The San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge Complex, known locally as the Bay Bridge, is a complex of bridges spanning San Francisco Bay in California. As part of Interstate 80 and the direct road between San Francisco and Oakland, it carries about 260,000 vehicles a day on its two decks. it was built between 1933 and 1936. It suffered from earthquake damage in 1989, when a section of the eastern upper deck collapse, reconstruction began in 2002 and was completed in 2013 at cost of $6.5 Billion.
