x-men game!

this project- now known as x-men: xcel- is officially being written and coded! this will be a continually updating game, with no 'full game' release at any point due to the fact this is a passion project and i believe this is easier for me.

the first release is looking like it will cover character creation and basic character/plot introductions. every subsequent update will be either every month or every couple of weeks, depending on how much progress is made.

i am taking suggestions on what could be in the game at this point in time! however i may not take every suggestion offered, so please be kind.

this is my first time using twine to create a game of this size and as such i do not consider myself a 'master coder' so if you have any HTML or twine skills then please dm me!

if you cannot code but still want to help then these options are available:

playtester (you will be sent smaller updates of the game weekly and you are to tell me any bugs/glitches, ooc moments or even confusing writing you find. if you do not send any feedback within a week then you will not be sent the next weeks progress.)

researcher (you will collect information in a concise way about the necessary characters/plotlines and send it to me)

writer (you will be helping me with writing the game itself, you will need to prove you can be committed to it and that you have the writing skills needed.)

Magneto back in the day vs now.

Transcript: The images show panels from Magneto (1993), suffering from seizures and headaches after using his powers. In comparison are two images of Magneto in X-Men Red (2022) #5 and #6, and one of Planet Size X-Men. Him, controlling the blood in his body to keep alive after getting his heart ripped out, being empowered by Storm in X-Men Red and moving the Kuiper Belt in PSXM.

The man aged well. He was such a baby mutant in the 1970s, '80s and 90s. So adorable. He definitely had his teenage years in the '90s tho. Got a hang of things. (I noticed his wiki page said headaches after using his powers are his weakness. HAHAHA No. Not anymore.)

Cyclops gets such a rough deal man. imagine having brain damage that caused you to uncontrollably shoot laser blasts out of your eyeballs destroying everything in sight that you had to worry about literally 24/7 and also you had to supervise teenagers throwing cars at each other because your father figure and his ex are taking leftist infighting to the streets and also on top of that whenever you show any amount of concern over this situation people are like "jeez what a buzzkill. loosen up control freak. why can't you be all chill and cool like wolverine" meanwhile wolverine is having his amygdala forcibly removed by the us military for the third time this month

X-Men: Red (2022) #7 Magneto Spoilers

I need to mention something about this scene in X-Men: Red #7. People have been telling me that this is such a Cherik moment. Oh, how romantic that Mags thinks of him here.

And I do not think they understood what is being said here so I will just drop my personal interpretation here (besides the clear statements).

Mags is not being romantic here. Mags WARNS Storm of Charles!! Because Charles is either getting himself or all of mutantkind killed because he wants to always be the better man, always be good. His dream is that mutantkind be nice and good so maybe others do not want to kill them. He wants to give mutantkind A VALUE. Meaning he will do anything so mutants seem important and others might even be dependent on them.

MAGNETO THINKS THERE WILL BE AN EVENT THAT WILL MAKE CHARLES MAKE HORRIBLE CHOICES THAT WILL TAKE HORRIBLE TURNS.

That is a warning to Storm. Storm has to watch what Charles does because that is what Mags did before leaving Krakoa. Because in the end ... Charles sees a very different picture of Krakoa and has a very different moral than Mags. And Charles' "being a good man" image will put mutants in severe danger.
