yet again, if you’re not listening you’re missing out on some great darkwave ebm synth pop tunes.
heavy synth usage, eerie vocals, danceable
recommend songs: LA, face the fire, yr body is nothing
The Palest Grey
the palest grey’s debut album Always Haunted is a callback to the original, traditional gothic sound.
if you like christian death, this is for you.
genuinely spooky music, with eerie and mournful vocals
i love: in this room, suicide, uhh the whole album
Thanks for taking the time to read of all this. These are 10 of my favorite contemporary goth bands at the moment, and i hope you found something you like to add to your arsenal!! if you have recommendations for me or want to talk about goth subculture send me an ask or leave a comment :)

June 24, 2023 Athfest - Vision Video/Tears for the Dyinh/Pylon 🦇 That was a pretty fun night. We got to walk around Athens, GA while they’re were holding Athfest, a festival showcasing local talent in music and art. Got to support some local artisans, listen to live tunes and end the night with a special goth night featuring 3 of Athens own gothic music, post-punk and death rock. One of my buddies ended up getting so drunk he ran away and found him eating Waffle House with some random people lol Athens… you never know what you’ll get into in that crazy town but what I do know is they have a killer goth scene.
all our blood is running over while we're drowning in the streets
as they say don't look, close your eyes, make believe that everything's alright
don't look, close your eyes, these atrocities are normalized
I know I literally only post Andy and Star Trek but I'm also occasionally goth and I do need to post this Category 5 Liz Event that happened last night.
Goth Dad of internet fame broke a string at the beginning of their set, as he was fixing it the band was trying to cover the awkwardness with small talk and a simple instrumental of Bela Lugosi's Dead. Eventually Emily said "does anyone actually know the words to this song?" and I, already full of one cocktail, volunteered.
It was pretty nuts. I've never done anything remotely like this except for to myself in the mirror while doing my makeup so that's probably enough practice for a live performance I guess lmfaoooo
My band recently played a few shows opening for Vision Video and Tears for the Dying. As usual, I took many photos at both the Tampa and Orlando shows. Here are some of my favorites.
