For the AU headcanon game, AU in which Savitar is someone other than Barry? 👀

So I do remember various theories about Savitar's identity and one of them was Eddie. Which... I did not like that theory, so I'm not gonna go that way.

If it was someone the team knew already, then Eobard is the obvious candidate. In the comics, he's made himself look like Barry a few different ways and so there could be a convoluted plot going on that way, but... they've had enough Eobard Thawne as the bad guy on the show, I wanna speculate on someone new.

So the comics Savitar - New Earth version - was a Cold War pilot whose real identity was never discovered. While at top speed in his fighter plane, he was struck by lightning and survived the crash in hostile territory. This could be updated to him being an air force test pilot for an experimental craft using Dominator tech - foreshadowing the Dominator attack xover event later that season - that gets struck by lightning mid test. The test is classed a failure and the craft is unrecoverable - the man who becomes Savitar is assumed dead but of course he isn't.

Savitar therefor isn't obsessed with killing Iris - his existence doesn't depend on her. Instead perhaps Iris' investigation into Savitar's origins puts her in danger as he doesn't want anyone to know who he used to be - maybe he doesn't even remember and having his identity revealed would detract from the story he's selling the cult he's been creating.

Perhaps Alchemy as a stage one/first half of season boss with Savitar being hinted at until he's revealed at the mid season finale. Savitar could still be the man behind Alchemy, with Julian being unaware that he's been brainwashed to take on the persona of Alchemy under specific triggers. To de brainwash Julian, they bring in Hartley who - in this timeline - used a hypnotic flute in addition to his gloves. Julian thus has to come to terms both with what he did under the brainwashing and with the fact that he is a meta... that it was his rejection and self-hatred over being a meta that gave Savitar the in he needed to control Julian in the first place.

Part of the season's focus is on Barry having to accept that he has no idea how much the changes to the timeline are his fault and how much is stuff that was already gonna happen and he just... didn't know things were leading that way behind the scenes.

Revealing Frost's real origins in this season. Caitlin, panicking, goes to her mom for help and things with Carla eventually unravel to the reveal of Icicle. Frost has to choose between teaming up with Icicle or siding with Caitlin's friends... and chooses Icicle. Only to quickly realize she's in over her head and she turns to Caitlin for advice. The two of them form a truce to defeat Icicle and rejoin Team Flash by surprise!!! during the final Savitar vs Flash fight at the end of the season, which would also include Jesse and Wally as well as Savitar's cult.

Savitar would definitely try to recruit Icicle and Frost into his cult, but I don't see them having any of it. Icicle has his own god complex of a sort going on and Killer Frost just doesn't like him or trust him after Caitlin's experiences with Zoom and the Reverse Flash. If you've met one evil Speedster, you've met them all.

One of the things I did like about show!Savitar was that he was a fallen hero - I'm a Tales game series fan, i love fallen heroes as villains, that's basically the main villain of every Tales game and I eat it up every time. So I think part of the investigation into Savitar would be the reveal that he was a highly decorated hero and he saved a lot of lives. That's why he was tapped for the project. But after being essentially left for dead and his amnesia, Savitar grew to feel he was owed the accolades and devotion and it all warped into the god complex he has now. Forcing him to face his past isn't exactly a tomato in the mirror moment but he's torn between horror over who he's become and his desire for security and safety through the power he's accumulated.

How would you treat a copy of yourself?

i think i'd like to get to know them a bit! it depends on if they are an exact copy of me right now, or if they were copied when i was born, because depending on when they were copied they might have developed differently. but if they are the exact same as me, and have the same thoughts and stuff, i think it'd be cool (if they agreed to it) to go around and prank a bunch of people. or try and convince people that i have a secret twin. also, i'd probably be pretty curious as to how the whole copying me thing even happened, so i'd have a lot of questions. i'd probably start by taking them out to tea or something, and just getting to know them a bit :)

uh solid 4. i'm horrible at spotting mistakes in my own writing but i do try to, like, triple check what i do put out. plus sometimes its fun to reread what i wrote.

uh ok so. i have two answers for this. on my phone notes app, the last thing i wrote was a comic outline for a climax scene i intend to write in/for my harry potter fic. on my ipad, its an entirely different story! its working out i did for my maths class. just some differentiation/optimisation problems. yeah. maths.

🌻 How often do you read your own fics?

whenever someone comments on one of my fics or otherwise mentions it or i think of one of my fics or have a craving for a specific trope or kink for a specific pairing--that is to say, very often indeed, but there's usually a lull period for about a month while i'm still struggling with the fact that i wrote it lol.

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

first of all if someone did make fanart of my fic (irrespective of fic) i would cry (and i have), but to actually answer the question i'd say i'd lose my mind if someone did something from seven times seven or that your sins may be blotted out or whether we live or whether we die, i feel like i did well with those three in particular with the atmosphere perhaps?

this is a hard one because I don't know what counts as "candy" and also I don't really eat that much sweet stuff (more of a salt guy!). if liquorice counts, I'll go with that. I like liquorice

Wedge:

I know Wedge best from the X-Wing books I've read and a few other Legends books here and there. And I always get SOOOOO excited to see him pop up in the books. Usually leading Rogue Squad. Except when he's leading Wraith Squad.

He is absolutely the reasonable adult in the room and accidentally dad to his Rogue & Wraith squads. But oh, he gets the angst as bad as anyone who gets main character status in the extended Star Wars universe. At least one of his love interests is murdered :( poor dear.

He has to put up with being tangentially associated to Jedi nonsense through multiple characters - most notably Luke Skywalker and Corran Horn - but because he's a good friend and a good person to have your back in a crisis, he never complains. They're his people, he's gonna be there for them.

Lando:

He's a con man turned legit business owner, though it's a different business every time I check in on him in Legends. lol

So he spends some time in Legends dating Mara Jade. This is later retconned into the two of them going under cover with fake dating to do some recon and Mara was probably plotting his murder the entire time. Though she only wore his clothes (better than him) and probably stole a few of the man's true love interests (his cloaks). But Lando definitely sees himself as the suave playboy, which I enjoy about him so much. (Leia/Han/Lando please???)

Lando is often the adult in the room. He has no idea how this happened and is in perpetual fake it 'til you make it mode when it happens. I love this about him and I'm always excited to see him get put in a situation. Especially when Han and/or Leia are involved. And if he gets whumped... ;)

He introduced Luke to hot chocolate, canonically (Legends), and I adore that because he looked at this Jedi of growing legendariness and accurately diagnosed him with 'perpetually a farmboy at heart'.

Mara Jade:

Ah, my favorite Emperor's Hand, given the final mandate of killing Luke Skywalker upon the Emperor's death. Quite likely my favorite of Timothy's Zahn's Star Wars OCs, (though Karrde and Thrawn are close seconds) and she is absolutely a bit feral. Cryptid energy absolutely.

I adore that she spends so much of the Thrawn Trilogy (Legends) being driven by the Emperor's final command to kill Luke while also fighting it pretty hard while Luke is just, like... batting his eyes and going 'is this friendship? This is friendship. Leia, look at my new bestie!!!' (While Leia watches in bemusement before heading off on her own weird adventure. While being a badass pregnant woman the whole time.)

She is a trouble magnet in much the same vein as Luke too. Which is fun. I'd say she's an unapologetically Mary Sue character, which is well done here. She's a nuanced character with flaws, no one seems sure why they like her at first but she grows on them while she's actively fighting them growing on her too, and she is absolutely the one with the brain cell on Karrde's bridge every time he pulls some crazy stunt.

She's the only love interest Luke has that I don't wind up getting bored with, so it's convenient that she's the one he actually marries... and the way they go about it is they're besties and not romantic at all, but then realize that they're just... happier together and they get married once they're out of danger. Married QPPs anyone???

If not autistic then Mara definitely has some kind of neurodivergence going on, she has that ND putting up with nonsense energy so hard.

Chewbacca:

I love Chewbacca so much. Definitely can do no wrong. Oldest character on the OG main cast, fought alongside Yoda in the clone wars, taken from his home to be enslaved, rescued by this idiot child (Han) whom he becomes a parental/older sibling to because goodness knows Han would get himself killed once a week without Chewie there looking after him.

He's definitely playing up the Wookie stereotypes on occasion for the fun of it, exuding cryptid energy in the process. Is he feral? Is he just playing on stereotypes to win at space-chess? C-3PO & R2 would certainly prefer not to find out the answer.

Okay I definitely had to think about this one and separate what i like to write or think is hot (no condoms, nothing between them and marking each other with cum) versus what i think actually suits their characters.

Starting with how they are with other people (because I don't headcanon them as especially monogamous in their relationship with each other, especially dean), I headcanon that they both have fairly careful safe sex practices -- once again, especially dean.

he wasn't entirely shocked by the idea that he might have a kid running around out there when he met Ben, so i think sometimes something slips (condoms aren't fool proof, and whatever he and lisa were up to sounded bendy and memorable so maaayyybe he was skipping the safety just a little, he was still pretty young when he would have had that memorable time with her, i think 19?). but i also think he's really damn careful because he knows that if he had a kid, that would consume his life in a huge way. family is everything to dean and given his lifestyle and the fact that sam's safety (or continued survival and humanity, at least) is typically his #1 priority, i imagine the thought of getting someone pregnant would terrify dean as much as he might also want that, on some level.

sam, i imagine, is incredibly practical about these things, which means careful safe sex and condom usage. at the same time, sam is undeniably kinky, and if we assume he has as big a dick as is typically headcanoned and at times implied (by jared and by that ridiculous dick joke of a promo with swords), i also think sam wouldn't really... like condoms. (i mean, does anyone?). getting the right size feels almost egotistical, and he might be really particular about ordering from a select brand or something. i also think he'd definitely get off on not using one, on being bare with his lover and finishing inside them and the fear/danger/possibility of that as well as him leaning into the possessive and territorial side of marking someone. sam is a jealous guy, even if it tries to paint himself as cool headed.

so - i think sam is practical but also... reckless. he's canonically got a blindspot for his own reckleness, because once he's decided something is a calculated risk, he's 110% in. driving the impala through the side of a house? check. turn into a zombie with dean to loophole dean's deal? check. sam dgaf, and i have to imagine he takes calculated risks with sex too.

so condoms are assumed, but with a long term partner (jess), once they're exclusive and she's on the pill (or patch or iud or whatever), he's seeing if condoms can exit the equation.

even more casually though, he's not hard to convince to just... skip it. the girl says she's clean and on the pill (or whichever)? sure, yes, great, no condom needed. maybe not for the more incidental of hookups, but he also prefers to get to know his partners, even his hookups, at least a little before sliding into bed with them, which i think would also lend him more confidence in what they're claiming about their birth control and sti status.

(he's also had the clap courtesy of that joke from Patrick the witch, if i remember the episode correctly, so like... there's that. tbh i headcanoon that both sam and dean have both had stis at least once, dean because condoms aren't 100% perfect in mitigating sti risk and he really enjoys hooking up, so it's just a numbers game. and sam because he's not as careful as he likes to think he is)

for demon!dean, he's using condoms. he does not want to have to deal with any of that shit. if demons can get pregnant and carry the antichrist (as per season 5), they can sure as shit get others pregnant, and that is a headache and a half. he might not bother when he's hooking up with crowley and twins or triplets and things are getting wild, because it's not like he can get an sti this way (the same way demons can't really get human injuries, right?), but i also tend to think dean is... not a germophobe, not actually, but there's a limit to what other people's body fluids he wants on or in him or wants to have to deal with in general, and condoms are just easier, including and especially when doing anal (regardless of the gender of his partner).

for soulless!sam... that man gives zero shits. you want him to wear one? cool. you're cool with him not wearing one? no likely issues or infections? great, condoms are a nuisance anyway. if you get pregnant he'll pay for the abortion. he doesn't need a brat walking around but he's not above shooting you if it becomes a headache. if you show up with a kid, he also might decide that's cool and he has a little mini me to train up, since having a hunting partner is preferable than not, especially if he can mould them into a useful tool.

now the most interesting part... what does that mean about their safe sex practices with each other?

(under a cut because this got long and ever so slightly filthy)

depending on how they start hooking up and the trajectory here, i can envision that when they get to the penetrative stuff (regardless of who tops and who bottoms), dean being confused and a little... affronted? that sam wants to do it without condoms?

"what do you mean you like it better that way? you're doing this with other people? you're skipping condoms? what the hell is wrong with you, did you learn nothing from the safe sex talk when you were 14?? that talk was 98% about no glove no love! where did i go wrong? aren't you worried about diseases? about kids? sam what the fuck?"

i jest but like... this is sending dean, a bit. sam is the responsible one, what the fuck is happening here. sam, unless he's pissed about dean being over the top, would just shrug and say condoms numb some of the sensation. poor dean is stuck between the reality of sam's stupid big dick and the perfect responsible sammy image he has in his mind cracking into a million pieces.

(not like he didn't know sam is a freak in bed but that's one thing and this is another. but well, sam has literally drank blood, what's a few other bodily fluids in the mix after that? but dean doesn't want to think about that. and sam reassures him that he gets tested regularly for stis when he's sexually active, regardless of whether he's using condoms or not, because he is diligent and responsible in his own way)

anyway, they come around on it, both willing to try it the other guy's way and accomodate. assuming they're both vers, which is my headcanon on their dynamic, they fall into a pattern where whoever bottoms essentially determines what safe sex practices are gonna be used that day.

when sam bottoms, except when things are quick or sleepy and he doesn't want to deal with any prior or post cleaning, he typically prefers when dean skips the condom because it turns him on when there's nothing between him and his brother, and dean gets into that as well and gets a bit kinky with it, with having all of his brother and leaving some of himself in sam's guts. sam eats his fibre and this doesn't present either of them much issue.

when dean bottoms, he generally makes sam glove up, but there are plenty of exceptions. one of the things he enjoys about it is that sam will go a little caveman and pull out to cum, pulling off the condom and cumming on dean's skin instead, whether that's on his back and ass and on his hole (dean doesn't mind, kind of likes when sam rubs it in there a little, with his dick or his fingers, but he's not about to admit that out loud), or whether it's all over his stomach, or if sam is in a Mood and he grabs dean by his short hair and cums on his face.

(which is another thing that turns dean on like whoa, but only when sam does it, he hates taking it on the face from anyone else. and it's half because of how sam looks when he does, and looks at dean, and there's so much heat and possessiveness in the action that it slides down dean's spine, the naked reality of just how much sam wants him, how he can't hold back or hold himself in check, how he wants devour dean just as assuredly as dean wants to devour him).

when sam is needy or jealous though, or when they have a bit of time, dean invites him in without a condom and and and - and he feels a little deranged and unhinged with sam all the way in there with nothing in the way, and it's really fucking good just skin on skin (better, he's willing to admit, even if it's not worth the added effort all the time), and sam invariably cums first when they do it that way and sometimes dean trips over that edge with him because sam hammers in so fast and deep when he does and because knowing sam is spilling inside of him scrambles something in his brain.
