summer troupe's ninth play is here!
SUMMARY: Summer Troupe begins to prepare for their ninth play.
After visiting a group exhibition that Kazunari participated in, the idea of an art gallery-themed play is discussed.
With painting as the main subject, Kazunari is chosen for the lead role!
Tenma is recommended for the co-lead, but being busy with work, he's not too happy about the situation...
Meanwhile, Kazunari is selected for an open-call competition, and a request for a TV interview arises.
After successfully completing the interview, Kazunari overhears a disturbing rumor about himself among a staff member's conversation...

Notes:
1. Citron writes “ぎゅーどん!” (gyuudon), which was most likely supposed to mean something like “cuteness overload,” but in reality means “beef bowl!” So I went with a food that kind of sounded like “so cute”
2. Inari is a popular figure in both Shinto and Buddhist beliefs. Their messengers are foxes, and there’s a popular belief that Inari herself can turn into a fox, but these foxes are usually white.
3. Citron uses the wrong kanji for Sendai. This also happens for Niigata and his own name.
4. It looks like the correct way to eat tebasaki is to twist them in half and then use your teeth to slide the meat right off the bone. It does seem pretty tough if you’re not used to it!
5. Instead of 手羽先 (tebasaki), Citron writes 出っ歯先 (deppa saki), with the kanji for “bucktooth”
6. The “to want” verb ending in Japanese is “たい” (tai). Citron replaces it with 鯛 (tai), which means “sea bream.” He does this a few times throughout his posts.
7. Citron is imitating the Kansai dialect here.
8. It doesn’t actually say “classic” anywhere, but it’s sort of implied and it doesn’t really make sense without it
9. I feel like I kind of have to explain this one lol - イタリアン (Italian) is actually a yakisoba dish. It combines yakisoba with Italian-style meat sauce.
10. He writes 闇, which usually means “darkness,” but if he got the kanji right he probably meant it in terms of “black market”
11. Citron says きばばり (kibabari, which means nothing as far as I can tell) when he may have meant 気晴らし (kibarashi, pastime), so with that in mind I made the first half correct and threw in a random word that rhymed with time for the second half lol
12. A Kyushu Man (九州男児, kyuushuu danji) is sort of a “classic ideal man.” There are positive and negative aspects to this archetype, but Citron’s most likely referring to the image of a brave man with a strong sense of justice (etc.)
13. Lots of yatai have names that end in -chan. I’m honestly not sure if Citron’s making a mistake here or not, but he has the right idea at least.

🌸🌻About my translations🍁❄️
I'll translate some of the old cards' backstage that I have and those that don't have translation yet in yaycupcake. I can also do some of the newest cards if it seems like no one else does. I'm mainly Taichi stan, so you can expect that I'll translate most of his cards.
Translating A3 stuff is just one of my hobbies. I'm doing it just so that I could re-read the stories without relying on the translator app. Plus, I could somewhat learn more about Japanese this way too!
I'll post translations in my own pace. I have a lot of things to do other than translating (i'm still studying in uni). In addition, my translation skills are still kinda a bit novice and they might be kinda simple but I'll do my best to get the message across :)

【A3! Translation】 Golden Hathi (Masterlist)
(special thank you to vega and an for betaing!)
(T/N: hathi is hindi for elephant)
SUMMARY: While watching an Indian film, the troupe members win special pre-opening tickets to a theme park from a postcard sweepstakes.
However, since many members wanted to attend, the troupe asks to make their trip to "Bollywood Studios" a training camp in order to supervise the shows!
While inside the park before it opens, the troupe members supervise the production and dancing of the periodic shows.
One day, during a stage rehearsal with the performers, a problem arises with a device that's supposed to be used at the end of the performance--.

*trumpets* My mac is back!
I can finally get back into the swing of things. I’m gonna take is slowly, so it may take a bit for things to come back in full swing, especially until March 9th, since I’ll be very occupied with A3!EN while I can be ;w;
But! I’ll get back to working on headcanons and hot takes, and answering some of those basic asks that I just... never got to. I’m really sorry about that ^^;;;
I’m also going to bring back the #devilgram rush tag while I catch up with those posts. I think we’re in a better position than we were last time, but I still don’t want to overrun you all with those posts if you don’t want to see them. So feel free to block the tag #devilgram rush if you aren’t interested in the devilgram comment translation posts. I’ll remove the tag from each post once it’s 2 weeks old so you can easily access it later if you so choose.
Lastly, I added the pokemon teams headcanons to the masterlist since I forgot to put it there before!
