During The Creative Block podcast Jaydeep Hasrajani & Jake Goldman mentioned that  the axed Netflix Animation series Boons and Curses is "not dead yet"

Hinting that they might gotten the rights back to pitch it to other outlets like Warner Bros Discovery for their new service WBD+ within Cartoon Network Studios or Warner Bros Animation units, Paramount for Paramount+ or Nickelodeon within the Nickelodeon Animation Studios, MTV Animation or CBS Animation Studios units and Disney for Disney+ within Disney Television Animation,20th Television Animation and Disney Europe Animation units.

ICYMI Boons And Curses is a comedy-action animated series hailing from creator and executive producer Jaydeep Hasrajani and series co-executive producer Jake Goldman

The series was planned to release this year however the project was cancelled amid a big purge of animation at Netflix Animation from mid-2021 to current.

The fact that the Warner Bros Discovery owned social media accounts posted about “Canon Baffy (Bugs/Daffy)” and grabbing tons of social media clout from it while SIMULTANEOUSLY cancelling almost every single animation project both announced and UNANNOUNCED and also REMOVING ANIMATION MEDIA FROM ITS STREAMING SERVICES FOREVER and then also QUIETLY AND PUBLICLY LAYING OFF PEOPLE is the reason I have hate in my heart for this industry.

Big companies hate people and don’t care about you or representation or anything at all except “easy profit wins.”

People can’t pay rent while doing hundred hour work weeks under CRUNCH (and ignoring that it’s crunch and pretending it’s not crunch because it doesn’t affect everyone just the people who aren’t the execs) but the companies are still saying “WE MADE RECORD PROFITS THESE LAST TWO YEARS!”

FYI: If someone in a big position of power says “everything is fine” but lower people on the company totem pole are vagueposting about not being able to afford things like, ya know, MEDICINE or RENT or GROCERIES … start asking yourself what the truth actually is.

Personally, I try to have a nuanced view on Piracy. I do believe in trying to support the original product and/or that there are times when it is more beneficial to purchase the original thing even if the big bad corporation gets my money. And I also believe that commiting Piracy purely on believing that doing so is "Doing Activism Better" than people who pay for the stuff is a bad way to approach things.

With that in mind: It is 100% moral and right to pirate HBO Max content. Not when they are finishing removing them from the service, either, but right now.

Because the people in charge have made it absolutely clear they dont give a shit about anything they have, that they disrespect literally everyone. Not just their audience, not just their content, but every person working for them as well.

Pirate their shows. Share them. Share the content they believed was worthless

And may they be the most pirated shows in the whole damn world. May HBO Max and everything Zaslav touched be burned to the ground. May everyone know that Zaslav poisoned the well and ruined any chances WBD had of recovery.
