I keep seeing fic with words censored in the body of the fic like so: c*nt, f*gg*t, q-slur (seriously, come on), r*pe, *nc*st. I even saw a fic where someone was described as “sitting next to his unalived body” which was so absurd it made me laugh.

I’ve seen this trend in tags as well, which would be ACTIVELY FUCKING DANGEROUS if AO3 tag wranglers weren’t literal, actual angels who make sure that “rape” and “r*pe” (and all such transpositions) are treated like the same tag.

AO3 isn’t TikTok. Tag accurately and completely for your fic themes so people can search AND filter. Use the correct words in your fic content so people who use blacklist extensions can actually benefit from the tools that protect them.

If you don’t feel comfortable using a word without censoring it, then don’t use that word at all. Maybe consider why you’re even writing something that contains that theme.

Bot accounts and Real people with accounts.

I’m pretty sure the tumblr community is well aware of this problem and probably loads of other people have already made posts about this, so I’ll keep it brief.

So recently blogs like this keep appearing in my followers list (these are recent ones)

Now when you get a spam blogs or p*rn bots you’re supposed to blog them. But some these blogs are actual people who are new on tumblr and have the default icon, so you’re supposed to check before who block them. But here’s the problem…

some of these blogs don’t have anything. No posts, No description, No title. So you’re gonna automatically assume that these are spam and block them.

Now I hate fact that some of these blogs belong to actual people and I’ve been blocking and reporting on blogs like these for the past few days, and that they’re probably wondering why there being blocked or reported. ( sorry to the people who own blogs like these that I blocked you)

So a couple of tips for new blogs on this site,

1.You could change the title (a catchphrase, a favorite quote, a random sentence etc.) or type small description, or whatever random stuff you like!

2. You could change the your avator or icon (it be a picture of you, a cartoon, again it’s your choice do whatever)

3.If you’re not planning to frequently post stuff and just sign in to check out other people’s stuff, just put a put a post something like this just to show you’re new here.(again u can write down anything)

I'm sorry but how are "episodes" any different than "seasons" but with more time crunch?

Seasons rn are 80 some odd days each and release new missions on a weekly basis. You can do all the missions on the last week if you so choose to not have to be held back.

"episodes" are 126 days in total because you'll have 3 sets of miniature seasons called "acts" that last 42 days (6 weeks) and is entirely available upon the release of the "act".

I've been informed each "episode" is gonna be $15.

Also, will they be vaulted eventually? Like seasons and expansions past? Will Episode Echos be taken when Revenant or Heresy comes out? What about after that? Will they be regulated to tl;dr missions like past expansions to try and keep the story coherent?

Also, the banners begin to make me think there will be episodes in the future that will have some things not included, so they use the icons to let you know what is/isn't included when they show a photo like this to plan out the next 3 "episodes"

I was told "They're free if you pay for the $100+ edition of the expansion" but honestly I feel like that's pissing on the players?

For that much you could go buy BG3 (or almost 2 other games if any kind since a lot of games are $60-70) and spend far more time and get much more enjoyment and less recycled content. And with BG 3 there wouldn't be any micro/macro transactions?

Am I alone in feeling like they just chopped up seasons, called it acts and put them together to call them episodes? It just feels like seasons with extra steps, more fomo and for more money?

That showcase was super skuffed and tbh I'm not impressed 😮‍💨

The good

The lfg system looks extensive and well though out. It's a QoL we've been waiting on for years tbh. Glad to see it finally implemented instead of relying on LFG groups on third party apps or message boards

The cinematics in Destiny Showcases are always amazing but it looked like there were some great call backs to things like the live action trailers during D1 era and the landscape inside the traveler (called Pale Heart) looks gorgeous and thought provoking. They nailed the nostalgia.

The bad

I want to know more about these "missions" that are supposed to be edited tl;Dr recaps of entire expansions. Because from my understanding, that's what they'll be. They've edited an entire season down to one mission that will fill you in on what happened and why it's important if you came after it.

I want to know how "episodes" are any different than "seasons". Is the content more bite size? Will the price go down as well? Will the content be bigger but slower released? Will there be a price increase? Or will it be about the same and price remain unchanged?

The ugly

The seasonal armor looks like the devs rolled them through a cow pasture in white/brown armor and then told them to stand up lol 🤣

what d2 does with the question of humanity, of sentience and who deserves light and who gets to decide who is worthy of it. felwinter becoming the guardian. clovis bray searching for immortality, and then rasputin's own code getting it. comedy, satire, whatever. top tier. the traveler looked on it and said, i want that to have light.

and then rasputin kills his own son.

clovis bray, always obsessed with this search of misdirected perfection, foreverness, he's literally a hollow husk of his own creation, full of bitterness and regrets, and neither means nor desire to change it. he has no appreciation of art, history, culture, it's washed away by a twisted genius.

and there's rasputin. his found love for... everything. his love for fucking music. grumpy old man, loving classical music and making it sound like horror, but whatever. with love. he wanted to see the world. he wanted to save it, because it was worth doing so, because his family asked him to - and he loves his family. because he is not clovis bray, but his creation, and he will not be him.

he has regrets. and has love.

and that one time the traveler decided a part of him deserved the light.

on a serious note regarding the wga strike and (as of 1:50 AM PST 7/13) upcoming sag-aftra strike, dsa-la has a fundraiser called The Snacklist which provides snacks and water on the picket lines here in LA. right now the funds they have will not last through the end of the summer, especially given the current and upcoming heatwaves necessitating more supplies. if you have a couple of dollars to spare it's a great way to directly support the writers (and potentially the actors) during this difficult time!
