ok...I knownyou said no nsfw...but my mind saw it differently(I'm also at work Rn so to me nsfw, is literal and not the naughty stuff haha)
Someone at the watch tower is not following safe work practice rules! Cue Danny showing up in janitorial gear carrying a ghostly broken ladder and haunting the person until they do things right!
Maybe Clockwork is involved. But the though of Danny haunting someone while criticising thier actions by saying things like 'using a ladder? Like that? Care to know why I have a broken one?' Or much more sarcastic haha
Danny and the Battle of OSHA Compliance

The fact that in that scene in the doctor who special Donna’s about to go off with the doctor in the end and her husband is like yeah most husbands would be jealous of their wife hanging out with men in a small space alone but then he looks at the doctor and is like nah not him. Like he knows the doctor wouldn’t be interested in Donna in that way and that she was completely safe from cheating on her husband. Shaun took one look at the doctor and was like I know what you are . He was NOT worried about Donna being alone with him
So, I did watch the 60th special today, which I originally wasn't planning to do, since I'm not much of a Whovian. But curiosity got the better of me, and once your ask came in, I figured why not give it a watch.
After sitting through the whole episode, I still have no idea what the hell actually happened, or what a Metacrisis is, or why they were all fighting evil anthropomorphized dryer lint...but I was still thoroughly entertained. Haha. And there were moments I liked (disability rep with Shirley Bingham whose character actually wasn't about her disability but just her as a badass person!), moments I didn't like, and moments that made me unexpectedly emotional (the mention of Wilf, which given Bernard's passing last year was incredibly poignant and left me in tears).
But what I was really living for with this episode was how unbelievably and incredibly gay it was, in absolutely the most phenomenal way possible. Again, I want to emphasize that I am a very casual DW viewer, so I can't speak to previous seasons or incarnations, but this certainly felt like the queerest Doctor Who ep I have ever seen. The awesome Yasmin Finney as Rose. Describing the Doctor as "male...and female...and neither...and more." Having legend and lesbian extraordinaire Miriam fucking Margolyes as the voice of the Meep.
And of course, the moment you mentioned...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's really interesting to me about this is so much of the writing in this episode was pretty on the nose (thinking in particular of the scene about the Meep's pronouns, which was very well meaning but felt a bit heavy-handed in both the writing and some of the delivery). But I wouldn't say Russell T. Daddy was really going for nuance in a lot of what ended up on screen, which is why this moment stands out and is so interesting and hilarious. You can almost feel Russell abruptly stop short of saying what this is clearly meant to be saying, and leaving it as subtext instead of, well...text. And I've mentioned on my blog previously about seeing the Doctor and Donna's (as well as David and Catherine's) chemistry as very "exasperated straight woman and her chaotic bisexual BFF," so this really seemed to validate the hell out of that. Haha.
So yes, overall, I enjoyed "The Star Beast" much more than I ever expected to, and I'm definitely intrigued to see what the other specials will entail (especially "The Giggle," since NPH is in that one, and the queer quotient will no doubt be off the charts, at least if the production stills/BTS I remember seeing last year are any indication). It will certainly be interesting to see if we get more moments like the one above with Fourteen (Ten? Ten-Four?), so I suppose we'll find out soon...

The point of vote blue no matter who at this point isn't even about getting our needs met, especially as minorities
It's about picking the less autocratic fascist option, the party that would rather neglect us to death rather than outright kill us, so that we're still ALIVE come next election cycle and can continue building community resources independent of our passively genocidal state!
Like, yeah I'm a profoundly disabled trans crip. My vote doesn't "not matter" because politicians will never, EVER give a shit about me. That much is true. It matters because I remember how suicidal I was when Trump wanted to pass legislation that would have made even people like me ineligible for SSI, and how the Biden administration just. Hasn't bothered with SSI. It matters when Republicans are openly trying to force queer people into hiding by way of military dictatorship, and democrats sometimes use lip service in favor of some of us for their platform.
Like. I get it. It's not much of a lesser evil to be left to die than to be murdered. But goddammit, when you ARE building community and organizing and doing the other things to survive as best you can...
Idk. I'd rather that than actively looking death in the eyes. I do in fact think that the preservation of life, no matter how thin the pretense which causes it, still fucking matters

I KNOW ABOUT TWISTED BY OSMOSIS, PLEASE TELL ME THE CONTEXT BEHIND THAT "IS MAL A GOOD BOY" ART
I'm pretty sure it's based on an event but idk more than that
LOL ANON OF COURSE I am almost honored to get to tell the story behind this sketch. I don’t know just how much aware you are of everything that’s going on in twst, but you are right, it is based on something that happened during the Glorious Masquerade event! If any of you haven’t seen it, it’s somewhat of a spoiler.
Long story extremely short; at some point in the event, Malleus, who is obsessed with gargoyles, got to meet and chat with an actual living gargoyle. And obviously, he got super excited about it, fanboying over his new cool gargoyle friends.
So when one of the gargoyles gave nicknames him and the other boys who were present (Idia and Azul) nicknames, Malleus got shook for a moment there, but then immediately embraced the nickname so hard that he started talking in 3rd person about himself. That was… an experience for sure.
Tumblr media
Look at Idia, calling Malleus out for acting out of character… Malleus gap moe’d too hard.
Tumblr media
(translation from Ekala’s channel)
Gaaah, what I did forget is that Rollo was always a part of that scene! Missed opportunity…

Hey,
first of I wanted to mention how much I love your stories and the characters you create (especially Alpha Steve and Alpha Ari (you can see the pattern there xD))
Anyway, this has nothing to do with the alphas, but I just had this filthy blurb in my head, and I thought I wanted to share:
Ari (or Steve) as a swim teacher with you as his assistant. He sees you working with the kids and how perfectly you handle the little ones, and let's just say he gets a little bit turned on. A work break later, and he has bent you over in the private changing room and fills you full, saying he wants to give you your own little ones to take care of.
Anyway, that's it. I just love bare chested men in swim clothes. Much love to you.
🥵🥵🥵 Fuck yes! Thank you for this deliciously hot thot!
Impulsive breeding ftw! 🫠

Ancestor is the most character ever
oh, he definitely is!
he's the most deserving of my knee meeting his face! :}
fantasies of violent solutions to interpersonal struggles aside, i can't help but agree with that. sure, he's a Jerk with a capital J, and you cannot help but facepalm listening to every deed this guy has ever done, but once the deeds start piling up, you cannot help but... feel morbidly impressed.
from what we know, in one short life (he has barely greying temples) the gentleman in question:
[warning, spoilers for DD1 (and some DD2) incoming]
had an estate worthy of someone with the title of Countess to come to him to pay his party a visit (not to mention having his own Abbey) - it is unclear though if it's his accomplishment, too, or merely a silver ladle in his mouth he was born with;
had an operational sea-faring port in his town;
had enough land that you need 99 weeks at minimum to scout it all (just... sit for a moment and really think about it);
had enough money to potentially lose and effortlessly replace a mill on a whim (and lemme tell you, those things weren't cheap to make and maintain!);
had enough money and wit to hire and manage a personal army (again, not as cheap as one can imagine, especially if we consider that they had huge siege engines - and Abbey has a notoriously huge gap in it... makes one wonder...)
managed to make a literal saint come to him and prophet his undoing (am i the only one who sees some of the saint Elmo in the Prophet?);
managed to survive and win against an eldritch bloodsucker;
managed to make wine out of said bloodsucker's blood (somehow; this is not how blood works. this isn't how winemaking works..!);
summoned an actual demon or some other occult thing and gave it stable material form (Swine God);
twice (if Shambler dearest is his doing as well - which is plausible, considering it holds his trinkets);
trice - without even trying (if we add the Flesh, which gave potential birth to the Foetor from DD2 but that's a whole other theory i don't have strength for right now);
managed to create a whole-ass faction - of undead (by creating the Necromant - confirmed by DD2 (even if i hate mixing the two, Protege's story is all but yelling about it) and potentially providing them with first bodies);
twice (if we consider swinefolk and how they became a separate nation by the time of DD2 (again, hate mixing the two, but... ugh));
or even trice (if we give bloodsuckers the benefit of the doubt and segregate them into a separate race - which I think we should, they are clearly sentient; arguably more so than swinefolk);
managed to strike a deal with a separate eldritch entity (Dagon?) and its followers to his own benefit and lived to actually use the wealth;
had enough money to order, plant and care for a huge variety of exotic and expensive herbs and knowledge not to die a grizzly death immediately;
could successfully create curses (Waif, Sunken crew, Crimson Curse, potentially Hag?);
what I'm saying is... this list alone could've fueled something like the Uncharted series trice over. imagine, for a moment, if we were allowed to play as the Ancestor instead of shovelling through the DD2 Mountain's worth of shit he left us to deal with and clean up after him. the sheer, unabated glee of having the money, reputation and manpower to flaunter on your each and every whim, regardless of how inherently stupid or outlandish it is. with an appropriate pinch of dark humour, that could've been an amazing game, methinks.

What makes a story/a character a greek tragedy? What differences greek tragedy have with Shakespearean tragedy and any "tragic" story? Sorry if i asked too much 😅 but i see the word greek tragedy thrown randomly alot especially when it comes to Hotd and i don't get it
hey anon, great question but I'm gonna warn you the answer will be a bit long (it was impossible to keep it short 😓 I tried)
First of all I think fandoms like hotd just throw around the words "Greek tragedy" because they consider what their fav character has gone through a tragedy and to emphasize the big sad they gonna call it "Greek tragedy" to make it look all deep given the reputation and fame Greek tragedies have in literature alas they're all wrong so let's start.
What is a Greek tragedy?
To understand we need to start from what those plays were in the first place. Greek tragedies worked according to strict artistic and ethical guidelines, although these changed slightly depending on the dominant playwright of the time.
In general, Greek tragedies feature a character of ordinary moral virtue - so this means that the character, while isn't villainous, exhibits a realistic, but fatal flaw, known as hamartia.
Most of the time, the focus of a tragedy is on the protagonist’s psychological and ethical attributes, rather than their physical or sociological ones. As the action progresses, the character’s own failings drives them toward their downfall.
And although the character’s choices are vital, the tragic plot is considered more dominant than the character. This reflects the imperative of fate. The plot, like destiny, moves towards its inevitable tragic climax despite the character’s best efforts to avoid it. This dire outcome was intended to incite pity and fear in the audience - not for the sake of suffering alone, but for the knowledge that suffering brought.
Most Greek tragedies included a chorus; a group of masked performers who commented on the action and helped the audience process its significance. Such understanding was part of the Greek concept of catharsis, which held that experiencing intense emotions in a safe setting generated a healthy sort of emotional cleaning that renewed the spirit.
What makes a story/a character a greek tragedy?
While the basic elements of a Greek tragedy, like the focus on a hero's downfall and the presence of hubris/ a tragic flaw, are commonly found in literary works today, not every story can be considered a Greek tragedy.
The Greek tragedy existed within a specific cultural context and was influenced by the religious and philosophical traditions of the ancient Greeks.
As I mentioned above Greek tragedies often featured a hero or central character who was doomed to suffer a tragic downfall due to a combination of personal flaws, such as hubris or lack of humility, and outside forces, such as the interference of the gods.
These characters were often portrayed as larger than life, with a level of nobility and grandeur that set them apart from the average person.
While some modern stories may feature similar elements to Greek tragedies (like the focus on a central character's fall from grace or a tragic downfall due to personal flaws) they aren't necessarily categorized as Greek tragedies, because of the specific cultural and historical context in which the Greek tragedy emerged is an integral part of what made it unique and distinct from other forms of storytelling.
What differences greek tragedy have with Shakespearean tragedy and any "tragic" story?
For Shakespearean tragedies, i can only tell you my observation as a reader because I haven't actually studied them as a seperate subject.
From my perspective the difference between Shakespearean tragedies to Greek ones is that they often feature stronger themes of romance, political intrigue, and social commentary. Therefore they tend to be more character-driven than plot-driven, with the main character facing a tragic end due to their own choices that they make rather than due to the will of the gods or the workings of fate.
As to the differences between those two and any tragic story is: context
As I mentioned earlier the cultural and historical context is an integral part of what makes Greek tragedy unique.
So the difference between that and any "tragic" story are the cultural elements that are missing.
In general, "any" tragic story is one that features a character attempting to overcome a personal flaw or face a challenge, but ultimately succumbs to their own flaws or to forces beyond their control.
A great example of a fictional character that possesses all the requirement to be categorized as a tragic one is Anakin Skywalker from the Star Wars series. His character's downfall does mimic a bit of a Greek tragedy, but of course we can't call his story an actual Greek tragedy because by the end he gets a redemption and there are no Greek elements in his story in the first place. Still parallels can be made to certain parts but he's still just a tragic character.
I think overall people on the internet have this idea that calling a character's story a "tragedy" is less significant than calling it a "Greek tragedy," which is completely false, because while Greek tragedies are one of the most well-known examples of tragedy in the world of literature, there are many other forms of tragedy that have emerged from various cultures throughout history.
Each type of tragedy has its own distinct qualities and themes, and the variety of tragic stories that exist today prove the appeal and power tragedies have as a literary form.
And to bring it back to hotd fandom, there are very few characters whose journey we see and can call their story a tragedy in the book. A thrown away line here and there to a background character does not make their "story" a tragedy because you need to see the actual journey of the character to know if their story can be categorized as that.

David's wardrobe choices in Georgia's new post are divine
Indeed! I saw that post earlier today, but for those who haven't, let's get the visual up:
Tumblr media
So much going on here, of course, from the glasses to the headband to David's beloved Paul Smith shirt. I love that his hair is getting longer again, as he looks entirely too attractive with it (and somehow managed to look like a high-fashion model during lockdown while all the rest of us looked like we'd been run over twice), and now requires the use of the headband.
I had previously thought that perhaps Crowley's headband in season 2 was the same as David's, but we can see from this BTS picture that that does not appear to be the case:
Tumblr media
...I do wonder, however, if David had any say in selecting Crowley's headband, in the same way that he chose the purple shade of lipstick for Nanny Ashtoreth. It's fascinating to see such little touches that come from/are influenced by David and Michael in the second season--certainly more so than in season 1. That everything about Aziraphale and Crowley--their relationship, right down to what they wear--is the way it is because of David and Michael, either directly or indirectly.
But going back to the photo of David from today, it's always a delight to see him in that melted flower shirt that he seems so fond of...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Admittedly, I'm less fond of the jacket, only because it's so muted and covers up the shirt so much.) But the glasses are possibly just the delightful cherry on top of the whole outfit, as he always looks adorable in them.
So yes, some lovely wardrobe choices from David today. Fingers crossed that we'll get to see more pics of him with that beautiful long hair...

@gia-selene-baczewska It was so nice to receive this comment last night, my friend! I haven't done much with them bc I'm frustrated with trying to get LokiSim to look like Loki, and in retrospect Thor is giving Uncanny Valley (I mean, I like hyper-realistic Sims but I've since learned that's unpopular on the internet, so I didn't plan to share any further posts in general and just continue being a weirdo privately), but in general they're still just hanging out in-game with their science baby.
Fun fact: The Sims makes you build romantic relationships from the total start, so a few hijinks:
- They started the game as already living together, and they're not set to brothers
- They had a science baby together (which is the Sims version of - not a surrogate, exactly, but more like a literal test tube baby from both of their DNA lmao) so they are each literally their baby's father
- There is only ONE BED
... and yet despite all of this, I had them skinny dipping in their pool at like 3am and Loki went to make a move on Thor and got shot down! Thor was like "oh sorry I don't like guys" lmaooooo. Because apparently the game just defaults to Sims being straight unless you specify otherwise.
So I had to go and make Thor bisexual, as per my headcanon, and then they went skinny dipping again and when Thor tried to make a move on Loki, Loki was just like, "No thanks, I'm not interested" for no other reason than bc he was salty at being rejected before.
Last time I left them, they weren't too pleased with one another, and then Loki randomly showed up as the guy who stands around playing the guitar at festivals in the city, with a tip box and everything, so we've discovered Loki apparently plays the guitar in my Sims universe version.
(I don't know how familiar you are with the Sims so I hope these updates make sense.)
So yeah, there we are. I will have to check in on them today to see how they're doing; since I originally posted this, I've created and started to play even more households, so sometimes I forget about the boys :(
I hope you're doing well!

you know what just hit me,is that like if they’re doing something similar to the Halloween event with the masquerade one then if they do. A pt2 next year I give you jade and floyd potentially getting masquerade fits and I dont think I can handle-
.....UHM ANONNIE. THIS WAS EXACTLY THE REALITY THAT I WAS RUNNING AWAY FROM AJSKFDJKLFJSLF
ok ok. rationally. thinking about it rationally. for the past hween events, they had cater, vil, and jade as pt 1 and riddle, rook, and silver as pt 2. so looking at that pattern, it's 2 heartslabyuls, 2 pomefiores, and one octavinelle n one diasomnia SSR.
that means if you look at glorious masquerade pt 1, they have malleus, azul, and idia. azul was pretty much long overdue for a new SSR card since his last SSR was beans. i think it's safe to speculate that lilia will be getting a masquerade SSR for glorious masquerade pt 2, since he doesn't have an event card yet. so it's between having another octavinelle card or another ignihyde card.
though i do not want to, i'm leaning more towards another octavinelle card, only because ortho recently got his event SSR for FG if. and do you know what that means, anonnie ? do you know what that means ??? that means that the floyd leech might also be getting a masquerade SSR. ha. haha. octatrio triple hween SSRs my detested
(as for which dorm will claim the last spot for glorious masquerade pt 2,,,,,maybe kalim ? i would've said leona but he recently got his tsumsted SSR, so he's kinda out of the picture. unless they decide to bamboozle us and hit us with an ace SSR,,,,since he's basically the most due for an SSR after azul sjfksdjf)
