#Yuuji: megumi said it's never been like that between them
when yuuji and megumi finally got together, what were everyone’s reactions? like inumaki and panda obviously threatened yuuji in the most nonsensical way possible but what about gojo and nanami and the others? like finally seeing their little boy grow up to be old enough to date and immediately going for the worst possible candidate in a lot of people’s minds *cough—the zenin—cough*.
if gojo was on the verge of a mental breakdown from just giving Megumi The Talk, i can’t imagine just how hard it hit him that his little sea urchin was growing up so fast.
What must be understood is that the second years have been following their relationship from its inception like it’s their favorite soap opera. Maki clocked it when Megumi tried to kill Kamo Noritoshi with an elephant over him and all of them have been overly invested in it since. Those are their beloved kohais. They’re both so stupid and vulnerable. Like idiot babies. They want them to be happy idiot babies who hold hands.
Yuuta would fight special grade curses with one hand and text Maki with the other to find out if they were dating yet and maki would text back “no but they each killed a special grade and megumi has a domain expansion now” and Yuuta would text back “what am I MISSING”. Inumaki thought if they gave them nine years or so megumi would work himself up to a hand graze and Yuuta would freak out because they don’t have that kind of TIME. Panda texted Yuuta in a panic weeks after everyone else figured it out to tell him that he thinks megumi and the kid who’s sukunas vessel like each other and Yuuta had to pretend to be surprised as if the entire matter was not giving him stress sweats from Africa.
The unofficial reaction was that maki sent a gif of a ship coming into port into the group chat and everyone celebrated like it was new years and the ball had just dropped because thank fuck it finally happened.
As a side note, the second years all consider themselves parents of three and are only half joking about that fact. It’s so hard raising teens. The little shits keep fighting things. None of them have any social skills. All three of them are completely feral. They’re pretty sure nobara bit a purse snatcher the last time they went out into the city.
But that was the unofficial reaction. They can’t tell Megumi or Yuuji about that.
Yuuta actually gets a call from Megumi to tell him that he has a boyfriend, and he had to pretend like all this was news to him as if he had not spent the past three months more invested in this than anything in his own life. Yuuta told him that he was happy for him, and that he couldn't wait to meet Yuuji, and lived in blissful ignorance about the fact that Yuuji screamed into his own pillow for twenty minutes that night because Megumi came and told him that Okkotsu-senpai was important to him and he'd like it if they got to know each other.
Maki started a campaign of teasing Megumi about his new boyfriend, because she sort of loves giving her little nephew shit. Megumi wonders why life has to be this hard.
Inumaki and Panda had already given Yuuji the shovel talk (it was part of what made Yuuji realize he was completely in love with Megumi) and had a stunningly moving congratulations and dating advice speech for Yuuji that featured a power point presentation.
Its moving nature was slightly impacted by the fact that Inumaki gave it.
Inumaki patted him manfully on the back, and Panda gave him a brotherly hair ruffle, and Yuuji continued to be confused as to what the hell was up with the second years.
The issue with Gojo is that they can never tell when he's taking the piss or if he's being genuine. Like, Gojo loves giving him a hard time. It's a classic "Fushiguro is getting hit on" conundrum. Is he actually devastated that his little boy is growing up or is he just doing it to fuck with them?
Megumi insists that he's doing it to be an idiot and refuses to speak to him for days, which does not help with all the weeping.
Whatever the case, it's enough to annoy Nanami, because he keeps agonizing over how his baby was swept up by some jock who was going to steal his sweetness and Nanami would take offense on Yuuji's behalf because Itadori Yuuji is a gentleman and a delightful young man and Gojo should be glad that Megumi is dating someone like him.
Megumi wonders why life has to be this hard sometimes.
Nanami is just happy for them both and gives them both private congratulations wherein he tells them that he's glad they have each other and that they are good together. He is the most normal of them all.

୨୧ JUJUSTU HIGH CAMPUS CRUSHES
ft. satoru gojo, yuta okkotsu, suguru geto, yuuji itadori, & megumi fushiguro
tags. highschool au, (but could be viewed as college kinda) gn!reader, a bit of cussing, all fluff ! / author's note. got a little carried away but its fine… :3
Tumblr media
SATORU is everyone's hallway crush, you included. luckily for you, he was in one of your classes. he sat a few seats in front of you that gave you the perfect view that allowed you to look at him, and not get caught staring. (but you've almost gotten caught on multiple occasions due to him whipping his head around like he could feel your stare he could) one day to your surprise, (or horror) your teacher switched seats for the new semester and he was sitting next to you. the second your teacher said his and your name, your heart started racing so fast. it didn't help when you sat down next to him and your heart started to pound out of your chest. you were afraid that he could hear it. and oh my god, was he ten times more handsome up close. your first impression of his personality, was.. not good. he was ever so slightly annoying (teasing you and whatnot) and asked you for a pencil. every. goddamn. day. the first few times you've handed him a pencil without really acknowledging it. but days turned into weeks of him asking you for a pencil. (it's actually his master plan, and he thinks since you've held the pencil before and now he's holding it, it's like indirectly holding hands with you!) he was a little shit to be honest, but at least that could help you cover your crush on him anyway.
YUTA has to bear the misfortune of having no classes with you. the poor boy never even sees you in the hallways during passing period either. no classes, no passing you in the halls—nothing. the only time he's ever seen you was during orientation. but the fact that your friends with maki, tells him he still has a little luck. although you and maki aren't in the same friend group, she still occasionally finds you during lunch to chat with you. since maki knows that yuta has a tiny crush on you, she lets him tag along whenever she visits you. you immediately light up when you see maki, waving to her with a smile, but when you see yuta, you visibly tense up. you had seen him in a few of maki's instagram posts and couldn't help but think he was maybe, a tiny bit cute. however, you quickly compose yourself as maki catches you up on anything in her life, and you catch her up on yours. when you smiled or laughed at whatever maki had just said, (he wasn't listening to a single word that came out of either of your mouths) yuta melted. your smile, was so so cute. and your laugh, he could listen to it all day. maybe yuta will engage in the conversation next time, to be the one to make you laugh.
SUGURU is your out-of-this world handsome deskmate. you've been sitting next to him since the first day, (since your teacher actually assigned seats) and oh my god. not only does he have the looks, he's also a gentleman, a sweetheart, and everything in between. lends you pencils or paper whenever you need it, always grabs materials for the two of you if you ever need to get out of your seat to get them, and walks you to your next class. one day though while the two of you were walking to your class after lunch, a boy with white hair who was roughly around the same height as suguru, came up to him and mumbled something along the lines of, “so, when are you gonna ask them out?” as he wiggled his eyebrows. maybe you misheard, but either way your heart started pounding. suguru gives the boy an annoyed, eyes-wide open look and pushes him away before laughing and apologizing for him. (he was secretly praying that you did not hear any of that) suguru thinks that satoru has teased him enough about his deskmate, and maybe he really should ask you out soon.
YUUJI is the boy in your math who can't help but stare at you in class. he's might or might not have been caught by you a few times but hey, you think he's cute too. and since he's too busy staring at you, he has no clue what is going on in class. what does this mean? it's a perfect opportunity for him to ask you to help him! one day after class, he enthusiastically asked you to help him with a few practice problems, (there was a quiz coming up, so he hoped he didn't look obvious) and you agreed. you were going to finally talk to the boy who you had been crushing on for the past couple months, but you could totally mess up your first impression. what if you weren't a good enough tutor? what if— oh. that didn't matter anymore because before you knew it, the day you had scheduled to tutor him had arrived. to your surprise, he's early and already sitting at a table in your school library with all of his materials out. truth be told, he was freaking out in his head and just wanted to look organized and prepared with all of his things already out. after setting your things down and pulling out your materials, you begin to teach him the concept—oh my god. yuuji cannot pay attention for the life of him right now because of your voice. it's so soothing that he doesn't break out of this trance until you whisper yell his name about 10 times. he realizes he so has a massive crush on you.
MEGUMI was the quiet (but cute!) boy who got paired up with you during a group project. fortunately for you, he was the type to actually pull their weight in a group project rather than just letting the other person do all the work and taking credit for it. you couldn't help but notice that he was kinda, sorta cute as well. and maybe you've tried finding him on social media, but ended up being too scared to follow him. he surprisingly still talked to you even after you finished the project, and even paired up with you willingly from that point on. he seemingly got more comfortable around you and started opening up and talking more. he cracked jokes every once in a while, which if you were being honest with yourself weren't that funny, but you laugh anyway. a few months into the school year, megumi realizes that he might just have a crush on you. he was always looking forward to class with you, and he swore he felt butterflies in his stomach whenever you walked into class. megumi starts to wonder if he should start asking his friends for advice..

ryomen sukuna x f!reader
**part of my best friends older brother fic
previous part linked here
--
sukuna wakes up three hours later to the bright light of your phone, and more distinctively, your right hand in his hair, brushing his pink locks away from his forehead. he blinks the sleep out of his eyes properly to find you sitting criss crossed within the sheets, hunched over on your phone, with your face scrunched up in frustration.
he half considers not broaching why you’re awake at this hour just to ensure that your touch wouldn’t cease. that you’d continue tangling your fingers with his hair.
“what’s your problem?” he asks.
you retreat your hand from his hair, wincing as you mumble out your apology. sukuna muses that you were almost getting too predictable.
“did i wake you up?” you ask.
sukuna scoots closer to you on the bed, before lifting one of your legs to readjust himself. he’s settled himself right in between the softness of your thighs, before he reaches for your hand again and sets it back into his hair.
you swallow commenting on how needy he is as you comb through the tresses of his hair, noting how he seems to soften into your legs the more pressure you apply.
“what’s so important on your phone that you’re interrupting my sleep?” he mumbles.
“sorry. was just texting megumi. i was supposed to call yuuji when he got home but it kind of slipped my mind.” you respond, before setting your phone down into the sheets and placing your other hand into his hair too.
“something distracting you?”
sukuna grins as he flips over, lifting his head to rest his chin against your stomach. he places a kiss to your clothed skin before giving you a sleepy smile.
“clearly.” you respond.
“he’s okay?”
“yeah. i’ll talk to him tomorrow.”
“nothing i could help him with i suppose. no one understands shitty older siblings like the two of you.”
you tense underneath him, enough for him to wish he minced his words. sukuna knew that broaching any part of that, of something almost sacred between yuuji was something he couldn’t push you on. though it wasn’t hard to deduce - your horrid attempts at whispering in the kitchen weren’t lost to him.
“hey. he loves you. it’s not like that.”
“what was it he said? sitting all high and mighty?”
you sigh, and enough for sukuna to properly open his eyes and sit up.
“i’m joking.” he adds.
sukuna can tell his words aren’t enough. it usually takes very little, a mix of sweet talking to settle you down, which makes him happier than he can admit. only because it indicates to him that his words can hold so much weight, especially to you.
“i mean it. you guys are well past that. have been since you came back.” you murmur.
sukuna knows that you’re right. that despite the fact that yuuji never talked to sukuna in the four years he was gone, despite his best efforts to reach out, their relationship was nearly repaired the second he made it back to tokyo. and it means more since the two of them getting along would mean something to you now.
sukuna left when he was sixteen and made his best efforts not to regret it now.
behind everyone’s backs, he had taken an early exit out of his required schooling and applied to a four year boarding school in europe. he had only dropped the news to everyone five days before he left, in efforts to not let the crippling sense of servitude he felt towards his family hold him back.
“were you mad i left?” he murmurs, pushing up on his elbows, his breath tickling your neck.
“no.”
“did you miss me?” he asks.
it’s a selfish question. sukuna knows that the answer should be no. that it is no. but he’ll pretend your honey sweet answer, laced with a lie, is true for the night. that you’ll tell him exactly what he wants to hear - that you thought of him constantly when you left.
“i was sad you left without saying goodbye. but i was too busy worrying about my own sister and all that.”
sukuna can tell the answer is honest. and it’s satiating enough to know that you had noted it, that you were hurt that he hadn’t given you more importance before he made his escape. that you wanted to be important to him.
“is that why you haven’t told yuuji? that we’re dating? breaks some secret pact you both have?”
you smile.
“are we dating?” you whisper.
sukuna lightly pushes you over, before leaning on top of you and nuzzling his face into your arms. his legs are tangled to the side, his pressure soothing on your chest.
“are you seeing other guys i don’t know about?” he asks.
“of course.” you joke.
sukuna brings his hand down on your neck, his one hand sliding around the length of your neck. he squeezes slightly and you feign choking before he rolls his eyes.
“shut up, brat.”
“well. you never asked. you can’t just decide we’re dating.” you state.
“i won’t ask.” he mumbles.
“ask.” you prod.
“no.”
“ask me!”
“i already decided we were dating a long time ago. catch up.”
you figure that if sukuna can test you, push your buttons to get what he wants, so can you. and you imagine that it’ll be infinitely easier, that it’ll take less work from you when he’s barely awake. you bring your hands around his cheeks, before pressing a kiss to his forehead.
“please?” you whisper.
sukuna groans.
“be my girlfriend.” he states.
“that’s not asking.”
“y/n.”
“c’mon.” you prod.
he glares at you.
“be. my girlfriend.” he repeats, more sternly.
“cute. but no.” you respond.
sukuna glares for three seconds and you cave.
“sorry! i’m sorry. fine. i was just messing with you so i’d feel better.” you respond, to which he releases his gaze.
he pauses.
“do you need to feel better?”
“hm?”
if you’re upset, that’s certainly one thing he can fix.
“do you need me to make you feel good?” he asks.
it’s something that’s been on your mind, more frequently than not. and it lingers for too long, that feeling that you’re denying him something, that there’s something he’s waiting for that you haven’t yet delivered.
yuuji talks. so does megumi. and the two years of highschool that you got with sukuna were enough.
sukuna was always an overachiever, as he so poignantly coined it. he was smart. smart enough to graduate early even, to get into an exchange program and get out of the suburbs. he was athletic, his attitude towards teachers was viewed as charming rather than plucky, and obviously he wasn’t short of being attractive, of having girls interested in him.
you distinctly remember his first school dance when you were a eighth grader. or more importantly, that sukuna was dressed up in a tux, having his tie fixed by his mom while you and yuuji quietly watched him attend the senior prom. as a sophomore.
yuuji mentioned that sukuna always seemed to be sleeping around, something corroborated by the fact that he was almost always talking to a different girl almost every time you saw him. megumi thought he was trashy even.
but here he was, being patient, being painstakingly patient, that it only felt right. that you had to reward him for it.
“okay. sure.”
sukuna’s fully awake now, his eyes meeting yours as you feel a shiver go down your spine.
“are you okay with this?”
“yeah. yeah, i am.”
“and you’ll tell me to stop if you stop being okay with it?” he states.
you give him a nod, slightly embarrassed that it was something he had to confirm. like he knew you were going to chicken out of it.
“i need to hear you say it.” he whispers.
“i will.” you mumble.
you’re almost positive that sukuna doesn’t do this with every other girl he’s been with - something confirmed in your mind by the fact that sukuna’s so gentle, his touch is so perfect, that you feel you’re never going to be able to let go of him. and can’t imagine that other people have let him slip out of his grasp.
it’s not too different from the other times sukuna’s touched you - something he tends to always be doing. he’s more affectionate than you expected, for someone who was so reserved, so stern in almost every memory you have of him.
but he uses endearments, pet names almost every time he talks to you - currently whispering words that make your entire body heat up, almost more than his hands on you.
“my pretty baby’s so wound up. let me fix that for you, hm?”
his words were almost enough to make your entire body heat up more than his hands. key word, almost. but there was something about his touch, so soft, firm in different places that it made you nearly limp in his arms.
his hands were in your hair, on your legs just to pull you closer to him, resting on your cheeks when he kissed you. your predictions suggested to you that sukuna would have bored out, tired from just kissing you when you had given him full permission for the first time, but he wouldn’t let up, making it a point to kiss every patch of skin he could.
it’s only then that it occurs to you that you haven’t touched him. you lift your hands, before freezing them in the air, unable to do it. but the shifting is enough to make sukuna stop.
“you still okay?”
“yeah. yeah, i was just-” you respond, catching your breath as he smiles.
“your hands were up. you can push me off if it gets to be too much.” he whispers, pulling back.
“no. no, i was…i was going to touch you. just got shy for a second…”
sukuna grins at you, before leaning his forehead against yours. he tries his best to ground himself in the moment, realizing he was going too fast, getting too carried away too quickly.
he can smell the remnants of your shampoo in your hair, focusing in on it, before he settles both of his hands into the crooks of each of your elbows.
“you can touch me.” he murmurs.
“okay. you-you’ll stop me right? if you feel weird?” you ask.
sukuna laughs.
“i can’t imagine i’d ever do that, but yes. i will stop you.”
you give him a satisfied nod, as you reach forward and scoot into his lap. his hands instinctively reach for your waist, holding you steady, as you inspect his tattoos in the dim light of the dark.
you reach forward and trace your fingers all the way down. you had only seen them peeking out from the collar of his shirt here and there, but this was your chance to look at them properly.
“did you get these all at the same time?” you ask.
“no. most of them are from when i was gone. this one right here-”
he guides your hand to the left side of your chest, placing your palm flat against his beating heart before letting go.
“-was right when i came back.”
“s’pretty. you’re pretty.” you mumble.
you instinctively squeeze, before the two of you quietly laugh.
“did you just cop a feel?” sukuna asks.
“maybe. seemed squishy.”
“and was it?”
“no. it was really underwhelming.” you respond, earning another laugh from him.
it’s almost too gratifying, the smaller things - making him laugh, seeing him smile. it was so rare to see it before and the fact that he does it for you, does it so freely, is enough to make your stomach fill with an embarrassing amount of warmth.
“your turn?” he asks, voice so low you can barely hear it.
you nod, that biting wave of anxiety instantly hitting you when sukuna’s hands slither under your tank top. his lips find their way back to yours, his breath heavy on your face as you try to swallow it down and let him keep going.
sukuna makes every effort to drag this on for as long as he can, for multiple reasons. so that your standards were never lowered, so that you’d never settle for callous hands and shitty guys in bars - not that he’d ever think you’d talk to anyone but him ever again. that he’d let anyone else see you like this.
sukuna felt like he was slowly figuring you out like you were the back of his hand. you always seemed to be withholding something, almost like it was a wall right there with him in the room, but that let him in when he knocked. and right now, he had every intent to make you feel good. to reward you for trusting him. to savor you.
he notices the trembling when he brings his hands up to your chest, when he lets them linger for too long. it’s so slight, almost in par with your breathing, but he notices it and immediately pulls back.
“are you still okay?” he asks.
the hesitation in your response is enough of an answer for him. he swallows down the dry patch in his throat - nearly cursing himself for going too far, too fast with you exactly where he knew you were reserved - before he brings his hands up to your cheeks, trying to get you to meet his eyes.
“what can i do?” he whispers.
“i’m so sorry. i didn’t mean to, it was-”
“tell me how to make it better. what do you need right now?”
it’s almost embarrassing to ask for it. to make him overextend, to attend to you when you were the one who ruined the moment. and it felt increasingly stupid for you to push your own boundaries too, that you were going to scare him off now.
“please.” he whisper.
you look up to find his brown eyes, washed over in concern, as he cups the left side of your face. it’s enough to push you.
“do you have a shirt i can wear? this just feels too…”
“yes. do you need a long sleeve or-”
“short is okay.”
“do you need me to wear one too?” he asks.
you sigh.
“could you? i just feel…”
before you can even finish your sentence, sukuna’s pushed himself off the bed and rummages quickly through his closet before he returns. he snags his own shirt over his neck before sitting back down on the bed in front of you, his voice soft.
“arms up, pretty girl.”
you oblige, as sukuna pulls the shirt over you, his hands shaking as he dutifully attends to you. he’s pulling the sleeves down to your elbows, the fabric drowning every inch of your body as he readjusts it.
the two of you sit in silence, your hand curled into his as you try to muster out the best words to say. to selfishly, keep him around you.
“i’m not very good at this intimacy type of thing. i-i’m not sure if you’ve noticed.”
some part of your guard is down. the curious part of him wants to push, to crawl all the way in and never leave. but he makes his best efforts. to remain persistent in letting you make the calls here.
“explain.”
“i just mean. you always kiss me first. and-and you kiss me a lot. i really like it, but sometimes i think it’s weird if i initiate it first. like-like it’ll keep going.”
“i’ll always kiss you back, if that’s what you mean…”
“no. no, it’s…it’s kind of embarrassing to admit. like logically, i know it won’t happen. but you’re a guy. you…you have lots of experience and you obviously like to do things like this. a lot of people do. it-it’s normal. but sometimes i feel, in the moment, like i’m not ready to do all of that yet. to go farther…”
sukuna understands. he pulls his hand under your chin, using the knuckles of his pointer finger to guide your line of vision back to him.
“you call the shots. always.”
“i know.”
“i don’t expect anything from you. if you just want to kiss me, i am more than happy to just kiss you, y/n.” he whispers.
you can feel the tears in your eyes at sukuna’s tone. and the way his face falls at the sight of your tears is enough to make you fully cry.
“princess. who’s got you thinking like this?” he murmurs.
sukuna’s not one for words. though it seems he seems to always have the ones that fit just right. his thumbs are brushing away the wetness on your cheek, before he leans down and presses a kiss to your nose.
“you know that i’m more experienced than you. so will you give weight to my words when i say them?”
“okay.”
“intimacy can mean lots of things. having sex is intimacy, sure. that’s a no brainer. but…there’s so much more to it. i can promise you, you aren’t bad at being intimate with me.”
“really?”
it’s the fact that it's three in the morning. that’s what sukuna will pin it on tomorrow. why he feels the need, why it feels so easy to talk so freely with you. that and the fact that he feels the need to lick each and every one of your wounds, to smooth over the rough patches.
“i felt close to you at the dinner last night. when you were holding my hand under the table. you squeezed really hard when your mom was hurting your feelings, almost like you were trying to tell you that it made you upset…that’s intimacy to me.”
“are you trying to butter me up? don’t make stuff up.” you jokingly respond, earning a wide smile from him.
“you were relying on me. telling me something. that’s intimate.”
he reaches forward, pulling the hair out of the collar of the shirt before tucking it behind your ears.
“i know that’s hard for you to do. i appreciate it when you can do that, when you trust me.”
you swallow hard, before putting your hand back where it was resting before, over the beating of his heart.
“i trust you. just…give me time to figure out the words?”
“it’s not a race. i’m not planning on going anywhere.”
"promise?" you ask, holding out your pinkie to him.
you watch his eye twitch.
"i'm not going to do a fucking pinkie promise."
the two of you laugh and it's enough to make your cheeks hurt.
it’s solidified one thing in your mind. that look in his eyes, the way he tucks you into him before his stupid teasing voice lulls you to sleep.
that you have to tell yuuji the first chance you get.

Tumblr media
and maybe in this lifetime, I'm the bride
YOU can't bear the pain anymore, so you just let yourself fall— hoping your two lovers would understand.
Tumblr media
— 2019
⠀ ⠀⠀It's just you now.
⠀ ⠀⠀Everyone dies, almost everyone you know is no longer by your side. Again, again and again, you're alone. Always. It will always be like that. Everyone leaves, leaving you alone. It's as if fate forces you to stay alive just as a reminder, as a piece of walking memory. And every day your shoulders continue to slump due to carrying this burden, until sometimes you feel unable to walk, even to crawl.
⠀ ⠀⠀It's been months since Gojo Satoru's death. He just left you and now everyone hopes you will continue living normally. Expecting you to keep fighting as if all your friends hadn't died, as if now all your souls hadn't left, Satoru and Suguru. Feeling your breath catch every time you open your eyes and feeling all the responsibility placed on your shoulders just because you are alive. You don't want to live if all you feel is tired. Feeling with every step a large rock chained around your neck, making your steps falter every time.
⠀ ⠀⠀Every day you hate everyone more, you hate curses more than you should. It feels unfair how they can let the strongest die first while you who are weak can live longer. You hated the higher-ups—you never hated anyone more than you hated them. It was the higher-ups who were responsible for all your friends' deaths, Satoru's death. They and the clan heads who felt that it was okay to send anyone to fight against the curse while they just sat on chairs made from ill-gotten money and the bones of witches. Just how unfair the world you live in is.
⠀ ⠀⠀You felt sick of having to fight and heal people afterwards, with Shoko. You were sure he felt the same way. Feeling stuck with the obligation to fuel a tank that should have been empty years ago. You grew more and more disgusted every time you succeeded in healing the witches— knowing you would only send them back to the endless battlefield. Continue like that until you feel that their death is a blessing and their health is a curse.
⠀ ⠀⠀ “Y/n?”
⠀ ⠀⠀You turn around.
⠀ ⠀⠀Yuuji Itadori.
⠀ ⠀⠀You look at the face that is usually decorated with joy and a big smile, now it's just empty. The wound between his eyes and lips was clearly visible. His brown eyes no longer radiated the life they had when he first came to Jujutsu High. You feel sorry for the young man in front of you. Too young to be cursed, too young to see how the world works, too young to lose his soul.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Are you okay?” he asked.
⠀ ⠀⠀He knew the answer, of course, but he chose to ask anyway. You didn't answer but turned your gaze back to the front. Yuji stepped towards you and stopped when he arrived beside you. Both hands were on the fence and faced forward for a moment. The two of you stood in silence before a sigh finally left Yuji's mouth and he turned to you. He tucked your hair behind your ear to see your face better from the side. It feels like he is looking in a mirror every time he looks at your face. The same expression that had been plastered on your face ever since Satoru died. An expression that showed that you had lost your soul, the same expression that he is gonna have once Megumi sooner or later once Sukuna was out of it.
⠀ ⠀⠀“We need to move somewhere safe,” he said.
⠀ ⠀⠀You chuckled sarcastically. There is no safe place, Yuji knows that. “I'll be waiting,” he said. He kissed your head before leaving you alone. You took a deep breath. Itadori Yuji is just like Gojo Satoru, just like you. He won't last long once Sukuna leaves Megumi's body—Megumi's death. The rest of them will die like the rest of your friends, falling one by one like dust. And there you will be, standing with wounded hands, picking up the pieces and healing whoever is left. Killing curses, burning skulls, and healing wounds, over and over again in an endless loop. Your version of infinity.
⠀ ⠀⠀I'm not sure how much of this I can take
⠀ ⠀⠀You can't get through the day without burning your lungs. Spend 3 packs every day. Forcing yourself to give your hand something to hold. One of you is holding a cigarette or burying your hand between the skulls of your lifeless friends. Inhaling deeply the scent of cigarettes in hopes of overpowering the smell of burning skulls. Apart from Shoko, no one can understand what you do, no one can do what you do. You feel guilty for the power you have.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Both you and Suguru understood that..”
⠀ ⠀⠀You try to save whoever you can, but every day you don't want to. Healing them makes you feel like you cursed them and that hurts you. Healing them only means they can suffer even worse than they already have to. “God, they're just kids..” You started to forget their names, you had to. You shouldn't let yourself get too connected to them.
⠀ ⠀⠀Now you're the last one, there's no more Satoru and Suguru, just you. And yet you still feel left behind. Excluded, the eternal third wheel.
⠀ ⠀⠀“I'm not even allowed to follow you to the afterlife, am I?”
⠀ ⠀⠀Satoru left everything under your care and now you're starting to feel guilty because your anger at him for his lack of attention because this is too much. People look up to you for protection when in reality you want them all dead, so that they no longer feel pain. It is very difficult for you to tell them the truth—say that they will die soon or say that they must say their goodbyes to their loved ones, or to the people they love.
⠀ ⠀⠀You wish you had the luxury to shout at them to run as far as they can, to fight for their youth— “But I'm not strong like you, Satoru,” you whisper.
⠀ ⠀⠀“I hope you're happy, Satoru, I really do.”
⠀ ⠀⠀You take a deep breath. Your sad and empty eyes stare straight ahead. Another expanse of blue and skyscrapers as far as your eyes can see. The gentle breeze gently kisses your skin which now seems to no longer have any color. Clarify yourself who looks like a walking corpse.
⠀ ⠀⠀“You've been so sad it became all you were, maybe in death you'll let that sadness go.”
⠀ ⠀⠀You smiled and stretched your arms into the air. Your eyes are closed. You slowly inhale, letting the scent of spring fill your lungs.
⠀ ⠀⠀“And maybe in death I'll let that sadness go too.”
⠀ ⠀⠀With a smile, you let yourself fall.
⠀ ⠀⠀From the 28th floor.

Tumblr media
⠀ ⠀⠀
⠀ ⠀⠀You open your eyes.
⠀ ⠀⠀Your eyes are met with a field of flowers as far as the eye can see. The sky was pink with orange and purple mixed beneath it—showing how the sun was about to set. Your face shines due to the sunlight that kisses you tenderly. The color in your face now appears again, showing the redness in your cheeks and the life in your eyes. You feel more alive than ever. You don't feel anything, you don't feel sadness, pain, anything.
⠀ ⠀⠀You feel happy, after a long time.
⠀ ⠀⠀The gentle wind brushes your skin and hair, making it blow backwards. The wind makes the flower leaves fly away from you. You turned around to see where the leaves were flying. Your feet lightly run, running slowly following where the leaves lead. You felt so incredibly happy that a small laugh came out of your mouth as you ran.
⠀ ⠀⠀Your steps stopped when your gaze fell on the backs of two people you knew so well. Stand next to each other and look straight ahead. Your smile slowly disappeared and your eyes opened wide. Instantly, tears quickly rolled down your cheeks when one of them turned to look at you. His white hair moved to and fro following the wind. He opened his arms wide and at the same time someone next to him turned to look at you.
⠀ ⠀⠀ Without you realizing it, your feet quickly ran until your body hit two people's bodies until their bodies staggered slightly backwards. Your arms wrapped around their neck tightly while your chin rested on their shoulder. You're crying. After letting yourself bottle it all up for months now you finally let yourself cry. Spilling out all the pain and longing there.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Oh, my love..”
⠀ ⠀⠀Those two people, your two lovers— they put their arms around your waist, pulling you close and burying their faces in your neck. For a moment, you stand and remain in that position. You can feel the small kisses that your two lovers give accompanied by soft words saying how much they miss you. You just keep crying. Can't help yourself after feeling their warm embrace for so long.
⠀ ⠀⠀“I thought I told you not to come to us too fast,” Satoru broke the silence as he moved his face away from your neck and looked at you. He stood up straight to look at your face, as did Suguru. “You shouldn't be here, not this fast,” said Suguru. His hand flew up and landed on your wet cheek. You closed your eyes and leaned closer into his palm, missing the warmth of your lover. His thumb caressed your soft, wet cheek.
⠀ ⠀⠀“I miss you,” was all you could say.
⠀ ⠀⠀You opened your eyes to look at Suguru. You realize some things when you look at them. His black hair now looked longer than the last time you saw him and he let it hang loose—blown by the wind. And Satoru, no longer wears a blindfold or glasses, letting his beautiful blue eyes blend with the sky. Looks more beautiful than usual.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Oh, my love— must be so hard for you, you must be lonely.”
⠀ ⠀⠀Yes.
⠀ ⠀⠀But now not anymore.
⠀ ⠀⠀It's not just you now.
⠀ ⠀⠀Satoru is here with you, Suguru is here with you. In a place you don't know what to call, a place you don't know where it is. A place that for the first time makes you feel happy again, like the summer of 2006. A place that makes you for the first time not feel afraid to stay alive. The place that first made you want to live.
⠀ ⠀⠀There was a feeling of inevitability in your heart now, just like the first time you met your two lovers. The sense that you would be together, how every smile, every whispered brings you closer to the impossible conclusion.
⠀ ⠀⠀You feel the warmth that you have longed for. Strangely, you start to hope as if fear was never in your heart. Your dreams are big and you are so sure that this time everything will come true. Feeling like you and your lover will lose track of day and night, counting the stars and waiting for the sun to rise the next day. Without feeling afraid that you will run out of time.
⠀ ⠀⠀You smiled faintly as your eyes looked straight ahead. You feel happy. Satoru who was sitting next to you smiled looking at your face which was covered in orange light from the side. You sat next to him and your body straightened while he leaned back in the chair. “Now I'm full, my lovely star,” — he keeps looking at you with a gentle smile on his lips. Looking at you like you put the stars in his sky. Looking at you like you're the star itself.
⠀ ⠀⠀“You're staring again, 'Toru,” you said and finally turned around. A thin, sweet smile perched on your lips. Satoru widened his smile before he tucked your hair behind your ear. “I miss you,” he whispered, still smiling making you chuckle slightly. “I miss you more,” you whispered back, this time he was the one who chuckled a little.
⠀ ⠀⠀“You must have suffered a lot after Suguru left, I'm sorry for forgetting you. Those summers included to you just as much as they belonged to me, and he is yours just as much as he is mine, I'm sorry I took that away from you—”
⠀ ⠀⠀He paused, “I mean— it's too late, we're already dead but still, I'm sorry. I love you just as much as I love him—”
⠀ ⠀⠀“I love you too,” you interrupted.
⠀ ⠀⠀Satoru fell silent again— just staring at you with his blue eyes wide open. He gently pulled you up to hear and wrapped his arms around your body. He kissed your head as you rested your head on his shoulder. He breathed a sigh of relief as if the last burden weighing on his shoulders had disappeared instantly.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Satoru, Y/n!”
⠀ ⠀⠀You both looked back to find Suguru standing not far behind you with a smile on his lips. Walk along a stretch of green grass with flowers on your right and left. Your hands locked with Suguru and Satoru's, feeling their warmth. As you walk down the street, you see some people who are familiar to you. One of them waved at you and smiled broadly.
⠀ ⠀⠀And a second later you were in Haibara's arms. A cheerful laugh came out of his mouth. “Easy there, Y/n,” he said and wrapped his arms around you. Haibara smiled softly as she looked down at you. His hand stroked your hair gently. “I always knew that you're pretty, but seeing how pretty you look when you're older makes me upset for not staying a little longer,” he said. You laughed, “Oh, God, I miss you,” you said. He chuckled.
⠀ ⠀⠀“You're not supposed to be here, Y/n, not yet,” a deep voice said. “Nanami! I miss you,” you turned from Haibara to the man beside her. You can see that there are no more glasses that usually adorn his face. He smiled this time, looking freer than usual.
⠀ ⠀⠀Everyone here.
⠀ ⠀⠀You feel very, very happy. You never imagined that death could bring happiness. You can't imagine that you can meet your lovers again. Walk side by side with each other and hold hands. With your friends, even Mimiko and Nanako. They have grown into such beautiful women.
⠀ ⠀⠀and Megumi.
⠀ ⠀⠀He followed you not long after. Walking in front of you while holding the hand of his sister, Tsumiki. He glanced at you for a moment and smiled. You couldn't help but feel happy when you saw him. He finally got the peace and happiness he deserved.
⠀ ⠀⠀Finally, now you are at the end of your journey, which you didn't know would end here. To a place where the land is filled with green grass and flowers. A place of taut winds, night longer than a monk's long prayer. You find each other, you recognize each other, and your hands are still warm from their living. You can see the blood flow back to your lips, your eyes begin to return from that impossible darkness.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Did our love survive?”
⠀ ⠀⠀You looked up to look at your right side, smiling as you looked at Suguru. He smiled and leaned down to kiss your forehead. Then you turned to Satoru who was already looking at you first. He smiled before he leaned in to kiss your cheek—making you smile even wider.
⠀ ⠀⠀“Yes, it does.”
⠀ ⠀⠀And now you're gonna build a small cabin in whatever place is this. Gonna learn to talk again, not of the past, you don't remember well, but about how quiet are the meadows and the strange beautiful birds that you've begun to name, the hush at the nightfall when a calmness seems to slip about thisworld. And something is finally right, you will cry, holding both of your lovers, your friends, your family, and listen to the footfall that you are certain will come.
⠀ ⠀⠀And in the morning, in his off-centre voice, Satoru sings awkwardly, so happily, making Nanami want to kick him so hard he's gonna come back to the world, for a moment to remember where you once were, some place of green and blue, some old.
⠀ ⠀⠀And this time it wasn't just you now.

Megumi has never been the best at close combat fighting. Hence he found himself grumbling to himself when Gojo announced that today's training would specifically be on close combat.
The agitated ravenet stood with his arms crossed with a glare plastered on his face. He was making sure Gojo could see it with all 6 of his eyes. If looks could kill, this would be a mass murder.
"Since we are doing close combat today, here's how it will go," Gojo began.
"You all will be defending against one of Principle Yaga's cursed corpses. If you can last for 5 minutes, you pass. If you don't, you fail, easy as that." He said with a stupid-looking smile.
Small nods and hums of acknowledgment were all that Gojo got back as a response. He sighed defeatedly before clapping his hands dramatically above his head.
"Now, you all will be fighting different cursed corpses based on your current fighting and defending skills," Gojo began explaining once again.
-
As you stood between Nobara and Megumi, your gaze slowly shifted to Megumi. Gojo's words began to all blur together. You already knew the rules and how this worked. But you couldn't help but admire Megumi, he stood with his arms crossed, looking very unamused. You couldn't help but chuckle to yourself when you saw his little pout.
Your eyes then traveled to his spikey raven-black hair. Then to his beautiful blue eyes. Now finally, his pretty pink lips. He was gorgeous.
-
"Y/n," Your paintbrush for a teacher called. You snapped back to reality and quickly replied with, "Yea?" You could tell he was eyeing you through his mask. A small smirk appeared on his lips as he began to speak again. "Y/n, you need to start paying attention. Looking at your boyfriend isn't going to explain the instructions to you." You blinked in shock as your mouth fell agape at what your teacher just said.
Yuuji and Nobara -- the little demons they were-- failed to hold in an obnoxiously loud laugh, and you sent them both a glare as they laughed uncontrollably. Megumi looked away from all the chaos trying to hide his blush, but also a small smile that began to take form on his lips.
Eventually, you decided to cover your face and nod to spare yourself any more embarrassment. Gojo sneered at you, he was overly proud of what he said, and you knew it.
Once Nobara and Yuuji calmed down to the point it was only little giggles every once in a while, he soon began the instructions again, "Now, go find a spot on the field and begin when I say," Gojo said as he walked off towards the bleachers.
You all began walking towards the field. Yuuji and Nobara made jokes about the way Gojo had embarrassed you, while you stayed quiet beside Megumi.
"Did you see her face when he said that?!" Yuuji giggled as he tried to impersonate the face that you made.
Nobara was cackling at the sight, clutching her stomach at how hard she was laughing. You watched them make fun of you with an unamused look on your face. Three not-to-be-named people are going to die tonight. That's for sure.
An exasperated sigh left your lips. You were beginning to plot the murderers you were about to commit. All three would suddenly go missing, and when their bodies are found, their faces will be sma-
-
"So..." Megumi said trying to break the silence.
Your eyes landed on Megumi after he broke you out of your thoughts. And like magic, all thoughts of murder left your mind.. for now. But, as far as you were concerned, Megumi's presence was all you wanted and needed right now.
"'m sorry if I embarrassed you, Gumi.." You finally decided to utter out.
You were glad that Yuuji and Nobara were too busy cackling about how embarrassed you were for once. If they heard this, you both would never hear the end of this.
Megumi could feel his face begin to heat up remembering the previous moment. He thought it was admirable that you were even bothering to look at him. To Megumi, he wasn't much of a sight to be compared to you. The fact that you were even with him, as his partner, still manages to boggle his mind. That is why he found himself smiling at his idiotic teacher's words.
"You didn't embarrass me.." Megumi mumbled quietly.
It went quiet again after his words finally registered in your head. You smiled to yourself already beginning to feel a bit less embarrassed about it.
You let out a small sigh of relief. The rest of the walk to the field was spent in comfortable silence as the leaves crunched under your feet with each step.
Soon enough, you and Megumi had made it to the field where Yuuji and Nobara stood waiting for Gojo to come back. You both joined them there.
Nobara and Yuuji were arguing about something as per usual, and you and Megumi just listened to the chaos. That was until you heard a dreadful screech. You all covered your ears and looked in the direction of the noise, and it was none other than your teacher with a megaphone.
"Alright now that I have your attention-" Gojo started, as if he was trying to play off the terrible noise the contraption just made.
"Who wants to go first?" Gojo stated. He stood awfully calm beside the cursed corpses you all would potentially be fighting against.
Silence wafted through the whole campus. All you could hear was the wind blowing through the trees and if you listened close enough, you could even hear crickets chirping. As the wind continued to blow, Yuuji eventually sneezed, ending the silence.
"Yuuji! Thanks for volunteering! You're going to be fighting this one with the blue gloves. Remember, n-" The megaphone began to squeak as Gojo was about to say something else and the high-pitched sound made you wince and cover your ears.
Bang
Bang
Bang
"Come. On. You. Piece. Of. Shi- Oh, there we go!" Gojo smiled triumphantly as he smacked the megaphone on the bleachers between words.
"As I was saying, no cursed technique. Now, are you ready Yuuji?" Gojo continued.
"No- wait I dont wan-" Yuuji began.
"3"
"Wait Gojo, I don-"
"2"
"Wait-"
"1"
"Begin!" Gojo shouted into the megaphone, before messing with the extra noises and playing a siren noise.
The cursed corpse with the blue gloves charged at Yuuji. It ended up punching him straight in the jaw before Yuuji even registered it was starting. You all winced in sympathy for the boy. That's gonna hurt in the morning...
Yuuji soon recovered and began blocking the cursed corpse attacks, and was slowly able to dish out some of his own punches. This went on for a while until Yuuji managed to grab the cursed corpse and hold it down, causing Gojo to end his time early since he basically stopped it.
Next, he called Megumi, and you could tell from the face Megumi made, he was not happy. With an eye-roll Megumi stepped forward and got into a fighting stance while Gojo smiled at him mischievously.
"Alright, 5 minutes, ready.. set, go!" Gojo yelled into the megaphone while activating the same siren noise on the contraption.
The cursed corpse charged at Megumi, and at first, he did well. He managed to block and stop a decent amount of the attacks from the cursed corpse, landing some of his own hits too.
But, after three-ish minutes, you could tell Megumi was getting more tired, and the cursed corpse started landing more hits. Once the time was up, Gojo got the cursed corpse to stop and Megumi walked back over to you with a huff. He had a bit of a bloody nose, a busted lip, and what would probably be a black eye in the morning.
He sighed quietly and wiped his nose on his uniform before giving Gojo a look.
"I'm going to clean up," He stated, not caring if he technically had to ask, he was going.
Gojo gave him a look before chuckling as he watched Megumi grab your hand and practically dragged you to the school with him. You give Gojo a confused shrug before catching up with Megumi and walking beside him.
"Alright, I'll give you all a 15 minute break, better not go make out during that time you two!" Gojo called after you both.
Megumi grumbled under his breath at Gojo's words before his gaze shifted to you and his gaze almost seemed to soften a bit. He pushed open the doors of the school leading you to the boys bathroom, and locking it behind the both of you.
"God he's so annoying," He muttered while letting go of your hand and then looking around the bathroom for some bandages that were usually left in there.
"Gotta say I have to agree-" You add while placing your hands on his shoulder and moving him to lean against the counter of the sink.
Finding the bandages and getting a tissue, you set the now open med kit beside him and begin to gently wipe away the blood from his nose.
"That cursed corpse got you good, Megs," you comment while tossing the dirty tissue into the trash, and then focusing on the cut on his lip.
"Shut up," Megumi muttered in mock annoyance, giving you a fake glare while swatting your hand away from his face.
"God, you're almost as annoying as him," He adds, trying his hardest not to smile from his words, because really, he didn't mean it.
"Am I now?" You muse while grabbing his hand with one hand and then placing your other hand on his chin, tilting his head down to look at you. "I'd have to say I disagree with you," You add with a mischievous smile.
"I will beat you with a stick- I swear to God," he utters out while swatting your hands away again and leaning away from you.
His eyes linger on your figure while you laughed at his reaction. Yet, he couldn't help but smile and let out a small chuckle. He then wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him while he carefully brushed some hair behind your ear.
Your eyes lingered on his, your lips parting slightly as he held you close. And he almost laughed at how quickly his actions managed to shut you up. He then smiled at you for a moment and placed a soft kiss to your forehead, while his other hand moved to cradle your jaw.
His thumb brushed against your cheek carefully before he leaned back a little to look into your eyes. He chuckled at how you almost seemed to melt into his touch.
"You gonna keep your mouth shut, now?" He quipped while caressing your jaw with his thumb.
It almost took you a moment to snap out of your thoughts, but you soon smiled happily and wrapped your arms around him. "No, wait- now give me a proper kiss," You whine while looking at him with puppy eyes.
"Nah, that can wait," Megumi mused with a smirk. He then completely pulled away from you and made his way to the exit.
"You comin'? It's your turn to get attacked by the cursed corpse," Megumi added while placing his hands in his pockets and walking out of the bathroom, leaving you there wanting more.
God, was he annoying.

rizzless sukuna pt 3
FINALLY!! i've finished it. it's much longer than i planned but what're you gonna do?? lmao happy late late valentines day everyone! have a sukufushi date
@nessieartss you wanted me to tag you so here i am tagging you!
part 1 | part 2
---
Sukuna hasn't been able to stop thinking about his date.
Yes, it's only been about two hours since he and Megumi have set up their date, but that doesn't mean that Sukuna can't be excited. He's never had a date before (if that wasn’t obvious by the way he totally fucked up his pickup line). It’s a mystery why Megumi had even agreed.
After the initial excitement had worn off, Sukuna found himself wondering if Megumi only said yes out of pity, even if he had been amused by Sukuna's fuck-up.
But as soon as the thoughts came, he pushed them away because since when does Sukuna think about the consequences of his actions? He should be thinking about what the hell they're gonna do for this date.
Sukuna had half the mind to ask Maki what they should do, whether she had any suggestions about what Megumi might like, but then he remembered the “advice” she'd given him earlier and a scowl came to his face. Even if it had worked, he refused to send her a text.
“Hey, Sukuna!”
The older boy looks up at the sound of his name, seeing Yuuji making his way over with a grin on his face. He doesn't allow Sukuna to speak before he nudges his brother with an elbow. “We should go to that new Boba place! Gojo told me that the Mango flavor is amazing—”
“No—”
“What do you mean ‘no’?” Yuuji pulls away, looking affronted. “You don't wanna spend time with your favorite brother?” He gives Sukuna his best puppy eyes, sticking out his bottom lip for added effect.
Sukuna rolls his eyes and pushes Yuuji's face away from him. “Well if you'd let me finish my damn sentence,” he grunts. “Not today, I have plans.”
Yuuji snorts. “Plans? Doing what? Throwing rocks at police cars?”
“None of your business,” the older boy replies with a sniff, keeping his face impassive. Yuuji opens his mouth but Sukuna already knows what he's going to ask. “And no you cannot come with.”
“What? Why not?” He pouts once again.
“Because.” That's all Sukuna says. He pulls out his phone and checks his messages. His heart does a stupid little flip when he sees Megumi's name on a notification, letting Sukuna know that he's reached the spot where they're supposed to meet up. Sukuna responds to let him know that he's on his way.
Putting his phone back into his pocket, he reaches out and ruffles Yuuji's hair, earning an annoyed grunt from his brother. “See ya later.”
Sukuna turns on his heel and heads in the direction of where Megumi is waiting, missing the intrigued look on his brother's face.
The closer he gets, the faster his heart starts to beat and Sukuna runs a hand through his hair. Briefly, he stops himself before he rounds the corner just dust himself off and shake out his hands as if it might get rid of the anxiety that he’s feeling. Once again, he pushes his hair back and takes a deep breath.
Rounding the corner, the corner of his mouth lifts up when he sees Megumi waiting patiently, scrolling through his phone. He looks up at the sound of footsteps and he immediately pockets his phone when he sees that it’s Sukuna. A small smile comes to his face.
“Hey,” Sukuna greets.
Megumi replies with a “hey” of his own.
Silence stretches out between them and if it were anyone else, Sukuna would be inclined to laugh at just how fucking awkward it is. He really didn’t think this through.
Megumi doesn’t seem to mind however and asks, “So, where are we going?”
“How about that new Boba place?” Sukuna suggests.
“Sure. Better to go with you than be dragged along by Gojo. He was late to class this morning because he was getting a drink there.” Megumi shakes his head and Sukuna huffs.
The two of them turn to begin walking in the direction of the Boba shop which Sukuna realizes that he has no idea where it is. Hopefully Megumi knows where they’re going. The older boy would hate to make himself look like an even bigger fool by getting them lost.
As they walk, the two of them make small talk and Sukuna finds it easier to keep up a conversation with Megumi than anyone that isn’t Yuuji; he feels his anxiety melting away by the minute. There’s still something nagging at him in the back of his mind that Megumi is only humoring him, but Sukuna ignores it, as he does with most of his internal turmoils.
When they arrive at the shop, Megumi and Sukuna reach for the door handle simultaneously, their fingers brushing. Both pull away instantly, eyes wide as they meet each other's gaze. There's a pink blush dusting over Megumi’s cheekbones and Sukuna's brain short circuits at how cute he looks. The thought alone makes Sukuna's ears burn and he clears his throat, forcing himself to look away.
They both hesitate only to reach for the door at the same time, again, both retracting their hands before they can touch again. This time, Sukuna does chuckle at how ridiculous they're being, trying his best to ignore how fucking adorable Megumi is with his cheeks red (and ignore how his fingers are still tingling after he and Megumi barely touched). He grabs the door handle to yank it open much harder than necessary.
He gestures for Megumi to enter first and Megumi nods, stepping around Sukuna quickly to enter the shop. Sukuna shakes his head at himself, pressing his hand to his chest, willing his heart to slow the fuck down. He's on a date, not running a fucking marathon!
Stepping up next to Megumi, Sukuna looks over the menu, briefly considers asking Yuuji to recommend a flavor, but immediately brushes that thought aside. He would not hear the end of it considering he just turned his brother down to come here. Now Sukuna is on a date with his little brother's best friend at the shop that Yuuji wanted to come to.
Megumi and Sukuna step up to the counter, and as Megumi gives the person at the register his drink order, Sukuna is already pulling out his wallet and card before the other boy can even think about paying. The second the barista gives the total, Sukuna is tapping his card on the terminal screen. When he glances over, Megumi looks unimpressed.
“Hey, I asked you out first,” Sukuna points out as they find a table to wait at. “It's common courtesy that I pay.”
“Then I suppose I'll have to pay for next time,” Megumi hums, a smirk playing on his lips.
Sukuna feels his heart flutter in his chest and he internally scowls at himself for such a stupid reaction; what is he? Some little school girl?
Grow up, Sukuna, he scoffs at himself mentally.
He hates that the idea of a second date gets him so excited.
“Bold of you to assume you'd wanna go out with me again,” Sukuna responds with a quirk of his lips.
Megumi arches an eyebrow, leaning forward. He rests his arms on the table. “Why wouldn't I?”
Sukuna drums his fingers on the table, holding Megumi’s gaze. “Well for starters, I'm an asshole.”
“Yeah,” Megumi nods.
“I'm also Yuuji's older brother.”
Again, Megumi nods. “Correct.”
“Gojo doesn't like me. Or rather, I don't like him.”
Megumi snorts. “Gojo enjoys having you at the school. He just thinks you're fun to tease.”
Sukuna pauses momentarily. “He's a terrible influence on Yuuji,” he grumbles.
This time, Megumi laughs, tucking his face into the collar of his school uniform. The sound makes Sukuna's chest grow warm and he wants to hear that sound again. Who knew such a pretty sounding laugh could come from Megumi Fushiguro?
“That is very true,” Megumi sighs once he's finished laughing.
Sukuna gets to his feet when their names are called for their drinks, and he’s thankful for the out to give himself a moment to take in a deep breath, to regulate himself before going back to the table. He slides Megumi’s drink across the table and watches as the younger boy easily stabs his straw through the top of his drink and takes a sip. For a second, Sukuna is so transfixed on watching Megumi’s Adam’s apple bob that he doesn’t register the fact that he’s being spoken to.
“Huh?”
Megumi huffs in amusement. “I was asking why you asked me on a date.”
“Oh,” Sukuna breathes. He blinks and rubs the back of his neck. With his free hand, he takes his straw and stabs it into his own drink so that he can take a sip, stalling for more time to try and give an answer that wouldn’t sound stupid. “I don’t know.”
Perfect. Great answer you fucking loser, Sukuna  tells himself.
“I, uh, well—” He stutters over his words, making himself look like an even bigger fool. The biggest fool in the Goddamn world. He’s reminding himself of Yuuji at this exact moment. “I’ve been thinking about it and, uh, ah fuck.” Finally he gives up and leans back in his chair, rubbing his hands over his face.
“I just wanted to and Maki told me to just do it,” Sukuna says, his words muffled by his palms. By now, the tips of his ears are red and he’s sure that his face is the same. Dropping his hands, he continues staring at the ceiling before looking back at his date.
An amused smirk spreads over Megumi’s mouth and he snorts. “You asked Maki for advice?”
Sukuna takes a sip from his drink as his other hand runs through his hair (he needs to break this habit sooner than later). He scowls, more at himself than at Megumi as he says, “Listen, it’s not my proudest moment, but I’ve never done this before—”
“What?” Megumi gasps dramatically (or as dramatically as Megumi can be), interrupting Sukuna. “Date Man has never had a date before?”
“No,” Sukuna grunts, “and why do you keep calling me Date Man?”
Megumi simply shrugs in response.
“If I'm Date man, that means you’re Raisin Boy,” the older boy decides with a firm nod. This earns an amused snort from Megumi who doesn't disagree.
They go back to sitting in silence again, sipping their drinks. Thankfully, the other boy speaks up first.
“Are you as big of a movie buff as your brother?” Megumi asks.
Sukuna looks up. “Only by association,” he replies. “If he's not watching with his Junpei friend then he's forcing me to watch them.” A pause to take a sip of his drink. “Though, I do love a good horror movie; it's my favorite genre.”
Perking up in his seat, Megumi leans forward a little. “What's your favorite horror movie?”
“'The Exorcist'. A classic.” Sukuna kisses his fingers. When his eyes land on Megumi again, the other boy has a look on his face that says he doesn't agree. Arching an eyebrow, Sukuna asks, “What?”
Megumi gives a lame, one-shouldered shrug. “It's alright.”
Sukuna gapes at him, jaw dropping slightly and he blinks, shaking his head. “Alright? What do you mean ‘it's alright’?”
“It's alright,” Megumi repeats while he mixes his drink. “I'll agree with you that it's a classic.”
There's a pause and Sukuna waits for him to continue, but he doesn't. Sukuna gestures for Megumi to continue.
“I just think 'The Conjuring' is better.”
A loud laugh escapes from Sukuna's mouth and he claps a hand over his mouth. He clears his throat, glancing around to see if anyone noticed. Turning back to his date, he folds his arms and rests them on the table.
“You're just saying that,” Sukuna decides, eyeing Megumi over. “There's no way you think 'The Conjuring' is better.”
Megumi almost looks offended. “It is better. I prefer the first movie out of all of them, but I'm not too picky. Not to mention they're based on true stories and I'm a fan of nonfiction.”
“'The Exorcist' is based off of a true story,” Sukuna points out.
“Very loosely,” Megumi retorts. “Don't get me wrong, the actress who played the little girl—”
“Linda Blair—”
“—did a fantastic job, as did the actress who played her mother—”
“Ellen Burstyn,” Sukuna supplies helpfully.
Megumi smirks at him. “Not a big movie buff, huh?” he teases.
All Sukuna can do is shrug. “It's my favorite horror movie. I've done my research, alright?”
Shaking his head, the other continues, “but with that being said, I think the plot of 'The Conjuring' is better. It's more suspenseful. Keeps you on your toes. Nothing terribly exciting happens in 'The Exorcist' until the last 20 minutes of the movie or so.” Seeing unimpressed look on Sukuna's face, Megumi asks, “When is the last time you saw 'The Conjuring'?”
Sukuna thinks for a moment.
When is the last time he's seen that movie? Yuuji isn't much of a horror fan, and recently, Sukuna has been busy dealing with his stupid feelings and training that he had really watched any movies.
“It's been a minute,” he finally says.
The corner of Megumi’s mouth twitches up. “Maybe we should get together again and watch them back to back, you know, to see which one truly is better.”
The suggestion throws Sukuna through a loop and his brain stops thinking for a second. His heart skips a beat in his chest, his stomach twisting into knots and he wants to punch the table for getting so giddy. He can't stop the smile that comes to his face.
“It's a date… Raisin Boy.”

Summary: You finally tell your son and his friends about Satoru and Toji’s shared “history”.
Tumblr media
It had only been a week since Megumi got cooked by his dad during their little practice sparring session, which ended with you breaking it up and reprimanding Toji for almost critically injuring his son. That is not what’s bothering Megumi, however. Well, okay, he left a little salty with a bruised pride from barely holding his own against his dad. But that’s beside the point.
What’s bothering him is what you said to him at the end of your conversations. After learning Toji was just playing with Megumi, not even using a fraction of his actual strength, Megumi asks you how truly powerful his dad is. Your only answer was, “Ask your teacher, Megumi.” You then left the school grounds without another word. What did you mean by that? Megumi had never seen his pompous teacher like this before. Satoru’s endless sweat bullets and fidgety hands looked out of character for him. He tried asking him the next day, but Satoru didn’t acknowledge the question and completely ignored it. However, Megumi noted Gojo’s increased stuttering and rapidly fluctuating curse energy. He didn’t have any luck with Geto-sensei either. Geto would give some sort of cryptic answer to Megumi’s question with a lopsided grin, but even reading between the lines was a pain for Megumi himself.
Though, Megumi couldn’t blame his teachers for avoiding his question. He is well aware that his family is not average, even by Jujutsu standards. His father, Toji, was seen as the black sheep of the entire Jujutsu society, a useless human with no trace of curse energy. But the whispers and hushed voices he heard were a different story. His notorious epithet of “Sorcerer killer” wasn’t something every sorcerer took lightly. From the reactions he’d seen about the talks of his dad, something wasn’t adding up. The disconcert and uneasiness radiated from his two special grade teachers at the mention of his father, not to mention many others having a sober expression when speaking about him. It was like an entire act missing from a volume, and Megumi needed to figure out why.
Since he couldn’t get it out of his teachers, he’ll go for the primary source itself, you. Yet, he was swamped with school and back-to-back missions every chance he had. So, he had no time to bring it up in the first place. It was gnawing at him for days, and he wasn’t the only one. Yuuji and Nobara were also curious about your vague statement and wanted answers. Seemingly more determined than Megumi himself. But it isn’t their fault since your vague answer sparked more questions than answers. Plus, on top of not knowing much about you either.
You were an enigma to the two students. They have seen you around campus but will be out of sight the next, leaving no trace other than your curse residuals behind. Yuuji and Nobara met you briefly a couple of times after the exchange event, only for Megumi to drag them away to leave you to your own devices. It also didn’t help them that Megumi was pretty reserved about personal details, especially ones involving family. Their only leads on you came from the mouths of other sorcerers and the school staff members. Their teacher, known to be a mortal deity, speaks highly of you with a pinch of fondness, which is strange since he never says that of anyone in such a manner. Not even to their other teacher, Suguru Geto, his best friend.
After constantly pestering and begging Megumi to tell more about his ethereal and alluring mother, Megumi decides it is now an excellent time to converse with you. For him, it’s killing two birds with one stone. His friends will finally stop bugging him about you, and he’ll get his answers. It was Thursday; the first years were preparing for a night mission. Gojo had told Megumi that you were coming to discuss recent curse activities and sorcerers' reports for the mouth. The students didn’t have to leave until 3:00pm, so he had time to spare. After their routine classes and training, Megumi begins seeking you out along with Yuuji and Nobara. With plenty of time before dispatching their mission, they searched the whole campus for you.
While walking through a corridor from one of the student lounges, the students hear voices from one of the nearby private rooms. Before Megumi could think, Divine Dog: Totality summoned itself and dragged Megumi to where the voices came from. Megumi didn’t know his shadows to summon themselves without his command. However, this has happened a few times, such as when you’re nearby, and they picked up your curse residuals. So, remembering that his shikigamis know your essence, he lets Totality pull him along with Yuuji and Nobara. He was proven right when your voice on the other side of the shogi door was from the other side. Totality wags its tail, pushing its master’s hand to open it before disappearing into the corridor’s shadows. Before he knocked, he could hear the different voices as well. There was Gojo-Sensei, Geto-Sensei, and— is that his dad’s voice too?
‘What the hell? Why is Dad here of all places?’ Megumi thought with his brows furrowing. He knows about the rule that Toji must always be with you on Jujutsu High grounds. He only comes to the school when he wants to tag along or you ask him to. It’s mainly the latter. Megumi snapped out of his thoughts when Nobara and Yuuji shook his shoulders to knock. He takes a deep breath before lightly tapping his knuckles on the door. There was a brief silence before your voice called out to them.
“Who is it?”
“It’s Megumi, Mom. I also brought Yuuji and Nobara, too.”
Upon hearing your son, you allowed them to come in. As the students came in, they spotted you in the room's layout. The light from the afternoon sun made the mahogany coffee table shine. Three black lounge sofas spaced to face each other, two on the opposite ends of the table while the other met the head. You sat on the head sofa with your legs crossed; Toji was on your left while Satoru and Suguru sat on the other two sofas. Satoru joins Suguru's side to make room for the kiddos to sit. You eye your son curiously, seeing his fidgeting fingers stick out his straight posture.
“What brings you three here? Something on your mind, Megumi?” You say tenderly, a soft affection for your son to feel comfortable.
“Yeah, Mom. . . It’s about–”
“Fushiguro-kun wants to know about your question from last week, (L/N)-Sensei!”
“Yeah, Fushiguro-sensei! Fushiguro has been moppy all week because of it. Would you so kindly answer his question, Fushiguro-Sensei?”
You paused from sipping your (favorite drink), looking at the trio with scrunched brows and a slight frown. Megumi reprimanded the two for speaking on his behalf before he returned to facing you, his fists unusually clenched in his lap.
“ Megumi, I’m sorry for giving you anxious thoughts and restless nights. I didn’t mean to do anything to hurt you; you know that, right? My son, what is it that you want to ask me? You said, reassuring your brooding son. You glanced at Toji, his face unchanging, but his eyes shared the same feeling. Your husband shrugged his shoulders at you, indicating he had no idea what was happening with Megumi. You direct your attention back to your son, hoping he will confide in you like always. Your son takes another deep breath to calm his nerves before speaking again.
“Last week, after Dad beat me, you said that he wasn’t even trying. So when I asked you how strong, you said ask Gojo-Sensei, and that was it. Unfortunately, Gojo-Sensei and Geto-Sensei didn’t answer me, so I wanted to ask you.”
You looked over at the two teachers who were once your students. Suguru shrugged with his hands out while Satoru whistled away with his hands behind his back, relaxing in his seat. You shook your head. You look back at your son with a soft smile.
“I see, so you had to come to the primary source. Well, don’t blame your teachers, Megumi. After all, this is a hard topic for them to discuss.”
The trio looked at each other, confused but curious in your answer. But Megumi was more confused since he had known the two teachers all his life.
“Mom, what are you implying?”
The air shifted, and tension settled in, though Nobara and Yuuji couldn’t feel it. Megumi knew what he was asking was going into a rough part of his parents' lives. Megumi may not be the brightest, but he’s far from dumb. He knows this is serious with what he knows about his father and how vague everyone has been. You were about to speak up if it weren’t for Satoru stepping in to give an answer to the young Fushiguro, albeit failing miserably as he was beating around the bush.
“Megumi-kun, how do I explain this. . . Toji-san, your father, he, erm, he actually–”
“Your father defeated Gojo-kun, Megumi.” You blatantly said, interrupting Satoru to save himself the embarrassment.
There were various reactions to your answer. Though Satoru was wearing his blindfold, you could sense his eyes widened as he refrained from talking further. Suguru and Toji choked on their own air. Yuuji and Nobara had surprised looks, mouths slightly open. But out of everyone, Megumi had the most emotional reaction. His fists clenched even harder, and his face etched in absolute flabbergast. He was completely floored by your answer. What intensified this reaction was the profound aura you gave off. Your posture was not stiff but firm, showing no sign of slack throughout your body. You set your cup down while uncrossing your legs so the heels of your shoes are flat on the ground. Megumi knew you were telling the truth. He could feel his blood start to rush throughout his body like his chest had been squeezed and forced the air out of his lungs.
“M-mom. . . In what way? And how?”
Though your eyes were severe, your soft smile never left your lips.
“I will try to explain everything to you, but there are many details that I have to give you a shortened version. I’m also speaking on behalf of your father. At the time, I was a part-time sorcerer with a full-time job in the real world. I only knew your father did freelance work with another person. I knew your father hunted curses for a check but not hits on someone. I also became a teacher at Jujutsu Tech so we could get by because my full-time job was cutting hours. Your father’s work paid well but wasn’t consistent, so we had some financial troubles. This caused your father to disappear for months at a time, leaving me to raise you and your sister alone.”
Mentioning the last part, Toji shifted in his seat to be more comfortable. It was futile because it was his attempt to respond to being reminded of one of his biggest regrets in life. Toji knew he had every right to feel shameful for his past actions. Still, it doesn’t change the fact he still gets hurt by them after 12 years. You gently reached out to place your hand on your husband’s as it was on your shoulder. Sensing his discomfort, you tried to soothe his thoughts with the gesture. He deflates slightly as your soft action gives ease, leaning his head to lay on your other shoulder. Your eyes never left Megumi’s as you resumed comforting his dad.
“The day after your Father’s disappearance, I got a significant assignment where I had to oversee and act as one of two guardians for a mission. The same one your teachers were assigned at the request of Tengan, Jujutsu society’s barrier guardian. Initially, they wanted to just have Satoru-kun and Suguru-kun do it. However, the nature of the mission needed some, let’s say, more cautious individuals, and that’s where Maho and I, a fellow sorcerer, were brought in.”
“Okay, but (L/N)-dono, we were careful and diligent if you or Maho-san didn’t come with us! Suguru and I would’ve handled it just fine!”
You raised a single eyebrow at the blindfolded fool, giving him an intense side-eye.
“Given your track record of forgetting to dematerialize veils and scooping out the perimeter beforehand, I could beg to differ. Plus, with how you were back then, your lack of self-awareness would’ve got you, AND Suguru, into situations that would have been completely avoidable.”
Everyone snickered at your comment, causing Satoru’s cheeks to be dusted over with a rosy color. Suguru even laughed at his expense when he should be backing up his best friend. Satoru whined at Suguru, and the two started to bicker with each other. You paid no mind to it as you used to it over the years.
“So what was the mission, Mom?” Megumi inquire
“Every couple of years or so, Tengen needs to merge with their chosen vessel called the star plasma vessel. The merging allows Tengen to not evolve past their humanity, maintaining a humanoid form. At the time, their chosen vessel was a girl named Riko Amanai. The mission was for Satoru and Suguru to escort her to Tengen to complete the merging. However, I was mainly assigned because a high-paying bounty was placed on Riko, so I had to help.”
“Do you know who placed it, Mom?” Megumi said, a little agitated at the person who made your mission a living hell.
Satoru and Suguru stared intently at you, wondering what you would say next. You glanced at the two and then your husband before inhaling to give you some air from the already tense room.
“The person… that placed the bounty on her, Megumi, was… was your father.”
At the mention of Toji, Megumi's face went from rage to repulsion in a matter of seconds. He looked at his father with absolute detest as Toji had regret written all over himself. Yuuji and Nobara felt like they were watching a soap opera. This is the most they have seen Megumi this reactive. They saw him as someone who kept his emotions in check, never letting too much spill out. However, seeing this version of him was unexpected but made them sympathetic since his life is more intertwined in the Jujutsu world than theirs.
“A cult member from a group that worshipped Tengen disagreed. He contacted Toji and Shui Kong, his freelance partner, to capture Riko. Dead or Alive. So Toji decided to place a bounty so others could wear us down. He didn’t, however, know I was on that mission. Nor was I even aware he was the one who placed the bounty.”
Each word you spoke carried a heaviness as you recalled the mission's events. You tried to include crucial details, having Satoru and Suguru talk occasionally. To know that it takes one mission to change everything was unbelievable. The first years, though shocked, were locked into the story. Many mixed emotions stirred within them as you retell the fable mission. Even though this happened long ago, speaking about this constantly reminded you of life’s unpredictability. It can be fulfilling, then cruel and unfair the next. As you continue, a heavy weight you haven’t felt in years creeps up as you nears the mission's climax. Getting to the fable fights that rocked the Jujutsu world forever.
The more you speak, the heavier the invisible weight becomes. The feeling of suffocation closing in. At the moment, you didn’t know why you were feeling this. But later on, you come to realize it came from the burden of having to tell your son the atrocities his own father committed, not just against the Jujutsu world, but against you as well. For as long as you can remember, you knew Megumi wasn’t always getting along with his dad. He was a mama’s boy through and through, a brother who always looked out for his older sister.
When it came to his dad, however, it was a mixed bag. Megumi does love his dad, but he doesn’t necessarily hate him. Even when Toji returned, he wasn’t forgiving of his presence like Tsumiki or open-minded like you. He was expecting his dad to vanish like before. Your heart aches to know your own son had that level of self-consciousness from a young age, meaning he and his sister were forced to grow up, all while you tried to raise them by yourself. It was clear that after 12 years, Megumi hadn’t entirely accepted his father.
Now came for you to reveal what his father had done to be so infamous. So you laid it out for them. Telling how Toji temporarily killed Gojo, fought and won against Suguru and Maho, and captured Riko. This happened when you only talked to Tengen for a few minutes, coming out of the chamber to see the chaos. Your eyes never left Megumi, watching to see how he was handling it. Oddly enough, he had an unreadable expression, but you know the rage that burned in his eyes. You can tell he was holding himself together. But if no people were around, he would have snapped at his father and lost all the patience he had accumulated over the years.
This obviously didn’t go unnoticed by the other adults in the room. Satoru and Suguru briefly observed Megumi, empathetic at his mother’s revelations. Unsurprising to them to see Megumi like this. After all, they were a part of the majority of his life, essentially seeing the boy grow up. The two knew he never wore his heart on his sleeve. The flurries of mixed emotions brewed in him like a storm. But his restraint was stronger, letting his eyes speak for themselves. Emphasizing their awareness of how much Megumi loves and respects you, he does not dare lash out because he knows it wasn’t your fault.
Toji had difficulty sparing Megumi a glance, the shame never leaving his body. The years of fatherhood have softened his hard exterior, not always bearing the cocky smirk he wore his single years. Like father like son, Toji had a blank expression, but his eyes held warmth and softness unlike any other to the blessing in his life, his son. He doesn’t blame Megumi if he gives him a spiteful look. If not for his filter, Megumi would denounce and never acknowledge Toji as his father. No matter the reassurance from you or Tsumiki, it can’t convince you to think otherwise. And he was okay with that reality.
Satoru made a backhanded remark at Toji in between your storytelling, which made Toji glare harshly at him. Suguru chided Satoru for his comment, which prompted Toji to throw one back with a smirk etched on his lips to highlight his scar. Megumi didn’t care to put up with his teacher and dad’s squabble. He was focusing on the memories you recited. He’ll leave the worrying to his classmates, who became a little on edge to see if a full-blown argument would break out. You, however, will not let any of it, considering the weight of your burden is already frustrating as it is.
“Satoru, Toji, please! Now’s not the time, and I’m not in the mood to deal with you two, so behave yourselves! Drop the pompous attitude, Satoru and Toji; this wouldn’t have happened if you weren’t hung on beef with a couple of teenagers. Also, stop manspreading and sit up properly! That’s why you both have back pain from your ugly posture! Tsks,” You firmly command, staring them down individually.
The two immediately dropped their act, listening to your demand like soldiers getting reprimanded by their commander. Your tone made it to Suguru and the students because they subconsciously sat up in their seats. You sigh to try and ease the pressure of your burden caused. Surprisingly, it did help only a little as you finished the story. Speaking of Satoru’s enlightenment and newly awakened power, the dissolving of the cult group, and the eventual aftermath.
“In the end, your teachers defeated Toji. And before you ask, Riko Amanai and Kuroi survived. I rescued her and got her back on Jujutsu High grounds. The two actually live on Jujutsu Tech grounds but don’t leave the barrier often due to their safety, unfortunately.”
“So what happened to Dad afterward?” Megumi finally spoke up after sitting on the sidelines so his classmates could answer the asking.
“Your father was imprisoned, waiting for his execution. However, I pulled some strings and made a deal with the higher-ups in exchange for your father’s life. Satoru-kun did me a huge favor and came in clutch when talking to the higher-ups. In the end, your father’s execution was halted on the conditions he and I would have to abide by. The rest was history.”
You haven’t thought much about it, but this story-telling was just a conversation between you and Megumi. You forgot Yuuji and Nobara were there listening in, too. This dawned on you when they kept looking back at each other and Megumi. As much as you wanted to continue your over-sharing experience, this was a good place to stop, considering your son might not be mentally ready for the others. ‘That’s for another time.’
Before anyone could speak up, particularly Megumi, the door to the room slid open, revealing Maho, Akari, Nanako, and Mimiko. Maho glances around the room curiously before coughing into her hand.
“I’m sorry to break up your little conversation, y’all. But the first years need to get going on their night mission. Akari is here to take you three to the location now. Also, Suguru, the girls want to check out a new pop-up dessert stand while on patrol in the Taito ward.”
Suguru chuckles, standing up and straightening out his uniform. He bid you and Satoru bye while sending good luck the first years' way. Nanako started to whine that they’d be late queuing Suguru to get going. Once Suguru leaves, the first years begin to leave the room. You got up to stretch when you noticed Megumi stopping at the doorway. You start to regret telling Megumi all this because this may not allow him to focus on the mission. Putting his friends and the mission in danger.
Just as you were about to call for him, he hastily walked over and gave you a tight hug. Startled at first, you eventually returned with the same intensity. Even though Megumi was 15 years old, a young, proper man, you can’t help but see your little baby boy who always called out Mama. You softly pat his head and kiss his forehead before your son pulls away. Megumi looks at you with a soft smile he has always given since he was a young boy.
“I’ll be safe, Mom. Don’t worry,  I’ll come back home in one piece.” Megumi reassured you.
“ Sweet, soft hum I know you will. Just promise me you, Yuuji, and Nobara will try to be careful.”
“Of course, Mom. We will.”
Toji grins at Megumi and nods when his son locks his eyes with him. You look over at the other two standing behind Megumi. They replied to you with a ‘Yes, Ma’am!’ in a saluting position. You laughed at their antics before shoeing them off to Akari for their mission. As their footsteps grew quiet, you relaxed your shoulders briefly before squaring them back up. You haven’t forgotten that Satoru was still in the room with you and Toji. He was still sitting, his signature grin gone and replaced with a firm line on his lips. You know he was peering up at you through his blindfold while Toji causally threw an arm around your shoulder.
“(L/N)-dono, did you purposely leave out the conditions of your deal with the higher-ups to Megumi-kun?”
“. . .Yes. My son has every right to know about what happened. But simultaneously, this is a matter to be shared with him alone, not when his other classmates are present. The aftermath of the Star Plamsa incident created a domino effect that thrust Megumi into this world. When I tell him everything, I want it so he’s not forced to put his guard up. I wish for him to be comfortable with his vulnerability to this reality our family is in. To tell there’s the possibility he could lose his parents will weigh heavily on him, and he’s already been through so much for his age.”
You attentively gaze down at Satoru. It wasn’t unusual for him to look out for you, to show his caring, almost vulnerable side. He knows you don’t like hiding truths from people, especially your children. So, for you not to tell the other details means something else that’s made you hesitant. He was right, as you revealed the other issue.
“I also don’t want to jeopardize Megumi’s relationship with Toji. I won’t force him to feel what he already has. But I at least want him to understand that his father loves his family more than anything, even though what Toji did was inexcusable. I just don’t want to put Megumi under pressure in front of other people to be this calm, reserved Sorcerer. I want my son to be present and comfortable asking me anything when I tell him. You know how Megumi is, Satoru.”
He simply nods at your answer before he stands up at his full 190 cm height. He pulls on his goofy grin, pulling a complete 180 from how he was mere minutes ago.
“Of course, (Y/N)-dono. I understand, given what Megumi-kun is like when he’s on missions. Anyway, I gotta meet with Yaga-san, or I’ll get yelled at again. I’ll see you later, (Y/N)-dono!”
Satoru walks out of the room, leaving you and your husband alone. It was quiet, the sound of nature only resonating in the room. Then you suddenly felt Toji’s arms wrapped around you firmly, laying his forehead on your shoulder. Gently grasp Toji’s forearms and rub them soothingly.
“I know it’s hard for you to come forward to tell Megs this, Hon. I’m sorry I couldn’t say my part. I'm still terrible at saying my words. Thank you for speaking in my place, (Y/N).” Toji vocalizes, his tenderness revealing itself in the confines of the sit-in room.
“I appreciate it, Honey. You know I always have your back like you have mine. But please know Megumi does care for you, Toji. He has his own way of showing it, that’s all.” You assured him.
“Yeah, I know. He doesn’t like to do those whole words of affirmation things. I get the kid.”
“Hm, where have I seen that before? Like father like son, I guess.” You feigned your curiosity at your husband.
This evokes a burst of laughter out of Toji as he turns you around while still holding you close. Looking at you like an absolute fool too deep in love.
“You think you’re so funny, don’t you, (Y/N)? Come here, you.”
Toji dips his head, going for a kiss. Your eyes fluttered closed in response. You would have kept them closed if your phone hadn’t buzzed off in your pocket three times. You pulled away just as Toji was millimeters away from your lips. Toji groans as you check your phone to see who texted you.
“Who the hell is texting you right now–?” Toji asked in annoyance.
“It’s from Megumi, Dear. Give me a second.”
Toji grumbles, shoving his face in your neck to see what his son sent. You can feel your husband pouting, making you rub his head to calm him down. You read your son's texts that interrupted you and your husband’s intimate moment.
‘We’re at the location, Mom’
‘It doesn’t look bad, but I’ll still be careful.’
‘I’ll text you when we’re done, Mom.’
‘I love you, Mama❤️’
You cooed at Megumi’s text, sending your replies to him. Toji notices the texts and smiles as well. Megumi, indeed, was a mama’s boy; there is no denying it. Your sweet smile still graces your lovely lips as you look at your husband.
“Toji, stop pouting. I’ll give you all the kisses you want when we get home. I know how you are, you fiend.”
“What do you mean, Hon? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
You give Toji the stare that causes him to put his hands up in defense while scratching the back of his head. You roll your eyes as you escape your buff husband’s grasp, walking towards the door.
“If we get groceries and you cook dinner tonight, I’ll let you have your way with me, Dear~. Tsumiki said she was staying at a friend’s house because they were studying for an exam tomorrow. She won’t be home until Friday afternoon.” You said in your suggestive tone, sending a wink to your husband over your shoulder.
Toji holds a mischievous smirk as he quickly walks over to follow you closely as you leave the grounds of Jujutsu Tech.
“Of course, Doll. Anything for you~.”

Slow on the Internet
(idek how i found this pic of him but im SO glad this shit exists😭)
(AGED UP) Yuji Itadori x Black Fem Reader Fluff
Streamer!Yuuji, Shy!Reader, RoommateAU, Friends2Lovers
CW: oblivious Yuuji 😭😭, yuuji talking to his twitch chat, reader speaks some Japanese 🤝🏾 Yuuji speaks some English, not proofread
Word Count: 1701
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
any Japanese is written in Romaji and confirmed by DeepL
It was 10 pm, Itadori was sitting in his gaming headphones on his stylish armchair, playing a popular game while Spotify was quietly playing a mellow song in the background.
"Guys, the stream's gonna be a little quiet, I don't want to wake my roommate."
Itadori tried not to make too much noise, talking quietly to his audience.
- Which one?
- Is it (Y/n)??
- Megumi or the American girl you brought on a while ago?
- The girl??
"Yes, I’m talking about (Y/n). Megumi's out for the night. Uh, for those new to stream, a couple streams ago..." Yuuji laughs into his hand, "Like 3 streams ago, I forced my roommate, (Y/n), to make a... commentary vid with me."
- You should force her back fr 👀👀
- Bring her back, yall were cute
- You guys chemistry was adorable, u sure she's just a roomie??👀👀
He laughed at the comments, a little embarrassed at the idea of having chemistry with his roommate, but it was sweet of them to think that. He shook his head and laughed, trying to brush it off as a friendly relationship.
"Shut up, it’s a normal amount of chemistry! I like to think we have a cool dynamic.”
- UR TELLING ME U DON'T LIKE HER??
- denial isn’t healthy, Itadori
- but does she want to STAY ur friend??
It was flattering how invested they were in a relationship between him and (Y/n). He wasn't sure what his chat was implying, surely they were teasing him. There was a little part of him that liked and even agreed with his chat's implications. He was glad they were taking so much interest in his friendship with (Y/n). It was sweet.
"I- what are you guys saying?" He laughed nervously, his cheeks red.
- THAT SHE LIKES U DUH
- U LIKE EACH OTHER??
- ITADORI UR FUMBLING
"You really think my roommate likes me? Really?"
- YES
- The only she could make it more obvious was if she kissed you like r u srs 😭😭
- Does she take or borrow ur stuff a bunch?
"Oh yeah, all the time." He laughed, nodding. "Like she'll use my body soap and won’t give it back unless I ask. Sometimes she'll even just take my clothes and leave them somewhere in her heya (room); sore wa wakaranai (I don't get that)."
- Bro cuz she likes u
- YUUJI WHAT
- She got it bad too. Both of u do
- AND U FRIENDZONED HER??
His heart was beginning to race a little as his chat spoke and said all these things. He laughed nervously, but he didn't deny any of their comments. He wondered if all these things actually were happening because she did have feelings for him.
"No, no I didn't... did I?"
- How do u curve a goddess BY ACCIDENT?
- Rejecting someone by accident is crazy
- She is fine asf lowkey
He shivered a little as his chat continued, making him begin to feel a little bad for keeping his feelings to himself and even stupid when realizing that he wasn’t reading her feelings correctly.
"I don't know, I mean.... it never crossed my mind that she really liked me. Maybe... but she just did small things."
He rubbed the back of his neck, not sure what to say. "I didn’t think she’d like me, I thought she was just doing it cuz she’s still fairly new to Japan. Aside from the fact that she’s out of my league."
- is it because she's older than you?
- I dont even think ur age gap is even that big smh
- how old is she anyway? U look about the same age
- Ik ur 21 but how old is (Y/n)?
"How old? She's 23, but still..."
He rubbed the back of his neck, his face red. He just didn't know what to say so he just laughed nervously. They kept describing her and it made him feel bad, thinking that he had been doing this to her, hopefully she still liked him so he could try again.
- ONLY 2 YEARS AND U STRESSIN BOUT AN AGE GAP???
- If you don't GO CONFESS LIKE AN ADULT😭😭
- Ur both young adults so age is just a number fr
- Yuuji, don't piss me off 🙄😤
Itadori couldn't help but laugh the more he read, unable to deny the comments that his chat was making. It felt like his chat had read his mind.
"Okay okay, wakattyo (i get it)! She likes me, I might like her, age isn't an issue. What am I supposed to do though?"
- Talk to her wat 😭😭
- UH TALK TO HER??
- Ask her out duh.
He laughed and read the comments. His chat was making it so simple.
"Come on guys, it can't be that simple. I live with her! What if she doesn't feel the same and things end up being awkward?"
Itadori jumps out of his chair, his heart beating out of his chest when he hears the only other person in the house knock on his bedroom door. Shit. Of course. He then realized he had his stream on the whole time so she definitely heard everything. He got up and walked over to his door. He cracked open the door, peeking through with his cheeks still red.
“Hey, Yuu.”
"Hey... did you hear nandemo (anything)?"
"Hear what?" (Y/n) furrowed her eyebrows, "You on the phone?”
He paused and smiled, "Uh, yeah. Yeah, I was just making sure I wasn’t being too, um, loud. I thought you were asleep.”
“I was, but I woke up wanting something sweet. I'm running to the konbini, nani ka hoshi mono wa?"
“Yeah, sure.” He paused, thinking of something, "Can you get me some ichigo pocky?"
“Honto ni? I was gonna get the same thing.”
He laughed, her answer surprised him. "Really?"
“Yea. Alright, I'll be right back."
He smiles, waiting for her to come back. He had so many thoughts, so much to process about the stuff his chat said and his own feelings for her. He waited for her to come back with the strawberry pocky.
- Well???
- Did she seem to like u??
- What she say?
“There's really no reason for me not to like her, ya know? I'm starting to think I like her back, really like her, she’s so sweet." He rubbed his neck, feeling guilty, "You guys were right, I've been rejecting her by accident. When she gets back, I want to tell her."
- YAAY
- LETSSGOOO
- THATS MY BOY
- GAMER BF + SHY GF FTW
The comments made him smile even brighter. The chat called her his girlfriend, but he didn't want to get too ahead of himself. He could only hope she'd respond positively.
"Shut up guys, I'm not her boyfriend.... well, yet hopefully."
20 minutes later, she walks into his room with snacks and a few drinks in a bag. He didn't expect her to come back so fast but it made him grateful. He was smiling wide as he took off his headphones and paused his game again, realizing how cute she was when she was just being herself. (Y/n) pauses in his doorway with wide eyes and a dropped jaw.
“Are--” She lowered her voice, “Are you streaming?”
"Uh, heh yeah. Uh, my chat they made me see something. It has to do with you."
“Oh god...” She chuckles and waves shyly at the camera, walking over, “They don't want me on another stream, do they?”
His chat was blowing up with comments, excited at the appearance of his roommate again. "Shut up guys, I swear. It wasn't planned. Anyway, you don't have to come near the camera.”
“I don’t, good; I was freaking out already.” She laughs.
“Do you mind if I keep streaming while we talk?"
“Uh... sure, why?” She hands him a soda and the boxes of pocky then backs out of the camera, “You making me nervous~”
"Yeah, sorry. They've really grown to like you, so they're excited to see you again."
“I was only in one stream!”
"I know, I know, but they really liked you. So every time you show up again, they get really excited because they love seeing more of you."
“I didn’t know I had fans; is that what you wanted to tell me?”
He sighed, "No, it's not. There's something else."
“Mkay...?”
"Alright.” He takes a deep breath and stands, hoping he doesn’t make a fool of himself, “So chat made me realize that I’m a biggest idiot in the world. I... I like you, (Y/n).”
“You're...” (Y/n) chuckles uncomfortably, “You’re joking? Kore wa jyooku desu ka?”
"No, no. I mean it. They helped me realize that you liked me so I wanted to tell you that.”
“But I thought you didn't like me.”
"Yeah, well, I thought I didn't, I realized it after they pointed out how we treat each other. And they were right.”
“So you were rejecting me... by accident?!”
“I just thought you'd stick around me cuz you’re still a little new to Japan!"
“Yuuji, I've lived here for like 5 months now!”
“Yeah, but I thought, like... I don’t know!”
“God, you be so clueless sometimes.” She sighs deeply, “Since I know now, finish your stream and we can eat the snacks and maybe, uh, eiga o miru?"
Itadori froze. “Movie? You... want to watch a movie with me?"
“Seems like the only thing to do this late at night," She chuckles, "Everything but the convenience store is closed this late."
"Hell yeah, I’d love to!”
(Y/n) laughs, “Mkay, lemme know when you’re done.”
(Y/n) leaves his room with the bag of her sweets and closes the door. Yuuji sits back down in his chair with a wide smile on his face as he starts playing his game again. He was so focused on finishing it for his stream and going to watch the movie that he wasn’t reading the chat’s confused and riled comments. He finally looked over at them and laughed, pausing the game:
- ITADORI IF U DON'T END THE STREAM
- GO BRO
- END STREAM
- STREAM TMR TF

FAMILY FORMATIONS PART THIRTEEN
Tumblr media
Summary: Megumi asks you about the strange unknown man he fought in Shibuya.
CW: sad, soft, canon typical violence
A/N: this is short and kinda shit but I thought of this idea and it wormed into my brain and now I’m here :) I liked the idea of a moment between reader and megumi between *the megumi bad thing* and Shibuya, Satoru’s gone she’s vulnerable megumi is vulnerable just raw yaknow
Recommended Listening:
Favourite Crime - Olivia Rodrigo
10am Gare du Nord - Keaton Henson
Tumblr media
You rifled through the cupboards in the kitchen of some stranger – long gone now, avoiding the destructive chaos of the culling games.
Yuuji, showering. Everyone else, resting maybe? Dead? Stuck in a box like your husband? You don’t know.
The empty pit of fear swirling in your stomach was driving you to madness, but you were grounded by the presence of a tall, raven-haired boy leaning on the counter beside you.
You found some ramen, throwing it into a pot so you could at least manage to feed these boys after all of you had been trying to navigate this cruel imitation of a reality show all day.
Megumi, out of the corner of your eye – was staring holes into the ground by his shoes.
Asking him what’s up seemed futile, what wasn’t up? Everything had fallen apart, and you were using every fibre of your being to hold everything and everyone together until you could figure out what the fuck you, we’re going to do.
“Spill it, Mr. Fushiguro.” You say, elbowing his side.
He rolls his eyes at you, half-heartedly.
You sit on the stool by the bar in this stranger's kitchen.
“‘Gumi, it’s just us now. Talk to me.”
He kicks his shoes against the linoleum floor. He’s silent for a moment and you think maybe, he’s not going to talk.
“Back there, in Shibuya. When we were all separated. There was a man. I fought him. Only for a minute but… he, he acted like he knew me.” He looked at the ceiling.
“You’re a talented sorcerer in your own right, a Zen’in by birth and adopted son of the Gojo and Y/L/N clan. People are gonna target you, no matter how much I try to stop them.” You smile sadly.
“No, not like that. It was like – he knew me. He asked my name; I told him, and he just said “Fushiguro huh? Good for you, kid.’ And then he…”
The pause was enough to tell you it was bugging him.
“He what, honey?”
“Stabbed himself in the head.”
Well, fuck, that wasn’t what you expected. You tried to think of who it could have been, was it fear of Megumi’s strength, of the battle that drove this man to suicide? Why did the Fushiguro name affect him so badly.
To try and place the man so your son could put a name to the face and end his mental gymnastics, you ask.
“What did he look like?”
“He was tall, maybe an inch or two shorter than –” Satoru. An inch or two shorter than Satoru. He was worried about your reaction to his name.
“Really strong, built like a wrestler. Dark hair, kinda looked like me to be honest. Had this scar on his lip?” He finished.
You dropped the bowl in your hand, and it shattered to the ground in tiny pieces as everything you’d believed was questioned in a millisecond in your frazzled mind.
The crash made Megumi jump.
“What? Do you know him?” He asked.
You turn to him, face like you’d seen a ghost – but it wasn’t you who had seen the ghost.
“He, looked like you and had a scar on his lip?” You ask, Megumi looking at you with concern and surprise.
“Yeah, who was it? I’ve never seen you this jumpy – who was that guy?”
Fuck, you wish you had Satoru here. Do you tell him? How do you tell him? Should you tell him? There had been no parenting book for raising the kids of the man who’d killed your husband and then your husband had killed – and there was certainly no guidance on how to tell your son that the man who committed suicide in front of him so he wouldn’t have to fight him – was in fact, his father.
But Toji Fushiguro was dead. You’d seen the body.
He was very, very dead.
If he was dead, how was in in Shibuya?
The séance.
It clicked into place. A ghost from the past, the sorcerer killer. The old woman. But nobody would dare use Toji Fushiguro as a pawn or a puppet - he’d regained his sense of self and found his son.
His blessing.
Your blessing.
You had to tell him; he deserved the truth.
Snapping from your trance – you motioned the boy to sit beside you.
“Megumi. The man you spoke to, the man who asked your name. He was happy you’d taken your mother’s name, instead of Zen’in. Megumi, that man, my sweet boy, – was your father. It was Toji Fushiguro.” You clasp his hand.
“But he’s dead. Dad, Satoru, killed him.” He said, in disbelief.
“He was resurrected as a puppet, but your father was a stubborn man – so I’m guessing he retook control.”
“But then why did he kill himself.”
“He killed himself, Megumi, because – he refused to fight or hurt his own son. He knew it was you, and returning to death was a better option.” A part of you prays thanks to Toji – for having the sense to not put his, your, son through that.
Megumi was silent for a moment.
“I didn’t recognise him.” He spoke.
“You were so young when he died, it’s not surprising.” You push his hair out of his face, a fruitless endeavour really.
You let him soak it in for a moment.
“It’s okay to be sad, he was your father. No matter what else he did or didn’t do.”
“I’m not sad, I pity him.” He spoke.
“Me too, Megumi. Your father was a lost soul, but one thing I do know – is he didn’t name you his blessing for nothing, he loved you – but losing your mother broke him. I can tell you one thing for sure, that I’m certain of: he is proud of you. I know that because he barely knew you and felt pride. I know you like the back of my hand and pride isn’t a big enough word for what – what, Satoru and I feel.” You turn his face to look at you, and you smile softly.
“Thanks for telling me the truth. I’m, um, gonna kick Itadori out of the shower before the hot water runs out so I can have one too.” He stands from the stool.
You know he needs space to process.
You nod and mention continuing making some food. As he reaches the door the the bedroom with the en-suite, he turns.
“They may have been my mother and father, but um, they - they’re not my mom and dad.” He says, eyes downcast but flicking up to look at you. Your throat constricts with tears and before you can reply, he’s gone inside the room.
You look to the sky, sending thanks to Megumi’s birth mother – for allowing you the chance to raise the blessing that boy is.

what if megumi's mom never died?
WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR JUJUTSU KAISEN MANGA!!!!!!!
(I’ve been thinking about Toji x Megumi’s mama so much and I decided to make a long rant about an AU where she lived! I’m not Gege, so take this with a grain of salt.)
To start off, it is canon that megumama was the only woman that Toji ever ‘truly gave himself to’. She made him a better person, and her death highly influenced him to do the actions we see in canon. That being said, if she was alive, ‘hidden inventory’ would be pretty boring. Toji wouldn’t assassinate Riko, and would ideally be working a random job in an office to provide for his family. However, Haibara’s death would still occur, and unfortunately, Geto would turn to the dark side. Geto was born cursed to begin with, and there are so many other factors besides Riko’s assassination that drove him insane.
Gojo’s personality had a significant change after Toji attacked him in canon. Since Toji never attacks him in this AU, I like to think his personality would be slightly different than we see now. Probably more annoying/immature. He also might not always keep his limitless technique on 24/7.
Megumi’s cursed technique would still be here in this AU, and therefore he still is Toji’s winning card against the Zenin clan. Toji likely would have more children with megumama as well, so there is a possibility of having other children with powerful cursed techniques. However, Tsumiki and Megumi would have no knowledge of one another, since Toji wouldn’t have married her mother.
Speaking of Megumi, he’d be a happier teen, and have a good childhood since he has both parents, siblings & an overall stable family life. His personality would be very different! I like to think he’d be a little bit more like Yuuji or even Gojo. In canon, he thinks his parents left him, and he had no one to rely on, which is why he behaves the way we see. In this AU, it is the opposite.
I believe Toji would allow Satoru Gojo to mentor and train Megumi. Megumi and Gojo would likely get along very well. Toji would form some what of an alliance with Gojo. Additionally, Toji would definitely train Maki & help her reach her highest potential. Toji & megumama might even take care of both Mai & Maki, knowing how cruel the Zenin clan was to them, and they all bond over their hatred of their clan. If Toji chooses to take both the girls under his wing, the relationship between the sisters would have been much much much stronger, and Mai likely wouldn’t have died.
In this AU, Sukuna and Kenjaku are still lurking and scheming. Therefore, Shibuya & the culling games & everything after would still occur, but certain things would just be a tad bit different. For example, Granny Ogami wouldn’t bring Toji’s soul back from the dead, and he wouldn’t wreck havoc. There is a 50/50 chance of Gojo being sealed. It doesn’t matter much though, because he will eventually be unsealed anyway.
If Toji interferes in the Shibuya battles that take place, there is a slight chance that deaths could’ve been avoided, such as Nanami & Nobara. However, the deaths of some characters seem unavoidable, such as Principal Yaga, Mechamaru & Grandpa Zenin. There is always the possibility of Toji dying in Shibuya too, but let's say that he survives Shibuya. Characters would still be heavily injured from Shibuya: Inumaki losing his arm, Maki & Nanami getting burns, Nobara & Nanami both losing an eye.
Since Mai is alive in this AU, the Zenin clan massacre likely would not have occurred. Megumi & Naoya would still fight over the position of the new clan head. With Megumi having support from Choso, Toji, his siblings, Maki, Mai, Yuuji, and literally so many more people, Naoya wouldn’t even be a problem & Megumi would win in a landslide….Therefore, the Zenin clan would go through vast changes, now that Megumi is in control, and has the help of Toji/Maki/Mai.
Sukuna likely would not have been able to possess Megumi. Instead, it likely would’ve been Yuuji’s body or maybe one of Megumi’s siblings (if they have special cursed techniques) bodies that Gojo is fighting in the current arc. Without Megumi/Sukuna’s shikigami, Gojo would have a much easier time defeating Sukuna. It won’t be easy to save the vessel while defeating Sukuna (we don’t even know currently in the manga what is going to happen…), so the chances of Sukuna’s vessel dying are 50/50.
After defeating Sukuna, the group likely would go after Kenjaku, and most likely return victorious. Gojo would put Geto’s body to rest once and for all.
Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen would be a bit less dark and would have a somewhat happy ending with most of the characters being alive (although some of them are not in good shape, but who gives af at least they are alive).
That’s it for now, let me know what you guys think!

what would megumi’s life have been if he was actually raised by the zenin from day one? like either gojo lost the custody battle or they were able to scoop him up before gojo ever reached them. i doubt they would want to keep tsumiki with them so she’s not there for little baby megs.
i think it would be really cool to see a zenin raised megumi interacting with his fellow classmates when he attends the school, not to mention the contrast between him and gojo. like on paper they both should have gotten the same treatment-being pampered and spoiled rotten but we also know that the zenin think that hurting little kids makes them stronger so it would be super interesting to see megumi realise that the stuff that happened to him wasn’t normal and for gojo to have a guilt trip bc he wasn’t able to help megumi when he needed someone to help him the most.
So I have a fanfic that I’ve half written (no idea if I’ll ever finish it—I’d love to, it’s just hard to find the time) about EXACTLY THAT that I talked about in this post for an ask game.
That being said, that entire thing happens from Tsumiki’s perspective, and I agree with you—I don’t think the Zenin would have ever actually taken her too. They don’t want her. She’s not Zenin. She’s not a sorcerer. They only bought Megumi. For the most part, Megumi is absent from that post, and you asked about Megumi. So this is what I think would happen on Megumi's side of that post I linked.
It comes down to two things:
1. He is never, ever happy with the Zenin.
2. He never lets go of his sister.
Megumi’s old enough to remember Tsumiki when the Zenin take him away. He's old enough to love her. And I think that Megumi loves very quietly, but he also loves very violently. He wouldn't let his sister hold his hand on the walk to school, but he would sacrifice himself for her future.
I think the Zenin took him from his sister, and I think he kicked and screamed and wasn't strong enough. I think they thought he would forget her eventually.
And then I think he bit most of the Zenin Clan.
At the end of the day, what Megumi wanted was the one thing the Zenin were not willing to give him. They were never like the Gojo clan, they were never going to pamper him, but there are a great many things in this world that they would give the Ten Shadows finally returned to them. But they would not give him a non-sorcerer, non-Zenin sister who would only be a weakness to him. They refused to let him have any contact with his sister, and that was the source of a lot of what soured.
Any Megumi that was taken in by the Zenin would have been taken in to Naobito's household directly. He would be announced as the one who finally inherited their most cherished technique, and he would be declared heir, and the Zenin would call him beloved for it.
They would keep him in a room that was large and empty and almost always dark, and he wouldn't be allowed to decide when he slept or woke, and the door would always be locked from the outside. They would give him a wardrobe of expensive clothes that he hated, and he would never get to pick which of them he wore.
Megumi would hate them. He would hate all of them.
He's just not the type to be comfortable with or enjoy the adoration of others--especially when it's not backed up by genuine love. Megumi is someone who very much values sincerity and depth to emotion--it's one of the reasons why he seems to respect Yuuji so much. Yuuji is a good person who follows through with what he says. He's not just going to talk about wanting to save people--he's there making the sacrifices as he does it.
The Zenin do not actually love him. And he knows it. He's experienced love before, and this isn't it.
They love the idea of him. The fantasy of him that lives in their heads. He has no interest in being their little god prince to contend with the Gojo's own. He knows who he is, and it's not this. He wants to go home. He wants to find his sister again. He doesn't want to do this anymore.
And I think that's a feeling Megumi never escape: he just didn't want to do this anymore.
Megumi would feel like a bug pinned beneath glass in the Zenin compound. He would constantly have people managing him--when he ate, what he ate, what he wore, when he slept, when he woke, when he trained, what he did. Having to become a jujutsu sorcerer signified an inherent loss of control, but it's nothing compared to the sheer objectification that he goes through when the Zenin have exclusive control over him.
He has no power of what clothes he wears. How his hair is styled. His schedule, his diet, the people he speaks too--he's suffocating and the Zenin are just increasing pressure on him.
I don't think Gojo ever thought that would be Megumi's life.
We’re gonna just have this imagining exist in the same world as the Tsumiki centric fic described in the linked post, and in that, the reason why Gojo never took him in was because he didn’t know Megumi had a sister. He showed up, saw the divine dogs, realized Megumi had the Ten Shadows, and decided he couldn’t do this. He was a mess. He was grieving Suguru and Haibara. Megumi looked just like the man who killed Riko, and apparently inherited the fucking Ten Shadows of all the goddamn things. The Zenin would lose their shit, and Gojo didn’t have the energy to fight and told himself he didn’t need to, because if Megumi was the Ten Shadows he’d be cared for like a prince with the Zenin. He turned around and left and spent the rest of his life with Megumi in the back of his mind, always nagging him with whether he made the right decision. It wasn’t until Maki got there and made a few worrisome references to Megumi's standard of living that he started to really worry that he had made the wrong one, and it wasn't until he found out about Tsumiki that he knew it was the wrong decision.
It's like this: The Zenin hurt Megumi in every world.
It would be bad no matter what, but it really gets bad because Megumi refuses to stop trying to get back to Tsumiki. She's his sister. They didn't have anyone or anything in this world, but they had each other, and he couldn't let these people just take her away. He’s feral about it. He refuses to fit the mold they keep trying to cram him in. He’s trying to scale the walls to escape. He’s increasingly desperate and angry and the Zenin are getting more and more frustrated the longer he fights them. He’s the heir to the clan, and he can’t stop trying to leave it to get back to some random girl who isn’t his real sister and isn’t someone they’ll ever allow him to have.
It gets bad.
They put him under increasingly strict levels of control. He’s constantly being trained, which means he's constantly being hurt. He’s not allowed to speak to anyone without the clan head’s approval. He is under absolutely constant guard after he manages to get over the wall and halfway to his old neighborhood before they catch him again. Tsumiki’s name is not allowed to be said aloud, or his old name. He forgets his name used to be Fushiguro, but he doesn’t forget Tsumiki. He doesn’t let himself.
I think it escalates until it hits a breaking point. Megumi becomes increasingly self-destructive and non-responsive to everything they try. They push him to extremes that start risking permanent damage.
I think Megumi would try to hurt himself, eventually.
He wouldn't be in his right mind. He's in the most shit situation possible. He's undergoing pretty severe abuse. He'd be at the end of his rope from the lack of control over his own life, and he'd be spiteful as hell towards the Zenin. And the only thing he has to hurt them with is himself.
As a character, Megumi has always considered his own sacrifice as an acceptable means to the end of getting back at someone. Mahoraga, intrinsically, requires him killing himself as a way of killing someone else. He'd hurt himself if it was the only way he had of hurting them.
Naobito would cover it up. He'd never, ever want the rest of the clan to find out that it happened. It was already bad enough that Megumi openly hated them--he couldn't have the Zenin seeing any vulnerability in what was meant to be their most powerful member. He'd put Megumi in total lockdown until he could make it all go away.
Then they'd make a deal.
A binding vow. Megumi could never purposefully hurt himself again. He could never again try to leverage his own safety against the clan.
And in exchange, Tsumiki would be taken care of.
The last time Megumi saw his sister, she was on a sinking ship. They were running out of food, money, options--he doesn't know if she even has food anymore. He doesn't know if she lost the apartment or if there's still running water.
They're not letting him see her. But they are letting him take care of her. He can sacrifice another piece of control over himself, and she'll never have to worry about money again. They'll pay for her housing, her food, her education, for her every desire for as long as she lives. The trust the Zenin set up for her will be a generous one, and it will be managed meticulously by a trustee who can make sure she'll be provided for until she's old and grey. And Naobito will vow to never hurt her or send someone else to hurt her. She'll be safe. She'll be taken care of.
Megumi makes the deal.
In the end, the deal's what sort of breaks him.
Because he doesn't promise to stop looking for her, but the Zenin manage to make it a part of the terms anyway. When they approach Tsumiki's mother with the offer to be her family's beneficiary, they include a requirement that Tsumiki be moved to another city entirely with no forwarding address given. She needs to be somewhere that Megumi can never find her again.
The Zenin keep the old apartment. They pay the rent every month. And the next time Megumi manages to make it off compound, they let him make it all the way there before dragging him home. They let him see the empty apartment with all its empty rooms.
Naobito wants him to know that Tsumiki's gone. He wants him to know that he'll never find her again.
He tries to run a few more times after that, but he never makes it very far. He doesn't have anywhere to go.
In the linked post, Megumi finds Tsumiki, just once. She's on a class trip. He's on one of his very few and far between allowed excursions off the compound grounds, and he sees her in the crowd and recognizes her, and he ducks away from his escort before anyone can stop him.
She remembers him. He didn't think she would do that.
She tries to save him. He didn't think she would do that either.
She still loves him. And he was always too afraid to hope she would do that.
It goes the same way it did the first time. There's a car, and the Zenin shove him in it. She's on the outside, and he's trapped within, and he wishes she didn't scream so loudly when it happens. The sound never seems to leave his dreams.
His sister still loves him. Naoya hits him in the back of the head. He wakes up, and it was like she was never there at all.
But they hit him harder, after. Like they're trying to beat the memory of her out of him. He has even less freedom, when he already had next to none at all.
But he still has a sister. He has a place to go that isn't here. He just has to figure out where that is.
He wouldn't really have anyone in the Zenin clan. Most people are just... weird about him. Naoya's violently abusive. Naobito's weird and violently abusive. Everyone wants him to be someone he's not.
Maki would be his favorite.
He doesn't care about whether she's got cursed energy--his sister didn't have any. And she's obviously strong. She doesn't treat him like a divine blessing or try to force him to act a certain way. I think they would have genuinely liked each other, but kept each other at a distance. They're both trapped in an abusive situation and keep themselves safe by keeping everyone else at arm's length.
He would have been happy to see her get out, though. He would have told her that she could have his spot as heir or head or whatever when she came back if she wanted it. She would have told him that if he ever got out... well, fuck it. They could be something then. Family. Whatever the fuck they weren't allowed to be here.
She would have told him she's sorry, and she would have meant it. The only one she she regretted more than Megumi was Maki. He would have told her not to be, that if she dared to be sorry for getting out that he would never forgive her, and he would have meant that too.
I think his relationship with his own techinque would be very different in a world where the Zenin raised him. In canon, his issue is that he doesn't view himself as someone who could be powerful or win in the long run, but in this world, all he ever hears is how powerful he is. Pride of the fucking Zenin. The most powerful of them in centuries. Meant to rival Gojo fucking Satoru himself.
I think his real issue would be controlling it.
His technique would be a source of negative associations for him. It's the reason why the Zenin took him away. Most of his interactions with it have involved getting beaten and hurt by either his family or a high-level curse they shoved him in front of. I think he'd have a lot more firepower under his belt than at the start of canon, but he'd have less of a fine tuned control over it.
He lost control over his own life because of his shadows. It think that would manifest in struggling to control his own shikigami at times. he's not as in-sync with them as he is in canon.
Eventually, he'd go to Jujutsu High. He would be the only one in the first year class at the beginning, just like in canon. And he'd finally meet Gojo Satoru, the man he's supposed to topple.
He looks at Megumi really goddamn weird.
He's... enthusiastic. About. Teaching. He guesses. And constantly asking prying questions about the Zenin, but not in the sort of way he'd expect from a rival. In the sort of way he'd expect from someone concerned about him. Which is stupid. And annoying. And weird. He keeps a distance from everyone. They've all heard about the Zenin clan heir, and he has no interest in having to fit or break whatever mold they've already cast him in. He's better off on his own.
Maki's there. She's cordial where other people can see it, and in private, she takes care of him in a way that's terrifyingly close to familial. He's not sure if he likes it. He's not Mai, and she's not Tsumiki, and they both want someone they can't have.
She isn't sorry she left. She is sorry she left him. He can hate her for it all he goddamn pleases.
Of course, if this is in the same world as the linked post, Megumi finds Tsumiki again. He finds her in Sendai.
He gets to keep her, this time.
Gojo Satoru, of all the goddamn people, intervenes and becomes his sister's benefactor. It's super fucking weird. He won't stop looking at Megumi strangely. He won't stop insisting that he didn't know he had a sister, like that matters.
That would sort of be the first time in a long time that life actually gets better for Megumi.
I think he would ask to go by Fushiguro again, once he asks Tsumiki what his name used to be. He'd ask her if she minded it, him taking the name again, and he'd ask the rest of the school to call him Fushiguro instead of Zenin.
Predictably enough, Naobito loses his shit when he finds out, but it's not nearly as big of a pain in the ass as he thinks it is? Because Gojo intervenes.
Gojo keeps intervening.
It drives Megumi nuts, because if anyone was supposed to hate him, it was this guy. If anyone was supposed to be against him, it was this guy. This is the guy he was supposed to rival. This is the guy who killed his shitheel bio dad.
Gojo's just... good to him. He keeps him safe. He keeps him safe from his own goddamn family, and that's--no one's ever done that. No one's ever protected him from the Zenin.
The Zenin try to remove him from the Tokyo campus and move him to Kyoto the second they find out Tsumiki's there, and Gojo just... says no. It causes an uproar, and he doesn't fucking budge. It's treading dangerously close to him kidnapping the Zenin clan heir, his refusal to let them remove him from the Tokyo campus, and he doesn't care about whatever problems it causes him.
Megumi's his student. He doesn't want to leave. So Gojo won't let them take him.
He personally goes to Kyoto and collects him, the one time the Zenin force him into a car and move him when Gojo's off on a mission. He tells the higher ups to get fucked. He changes Megumi's student I.D. to read Fushiguro, and he causes problems for Yaga and the assistants until they start calling him Fushiguro as well.
Megumi's different with the other students once his sister is there.
He's more connected with them. He becomes best friends with Kugisaki and Itadori. He gets closer with the second years. He's visibly happier, and it sort of casts in sharp contrast how unhappy he was before this.
And Gojo? Gojo's so goddamn sorry. He didn't know megumi had a sister.
The thing is that now that both Tsumiki and Megumi are on campus, it sort of haunts Gojo with what could have been. They're both fantastic kids--funny, smart, resourceful. And it's painful watching them try to rebuild what was taken from them. And it could have just. never happened. Because he could have saved them both. He could have been their family.
It's sort of painfully obvious the Zenin abused Megumi, and it fucking haunts him. He doesn't even have to read into Megumi's behavior--he sees it happen, right in front of him, with how they try to control him and push him around. He wants to kill them for it. He wants to hate himself for it. He could have saved Megumi and he just. He didn't.
He wishes he did.

Ohhh I love your Scarlet Witch series a lot. I love dad gojo sm. How about scarlet witch reader but she is also a first year along with megumi, yuji and nobara. 4 of them and dad gojo. I just can't stop thinking about it.
scarlet witch! fushiguro! reader being a first year student together with yuuji, megumi & nobara
jujutsu kaisen x reader
masterlist of the series
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
╰➤ CW(s): major spoilers for jujutsu kaisen, mentions of scarlet witch's powers, mainly headcanons + drabbles
╰➤ PAIRING(s): platonic! jujutsu kaisen x reader (adoptive dad! gojo satoru and tokyo jujutsu tech students)
╰➤ SYNOPSIS: what if scarlet witch! baby fushiguro! reader was the nearly same age as megumi the time gojo got her and with that—you end up becoming a first year student at jujutsu tech with your beloved older brother megumi?
Tumblr media
╰➤ i think you would have the same reaction as kid! megumi when gojo approached him and took him into custody, because just who the fuck is this strange-looking goof with black round sunglasses and snow-white hair??
╰➤ ngl, i think you would have nearly kicked gojo between the legs too because, for one thing, you were a daddy's girl. before leaving you and deciding to take on that mission involving a certain star plasma vessel, your papa toji taught you everything you needed to know. he practically taught you not to trust strangers and how to defend yourself without your wiggly-woos magic knowing how special you are as your mother had said.
╰➤ but, as soon as gojo mentioned that you have a brother and even a sister, you became emotional.
"you don't have to be alone anymore, [name]."
╰➤ it had never been easy for someone like you who had spent most of her childhood alone, having to constantly change homes due to your father's job as an assassin and such. so you took gojo's offer to stay with him—and it turned out to be the best decision you had ever made.
╰➤ unlike kid! megumi or even a kid! tsumiki, you developed a father-daughter bond with gojo while growing up in his care. you two just clicked and were chaotic. unlike megumi and tsumiki, who address gojo as teacher, you openly refer to gojo as your dad.
╰➤ spoiler alert: gojo may or may not have cried when you called him dad.
╰➤ your relationship with gojo, on the other hand, had a rocky start. you just couldn't replace toji, even if he left you behind. you also struggled to adjust to having a permanent home and living with strangers, especially when it came to trusting gojo with your secret—how you didn't have cursed energy but rather something else—chaos magic.
╰➤ gojo was taken aback because, once again, despite having something like that, he couldn't feel any cursed energy from you.
╰➤ you expected him to rat you out and be disappointed because he comes from a clan that's pretty much a big deal, but you were surprised when gojo simply ruffled your hair and smiled down at you, telling you how special you are and promising to keep your secret.
╰➤ spoiler alert (again): you cried just as hard as he did when you called him your dad.
╰➤ gojo, megumi and you had no intention of getting yourself to enroll in jujutsu tech. in fact, you were already attending a "normal" school, but a student only had to eat one of ryomen sukuna's fingers to be cursed and nearly executed by the higher-ups. it gave you deja vu.
╰➤ with your father, gojo satoru, being able to stop the execution of yuuji, a condition was made for you to enroll and become a first-year student at jujutsu tech alongside the vessel in order to keep the special grade curse ryomen sukuna at bay while also being the one to stop (and execute) itadori yuuji in the event something goes horribly wrong while yuuta okkotsu is overseas.
╰➤ the higher-ups were already aware of your ability because you had previously demonstrated and used it, but you had to be held back due to your issue with the higher-ups viewing you as a threat and being unable to accept the fact that you, a non-curse user, possessed such power in secret. (but really, they simply cannot accept that you, our dear fushiguro [name], are a baddie 😒💅)
╰➤ to be fair, you didn't want to enroll in the first place, but yuuji influenced you now, so it wasn't just the condition. you've also realized that you can't keep your powers—your chaos magic—hidden forever. you can put it to good use too.
╰➤ congratulations! you, as well as yuuji and nobara, are now officially first-year students! and because of gojo's request, you even have a scarlet-colored uniform (that is similar to mcu! wanda maximoff's attire during age of ultron.)
╰➤ you definitely clicked with yuuji because you two were bestowed with such a gift that makes you both cursed and blessed at the same time.
╰➤ apart from yuuji, you also instantly clicked with nobara because you were both the only girls in the group. furthermore, you two shared a love of fashion and interests ><
╰➤ yuuji and nobara were shocked to learn that you were megumi's (half) little sibling because you looked nothing like him—but that's not true because you do get the "fushiguro look" when you're angry or frenzied in the middle of a fight.
╰➤ both yuuji and nobara were surprised to learn that gojo is technically your father and maybe megumi's as well, but mostly because you openly call gojo your dad.
╰➤ because you are the youngest of the group, the first years are protective of you, just as your adoptive father gojo is. (it's literally kikufuku protection squad again! ><)
╰➤ like, you know when megumi is approached by a girl in public, and they all have a plan? they have something similar for you (💀)
╰➤ please, as the scarlet witch with toji's blood running through your veins, you get attention every now and then for your goddess-like beauty, whether from a boy, a girl, or literally anyone.
╰➤ you see yuuji as your older brother, so you address him as "yuuji-nii-san," just as you do with your actual (half) older brother megumi, and nobara as "nobara-nee-san."
╰➤ in contrast to the og! scarlet witch! baby fushiguro—you have a beef with ryomen sukuna, just as you have a beef with the higher-ups, particularly gakuganji.
╰➤ you remember that mission where yuuji let sukuna take control of him and the result was him ripping yuuji's heart out? that irritated you greatly. so, what exactly did you do? you threw hands in ryomen sukuna's domain ;)
╰➤ sukuna was taken aback to see you because, once again, you don't have cursed energy, and he clearly didn't expect you to be this powerful.
╰➤ your powers weren't particularly strong at the time yet, but when you thrashed his place and threatened him after yeeting him across the domain, sukuna sensed something sinister within you, especially with the way your eyes were glowing a dangerous red color as you unleashed psionics of your chaos magic.
╰➤ sukuna couldn't wait to see you grow stronger and eventually become the scarlet witch, the all-powerful being prophesied to rule everything and destroy the world.
╰➤ you take every opportunity to annoy gakuganji, and gojo is so proud of you, while gakuganji is like, "damn you gojo satoru for raising this monster to be just like you!!"
╰➤ in general, not much has changed. you were still a bundle of mischief and chaos, as well as a total badass. you were also still very close to gojo, the first and even second year students of tokyo jujutsu tech—just like how the og! scarlet witch! baby fushiguro! reader is.
╰➤ the only thing that had changed was how much more confident you were around the higher-ups and how you first reacted to meeting gojo because you weren't a baby when he took you in; you were already nearly megumi's age and got raised by toji before he left.
╰➤ with that being said, you got toji's cool-headedness, confidence, sarcastic and calculating attitude despite being sweet and all.

Thing
Sukuna doesn't like it when what's his gets called a thing.
Pairing: Sukuna x Yuuji Genre: general, a bit of angst, a bit of fluff, suggestive Word Count: 1.5k Warnings: 18+, mentions of violence, Sukuna is his usual manipulative and evil self :), unhealthy relationship dynamics, possessiveness, some suggestive things. All characters are of age. This story is 18+. Minors don't interact.
You can also read it here on AO3 if you prefer that
This story is based on chapter 203 of the JJK manga. But Kenjaku meets Yuuji, Megumi, etc., and tells them what he told Choso. Our dear King of Curses is watching the scene.
Tumblr media
"As long as that thing continues to co-exist with Sukuna, the cycle of curses will never end. You won't be able to stop it."
Kenjaku looks smug as he reveals his plan to the small group of sorcerers standing in front of him.
Sukuna's fingers tighten around the skulls that function as armrests on his throne from which he is watching the scene through the pair of eyes on his vessel's cheekbones.
So far, he found it quite entertaining to see the brat and his friends fight and struggle only to run into the one who is responsible for all of this chaos. Kenjaku who happily informed them that everything was going according to his plan.
The King of Curses had smiled to himself in amusement as he leaned back on his throne and enjoyed the little show.
Until now.
He doesn't know why he suddenly feels a wave of anger wash over him. But his eyes narrow as they stare at Kenjaku. At his smiling face, so conceited, so proud of himself. Kenjaku thinks he is the perfect puppet master pulling all the strings in this little game.
But that's not what sets Sukuna off. It's something else he realizes.
"That thing," Kenjaku said when talking about the brat.
How dare he!
A loud cracking noise echoes in the vast cavern of the Malevolent Shrine as the skulls under Sukuna's hands get crushed between his long fingers and crumble to fine dust.
Hot rage is surging through Sukuna. The disrespect! How dare this maggot call Sukuna's vessel a thing! His perfect vessel! Made specifically for him. Made to be his alone. Fit to be the vessel of a King. The vessel of a God!
How dare Kenjaku call what is Sukuna's a thing!
Sukuna doesn't care that he himself only refers to the boy as a brat or that he loves to tease him and see him suffer. This is something different. After all, Yuuji belongs to Sukuna. Sukuna can do as he pleases with what is his.
But he won't let anyone else do that. He won't let anyone disrespect the boy like that. Because doesn't this also mean an indirect insult towards Sukuna himself? If his vessel is just a thing, what does this make Sukuna in Kenjaku's eyes?
Before he consciously knows what he is doing, Sukuna already tugs at the invisible string that connects him to the brat. A moment later, Yuuji tumbles into his domain, landing with a loud thud and a pained cry at the foot of Sukuna's throne.
Golden eyes snap to Sukuna's, glaring at him with a hostile sparkle.
"Hey! What was that for? What do you want now?"
Sukuna huffs before he manifests directly behind the boy, a large hand darting out to wrap tightly around Yuuji's throat, effectively cutting off his angry ramblings.
"Shhh, brat, calm down before you give me a headache."
Sukuna can feel how tense the boy is as the King of Curses presses his body against Yuuji's back, his hand still wrapped tightly around the brat's neck.
They have never been so close. Never like this, at least. Not when they aren't in the middle of a fight.
Sukuna can feel the brat's pulse flutter under his palm. Oh, how delicious. Usually, he finds great joy in the boy's fear or anger. For a moment, he is tempted to give in to it, to cause the boy more distress. To taunt him, to rile him up, to get under his skin like no one else can.
But he represses that urge. Now is not the right moment for this. Tonight Sukuna has other plans.
He leans down until his lips brush over the boy's ear, smiling when the light touch makes Yuuji jump.
The King's voice is deep, smooth, a seductive caress.
"I don't like how he talks about you. How he calls you a thing. If someone is allowed to call you that, it is only me."
"Fuck you! Get away from me! You are both vile!"
"You don't understand, brat. I will kill him."
He can feel the boy gulp, his adam's apple bopping against Sukuna's hand. Sukuna tightens his hold on him a bit more and adds softly,
"I will kill him for you, Yuuji."
The boy shivers at the use of his name. It's the first time Sukuna said it out loud. He can't help but think it feels so right on his tongue.
Yuuji.
Not thing, not brat, not vessel.
Yuuji.
It's a special feeling of ownership to call him by his given name. The discovery makes Sukuna laugh softly, mouth opening against Yuuji's ear, his fangs lightly grazing over the earlobe and down to the boy's neck.
Sukuna breathes him in, smirking at the fear he can smell, mingling with the faint scent of cherry blossoms that always sticks to the boy.
When he speaks again, it is against Yuuji's neck.
"I will make him crawl and beg and show him who is just a thing. He isn't even that. He is nothing. I will erase him and everything he ever was. He did his part. The only part that mattered. He gave me you. My perfect vessel. The only one who was strong enough to take my soul into himself. So strong and beautiful. And all mine."
His voice has become a whisper, a soft caress against the boy's skin, breath ghosting over the heated skin of his neck. Sukuna's lips brush lightly over Yuuji's pulse point before they press a kiss to it.
He can't remember if he has ever touched someone with so much tenderness. Probably not.
When Sukuna tries to recall his former intimate encounters, those are memories of violence. Brutal touches, feral bites, and kisses that drew blood. Bruised bodies he used for his pleasure and that were only allowed near him until the King had sated his hunger. Some of them he had let live. Others not.
But this is different.
The boy in his arms isn't one of those nameless concubines or one of those pathetic sacrifices they brought to his temple.
No, Yuuji is his vessel. He was made for Sukuna. Made to host a King. Made to provide sanctuary for a God's soul. How could he ever be just a thing? Or just a human or a curse? He is more than that. And finally, Sukuna's eyes were opened to this truth.
Sukuna lets his mouth linger there against the boy's soft, warm skin, lips lifting in a smile.
"You are a God like me, brat. And we will show everyone that this is our world. I will kill him for you. And I will kill everyone else who stands in your way or dares to disrespect you. You and I will rule this world."
Sukuna can't help but chuckle when the boy squirms in his arms, struggling to get away from him but failing. How cute.
And how nice it feels to feel that warm and strong body moving against his. To feel that smooth skin under his hands and lips. To hear that pretty voice cursing him and calling him names. How sweet it would be to hear other sounds coming out of that pretty little mouth. To hear cries of pleasure and whimpers of devotion.
And at that moment, Sukuna realizes that maybe he chose the wrong approach to all of this when he decided right in the beginning to treat his vessel with cruelty and mockery.
Maybe he should have done it differently. Maybe he should have helped the brat when he reached out to him with tears running down his face and desperation in his big golden eyes, begging him to save his friend. Maybe Sukuna should have healed that other boy. Maybe he should have bound Yuuji to him in more ways than just this soul connection. Maybe he should have made the boy love him.
It's too late for that now. Yuuji will never love him. But he doesn't have to. He will always belong to Sukuna, regardless. Sukuna doesn't even have to force him to become his. Yuuji is already Sukuna's and always will be. It's a fact. Just like the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
Whichever way you look at it, Yuuji was made for him. Made to offer this second life to Sukuna. And finally, Sukuna can see how precious this gift is that was handed to him.
He should have seen it sooner. Should have appreciated Yuuji sooner. But luckily, he can still change his ways. He can take care of what's his now. He can protect Yuuji and give him everything he needs. And maybe one day, if Sukuna is patient enough, Yuuji will grow to at least not despise him anymore.
Until then, Sukuna will find great amusement in Yuuji's passionate struggles. The King of Curses quite enjoys a little challenge. At least he won't get bored with that angry Prince by his side.
This time, after a thousand years, Sukuna won't be lonely on his throne.
Oh yes, he can see it clearly now. How they will rule this world together. Strong and beautiful and so terrifying. No one will ever dare call his Yuuji a thing again.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for reading! I got really angry when Kenjaku called Yuuji a thing, and it made me imagine how Sukuna would react. Would he see it as a personal insult? Would it maybe make him appreciate how perfect his vessel is? And that’s how this story idea was born. I hope you enjoyed it!! Please let me know what you think. Comments and reblogs make me happy!

I've seen an opinion about JJK that the story needs so much pointless death and unrealized potential because it is the point. That this is the world of JJK, cruel and killing off potential because of higher-ups indifference and carelessness with sorcerer's lives. That Gege did a brave thing by stepping out of the line of a typical shouen plot and made his characters suffer and die and pointed out the ridiculousness of adults making children fight for them.
And to all of that I say - I get it. But also I don't agree.
There is a significant difference between the potential in-universe and the potential of the characters. Sure, they overlap a lot, especially in series like JJK, but there is a difference. For example, both the characters and us have been thrilled with the unspoken potential of Megumi's "sacred treasure" and I'm pretty sure every single one of us went wild when he made his half-baked domain in S1. Also, he got Sukuna as his hypeman - it's hard to really top that in terms of potential. But when I say character potential, I don't mean only power scaling one - I mean what they could do in a story. And one of the best examples for me are The Twins. You know, the ones that try to bargain with Sukuna to kill off the Fake-Getou. And the quite pointless death of BOTH of them.
Their techniques personally interest me a lot but it's not even about that. Even if there is not that much space to explore with them cursed technique-wise, wouldn't it be so interesting if one of them got to live? Betrayed by every curse she turned for help to, alone in a raging Shibuya - forced to work with the School Gang? With their very differing opinions, with her wildly different perspective... Man, I'm not that good of a writer to figure it out on a fly. But there was potential there, a very interesting one, and wasting it isn't the nail on the coffin for Gege's story - but it does disappoint me, considering how hyped the story was for me beforehand. How much trust I put into Gege's writing.
And with the way things are going with Nanami, Nobara and, from what I've gathered from my partner's ashamed face when I mentioned my suspicions, Todou, this is no longer about power potential the characters had (although with Nobara it kinda still is). It's about how those deaths are hidden behind the smoke screen of theme and well, that's the cruelty of the world that tries to hide the balant shock-value of these deaths. Because back in season 1 Gojo already said it - that he knows killing higher-ups won't really solve anything. That it's about a new generation doing better, forcing a change others reject.
So why isn't this story about that? Why does it kill off THREE (?) characters for the sake of kicking Yuuji into dirt? Why does Mahito even require so many named deaths to establish... What exactly? That he's fucked up and immoral and direct opposite of Yuuji? That he can bring out the worst in him? I THINK I GOT THE POINT AFTER JUNPEI AND NANAMI, REALLY.
So, with the spoilers I have from the manga, I just feel like it's not quite right to call those deaths deserved because of the setting. Not when the story in S1 promised a change, a hopeful future set by the new generation.
And if that were never the main focus of the series, then I don't want to hear a single world about those deaths contributing to it because they are not.
Man, there is no one who wants to love JJK more than me and there is no one more heartbroken that I can't bring myself to do so anymore.

JJK au I can't bring myself to write in full. The events of the anime are tweaked, but they happened many hundreds of years ago, and yeah! it's a little long for a drabble but pls enjoy!
-
"I understand." Yuuji said, nodding slowly. Megumi frowned. He'd expected an outburst- yelling, crying, maybe even a fist or two flying at him.
This was not how he thought his husband would react to his sacrifice at all.
"Yuuji." He demanded. "What-"
"Megumi..." Yuuji said, his dry and cracked lips twisting into the smallest smile Megumi had ever seen from him. "Can you do something for me?"
Megumi panted, glancing back out at the battlefield before them. Who knows how much longer their forces could hold Sukuna off? He needed to do it. He needed to go out there and do it now. The words were on the tip of his tongue, and his fingers twitched, prepared to form fists.
And yet, he waited. Because his husband needed something for him, and when Megumi married him he promised to be a provider for Yuuji, first and foremost.
"What is it?" He asked.
Yuuji leaned forward instead of saying anything, and Megumi met him halfway. A final kiss. Even in the end, Yuuji was always thinking about him first. He remembered his whispered words in their marriage bed- remembered them as the first meaningful things he said that he did not have to recite over and over again to get right.
'If I should die, whether in a year or in a moment, whether in battle or in this very bed-- I want kissing your lips to be the last thing I do.'
Perhaps it wouldn't be the very last thing. No- the very last thing Megumi would do in this world, would be loving Yuuji. Right after killing the King of Curses, and avenging his possessed sister, whose heart still beat, but whose life had ended the second a curse had taken her over.
The kiss was bittersweet. He was sure all the sweetness came from Yuuji, himself. So he tried to pour in his passion, his love, his life force itself into the kiss, to make up for all the bitterness he'd tainted it with.
He got it all back in full.
"Tell Kugisaki and the others, that I'm sorry." He said when he pulled away. Megumi felt something within him, akin to a cord on a biwa, pull taught. "I won't make be able to cook them their victory feast after all."
The cord snapped.
"Yuuji--"
"I love you, Megumi." Yuuji said. Megumi's eyes widened. The last thing he saw was Yuuji's smile become wide and brilliant like it usually was, as a tear fell from one of his golden brown eyes.
He felt a sharp pain in the back of his head- and the image was taken away, replaced with darkness.
When he came to, hours later, it was to a red-eyed and frowning Kugisaki.
They met eyes, and no words were needed between them.
She helped him to his feet, and he sprinted towards the battlefield-
Only to find a wasteland in its place.
All the greenery from the grasses and trees and scattered bushes had been wiped out. The blue water of the river was nowhere to be seen. The redness of blood and purple of curse-bile was gone as if it had never existed. Everything around was grey or brown. Ash or dirt.
Not even the bodies remained.
"Gojo." He didn't bother with an honorific- didn't even think to. "What happened? Where's- Where's Yuuji?"
Gojo didn't answer. Didn't even turn to look at him.
"Oi." He said, his shaky breathing speeding up. "Oi, Gojo."
He walked around to force Gojo to face him- but he wasn't expecting what he found.
"Tsumiki?"
".. Megumi." She said weakly, reaching out to him. He immediately pulled her into an embrace, supporting her full weight and taking her out of Gojo's arms.
"How are you alive? Sister, I.." There was a gentle pressure against his arms, and he released Tsumiki just slightly when he realised it was her trying to pull back.
She took a moment to prepare herself to speak.
"I think.. I met.. Your husband." She said. "Th-the one.. You told me about..."
Megumi gasped. He had spoken to her while she was bedridden, but all their healers told him she wouldn't be able to understand him if she could hear him at all. For years he'd never said a word to his sister. Yuuji had been the one to speak to her, instead, and to convince him to do so as well. 'I know they say she cannot hear us,' he'd said. 'But if she could, well then she should know what she has to look forward to.'
"Yuuji." He said. "You met him- where is he?"
Tsumiki smiled sadly.
No...
"No." He hissed, ignoring the stinging in his eyes and snapping in his heart. "No, you cannot- he would not-"
"Megumi.."
"No! You cannot tell me my husband is dead! You cannot be saved, and alive, and back with me, just to tell me my husband is gone. You were- you two were supposed to be the ones to survive!"
"Megumi--"
"Give her to me." Gojo said.
"No, she is my sister-"
"She needs care. You need something else right now."
"You don't know what I need-"
"On the contrary, I believe I know exactly what you need." Gojo looked him in the eye, and it struck Megumi that he was no longer wearing his mask. The pain and grief in his sky-coloured eyes reminded Megumi of the end of a simpler time and beginning of a more complicated one. When he clutched to himself the body of a monk-dressed assassin he'd just killed and cried like it was his own family member who'd died.
Perhaps it had been.
"Yuuji is gone." He said, and Megumi made an inhuman sound of anger. "And you need to understand that. So go out there and look, and destroy what has not already been destroyed, and do what you will not in front of us. And when you return, we will be here."
Tsumiki reached out for Gojo, and he took her into his arms carefully, before walking off of the deserted field.
Megumi turned back, and did exactly that.
He scoured the entire decimated land for anything that survived.
And when that didn't work he followed the slow-burning fires and found only stray weapons and armour. And when that ended he followed the river as far as its reddened water went, finding only dead horses and useless tools. He kept following the river, long after it had turned blue one more- and found a tree that hadn't been there before.
It was bright and large, stretching well into the sky as if it were something that could cross realms. And though it was the end of winter, when all the snow and ice had melted to leave nothing beneath- this tree was flowering.
The blossoms were a familiar pink.
Megumi fell to his knees at the base of this great tree- and wept. He screamed his pain into the air it breathed, and claws the ground where its roots lay. Why did this happen to Yuuji? Why did he think Megumi could accept this? Could live with this pain? It was killing him. It would kill him.
Why, why, why?
It felt like days had passed by the time he rose to his feet once more. He had not slept, had not eaten, and had not stopped etching his grief into the world before him.
The tree was gone.
He stumbled back along the river, until he found the rotting horses. He followed the burned and blackened stumps of trees, until he found the destroyed once-battlefield. He walked until he reached the small war-tent illuminated by a much smaller fire.
And when he arrived there, he collapsed. Into the arms of his sister, his best friend, his mentor. But not into the arms of the one he craved to see the most. He wasn't surprised. But it hurt all the same.
Zenin Yuuji, his husband, his love, his life itself- was gone.
Megumi died years later, though he wished it was seconds. He fathered no heirs, and was only married once. His mentor attended his funeral. As did his sister. And his best friend. And the Clan he hated. And the family he did not.
They prayed for him to be reunited with his husband in death. He had prayed for this as well.
-
But he didn't expect it to happen like this.
"Excuse me." A woman said, trying to get past him. He moved on autopilot, unblocking the automatic doors of the konbini and putting an end to the alarm that sounded every time the door opened.
He payed none of it any mind. He couldn't-- not when Yuuji was right in front of him for the first time in hundreds of years.
He was across the street, walking casually. He wore a yellow hoodie, blue jeans and red runners, he had a pair of earphones with a cord in his ears, and much shorter hair than he did the last time Megumi had seen him. But it was the same pink and brown colour, and his eyes were the same gold and his lips were the same shape and it was him- it was Yuuji.
Despite being all the way across the street, Megumi took a step forward and opened his mouth, wanting to say something, anything that would get those golden eyes to rest on him once again.
But before he could, another figure was stepping up beside Yuuji, throwing an arm around his shoulders and ruffling his hair, blocking his view of his husband.
Pink hair, red eyes and dark birthmarks in places where black tattoos used to be.
Sukuna.
Megumi clenched his fists, cursing his powerlessness. If only he could still summon his trump card. He sighed.
Even if he could, he wouldn't. It would put Yuuji in danger. He just needed to wait for the walking light to come on, cross the street and then- and then he could look into the eyes of his husband once more.
He tapped his foot impatiently. When the red light for the oncoming cars went on, Megumi crossed without waiting.
Gojo remembered. He was a schoolteacher now, and his husband remembered, too. Nobara remembered. Maki remembered. Even his own father remembered, and he'd been drunk half the time in his old life.
There was no way Yuuji would be the one exception. There's no way fate can be that cruel. Sure, Sukuna was there, too, but Yuuji had always been forgiving. Maybe in this new life- maybe, maybe, maybe-
He caught up to Yuuji and Sukuna quick. They were stopped outside of a pachinko, of course they were, and talking to each other amicably. Megumi reached forward-
And his hand was slapped away.
"Welcome home, my boys."
A woman just shorter than Sukuna rested her hands on their shoulders. His view was blocked by the brothers'.
"Aren't you s'posed to say that when we actually come home? This is a cesspit."
"Shut up Suku-nii, you wish you could live here." His Yuuji said, voice as beautiful as the day he met him. Megumi's throat tightened. He wanted to reach out again-
But his hand wouldn't move.
"No fighting, boys. Go upstairs and wait for Mummy in there, please."
"Yeah, yeah." Sukuna said, dragging Yuuji inside.
And Megumi was powerless to stop them from leaving- as he came face to face with the woman with close-eyed smile, black hair and stitching across the forehead.
"Hello, Zenin-sama." She said, smile morphing into a sickening grin. "Do you- remember me?"

rizzless sukuna pt. 2 (find part 1 here!)
Part of an ongoing series basically now dedicated to @nessieartss and their jjk sibling au!!
Hope you guys enjoy awkward Sukuna as much as I do!
---
Fuck it. Let's do this, Sukuna says to himself as he crosses the courtyard to catch up with Megumi. There's a little voice in the back of his mind that's telling him that this is a stupid idea, what the hell is he doing. If this went poorly, Yuuji would never let him live it down.
Honestly, Sukuna wouldn't let himself live it down. He's never been one for dating; it's never really appealed to him.
It's never really been relevant. His own words ring in his mind. “Yeah, until now,” he mutters to himself.
It isn't until he's caught up with Megumi that he realizes he isn't even sure what to say. His feet had started moving in their own accord, carrying him across the way in long strides. Maki had said to simply 'ask him out', as if it's that simple, as if Sukuna didn't already mention that he's never done this before.
Yeah, he's definitely never asking Maki for advice ever again, and when this inevitably fails, he's absolutely blaming her for it.
“Hey, Fushiguro!”
Megumi looks up from his phone and his eyebrows raise in surprise when his gaze lands on Sukuna. He looks around, as if expecting someone else to be with him, but there’s no one. It’s only Sukuna, which increases his intrigue more.
“Oh, hey, Sukuna,” he greets, pocketing his phone. “Yuuji went that way.” His head jerks in the opposite direction.
The older boy gives a noncommittal hum. “Well, that’s cool, but I wanted to talk to you.”
Megumi arches an eyebrow curiously and stays quiet, waiting for Sukuna to continue. A long pause draws out between them; Sukuna realizes that his heartbeat has picked up and his palms feel clammy, his fingers fidgeting.
Am I nervous?
No. Sukuna shakes his head; he doesn't get nervous. He can be confident, arrogant, cocky, but never nervous. So then why are all of his thoughts a jumbled mess and he feels like an idiot with his mouth opening and closing like a fucking fish.
“Oh…kay, what about?” Megumi presses.
Clearing his throat, Sukuna eloquently responds with, “Uh—” He mentally facepalms himself, unable to ignore the way the corner of Megumi’s mouth quirks up in amusement. It makes his stomach do a summersault. “Do you like dates? Well how about a raisin—wait, fuck!”
Sukuna runs a hand through his hair and shakes his head, irritated with himself. He can’t help but glance at Megumi and sees Megumi's tucked his face into the collar of his school uniform. His shoulders shake with laughter, and in that moment, Sukuna wishes to cause mass destruction to escape the humiliation that engulfs his entire being.
He opens his mouth, about to demand Megumi to pretend this whole thing never happened—
“Did you just ask me on a date?” Megumi asks.
Relief floods Sukuna’s system and his shoulders sag. He swallows against the lump in his throat, and he huffs humorlessly. “Uh, yeah. Kinda? I meant to.”
Megumi is silent for another moment, eyeing Sukuna as he tries to see if the older boy is genuine or not. For once, Sukuna doesn't have anything to say, and he awkwardly scratches the back of his head. Maybe Sukuna should've prepared himself more before diving headfirst into this sort of situation; but when had Sukuna not been impulsive?
“Okay,” Megumi agrees, and Sukuna blinks, shaking his head a little.
“Wait, seriously?”
The shorter boy snorts. He pulls his phone from his pocket and taps on the screen. “Yeah. I'd have to be stupid not to say yes after that terrible attempt at a pickup line.”
Sukuna groans. When he looks back to Megumi, there's a hint of a smile on his face and he holds his phone out, telling Sukuna to put his number in. Sukuna grabs his own phone and hands it over so the two can exchange numbers.
“Are you free after school today?”
A hint of a smile comes to Sukuna's face. “Alright.”
Megumi thinks for a second before nodding. “Yeah, just text me where you want to meet up.”
They look at each other for a moment, Megumi shifting on his feet and Sukuna running a hand through his hair.
Megumi’s phone rings and they both jolt. He rolls his eyes when he sees who's calling and clicks the screen off. Looking back at Sukuna he says, “Gojo is wondering where I am, so I gotta go.”
“Oh, right, yeah.” Sukuna nods, returning Megumi’s wave goodbye.
“See you later, Date Man,” Megumi chuckles.
Sukuna lets the comment slide, too busy dwelling on the fact that he has his first ever date.
