied healthcare or not involved in sports, or that being trans is like "blackface" or "appropriation".

Being a man or a woman is not a race or culture because literally every human culture has their own unique gender norms and expectations and even an idea of something beyond that binary- where do you think the term "hermaphrodite" comes from? The Greeks knew what intersex people were. It's why, if I suddenly started wearing a hijab and declaring I "now know what it's like to be Muslim" I'd be called racist. That would be racist because even though I am a woman, I am not Muslim and I don't know what it's actually like to live with those dressing norms/ideologies.

I am a feminist and that applies to all women. Heck, that applies to all people. Feminism IS for everyone, hon.

Even if you're only a boy, you can fight like a girl.

I’m probably going to get harassed for this post but. As a Jew who fully and entirely supports Palestinian liberation and is horrified by the carnage in Gaza and the crimes Israel has been committing for decades, please don’t use this terrifying situation as an excuse to share antisemetism. I have seen otherwise well meaning and completely helpful posts peppered with additions and wording such as “lying is in their(Israelis)blood” “Israel’s dominion/control over the West” “All Jews need to be held accountable” calling any Jew they don’t like a Zionist, and other wording that bears similarities to Nazi dogwhistles shared around innocuously by people who I KNOW only want to help. Even by people sharing posts like “Zionism≠Judiasm” and “Israel does not speak for the Jews”, which is true!! They don’t!! But it doesn’t stop a lot of antisemites from sharing posts that are basically just nazi dogma, but replacing “Jews” with “Israelis”. The worst part is, it doesn’t help Palestinians at all. I understand that right now is terribly scary time, and that you’d want to get as much information as you can, help any way you’re able, and that we’re all being bombarded with posts from all kinds of sources, and that in the chaos, we can forget to check if what we’re sharing really has good intentions or not. Because that’s what Nazis do, they feed off of your confusion in an attempt to get you to not look at the fine print and join their cause. The Nazis don’t care about Palestine, they only care about using this horrible tragedy to justify their hatred of Jews. And Jews aren’t Israel!! Israel, in fact, isn’t even on the side of most Jews (look up their rejection of Mizrahi/Sephardi/non Ashkenazi Jews). So yeah idk, random shittily written tangent. Fuck Nazis, free Palestine.

hello, it's me, a random small tumblr account here to bring you some interesting details about a potential candidate for project for awesome and why you should Not be voting for them.

project for awesome is happening this year from february 16th to february 18th, so this is exactly a month ahead to warn you why you should not be voting for a potential candidate, the nanowrimo organization.

they have been a candidate over the years and they do not deserve being a candidate at all especially with their more recent fbi cases and child predation issues. the constant endangerment of the userbase is frankly ridiculous, and the amount of testimonies i can find and the amount that i have had to make myself is outrageous.

here is a short video that goes briefly into each of the issues and allegations [some of these are not confirmed and are only allegations or speculations. some of these i have seen firsthand. the information in this video is provided at random and some has more evidence then others] that the nanowrimo organization has had [there is a trigger warning at the beginning for child abuse, assault, predators, racism, ableism, terrorism, bombings, abuse]

issues and allegation including child grooming [from both mods and unchecked users who were creeps], incompetent moderation, emotionally abusing position of power over minors, banning and silencing users who would try to speak out, ableism, making light of terrorism

all this and it isn't touching on half of the firsthand accounts and the rampant racism and bigotry that was allowed on the nano forums, both for the young writers program and the official nanowrimo forums

Was wildly misinformed and harmful. And no I didn't watch the entire thing because I don't feel like self harming today. I did watch the part where they criticised people celebrating getting a diagnosis and I really want to say to anyone out there who celebrated any diagnosis: congratulations! You found out what was going on with you and that is something to be celebrated! It can be a long and scary road to find out what is wrong with you, why you aren't like the "normal" people.

I don't think any of us are celebrating having been traumatised. We're celebrating because someone looked at us and told us we're not insane. Our experiences are real and normal and valid. There is help for us and there is a community out there for us.

I would urge you not to watch the video, but if you do, please open in a private browser so they don't receive tracked views. Comments are turned off so you can't try to reason with them either. People seem to only be talking about this on twitter so I thought I'd bring it up here too.
