I chose this image because I found the concept of randomly or “accidentally” capturing the aesthetic or tone of a renaissance painting in modern day photography to be so interesting. And while the post that was made that I got this image from might have more clear cut examples of a Renaissance painting this picture was favorite out of the bunch by far. The fogginess on the windows, the lighting on the main mans face as he’s smiling, and the indifference of the others on the train that surround him. Just the overall all moodiness and drama in this photo I just love, and the fact that it is photography I also just love. Photography has been a medium I’ve been more and more excited/intrigued to use since jointing photography club late last year, and this photo just adds to that excitement for me. Also I would love to just use this photo as a reference for a drawing or painting for myself in general. I feel it could be such a fun challenge me.
