I made a YouTube series where I’m going to be going through D1 as a new character! I’ve never played Titan much, so I’m giving it a good go with this new series! Her name is Selne, and this will be her origin story! 

Originally, I made this for my dad, cause everyone in my immediate family plays it except him and my mom. But he seemed interested in the lore when he overheard us talking about it. So, I tried to make a YouTube series for him to watch at work so he could understand the world of Destiny and grow to love it like we did.  However.  I forgot my dad has no emotional attachment or pride in his children and couldn’t care less about the things we do....so now I make this for me! is an ARC trooper, used to work with the Shadows then got brutally injured and had to transition to the CG. owes his life to Quinlan Vos and is disgruntled about it. guard dog coded. his bite is exponentially bigger than his bark. on the surface: quick to laugh, quick to joke, charismatic and personable without being overbearing. this may or may not be a mask he wears. will lay a beat down on just about anyone if they Cause Issues for Fox. in the relationship of all time with Lane Hurosa (another of my ocs)

Bones (sw):

is marshal commander of the 410th recon corps under Bastra Vargdan (another of my ocs). traits include: CQC specialist, confounded by the concept of the Force, at least partly responsible for getting a gambling ring going in the GAR (has a poke face like nobody's business). outside of working hours, he's laid back, easygoing. stark contrast between On-Duty Bones and Off-Duty Bones. encyclopedic knowledge of regs, but flexible adherence to them sometimes. big brained tactical strategist, ended up teaching Bastra a Lot about like. how to lead a corps

Bastra (sw):

my Jedi 👉👈 trained by Sifo-Dyas so dookudyas is very dad-coded to him. specialized as an Investigator, excels at undercover ops. also has quite a bit of integration into my friends' oc arcs and stuff <3 buddies with Obi-Wan, gets on pretty well with the TG and CG since he spends a chunk of his time on Coruscant. ummmm he takes a Padawan like 10ish years before the war, somewhere in that range. he's a goofy guy, real stiff and formal a lot of the time but it lets up around people he trusts. of course I know him, he's me etc etc. he's currently getting transplanted into cp2077

Lane (sw):

is a journalist on Coruscant. they spend a Lot of time in the senate district, very good at schmoozing. certified flatterer. charming, if you will. always asking one million questions that senators do Not want to answer, which results in bans from various spots around the city LOL honestly they're just neat idk what to tell you. they stay following risky leads and getting themself into binds. they're squinting very hard at the details of how the Republic acquired a clone army

Myn (sw):

is a smuggler in the early Rebellion era. also a relentless optimist, sees the very first scraps of resistance and buys in immediately. IF somehow Nocte’s alive at that point, Myn's the one who tries and probably fails to sell him on participating in the rebellion

Vio Selnes (sw):

owns and operates a 24h diner on Coruscant. this diner gets heavy business from clones leaving 79s. connections to the clones leads to scattered connections with the Jedi, leads to the restaurant being used as a rendezvous point from time to time. part of Dexter Jettster's network

Jag (mk):

is part of the Kahn Guard when Kotal's in power. he was raised by the Shaolin Monks until he bailed, moved to the States, got into all sorts of illicit activities. Kung Jin eventually moves onto his couch and joins his crew. those illicit activities land him in a stint with the Black Dragon, which is a real lesson in Kano Is A Bastard. when Erron jumps ship, Jag goes with him. he's kind of an idiot, full of trussed issues, gay as hell, will bring a knife to a gunfight or a gun to a knife fight

Rose (mk):

is part of Danver's crew from before he went BD. the brains of that whole operation. she's severely underdeveloped unfortunately but I promise she's very cool. computer nerd. minimal filter on her in the best way

Eyes (cp2077):

is a ripperdoc with more focus on ripping than doc-ing. from Pacifica, got a long time connection to Mr. Hands. wound up in Maelstrom pretty young, cut his teeth on committing atrocities and revolutionizing Maelstrom's uhhh forcible cyberware implantations and general torture methods :) was real loyal to Brick, so Royce wrecked his shit when he took over, meant to kill him but he managed to get out. winds up on Viktor Vektor's table for recovery, tries very hard to turn over a new leaf. he's a fucked up bastard of a guy I shan't lie. compels me though

So I wanted to get my dad in on Destiny, because he half listens to my brother and I talk about it's lore and the things we do. But he always complained he never understood but it sounded cool. He also complains he never has time to play games anymore

So I decided to play a Titan for the first time, starting in D1 and record it as I play.

My dad won't watch hours upon hours of people playing games, hell he won't even watch me for more than a minute or so, so a whole playthrough isn't feasible lol

I decided to try and make a Destiny Show following Selne, my Awoken Titan on my YouTube for him to watch.

I was super proud of the "previously on" bit I'd worked so hard on, and asked to cast it to the living room TV from my phone so he and my mom could see it at once on a big screen.

he ignored it and then got mad cause I didn't immediately know how to turn off the youtube app on his living room TV (his is different from mine). I figured it out, and it was a relatively simple fix (we'd been using the wrong remote, out of 4 🙄)

After I fixed it?

He snapped at me and got visibly red in the face and told me "never, ever do that again." (Cast YouTube to the TV) and refused to say anything about the video I was so proud of.

I got a "oh, you made that? Cool." Passive comment from my mom 😮‍💨

So fuck it.

This is for me now. (And those who enjoy it on YouTube.)

Nocte is the one I probably talk about the most :) he's CMO of the Coruscant Guard and the oc I've had the longest! he's Gruff Protective Brother and Soft Dad Shaped. he uhhhh has a situationship with Kit (Fisto) and then gets absorbed into the Empire after O66

Uj'alayi is an ARC trooper who was assigned to the Shadows and then reassigned to the Guard. he lost his arm during an assignment with Quinlan :) and he gets turned purge trooper after O66

Lān'drien (Lane) Hurosa is a twi'lek journalist on Coruscant who mostly does investigative work. they date Uj off and on throughout the war :) if they live long enough, they go on to meet Hera and Kanan and co during the Rebellion

Bastra Vargdan is a Dathomirian Jedi Investigator. he was raised/trained by Sifo-Dyas (and Dooku ofc bc they're husbands), grew up with Obi-Wan and Quinlan, works with the 212th in Some capacity during the war. he survives O66 but at what cost :)

Vio Selnes owns and operates a 24hr breakfast diner on Coruscant :) she gives discounts to the GAR, is buddies with Dex, and often hosts troopers who leave 79s early in the morning and need food in them stat

Kat Guthvani is a leader in the early days of the Rebellion :) I have an abandoned fic that starts with her busting Cody out of the Imperial Army. I also paired her with Rebellion-era Ahsoka. they are in lesbians

Buzz is Nocte's unofficial second in command medic guy :) he's my most beloved bald bastard (affectionate) man. for some reason he tends to click well with people Nocte struggles with

Amy(gdala) is a young medic in the Guard. she and Lex were basically adopted by Nocte

Krayt is a medic in the 212th and he's genuinely a dick :) dude has no idea how to bedside manner

Griffin is one of Fox's batchmates who ended up in the Kamino Guard/KamSec for the first half of the war. it was Bad. there was a lot of experimentation done on him before he got away. he goes to Coruscant afterward

OH and then there's Nocte's old squad !! because he was originally trained to be the designated medic for an ARF team. it fell apart when the war started and they got scattered

Vee was the oldest, the CC, he was deployed to the 212th (Foxtrot Group). he was KIA on Sarrish

Diem was like. Nocte's twin. the sniper. he went to the 501st and was KIA on Geonosis

Hard Knox was the demolitions expert. he was KIA when Ventress took the Tranquility

Tether was the sniper. he and Nocte were like 🤞. he was KIA by friendly fire on Umbara

SELN Celebrates 17 years!

This July, the State Employment Leadership Network (SELN) kicked off membership year 17!

The SELN is a collaborative effort between the ICI and the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS). Currently, 25 state intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) agencies have committed to improving integrated employment outcomes for the 2022-2023 membership year.

These IDD agencies connect, collaborate, and share information and lessons learned across state lines and system boundaries. The SELN fosters cross-community support around important employment-related policies at the state and federal levels.

Each year, the ICI and NASDDDS help each state develop customized work plans around integrated employment initiatives to meet their unique needs.
