Here's a question for Weird Wednesday: is it socially awkward or off-putting if I ask someone what perfume they're wearing? I've always been sensitive to smells and my interest in fragrances has skyrocketed over the past few years. I don't buy a lot because the good ones tend to be so expensive, but I still like to know what I'm smelling when there's a fragrance I particularly enjoy, kind of like knowing the name of a plant or tree I don't recognize.
I remember asking a co-worker at my previous job and she seemed hesitant about responding, almost as if she thought I was going to try and steal her signature fragrance or something. (It was Lancôme). One of my current co-workers has the most delicious perfume I've ever smelled - seriously, it's like a delicate pastry with subtly spiced sugar and it wafts everywhere - and I still haven't asked her because I'm worried it'll seem invasive on my part.
I guess I don't have to know what it is, but that knowledge-seeking part of my brain keeps piping up every time I smell it. 🧐

Brief Ouija Experiment 1
I have been interested in using the ouija board as a tool for some time, however, I find using the planchette difficult when doing this alone. I have opted to use a pendulum instead, which gives good results it would seem.
Today I started the session without a banishing ritual- shock! Horror! My God how am I still alive? I did this because I wanted to see what was lingering around without any sort of influence from my magical work. I did call upon some guardian spirits for protection however (I am not completely stupid!) however this was only to intervene if necessary.
Contact came quite quickly, only had to ask three times. A woman called "Wallis Baker" came through she was born in 1853 and passed away in 1874. I asked her how she died and she stated "Doctor overdose" I asked if she meant a doctor gave her too much medication and she stated "Yes".
I then asked her if she had a message she wanted to impart and she stated, spelling mistakes included, "Exactally death is now not eventually. Notta way a woman likes talking."
There was shift in the atmosphere after this and I asked if she would like to go, she said yes. I asked if she went in peace, she replied yes. I bid her farewell.
One thing I didn't expect was spelling mistakes in the transmission. I assumed this sort of thing taps in to the unconscious of the person doing the channeling and so would tap into their use of language. I can certainly spell exactly and not a.
I did a quick google search and there is a Wallis Baker born in 1853. However, this person was born in Canada and I reside in the UK so question why she would come through. Also one must question how common such a name was at that time- I do not know the answer to that question, but Baker is a common surname of course. I could find nothing in terms of the cause of death.
I also don't really know what she meant by 'death is now, not eventually'. I wish she wanted to stay, but I didn't want to keep this thing there. Perhaps it means she is experiencing death, she experienced it too soon, or perhaps it is some metaphysical message that each moment is a small death inviting rebirth in each present breath. (This I doubt!)
Maybe it is just all subconscious vomit. Maybe it was an empty astral shell. Maybe a demon. Maybe a ghost. Maybe some form of invoked schizophrenia. I don't know. But I do know I will be experimenting further.

Have a pregnant male pipefish on this Wet Beast Wednesday. I'm not sure animals who live in water properly embody the pathetic spirit of the day, but I was soggy and frozen enough for both of us.
