The Astrology of Yoosung Kim
So, this is the start of a series of posts where I analyze the charts of the mystic messenger character bc astrology and mysme invade my brain and its rly good practice to nail the concepts down. I'll be going thru each placement explaining what it means as best I can, hopefully providing a good picture of what astrology tells us about their life.
This is not rly designed to be accurate for each character. I won't be using headcanonned placements, but the actual chart that comes out when I input their birth date and place into a chart software (which is astro.com). I think one of the coolest things abt this lil project is when the chart Does end up being accurate with the events of their life or the game.
Let me explain for a minute how I determined the year they were born: I did it by subtracting their INTERNATIONAL age (which is the age they'd turn the year the game takes place, as its always one more than their korean age) with 2016, which is the year the game was launched and thus the earliest year it could take place in... we don't have a year and I needed a reference. I had to make do.
ALSO disclaimer: I'm not an expert or a professional of astrology. Just someone who's into it a little too much and decided to do this for pure fun. I may be wrong in some of these interpretations but that's bc I'm still learning. (also if it matters to anyone, all these will be from a traditional westernastro perspective as that's the one I roll with)
The only placement that's a headcanon here is the ascendant (and, derivatively, every house placement), so that's the one thing that can be debated and honestly I'd love to hear what other takes are out there for their rising signs :) anyway lets talk about Yoosung now. Decided to do him first bc his chart is pretty cool.
(read more bc it's very long: buckle up besties)
Okay, so here's the chart: He was born, using the calculation method I just described, on March 12th 1996. The rising sign I chose form him, Sagittarius, makes him born at around midnight.
The basics: He has the sun in cancer 4H at 21 degrees. he also has a stellium (planet cluster) in this house. Should point out tho that the other planets in the house are gna have a reduced influence/functionality due to how close they are to the sun, but I’ll get into this later.
His moon is in sagittarius 1H conjuncting pluto and the ascendant. It’s not a strong conjunction but since this Is the 1H, the area of the chart that represents Him, it’s still a wildly important planet. His ascendant is also in sag and conjunct pluto, as mentioned.
He was born during the night, which makes Venus the most benefic planet. It’s in the 6H of health and illness, subordinates, and pets, so that’s basically the luckiest part of his life. Saturn is the most malefic planet, conversely, and it’s in the 4H of home and family, so that’s the most problematic area of his life when activated. Will talk more about this later when I get to these houses.
(that's saturn I'm signaling in the left idk if u can see. anyway)
Ok now let’s get into what all of this means, starting with the 1st house and the asc. The ascendant is just the eastern horizon, and the sign that was there at the moment of his birth (in more abstract terms, when his soul entered his body basically) becomes his rising sign and, in the whole sign house system, the sign of the entire 1H.
This sign becomes THE key sign to understand him as a person. His general disposition, personality, approach to life, how he interacts w the world around him, etc. The common themes that color his life can all be found here, in the sign and planets.
The 1H also shows us his physical appearance and how he chooses to present himself physically. Taking into account the fact that the unit of the birth chart is the life of a person and not the person’s psyche, the 1H is the place where we find the person themselves. Everything here, as well as the ruler and its condition, tell us who he is as a person.
He’s a sagittarius rising. Sag is a mutable fire sign ruled by jupiter. It’s kind of like a wildfire. Being mutable, sag responds to its environment. It adapts to the situation, reacts to what is presented to it. As a fire sign, its concerned with action, it’s highly energetic and wants to DO with what he has.
Being ruled by Jupiter, sag is expansive and generous, explorative. The best way to describe sag and especially sag rising, is the feeling of being on a quest. Life is an adventure but more importantly, a journey to seek truth. Sag risings approach situations as if they were on a mission. They're not methodical but definitely driven to make the most out of every experience, try everything at least one. They’re open-minded to sometimes an extreme, there’s this hunger for experience, novelty, and enjoyment.
So basically, he’s a fun guy whose openness and optimism can be mistaken for naivety sometimes, but it’s key to understand that to him, every experience is part of his mission, his seek for truth. He wants to know the world and thus won’t say no to most things. Not because of guilt, but because he sees more worth in saying yes.
That’s his approach to the world, and also how the world approaches him. His life has been a series of experiences that have taught him things, and that’s what constructed his disposition. He’s the kind of guy who’s up for anything anytime and has insane stories, and will urge you to try what you never imagined.
There are 2 other things we have to talk about too if we want to understand him tho: the moon and Pluto. Particularly Pluto.
Being conjunct his asc, it has the bigger influence. It makes his life, other than a cycle of exploration, a cycle of transformation. Likely, there's been moments in his life where he’s undergone intense transformations, becoming a new person basically. A lot of death and purging is involved here, sometimes quite literally. Pluto conj asc can sometimes even indicate death in the early life of the native.
Conjuncting the moon also, Pluto brings all this to the managing of his emotions and inner world, too. Often, his emotions can feel all-consuming, like when he’s feeling something it’s an all-or-nothing, and he expresses them in this way too. His inner world is intense, deep, sometimes difficult to control, most often than not transformative. Because this is in the 1H, these emotional transformations often manifest in his person, either in his looks or personality or both.
Now let’s talk about the moon itself. U can probably guess by now that it’s the internal world of the person, so to speak. It’s more like the emotional nature; how we experience and manage our feelings, and more importantly, our emotional needs. The moon’s sign represents the things we need to do or have in our life to feel okay, and the house is where we express that.
As a sag moon, the stuff he needs is all that was in the asc description: exploration, a mission, to try what’s new, to say yes, to have options, to live freely without any restraints, have the possibility to explore. And being in the 1H, his emotional needs are very much expressed in his person. He doesn’t hide, shows his emotions freely. Whatever he feels, you’re gonna know just by looking at him.
If there’s a planet on the 1H, the native also tends to embody that planet. So he is, besides all these things, a man of emotional nature, with sometimes shifting moods, and also an enjoyer of routine and what’s familiar (which in this case happens to be the seek for the unfamiliar, lil contradiction there). He’s almost motherly in a way too, concerned with protecting that which he loves. He’s a nurturer. And with Pluto here, this is all expressed with great intensity.
But, what does this tell us about his appearance? Since the 1H is also the physical body.
He looks… friendly, to say the least. Approachable. Like a stranger you’d trust to hold your phone. Sag risings have this open look to them, like their face is spreading out from the center, and they usually love to smile. He’s recognizable thanks to his smile and laughter, which is wide and bright. Pluto may give an “extreme” element to his looks, either in his presentation or his looks, like having very dark hair and very light skin, for example. Pluto also tends to give quite intense stares, like he’s staring into your very soul or something.
I’m also gna take into account his jupiter (ruler of the 1H) in capricorn and say he probably has very defined bones thanks to cap influence. He’s kinda bony and maybe even tall and lean. The moon also may soften his expression a bit, keeping the openness and the intensity but adding a layer of tenderness.
Let me stay at the ruler of the 1H for a bit: it’s in the 2H, which is the house of resources and finances, basically how he gets money and whatever else he needs to live and what he does w that. The placement of the 1H ruler can tell us where the native exactly gets influence for their identity, and in this case, a lot of who he is is based upon what he has. He doesn’t equate his self-worth per se with his possessions, but rather builds his identity around that. “I have this therefore I am this.” Might also try to express himself thru possessions. What he has reflects who he is.
Now that I’ve started talking about the 2H, let me stay there for a bit. As I said, it’s the house of resources, how we get them and what we do with them. His 2H is in Capricorn, with its ruler (saturn) in the 4H. He also has Neptune and Jupiter in there. Kinda cute tbh.
Capricorn, being cardinal earth and saturn ruled, is basically the definition of diligence. It sets boundaries for practicality. It plans ahead, looks to the future and prepares. It’s protective but in a somewhat stoic, exclusive material.
So, basically, he’s diligent with his money. Thinks deeply on what to save and what to spend. He invests. When making a purchase, he considers how it's going to impact him in the future. Not one for impulse purchases, definitely one to always keep a strong savings account.
...Or at least, that’s what he aims for.
Neptune is here, adds a layer of confusion to the matter of finances or resources. This planet blurs the edges of everywhere it goes, disconnects from reality. It could be that at first, or when this planet is activated, the matter of finances becomes foggy and confusing. It’s like he has an idea of how to do it but can’t rly execute it, although there are moments where he pulls through, when the benefics start doing their job.
Looking at Jupiter being here w a trine to venus, the sect benefic, this confusion is unlikely to fuck up his finances big time. This is a blessing from the heavens, basically. He’s not gonna have many experiences where he lacks resources. On the contrary, he’s probably gonna have them in abundance, and always be willing to help others out with that excess.
Saturn (the ruler) in the 4H tells us also that he likely gets his resources thanks to his family. Either through working at some family business, or getting a job thanks to a family member. Whatever the case, these 2 houses are intrinsically connected.
As to what he spends his resources on, it’s definitely stuff that will help him in the future, or stuff to better his home life. When this house is activated, he might invest in real estate. He could also spend money on education or travel or donate it, all Jupiter things.
Let’s move on to the 3rd house now, which is where we find siblings, the act of communication in its many forms, elementary education, and everything we do routinely. Errands and short-distance trips, as well as people who are familiar to us, like our neighbors. He has this in Aquarius, with the ruler once again in the 4H, and Uranus is also here with a square to Venus (but I’ll interpret that from a venus perspective since it’s a personal planet).
Aquarius is fixed air and ruled by Saturn. It holds the same strictness as Capricorn but now apply that to the world of human interaction instead of tangible things. As an air sign, Aquarius is intellectual and concerned with ideas. Being fixed, these ideas are unchanging. But with Saturn as its ruler, they’re on the topic of rules and order. How everything works. Aquarius is a sociologist and often thinks ahead about how systems can be better. Often perceived as unique and unconventional because of this.
The 3H is the first house (coming from the 1st) that doesn’t directly concern the ascendant. Yoosung may not be exactly like this towards his siblings or neighbors or ppl he has to see often in general, but THEY could be like this. Forward-thinkers with original ideas about the world.
Smth else could be that he went to an “unique” school, one that used unconventional methods of education. With Uranus here, I would also say that technology was a big element there too. His teachers or classmates could also have embodied this energy.
It could also be that technology (with Uranus) shows up often in his short-term trips. Maybe he has an electric car or something. Applying the Uranian influence, it could also be that his routine environments are somewhat unconventional.
Uranus could also mean that sometime in his elementary school he’s had a sudden change. Maybe transferring schools out of nowhere. Or it could be that such a thing happens with the ppl he’s incidentally around, or in the topic of short-term travel. Maybe he starts biking out of nowhere or smth when this house is activated.
In the topic of communications, it could be that he has an unconventional writing or talking style, or that a lot of his communication is done thru technology, more than is usual, or that what he communicates produces strong reactions in people. Makes them think in a way they haven’t thought before.
All of these are likely, really. Astrology has different ways of presenting itself depending on the person’s life circumstances.
Ok so: 4th house. We’re gonna stay here a while. There is a LOT to go through.
Starting off with the sign: Pisces. It’s mutable water and ruled by Jupiter. Like Sag, it reacts and moves, but now, because it’s water, more concerned with the emotional realm. This is where the spiritual nature of Jupiter comes out, it’s about the personal connection with whatever’s beyond, and it’s generosity is more focused towards the underdog and the outcast than ever before. There’s an element of selfless service to it.
Pisces wants to unify, it wants to blend. It’s mist, the farthest from the material, which is why often Pisces placements are found indulging in fantasy. This, beigh in the 4H, makes for a very loving family environment, where the love given was unconditional and the care was constant. It could also be that Yoosung’s parents and ppl that lived with him were unafraid to be sensitive. It’s possible that this easy love was what gave him his optimistic outlook towards life.
The 4H, as stated, is the house of home and family, but it’s also where we keep our secrets. It’s the most private area of our lives, who we are when we’re 100% comfortable. It’s the comfort zone, whatever makes us feel safe. For Yoosung, that’s emotional openness and indulgence as well as the idea of unity. Having the sun here, this is the area where he gets his ego boost, so to speak.
The sun is one’s ego and vitality. It’s the conscious self as well as our baseline. Think of it as an engine: the thing that makes all other parts of the machine (in this case, planets in a chart) work. It’s what everything orbits around. The sun’s sign is what we aspire to be, the values that guide our life. For Yoosung, that's to be emotionally in tune with the world around him, to connect and to help unite. He’s empathetic and looks beyond what’s seen.
The house of the sun is where that vitality is expressed. It’s quite literally where you shine. He shines in his family environment, feels a deep connection to them and they feel a great love from him too. He is a family man through and through, as that group is quite literally his force of life.
His sun is also conjunct Saturn and Mars (both which are “under the beams”). This blends the energy of the sun with that of both planets. With the Mars conjunction, his vitality is very often also expressed physically or through action. Physical activity, sometimes everything involving competition, excites him and makes him feel alive. He’s a man of action, enjoys the thrill of confrontation, a friendly competitor. Loves the rush.
However, with Saturn conjunct the sun, this gives an element of restriction or perhaps a delay to the expression of his identity. Like his confidence will be gained later in life, and he will build a sense of identity as he grows older. It’s likely that, when he was younger, he felt like there were restrictions in place that messed with his expression (perhaps coming from the family, as this is the 4H, or his resources, as the ruler is in the 2H), but as he matured he overcame these or learned to work with them. This also gives a structured quality to his expression, a somewhat methodical approach.
Staying in Saturn here for a bit: it’s the planet of hard lessons and restrictions. Being in Pisces it can mean that those lessons have been in the area of fluctuating emotions and maybe even imagination, as if he was afraid of being too “in the clouds.” However, being under the beams of the sun, that means invisibilized by its light, these lessons might not have come through or even been there.
It’s also the out-of-sect malefic, making it the most problematic planet in his chart. Things are not gonna go very smoothly for him when this house is activated and it may even be the most troubled area in his life. Besides all the love and care going around his family, there are restrictions that don’t go through and things unsaid that may ultimately estrange his relationship with them. Or it could be the subject of a physical home that is hard for him, as if he finds it difficult to acquire property, maybe again due to something relating to his resources.
However, due to this planet’s energy being overshadowed by the sun and Jupiter trine Venus having an effect over it, I wouldn’t say his issues are shit terrible. They’re problems that look bad but then get solved and everything goes back to normal once the benefics start doing their job.
Saturn is also trining the ascendant. This, in simple terms, means that whatever Saturn is bringing will help Yoosung in his interactions with the world. It could also mean appearance-wise that he ages like fine wine.
Now for Mars, the sect malefic. That doesn’t really mean much here since whatever problems Mars brings (which will be about destruction not restriction) are nothing compared to the issues Saturn brings. in the 4H, this makes his family environment somewhat confrontational. Perhaps accidents with fire are common. Though again, due to being under the beams of the sun, I wouldn't say this happens too often.
Mars, as a personal planet, is our force of action. It’s our method for doing things, who we are at the time of just going for it. It’s naturally brah, our fighting style, and Mars in Pisces brings a rather tender approach to all these things. It acts from down under, it isn’t direct because it approaches things from the emotional dimension. When doing, Mars in Pisces asks “How will this make them or me feel? How will the mood change?” It thinks in broad terms and aims to unify.
It’s also sensitive. It acts thanks to intuitive signals, anything intangible. This sensitivity is quite literal though, and often mars in Pisces champions for the underdog because it can understand their emotions like its own. Often seen as passive since it feels the vibes and reads the room before acting, but that's because its action has to have meaning.
Another planet here is Mercury, which tells us about the mind. How one thinks and sometimes speaks, the processing of information and style of communication. Being in Pisces, his is very abstract. He doesn’t understand things in concrete concepts but rather as a part of something greater, may see the overall messages or pattern and completely skip over the specifics. He understands things by blending the components together.
This all makes it rather hard for him to concretely communicate ideas, and that’s because he attempts to communicate feelings. As long as the message gets through, that's what matters to him. This might make him also communicate with things other than words, like sounds or gestures. Often, words just don’t come to him.
Mercury here and the heavy load of Pisces energy may make him highly appreciate things like music or dance, or any alternative, wordless, emotional method of communication. A lot of the time, he may feel like music or dance communicate what he aims to better than words ever could. He may even be highly adept in these areas, or have family who is, with Mars, the planet of physical action, here.
Mercury is also squaring his moon, ascendant, and Pluto. This is a challenge for the communication of his needs and feelings (moon), he recognizes they’re there but doesn’t know how to communicate them to others. The square to Pluto adds a layer of intensity to his communication, making it slightly threatening. Sometimes his ideas may even be grim or a result of destructive experiences.
His voice, though, may have a whimsical or haunting tone to it. You feel like it's taking you elsewhere. It’s soft and sometimes slow, like calm waters. Because this is in the 4H, he may learn best when at home. But also I’d say that because this planet is 1. under the beams of the sun and 2. in its fall, the area of communication and ideas is not his best.
Overall, there's definitely a lottt going on in his family environment. In part it’s restrictive and confrontational, but also with a back-and-forth exchange of ideas and high mental activity, and where he can express himself. Can feel like the worst place, but also the one he has the most experience with. This is where most of the stuff in his life happens or relates to.
Okay, now onto the 5H, which is in Aries and where we find everything he creates and enjoys. It’s his creative potential, his parenting style, what he does with what he brings into the world and how he brings them. How does he approach that which brings him pleasure?
Aries is cardinal fire and Mars ruled. It’s the first spark to light a fire, quick and swift action, the doing without thinking. It burns bright, but also quick. Which tells us he enjoys that which gives him a rush of adrenaline. He may start projects and not go through with them after the rush has subsided, always looking to keep that spark aflame.
Having the ruler in the 4H, that which he creates usually echoes out into his home life, either by creating it for his family or relating to it in some way or another.
When pursuing someone romantically, he’s direct. He goes for it. He wants to feel alive, feel that spark. He takes the lead and moves quickly, hesitating little. He has a similar approach in intimacy. It’s likely that the ppl who get with him have this feeling that he’s carrying them forward, evading boredom like the plague. It’s all about the rush and the feeling for him.
It may also be that his children are this way, active and direct and very forthcoming. Or that he is this way as a parent. I would say though that this configuration, with the ruler in the 4H, makes him quite a caring father. Everything that he creates, he considers an extension or even a part of his home and family.
Now onto the 6H, which is arguably the best one in his chart. Technically though, it’s regarded as one of the “bad” houses of the chart, since it deals with matters of health and illness and anything that happens to the body, all we have to do to maintain it functional. The 1H is the body itself, the 6H what happens to it. 1H is your hp and 6H is how much damage you take. And with Venys, the sect benefic, in its home sign and trining the other benefic, he’s a tank in every sense of the word.
It’s the house of taking care of one’s needs, of responsibilities, everything that is under our care and how we go to take care of it.
The 6H is also everything that is outside you but beneath you. It’s cadent (before) the 7th, which is where we find other people in his life, so in here we see anything separate from him that is below him. This would mean subordinates and also pets.
It’s in Taurus, which is fixed earth and ruled by Venus. Taurus is the “slow and steady wins the race,” it aims to secure possessions, it’s as unmoving as a mountain. It concerns itself with terrenial pleasures most of the time, things like food and nature, and enjoys the beauty of what’s there. Taurus wants to do things at its own pace and enjoy it while it’s at it.
To sum it all up, he’s a very healthy person. Doesn’t get sick often, doesn’t need to do that much care, he has the chance to rest here. He carries little burdens in these areas: his health is good and he gets well easily, his subordinates (if he ever has them) are loyal, his responsibilities are easy to bear, and his pets don’t have many problems, nor does he have issues with them . It's likely that pets bring a lot of good into his life.
When tackling responsibilities, the worst that can happen to him is being rushed. He needs an environment that is calm and mostly unchanging, that lets him be and do what he has. He finishes what he starts, no matter how long it takes, even if it may take him time to actually set out to do the thing.
When it comes to self care, it’s likely that he prefers stuff that’s natural or familiar, stuff that he knows to work. He is very in tune with his body’s responses to anything physical and tangible, and probably has standards of comfort in place. He wants to feel good and will do what it takes to do so.
Let’s talk about venus: the planet of what and how he loves. It’s what attracts him as well as how he attracts others, what he looks for in relationships and in those things he’s passionate about. Taurus happens to be Venus’s home sign, which makes it also the house ruler.
He’s steady in his passions. Might take him a long time to find something that truly turns him on, but when he does, his passion is as steady and as unmoving as rock. He loves all that which stimulates his senses in one way or another, and these things tend to be physical, anything that can be tangibly held. His love language might be related to food or perhaps some other physical pleasure.
In relationships, he is loyal. His love is also rock steady, and there’s an inherent physicality to the way he loves. His intimacy style is very much sensual and physical. It’s about feeling the love with the senses. He also focuses on ensuring comfort and security.
Unlike the other areas of his life, relationships (and the things he dedicates himself to out of passion) are an area where he wants things to stay the same. He may like constant stimulation but does not, however, like constant change. There can be a possessive quality to his love, an “I will love you forever,” and he expects the same unmoving loyalty from his partner.
Overall, his relationships are kind of a safe haven. Steady, sensual, and fulfilling. Being in the 6H also makes him treat romantic relationships (or anything he’s passionate about) as a responsibility. It’s a 6H matter, something that MUST be taken care of. He shows his love by caring in a practical way. Aside from physical touch, another love language of his could be acts of service. He makes sure his partner’s needs are met, ensuring that both he and them are healthy and secure. Only on those terms can relationships thrive for him.
So, basically, he’s a malewife.
His Venus is making a pretty strong square to Uranus though, so there is the possibility of abrupt changes and general cases of unconventionality coming to his relationships and posing a challenge whenever this planet is activated. With Taurus, Change is already less than desirable, it’s not his style, but this makes it an inevitable wall that he’ll have to learn to get past.
Now onto some more insight about relationships: let’s talk about the 7th house.
In the birth chart, it’s where we find the other person, being completely opposite from the 1H, which is where we find the self. The 7H house responds to the question of “Who are you with?” and often the stuff here doesn’t represent the native themselves but rather where they form close partnerships with.
It’s the place of one-on-one partnerships, people we make commitments to. This could be business partners, best friends, an actual romantic partner, etc. The sign that the house is in tells us what our partners are like and what’s the nature of our partnerships. And it’s always the sister sign of the ascendant, the one 180 degrees away.
His is in Gemini, the mutable air sign ruled by Mercury (and also the sign where Seven and Saeran have a lot of their stuff in just saying). Gemini is the great brainstormer of the zodiac. The most adaptable, out-of-the-box thinker, it wants to figure out what the possibilities are, and has a great capacity to go everywhere, constantly. It’s like the wind: unrestrained and flighty. Communication is important here because it allows for the back-and-forth exchange of ideas, the widening of possibilities.
Those are the characteristics that will define Yoosung’s partnerships in life: intellectualism, conversation, variety. It could be that the people themselves that he connects with have these characteristics, being witty, creative, able to talk about everything with everyone, and adapt their style and personality to the situation. It could also be that the connections themselves are managed like this, and that with every person he partners with, no matter their personality, there is this easy conversation and idea exchange. A contrast to his approach to life, which is, however explorative, ultimately one-track minded.
With Gemini there is also the element of impermanence, constant change, and multiples. It is said that wherever Gemini falls in the chart, the native will have multiple of. 7H Gemini could be, then, multiple partners, connections that don’t last long for whatever reason. Mutable wind moves quickly, changes courses. There has to be this element of back-and-forth and constant movement for the connections to thrive.
The ruler of this house is, once again, in the 4H, which connects his partnerships to his home life. It could be that many of these partners are roommates or become like family to him, or that most of his connections affect his home life in one way or another.
Now, moving onto the 8H, house of shared resources, debts, inheritances, death, all that which is given to another or given to us by another. Sharing in general.
It’s in cancer, which is cardinal water and ruled by the moon. It’s the emotional protector of the sigs, the nurturer. the caregiver. Cancer seeks to shelter that which it cares about. Being water, its approach is emotional rather than practical. It’s the shoulder to cry on rather than the roof on your head.
Whatever Cancer touches in the chart becomes an emotional experience somewhat, your soft spots, and thus the ones you aim to protect the most. Being in the 8H, this makes him sensitive to the topics of debt, reciprocity, and death. It makes him responsible in the management of shared resources: he makes sure nothing goes amiss.
It could also make him emotional, sometimes even nostalgic, about things that are gone. Topics like death and the occult might call to him but also repulse him. It’s an “anyone else but me” kinda situation, interesting when he hears about other people’s experiences but not wanting to experience those himself.
This can also tell us how the people in his life (particularly those in the 7H) manage their resources. They do so in a very felt way, aiming to secure themselves, using material resources as an emotional brace.
In the aspect of sharing, he is more interested in the emotional dimensions more than anything. How is this which he is sharing with the other person bringing them closer, Anything shared might also impact him emotionally, bringing a sense of nostalgia into that which he gave away or was given to him.
The ruler of this house, the moon, is in his 1H, and conjunct his ascendant. This makes whatever goes on in this house-- whatever resources he shares or debts he has or inheritances he gets-- affect his physical appearance, way of interacting with the world, and sometimes even personality. If something is going on here, you’ll see it in him. This also applies to when death ever comes into his life. It has a manifestation in his personality, sometimes changing it (I would say that’s Pluto’s influence).
It could also be (but this is super far fetched), that what the ppl in his life decide to do with their money somehow correlates to his self presentation and personality, echoing out to his 1H and everything that is there.
Now onto the 9H, which is where we find long journeys, one’s philosophy and sometimes religion, and superior knowledge. All that is willingly sought out, journeys that mark a lifetime and knowledge that transcends the basic. It’s also shared knowledge (i.e. publishing).
In simple terms, its college, travel, and beliefs.
It’s in Leo, which is fixed fire and ruled by the sun. Leo is that flame which burns bright and burns constant, but in order to be kept alive, it must be constantly fed. Thus, Leo needs reception, attention, and validation. But what it gets it definitely gives back, as it is the shining beacon. Leo makes itself seen, unable to be ignored, and its inherent confidence becomes a motor to inspire others.
Wherever Leo is in the chart becomes the area where we want the spotlight shined, or where it is shined upon us. So, basically, he’s kind of like a celebrity in his college. Known and recognized, and perhaps also seeking recognition from his peers and mentors (which are more of a 9H topic). This might also happen when he travels, he might find himself in the spotlight and having his ego elevated and confidence boosted.
Having this house in Leo could also mean he’s kind of a preacher when it comes to sharing his philosophy. He knows how to grab people’s attention and make this part of him seen. Whatever it is that he believes in, you will know. It might also be that, again, the spotlight is shined on him in this area, and he gts recognized.
Being a fixed sign, it makes him stern in his beliefs. It might not be hard for him to accept different perspectives, but it definitely makes it hard for him to shift his. The ruler is in the 4H, once again, which makes, in one end, his values and philosophy very akin to that of his family, perhaps also of his culture and country, of his roots in general. It could also make his college environment a comfort zone, a second home, or it could mean he doesn’t go far from home for higher education.
Now let’s talk about the 10H, the house of public image. (also i hit the image limit so this one's gonna have 11 and 12 as well).
It’s the last of the angular hosues, and answers to the question of “what do you do?” In short, it’s who you are in the world. What you’re known for. In our world, that translates to career. The 10H and its sign can tell us what field someone’s in and what kind of job they do there, but more than that, it tells us what they’re like in the job. The qualities associates with the person. Their reputation and legacy.
Here’s also where we find the midheaven, which is the highest point in the observable sky at the moment of birth. It’s quite literally the most visible part of someone. What others know about you before they even know you.
This house is in Virgo, mutable earth sign ruled by mercury. The best way I can describe Virgo is as the red pen making edits to an essay: it fixes. It’s extremely detail-oriented. The way it reacts to its environment is by asking “how can this be better?” It’s constructively critical, oriented towards helping in the most practical manner possible. Having an ideal of what’s in front of it could be, it strives to get as close as possible to said ideal. The perfectionist of the zodiac by excellence, but not in the “picture perfect” way such as Libra, but in a more “trying to make everything the best it can be” way.
This tells us Yoosung has a reputation for being an extremely reliable person. The kind of guy who’s practical and adaptable, can do anything and do it extremely well. When it comes to his image, the way he presents himself to the world, the work that he does, etc. he’s extremely meticulous. He wants to appear as this person who can always be trusted and relied on to do a good job. A perfectionist for sure, but that’s what makes others appreciate him.
He might also be known as an extremely valuable helper, again, because of his keen eye for detail and striving to make everything that he tackles the best it can be. He’s the guy for the job, the ideal supervisor or secretary or perhaps editor. Knowledgeable and diligent. He enjoys feeling useful, caring more about the work being good than getting actually recognized for it.
Of course, this might also mean he puts a lot of pressure on himself when it comes to career. He gets wherever he gets, after all, thanks to a diligently followed routine, a brick-by-brick approach, taking it one day at a time. And due to this perfectionist approach, he might actually be quite hesitant to launch projects of his own, afraid they won’t meet his standards of perfection. If he is a creative, a lot of his stuff will get stalled by this endless amendment cycle, he’s always going to try to make it better. Of course, this helps, in a way, since his work will never be mediocre, but it can also hold him back quite a bit.
This placement could also mean he works in professions related to the sign, which would be anything requiring high amounts of attention to detail. Medical professions, especially surgery, is often associated with Virgo, as well as some kind of editor or perhaps researcher, as Virgo is a mercury ruled sign, after all. His job could have something to do with communication.
The ruler of this house being in the 4th further tells us his job will be connected to his family or home, in some way. Perhaps an architect (4H is also associated with real estate), family doctor, or follow a career path thanks to his family. Perhaps he will be in the family business, whatever that is.
Now onto the 11H (we’re almost done!!!), house of community. Here is where we find friendships, those connections we try to willingly maintain. It’s the house of social life, of groups and organizations as well as fans. The audience for whatever we do on the 10H, an extension of our reputation. Now that you’re known in the world, who are your people?
This is another one of those houses where whatever’s in it might not concern the native, but the people from that area of their life. It could be that this house tells us what Yoosung is like with his friends and in the groups he belongs to, but it can also tell us about what the friends themselves are like.
It’s in Libra, which is cardinal air and ruled by Venus. As an air sign, it is very intellectual and somewhat detached, and being ruled by Venus, planet of diplomacy, this intellectualism is applied socially. Libra goes outside itself in order to understand perspectives other than its own. Represented by the scales, we can infer balance is the ultimate goal of this sign, and it does so by comparison. Every argument has a counterargument, every hero has an enemy, every coin has its flip side. What Libra strives for is to arrive at the middle ground between the opposites, but for that, first, it has to know the foundations of both opposites.
Being Venus ruled also makes it inclined to beauty and art, but in a much more refined way than Taurus: instead of preferring what’s natural and staying in the world of the senses, Libra likes what’s refined, that which is a product of the world of ideas. Constructed beauty. Aesthetics are very important to Libra. It’s about the picture perfect.
So, he’s the pretty friend. The charming one, the kind of guy anyone can get along with. The mediator, he doesn’t start drama but does like to hear about it, not to take sides but to figure out a solution. He tries to see everyone in the group for who they are and relate to them to the best of his ability. He meets people where they’re at, molds himself to them, or sometimes to counter them.
Perhaps many times he has to play this mediator role in his friendships, taking the role of the person who listens and suggests solutions in the most unbiased way possible. Or it could also be that his friends are this way, charming and socially graceful, able to see from multiple perspectives.
Having this house in a Venus ruled sign, it may be that he likes doing artistic group activities. Things like going to the theatre or the ballet or perhaps an open exhibition, maybe he enjoys shopping in a group, everything that blends art and aestheticism with the social. Or that he has friends who do these things, who are fine artists.
He also has two placements here that are worthy of talking about: Chiron and the north node.
Chiron, an asteroid, is known as the wounded healer, similar to the myth it was named after. It tells us about our major wound in life, the thing in the bottom of our soul that most other wounds come from, or that wound which hurts the hardest. But it is also how we heal, the processes that we go through to minimize the pain of the wound and become whole again.
So, it’s the trauma asteroid.
The sign Chiron is in would represent the topic of the wound. For Yoosung, that is company and solitude. Due to certain events of his life, he may have fostered a fear of being alone, feeling like he needs to always be in some sort of relationship or connected to someone in order to feel worthy. As if he isn’t a whole person, and needs someone (or something) to be complete, which makes him always search for answers and healing in other people.
He might fear disharmony, too, making compromises that are actually not good for him. He could also feel like beauty is unreachable for him, like everyone else meets the standard and created beautiful things and lives beautiful lives while he just can’t manage. Or, on the other hand, the topic of connection might be difficult for him, he might feel like he can never truly get through to people and understand them, he can never get to that middle ground like he so desires.
The house Chiron is in can be where the wound comes from, or where in the life it shows up. For Yoosung, that is, unfortunately, friendships. Perhaps it was a friend that he had or a group he was a part of that made him feel this way. It could also be that he always feels like an outcast of sorts in groups, like he never truly belongs, like he needs to prove he’s deserving of belonging. Wounds perdure, after all.
But Chiron is not just the wound, it is also the healing. Ironically, he might be his group's therapist, or healing comes to him in the form of, or because of, a group. Something like a support group might be good for him.
The ruler of this house, Venus, is in the 6H, which could mean his groups and friendships are somehow connected to health. Perhaps they revolve around exercise or diet or some other health-related activity, or maybe it’s pets and small animals. It could also mean he’s friends with his subordinates or that he brings a group mentality to his daily work. Perhaps he’s a member of an union or guild, and his work responsibilities become group activities.
Okay, now we’ve finally, FINALLY made it to the last house: the 12th.
It’s the hiding place. The house of self-undoing, isolation, hidden enemies, secrets that are kept from ourselves, everything unseen basically. It’s where we transcend the physical realm, for better or worse, and go into the mental. It’s our internal maintenance, our subconscious. The part of ourselves we know it’s there but we don’t really wanna look at, as well as things in our life we (or other people) don’t really see.
Scorpio is fixed water and ruled by Mars. As water, it’s dealing with the realm of emotions. Being ruled by mars, it’s centred on action, on fight. But if Aries is the offense, Scorpio is the defense. It acts, but not brashly and quickly, but methodically. Scorpio is a strategist as well as a detective, not concerned with what’s on the surface, but rather with what’s beneath. It will not stop until it finds the core, the roots, the depths.
That’s why Scorpio is often associated with taboos, because it’s interested in what’s hidden. And very often, it goes hard. When Scorpio fixates on something, it won’t stop until it knows everything.
Some topics, you may realize, naturally correlate with 12H topics. The 12H is what’s hidden from us. Scorpio uncovers what’s hidden. So, with 12H Scorpio, there is often a fear or a blindspot to the emotional depths of the subconscious. Like, it’s there but we like to pretend that it isn’t. The heavy, the intense, the deep, is concealed by or from the native. Isolation is a rather dark activity, as it involves facing these depths. Hence the naturally exploratory and lively nature of the Sag rising. It’s not like they’re trying to escape from their own subconscious, but they’ll always be trying to come to the surface.
There is, here, a desire to stray from heavy topics and things that make one feel too much, but simultaneously it could be that Yoosung has things that he’s secretly really really into, or feels like he can only dive into his own emotional depths when alone.
Another thing that shows up here is hidden enemies, as in people whose intentions go against ours but we don’t know it. It could be that his hidden enemies are very scorpian. They’re concerned with what’s under the surface, investigative, sometimes they could be out to get him. But this won’t happen unless there’s a relevant transit here or activation via timelord.
The ruler of this house is in the 4H, which may tell us these enemies may be from his family. The topics of isolation and self-undoing in general are connected to those of home, family, and comfort zone. Maybe his isolation is somewhat of a comfort zone. Maybe his family forces him to isolate at some point or another. There’s many ways to go around this. This is one of those houses that won’t become relevant unless it’s activated, really.
Alright so that’s all i’ll say for him. Interesting chart ngl, that stellium in the 4H fucks shit up more often than not but still, interesting to witness. hope u learned something from this bc holy fuck this took me a WHILE.
If u actually read all of this u deserve a kiss on the lips bc my god
