got tagged by @f1-stuff to share a snippet of a WIP ❤️ you guys are in luck because i have way too many unfinished things right now...

this is part of a fic im currently calling dinner party, which is playing around with some seb/charles/carlos love triangle, charles and seb are divorced, and charles has recently married carlos, comedy ensues as charlos invites seb to a housewarming dinner. fingers crossed i actually finish it one day because i love it so far lmfao. writing and tags below the cut 👼👍 enjoy

"I brought wine." He announces, holding it up as an excuse to shrug Charles off of him.

"Oh, you are such a gentleman! Thank you!" Charles scoops the bottle up from Seb's hand, examining the label.

"Bartolo Mascarello, oh, your friend is very generous." Carlos smiles, bringing his hand across Charles back, curling it around his waist. Charles leans into the touch,

"I have good taste." Seb smiles tightly. "And evidently so do you."

Charles' face twitches, almost imperceptibly.

"I have been very into it recently, wine. Charles' doing! He buys me a bottle of 2010 Vega Sicilia when we are doing lunch at Berria, and all of a sudden I am searching on google "how to start vineyard"" Carlos laughs, mimicking typing on his phone. It's genuine, it's insane sounding.

"It's good to have hobbies." Seb nods. "So I can expect that next party you'll be bringing me a bottle of your own then? Yes?"

The elation on Carlos' face is almost childlike, and it makes Seb want to roll his eyes. Pat him on the head like a puppy-dog.

"I like the way he thinks, Charles!" He pinches the meat of Charles' side. "See, it is not so crazy as it sounds."

Charles wiggles and folds at the prodding, making an offended sound.

"I did not say it was crazy, chéri, I said we need to be realistic because we just bought a house and-"

"And I would buy you six more houses if that is what you wanted." Carlos dips Charles back quickly into a kiss to shut him up.

Seb huffs a laugh through his nose. Good to know that still worked.

"So a vineyard is nothing. Now, I must go save your coq a vin, I think it is on fire." Carlos presses another quick kiss to Charles' temple, as he disappears down the hall. It ekes a smile out of Charles.

It's cute, Seb thinks. They suit each other well.

He and Charles stand alone in the foyer.

SooooOOO Hi im about to go on a rant about ancients, guardians and then the uh before ancients

Was on tumblr and then @soaricarus said what if the depths weren't made by the ancients? (Get tagged- you have no idea how much thinking I've done since you made that post)

And got me thinking, is there evidence to support such a theory?

And,,, perhaps yes

The base theory is that the depths and all that is there come from a civilization before our ancients, they simply stumbled across it.

The subterranean echo - two sprouts, twelve brackets - says "so down into the depths you go as so many others before you, drawn to the void again and again, an endless drip drip drip. Much like these tunnels and caves that amuse me so. The bones of forgotten civilisations, heaped like so many sticks."

And I'm thinking why be so amazed by caves and tunnels and such if you made them yourself, right? Bones of civilizations,,,like the buildings that are down there?

We also see statues there and I ran off to my favourite interactive rain world map aaaaand the depths were actually pitch black and uh I went and got screenshots myself-

So these statues, clearly some person right, but they don't look like our ancients. There's no fancy masks you see on their stuff, the whole of depths is weird and odd and different from the rest of the game.

And then we have the guardians with their think rings which are completely unlike anything else

Now the thing that bothers me in all this is our good ol' karma ten symbol

We see that one everywhere, from the guardians, all over the depths statues and ancients. I could say that the karma ten symbol originates from the depths and the ancients just sorta adopted it,,,if you'd like

Back to the guardians um, why have guardians if they're gonna stop you ascending if your karma's bad - I mean yeah safety feature

But clearly the ancients didn't care if they ran through and some got echoed

And the architecture in the depths is different too, you don't really see designs like that anywhere else

And since we find the karma ten symbol there then the symbol is like old old.

The more I think about it the more this makes sense

The ancients dig around make train tunnels, weird dreams, yo let's dig deeper, holy shit caves with weird buildings omg whats that thing with the weird halo.

They go in check it out find the void take a dip in the kfc deepfryer, there's ghosts now. So if 2+2=4 then a correlation must have been made between all the x's everywhere and the void. And we got ourselves the spread of the ascension symbol.

And the iterators- they got a halo.

Not a fancy think ring but it too spins around and changes shape much like if you piss off the box with the rebranded twitter for a face

MOUNTAIN FROG TAG TAHTS MEEEE!!!! iswitched to tumblr laptop so i could type faster anyways prom lore dump dinner was SOOO fun and the last dance dinner im ever gonna do with my best best friend because theyre leaving me for college next year :( but we got yummy pizza and fries and milkshakes and we listened to minecraft parody songs in the car between places YAYYYY!! got to dance with a lot of different people but thank god me and a couple other people brought some public school girlies with us bc good lord my lame little private school peers do not know how to get down let me tell you. The Wedding Bet (Teen, 15.5k total, 1/5 chapters posted) is a HIMYM AU where you don’t need to have seen HIMYM to enjoy it. I decided I hate myself when writing it so the fic is broken up into five Acts, with each Act containing three scenes: Past, Chat, and Present. All Simon POV.

I fight back a grin. “So I’m just about to offer him a bite of my muffin–”

“Is that a euphemism?” Agatha interrupts, sitting beside me. “Hello, Niamh.”

Agatha’s draped one arm over the counter and I can see Niamh’s eyes drop to it briefly before turning her face into a scowl. “We were talking,” Niamh says.

“Uh huh.” Agatha reaches over to pluck a maraschino cherry from behind the bar. Tilting back to expose her long neck, Agatha dangles the fruit above red lips and darts out her tongue to lick a drop of juice that threatens to fall from the garnish. She sucks the cherry into her mouth.

I snap my fingers in front of Niamh’s glazed eyes. “Brody? Brody?”

“I’m listening,” Niamh frowns.

how did you get into art? or is it just something youve always done? youre so good and it makes me want to try drawing again (even tho i am not good (which im not mad at, we all have our strengths!))

Thank you!!! I dont think im any good either, i look at my old art and i cringe and then i wonder how much i will hate my current art one day. I think, finally, in my *thirties* im starting to accept that this feeling will never go away and i cant let it shame me out of drawing. (also pls dont let my feelings about it stop anyone from reblogging or liking my old art on here! I really enjoy that as painful as it is. Someone liked one of my steve aoki sketches from like 2018 the other day and i got sO EXCTIted like omg that drawing is terrible but also someone liked my steve aoki art! (a rarity)). If you look through my wip tag: freebooter4ever.tumblr.com/tagged/wip there should be lots of process stuff and then one post where i talk about the old art i have on here. Im determined to keep everything up no matter how much i hate it bc i know how much it means to me to see more experienced artists' old works. It made the leap from scribbles to 'oh that actually looks like what i was trying for' seem less impossible.

My dad -bless his soul- has only ever kept one drawing of mine: a drawing contest entry from when i was like 4 yrs old. It was of Putt-Putt (from Putt Putt's Parade) and i won, lol. This was back when art was 'aw so cute' and not 'you're fucking ruining your engineering career'. My dad also kept putting me in art classes so he really only has himself to blame for how things turned out. for art internet stuff? I was really REALLY into neop*ets - I idolized artists like Quest, Sithel, IndigoKitten, all those old comics artists in The Aisha Pack. I was also obsessed with the Legend of Zelda drawing style - it was kind of a combo of d*sney and anime - big eyes and crazy flowing hair but with that 3D illusion of life. Aaaaand then there was Arc*hie Comics. I did more fanart of those characters than anything else back then. And lastly D*sney of course. I desperately wanted to be walt for years until i grew up enough to realize that one man didnt draw an entire 2hr full length feature. I was crushed by this revelation, naturally.

And I know most artists are like ‘yeah i was a horse girl when i was in middle school’. But that wasn't me. I was obsessed with fir trees instead. just constant drawings of fir trees. I was really proud when i leveled up and learned how to draw fir trees in SNOW, this was the highlight of my middle school drawing career. I dunno, i was a weird kid. Growing up in the pacific northwest it was either fir trees or salmon i guess.

currently watching: sex education on netflix! i finally got around to watching this show several years after it was originally recommended to me and i hate to admit it but it is, in fact, pretty good. ive been binging it for the past couple of days now and im having a good time!

currently reading: in an extremely strange turn of events for me, i am not actively reading anything at the moment! but i'm in the middle of a couple of books that i'm going to pick up again this week now that i finally have a little bit more time before school starts, namely the name of the rose by umberto eco and maria dahvana headley's translation of beowulf. oh and also i have a copy of persepolis i want to start reading!

current obsession: like tumblr user bittersweetish before me, also ace attorney! which ive been into the series on and off since i was a teen, but ive been back into it since the prequel series came out on switch and i started writing fic for it this past year. which is pretty big for me! i havent really actively written/published stuff before now and ive really been enjoying it. idk what it is about these silly little mystery games, but i find myself continually coming back to them and their characters and finding all of it deeply charming and compelling even at its most ridiculous. genuinely the only reason im not flooding everyones dashes with this constantly is because ive quarantined that insanity to my side blog @miafeystits

I have the best idea ever

Some people are upset about weird stuff being on an archive, where the purpose is archiving all works in a specific medium, right?

So how about instead of removing anything from said archive, we just make a separate website - Ao3 MINUS, where its just ao3 but all the explicit + mature fics are filtered out, common disliked tags can be filtered out by clicking on them at the top of the page, and the color pallet is orange instead of red. And you can't post anything, all the fics are from ao3 so you have to post there. Aaaaand if you want, you can make an account so your filtered tags will be filtered out even if you close the tab or if you're on a different device! (Or we could just use cookies but im not a big fan of those)

And above every 'problematic' fanfic (after you click on it) there's a disclaimer about why incest or whatever is bad and the authors do not condone or encourage the replication of any behaviors in this fictional work in real life, so that the kids don't get confused

Genuine inquiry here, is this website the way to go cuz it sounds pretty sugoi to me

some updates!

HELLO! just swinging by this blog with a few updates for some big ilomilo projects im about to do :~D

the official ilomilo devblog (blog.ilomilo.com) has been down for years and sadly is only accessible via archive.org... but i think it would be really cool to have all of that content on tumblr to be able to access it on the “current” internet and see the development of the characters and mechanics we  know and love, so im going to start a series where i recreate every blog post (explicitly marked as posts that are by the devs and not by me ofc) and tag them all here!

on a similar note i’m planning to do some posts that are collections of info about every character / cube / etc... ive been compiling images and facts and stuff for a couple months in my drafts but once i finish going thru all the blog posts i’ll probably have those posts all ready!

aaaaand... there is a secret third project ive been working on for months and this week i will finally get to start the next stage of it! i’m hoping to have it ready to share by the start of 2023... stay tuned for some potential hints along the way though 😎
