The American Prospect: Paul Starr: The Crash of The New Republic
The American Prospect
I would put it differently and if I was writing for The American Prospect, well if I was writing for The American Prospect, they probably wouldn’t of published what I have to say about The New Republic, because I wasn’t backing the party line. But for the sake of this piece had I wrote this article at The Prospect about The New Republic I would’ve put it differently. I…
I have found that the biggest deterrent to assholes is asking "why?" Over and over.
"We can't have universal healthcare!"
Why?
"Because I don't wanna pay for a strangers health!"
Why?
"Because if they can't afford their own health care that isn't my problem!"
Why?
And so on and so on. Keep making them dig. Keep making them explain until they can't anymore and are faced with nothing but the ugly mask of bias and prejudice. Only then can they truly see that taking it off is an option. Whether they do or not is up to them. And that choice tells you whether they deserve more of your energy or not.
Trans kids can't be trans. Why? Why not? Why?
Free food is bad for ppl. Why? Why? Why? Why is feeding ppl bad?
Why?
Why is helping one another bad?
Why is doing what humans are genetically designed to do, to help and care for one another to ensure survival, bad?
Here is the video of tens of thousands of Congolese people gathering at a cobalt mine:
If you aren't conscious about the products you consume, you should be. Congolese people should have never had to and never have to do this enslaved labour. This is beyond hyper-exploitation, violence, and abuse of power by western imperialist entities and corporations. Until this whole system charges, boycott big tech. Don't change your phone or lap tops every year (although that in itself is a privilege), and demand these companies like Apple be accountable for the blood they have on their hands.
