I am so sad right now. The Flowers From Tiamats Fire is one of my favorite books and now it ends after only two seasons as well as Gladiator Chronicles. I am in shock and I feel so so sad right now. I have finally watched The Goldfinch (unfortunately in italian, but I'll try to watch it in english asap) and i just need to share some thoughts.

I understand that it is a thousand pages book and it's impossible to fit everything into a 2 hours movie, and i knew i wasn't going to be a masterpiece, but i was still disappointed:

I can't believe they didn't put the museum scene in the beginning. I mean yeah, it's an interesting choice to put it throughout the movie and in the end, if only it wasn't THE most important thing to happen, the event that changes everything, before and after

Also i would have liked to see whole day before the explosion

Way too much Barbour screentime (and i already knew it), but still we know very few things about them

Too little Pippa, her relationship with a Theo is so superficial, it almost doesn't make sense

Way way way WAY way way and i can't stress this enough way too little Boris. I don't even know where to begin

And way too little alcohol and drugs, you almost don't notice that Theo is an addict, his relationship with drugs and all of his pain

Teen Wolf 6.12 Liveblog

I feel absolutely no sympathy for Theo here. Not an iota. I don’t know if I ever could anymore. (I similarly never felt like the twins redeemed themselves. Or Deucalion. But at least Deuc is entertaining because Gideon Emery has that voice and that ability to do both hammy and subtle acting. Cody seems like a nice, good looking young man who wants to do a good job at fleshing out a badly written one-note character, but he’s not particularly compelling.)

Wait, are they finally acknowledging some of the trauma my boy Scott has been through? What is this madness?!

SCOTT. SCOTTY MCCALL. DO NOT KEEP SECRETS. YOU KNOW THIS. YOU KNOW THIS SO WELL. Whyyyyy do these writers insist on Scott continually tripping over his feet in this way?!

I wondered why my dash wasn’t inundated with Teen Wolf stuff when I opened tumblr, but I am not wondering now that I’m more than halfway through the ep. This is one of those plot set-up episodes that wastes a lot of time building atmosphere to what will likely be an anti-climax. 

Did they seriously miss the opportunity to make a heartbreaking ‘guess my password shouldn’t have been Allison’ callback? 

Papa Posey’s character is straight-up evil, not just incompetent. That’s a shame. I preferred him in the AT&T ad/best ever skittles episode.

I wish this show spent more money on lighting. There is no decent reason why the station needs to be this murky. The deputies must be spending half their paychecks on optometry. (I know their insurance probably wouldn’t pay for it.)

I really like Lydia’s make-up in this episode. I've been enjoying her in this half of the season so far. MAYBE this will finally be the season they give us what they’ve been telling us in terms of her agency?

Malia’s awesome. I don’t think I will ever ship her and Scott, but I love her here.

SCOTT BEING SO SURPRISED SOMEONE CARES ABOUT HIM, oh my God, my poor darling.

I really adore JR Bourne, but one of my greatest secrets is that I kind of... don’t really care for Chris. I can’t quite forgive him for his hypocrisy and cruelty. Up until the moment we saw him tie up his own daughter to ‘train’ her, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I know he’s become an important ally, but... yeah. You know. He’s never truly apologised for his actions (and I know, literally NO ONE HAS on this show, so maybe I shouldn’t make it one of my metrics. But I somehow still do.) Anyway, his casual use of the gun here and his “take it easy, safety’s on” towards these two kids who he knows have seen unimaginable horrors, and have come to him because they are terrified, does not sit well with me. 

So have Liam, Mason and Corey forgotten about the skinless corpse they saw, or... ?

So is the thing the Hellhound came after a type of psychic vampire? Or the Nogitsune again? Why am I speculating? I know not to bother by now.

 I feel like it’s good to acknowledge the things people do out of fear, but if the writers don’t counter it... if they present people acting this way out of fear as being not only realistic but just, logical, and ultimately not to be condemned, then they are feeding into a dangerous mindset. Because, let’s be real, masses of people do some very stupid things because they’re afraid, and frequently that fear isn’t justified. The whole point of Teen Wolf so far has been that humans can be the real monsters -- not simply mythical creatures. It’s all about how you use your power that should determine your fate.
