“All the monsters have been taken away. I'm the only one left. Can you lock me up in your house?”
and i just. really have to sit down for the rest of the day because of the sheer agony of it all.

By the way, you can say you hate characters and STILL admit that they were abused or harassed. There's literally nothing wrong. Denying it or romanticizing it because of a strange kink of yours won't make your hate any less evident, trust me.
Rhaenyra was abused. She's continuously taken advantage of, and brushed away the moment she isn't needed anymore. And she experiences this first hand with her own father, who completely ruins motherhood for her when she grows up watching Aemma get impregnated and either miscarry or have the baby be stillborn or die in the cradle. If Viserys had been by her side as a supporter to her claim since the start, he wouldn't have gotten Aemma pregnant again and again in the pursuit of a male child. He wouldn't have married Alicent for the same reason. Even after, the only reason why he still stands by her side, and it's time the fandom accepts this, it's solely because of his grief and guilt, because Rhae is the only remnant of Aemma.
And there it starts. Firstly, groomed and left alone naked and alone by her uncle in a brothel. Secondly, slept with Criston Cole (although she did coerce him, that's still a literal TEENAGER) then she's married to a gay man and still approached super young by her new bodyguard and just one year later she's started giving birth to his children. (Side note: FUCK Rhaenyra x Harwin. FUCK with reverb. With hard K.)
And up to this point, most fan agree that she's had a shitty life, although I don't agree with some of her choices. (like her treatment of Criston Cole and the bastards, not because I'm some kind of bigot, but because passing bastards as trueborn in THAT precise world sets them up for failure, not being legally deserving of a thone DOES NOT mean me hating them. That's for another post.)
To top it all off, she meets her uncle again, and there starts the fanfic self insert. They have sex on a beach the day of Laena's funeral, the only one of the three wives he's ever been canonically loyal to (FUCK you writers) and fans think it's soulmates meeting again or sum shit. They subtly threaten Laenor to fake his death or actually die (that's what they were trying to do, cope harder) and marry mere days after the death of Laena.
Yes, all cute and romantic (for Dumbnyras twats) but literally, has it done anything good? For Rhaenyra or like, anyone else? It just brought Daemon closer to the line of succession. Literally. That's all the good it has done.
Fast forward to ep 10. How do I even start with this? Only Jace seems to be on Rhaenyra's side. It's clear he only obeys to Daemon out of fear and is scared to talk back to him. Meanwhile, he COMPLETELY disregards his wife's, and by his faction's loyalties, QUEEN's, orders, he ignores her wails of pain as she miscarries their daughter out of pure shock and grief for her father's death. He lashes out and chokes her on the same day and people still see him as the malewife to Rhaenyra's girlboss. They're always ready to do award-deserving mental gymnastic to justify this man.
"He was planning war because he wanted to distract himself!!!!" "He only choked Rhae because he was mad at Viserys, he'd never hurt her!!!!!!"
Fuck off. Coming from probably Rhaenyra's #1 hater. Fuck. Off. Don't say you care about her place in the view of men when you're ready to justify shit like this.
This is the same man who runs off and has an affair with a teenager, and then prefers going on and having a badass death instead of joining his wife and children who need him in King's Landing.
Do I like Rhaenyra? No. Do I think that, because of this, she's never been abused, or exploited in any way, in her life? ALSO no. My distaste for her character has NOTHING to do with Viserys, Criston, Daemon, Harwin or literally ANYONE ELSE in her life.
Alicent Hightower time, baby.
My mother, my aunt, my grandmother, my entire bloodline, my Roman Empire. And more. To anyone who thinks of her as nothing but a bitter/jealous girl, go read @feretrumdulcia 's post about this matter cuz there's literally no one I've seen that words it better. (And bub if you're reading, long live you and the way you think.)
https://www.tumblr.com/feretrumdulcia/720746371814195200/i-have-seen-quite-often-that-many-people-consider
Anyone who can read this and argue that Alicent is envious/jealous or bitter, honestly needs to take the heart shaped sunglasses off, get off tumblr and Ao3, learn what media literacy is and start learning how to possess a crumble of it. To us it makes sense to synpathize with both, because we've seen the big picture. To Alicent, Rhaenyra gave her virtue to the man that almost killed her brother, and chose to believe she did not out of trust and maybe nostalgia for her friendship and easier times, only to have her father be blamed and taken away from her as a result.
She has four kids in the span of, how much? Five, six years? Seven at best? Helaena and Aemond are NINE MONTHS APART. Viserys didn't even let her rest after she gave birth to her daughter. And I'm convinced 100% that he kept her as Idk some whore he didn't need to pay for because it's stated that he never wanted Aegon but the son he butchered Aemma for. Why keep on bedding her and forcing children on her when you'd never get what you want from her?
Throughout the series she's called bitter and downright a c*nt for this and that reason. She tries convincing Viserys that Rhae's children are CLEARLY bastards and she's setting herself and them up for failure by committing treason and putting them on the throne? Nah, power hungry, jealous, bitter. She marries Helaena to Aegon as a last resort because she's Valyrian and probably would've received proposals worse than the ones Rhaenyra made that would eventually convince Viserys to give her away? Hates her daughter, abuser, shitty mom. Rhae's sons slit her son's eye out instead of running when they had the chance and she rightfully lashes out? Nah, crazy ass, for the dungeons. She gives money and moon tea to her son's rape victim to ensure she gets a way out and isn't forced to have a baby she doesn't want? Bruh, rape apologist. She goes to Aegon and RIGHTFULLY disciplines him? Abuser. Forced to show her feet to a rancid filthy man to know where her son is? Upholds the patriarchy, hypocrite. She convinces Aegon to start fighting for her family because it's either them or the Blacks and he needs to start putting his life together and fight for them, so she crowns him and makes him King? Treason, deserves death, long live the brothel queens.
Somehow, it is ALWAYS HER FAULT. And those few that admit how wronged she was make fun of her.
CAN SHE FUCKING WIN?! Or y'all just hate her because she isn't Valyrian?
Btw almost all of these arguments are the same for Book!Alicent who I personally believe to be FAR MORE than just a bitter stepmom that hates her stepdaughter. She arguably has more reasons to start a coup against her in the books without that prophecy shit.
TLDR; It's OKAY to hate characters and admit they're abused and taken advantage of at the same time. You don't have a moral high-ground on no one because you hate or love a character instead of the other.

A sorta rant about Sam from Stardew Valley and his 4 heart event cuz i cant sleep and hes my wee lil goober
Tumblr media
So apparently sam is a pretty underrated bachelor mainly due to his behaviour and personality in heart events that can cause him to come off as “immature and too young” which yea it’s understandable. So this is coming off from a perspective of a almost 20 year old uni student who really find Sam rather interesting and relatable.
So seems like a lot of people tend to point out his 4 and 10 heart events (sometime 6 even) as to their reason on finding Sam like a bit distasteful. I wanna talk about his 4 heart event cuz the more i looked back onto it, the more it hits me and find him very relatable in terms of personal experiences. So lemme bring up his 4 hear event and give yall my personal lense of it.
The 4 heart event has Sam trying to get you a snack but dropped an egg by accident, which caught Jodi’s attention.
Tumblr media
And of course Sam seemed distressed about it, and so is Jodi’s reaction as she got mad about something as minuscule as an egg crack on the kitchen floor. We as the player has to be the one to tell Jodi what happen (where you can either tell what actually happened or choose to lie and say you dropped the egg btw)
Pretty much the best option is to lie and say you did it, and Jodi forgives you and plays it cool ofc. Jodi gives off the same reaction when you tell the truth and said that Sam dropped by accident.
I’m guessing that’s because it’s YOU who’s telling her what happened rather than it coming from Sam, which of course Jodi would be a bit more forgiving so she would cause a scene in front of their guest. Had you not been there and its just a casual day in their household, it’s likely that Sam will get hella berated and scolded by Jodi over an egg.
It seems very subtle I guess but Sam not responding to Jodi’s question may be the cause of previous experience with causing minor accidents around the house and getting scolded by his Mom. He may also seem really scared to respond with the truth, fearing his mom’s reaction hence relies on you to do the talking.
And personally, this had happened to me a lot growing up, with my mom literally scolding the fuck outta me if I ever made a minor mess or an accident around the house, so it did impacted me growing up anf maturing into adulthood. I remember as a kid I had to lie a lot because i fear that she would shout at me or worse hit me and yikes that got a wee bit dark didnt it bruh.
Sam may have not mature out in that department and of course it would have to do with his upbringing, being raised by Jodi and having an absent father as well which i’d say makes him hard to be mentally matured.
So yea i guess that all i gotta say and since this is all just speculation and basically my interpretation of this heart event, do take it with a grain of salt.
I might make a revised version of this to make it more cohesive and shit, i mean like i literally am writing this at 3am so meow :3
Y’all are welcomed to reply or reblog to open up a discussion and id love to hear and chat with you about your thoughts and insight about this hehe :D
goodnight gois!!! especially to you Sam stans out there!!!

Just wanted to say that I like your Drarry meta posts. They have really given me a new appreciation for HBP and Draco and Harry's dynamic.
I just have a genuine question about your feelings on Harry.
Part of why Drarry began to leave a bad taste in my mouth was that I found book canon Harry to be very distasteful. He just seemed like a vindictive and unempathetic person. Even his remorse for almost killing Draco in book 6 was short lived and I think that same chapter ended with that awful Hinny kiss.
However, your posts seem to indicate a certain care for Draco. So where did this start? What made Harry transform from the guy who participated in group assaulting Draco end of book 4 & 5 to the guy who is trying to cover up Draco's tracks in book 6?
Thank you so much! Glad you've been enjoying my posts. That's so nice of you to say. I have enjoyed your meta as well btw!
This is a great question. I have a lot of thoughts. They are, of course, my personal interpretation and everyone is ultimately free to read things however they like.
The Context:
So first of all I think it's important to consider the larger context of this scene. Harry and Draco are in a fantastical and heightened setting. They are not simply classmates who don't like each other who got into a fight. They are at this point both soldiers on opposite sides of a war.
Draco is a Death Eater. His father has watched and jeered as Harry was tortured and nearly killed in a graveyard. Harry faced Lucius again in fifth year and fought him and is in fact to blame for Lucius's fall from grace and Draco's resultant punishment. Harry has been tasked with defeating Voldemort. Draco has been tasked with killing Dumbledore (though as a punishment not with the expectation that he will truly succeed). Harry knows that Draco is a Death Eater and believes he is tasked with doing something nefarious on behalf of Voldemort and is intent on stopping him.
This is the context of their fight. These are two people involved in a serious conflict on opposite sides actively striving against each other. This is not a simple spat between two classmates who don't like each other so we can't simply reduce it to that or we miss a lot of vital context. We can't judge it the way we would a fight between two people in a regular school who just don't like each other.
The Fight:
Now. As to the actual fight. Harry doesn't initiate it. He walks in on Draco crying and saying some incredibly incriminating stuff. Draco reacts in anger and humiliation and fear and attacks him. Harry responds in self defense and they use an escalating series of spells. Harry attempts Levicorpus for example which would stop Draco from continuing to attack him but certainly wouldn't hurt him even as much as a stunning spell would. And would, also, have allowed them to speak. Draco does quite a good job of holding his own against Harry and foils Harry's attempts to stop the fight. He then attempts in a moment of pain and anger to use an Unforgivable on Harry which Harry counters with Sectumsempra.
Harry has no idea what the Sectumsempra spell does when he uses it. It pops into his mind in a serious and potentially dangerous duel. Nothing in his education has really strongly impressed on him the risks of using untested spells. And none of the other Prince spells have been dangerous. Remember that originally he was planning to test the Sectumsempra spell on McLaggen. And he originally tested Leivcorpus on Ron. So he didn't know what the spell would do before he used it or view at something with the potential to be seriously hazardous.
He didn't do it out of vindictiveness. In fact, it's rather notable that while Harry can be vengeful he seems to have a particular aversion to hurting Draco even when you'd expect otherwise. Like in the beginning, despite the fact that Draco attacks him and breaks his nose and the fact that he already suspects him of being a Death Eater, Harry's anger towards him is surprisingly short lived and he never even thinks of doing anything to him to get even.
Harry's Reaction:
In my opinion, Harry actually has an extremely strong emotional reaction to nearly killing Draco. He is horrified by what he has done. To the point of a near panic attack. He is so upset that he freezes and just kind of collapses next to Draco.
And this is extremely atypical of Harry. Even in dire circumstances Harry is usually able to compartmentalize and keep a cool head and react well under pressure. Even in cases where he is to blame for the situation. When Ron starts dying from poison right in front of his eyes he is able to spring into action. When he realizes he's led his friends into a trap in book 5 he keeps calm and organizes a defense. When Hermione is being tortured in the Manor because they got captured due to Harry saying Voldemort's name he's able to keep calm and come up with a plan.
Also. Harry doesn't like to hurt people unnecessarily but he's still very formidable in combat and is actually quite willing to hurt people when he has to. He kills Quirrel without much regret and says later that he deserved what he got for helping Voldemort. He refuses to stun Stan Shunpike in book 7 because he is Imperiused but he stuns other Death Eaters even knowing they will likely fall to their deaths. Draco is a Death Eater working for Voldemort who has just attacked Harry.
Given his generally cool head under pressure and the fact that Draco is now an enemy on the other side of a war you might expect Harry to react calmly or even coldly to Draco's injury. But he doesn't at all. He can't think what to do. It's the only time we see him freeze up like that. His initial reaction is one of absolute horror. So much so that for once he can't even think of what to do:
Tumblr media
Even after he sees that Draco has been healed and is no longer dying in front of him he can't tear his eyes away and is barely aware of his surroundings:
Tumblr media
He's so upset he's literally shaking. And Harry has seen and suffered a lot of bad stuff. So that's saying a lot:
Tumblr media
Harry is not someone who is good at expressing or even understanding his emotions. And especially with Draco it's difficult since he probably feels he should see Draco as more of an enemy than he actually does.
But I think his actions after this incident are very notable. Harry continues to believe that Draco is a Death Eater on a nefarious mission from Voldemort. And what he overheard Draco saying in the bathroom only further confirms this.
But after seeing Draco so scared and vulnerable and realizing that pursuing him brought them into a confrontation with each other where Harry ended up nearly killing him, Harry backs off completely.
He stops trying to discover and foil Draco's plan. He stops following him. Even though he is still convinced that Draco is involved in something dangerous he doesn't want to be the one to stop him. He doesn't want to be the cause of more fear or pain. Part of him probably also doesn't want to be the reason Draco is killed for failing.
Instead he distracts himself with other things. And it is in that context that he gets together with Ginny. After ditching her several times throughout the first part of the book to go chase after Draco instead, he gets together with her when he's trying to forget about Draco. Which uh. Sure was a choice on JKR's part.
So yeah I do think Harry actually was extremely affected by nearly killing Draco and regretted it a lot.
Book 4 & 5 fights:
As for the book 4 and 5 fights. Those are less serious but once again occur against the backdrop of being on opposite sides of the brewing war. In book 4 Harry is raw from the horrors of the graveyard and when Draco seeks him out and brings up Cedric he loses his temper as do the people he's with.
In book 5 Draco and co attempt to attack Harry to get revenge for Lucius's defeat and capture and Harry and some of his friends respond. (Draco eventually gets his revenge with the nose breaking incident in book 6).
Also we should remember these attacks occur in a world with magic where most injuries can be fixed instantaneously so they aren't as serious as they would be for one of us. These are, without a doubt, nasty incidents, but they are not one sided nor are they that surprising given the context.
Conclusion:
Drarry is, to me, a fascinating and deeply compelling ship because of how Draco and Harry are so compatible and drawn to each other despite their rivalry which evolves into them literally being on opposite sides of a war. And because of the themes of redemption and forgiveness that are implicit in the ship. With all the reasons they have to hate each other they never can, and when it counts, they always come through to protect each other.

okay i've been wanting to do a character analysis on tallulah for a bit, and bad's stream today (july 10th) has really inspired me sooo big paragraphs under the cut
(NOTE: remember that this is all roleplay, and i'm not talking about the ccs here, only their characters)
so, starting with tallulah's relationship with wilbur. at the start, wilbur found tallulah in the attic after she survived off of dirt for... however long she was up there. wilbur was resistant to the idea of parenthood at first, but tallulah persisted with questions like "are you my dad now?" and asking him to name her, among other things. whether she was aware of the way she affected him or not, she definitely pulled at wilbur's heartstrings. he made sure to explain to her multiple times that he wouldn't be around too much, but tallulah was so desperate for a father and love that she accepted him regardless of his flaws.
(speaking of the attic, the way tallulah's admin(s) incorporate her trauma from the attic, water/beaches, etc. is SO brilliant)
tallulah desperately wants wilbur to love her, and she loves him a lot. she said one time that she wasn't afraid of death itself, only the idea that wil would be sad after her death. she clearly doesn't have great self-preservation skills (which this is kinda worrying what with her being... not the best at combat related activities), and this is especially evident with her interactions with quackity, since he constantly has hurt her (the mean names at the beginning, him vandalising her house with gegg and the masked man, and possibly other things i've forgotten). she believes quackity will make wilbur happy, and she wants nothing more than to make him happy.
its also worth noting that wilbur gave her praise whenever she was kind to people (but in this case specifically quackity). this could also contribute to her desire to bond with quackity, because she thinks that being kind to quackity will make wilbur proud (and because she's just a sweet and intelligent person (egg?) in general, who's probably also recognized quackity's difficulties). she wants wilbur to be proud of her, and she's willing to risk her own safety to achieve that.
though, there is an exception to this rule; gegg. since meeting gegg, tallulah has been jealous, cold, and suspicious towards gegg, though there wasn't a very good (apparent) reason for this, at least at first. then, she reveals to wilbur that she's afraid that gegg will replace her, explaining her behaviour. she dislikes gegg but not quackity because quackity can't replace her; he's not an egg or a child, he's a human(?) adult. he wouldn't be a son to wilbur, he'd be a partner. gegg, on the other hand, would be a son.
so, gegg has the ability to replace tallulah, but why would she be afraid of that? she wasn't jealous of any of the other eggs when wilbur met them. the reason for her fear/jealousy is because gegg was an orphan and didn't have parents, despite wilbur expressing obvious distaste for him (guggets, anyone?). she wasn't jealous of ramón when wilbur and tallulah met him, but that was because ramón has fit. gegg has no one, and that made tallulah scared that she'd be replaced as wilbur's one and only child.
tallulah constantly expresses fear and sadness to phil about wilbur being away, and twice (to my knowledge) she's talked to bad about how she misses him. today (july 10th), she talked to bad about how she views bad and phil as her dads/father figures alongside wilbur. clearly she cares SO much about her family outside of wilbur, and the fact that she was so adamant that she doesn't replace him (even if she's not actually replacing him) when bad talked to her about how she has other family that love her too ties into the idea that she's terrified of being replaced (even though she loves her other family a lot), so in turn, she doesn't want to do that to wilbur. she loves wilbur so much, so much so that she puts aside her own wellbeing and feelings to think about his instead.
tallulah's character is loving, sweet, persistent, naïve, stubborn, and a bit clingy. she wants to be loved, she wants wilbur to be proud of her, and most of all, she wants wilbur to be happy. she's willing to put everything she loves aside just for him to feel happy, even at the cost of her own. she's extremely trusting, she's vulnerable, and she's emotionally connected to her family and those around her; even with gegg she was never too mean to him, despite her fears.
im excited to see where her admin(s) take her character next!

This is the post that I mentioned in my previous ask, if you still want to take a crack at it.
And this is the reblog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OP put in a few picture from the comic which I haven't put here, but I'm sure you could guess which ones they are.
Sigh. The thing about this "Oh, they assumed she was dangerous because stigmatization of mental illness, they didn't ask her who she was seeing, blah blah" argument is that they don't assume she is dangerous because she is seeing things or acting irrationally or exhibiting signs of mental illness. They assume she is dangerous because she has attacked them in the past and continues to do so, and is the defeated princess of an imperialist nation who tried to commit genocide. Her entire worldview makes her dangerous. There's no reason for them to stop and consider that Azula's behavior is out of the ordinary because to them, it isn't. The idea that people who Azula has personally victimized need to stop and ask her why she's trying to kill them and should be blamed for not doing that is ridiculous.
I actually do find the depiction of mental illness in this comic distasteful, but that's because it's unnecessary as an explanation for Azula's violence, not because a person with mentall illness is being wrongfully depicted as violent. That's also why no one asks her what's going on, because they already know why she might want to kill them. Her whole motivation in this comic could have been easily explained without any of the mentall illness stuff. I can believe she might want to kill Ursa, who she has fixated on as the source of all of her problems in lieu of admitting that her father was at fault, without the hallucinations. In fact, it diminishes the compelling story of the family drama and Azula's feelings of resentment towards her mother to have Ursa show up as a hallucination that torments her because then it makes the conflict about her mentall illness instead of her actual relationship with her mother. Nobody asks Azula what is going on with her because none of her behavior in this comic is surprising. She was always mean, vicious, cruel, violent, and manipulative and that hasn't changed, except she's maybe crueler and sloppier, but that comes from being in a diminished position that she resents being in. These people act like Azula was a nice, happy person before being put in the asylum who has no reason to feel resentment towards the gaang so it must be that she was abused. Of course she is angry and hateful and not getting better, she's a cruel, arrogant person who was taken down from the privileged position from which she lived most of her life and not allowed to get away with being cruel and arrogant anymore, and she hates that.
There is also NO proof she was in a straight jacket "24/7" and these people state it like it's a fact. It's not. It's not even implied. We see Azula in one when she's in the company of people she wants to hurt, and one other patient in the background who is also being transported in the open. I don't give a shit about whatever "realism" people want to try to apply, this is a fantasy cartoon and it's ridiculous to apply realism to ATLA's concept of chi blocking, not to mention that Azula can create fire with her hands, which, you know, might factor in to why she is in a straight jacket to begin with.
She also did not get chi blocked "for no reason." She got chi blocked because she hit Zuko with the tea tray he gave her because he was trying to be kind to her. She attacked the Fire Lord. Even so, Zuko protests, because he wants to help his sister even at risk to himself, but Ty Lee sure has ample reason to want to protect herself and the people around her from Azula, and also says in the comic that she is still afraid of her. And how does Azula respond to her former friend? Does she say "Ty Lee, my dear friend, how could you do this to me?" Nope. Instead she wants to know how Ty Lee "lost her fear" of Azula. Wow, what a nice person and great friend who does not deserve such treatment! I know, I know, the stans will say this is Yang "demonizing" Azula and isn't what the "real" Azula would do, but then point to other things Yang wrote as one hundred percent canon and evidence of abuse. Guess it's only canon if you can make it look like Azula is a victim, huh? They probably might also try to play the mental illness card here to explain Azula's attitude toward her friend, except Azula treated Ty Lee with the same dismissiveness and controlling behavior always.
And lol, how does Ozai have better conditions? Maybe Ozai is being abused offscreen just like they think Azula is? Something also tells me that if Azula had her bending taken away and was imprisoned and shown to look as bedraggled as Ozai, these same people would be foaming at the mouth about the "abusive" conditions.
Azula also wanted to commit genocide in the Earth Kingdom, had no intention of stopping the war, and cheered about Zuko being burned and made fun of his scar twice. It's also ridiculous to act like Azula is getting unfairly punished for being "crazy" in comparison to freaking Ozai, because homeboy is characterized as pretty off his rocker and nobody even suggests that he needs any mental help. And Zhao? Are you serious? Are we saying Zhao is characterized as sane and not made fun of by the show for it? We're also not gonna argue about how Azula "didn't do anything worse" than Zuko or Iroh again, because the key, once again, is that they stopped trying to hurt people and Azula did not.
I can think of a few women in media who are similar to Azula, in that they become abusers because of being abused by male relatives, and tbh, I'm tired of seeing tumblr go to bat for abusers and try and call it feminism. Trying to compare this to women being abused in real life is actually disgusting.
Also lololol at the first "evidence" of the abuse in the asylum being that Azula complained sarcastically about the food! She's a princess of a powerful nation who is used to having servants do everything for her and she hates the asylum in general because she does not want to be there, thinks there is nothing wrong with her, and resents having to face consequences for her crimes. Even if the food were less than what she might be used to as a princess, that's hardly evidence for abuse and the attempts at appeal to authority OP makes are laughable. But it's hardly surprising that Azula would complain about anything given to her in the institution, since she resents being there.
Again on the point about straight jackets, even if this wasn't a ridiculous overanalysis of a few panels, it's still trying to make real world comparisons to a fantasy setting and a villain who can create fire with her hands. There are obvious reasons why Azula is restrained so comparing this to real cases of abuse is hugely trivializing the real world issue of the abuse of mentally ill patients.
I also really dislike the way these people always argue that Azula did the other patients such a favor by breaking them out, when the panel where she says this is this one:
Tumblr media
Where she's talking about how much these women owe her because she broke them out and so they have to do her bidding. She's emotionally manipulating and using a group of women who probably had nowhere else to go. This isn't evidence of how horrible the asylum is, it's evidence that Azula is still the same manipulative person who is willing to blackmail others into doing her dirty work. You want to talk about abuse of the mentally ill? Maybe we should talk about this.
I also don't wanna hear that shit about Zuko "projecting his negative feelings towards Ozai onto Azula." Zuko has good reason to feel negatively towards Azula for the ways she treated him and the ways she sided with Ozai against him and continues to do so. These people do not get to talk about abuse and then say things that callous and dense.

you can totally ignore this if you want but i'd love to hear more about #5
especially attic wife kevin and miserable gardener jean's relationship before and after jeremy gets there
And I'd love to tell you more about it!
I really really love gothic romance, and due to a personal original project of mine, I have read a ton of classic gothic lit this past year. This au has vary sligth influences from some of my favorite works, namely Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and Rebecca (and it's possible original version A Sucessora but that's another can of worms), and a heavy influence of my favorite tropes in general. I also am of the personal opinion that Riko has the makings of a great gothic villain and honestly he deserves the stage to be properly dramatically evil.
The setting is vaguely victorian, but since I love myself and don't want to bother with all the logistics for a silly little au, it is a historical work in vibes only.
Kevin and Jean's relationship is a bit hard to describe without giving the plot away or just rehashing canon, but I'll try. In this AU, Kevin, Jean and Riko know each other since very, very young; Jean was born to servants of Evermore, Kayleigh died in childbirth, and Kengo sent Riko away when he was still being breastfed by a maid because he suspected him of being a bastard. Life in Evermore was not as harsh as it was on canon, but it was still not good. Tetsuji was a very bitter, cruel man, obsessed with legacy. For reasons related to inheritance and his own weird attempt at rewriting the past, he always planned to have Kevin marry Riko when they were of age. What he did not plan on was the two of his servants would rob him and run away, leaving their young son behind and him in charge of a third, commoner, useless ward. Jean was made to work at Evermore as a sort of indentured servant ever since, but when he was a child, the staff took pity on him and put him to smaller tasks, ones that would put him in more direct contact with the other children of the house. Kevin always saw Jean as a friend, but to Riko he was more like a toy, and Jean was often the butt of the jokes and the target of their more cruel games. As they grew up, Kevin and Jean stayed close even as their interactions started to be considered improper. Kevin always mistankely believed that Riko had grown out of his childish distaste of Jean, but that wasn't quite true; Riko had just started tormeting him behind his back, and Jean wouldn't confess for fear of who he'd choose. Tetsuji was just about as cruel and punishing to the boys as he was in canon, he just had less of a reason to keep a close eye on them and so was more of a distance presence in their lives. However, a important distinction is that in this AU, he truly did see Riko as his son and heir and spoiled him a lot in the name of conving Riko to follow his goals. Riko is less obssessed with the father who abandoned him than he is with what he was taught was his birthrightm which includes his perceived ownership of Kevin, who always saw him in more platonic terms even as he knew they were going to be engaged. Jean and Kevin start a secret romantic relantionship when they were around 17, when Jean was moved from doing general tasks to being Riko's personal valet. They are 19/20 when Tetsuji dies and instead of things being better when Riko becomes master of the house, they take a turn for the worse shortly after.
Jeremy arrives at Evermore when he is 25, and Kevin and Jean are 24. In the years since Riko inheriting the estate, the staff has diminished way beyond what was actually necessary to mantain the house in good shape. There remain only his new personal valet, a couple of cooks, the now-groundskeeper Jean, and the chief of staff (who is Thea! I'm unsure wether her function in the house is more like a housekeeper or a butler so she doesn't have an official job title yet. But she does give Jeremy many ominous warnings and clues. The rest of the staf are also gonna be Ravens, but who is who is tbd if any of Riko's goons are properly named in TSC, which I suspect they will). ANYWAY! When Jeremy arrives, Kevin and Jean have not spoken (or exchanged any kind of communication) in years. They only know of each other what Thea thinks is safe to share without risking Riko finding out, which is not a lot. They would like it to be different, but both have lost hope of ever getting out of Evermore by this point. Fear not, however! Jeremy, as expected of a gothic heroine, will not leave well enough alone and will do his best to reunite him and free them. And it might even work out!
As my parting words, I can tell this project has a title (acronymed BNTB), will probably have three to five chapters, and I have made this moodboard for it:

Here are some (mostly Mammon centric) thoughts I came up with when I probably should have been doing work for class:
Working off of some of my previous ideas, I really like the idea of Mammon and Bee previously having some sort acrobatic act together in the same vein as my idea Ozzie and Mam were once a comedy duo.
I like to interpret that a lot of Mam’s business ventures, while primarily rooted in greed, have a sense of sentimentality to them. Loo Loo Land for example is a blatant cash grab and pet project of Mam, but it’s also his (kinda weird & messed up) way of showing his respect for Lucifer (not to mention it was a place he and his niece made a lot of fun memories). Building off of this, his idea for making the Robo Fizz’s fully functional pleasure toys is him taking the advice from Ozzie that “sex sells” and running with it (Ozzie probably kicked himself when he realized this). I also like to think he has other business ventures that homage the other Sins, like a fast food chain that has a menu containing a lot of food Bee is/was fond of.
Also building off of the previous bullet, if Mammon ever finds out what really caused Loo Loo Land to burn down, he would personally March up to Pride and deal with I.M.P. Not to mention “taking care of” Blitzo would also be a way to indirectly get back at Fizz.
I can’t help but feel part of Octavia’s apprehension towards Mammon when he starts dating Stella stems from him being the creator of the Fizzarolli robots and maybe some level of coulrophobia given Mammon is basically the premier clown of Hell. I think it would be neat if he actually managed to help get over some of her fear as they start getting closer as father and stepdaughter, perhaps even through their shared distaste for the robotic clowns, even if it is for different reasons.
For the life of me, I cannot get the idea of the male Sins at one point or another growing facial hair. Like, just the mental image of Luci with a full beard and Mam with a Gomez Addams style mustache haunts me. Granted, I also feel like they probably look back on this period and laugh about given how it just doesn’t mesh with their aesthetics.
I know I’ve commented on what I think Mammon looks like under his hat, but the reoccurring joke of him never being bare headed gives me life. Him never being seen without his trademark jester’s cap is hysterical to me. Morning, noon, and night; rain, sleet, or snow, he’s always wearing it. The only exception being when he bathes… then he wears a shower cap.
Just this:
The Sins (minus Luci) are standing outside of the Hazbin Hotel, planning on giving their niece a surprise visit.
Leviathan: Oh it’s going to be so nice to see Charlotte again. (To himself) I don’t get why she always has to go see her father, it’s not like it takes THAT long to visit Envy. Asmodeus: (Chuckles) You said it Levi. After all this time, I bet her face is gonna light up the second she sees her favorite uncle. Satan: Mammon? Asmodeus: Wha-NO! ME! (The others look amongst themselves before erupting into a chorus of laughter) Belphagor: *Click-Click-Click* That Does Not Sound Right. Asmodeus: Oh, Ha-ha-ha… Fuck you guys, we’ll see who’s her favorite. (Charlie walks out to greet her guests and face IMMEDIATELY lights up) (She squees and proceeds to charge at Ozzie… only to run past him and tackle/hug Mammon) Charlie: Uncle Mammon! Mammon: (Hugs her back) Charlie! Little Dingo! It’s so good to see you! How’ve you been? (Mammon proceeds to flip Ozzie off behind Charlie’s back) (Ozzie seethes as the other Sins stifle another round of laughter)
Hope you enjoy these, I’m probably going to be pretty inactive for a while.
Thanks for more goodies!
That's a pretty neat idea, also, reminds me of my idea for Levi's role in the troupe is an escapist/stuntman, since his slimy serpent body makes him very adept at it.
Aww. This actually reminds me of my own idea for a fic of Mam consulting Via while brainstorming ideas for the rebuilt Loo Loo Land to give it some more actual identity. Since that would make the parallel with the original LLL being tied to Mammon's relationship with Charlie and the new one being tied to his relationship with Octavia. I generally like the idea of Via inspiring Mammon to express his authentic self a bit more.
I think he'd also go after Wally, since I have the headcanon that Wally just snuck in and used a spare cart for his own torches, since if he actually worked there, he would have to split it with the park.
YESSS! Via's reaction to learning Stella and Mammon were dating at all must've been something else. I'm honestly surprised I don't see more people exploring coulrophobia as a character trait for Via. I'm also a sucker for Octavia-Mammon bonding ideas, they're always so cute!
I actually have a dilemma about this, on one hand, Luci looking like he has an exact wig of his hair glued to his face after neglecting himself in favor of his duck making is a great visual, but I also find the thought of Luci being naturally baby-faced really funny.
I think Mam would sleep without his hat, but he would still only take it off after getting in and locking the door so any passing house staff don't see him without it. It's not even that he's insecure, he's just that committed to the bit/brand. Very few have lived after seeing his gently electrified locks, speaking of which, I like to think that, like his webs, his hair produces a soft static tingle to the touch.
Yes, just so much yes.

Resurrection
For the @petrifyingpapas challenge.
Terzo has somehow been brought back to life...and is having a bad time.
(Also readable on AO3)
It had hurt.
Being brought back from the dead.
Dying had hurt too, of course, but being revived? Resurrected?
It was a pain unlike any he had ever felt.
After dying, his soul had been in Hell. It had been more comfortable than you'd expect–there'd been fire and brimstone, sure. And the smell of sulfur had permeated the place, but it'd also been...warm, in a way he hadn't anticipated. It had been comforting, surprisingly. The pain of the syringe being jabbed into his neck and the shock of having the poison end his life so suddenly had been almost instantly wiped away by the warm embrace of hellfire.
It had surrounded him, wrapping him up and holding him–almost like a mother would hold her child.
It had been comfortable. He had been warm, safe from any further pain, and had found himself unable to worry about anyone or anything. Somehow, being free from the constraints of the material, living world had enabled him to let go of any and all anxieties he'd had, and trust that everything would inevitably work out as it should.
That had all gone away when he'd been resurrected.
When he had been brought back, when his soul had been (rather unceremoniously) shoved back into his body, he had felt full, intense, soul-searing pain. It had subsided after a few days, thank Lucifer, but it still flared up a bit from time to time. (Omega, one of his beloved—and still loyal, even after all this time—ghouls had told him that was normal. When questioned just how he knew that, the ghoul had simply shook his head, refusing to answer).
There was also the sting and ache in his neck, where he had been posthumously beheaded. It had clearly been stitched back on—for the (frankly distasteful) "Veneration of Relics" display—but it still hurt, more than he could handle on some days. Which limited his ability to speak. Even though his vocal chords (and his previously-removed internal organs) had been somehow regrown or replaced, he found vocalizing beyond more than just a few groans and grunts and sighs to be quite painful. It took a fair amount of effort and straining to say even just a simple sentence.
Then there was the mental aspect of it...the shock and panic when his soul had—seemingly in a split second, though time didn't mean much in Hell—gone from being wrapped in protective hellfire to being back in his body, which had been inside a glass coffin, and...well, if he had been able to properly scream, he would have. The glass coffin itself bore the scratches from his clawed gloves, from where he had desperately tried to escape once he had awoken. That panic hadn't gone away once he'd been let out–he found himself still experiencing it sometimes, usually when asleep, after having dreams that he didn't want to be having–dreams of a never-ending and agonizing cycle of dying and resurrection. And he hated it. It left him feeling skittish, paranoid, frightened...and vulnerable, in the worst way.
And alienated. The only other people who understood what he was going through were his older brothers, who were dealing with it all about as well as he was, if not even worse. Everyone else, except the ghouls, didn't look at him like they used to, like a Papa, like their (former) leader. No, when the Siblings looked at him now, it was with barely disguised fear and revulsion, with something in their eyes that showed just how different he was to them now. (And even how different he was to himself).
His own father could barely look at him, or even be in the same room as him. Due to guilt, he knew, but he still longed for his father to actually look into his eyes again, to see him, to recognize him. He'd be willing to forgive it all if he would just look. But no. He wouldn't. Not for more than a few seconds, anyway. And that wasn't long enough.
Add all this together, and you had suffering and trauma, the kind that would take forever to heal from. If he ever would, anyway. He wasn't optimistic about it–being dead then brought back to life wasn't exactly something easy to deal with, and compared to every other hardship he had suffered in his life (and he'd suffered a few more than you'd think), it was thus far the absolute worst.
He still didn't even know just how he'd been brought back. Oh why. Or by whom. He couldn't get a straight answer out of anyone, the most he'd get in response was "It was the will of our Dark Lord."
He snorted every time he heard that. 'The will of our Dark Lord', eh? Had his death been the will of the Dark Lord, too?
Or had it been the will of someone else?
He already knew the answer to that question. Sister Imperator.
Though he had no idea just why she'd want him—and his brothers—brought back, or who she'd employed to do it or how that person (or people) had done it...he still knew, deep in his gut, that it had been her will all along, not the Devil's.
She was the reason he and his brothers had died (or had been killed, rather). She was the reason their father had gone along with it. She was the reason he and his brothers were now alive again. She was the reason he was in so much pain.
She was the one whose throat he wanted to squeeze in his hands.
And he would, inevitably. It would take some time, some planning, but he would have her gone. Gone from the ministry, from the church, from life itself.
And, Satan willing, the hellfire waiting for her wouldn't be comforting or warm, but scathingly hot and punishing. It was what she deserved, after all, for having him and his brothers killed. For manipulating their father into going along with it. For having the nerve to replace them with her own son. For getting too big for her britches.
She needed to be put back in her place, and that place was under the Devil's foot, where she couldn't exercise any more control over him or his family.
She needed to be dead, and never brought back.
Then, and only then, could he and his brothers even attempt to actually heal, to adjust to being back in their bodies again. To truly live again.
Instead of being pathetic, shambling revenants.

Neytiri and Spider
As part of my Spider brainrot, I can't help but keep thinking his relationship to Neytiri.
While I wholeheartedly disagree with Neytiri's treatment of Spider throughout his life, seeing as he was a CHILD and not responsible for anything that happened to her or her people, I GET IT. Spider is a physical manifestation of Neytiri's trauma, a trauma trigger if you will. And he's around her and her family as long as possible every day, and her kids are always with him. It must be hard to watch considering everything she's gone through with the loss of her sister, her father, the destruction of her home. I can't get behind her attitude towards Spider but I understand it.
I have to think though that Neytiri has to have SOME self-awareness of Spider not actually being responsible for her trauma, and just being a kid. I think if she had no awareness whatsoever, she would have absolutely forbade him to play with her kids or even get near the Na'vi at all. I'm sure she could do it. But I think the part of her brain that could still think clearly about Spider through her cloud of hatred was the one to concede to Jake about Spider playing with her kids and allowing him close by. Especially later when the RDA returns, I'm sure her trauma was re-triggered and it had to have soured her tolerance of Spider, but we still see him at High Camp interacting with the kids and touching their ikrans as they dismount after the attack on the train. I think she's too deeply affected by what she has been through and has not really had time to process it, so tolerance and leniency is all she feels she can offer Spider during his life.
But she clearly didn't tolerate him enough to go back for him when he got captured by the RDA (neither did Jake but that's for another post). In my mind, I think she saw her family in danger, prioritized, and decided Spider wasn't one of her priorities. Which again is understandable given her experiences but still wrong towards a child.
But the moment in the movie that really gets me thinking hard on Neytiri's relation to Spider is the moment on the boat when she has a knife to his throat. Again, a horrible thing to do to Spider for so many reasons, but I GET IT. Kiri was being held at knifepoint, she'd just lost the child that made her a mother, and she wasn't about to lose her second. I think Neytiri had every intention of going through with her threat if Quarritch didn't release Kiri. I really do. We all know that Neytiri is as ruthless as she is passionate and loving, and I really think that in that state of rage and grief and fear, she would have killed Spider had Kiri not been returned to her.
But then she cuts Spider's chest, and I am very tempted to think that that action, actually drawing Spider's blood, was somewhat of a wakeup call for her in that 'what was she doing threatening a child? A child who's known her all his life?' But she can't back down yet because Kiri hasn't been released. The reason I think she had this kind of light bulb moment upon cutting him is because of the fact that she pushes Spider BEHIND HER when Kiri is released. She could have easily been rid of this presence in her life that is a constant reminder of her pain and loss, could have just surrendered him to Quarritch, but she decides instead to push him behind her protectively. In my mind, I think it's maybe an inkling of Neytiri's motherly instinct kicking in, that no matter her distaste for the kid, he was still a child, and she would never hand over a child to the demon himself. I also think that the shock of actually hurting Spider made her really LISTEN to Spider and Kiri begging for each other's lives, and realize that if she did this, Kiri would never forgive her, Spider had no care for himself in the face of Kiri's danger, and she would have committed a crime so great Eywa wouldn't forgive her for it.
That is to me, how I view that moment on the boat. I think that Neytiri and Spider's relationship is very interesting because of how loaded it is, and I really hope that subsequent movies actually develop their relationship in an interesting direction instead of a flat continuation of her hatred for him. Their relationship has the potential to be incredibly nuanced and tender if given the chance and developed properly. I hope that this moment and Neteyam's death become some sort of catalyst for her to re-examine her relationship with Spider and what she has put him through. Like, the realization that this boy is only a year older than Neteyam who died in a war he was too young to fight in and that Spider is also too young to fight in and be responsible for is what I want to happen. I also see them finding some alliance in the fact that they would both do anything for Kiri.
Essentially, I want Neytiri to come to SEE Spider. I think that if James Cameron doesn't do that in the next movies, it's a dishonor to Neytiri's character and he would be making her into a flat character, which she most certainly is not.

Listening to the animatronic voice clips from FNAF AR, and... god, I love this voice acting!
I don't know who Classic Freddy is voiced by, but man, did they ever nail it! If I didn't know what Freddy looked like, and you told me it was a robotic talking bear, I'd believe you. He also sounds appropriately kid-friendly, all the while he seems like he's TRYING to threaten you, TRYING to taunt you, but his programmed personality won't let him. It's so fitting that it's terrifying.
Classic Foxy's voice is perfect, okay? The perfect pirate voice. He's also not afraid to threaten your life multiple times, and he's clearly enjoying every second of hunting you down. Gives me chills.
Toy Freddy has such a cute, friendly personality, yet he seems to be better at being threatening than Classic Freddy. He sees hunting you down as a game, and we all know how much Toy Freddy loves games. I really enjoy listening to him.
Toy Bonnie's voice is amazing. He sounds high-pitched and effeminate, and considering his physical appearance, it's rather fitting. He's also terribly sassy and self-centered. A diva. A bitch. I love him.
Toy Chica is very good at sounding sexy and horribly threatening at the same time. Like, she knows she's a bad bitch and she isn't afraid to be unhinged about it. I freakin' adore her, to be quite honest, for many reasons.
What I find interesting about Mangle's voice lines is that sometimes she refers to herself as "we", and he also talks with more than one voice at a time. Mangle isn't just one animatronic; they are parts from multiple animatronics forming one being. She is a collective, a hivemind. One voice might say she almost longs for the days of Kid's Cove, while another voices his distaste for those days ("Never again"). Mangle is super-fascinating, my dudes! If anyone can recommend a good fanfic that explores Mangle as a collective, I would love to read it.
Springtrap... holy shit. I am not a simp, but I won't deny how terribly attractive his voice is. He's also a fantastic villain, feeding off of people's fear and suffering. He seems proud of all the deaths he's caused, like it makes him powerful. But how powerful can you be if most of your victims are smaller and weaker than you? I love to hate this son of a bitch. Just listening to him makes me want to break out a flamethrower, and I mean that in the best way possible.
I can't take Jack-O-Chica seriously because she is just SUCH AN EDGELORD. Am I the only one who feels that way? I mean, her voice lines are performed well, but the actual lines are so edgy. She totally shops at oldschool Hot Topic. And she won't stop with the fire references, either. It's honestly funny to me.
Circus Baby... a creepy, creepy little girl who happens to be a giant killer robot. She tries to manipulate you as she hunts you down. When she's not doing that, she's incredibly threatening and unsettling. She's clearly trying to get her victims to squirm before she kills them. She's a sadist, just like her father.
FUNTIME FREDDY'S VOICE OMG HELP ME I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Ahem. He's so goofy and silly-sounding, yet he's clearly enjoying hunting you down. He's completely unhinged and sadistic, and he's having the time of his life. It's a blast listening to him, honestly.
Bon Bon is adorable. Even when he's trying to be threatening, he's so cute! He's a mischievous little gremlin, honestly. Even if he killed me, I don't think I could stay mad at him for very long.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ꒰🥀꒱ rhyraël ៸៸
ଓ.° “ oh aren't you just the sweetest little dream. . . ’
Tumblr media
·⊰ species: mana spirit
·⊰ sex: male
·⊰ age: unknown
·⊰ hair colour: black
·⊰ eye colour: deep purple
·⊰ mbti: ENTJ
·⊰ about: the literal boogeyman but with a twist, rhyraël is the creature that many will tell their children of. however, his main target is in fact adults as their fear grants him far more power. at a staggering height of 7’5’’ and a pale skin tone, he maintains this in both his human form and ‘nightmarish form’. in his nightmarish form, he has a head of long, ebony black hair which extends past his waist and dark purple eyes with the whites of his eyes being black while his irises are slitted. sharp canines with generally sharp teeth which are paired with his elongated tongue that bears a simple piercing at the middle. at the centre of his forehead a small red gem forms some sort of vermilion mark and is encrusted in. from his temples extend two sets of black horns which he often adorns in jewellery, typically gold or silver chains with amethyst gems dangling from them. his ears are long and pointed and he wears a variety of piercings, typically hoops along his helixes. however, he also has chain earrings which connect to the hoops and join at a stud on his lobe which then extends a smaller chain with a gem attached to it. his fingers extend long, sharp, claw-like nails that are often black. this dark colour also bleeds onto the tips of his fingers. his lips often bear black lipstick, solely on his top lip while he also wears eyeliner around his lids but also extends them into wings on his lids. in his human form his horns are hidden and his ears are that of a human along with all his other monster features. his hair remains the same and his eyes mimic human eyes with his same eye colour. his outfits range from robes such as this to more modernised black suits, dress-shirts and suit pants — this goes for both of his forms. He also wears dark bangles around his wrists along with dark rings on his fingers.
as stated earlier. rhyraël is, quite literally, the boogeyman. he’s been around for an indefinite amount of time but his story isn't exactly what humans have adapted it out to be. known as a 'mana spirit', his very being centres around the universe and it's life essence. as such it's only natural that he draws his energy from the world's creatures, particularly — fear. while he also draws energy from sin ( greed, lust, deceit, violence ) and corruption, fear is what strengthens him the most. he is a rather cunning individual with a great amount of pride but an equal deal of witt. he takes his reputation with pride although ironically has some distaste towards 'the boogeyman' name and leans more towards 'the shadowman' if not his actual name. while he does have quite a short fuse this isn't particularly evident as he masks this anger with sadistic slyness and feigned amusement. on the topic of his humour he tends to have a rather ( pun intended ) dark humour. he's smug, sarcastic and overall ruthless, especially when it comes to his line of work. he's also considered to have quite the charm and charisma towards other people — not to mention, he is a bit of a flirt.
at the onset of his creation, rhyraël was born alongside a twin brother whom he loved deeply. the two were promised greatness and were tasked with the duty of maintaining order in the physical world and protecting its inhabitants. however, he found it difficult in using the pure tactics and powers that were said to be the 'only way' and often fell short of his brother. as they grew older, rhyraël discovers that he was in fact never destined to rise to greatness and was in fact, determined to fall into corruption so that "balance" could be maintained with his brother being the "inherently good force" whilst rhyraël was meant to be the "inherently evil force." in a fit of rage, he commits patricide ( as it is his father who determined his downfall and ultimately picked his brother over him ) and engages in a horrendous duel with his brother as a result. in the end, neither of them win and rhyraël flees. it is now that he learns he is far more talented in the darkness and discovers his true powers. from that day forth, he vows to end his brother and take back his birthright.
he is a businessman by trade, a leader by right and a mercenary by skill. seeing as though he quite literally gains strength through the corruption, sins and fear of others, what better occupation in the modern world than that of the leader to one of the most renowned underground crime guilds? this guild, known as talon, has their hands in both mercenary work and mob networks in both the mortal and supernatural world. a wide array of dark creatures operate in this guild, some of which are his own creations whilst others are not. rhyraël states, "the fear in someone's eyes just before they pass on tastes almost as divine as one's fear of the unknown. with that being said, he also enjoys the traditional approach of spooking someone with paranormal occurrences as it is the way in which he first started off after his turn to the darker side. he frequently has run-ins with his brother who leads an intelligence and national security agency in the modern world ( it also doubles over to handle supernatural issues ) that directly opposes talon. he and his brother are in competition now.
with a lover, rhyraël is still quite cunning although it is watered down to a playful sort of malice as he enjoys eliciting reactions out of you. especially that of embarrassment and fluster. he's quite the shameless individual who says what's on his mind especially when it comes to you ( most of which serve to fluster you. ) as stated earlier he can be a bit of a flirt which is only amplified around you — he especially adores teasing you. with all that being said rhyraël is also quite protective and might be borderline possessive over you. he's had what was supposed to be his taken before and he refuses to let it happen again. while you might not be aware, he almost always has one of his henchman giving him full reports regarding you when he isn't around for the sake of your safety. he is very aware that he's made a lot of enemies and thus cannot bear the thought of you being hurt as a result. he is also a very passionate lover and extends his affection in both physical and verbal methods. sometimes he'll spin you around whilst you're busy with who knows what and kiss you until your breathless. other times he'll wrap his arms around you — maybe while you're waiting in line for a coffee and simply hold you in his embrace or press kisses down your neck. apart from all of this, rhyraël would need someone to break through the barriers he's set up for himself. he may not be entirely good at this love thing but damn will he try for you.
·⊰ strengths:
ଓ.° fear detection and manipulation — the ability to sense one's fears. he can see all their fears and depending on how weak a person is mentally, he can induce terror into them. fear is his ultimate source of power. this includes nightmares, he can both induce and manipulate them
ଓ.° dark mana — he has control over dark mana and can create, shape and manipulate it into physical projections. he draws this mana from living beings and thus actively harms them in the process
ଓ.° shadow teleportation — the ability to travel and teleport through shadows
ଓ.° shadow animation — be it temporary or actual living beings, he can draw dark mana and negative energy to create aparations of creatures. this is also how his makes his underlings
ଓ.° shapeshifting — the ability to change his appearance
·⊰ weaknesses:
ଓ.° white mana — the complete opposite to his dark mana which prides itself on positive and pure energy. this can harm and weaken him. if the is user his on his level ( his brother ) it can be fatal
ଓ.°courage inducement — a trait of his brother's side. depending on the strength of the wielder with this ability it can counter his fear inducement
ଓ.°daytime — while he is not affected too harshly he does become only a tad bit weaker in daytime. nothing too extreme but it does limit his shadow teleportation
ଓ.°light-based powers — any of these abilities outright counter his and weaken him. they can cause injury

Ok this is not really an important topic but in most fanfics I read Dabi is insecure about his scars and the way he looks but I actually feel like it'd be the opposite? Like he would think that he looks gruesome and ugly but also enjoys how the way he looks make people (especially his family and heroes) feel uneasy and disturbed. His burns are endvr's and hero society's fault, and he wants people to see that. Or maybe he wouldn't care at all since his only purpose in life is taking endvr down. Anyway what do you think about it?
Disclaimer: fanfic is often very personal to the author and doesn’t have to line up with canon. Sometimes fic writers just want to explore things exactly because the source material never went there, and I don’t think it’s fair to judge them for something they create out of love. Fanfic also shouldn’t be taken as a 1:1 of that person’s views of canon imho. I know I’ve jumped between opposite headcanons on the subject (and other things), and that might be true for others as well.
That being said, staying true to what we see in canon… Dabi seems rather… impassive about his scars. The one time we see him openly acknowledge them (that wasn’t when someone else brought them up first) was when he was on that ratty couch after the war, looking at the back of his hand and noticing the new burns. His reaction however is fairly subdued, almost indifferent. He doesn’t feel the pain attached anymore, and even if it did, it wouldn’t matter. His whole focus shifts back to Endvr a beat later, to the goal of getting his revenge and making his family look at him.
If I had to hazard a comparison, the way Dabi thinks about his scars is very similar to how Deku thinks about his. Both of them see them as a means to an end, or rather, as an unfortunate but tolerable compromise that lets them get to their desired end goal. How they get there doesn’t matter, so long as they do. They sort of… accepted that their quirks will always take a toll on their bodies, and are now fairly blasé about it. They don’t even blink twice when they get new ones, tho they also typically don’t go out of their way to injure themselves if they can help it, if that makes sense.
As for the insecurity angle… canon-wise, we don’t really see him struggle with his appearance. In fact, Horikoshi plays it up quite a bit. After joining the League, Dabi’s ratty and plain clothes get swapped for an outfit whose trench coat has suture-like stitches, and they’re clearly meant to mimic his seams and staples. Then in the PLF arc said stitches extend to most of his clothing. Whether you want to take that as a simple character design choice on Hori’s part or not, Dabi does wear those fits, and that’s not something he would do if he was self-conscious about his appearance imho. At least for the PLF one, we can assume it was commissioned (to Detnerat, maybe? I don’t remember) because it was tailor-made to be fireproof. So Dabi could’ve turned it down if it crossed any boundaries, I think.
However, I want to mention that Dabi does have some self-perception issues stemming from his scars. Or more precisely, stemming from people’s comments on them. Understandably, he takes issue when he’s judged based on his burns. However, I would say that it goes past the distaste he holds for actual prejudice (see: Geten, those alley thugs he cremated), and extends to any sort of unwanted attention on his burns. He’s so used to getting negative feedback for them that he bristles even in the face of genuine worry (Fuyumi, Toga). He seems to take any attention on his scars as negative attention, after being conditioned that way by his father’s upbringing. Whenever someone points out that he’s burning, or that he’s scarred, he looks disgruntled, sometimes downright hostile, with the sole exception of that time with Shouto during the war arc (where he wasn’t fully lucid anyway).
So I would say that he is self-conscious about that. He fears being judged only because of his lack of fire resistance, rather than for his skills, since that’s what happened in the past. The reminder brings up unpleasant feelings, so he shuts it down. Much like when he was a kid, he wants people to focus on what he can do, and not on the limitations of his quirk. On him, rather than on his injuries.
That’s about all we know from canon o/

Your right I should have been more specific when I asked about the different ways the heroes are perceived by the average civilian
I did mean to ask what the average inhabitant of the city’s that’s not a hero fan would describe the individual hero villains and vigilant
Scott is the easiest, he's viewed very favorably by civilians. Those who don't like him so much are usually only so because they are more inclined to his father, but on mass Scott is seen as a protector and an honourable one. He's a celebrity in and out of costume and has had his life on blast since he was born and while he's not always the most sensational he is the one which the people tend to respect most. he earns a lot of praise, a lot of pity, and a helluvah lot of fans. Lots of fans of all ages, but older folk tend to have a lot more to say about him.
Jimmy is also easy. He's the heroic sweetheart of the city! He's a young hero whose been in public presence since his sidekick days, associated with a well loved hero and is a support who interacts a lot with the citizens personally. He's popular especially among adults who really value his work, though he's a favourite among some kids as well.
Joel and Lizzie's vigilante identities are greatly associated with one another for obvious reasons. They have a mixed bag of civilian opinions. A lot of backlash for their more destructive and less than legal actions, but certainly a lot of support, especially from younger fans. Lizzie gets a lot of love for being such a unique heroic presence and both are popular with young folks especially who enjoy heroes on the same level you enjoy sports.
Pearl is terrifying. She is unpredictable and causes harm and chaos wherever she appears. The civilians en masse do not like her, but the name of the Scarlet Moon is one which very few speak, as if an omen. There's a level of fear for her because of her unpredictability and that makes her more scary than even some of the more present Corruption ranks...
Grian's identities slid around for public perception. Poultry man didn't garner much more than annoyance and frustration from locals. Distaste, but not a lot to do. The Watcher didn't have a big public presence, but certainly had a lot of conspiracy theorists and hero enthusiasts picking any sighting apart. Cuteguy is actually almost liked by the public. A sort of love to hate kind of thing because of the way Cuteguy and Hotguy play around one another. He may be a villain but there's such production in his fights with Scar that it feels far more theatrical than a real fight and Cuteguy certainly has his fans!

I really love the level of doublethink there is in Patho Classic like. Capella's comment on the treatment of women in the Town vs. Her own regressive goals for it and her plan to betrothe herself to Khan as a political move when Khan in Classic is pretty outright misogynistic at times. Like it was very interesting for her to confide to the Bachelor about how easily the Townsfolk could turn against a hapless woman! To use that as a warning against more witch hunts! She's very smart and clearly knows how precarious the situation of women is in the Town, the way women are scapegoated, & both she and Victor are the only ones to ever outright protest the mob attacks on innocent women.
To do so in the Bachelor route is interesting too because in my own playthrough I immediately jumped to defend the women, not knowing that it would actually cost reputation in the Town- by the time you play Haruspex route, that outright violence against women feels normalized, enforced by the game.
(Sidenote: I literally do not get how people might think the Bachelor is seriously anti-woman like he might have his moments of insensitivity but from the intended shocking of the audience, Victor protesting the violence, him chastising the Dogheads for being lecherous, him finding Aspity's weird erotic hate comments about Aglaya distasteful... I think he has like a baseline respect for women that you don't really see expressed in other routes)
And while Maria is untouchable by the Town because of her class, there are still many threats made against her by Townsfolk, for example, the bull at the stake where the mob says they literally want to burn her for being a witch, claiming she orchestrated the whole thing when it is confirmed she had nothing to DO with it. Why would she? Artemy blames Maria for the deaths of her father and uncle, Khan and others blame Eva's suicide on Maria, everyone turns on Maria. Katerina fares no better despite her incompetence. The Changeling, another Mistress to be, is attacked in the street. Even the lesser noble women fear being turned on when their reputations sour from baseless accusations about being a plague spreader, shabnak-adyg... so it's all clearly connected, being a woman with any reputation is dangerous, clearly there's something wrong with this system that makes women into personifications of evil and good, when good can so easily be confused for evil or vice versa when it's time to scapegoat someone.
And then Capella turns around and is like. Well that sucks but let's marry someone I hate for political power and make all my female friends into Mistresses too so they also have to get married to the boys in our circle (as implied by Sticky) (and the 3 Termite boys are absolute nightmares too nobody WANTS them). Assuming Taya is being left out because Capella would do that.
All the while she sympathizes with all the women being scapegoated and attacked. All the while still planning to spread and solidify a system that brings women harm. She is so interesting. No matter your class or race you too can experience the horrors of being a Mistress #equality

To Be Alone With You | chp 2.
Tyler Galpin x Xavier Thorpe
A/N: THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR THE ACTUAL SHOW (remember this)
Thank you xxx
Read on ao3 here | Read chp 3 here
When Xavier used to attend normie high school called Jericho high, Tyler was rolling with the big boys - the jocks - the popular kids. With his dad being the sheriff and his dad's best friend being the mayor who also happened to have a son the same age as Tyler, they were destined to be the popular boys.
The spotlight was bright for Tyler, and he had a distaste for it too. It was fun hanging out with Lucas, practically growing up living together, with how much they used to have sleepovers. But it all changed when they entered high school when Lucas discovered that other students were not like him.
Outcasts.
The exposure led to Lucas becoming a popular bully. Yelling mean words at the Nevermore students when they walked past or even just at kids at their high school who were out of the norm.
Tyler never played any part in the bullying, he was always off to the side. He knows that does not excuse his involvement, but he had a fear that they would turn. And oh the things they would do and probably tell his father how he stood up for some weird kids or worse Nevermore students.
He did not need to become more of a disappointment than he already is.
-
The incident, was where he met first officially met Xavier.
It was at a party, surprisingly the entire grade was invited, thus Xavier was too. It was held at the grand Walker house, hosted by Lucas Walker himself.
Smuggled alcohol and loud music were the combinations for the night, and unfortunately the incident too.
Tyler remembered the night vividly, apart from the ending.
It was around midnight, and Tyler was sick of pretending to be interested in keg stands or whatever other high school boy bullshit that Jericho had. So, he decided to get some air. Leaving through the back door of Lucas's house and his backyard to the fence line.
The fence separated the forest from the town, no one would find him now. The stories of a beast living in the forest scared many away if only they knew.
He lit a cigarette, breathing in the smoke before turning to face the forest. But then he noticed a flicker of light, deep in the woods, too warm-hued and large to be a torch.
Tyler didn't normally investigate these things always too scared, especially since he was alone, but either finding the truth in the light or going back to the party, he rather just get over his fear and find out.
Lucky for him he didn't have to jump the high fence, off to the right of him was a cutout. It seemed that someone had gnawed their way through the thick metal with a bulk cutter creating a man-sized hole.
He had swiftly gone through the opening and sped towards the fire. The leaves under his feet crunching with every step, he soon slowed down when he neared the light, careful not to disturb what might have been before him.
Peering from behind a tree his eyes saw a horrific sight, it was Xavier fully tied up propped against the tree before him. In front of Tyler were Lucas and three of their buddies, Tom and Connor one holding a jug and the other with their arms crossed over each other.
None of the three knew of his presence until Xavier began shouting towards Tyler, wriggling furiously.
"Huh?" Lucas had said swiftly turning around to meet with Tyler.
Lucas stood in front of Tyler, a torch had been in his hand, the source of the light.
"Galpin?" Lucas had said towards him
"I- uh-" Tyler stuttered, coming out from behind the tree, awkwardly coming towards to stand in front of Lucas.
"Come join us, man, took you long enough" Lucas beckoned, chuckling
Xavier kept screaming, wriggling in his bounds
"Stop fucking moving, weirdo," said Tom
"What's going on here, Lucas" Tyler had asked, deeply breathing in and out
"Come on, Galpin, it's not like you haven't wanted to do this?", scoffed Lucas.
‘I-’ Tyler looked down to the forest ground, straining his brain to remember a time when he thought of this.
‘Man - you have the worst memory, it was only last month when you told me at that chick, Sofie's house"
"Haha did I?" Tyler had nervously replied
"We bring the suspect to the woods and leave them for the beast?" Tom called out
"But- what's with the fire?"
"I wanted to change your plan just... a little. We are going to burn him" Lucas snarled towards Xavier
‘Are you guys serious?’ Tyler chuckled gripping his hands tightly
"Yeah, what?" Tom turned to Lucas, "I thought you were kidding Lucas, this isn’t what we agreed, my mum's gonna kill me if she finds out!"
Tyler recalled thinking 'wow he knew that they were bullies but not dumb bullies"
"Whatever man, let's light him up, we gotta get back to the party before someone starts getting suspicious" Lucas grunted, stalking towards Xavier.
"Come on pour the gasoline" Lucas beckoned to Connor
"Lucas- I’m out of here- I can’t" Connor replied dropping the jug on the ground and turning around to run back towards the house.
‘You’re a pussy, Connor!" Lucas yelled turning his head to where Connor left too, he then looked to Tom expectantly
Tom only shook his head, "me too"
"Woah! Do I really have to do everything myself?" Lucas shouted, trudging over to the dropped jug
"Here Tyler hold the torch for me" Lucas had said extending the torch to Tyler, to hold, "And start the fire on him while I open this bad boy"
‘I-I’m not going to do that"
"What do you mean you’re not?"
Tyler was freaking out, he did not want any part of this,
"This is crazy - Lucas" Tyler shouted, in protest.
Lucas was approaching Xavier, one hand held the jug and the other the torch.
Tyler knew he had to stop this, running behind Lucas and grabbing the jug from his grasp.
Knocking the torch out of Lucas's grip to the ground.
"What the hell!" Lucas shouted, turning around and punching Tyler in the face, Tyler toppled over his back hitting the hard forest floor.
"You know I had my sneaky suspicion you were going to do this, lately, you’ve been acting- different"
‘What are you talking about" Tyler shook his head and scrambled up trying to get on his feet, but Lucas kicked him down by his feet, placing his foot on top of Tyler's chest to keep him down.
Tyler groaned, now fully down on the forest floor, the fire only metres from his body.
‘You think I haven’t noticed, your always looking away when we torture one of these little freaks, I’m starting to think you’re one of them too’ Lucas spat down onto Tyler, Tyler scrunching his eyes upon impact.
‘Lucas, I-I can tell you I’m not’ Tyler coughed from the floor, struggling with Lucas's foot pressed into his chest, "I promise!"
"Shut up" Lucas suddenly smirked, and an idea popped into his head, "Xavier over there can wait, let's start with you, Tyler"
Tom came towards Tyler leaning down and holding Tyler's arms firmly in place above his head.
Soon, both Tyler and Xavier were tied, Xavier still propped against the tree, tears in his eyes and Tyler, well the fire was now way too close to him.
‘You’re sick!’ Tyler kept shouting, coughing a little
"You haven’t seen sick just yet" Lucas snarled, "You won’t be around to see it, roll him" Luca ordered Tom
As Tom leant down towards his shoulder to flip him over, Tyler began to feel a familiar sensation in his stomach.
It was warm, and it was slowly spreading throughout his body,
Let go, a voice whispered in Tyler's mind.
And he listened, he did not want to die this way and looking down towards Xavier, he didn't want him to die either.
He took a deep breath, relaxing his body to turn into his true form.
A hyde.
It was truly over for the boys that remained, Tyler can't remember the next parts, but he knows that all he saw was red.
