I know it may be my weird overthinking things...
However, is it just me or does Simons and Bettys relationship like similar to Scotts and Ramonas relationship?
Like many scenes (like the one above) I see and read about the couples almost give off the same energy. Of course one of the relationships ends with them together, as the other they could not fully be together.
Simon and Scott both failed at understanding their partners, they both made them question about their relationship status. The both had difficulty with others around them, usually blocking them out as they focused on what is ahead of them now.
Betty and Ramona deal with loving someone that is difficult to love. As the one they love has a hard time showing their affection back. They both suffer with not understanding or knowing what to exactly do to continue, making them leave their partner for a short time. Sooner understanding themselves better to try again with their relationships.
However, the only difference is Scott got successful as he and Ramona deal with their own issues early enough to save their relationship. Unlike Simon and Betty, who were too late to save their life and relationship. Simon later on, too late discovers what he could have done, but accepts what happens and deals with his issues.
Like the anime of Scott Pilgrim, Older Scott has to also do something similar. Of course in a way different way, but he has to accept his mistakes and misunderstandings to fix his relationship.
Just some random ramblings I thought about, maybe I am overthinking all this or maybe not?

Give me a new Scott Pilgrim comic where it's years later, his relationship with Ramona has hit a rough spot and she breaks up with him, so he buys a ring and tries super hard to win her back, and it's like a 90s rom com ("doesn't she see that I'm not the 20-something boy I was in 200x? I've learned and grown as a person. It's 202x and I'm a 30-something-pushing 40-something man. I need to prove myself to her!") right up until the second act twist when he sees her new partner training to defeat him and he realizes "oh $#!+, I'm her 8th evil ex..." And then the comic rewinds and we see Ramona's new relationship from her perspective, and it's a lot healthier than hers and Scott's ever was, and when it catches up to the present Scott decides that this isn't a rom com, he can't win her back, and it's best to move on and just be friends because they're both happier long term this way.
Volume 7, Scott Pilgrim Gets Committed
(the flashback is called Volume 6陆, Ramona Flowers Does WAY Better)
