Sunday Sentences
Okey dokey artichokeys let's do this - it's Sunday now and well i'm still up (of course world-class insomniac after all) and i've got a couple tags from the lovely @hgejfmw-hgejhsf & @priincebutt so i don't even hafta start us off ❤️
I think I typed the last word of my 'lil ACD signs all the books fic - gotta sign 'em all - unless I find I missed something when I go do the edits - well other than whatever I come up with for a dedication since I was a dummy and have Alex read it lol - so any thoughts on a good dedication to Alex for Henry's first book let me know ❤️
so here we go -
“I am truly sorry for her. Every time I think she can’t get worse, she proves me wrong, but I love her more than my own sister, so I’m stuck with her.” Athena shakes her head in faux disgust at her friend.
“It’s all good, and she is right. I’m more than happy to sign the book,” Alex extends his hand for it before continuing, “After all, I hear it’s quite the distinction to have both mine and Henry’s autographs.” He turns to the dedication page that he has turned to so many times and sees something he hasn’t seen before. There on the page is Henry’s signature, usurping some of the space he usually fills. He grabs the pen from his bag while laughing at the fact that, apparently, they are starting something new in this little book signing adventure. He reads Henry’s ‘Athena, hope this continues to bring you joy, and you get that other signature here you want’ with that ever-so-neat signature of his.
Alex looks up and sees both of them smile before Athena says, “Yeah, I know you generally like to fill the page on your own, or at least that’s what I hear, but I wanted something to distinguish mine. I hope you're okay with sharing the page with Henry.”
Alex thinks he’s more than okay sharing everything with Henry, so he’s more than happy to share this little thing, even though he knows it is something he won’t say to a stranger. Instead, he replies, “Of course, but you know that as soon as others find out this has happened, they’re all gonna want the same thing. But, you can be the one who starts the trend,” with a smile.
He signs the book with a quip about sharing his space and his signature in a large flourish. The girls giggle when they read it, and he remembers why he is still doing this a couple of years after the book first came out. He’s prepared to spend at least a bit of time talking with them as he’s come to find that he doesn’t mind some of these moments and has plenty of time to spare before his flight leaves.
That is not what happens as they stop giggling, and Athena speaks up, “Thanks so much for signing this; I am so happy right now. We’ll leave you to what you were doing. Thanks again.”
He’s ready to tell them they don’t have to rush off when Marcy pipes in, “What Athena means is we need to sit in a corner and squee like silly schoolgirls as we re-read those bits you boys have written there. You really do not need to be subjected to that – it’s just embarrassing, trust me.”
some no pressure tags❤️

I love the ambiguous ending of Alan Wake 2. This might be because I interpreted it optimistically, but the reveal that Alice is still around and has been the one helping Alan and Saga in the dark place was incredible after the despair of seeing her last video messages. and for that to lead to Alan (and the player) realizing it’s not a loop, but a spiral—that he’s not doomed to forever be trapped, but that he can rise out of this. This acknowledgment by Alan was the first step towards that ascension, rather than spiraling into further self-destruction. It might not have been a definite answer, but it was hopeful.
The Logan phone call cliffhanger was painful to end at, but for the same hopeful reasons and Saga having battled the dark place amplifying her existing doubts and anxieties, I’m choosing to believe Logan is safe! I still want more answers in the future, since multiple people are now in the dark place and characters like Mr. Door and Zane remain mysterious, but I like that this game wasn’t as clear as ’Alan escapes the dark place.’ It was an exploration of what the dark place is (to different people), being an artist, self-destruction and doubt, and so much more. Despite the first and second game both ending in the dark place, the journey and development the characters went through made a world of difference for what could possibly come next.

I just saw ANOTHER post lamenting this change, so I'm just gonna say "fuck it" and make a how to do the thing post, and if I'm misunderstanding the outrage... lol, this is tumblr, I'm sure someone will tell me.
Currently, if you want to go to a post in the middle of a reblog thread, you have to click the empty space in what I call the reblog header. The reblog header is the space that holds a user's name and reblog details, and on desktop, it turns a different color when you move your cursor over it. It's this space:
It doesn't change colors on mobile, obviously, because no cursor, but I think tapping is a little more intuitive on mobile anyway and afaik this particular thing has been this way here for a while now...? Whatever. Anyway, that's how you get to a mid-thread reblog!
(I actually do kinda like this new setup. It's not perfect, it can be annoying if someone's URL is long or if I accidentally click "Follow" instead of the header space. But overall, the space to click into a prior reblog is bigger now and I like that. I don't think I'll have to worry as much about mouse precision or drowsy coordination issues, which is nice. Maybe I'll be able to use the desktop version more.)
However, this means that in order to see "prev tags," you apparently have to click into the notes view and scroll until you find them. That's annoying for those who want to see them, and I can't blame anyone for being irritated. If you're new here you may be surprised to learn "prev tags" is fairly recent, so my recommendation (if you're looking for an alternative) is to put the actual tags from the user you're reblogging from, instead. This was normal prior to the "prev tags" trend if you wanted to share tags without screenshotting them, and it seems like tumblr has made it super easy now. The mobile app now automatically suggests the previous tags, and on desktop, they show up in a dropdown when you click to tag your post. Personally, I like to put "<-borrowing your tags bc funny" or "<-stole your tags for truth" or something right after, so I don't feel like I'm taking credit for someone else's phrasing. But either way, it's handy for your followers to be able to read the tags you liked without having to click to a different blog.
I'm hoping this particular change will be seen as useful after the rocky adjustment period is over.
All this being said, I personally like these particular changes, but I wish Tumblr would not roll out changes as rapidly as they seem to be recently. Either change everything at the same time or give it a rest, holy shlamoly! I stopped using Facebook because it seemed like every time I opened it, something was different, and it became jarring and uncomfortable to try to use. I'm starting to have a similar feeling about tumblr, and I don't like it.
