Owlcatober 22. Nobility
“If it isn’t the Commander’s conman consort.” Daeran stood rod-stiff with both arms folded across his chest and his venom-green eyes flashing. “Honestly I’m not certain whether I’m more furious with you or with myself, to have been quite so easily hoodwinked.”
“Uh…” Woljif’s tail darted in time with his mind. Is this about that bottle of wine? The ruby cufflinks? The maps? The cut of the fake investment scheme? His eyes were wide with total innocence. “What about?”
“’Oh Count, I need a nice outfit to sit on the Knight-Commander’s council,’” Daeran mocked. “To sit on the Knight-Commander’s c—”
“Hold on, you’re mad about that?”
“I’m positively outraged!”
“But—” Woljif blinked. There were so many other things to be outraged-er about.
Daeran flipped a blond lock from his face. “That you didn’t confide in me! You could have told me it was a bid to seduce our brave and beloved bard.”
“You’re jokin’, right? You woulda laughed me outta town.”
“Touché. But I am nonetheless wounded.” Daeran stormed over to the drinks cabinet, poured himself a glass of wine and threw himself gracefully across a divan. “I’m taking credit, I’ll have you know. He did like the outfit, didn’t he?”
At the memory of Siavash’s eyes wandering down his chest – Is that a new shirt? It looks like silk – Woljif felt a flood of treacherous heat in his cheeks and pretended to search for something non-alcoholic among the Count’s bottles until it cooled down. “I guess.”
“You are so deeply in my debt you’ll require a potion of water-breathing.” It sounded like a threat. Daeran leaned forward on the divan, fixing him with a gaze of bright green shards. “Did he rip it from your trembling frame?”
“No!” Now it was Woljif’s turn to be outraged. “It cost a damn fortune.”
“Tsk. My dear Prince, you have so much to learn. Seductive apparel is meant to be ripped.”
“Really? When you got that much money, you just let people tear up your nice clothes?”
“I don’t let them, I enthusiastically encourage it! If any garment of mine did not simply cry out to be torn from my body I should be mortified.”
“Oh yeah?” It was purely academic interest that drew his gaze to Daeran’s ruffled powder-blue shirt, he would have sworn. This time Woljif didn’t catch the flush in time and had to feign a coughing fit.
“Please tell me you ripped his clothes at least,” Daeran said as soon as the fit passed.
Woljif narrowed his eyes, suspecting he was being mocked but grappling with certain doubts. Was that how you were supposed to do it? Had he messed up on some lovemaking ritual known only to the upper crust of society, and the chief was back there at the Citadel in his intact shirt feeling disappointed? Or was that just for toffs who rolled around in so much cash they didn’t know what to do with it except trash expensive stuff? Nah, more likely the Count was having a go.
He shrugged one shoulder and affected an air of confidence. “We weren’t in a rippin’ sorta mood.”
At that Daeran’s eyes lit up, though he sat very still as if to avoid scaring him off. “I see. What sort of mood was it, then? Shy, virginal probing? Frantic fumbling? And tell me, in the moment—la petite mort—is it chief? Knight-Commander? Or something soft, perhaps. Dove? Kitten?”
“I know what you’re doin’,” Woljif scoffed, moving toward the door. “And I ain’t that easy.”
“No. Stay right there or so help me. We are engaged in a game of riposte, you and I, and I believe I recall that you have made a solemn vow never to run away again.”
“Not to you.” But the Count was right about one thing. Woljif was desperate to tease from him the secrets of seduction, while he knew very well how dangerous Daeran could become when on the trail of entertainment, in this case apparently a play-by-play of his night with the chief.
“Yet you had best concoct some way to repay me or I promise you that you’ll regret it, my timorous tiefling.”
Woljif didn’t doubt he meant it. He stopped halfway to the door, calculating. Give a little, invite the obvious attack, and get the enemy to open up. “Fine. It was a romantic mood. Happy?”
Daeran certainly looked on the verge of happiness. “I’m afraid that’s too vague, my friend. Tender, trembling touches? Significant sighs? Longing looks?”
He made it sound like one of those dog-eared novels the chief kept on his nightstand, but in truth Woljif had to admit he kind of hit it on the head there, at least in some ways. He parried with “Is that so bad?”
“Oh, certainly not. Comically maudlin, but then what did I expect from Knight-Commander Butterflies?”
Despite the mockery, at the word “comically” Woljif’s brain went straight back to that night, to himself and Siavash tangled in the sheets together laughing until they cried, and it was too late to stop the huge, dopey grin that crept up and pounced on him.
“Aha.” Daeran pointed his wine glass and grinned triumphantly.
Woljif was going to have to concede defeat, but as he departed from the Count’s chambers he felt satisfied that while he’d learned little from the verbal sparring, he at least felt far surer that he hadn’t messed up with the chief. On the contrary. It might not have been the sophisticated clothes-rending dance of seduction the likes of Daeran and his dandies engaged in, but it suited him and the chief just fine. He could get everything he needed from those novels. Well, except maybe for more advice on rippable princely apparel.

[VoA is US State Media]
The White House said Thursday that it would accept the results of Indonesia’s presidential election in which Prabowo Subianto, a former army general who for more than a decade was banned from entering the United States because of allegations linked to human rights abuses, has claimed victory.[...]
In 2020, the Trump administration dropped the de facto ban on Prabowo’s entry into the United States that was imposed over accusations of human rights abuses, including the abduction and torture of pro-democracy activists during the 1998 ouster of his then- father-in-law, President Suharto, and involvement with military crimes in East Timor.
Prabowo denies the allegations and has never been formally charged.
Pressed by VOA on whether the Biden administration was comfortable with Prabowo’s track record, Kirby underscored that human rights have been “the very foundation” of Biden's foreign policy.[...]
Jokowi defeated Prabowo in previous elections, but this year signaled support for his former rival through his eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, 36, who ran with Prabowo as vice president.
Gibran was able to join Prabowo’s ticket only after the country’s constitutional court created an exception to a rule that candidates must be at least 40 years old. That fueled criticism that Jokowi was trying to create a political dynasty in the world’s third-largest democracy.
Those concerns will largely be overlooked by Washington, considering Indonesia’s pivotal role in the U.S. geopolitical contest for influence with China and international efforts to mitigate climate change. Indonesia is the biggest exporter of coal and claims the world’s biggest reserves of nickel, a key component of electric car batteries.
“If the results show a Prabowo victory next month, then I would expect the U.S. to treat Minister Prabowo the same way that it treated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he was elected in 2014, waiving any remaining restrictions on engagement with him,” Aaron Connelly, research fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, told VOA.[...]
Just as with India, which Washington sees as a counterweight to China, the United States is keen to foster closer ties with Indonesia, home to the largest Muslim population in the world and an important voice of the Global South.
For months, Jakarta and Washington have been discussing a potential minerals partnership aimed at facilitating nickel trade. Indonesia's nickel mining and refining industry has been largely dependent on investment from Chinese companies and besieged by environmental concerns

Kantina Matak, the vibrant presidential cafe serving up 500 free meals a day to neighbourhood kids in Timor Leste’s capital, Dili, is characteristically lively when I sit down for lunch with Bella Galhos. It is a liveliness matched by Galhos, 51 and with an aura that draws you in.
Only three when Indonesia invaded, Galhos was exposed to the violence of the military from an early age, and it was in her teenage years she situated this violence in its broader political context — leading her down a path of activism. A survivor of the Santa Cruz massacre in November 1991, she hatched a plan of escape, and via an exchange program in Canada she relocated — beginning a tireless five-year solidarity building campaign.
In Canada, Bella’s personal experiences served as a testimony emblematic of life under Indonesian occupation in Timor-Leste. A compelling and charismatic speaker, she became a potent symbol within and of the international solidarity movement, connecting and inspiring a wide network.
Amongst her initiatives since returning in 1999, following independence, are the Leubrora Green School in Maubisse that teaches children sustainable agricultural practices and good nutrition, a women’s cooperative farming group and flower garden, and the Kantina Matak where we are sitting, employing and serving as a safe space for LGBT community members. She is serving her second term as presidential advisor, this time to Jose Ramos Horta — a role she loves, and describes as “a bridge between the people and the president”.
Her organisation Arcoiris (Rainbow) Timor-Leste offers shelter for members suffering violent situations, a place that “stands and defends the rights of the LGBT community in Timor-Leste”.
“Not only do they need the shelter, but also they want to feel secure. So, whenever they come to my compound, they feel secure. By giving the people a chance, opportunity and resources without looking at who they are.”
With first-hand experience, Bella is well-situated for this work; “one of my struggles was recognising who I am”.
“When I came out it was a process of being vilified over and over again, falling down on my knees … I was meant to be a minister in the government but because of my sexual orientation I was removed. My own family, my own brothers have tried to kill me … but it hasn’t stopped me.
“Young LGBT that I help care for are struggling to be accepted, loved, cared, protected, or invested in by their own family …They experience hardship, physical abuses, sexual abuses, abandonment, they drop out from school because they cannot handle the bullies, not only by their classmates, but also by their teachers who are not understanding and have no background whatsoever or no knowledge of what LGBT is. I think people really justify their homophobia and action against LGBT people by coming out with their own theory saying: Why you turn yourself to be this? Why can’t you just be a normal woman? Why can’t you just be a normal man? Why are you against God's will?”
Bella identifies the Catholic Church as a powerful institution perpetuating patriarchal ideals, and she makes a point of their hypocrisy.
“Why can’t we talk about priests who abuse children in convents, or uncles, fathers and brothers who ruin their own family? Instead you choose to talk about LGBT.”
In a country that is 98% Catholic, where churches dot the hills and priests hold prominent sway, being an LGBT activist is hard. “I risk a lot for saying what I say and doing what I do. But I always believe that a struggle, any struggle, whatever it is, whatever time it is or where it is, somebody needs to start it.
“Being an activist is a privilege, and it is my responsibility of speaking out for others.”
Inevitably, this has drawn the ire of the church, Bella tells me. “One time there was a huge public letter coming out from the Church about me because they know I was the one that was the voice of dissent. They claimed [in the letter] that [they] supported the LGBT community, [and] are only against [people choosing their] sexual orientation.”
There is a challenge in the tension; both staunch public activist and sensitive individual, caring deeply about others.
“The way people look at you, [you] already know that you do not belong there … I am always ready to be crushed and screened out … I fight my way forward even though sometimes it’s hard.”
Laughter comes easy around Bella, and her answers are splashed with colourful anecdotes and allegories. Asked what progress has been made 24 years on from the vote for independence, she likens the government to getting ready for a party where “you don't know which clothes to put on first. If you want to put your pants on first or your underwear. So I think that's what we need to be putting in place, things in sequences, you know, we should not go to the sky first, start with the earth.
“We cannot keep on using the excuse ‘new country’ as a way of saying it's okay to make mistakes … We cannot keep running the country by just turning on our Petroleum Fund. That is for me very worrying.”
“More than 20 years putting money into all these key sectors but we have not seen the results, we need to see the result and if the result is not seen it means that we are wrong in how we are investing it … we are already getting at least two or three generations that almost have no future to hold on to and most of them are already taking off and the younger ones are also hoping to get out and that's not a good sense of staying in the country to feel and to see what is going on here.”
The valorisation of veterans in a country where resistance leaders are constitutionally enshrined as “national heroes” often comes at the cost of everyday people in the sharing of power.
“Today we are still talking about veterans, all about veterans. Basically the country's owned by the veterans and the veterans are putting all the money into the older people and we forgot to bring money to the younger people, the future of the country, the future leaders of the country, and that’s worrying.”
It’s a dynamic that means the same faces have been in power since independence, and Bella references corruption as a feature of this ruling elite. Timor-Leste rated, in 2022, as having the highest hunger and malnutrition in Southeast Asia, according the global hunger index — a statistic that sits oddly with the US$19 billion sitting in Timor’s Petroleum Fund.
“Development is going at a snail’s pace because the government is too busy distributing power among people who actually don’t have the ability to work or serve the public. These people claim, ‘I did this, I did that, I lost my family, I was with you, I suffered the most, so I deserve to be a minister.’ It’s still like that.
“We are still pleasing each other by providing each other jobs — you know, to make people happy, make followers happy. And the majority of people are suffering because this is not what they were promised when campaigning is taking place.”
Bella believes a possible pathway forward would allow the mixing of “the younger generation into the process of developing the country”.
“Over 60% [of the population] is young. They should be prioritised. They should be dignified. By giving them space, their voice should be heard, should be counted.”
This sort of people-driven participatory philosophy underpins Bella’s outlook: “The priority, the centre of all development should be people, people, people and people means you don't see the classes that you don't see the categories; it’s the people. And first you have to get them involved, not just use them when you need the vote but [so that] their voices can actually be heard and counted in the program.”
What next for Bella? Energetic, with a life loaded with experiences, maybe a presidential run? “Winning or not, I don’t care. I just want to challenge the norms.”

"Tell me, what pattern did the Weave craft for you?”
Tumblr media
You were an eidolon of Plathis—a true Bon Vivant of business and magic. You were heralded as the second-most influential karcist in the cosmopolitan city of Madras. The Weave had given you everything you needed to succeed in this world, including a pattern of great magical prowess belonging to an elder titan, Mors.
Anybody, everybody, and even nobodies adored you.
And then, the Weave severed itself from you a day after the New Year. The power of your pattern had been so great it began to consume itself. It began to destroy you. With your diagnosis revealed, your cennend sent you to an arcane rehabilitation center. Your friends were silent, and your siblings distant.
For six months, Madras moved on without you. New secrets and alliances have formed. But you were an eidolon. So how do you intend to take back your city, Skipper?
Tumblr media
Customize your Skipper. Customization will include Pronouns, Appearance, Persona, and Demeanor.
Skipper's Appearance options will be limited due to narrative reasons.
Skipper's Persona reflects your dominant personality traits. There will be 3 options (blue, purple, and red) that passively reflect trends in your gameplay and change how Skipper behaves throughout the narrative.
Skipper's Demeanor reflects the combination of your Persona and dialogue/gameplay choices. Your choices will be informed by several stats, Versus-style (i.e., Stoic vs. Expressive).
Build or damage your Skipper's Reputation (i.e., Influence vs. Irrelevance), which will change how Madras and its denizens respond to your narrative choices, both socially and magically.
Juggle your Skipper's overarching narrative through the Concurrent Storyline System, which will open new opportunities for success or failure.
Reconnect with your siblings and fight against your cennend's cruel intentions together, or belittle and berate them while maintaining your cennend's violent Legacy.
Interact with an exciting cast of karcists and creatures. Befriend or romance a select few highly sought-after individuals. But remember, you won't be the only one who benefits from these bonds.
Tumblr media
Timor Kilic Fram the Fourth (They/Them) -> Your cennend. Ruthless and luxurious, Timor has only ever wanted to ensure the success of the Fram Legacy.
Margan Shyamal (They/Them) -> Your eldest sibling. As a Magistrate of Madras, they are often bogged down by many responsibilities. But Margan will always make time for you.
Bellus & Boreal Csintalan (She/Her & He/Him) -> Your younger siblings. They're twins with very different passions, strengths, and weaknesses. With you being Timor's favorite, they can make as many mistakes as they want without fear.
Kieran Zayin (They/She/He) -> Your very real yet fake betrothed. Kieran's reputation is infamy, even with their modest success as an author. You met her at University when the tabloids labeled her a flirtatious scoundrel. Kieran proposed to you because he considers you his best friend, and even if you disagree, he's your oldest non-familial friend. Hopefully, you can still make it to the altar by the end of this year.
Gilder Vernall (She/They) -> Your first and most successful investment. Owns a business called Gilder's Plithers, a name she's incredibly proud of. Gilder's a closed-off workaholic, so few have gotten close to her. Yet ever since you've decided to give their business a chance, they've also been adamant about your own personal growth. Try not to let her down again, yeah?
Ilian Ikan (He/They) -> Your bodyguard. Massive and defiant, Ilian is an absolute bastard of a Ghoul. There's very little you know about them other than that Margan trusts Ilian to watch over you. But the real question is: can Ilian trust you?
And many, many more to be seen throughout the game...

Hi! Absolutely love your school quiz (I got Life btw which is me to an absolute tee) and I just wanted to know if you'd consider publishing all the results since I'm a curious bean and want to know what the other school results are 😅
(link to quiz) (i recommend others take the quiz because this has spoilers for the answers)
hello anon,
I figured out how to log back into Uquiz because of this ask.
and hooo boy. some stats. first off: I made the quiz 2 years ago. god, i was 19. innocent, a darling, a babe in the woods. uncancelled, free.
Grand Total of quiz takers: 1,326! buncha nerds! many of them are myth wizards, apparently!
Tumblr media
Now here are your Answers for the Quiz!
STORM:
“That which can be imagined, can be achieved.”- School Motto, Wizard101
Storm wizards, known as Diviners, are creative and strong willed, though easily distracted at times. They have a tendency to be dramatic, but that makes them even more fun as companions. They are electric, and powerful, and wonderful people. They are diverse in their interests, but all follow the same motto of achievement, of having a concrete object to show their progress as wizards.
ICE:
“… with Persistence, Victory is assured.”- School Motto, Wizard101
Ice wizards, also known as thaumaturges, are intelligent. They can become perfectionists, and can be almost too self sacrificial in their role. They can be unyielding, not changing their ways in this deep need to be right. Their closed off and curt nature leads to an isolation. To melt the walls around an ice wizard's heart, to be let in to those deep emotions and memories, is something rare and to be cherished.
FIRE:
“If the Mind is like a candle, the Heart is like the sun.”- School Motto, Wizard101
Fire wizards, or Pyromancers, are passionate and wild, impulsive. They rush in on instinct as opposed to what logic would dictate. They are, down to their core, good. They are trying their best, even if it means they burn out. Their passion can manifest in a number of ways, many detrimental, but having a network of friends to anchor them can lead to a very powerful leader.
DEATH:
“Timor mortis conturbat me.” (The Fear of Death Confounds Me)- School Motto, Wizard101
Death wizards (necromancers), are morbid and fond of dark humor, as long as it doesn't make light of the tragedy of their school. They have a hard time connecting with other schools of wizards, because of their personality, but also the fundamental understanding of the Spiral that they cannot share.
MYTH:
“To control the Future, one must look to the Past.”-School Motto, Wizard101
Myth wizards, Conjurers, are very control driven. They are imaginative and have a deep investment in history, whether mythological or human, and they try to learn from the past as best they can, because the cyclical nature of time vexes them the most of any school. They can also have visions of the past, present, and future, through many different mediums, but most of all through dreams.
LIFE:
"As we have been Created, so must we Create."-School Motto, Wizard101
Life wizards, Theurgists, are kind people. Their magic derives from the body, keeping themself and others whole. They can be almost parental at times in their protectiveness, though they tend to feel helpless in the face of grave danger, only able to pick up the pieces and heal afterwards. When only around other life wizards, they can become vicious and competitive in their usefulness, a secret hierarchy few outsiders know of.
BALANCE:
“Eye of Newt, and Toe of Frog, Wool of Bat, and Tongue of Dog.”- School Motto, Wizard101
Balance Wizards, Sorcerers, do not draw upon magic in the traditional sense of the other six main schools of Ravenwood. There is no internal or external draw, but from the magic itself, the elements of each school understood in such ways that they may become one whole. The most flexible of the schools, they meditate and try to understand many things other take for granted. This may lead to an almost condescending view of other wizards at times, for they are never willing to understand the balance of the Spiral.
STAR:
“Your path is illuminated by the light Yet darkness lets the stars shine bright.” ~J.L.W. Brooks (School Motto)
Star wizards specialize in auras, enhancing their own magic in order to more effectively defeat their foe. While an accessory school in game, it is believed that they are prone to distraction, fond of glitter, and rather giggly at times. They can be vicious, can fight as well as the next wizard. They will fight until the end, until the last star dies out, and even they will not know when that is, and they will not stop.
SUN:
“The strength of the Sun will show our inherent capacity for truth and transformation.”-School Motto, Wizard101
Sun Wizards are primarily leaders, an excellent figurehead and rallying point for others. Their magic is used to enhance their spells in battle, enchanting or mutating the inherent magic in the spell cards for just one encounter. These wizards do not crumble under pressure as others may, they are strong and inherently hold onto that strength in order to guide and pull their allies through to the other side of a difficult situation.
MOON:
“The moon is a transformation that shows where change is necessary.”-School Motto, Wizard101
Moon Wizards use their magic to polymorph into other creatures or beings, changing their spell deck and statistics mid-battle. They must have a strong sense of self and grasp upon their own identity in order to continue to utilize these magics and remain who they were originally when they polymorph back. They have so many secrets they fear sharing, but when they do it is the ultimate form of their trust, and they bond with friends for life.
SHADOW:
"It is unstable and difficult to control." Wizard101.com on Shadow magic.
Shadow wizards are few and far between. The backlash the magic inflicts upon its wizards is difficult and painful, but a fair way to rebalance the Spiral after using this reality bending, strange magic. Shadow wizards are capable of great things, but in that greatness, there is no indication whether it shall be for the good or the harm of the worlds and peoples of the Spiral.

Do you think portugal and spain have a favorite child?????
Hummm let’s see…🤔
The closest thing to a favorite child nowadays for Portugal is Timor Leste. He’s the baby of the family and Afonso kinda feels guilty for not paying attention to him for most of the boy’s life, and now he’s able to actually have a act more like a father to him. Although, in terms of personality he’s more closest to Cabo Verde
Spain always denies having a favorite child but he will raise hell if anyone speaks something about Cuba who he ignored for most of his life and used as bargains against France or England
Just kidding hahahah
I believe that for a looooong time Mexico was the apple of his eyes, the beloved heir who he spent so much time investing in his education than the tramp England has at north, but the independence wars definitely have shaken things up and now the two of them have a okay relationship that they trying to improve (key word: trying).
Peru would probably came in second place, the boy pretty much inherited Antonio’s slyness, a natural born politician and was the one who best managed things while he was away, but of course, Don Antonio could never forgive that Miguel was smart enough to see that they were better off without his decadent colonial father on their backs
Ahhhhh but don’t worry. At the end of the day these two old farts will always pestering their children with happy birthday messages at the worst time possible and sending this kinda of thing in family group chats:

Why Is the Philippines the Best Country for Investments in Southeast Asia?
With the higher prices of commodities and a pessimistic outlook on the global economy and the larger economies of countries such as the U.S. and the UK, Southeast Asian countries are on the rise as great alternatives of investment for investors to turn to.
Southeast Asia (SEA) composes of 11 countries namely: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. These countries are known for their dynamic and friendly economies, strong consumer spending, and rich natural resources and destinations.
With the easing of pandemic restrictions, many of these countries have jumpstarted their economies, mainly driven by increased consumer spending and tourism.

News from Namibia, 21 July
The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism in Namibia has issued an Environmental Clearance Certificate to Recon Africa for further oil and gas exploration in the Kavango Basin, despite controversy over the potential negative impact on the environment.
The approval of the certificate was done in accordance with national laws and regulations, ensuring that the project meets environmental standards and mitigates its impact.
Namibia recognizes the importance of balancing its energy sector development with its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change, and believes that the oil and gas industry can coexist with these goals.
2. The National Council has approved a bill that will bring poultry, pork, and dairy products under the same regulatory authority as meat in Namibia.
The amendments to the Meat Industry Act will allow the Livestock and Livestock Products Board to effectively manage the importation of dairy, pork, and poultry products and address legal challenges faced in the past.
The inclusion of poultry and dairy in the bill will benefit local producers and consumers by regulating these subsectors and leveraging the expertise and resources of the existing Meat Board.
3. The UK is implementing visa requirements on visitors from Namibia and four other nations over what it claims are concerns about abuse in the migration system, particularly through citizenship by investment schemes and fraudulent asylum claims.
Namibia and Honduras rank highest among non-visa nationals for asylum claims, contributing to operational pressures and diverting resources from other priorities.
The UK government's crackdown on migrants attempting to claim asylum includes the Illegal Migration Bill, which has faced criticism from UN human rights officials for potentially violating international law.

IN FRANCIA È ESPLOSA LA GUERRA TRA RAZZE – IL PAESE È NEL CAOS TOTALE DOPO LA MORTE DEL 17ENNE NAEL, UCCISO MARTEDÌ A NANTERRE DA UN POLIZIOTTO – LA PROCURA HA CHIESTO L’ARRESTO DELL’AGENTE, E INTANTO LE BANLIEUE DI PARIGI SONO IN FIAMME – È STATO ATTACCATO ANCHE UN CARCERE DI MASSIMA SICUREZZA, A FRESNES, VICINO ALLA CAPITALE – A SOLLEVARSI, SONO GLI ABITANTI DELLE ESTREME PERIFERIE, SPESSO IMMIGRATI DI SECONDA GENERAZIONE, DI ORIGINI MAGHREBINE… -
FRANCIA:DURANTE PROTESTE ATTACCATO CARCERE MASSIMA SICUREZZA
FRANCIA: MACRON DENUNCIA 'VIOLENZE INGIUSTIFICABILI'

India and 159 Other Nations Lose Their Ability to Enter Indonesia without a Visa
In a significant policy change, travelers planning a visit to Indonesia will now be required to obtain a visa. The Indonesian government has recently suspended the visa-free entry privilege for 159 countries, including India, as a measure to ensure public order and mitigate the risk of disease transmission from non-WHO-certified nations.
Visa-Free Travel Suspended for 159 Countries, Including India
The Ministry of Law and Human Rights, in accordance with concerns over public order disruptions and the potential health risks, has issued an order to halt visa-free travel to Indonesia. This decision aims to address the need for strict regulation and control over incoming visitors. Consequently, the number of policy recipients has been reset to align with this new regulation.
Exceptions for ASEAN Member Nations
It's important to note that the ASEAN member nations, which include Brunei, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, are exempt from this visa requirement. Nationals from these countries only need a valid passport and a confirmed flight out of Indonesia to enjoy a stay of up to 30 days. However, should they wish to extend their stay, they have the option of selecting from the various immigration visas available, such as e-VOA (Electronic Visa on Arrival), Visit Visa, or Limited Stay Visa, as reported by Bali Times.
Visa Application Process for Non-ASEAN Nations
For travelers hailing from the 159 countries not exempt from the visa requirement, a visa application is mandatory before their arrival in Indonesia. These countries, as listed by Kompas.com, include Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Czech Republic, Chad, Chile, Denmark, Dominica, Ecuador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Iceland, and many more.
Exploring the Beauty of Indonesia
Despite the changes in visa requirements, Indonesia remains a welcoming destination for travelers from all over the world, offering an abundance of stunning islands to explore. Whether it's a romantic honeymoon in Bali or the bustling urban experience in Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Southeast Asia has much to offer.
Visas for Digital Nomads and Property Investors
Indonesia also caters to digital nomads seeking to establish a residence in Bali. Additionally, the government has announced a golden visa program designed for individuals interested in investing in the country through property ownership. This program provides an opportunity for those who wish to contribute to Indonesia's growth and development through long-term investments.
Conclusion
With the recent visa policy changes, it is essential for travelers to familiarize themselves with the new regulations before planning a visit to Indonesia. While the visa-free entry privilege has been suspended for most nations, including India, the country continues to welcome visitors from around the world, offering diverse experiences and opportunities to explore its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
