the marauders + lily and reg as mother mother songs because dear lord whenever i get a new hyperfixation there’s no doubt i’ll post about it! this is very hard because honestly a lot of their songs can describe more than one of them but these are just to who i think would fit them best!

james - arms tonite

this song represents the entire group a lot, but the reason this is james specifically is because of his love for lily and willingness to die for her and harry. it’s about his struggles as a parent and watching his son grow up without him, and watching his friends and the backstabbing rat go on with their lives in a new war that cost them their lives. how he’d love to see them all again. not me crying while writing this

remus - body

this song is one remus would listen to a lot, mostly because he could relate to it a ton. his lycanthropy gave him unwanted scars that he wished he could get rid of, and he hated them deeply. of course sirius decided to try and change that because he thought remus was beautiful, but body would forever be a song he’d listen to welp i cried again 

sirius - burning pile

arson obsessed sirius go brr, i was inspired to write this post because i was like “ah yes this is very much sirius”. reason #1 - fire!!! very much sirius. reason #2 - this is very much a “fuck it all” song. troubles being piled up, wanting to ditch all of them and let them burn...yeah, very sirius of mother mother to write

peter - ghosting

this song is usually taken as some sort of love song, but how about we twist that meaning a bit and make it jealous peter? he felt like a ghost around everyone else, isolated from the group. they all had a best friend within them...sirius and james, lily and remus...peter felt like a ghost. “and you don’t need meeeeeee”

lily - hayloft

okay so i love o my heart yall probably figured that out by now. you may think, siri how does this represent lily? well i’ll tell you how! this one focuses on her relationship with petunia. hayloft is about this forbidden love and this angry father motherfucker, but to lily this would be about petunia being this buzzkill dad trying to ruin what she doesn’t like, aka lily’s magic. also the guitar? ✨chef’s kiss✨

regulus - the drugs

OMG IT’S NOT FROM O MY HEART? yeah, this song is not only a bop but very much a regulus song. it’s about finding something better than a past trouble (reg saying fuck it voldy’s a shithead) and just kinda being done with shit at the same time. his sacrifice is like the deadliness of switching sides, but it was overall the best and right choice to make in the end.
