Next, I'm probably gonna edit a little and then start on book 2. I have a vague idea of the plot, but I still need to work out some stuff (namely, I'm not sure if the protagonist needs to exist). Right now, I'm doing other stuff but I've printed out the 1st draft and I'm gonna read it. It's just that, due to being a 1st draft, it's not very good and it annoys me -_- (tbh I'm scared of not liking it when I do read it, which is stupid bc I literally came up with the plot and characters and worldbuilding)

I didn't actually plan for beta readers originally because I'm so used to working alone, but 2 of my irl friends volunteered (one of them told me she'd been thinking of me lately bc she can't find any interesting queer portuguese fantasy, which made me very happy, and the other basically said "i know you write weird shit, hand it over"). I'd extend the offer to my mutuals on here (bc I love you all <3) but I don't write in english, so yeah there's that.

But thank you so much!! DoS was my first experience writing with writeblr and it felt so good!! I loved seeing everyone's interest and support for it!!!! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

I bought a pack of blueberry muffins and I finished it like two weeks ago but now I’m like. Damn. You would have liked those muffins (or not bc if you ARE a blueberry muffin then eating one would be cannibalism. Hmmm).

Thank you to the ever lovely @bluberimufim for the tag! The name of the game is to share an excerpt that describes one of your ocs!

Menodora thinks she looks weird. It’s an issue she often has. Her cheek bones are soft, but her chin is sharp. Her eyes aren’t small, but they have a sort of sharpness to them. Her lips are plum, but end in hard lines. This outfit does nothing to end the debate with her features. The skirt makes her look soft, and the few more practical elements make her look harsher.

Ugh, was having a great time mocking my recently imprisoned rival when I noticed the camera positioning makes it so that I appear behind the bars, thus framing me as trapped in a metaphorical prison of the narrative, now my whole day is ruined. Fuck.

Heads Up 7 Up

We continue to take care of the tag games today. I was tagged by @little-peril-stories (check out her post here) and I'm gonna take the snippet from my current WIP, which is a fic, because otherwise it would have to be DoS and I don't want to show you anything from the final chapters (not bc it sucks, I just like it so much that I want to keep it secret for now)

So, without further ado, here's the last 7 lines I wrote:

There was noise outside the window. It was faint from how distant it was, but it grew louder every minute. Even from such a high floor of the prison, he could hear the racket on the ground. The other convicts stirred in their cells, faces glued to their windows in an attempt to see its source. It was a few minutes later that the sound became louder and louder - and closer. He could hear voices. Screams and exclamations. Footsteps. It sounded chaotic - and violent.

I was gonna do Theo but I've posted that snippet already (I think). So it's Dora time!!!

When she saw her, the first thing she thought was that she looked nothing like the posters. Her face was more stern and her gestures less gentle. When she untied her hair, it was not windswept and graceful in the slightest. Her features were almost similar to Theo's, only enough to see that they were sisters and for Seth to remember how much she missed her. It was a few seconds until she noticed Seth's presence. When she finally did and her eyes turned to her, she noticed they were just as dull and dead as Theo's when her soul was fading.

Wow. This is from before Dora cut her hair. I can barely imagine her having long hair anymore. I have to draw that sometime.

Did some watercolours that went absolutely terrible

I didn't make enough of one colour. Then the paint dried too quickly and started looking patchy. Then I changed my mind about the colours of a character's outfit halfway through. Then I DROPPED MY PAINTBRUSH ON THE DRAWING

I can't win. I'm going to bed. This is what I get for trying to paint in the middle of the night.
