Grayson and his sisters head cannon
Just a head cannon I have had in my head about if Grayson had stayed with his father for a few months when he was growing up. And how he would have interacted with his sisters. (And maybe some with Acacia and his father as well)
Hope you like it.
Not too long after the twins were born, Acacia insisted that Grayson meet his half-sisters. At first, he was very shy and nervous, but after holding them he fell in love with them.
One time Acacia and Sheffield went on a date, leaving barely four-year-old Grayson alone with his sisters. (With a nanny of course!) When they returned, they found him standing over their crib just watching them. Like a guardian angel.
He was very protective of them, never leaving them out of his sight, even though he was only 3 years older then them. And when Gigi went one way and Savannah the other he would panic because he didn't know how to watch over them.
Acacia would have to consol him, letting him know it's ok. After he called down, she would take him into the kitchen and they would make cookies together.
He was one of those brothers that played tea parties and doll house with his sisters, even though he didn't want to.
Savannah would make him hold their bags as they drank their tea.
Though used to rough housing with his brothers, he is ever the gentleman with his sisters. Though he did consider tackling Savannah once. (But he never did)
He is very good at braiding and would help his sisters do their hair when they needed it. Though Savannah stopped asking for help after she was 4. Insisting she can do it herself.
Graysin visited less often when he got older, but tried to go over at least 3 times a year. Staying for two weeks.
Him and Savannah would have basketball competitions. Trying to bond with her. She always won. And even though she never admitted it, she enjoyed having someone to compete with.
Sitting on the roof with Gigi eating a Twix was one of his favorite memories. Just chatting about life. She told him how her life was going and he told her how it was going back at Hawthorne House.
Acacia always made sure she set aside to talk with her step-son. She got him to slowly open up, and he trusts her with his life. (And Grayson doesn't trust easily, or at all)
Occasionally one of Grayson's brothers would come over with him. (Mostly Xander) Him and Gigi are best buds. Always getting into trouble. Which causes no end of frustration to Grayson and Savannah.
Gigi always gave him a huge hug before left. Which Grayson loves.
Even though happy to be back home with his brothers, Grayson would secretly count down the days he would go back and see his sisters.
Okay, that's it for now! Enjoy!

You know, for all I love The Inheritance Games as it is because of the storyline that we were introduced to, I still can’t help but wonder what it would have been like if Avery hadn’t inherited it all. What if she got a significantly smaller amount but still a decently large sum, say a billion, that still made the Hawthornes question her? Would she still have sparked their interest if it was only a few thousands?
Was there the chance that Grayson, Skye, Zara, or whoever would have paid a private investigator look into her after she left? What if someone started tailing her after that? Or, spinning that idea on its head, what if we started the story with an investigation into Avery because her name is mentioned in the will and that's how she gets dragged to Texas in the first place? I'm sure they were questioning her ties with Tobias Hawthorne even before she met the family.
Then comes the question of what could have been with the letters after the reading and if the mystery was much the same because of Avery’s involvement. Would she have stayed behind after reading her letter on behalf of the family asking or one of the grandsons because of the clues indicating a game which gave insight into the old man's doing? What if she left for Connecticut but shortly thereafter, Jameson or Xander either contacted her by somehow getting her phone number or coming in person via private jet to confront her about what writing she received in her letter. I believe that if it happened in that way, Xander would come because he needs to lure her back for Jameson and Grayson’s game. Jameson, on the other hand, would pester her because he knows for sure that his grandfather left her a clue of sorts and probably believes that he needs her for the game. Though Avery may object at first, I think she’d probably get invested; the only issue is how would this mystery solving go because she isn’t confined to staying a year at Hawthorne House and she literally lives in a different state and goes to a different school which still demands her attention. It’s somewhat of a plot hole but I think a clever writer can come up with a plausible idea for this.
Yet, so many other questions remain: how big of a target would she be here? Would more specific people in her life be targeted rather than just everybody she cares about in general? How much more dangerous would Drake be? How hard would Avery have to fight to convince Libby to leave him? Would she be able to do it or would Nash somehow intervene? Would it be on the behalf of one of his brothers letting him know, if they ended up interacting with Avery anyways or maybe via a PI? Would Toby still be around disguised as Harry to keep an eye on Avery but conveniently disappear when any of the Hawthornes were present with her? Would a bunch of the clues be different and more importantly, how centered would the mystery be on Avery? Would it be easy for her to still connect with the Hawthorne grandsons because she has a chance to still have her space and freedom or would it be harder? Would Grayson and Jameson still get attached in a love triangle with her? Would Sheffield Grayson become a threat to Avery again? Would Eve and Vincent Blake also get involved? What would we find out about Hannah and Kaylie? What if Hannah was still alive when the old man died, how would the story go then? What if all the fathers were involved in the game?
I think all these questions are awesome prompts for fanfiction and have great potential as alternate plots. Comment some of your own thoughts on this.

So I’ve been thinking, one thing that never made sense to me was why Tobias made Grayson believe that he would be the heir, especially after reading tbh and seeing Tobias say the words “it is going to be you”.
[SPOILERS FOR THE BROTHERS HAWTHORNE]
That never made sense to me bc he said that it would BE Grayson, but he also never said the words “inheritance”, so clearly he meant something else.
I also find it intresting that earlier in that chapter (ch. Eight years ago, after ch. 49) that Grayson said “bc. I’m a Hawthorne” and Tobias said “no”….he told gray he wasn’t a Hawthorne…..he also said that “Xander is a Hawthorne,” the old man said intently. “Nash is a Hawthorne. Jameson is a Hawthorne. But you…”
So tobias didn’t think grayson was a Hawthorne then what is he?
At first I thought maybe he meant Grayson was a GRAYSON, like Sheffield, BUT tobias probably doesn’t have much respect for Sheffield and would see him as lesser so why would he believe Grayson was a “GRAYSON”…..
Then I realized what if he sees Gray as an O’day….like Alice…..and what if by “it is going to be you” Tobias meant that, it will be Grayson who finds Alice and convinces her to return or helps her heal and return to her family or something like that.
I think grayson inherited more of the O’day genes than any of his siblings. The rest of them all sort of look like their dads, but I’ve tried to find a description of Sheffield and I couldn’t find one but I don’t think it was ever mentioned that he was blonde just that he had Graysons eyes but that’s it.
Some might point at savanna to prove gray did inherit his looks from their dad BUT Grayson pointed out that sav got her hair from her mom as soon as he met her.
Gray most likely got his blonde hair from Skye AND Skye probably inherited it from Alice O’day….so Grayson is more of an O’day which would explain why Tobias pushed him to be more bc he saw his Alice in him and wanted him to live up too his potential bc he belived his Alice was better than he was and pushed gray to be that too…but idk I still have SOO many questions about that man. The more I learn about him the more questions I have about ALL of Tobias Hawthornes words and actions
What do y’all think?

i've seen so much content on grayson and whoever the phone girl is, the masquerade ball, and (perhaps) the one bed trope. BUT i have not seen a singular post on alice hawthorne being alive. like is that not a shock to ya'll? ALICE HAWTHORNE IS ALIVE???? and also eve that demon spawn? that mf is probably somehow gonna expose that sheffield grayson's dead to savannah and ruin their just healed (half) brother-sister relationship? i swear i physically hurl when i hear the word eve, thats how much i hate on her and emily. the both of them genuinely just exist to give grayson (and jameson) severe trauma. especially grayson, my man has not recovered, and the description of the grandest game scares me. grayson's emotions? my man has literally bottled up his emotions since he exited the womb, that's gonna be a harsh journey (im looking forward to it). avery's doing some charlie and the chocolate factory shit and im so into it. ive been maniacally hunting for easter eggs on the cover, bringing my swiftie (clowning) senses to tig. im on the edge of my seat jennifer. ive been waiting for like 6 months too long 😔 when's the paperback pre-order on amazon gonna open 🫠

Few things to remember from The Brothers Hawthorne
Libby and Nash are engaged.
Nash is the only person who calls Grayson ‘kid’.
Gigi’s real name is Juliet.
Phone Girl’s last name is ‘Thomas’.
Xander’s is the only father who is worth calling a father.
Sheffield Grayson has pictures of Grayson, growing up.
Jameson sleep-walked when he was a kid.
Savannah is a female version of Grayson.
Gigi has short brown curly hair.
Tobias Hawthorne always compared Grayson and Jameson.
Grayson doesn’t believe in ‘love at first sight’.
The grandest game is being designed by jamie <3

I would just like to give appreciation for John Oren, best and most loyal bodyguard. Although the security had its faults and flaws but he protected Avery from danger including people like Ricky Grambs, Skye Hawthorne, Sheffield Grayson, The Blakes and most importantly, Jameson Hawthorne.

I dare you to let me go
(This is part 7 of my fic. Enjoy reading!)
Part 6 ↓
AVERY
The next two months may have been the worst time of Avery's life. Poverty, attempts on her life, pressure of the world, nothing compared to this. She threw herself even more into her work, tried not to be in the house that suddenly felt so lonely. Jameson and her didn't spend every waking moment together, even before everything went to hell, but he'd always be there. Making mischief, speeding cars on the track, sunbathing in the solarium or jumping off of his beloved climbing wall. She could feel him being there, and that was a great comfort. Now it felt so empty.
Jameson was still in the UK. He had come home for Christmas and New Year's, though. But the Hawthorne House was big enough for him to never see her.
She had to do something. Just because he told her to go away doesn't mean she'd just obey.
The next day, Alisa was in her office with Gray.
"Alisa. I need you to research every loophole on this."
The next few hours, the for of them discussed every possible outcome regarding her… proposition.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Avery?" Grayson asked her, even though he jumped on board with the idea.
"Yes."
------------------------------------------------
"Hey, Priscilla."
"Oh dear! Get inside, you all."
"That's okay. Is Jameson not home?" That was Xander, peeking in.
"Oh no, sweetie. He's in London. He had been since his mot was here two weeks ago."
Avery frowned. "A mot?"
"The blonde one."
"What's her name?"
"Don't know, girl. Mario tells me she's the Countess of Caithness. Real charmer."
Mario was the security at the front gate. No doubt they'd talked around. Even the media had gotten the hint they weren't together anymore. Their theories only made her feel worse.
Avery tried to mask her disappointment. He was flying around the globe like it was a ball, but he'd only come home for the sake of holidays. Just when she'd tracked him down, he was in London.
She was nervous on the flight there, and Xander tried using his distraction skills to it's best.
"What do you think he's doing in London? You know, other than getting into trouble."
Avery ignored that and voiced her fears thoughts instead, "do you think he's dating someone?"
"Probably." Said Lyra, casually sipping on her Manhattan. "What? It could happen. He's single and a Hawthorne. It could even be that blonde." She shrugged when Grayson glared at her.
-------------------------------------------------
Jameson was not in his apartment, not at the mercy, and not with Simon. Max had stumbled into a famous bookstore. After Avery started panicking again, Lyra tried to redeem herself for her previous taunting, and dragged them to her favourite bar place in the city.
"You need to chill. Come on, the Manhattan on the flight has started losing its effect, anyway."
Inside the club, called The Onyx, Avery realised how fucked up a sense of humour life had, when she saw Jameson… with a girl.
"We did not go through so much trouble with Sheffield Grayson just for you to commit murder yourself," Grayson said, warning Avery, her dagger eyes on Jameson and the pretty blonde sitting together. He proceeded to say something that made them both laugh a lot and she touched his arm. It was his real laugh, which only made her more jealous.
"Gray's right. Max says it's harder to hide bodies in winter." Why Max knew that, no one knew. "Besides, don't you need to, you know, be married to be Countess?"
"Caithness is in Scotland, Xan. Some women there can just inherit the title. As a matter of fact, she's on google. Unmarried." She showed him a Wikipedia page.
While Lyra and Xan kept chattering, Jameson had spotted them. She waved at him. They got up and came toward them.
The blonde put out her hand, "Bridget. Nice to meet you." Avery put aside the most vivid fantasies she had sitting there of pulling the hand that touched him and burn it, and shook it instead. "Avery."
After initial introductions, avery excused herself to the bathroom.
Stay cool, calm, and collected.
"Heiress."
Avery turned around to see Jameson standing there. She turned around slowly to face him. He looked so beautiful, it hurt. His eyes seemed brighter, somehow. And his face and posture looked more relaxed, like when you water a drying plant. She felt equal parts guilty and ashamed that it took him leaving her to feel like himself again.
"I have to tell you something." He just nodded. Her heart was thumping rapidly in her chest.
"I gave up the Hawthorne foundation. It officially belongs to Grayson now." Jameson was shocked. He blinked twice, as if it wasn't real and all in his head.
"How? I thought you couldn't-"
"I told you, I'm not letting you go. Not now, not ever. But i had too many expectations from too many people. I had to release some of it. So, I researched every loophole the past couple of months, and made it official, it can't be undone now. And i wouldn't have it any other way." She always knew the Hawthorne foundation was what Grayson really missed about losing the inheritance, and she had her own foundation, her own purpose.
She kept talking, if he wasn't going to.
"So, your girlfriend's nice." The best way to cut out the awkward parts, according to her, was to rip off the bandaid asap.
“I'm not here on a date. Bridget's just a friend,” Jameson said in a small voice.
“Then why…”
"Why did Priscilla say-" his eyes glittered with emotion.
“Because I knew you'd ask her. Because I'm afraid of getting too attached again. I've been fighting against my still-consistent longing for you, and I almost gave in. I don’t…” He inhaled a shuddering breath.
“I’m scared I’ll go back and lose myself again. I’m scared you’ll get comfortable and take back you're words. I can’t go through that a second time, Avery. I can’t.” Avery put her hands on his neck.
"I won't, Jameson. I'll never take us back to that time." She pressed her forehead against his.
“Give us another chance,” she said. “One last chance. I promise I won’t hurt you. I know my promises don’t mean much to you anymore, and that's entirely my own doing, but tell me what you want me to do, and I’ll do it.”
This time, it was her who waited. Waited for so long, she wasn't sure he'd even heard her. When it became clear he wasn't going to say anything, she turned around.
"Heiress."
She hadn't even turned around halfway before Jameson grabbed her hand to gently pulled her toward him…
And kissed her.

Spoiler Warning: The Brothers Hawthorne Epilogue and The Grandest Game Theory
Guys, I think we should talk. For those of us who read The Brothers Hawthorne, it's rather obvious that Eve is still at large and based on the epilogue we got, she's going to become a major threat again. Now, we know that clearly Grayson's half-sisters are going to get swept into this and I'm pretty sure it's evidence of Eve's vendetta at Grayson directly and indirectly at Avery. I'm sure that Savannah will be the Grayson sister that's mostly involved as the bait while Gigi goes to her older brother for help. But that's not really concern of this post.
What is the concern is that Eve knows Avery's secret regarding the whereabouts of Sheffield Grayson. She knows he's dead and that Avery is among the last people that saw him and also knows what happened to the man. In The Final Gambit, she was under a vow of silence because her great-grandfather, Vincent Blake, lost to Avery and under her conditions as winner, the secret of what happened to Grayson's father would be kept under wraps. With that, supposedly, our Hawthorne heiress gets her happy ending; none of the people she loves is in danger anymore except Toby, the year is up, she gets her inheritance, donates a bunch of it, creates a charity, travels the world with her boyfriend, done deal. Ideal, right? Whelp, not anymore. TBH concludes with Vincent Blake passing away and Eve was his designated heir so she now has complete control over the family fortune. Uh-oh, what does that sound like? Someone's in danger again of having their secret spilled. Eve is no longer tied down by Vincent's agreement with Avery and by all means, she could expose Sheffield's mysterious disappearance. And the thing is, I think she will.
Why do I bring that up? Because I think a fairly good foreshadowing of this in TBH is when Avery goes to talk with Gray near the end of the book and they have a moment of reflection on the aftermath. They both said that even if it was a big media circus, they could have dealt with it and that probably would have died down anyways. However, in their reality, they have not, they covered it up and have to continue keeping that secret or everything unfolds and Avery becomes liable. Which is exactly why I think that this is where part of Eve's involvement in The Grandest Game and further on in the series will lead up to. The epilogue shows from her perspective how much she envies Avery and how she is surrounded by the Hawthorne brothers but I think what stings her most is Grayson's loyalty to her. She thought she had at least him to manipulate and when the truth was out, he left her too. We know that she doesn't really have anyone's loyalty from Blake's personal security, only Slater but even he seems to be potentially set up from the get go to leave her with the obvious hints of a romance subplot with Gigi. Maybe he'll be at odds with Grayson but for Gigi, he could easily leave if things turn too dark with what happens to Savannah, if anything does, that is.
But yeah, that's my theory for TGG and I hope you enjoyed it. What are your thoughts on this?

This is going to be a long one...
Okay, can we talk about the rounds of chess matches that happened in Vincent Blake's ranch at the end of TFG?
So it was:
- Toby vs Avery
- Toby vs Eve
- Avery vs Eve
And these were the conditions:
Win Both
Toby - he'd get to go back in hiding and no one would be ever the wiser on who he was and what he was doing.
Avery - she'd get to get Grayson back from "captivity", her loved ones wouldn't be threatened again and Sheffield Grayson's case would be kept a secret (therefore not threatening her and Oren's positions)
Eve - she'd win all five seals aka the keys to Blake's kingdom
Win one, Lose one
Toby - he would have to announce his existence as Toby Hawthorne
Avery - Blake would let Grayson go and never hurt her loved ones again, but the Sheffield Grayson case would be exposed
Eve - she would only win one seal
Lose Both
Toby - become Tobias Blake of his own will and stay in the ranch forever
Avery - she'd have to do Blake a favour (blank check $$$)
Eve - Blake would let her be in the service of whoever he gave her to (that sounds pretty unnerving esp the analogy he lives by that is "boys will always be boys" like I don't even wanna imagine what he would do to her)
If we observe all the terms closely, the person with the least to lose if they lost both matches was actually Toby. If Eve lost both, like I said, something ugly would happen. If Avery lost, she could damn easily lose her inheritance if Blake just said he wanted everything. So Toby decided to throw Eve's match because he didn't want her to lose both and warned Avery during their match to not be overconfident. Which meant that he was pretty set on protecting both his daughters which led to him becoming Tobias Blake.
I personally believe that Toby didn't want to win the match against Avery because he didn't want to come back as a Hawthorne (as I believe that he was ashamed of his father's actions and he wanted nothing to do with the name).
On the other hand, the person with the most to gain if they won both, would be Avery since Eve would probably (she should) have been okay with just one seal. But as we know, Ave had plans of her own so she threw her match and let Eve win.
What I'm saying is... I think Blake set Toby up because he knew that Toby would choose to protect his daughters. Taking that into account, the person who'd win both would either be Avery or Eve and at this point, Avery would have more to lose than Eve. I feel like he expected Avery to beat Eve since the results of that would allow him to still have control of the board.
Avery would win both but as she mentioned through the thoughts in her head, Blake could still get her via other methods. Eve would only win one which meant Blake still had four other seals and as Blake is most likely biased towards males (so he probably thinks females are incompetent), he would just give them to other people.
But at the end of the day, Avery was just too smart for him to handle so he didn't have a choice but to have a truce with her.
Moral of the story, don't mess with the Heiress.
