The fireworks are loud and so are the car alarms. Today is the Fourth of July, so I'll be typing about Revolution. Revolution is the seventh episode of season three and the overall 33rd episode of the Teen Titans series. It is so goofy. "King Moddy the First" brainwashed everyone in the city. The city looks so weird and trippy. For example, the sky is the British Flag. Honestly, just some good fun, especially if you want to see some British butt be kicked. It isn't as good for the historical facts though. Also... GO STARFIRE!! My girl understands democracy even if she's an alien who comes from a warrior race that has a single ruler.

Steve had never put a lot of stock in things like fate. Too many of the things that had happened to him felt like an accident, the streaks of bad luck balanced out by the fact that he was still standing, in relatively good health, and living the life he wanted even if it wasn't one most people would understand. Titanic was forcing him to reevaluate that opinion. It was hard not to think of the ship of dreams as a kind of destiny. Maybe it was the way it had happened at the last minute in a lucky hand of cards-- and no, he had not cheated. Steve was a lot of things but not a cheater, and it would have felt wrong, not at all the way he wanted to start something like this.
Maybe it was just the sheer size and extravagance of the ship. He'd worked on plenty to make his way across the Atlantic and around Europe, and it was a good way to make quick money without tying himself to any one place for too long. But he wasn't working this one. He was a passenger here, a guest, and he didn't have to worry about where his next meal was coming from until he hit solid ground again. He didn't have any responsibilities but to enjoy every corner of this ship, and he was determined to do just that. Life was a gift he didn't plan on wasting, and so was this trip.
He hadn't settled anywhere for more than a year since tuberculosis took Sarah Rogers, his dad having drank himself to death years before that. He'd never regretted the decision to leave Brooklyn at fifteen, but as the years passed, the homesickness caught up to him. He missed hot dogs at Coney Island and sweltering summer nights on the fire escape, his favorite deli on the corner, fireworks on the 4th of July that as a child he'd secretly believed were for him on his birthday. Hell, he was even starting to miss the things he'd hated back then, getting his ass kicked in alleyways or how expensive everything was in the city. Even if he doubted it would last long once he got there, the need to see home again was a constant tug in his chest, now colored with anticipation at having an arrival date.
But he was here now. Despite the chill and the decent bed waiting for him belowdecks, he'd found a bench beneath the sky and sprawled out, an arm tucked under his head, a lit cigarette in his other hand. There were more stars than a guy could imagine out here, far away from any light pollution besides what they brought with them. That endless, glittering expanse made him feel both small and also hopeful, the way he'd felt since he first set foot on the ship, like anything could and would happen, and he couldn't wait to see what it was, an adventure he'd talk about over beers for the rest of his life.
He slowly brought the cigarette to his lips, a leftover habit from the asthma that had plagued him as a kid, although it didn't trouble him as much now that he was older. For a scrawny kid who'd been sick all the time, he'd hit a growth spurt in his teens and ended up tall and broad-shouldered, maybe the only thing he had in common with the late Joseph Rogers besides his name. Hurried footsteps sounded over the wooden boards of the deck, but he didn't sit up until someone had already rushed by him, seemingly oblivious to his presence, Steve staring after him with interest bordering on concern. There weren't a lot of causes for panic like that aboard the ship, but a glance the other way confirmed that nobody was chasing after him. There was nobody else around at all.

(Haley, Oli & Cass Goth)
Oli Goth (née Titan-Ojo) is the shyer, calmer twin of David Titan-Ojo. They were born in Autumn 1 to Norah Titan and Miko Ojo. Oli has always liked to keep his social circle small, and surprised everyone when he began dating Cassandra Goth. The pair of them got married in Spring 3 and had eldest Ella the same season. Ana was born in Summer 3, after an alien abduction. Youngest child Haley was born in Winter 3.
Autumn 4 for the Goths:
The season began with a trip to school with Ana, who found herself at the centre of insults once again. After school, Ana struggled to think of a reason, but came to the conclusion she was going to try disguising her alien heritage and see if that helped. Haley became a teenager, grew into her spellcaster powers and immediately began duelling other teens. She also got detention on her first day of high school, upset Wolfgang Munch and tried summoning spirits - Haley is not a girl to be messed with! Meanwhile Oli found himself in a midlife crisis, which led to the pursuit of adventures - camping, late night strolls, sleeping in dumpsters, breaking into the Forgotten Grotto, visiting the Realm of Magic and snowboarding. Cass tried to be supportive, but Haley was actually the one who most enjoyed accompanying him. The pair of them now share an adventurous streak. The family threw a large gathering for Bonfire Night, as per tradition, but an accident with a firework ended up killing Marnie Villareal. She was brought back as a ghost, and stayed with the Goth for the rest of the season, unsuccessfully trying to use the wishing well to turn back into a human. Ana became a young adult at the end of the season and moved into her own place, ready to start university in the winter.
Oli, Cass and Haley still live at Hillside Highlands in Newcrest, meanwhile Ana has moved to 1313 21 Chic Street in San Myshuno.

{{ Hello! I saw on a reblogged ask that you'd figured out a timeline between the TTG issues and the TT'03 cartoon? Might I ask if you've ever shared how that timeline goes? Could you point me to it? And if not, I'm still super curious about your thoughts on how that goes! 8O
RIGHT! So.
What I did to figure out the rough timeline was use the TTG! issues that are explicitly set on certain holidays (Valentine's Day, Christmas, Halloween) as reference points for time passage.
We have three Valentine's Days issues (#4, #27, #39), two Christmas issues (#25, #37), one Halloween issue (#13). So right off the bat we have a rough period of about three/four years for the duration of the show and the TTG! issues that explicitly happen afterwards.
From there it was a matter of figuring out where certain episodes and issues fell based on context clues--”Revolution“ obviously happens 4th of July and seems to be Starfire’s first, “Date With Destiny“ is most likely April or May since it takes place at Prom and most high schools do prom at the end of the school year, TTG! #27 mentions the True Master so it must be set after “The Quest”, etc. etc.
I did wind up having to move a couple of the TTG! issues around since they didn’t fit but only three, #13 (the Halloween issue), #40A (two-story issue, second story recounts from a time when Jinx was still with the HIVE) and #45 (since Cyborg and Sarasim get back together in that issue but were shown already back together in TTG! #39).
Everything else can be presumed to proceed in chronological fashion.
I’ve included my little timeline graphic, plotted with the episodes/issues that have “hard” dates, as in we know exactly when they happen.
And here’s my rough approximation of a couple key significant episodes/issues and the overall seasons, as well as those few shuffled exceptions I mentioned.
Red: Season 1
Yellow: Season 2
Blue: Season 3
Purple: Season 4
Green: Season 5
Orange: “Extra” season, TTG! issues that continue past Season 5

Notes:
“Birthmark” (S4E3) reeks of Dangerous Sixteenth Birthday and also appears to be Raven’s first celebrated with the Titans. I like to headcanon her birthday in October (because spoopy season), October 13th to be exact, because it allows the most time between Year Zero and Year Two for four whole seasons of the show. By necessity this means that Season 2 and Season 3 of Teen Titans happen mostly over the summer of Year One.
Season 3 of Teen Titans being in summer of Year One also fits with “Revolution” being Starfire’s first 4th of July with the Ttians.
As previously mentioned, “Date With Destiny” (S2E6) takes place in prom season, so Season 2 taking up the early part of summer of Year One also fits.
"Date With Destiny” marks the first appearance of the R-cycle, which means Robin is 16 by then, as that’s the earliest one can have a legal motorcycle license. (Though Robin has a motorcycle in TTG! #4 it’s an early design, possibly what he was learning on while waiting to take his official test. It would make sense to celebrate getting his license with building a new custom cycle.)
Robin’s birthday (according to DC Comics’s Robin Annual #4) is “the first day of spring”. So either March 20 or March 21. Leaving room for the earlier episodes of Season 2, this means that Robin was 15 when Slade kidnapped him in the “Apprentice” finale (S1E12). What a bastard.
With Season 1 of Teen Titans ending in March, I straddled the beginning of Season 1 back into Year Zero, with “Sisters” (S1E2) happening on or adjacent to New Year’s because of the fireworks.
“Go!” (S5E10) would have therefore happened sometime between October (Raven’s birthday) and December (start of Season 1), to allow time for the Tower to be built. I stuck it nebulously in early November but I’m flexible on this date.
“Nevermore” (S1E6) would be sometime mid January to late February. I put it earlier to allow time for the other episodes of Season 1. For poetic sake I put “The End” finale (S4E11) exactly one year later.
(Also because Cyborg and Sarah’s relationship is strained from lack of contact in the Valentine’s Day TTG! #27 and it would make the most narrative sense for that issue to take place right after the whole craziness of Season 4.)
“Things Change” (S5E13) has Terra in school, enough time having passed that she’s already taking a test, so I put it at the end of August. Season 5 takes the longest amount of narrative time, consequently, most of Year Two. It could theoretically be longer, pushing “Things Change”, Beast Boy’s birthday in TTG! #28, Cyborg and Sarah’s reconciliation in TTG! #45, and the first clear post-Brotherhood unfreezing issue TTG! #33 all back into October/November, but I thought I’d leave some breathing room between TTG! #33 and the Christmas issue TTG! #37.
Valentine’s Day issue #39 takes place literally right on the heels of Trouble In Tokyo. Literally, Larry is so happy about Robin and Starfire getting together that he decides to steal cupid’s arrows and make other Titans fall in love too. So Trouble in Tokyo is mid February of Year Three.
TTG! #50 is called “Graduation Day” so for poetics sake I stuck it late May, when most school years end. TTG! #51 is also therefore late May since it has Terra still in school. TTG! #55, the end of the comic run, has big summer vibes (a barbecue party at Dayton Manor is twice mentioned) so could be anywhere in June/July.
Various Titans we met in “Winner Take All” (Speedy, Wildebeest, Hot Spot) make appearances starting from TTG! #14. Speedy was the first, and his appearance is very much per-assignment to Titans East. So I placed TTG! #14 at the beginning of when Season 3 would start.
I just kind of stuck TTG! #40A in there because it’s after “Mother Mae-Eye” (See-More and Private Hive are on the HIVE Five) and feels like a breather moment between Season 4 and Season 5.

And there you have it, my rough approximation of the Teen Titans timeline.

RobStar Week 2022, Day 3 - July 4th
(So this one and “Tropical” are the two that I felt really hit those good summer vibes. I dunno I just kinda felt like that was the theme I wanted to go for this year for RobStar Week.

Melvin and Timmy ran past them, giggling, bright sparklers fizzing in their hands. Teether toddled after, eyes wide and happily clapping his pudgy hands as he followed his siblings.
Starfire grinned, watching the dancing sparklers twist and bob in the stark black night.
She stretched her arms out above her head, taking in a deep inhale of the fresh sea breeze, still warm from the hot summer afternoon, but beginning to cool. Tiny droplets of ocean spray fizzled on her bare skin.
The beach was crowded, nearly the full Titans network had been invited, and even though many of them weren't American they had turned up for the party anyway. Raucous, jubilant noise filled the air and echoed down the strand of sand. Starfire tilted up on her bare tiptoes, searching the heads for her boyfriend. She hadn't seen Robin in a while; last she'd glimpsed him he was busy at the grill with Cyborg, making sure everyone had a full plate.
Which meant he may not yet have seen her in her flag bikini ensemble, she realized with a mischievous giggle.
She angled herself in that direction, enjoying the feel of the sand on her feet as she wove in and out of the crowd. She passed multiple clusters of Titans—Wonder Girl, Pantha, Kole, and Jinx had set up a net and were in a pitched volleyball match, Lightning was at the fireworks station practically bouncing on his feet in impatience as he waited his turn, with a moderately concerned Thunder hovering behind him, and Beast Boy was regaling a very politely confused Argent on American history, with groaning corrections from Hot Spot—and made her way to the still-burning grill.
Sure enough, Robin was still there, looking comfortable in his short-sleeve gray t-shirt and green cargo shorts. He had one eye on the grill, grabbing the handle and peeking in every few minutes, and one eye on his T-communicator, checking for crime alerts.
Starfire shook her head, smiling long-sufferingly, and stepped up next to him. She clasped her hands behind her back and just waited.
Robin glanced briefly her direction, and then double-took, his expression lighting up.
"Oh wow," he commented, looking her over in appreciation. "You went full summer beach girl, huh?"
Starfire beamed at the praise, joyful tingles bubbling up in her stomach. "This year I wished to 'dress for the occasion', as you say," she said, extending her arms a bit out from her body to show off her floppy straw hat, flag-pattern bikini top, and frayed jean minishorts.
"It's a good look," Robin told her, grinning.
"Has there been much trouble?" Starfire asked, tilting her head towards the T-communicator.
Robin picked it up, glancing at the screen for a moment. "Couple reports of vandalism, firework noise complaints, drunk and disorderly conduct..." he listed. He turned the device off and set it back down on the table. "Not really anything worth the Titans' attention."
"Surprising, given how much Mad Mod hates this holiday and frequently seeks to disrupt it," Starfire mused idly, picking up a stack of paper plates and holding them at the ready, as Robin opened up the grill and released a fragrant puff of smoke.
Together they worked in tandem to put hot dogs and hamburgers in buns on the plates, Robin transferring the meat carefully with tongs. Starfire's mouth watered. There was something about charbroiled Earth grilling that made her nostalgic, reminded her of the summer feasts they used to have at home, before the war.
The folding serving table was soon quickly filled back up with ready-made plates, and almost just as quickly emptied, Titans moving eagerly into line.
Someone set off one of the bigger fireworks; it whistled loudly as it soared high into the air, then burst with a loud bang and a blossom of green sparks.
The gathered teens "oooh"ed in appreciation and gave a light scattering of applause.
Starfire was rather pleased and proud of herself that she hadn't flinched a bit. Fireworks and thunder used to startle her, used to remind her of Gordanian attacks. She'd told Robin as much the first time he'd taken her to see some, years ago at the carnival on the pier.
Her heart warmed with that nostalgic feeling again. The lingering warmth in the sand felt good on her feet.
She grabbed one of the free-standing canvas chair scattered around and ate a quick plate of food, delighting in the tang of mustard and sharp sourness of the relish.
She gazed around as she ate.
Moments like this were when she truly loved Earth, truly felt like she belonged here, with these people and these cultures and traditions, with all her friends. With the boy she loved, who had so patiently introduced her to this world.
He came over and sat next to her shortly, pulling up a seat.
"Cyborg made me take a break," he said, smiling nonetheless. He reached over and took her hand, squeezing it warmly.
Starfire squeezed back. The happiness inside her was spilling over, making it hard for her not to float. "I am not sure exactly why," she said, "but I think this is my favorite Earth holiday."
"Yeah?"
"There is an... innocence to it. A sense of pride and..." Starfire struggled to find the words, rifling through her mental English dictionary. "...unbridled childhood," she finished. Her eyes glimmered, reflections of the sparklers and fireworks dancing in the depths. "The summer festivals on Tamaran were one of the only times I was allowed to mingle with ordinary citizenry from outside the palace. It always made me feel more... connected to my people."
She let a wistful little smile play on her lips.
"There was a group of girls my age that would always play with me. We would swim for hours, buy sweet treats from the vendors that set up all along the boulevard." She sighed heavily. "I still do not know what became of them."
Robin sobered. "I'm sorry," he whispered sympathetically.
Starfire shook her head, dismissing her momentary sadness. "It is okay. I have all of you now," she said.
Robin raised their clasped palms to kiss the back of her hand. "We should set off some fireworks," he suggested.
Her heart gave an excited flip, her wistfulness utterly forgotten, clearly a calculated move on her boyfriend's part.
"We should," Starfire agreed. A playful grin spread across her face slowly as an idea came to her. "But first..."
Without warning she grabbed him up in her arms and took to the air.
Robin yelped, flailing awkwardly as she beelined for the water, and shrieking as she dunked them both.
Cold ocean water swept over her head. A quick push up with a foot and she broke the surface again. Starfire laughed as she swept her straw hat off her now-soaked hair, water dripping off her golden skin.
Robin came up from the surf sputtering and laughing, smacking a handful of water into her face. Starfire shrieked with mock indignation, getting her hands on his head and shoulders and immediately dunking him again.
They roughhoused in the water for several minutes before stumbling happily onto the sand, dripping saltwater and stealing kisses.
Their hands entwined once more as they walked to the fireworks station.

Yo in your response to that Pregnant Ask, you mentioned a fic where they get together in their 30s. Is that something that's in the works? And if so, do you plan on them having kids of their own from separate people in that fic? Do tell alllllll the deets
Oh gosh. See, I have lots of Dasey ideas, and then a half a dozen RobStar (from Teen Titans) ideas, but the one you're referring to...
It's just something super vague where all I have is a scene where Derek and Casey are sitting on a set of outside, concrete steps: him with a tie half-undone and her in a very nice dress with her heels in her hand and his jacket slung over her shoulders; and she leans her head on his shoulder and says, "Tell me something crazy."
He's rolling something in his fingers, and you see it's a woman's wedding ring. He frowns at it. "Something crazy?"
She nods, face still pressed against his shoulder. "New year, new scheme." In the background, you can see flashes of fireworks going out, hear music playing and people laughing. "Give me something crazy."
He keeps frowning at this wedding ring. "I'm thinking about moving to Edmonton."
She bolts upright and her eyes are wide. "What?"
He doesn't look at her. "There's this job position for a communications assistant manager with the Oilers. There's more money, better hours, and the rent there is cheap compared to here..."
"You're leaving us?" Casey asks, her voice so hushed that you can barely hear it over the background noise.
He shrugs. "Thinking about it. That's not the crazy thing, though."
"Moving three thousand kilometres away isn't crazy?!" she yelps, gathering his jacket in a hand and pulling it tighter around her shoulders.
He makes a face. "How the hell do you know that off the top of your...? You know what, never mind." He shakes his head and tucks the ring back into the palm of his hand before twisting to face her. "Nah, it's practical: new year, new job, new world. Makes sense. No, this is the crazy thing."
"Oh, please enlighten me," she sneers; but Casey and Derek have always been similar in wrapping up their fear in cruelty.
He knows this, he sees himself in her and vice versa, so instead he just smirks at her. "Wanna come with me?"

10. Yoimiya Naganohara from Genshin Impact.
Hearty, warm, and a hard-working fireworks specialist, Yoimiya is a joy to see. Definitely a great woman.
Although she may be part of a resistance movement, I bet she'd make time to remind you she loves you.
9. Sana Aigean from @pmseymourva cosmic wonders.
Like, come on man, look at her. Adorable, sweet, beautiful. Athlete from Atlantis. Top tier waifu. *Chef's kiss*

Yes, the snake woman from the Ecchi anime. You look at that face and tell me it ain't cute.
Bright, cheerful, and hilarious, Miia is just a fantastic lady to see. I'd be more than happy to take her on a date.

My main in League of Legends, a yordle with a heart of gold and a hammer of legend, I'd consider her a great waifu.

Not only somebody who has a good head on her shoulders, she's funny, charming, smart, and endlessly helpful.
4. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long from RWBY.
Yes, I listed all 4 of the members team RWBY here. They're all great. They're all adorable. I take no criticism on this.

3. Tali vas Normandy from Mass Effect.
The engineer, Tali, that had my back in a great many situations in this game, all while carrying her trusty shotgun and a sharp wit.
Incredibly loyal, to Shepard and her people, as well as an adorable introverted dork who has a slight trigger finger when it comes to geth, she's definitely waifu material.
2. Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket
Tohru. A cinnamon roll of a character. Capable, wise, patient, with a bottomless supply of love.
She had an abundance of wisdom that helped me grow in my high school years, and a fantastic personality to boot. Makes any man wish he was Kyo.
1. Starfire from Teen Titans.
Most day she's a magical girl superhero, I say she's one of the most wholesome girls I've ever seen in animated cinema. Puts her whole heart into what she does, even if she's not 100% sure what it is.
Starfire holds a special place at the top cause this character was the first one I liked as in "If she was real, I'd totally kiss her."
