Season 2 Episode 2 "Play It Again Clawd" Spoilers ahead!

Selena and Apollo are good parents, but they make the mistake of, Selena in particular, of not talking this through with Clawd and taking the tradition away from him. As evidenced by Selena literally taking his cake from him to have Clawdeen blow out the candles.

This episode was so good in what it was portraying. Do Clawdeen and Apollo want to enjoy the Friday the 13th festivities with Clawd and Selena? Yes, they absolutely do! But they also recognize that this is a special thing between the two that they don't need to be a part of right now or maybe ever. Both Clawd and Clawdeen are honest about their feelings about one another and even Selena gets in on the sharing and their feelings of upset and discontent aren't met with "I am hurt this feel like an attack on me personally." They are met with."Yeah, that's really reasonable. I'm sorry you feel that way. How can we fix it?" In the case of Clawd and Clawdeen. Selena gets left to the wayside, but this show is about the kids, not the adults.

Anyway, G3 W can't wait for more.

We're three days away from the Monster High season 1 finale, and with all the information we have now, I wanted to reiterate my theories on the whole shapeshifting situation. Major spoilers below the cut!

So, I first saw the whole shapeshifting thing in this photo.

I've mentioned it in a previous post, but this immediately reminded me from a moment in Monster Match, when Lagoona mentions the excitement for the Monster Ball reminded her of her favorite telenovela, "Except it had parallel realities, long lost brothers, treasure hunts in caves, and shapeshifters impersonating loved ones."

Clawdeen says that sounds scarily similar to what they've been through this semester, except the last part.

That last part stuck with me. It feels more than a throw away joke. It feels like foreshadowing. After some discussion, I've come up with two theories.

A) this

Is not actually Selena. It's the shapeshifter. This was my idea on how we, the audience, find this out"

""Selena", after spending some time with "her" kids, makes some excuse and walks off into another room. We, the audience, see her expression drop from joy to either indifference or annoyance once she's alone. Then, uh-oh, she suddenly changes shape, and it's revealed that it's not actually Selena. After a moment, Clawdeen calls out for her, and then the shapeshifter turns back into Selena and says something like, "coming!" before walking back out."

Then, theres B): That is actually Selena, and the shapeshifter escapes at some point after her. @the-lavender-creator suggested it could be a bug, as Selena is a pest control specialist in Beheme (can't remember where that's mentioned but I thiiink Clawd must've mentioned it at some point).

Either way, I think both theories could have some really good potential for like. angst. Imagine if Theory A is true- can you imagine the heartbreak the Wolf family will go through? They thought they finally freed Selena, only to find out... it wasn't even her.

Also, shenanigans can ensue for both, as the shapeshifter could switch identities, sowing the seeds of distrust and causing misunderstandings between loved ones, and perhaps the shapeshifter will try to take over the werecounsels via the wereruler elections!

That's really everything I have for now, but if I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add it!
