Hi friends!! My teammate was playing some questionable songs at practice recently, and it made me think: who’s got the AUX but can’t get it quite right?
Bokuto is banned from adding any songs to the team playlist because they’re all SpyAir songs. Nothing wrong with the band, the random rock songs just clash with the team’s preferred RNB.
Sugawara’s songs always have to be skipped because it’s hard to play volleyball when half the team is singing and shaking ass (he is a barb therefore Nicki stays on their playlist).
Ushijima’s playlist consists solely of American country music, and the team CANNOT stand its grating sounds. They hate it when coach lets him play his music.
Hanamaki likes a lot of great artists, but he’s absolutely terrible at making and/or keeping a vibe. It could be a fast, upbeat practice and he’s playing Nico Touches the Walls. Or it’s pouring down rain outside and the artist of the day is Polkadot Stingray. The team can sometimes tolerate it, but Oikawa and Mattsun never let him hear the end of it.
Lastly, Atsumu loves his Mitski with his whole mind, body, and soul, and he makes it everybody’s problem, but it’s kind of hard to play volleyball with First Love/Late Spring making you sad :(
Bonus: Coach Ukai gets relentless whining and complaining from his team because he opts to play the Top 100 radio, but they can’t stand hearing OMG eight times a day.

the other itoshi; "let me be seen"
the third itoshi who chooses to play the setter position because of how seen it lets them feel. on the court, every nearly every play relies on the setter, forcing both teams to keep their eyes on them. for, no matter how unseen and abandoned they feel at home, they know that on the court, everyones eyes are on them.

okay, can the character be just from the marauders era?? because i'm curious what position would regulus play
also, hello there, dear one <33
my reflex response is to say setter, they need to be adaptable and need the ability to read what their teammates need easily, which I think regulus is able to do. and hello dear :)

i'm not really a big daisuga shipper but one detail i can't ignore every time i rewatch the first few episodes of haikyuu is the fact that daichi says to kageyama "for the rest of my time at karasuno, you won't be setter" when he's laying down the stakes for the 3-on-3 because i'm positive daichi knew that kageyama coming to karasuno meant that he'd instantly replace suga as their starting setter, and with this year being their last, daichi would obviously want to spend it with his friend on the court rather than on the sidelines and i just think that that's very sweet of him.

aight i'll bite. who rooms with who in your setters sitcom au
thank you.
akaashi and suga live together!! kenma lives in their building and also he spends more time in their apartment than his own (he hates his roommates). tbh this goes for all of them. kageyama goes to a different college than the rest of them and he lives on campus in the athlete dorms. oikawa and atsumu live in the athlete dorms on their campus. and just to clarify, oikawa and atsumu are not roommates. (but oh my god could you imagine)
and ykw i'll expand outside the "main" six for fun. shirabu and yahaba are roommates. yes, this is as disastrous as you'd expect. semi lives in an apartment with the other stz third years (tendou, ushijima, reon, yamagata). kogane lives with goshiki.

Okay but imagine a fanfic based on this "hinata being the sunshine everyone needs but Kageyama being the moonlight he needs."
Cuz hinata be collecting setters like pokemon but then kageyama is the ONE, the moonlight to his sunlight and they're just complementary like ahahhhhhh.
If you do take inspo from this and write a lil something tag me so that I can read it. lotsa love <3

i wanna rant about some of the setters real quick. so you know how oikawa, atsumu, and kageyama are all shown to use jump top spin (spike) serves? well, there’s a reason for that!!
typically, setters are the first to specialise in their positions, so they’re training and developing setter skills while everyone else is still doing all-around basics. but what happens, as a result of this, is setters end up having weaker arm swings or being awkward with their hand placement in hitting/serving. oikawa, atsumu, and kageyama are the only setters we see using jump top spins that have also been shown to be setting at a young age. i feel like oikawa had a beautiful standing float but had a low ball-back percentage due to how soft it was.
i’m thinking atsumu and kageyama both had weak and awkward arm swings and were taught jump top serves in their last year of middle school so they would have time to perfect the serve. i also think semi experienced this too but either wasn’t able to or didn’t want to perfect the jump top on such short notice, hence why shirabu plays, despite having the firmer hands; he has the better serve.
this also shows us which setters have the best hands!! setters who have weaker serves tend to have the better hands, whereas setters with strong serves usually don’t have as-good hands; it’s all in the wrists.
