Curious. Why is Merhartwin in the Hartwin tag? One is a 3way, the other a pairing. One I seriously dislike, the other I adore. There's so very little straight up Hartwin anymore that it's sad to see the Hartwin tag full up and then go to check it out because it says 10+ items only almost all of them are non-Hartwin.

So ummm, I am happy to provide a general answer to this question, but I can’t provide specific answers to the hartwin tag as I personally have Hartwin blacklisted and don’t follow or like that particular ship. I am sort of well know for being a merwin, merlahad, and ever rarer pairs person. When I saw I went to the full tag all I could think was - wait tags can get full? My fav pair only has a note when I’ve written something for the pairing.

But to the question about Merhartwin in the Hartwin tag, and this is something that people in the merlahad tag have discussed.

1. someone is promoting a fandom wide event. for example I recently announced Royal and Oiled a writing event open for any and every ship imaginable in the kingsman fandom. I tagged that post with several of the major pairings to get coverage, and I know other events have done similar.

2. A person has written a story and is trying to get it noticed.

Now people who tag a merhartwin story, and then tag it with the individual pairings within there (hartwin, merlahad, merwin) from what I can tell are of two minds.

a: getting it seen the most possible. the story is solely a merhartwin tale but they are trying to get eyes, so they tag everything.

b: they have tagged it with all the pairings because it might be merhartwin endgame, or be a merhartwin fic, but the individual relationships have their place in the fic too, maybe a large part and they want say hartwin people to know the story has a lot of individual hartwin moments in there as well the merhartwin.

It is a debate that continues and for some it is a huge source of contention others not.

For example in merwin - my primary ship the top two stories aren’t merwin fics in terms of kudos and that can be frustrating.

People have tried to stop others, but well it is tumblr and sometimes we try and sometimes we don’t, or sometimes we see the other’s pov but for our own reasons big or small we can’t agree.

What you can do is blacklist merhartwin, or just scroll past. You can also post a screed against it, and there will be people with you or against you, but you have to decide if it is worth the energy.

I tend to blacklist and move on. Maybe be bummed occasionally but at the end of the day, you are a Hartwin fan - the most popular ship in the fandom, so likely you are still getting triple the content other fans are, who are dealing with the exact same issue as well.

I’m looking forward to starting my Fandom Trumps Hate for @eggsyobsessed which is doing to be a mob boss/hitman Merwin, and there’s another  AUish Merhartwin that I don’t want to jinx just yet. 31.  Least favourite part of writing The writing? lol. j/k. Proof reading, probably. I’m not a native speaker and I have no patience to give my stuff to someone else to beta so I just check it myelf (which is probably a mistake). I wish I knew how to edit (I know but I just don’t do it) so that I could just pour out a draft and do the worrying later. Instead I keep turning words over and over until I find the right one and it’s taking me forever to finish something.

This fic is one of my favorites. I absolutely loved writing it. The instant chemistry between all three characters made it a blast to write. Mark is a sweet cinnamon roll and the idea of two Colin Firths in one fic just makes me giggle.

Midnight Oleander - Explicit - Hartwin/Mark Darcy x Eggsy x Harry - ON GOING

I just started this but I’m loving it. It’s the continuation of The Courting of Eggsy Unwin, but this time we get to see them established. Being able to write all the domestic fluff is fun and I can’t wait to get into the adventure. I have so much fun stuff planned for it.

The Weight of Us - Explicit - Hartwin - ON GOING

This is seriously my favorite. Harry’s and Eggsy’s chemistry is so sweet. I love stories where the couples work together and trust one another. Where there isn’t any drama internally, but coming from external sources, and they navigate it as a unit. Harry and Eggsy trust and love each other and it really shines through.

Color Theory - Explicit - Hartwin & Merwin - FINISHED

This was written for Fandom Trumps Hate. I’m a huge shipper of Merhartwin, but the person actually wanted a V threesome, and it was fun exploring the dynamic of Harry and Merlin dating Eggsy, but not one another. I also got to explore the field of graphic design and bring in my knowledge, since it’s actually the field I’m going into. I really had fun with this story.

I wrote this as a prompt to fix the pain Golden Circle left from the wedding. I really enjoyed this story and wish the movie ended this way instead of how it did.

In the year 2290, a settlement in the northern part of the Commonwealth - Outpost Zimonja - was attacked by raiders. They were after children, and they managed to make off with one young boy by the name of Gary Unwin. Gary was sold progressively farther west and south, until - three years later - he was bought by the slavers of Paradise Falls in the Capital Wasteland.

By 2305, Zimonja has become a major stop for the Railroad smuggling synths north into New Hampsha and Main. Tensions with the remnants of the Institute are reaching a boiling point, with both sides poised to resume open hostilities.

Because war. War never changes.

In the middle of it all, a 25 year-old slave named Eggsy, assumed to be a synth, arrives in Bunker Hill. Now the newly minted agent Gawain, of the Railroad's Kingsman cell, heads to Bunker Hill to find, and hopefully save, this possible lost soul. At the same time, a courser, one of the elite and deadly assassins of the Institute, is sent to retrieve, or eliminate, the synth.

Road trip has begun XD And there’s some srs silly shit in this chapter because I went “this could go angst or ridic” and the vote came down to “ridic”.

Paper cut and something Kingsman if you don't mind

Eggsy’s brows furrowed as he stepped into Harry’s office. Merlin had asked him to check in on the man, which he was glad to do; Harry spent far too much time cooped up in here sometimes, working on the stacks and stack of paperwork that were always threatening to spill over and take the office over. And apparently a few minutes ago, while he’d been in mid conversation with Merlin, Harry had sworn vehemently and then abruptly cut the connection between between he and Merlin’s glasses.

Which, they were at the new manor, which had at least ten times the security that the old one had had, and Harry had been in his office, so he shoulda been fine…. He had just refused to answer Merlin’s attempts to call back. So here Eggsy was, physically checking on him, and…

He wasn’t in his office.

“Merlin,” Eggsy called, one hand raising up to his glasses to establish a connection to the wizard. “Ya did say that Harry was in his office, yeah?”

“Aye,” Merlin answered after a moment. Eggsy’s brows wrinkled deeply as he closed the office door silently behind him. He kept his footsteps silent as well, as he stepped carefully towards Harry’s empty desk. “He had some questions about the budget, since he’s been working on it.”

“Well he ain’t here now.” Eggsy lowered his voice to hiss the words, his eyes narrowing. As he silently padded around to the back of the desk, where Harry’s chair was empty and abandoned, he looked down to the desk surface, looking for any signs of where he might have gone to- and froze. “Merlin, we have a situation.”

“A situation?” the Scot questioned. “What do yeh mean?”

Eggsy’s words were clipped as he said, “Arthur’s glasses are in here, which is why he ain’t answering- and there’s blood on his desk.”

“Shit,” Merlin swore.

“Yeah,” Eggsy replied. “Shit.”

At the other end of the building, Harry was rustling around in a supply closet when Merlin and Galahad put Kingsman on full alert. He had just found a first aid kit, and was cracking it open to browse through its contents, when all available knights were called to come to the manor. He was just grinning to himself as he located a plaster of the correct size when Merlin began barking out orders and assigning personnel to search parties. He was halfway through wrapping said plaster around the still bleeding papercut that ran along most of his left index finger when Morgana and her Sisters began bustling about the medical wing to prepare for any possible incoming injuries.

It wasn’t until after the plaster was secured in place, and he was just closing the first aid kit to return it to its shelf, when he heard loud footsteps thundering down the hall outside the supply closet. Brows furrowing, because that kind of clamor certainly wasn’t called for in the manor, Harry stepped out of the closet-

And was immediately forced to dodge as three men in full battle armor stormed past him.

Three men who immediately froze, turning around to stare at him, and it was only pure reflex and instinct that kept Harry from drawing his gun, because while he could think of no fathomable reason they were running around the manor in battle armor, he knew the eyes he could see behind the men’s faceplates; they were three of his own men, of Kingsman’s men.

“Sir!” one of them cried, eyes widen in his mask, and before Harry could quite think of a reply, the man motioned to one of the other two- who immediately darted forward toward him and tackled him down to the ground. His head cracked hard against the wooden floor, and Harry saw stars.

“Sir, stay down, it’s alright, we’ve got you, you’re safe!” the man pinning him said- Alex, if he remembered correctly- and Harry sputtered.

“I- what?” He tried to push up, but Alex shifted, so that all his weight was holding Harry in place.

“We’ve found him, Merlin!” the first man was saying- Peter, right, yes, that was his name- as the last man moved to stand over Harry and Alex, gun held at the ready in a defencive position. And, a moment belated, Harry realized that he couldn’t quite breathe fully, pinned as he was beneath Alex’s weight. He realized because, along with the stars from the initial impact, black spots were beginning to dot his vision, and his chest felt tight.

“Let- stop-” Harry tried to wheeze out, but Alex’s attention was focussed upwards, on Peter, as the other man was relaying,

“No sir, there’s no sign of the intruder. Arthur is secure, though. We’ll-”

“Are you alright, sir?” It was the third man- Donald, judging by the voice- who was looking down at Harry now, concern written in his eyes. At least, from what Harry could see of his eyes. His own vision was darkening, fading as he struggled for air, choking a little. He saw the panic then, as Donald was suddenly kneeling, as he drew Alex’s attention back to Harry, but by then the blackness was taking over, their voices fading as his consciousness slipped away.

Later, Harry would wake in one of the private rooms in the medical wing, with Merlin sitting at his bedside, Eggsy pacing the room with far too much nervous energy as Tilde tried to soothe him over the phone. Later, he would find out that he had gained a minor concussion when his head had struck the floor in the hall, and Alex had accidently cut off his air supply while trying to keep him covered from any possible attack. Later, as Merlin quietly arranged for Alex, still young and new to Kingsman and his position, to have some extra training regarding covering a client, Harry would ask both of his lovers just what the hell was going on.

Later, Merlin would fill him in that Eggsy had found his glasses and blood on his desk, just after Harry had sworn vehemently and cut off all contact with Merlin abruptly. Later, the wizard would explain that they had, justifiably so, given the circumstances, assumed that Harry had been taken by an intruder somehow, despite the new manor’s new and upgraded security.

Later, Harry would stare at them both in shock… before bursting into laughter and declaring them both mad. And later, much to Merlin and Eggsy’s chagrin, Harry would explain that no, he had simply suffered a papercut and gone looking for a plaster.
