Can you do cod x dsmp ?? Like, not nsfw, angst/fluff maybe. Tommy meets TF141 (like teleports to their world?? Thanks!!!
the way i was so viscerally enamored with this idea i practically threw my phone across the room when i got it? thank you for getting me out of the tiktok doom scroll, anon, here's your stuff!
c!tommy meeting TF 141
tags: hurt/a bitty bitty bit of comfort, ptsd, panic attacks, shapeshifter!tommy, reverse isekai
tommy...okay, well he did know how he got here.
he'd been grabbing some wood, seen a weird looking portal, and without thinking; he'd stepped into it. honestly, generally considered a stupid move, but what should he have done? thought before he acted?
ha...haa.
of course not.
he'd toppled into some small room, slamming into some cleaning supplies, and what seemed to be potions, a few of which fell onto him. he made a loud noise of shock and surprise, and heard a sudden explosive noise.
immediately, he went rigid, tail wrapping around his waist as he shrunk into the wall. as if understanding his desire to hide, he felt his skin shift a little, mottled greys blending into the cement he was pressed again.
of course, his clothes didn't change with it, so really, the only difference was his hands and face.
when the door swung open, he was greeted with the sight of a heavily armored and, seemingly armed, man. he was tall, with a mask like a skull, and for a long moment he stared at tommy. just barely, he could see his eyebrows furrowing.
he kept his gun trained on tommy, and muttered something. tommy's ears twitched, trying to get a handle on whatever the hell he was saying, but he couldn't manage it in time.
the man grunted an affirmative, and suddenly surged forward, raising his gun and slamming the butt of it onto tommy's head.
he was dreaming, he was sure of it, standing on a subway track. across, his brother-- no, a simulacrum of his brother, stood, frowning.
"tommy?" he said, a vivid, still bleeding slash across his chest, and a puff of white that seemed to be starting to build in his hair. "tommy, what are you doing here? you're not supposed to be here, i thought-"
a train rushes past, the noise of it causing tommy to jolt awake, the sound of it hitting the tracks still blaring in his ears.
he was in another cement room, this one less crowded, and his hands were cuffed to the table in front of him. he swallowed, feeling the slight ache in his lip at the tusks now growing there. just like his brother's.
he swallowed, and felt them recede back into his usual incisors, as the door opened.
"that is fucking horrifying." came a gruff voice, accent similar to his own.
"thanks." tommy said, voice holding more attitude than he'd really meant it to. great job, idiot, piss off your fucking captors. great. great. he was so fucked.
"what the hell is...that? what happened to you? ghost said you were doing some chameleon shit."
"where am i?" he asked instead.
the man pinched the bridge of his nose. "you, are at a safehouse, far away from where we found you. lucky for you, the brass are not yet aware of your existence, but if you don't start answering questions, you've got some scientists in your future."
no.
white jackets, needles, muzzles and cages, thoughts of all that ran through his mind. except, this time, wilbur wasn't hear to peek in through the small basement window. this time, wilbur wasn't hear to use all of his strength to rip away the bars, and shove his thin body through to help tommy clamber out. he was alone. he was alone, and they were going to put him back-
"hey, hey kid, calm down." the man started to soothe, hand coming out to pat at his shoulder, but tommy just flinched away. his wrists rubbed something awful against the metal of the cuffs, and he let out a raw, choked noise. he could feel his body shifting around him, trying to find a safe foothold to keep tommy's panic at bay, but all it was doing was causing further pain to gather in his spine.
"no scientists, come on, it's okay." the gruff voice tried again, much closer now- kneeling in front of him. there was more light, aside from the fluorescent ones in front of him, and tommy swiveled his head to the door. there was another human man, the masked one again he guessed; even with his different mask.
"back off, price." he barked. the man who'd been trying to calm him down looked at the masked man for a long moment, before glancing back at tommy and stepping away. "hey, kid, what's your name?"
"what?" tommy forced out, voice not dissimilar to the gasp someone made when they came up for air out of a lake.
"name."
"tommy."
he sucks in a heavy breath, barely visible eyes twitching for a moment, and takes a few strides across the room.
"no scientists." he said, repeating what 'price' had said. "no tests. nothing like what you're used to." tommy watched with big eyes as the man strode closer, stopping a few paces away. "you need to calm down."
yeah, like it was that fucking easy. prick.
"we're not playing the 5 things game, because i'm pretty sure that wouldn't help, so you just need to fucking breathe, yeah? 4-5-6, or whatever breathing exercises work for you."
box breathing. puffy called it box breathing.
the first breath rattled through his chest, but the second came easier. he felt his skin slowly begin to slow in it's shudder, before calming altogether. it took a moment to realize feather wings had pulled their way out of his back, tucked close against his back under his hoodie.
"you got it." the man said, visibly hesitant. the feathers now on tommy's face bristled as he stepped closer.
"we need to ask you some things." he said finally, eyes flicking to price. "namely, what the fuck is going on with you?"

What are your thoughts on reverse isekai where Azul really appears out of nowhere in the reader's world/room? It'd be funny if he just loses his mind over it because how did he mess up with his chanting of his ancient spells that he ended up (miserably) there.
And the reader finds him very pitiful and offer a temporary stay for him. He accepted reluctantly.
Omg maybe twst isn't a game in your world, so you have no idea who this strange man is and why he's waving some cane around trying to cast a spell on you LOL. ^^;;; after all of the commotion is settled and Azul stops speaking in spells and hexes, none of which have any effect, the both of you hesitantly introduce yourselves. He's Azul Ashengrotto, a mage who hails from a place known as Twisted Wonderland. That sounds positively absurd, but then to Azul the idea of a world without any magic is just as foreign. How do you possibly live? It's so strange... More importantly, if magic is nonexistent here, does that mean he can't transform back to his original form? Is he stuck in his human form? Not that that's the most pressing worry; it's actually more of a relief.
Even so, despite your reluctant hospitality and willingness to let him stay (for now), he doesn't trust you. You're right to be wary of him as well. Neither of you know the other, and the fact that he just suddenly appeared in your room all because of, in his words, "an incorrect incantation" sounds very suspicious. But he proves to you he really is a mage by showing you the strange stone on the cane, explaining in great detail its purpose and importance. You don't really understand a lot of this, but it's such a detailed explanation. Surely he wouldn't make all of that up...
Azul's ultimate goal is to (hopefully) return home. This is something he sticks with for a while, always grousing over how inconvenient it is that he can't use magic to solve such complex problems (the "complex problems" being laundry duty or washing dishes. He's gotten rather comfortable and lazy in your presence, but he adamantly denies it when you bring it up. He reasons he can be this way because you hardly know him and his achievements or pitfalls, and he'll be leaving soon anyway. There's no point in getting too friendly, and if you're letting him freeload in your home... Why shouldn't he relax in a stressful situation? He can think with his brain later!) You annoy him with your incessant questions and constant disbelief and doubt, but then he also annoys you with his grandiose ego and lofty confidence. Azul cannot wait to get back to Twisted Wonderland. This world isn't so different from his own, but it's without magic and as someone who depends on magic to do specific tasks that require magical aid... It makes his life so very difficult.
But then he actually befriends you. Suddenly, he's something of a roommate, albeit a roommate who's quite the demanding nuisance. Azul thought a magic-less world was the worst of his problems, but now he's actually getting attached to you. To you, someone he couldn't stand initially! Now, rather than being curt and distant, he sits beside you on the sofa to binge movies and shows and the two of you fall asleep together. Now he's helping you in the kitchen rather than bickering over who should cook and how "if you knew how to cast a simple spell, this would be so much easier!" Now he's learning that he's relied too much on his magical prowess. And now, unfortunately, he's not so sure he even wants to go home (if that's an option anymore).
Azul would be much more at ease to keep this relationship strictly business: you provide him with shelter and food while he works to solve this situation. In fact, he thinks he'd be better off hating you and acting annoyed because that helps him feel less attached. But he can't ignore the mounting enjoyment he feels when he's with you. This is the most fun he's had in a long time, and he likes your company. He likes cleaning the house with you, going shopping and grousing over budgets together, exploring the city you live in and seeing what it has to offer, getting to know you on a personal level... He thinks he may have gone insane because he catches himself telling you things he'd never want anyone back at NRC to know. He talks so openly about his aspirations and hopes because he's grown to trust you. He knows you're a safe friend, and it's been so long since he's had this kind of security in a friendship. And you genuinely support him! You tell him you know he can turn Mostro Lounge into a franchise, and your cheers for his success are so authentic and supportive. (And of course he can do that and more! He's Azul Ashengrotto, after all!)
Maybe, if he does find a way home, he can take you with him and show you part of his world. Wouldn't that be so wonderful?

The incredible @kittenintheden tagged me for this, so I'll give it my best shot!
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
Four.
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
224,051 - which, honestly, is insane because that means I've written (and edited) pretty much two entire novels over the course of last 12 months. The vampire elf is too powerful, guys.
3) What fandoms do you write for?
BG3
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I'm a fandom newbie, so I don't even have 5, but here are my babies:
Accountant's Guide - Pre-Canon Astarion teams up with a human accountant to frame Cazador for tax fraud. It's exactly as whacky as it sounds.
Magistrate's Advocate - The Magistrate Astarion longfic someone had to write.
Vampire Stay-at-Home Trophy Husband - Reverse Isekai EA oneshot
An Empirical Science - My contribution to the Holy Rolan Empire
5) Do you respond to comments?
Always. Obsessively so. Love responding to comments and chatting with readers.
6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
My fics have a good bit of angst and tension and heartbreak, but I always strive for an overall "warm" feeling in my writing, so those moments tend to get resolved at some point. No angsty endings in my portfolio (yet).
7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Accountant's Guide is where I gave Astarion everything I wish he could have. Zero regrets.
8) Do you get hate on fics?
Occasionally, but it's pretty rare. Not to make excuses for people hating on fics (because that is despicable; we're working for free here), but I don't think my fics are controversial enough to attract a lot of hate. They're cute. They're wholesome. They don't take themselves too seriously, so I think it's pretty difficult to hate on them.
Although someone once called Scarlett a b**** and sometimes I remember that and I become wrath.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Explicit smut is something I've really only started doing when I got into fanfiction this past year. I like incorporating it into my longfics to emphasize key moments for my characters and their development, so it's part porn, part plot.
It can get kinky, but it will always be consensual. Dubcon/noncon is a big no for me, personally.
10) Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No crossovers, but An Empirical Science is where I have a lot of fun butchering adapting Pride & Prejudice lines. I mean, it's a Rolan fic. How could you not?
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know, but I have seen coincidences of very similar concepts and ideas popping up after I've introduced them in my fics.
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, there's an ongoing Ukrainian translation for Accountant's Guide! I translate the comments every now and then and readers are really praising the language skills of the translator, so that's awesome!
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but we chat a lot about my stories on my Discord server, so that's often a little like writing together.
14) What’s your all time favorite ship?
Shalladin (Kaladin x Shallan from Stormlight Archive). I love Brandon Sanderson with all my heart, but for this, I will never forgive him.
15) What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I get very hyperfocused on my stories and rarely work on more than 1 project at a time, so I tend to finish what I start.
16) What are your writing strengths?
Look, my social anxiety makes me a pretty rizzless person to talk to in real life, but my writing is funny. It's charming. I am great at character voice. I keep things real. My OCs don't need to be perfect flawless beauty goddesses to woo the guy; they recite a few paragraphs and swing their fountain pen and the guy is on. the. floor.
Sometimes literally.
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
According to a rather charming public bookmark on my fic, I struggle with "pacing issues" and "questionable narrative choices". Clearly, this person knows what they're talking about, so let's accept it as fact.
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I think this is generally really difficult to pull off without being confusing (check out "The Wee Free Men" by Sir Terry Pratchett for a really good example how to do it). So unless I had a very specific reason for it, I would prefer to write around it as I've done with Infernal in An Empirical Science.
19) First fandom you wrote for?
Still BG3. First and last? Who knows.
20) Favorite fic you’ve written?
Accountant's Guide. It's the story I wrote when I hit rock bottom and thought I couldn't write anymore. It's the story that made me believe again. My first story in English and by far the easiest thing I've ever written. It's the story I reread when I'm sad, when I'm happy, when I want a hug that reaches all the way into my soul. I am never happier than when people tell me this is a comfort read for them, just as it is for me.
I'm tagging @thedreamlessnights, @purdledooturt, @larvasmoon, @karinamay and @davenswitcher if they feel like sharing their answers!

@dills-musings there are a few isekai tinglers! "Shared by the Chocolate Milk Cowboys" is the first one to introduce the possibility of moving down layers of the tingleverse. "Pounded In The Butt By My Book "Pounded In The Butt By My Book 'Pounded In The Butt By My Book "Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt"'"" is my favorite of the ones I've read so far. It has an interesting twist on the idea. Reverse isekai inspirational mindfuck? It's great. (There are more but these two are especially notable)

If you're looking for an anime to watch this spooky season, I would definitely recommend Dead Mount Death Play if you haven't checked it out already. It came out earlier this year, and it' a reverse isekai, where a powerful necromancer takes over the body of a recently murdered boy in modern-day Tokyo.
The initial premise is really great. The characters are multi-layered and feel human despite all their weird traits and the fantastical world they inhabit. They also have really interesting dynamics with one another. I am also such a sucker for a stereotypical "villain" getting to be the protagonist.
Though it's name clearly suggests some pretty dark subject matter, there's still a surprising amount of well-done humor. The plot isn't so complicated that it's difficult to follow, but still keeps you guessing and completely engaged. Different elements of the story that seem unrelated or even insignificant come together in surprising ways. Yet for all the twists and turns it takes, nothing feels forced or like it came out of left field.
It's sort of a mix of high fantasy and urban fantasy, and I think it combines those elements really well. The world-building in general is pretty solid, in my opinion. I like how it sort of plays around (for lack of a better term) with the idea of magic existing in our world, leaving a question mark over whether certain characters have supernatural powers, despite magic being very real in the world of the story. Plus, on an aesthetic level, it absolutely slaps. I've talked before about how very few anime truly grab me from the first episode. This was definitely one of them!
The first season leaves a lot of unanswered questions, but that's because there's a second season coming next month! I can't wait to see where it goes!

hiii! omg a few days ago i was thinking about our bbg ghost and... i'm planning on writing fic for him so i had to come up with a few storyline ideas and plots and one came up in my head about a reverse isekai, instead of the reader getting teleported its ghost and he appears in our room, gun in hand and he's so confused as he sees us wake up in a panic like 'who tf are u and why r u in my room???!!!'
i thought it would be an interesting take and just helping through the modern world of 2023.
I'm going to be so real, I had to look up what reverse isekai was and I was convinced I was going to be rick rolled.
BUT that is such a creative idea! That would be so scary if Ghost just appeared and was like STICK 'EM UP.
I think that's a great idea! If you do decide to write it, I'd love to be tagged in the finished product <3

actually I've decided all those old ideas for them suck. Objectively the funniest possible answer to "who the fuck Are Conrí and Gwyn" is:
Gwyn is a proper nobody, but he's mostly happy living with his pet pixie frog, Jeremiah, and his roommate/best friend Human Jeremiah. who is a sorta eccentric older fellow. Tends to be very air headed and spends most of his time keeping to himself and quietly reading the old books he keeps up in their attic. He also does basically all the chores when Gwyn is at work so the dude could be a serial killer and Gwyn would still consider him the best roommate ever.
It's a great life for Gwyn. He can relax and persue his passions in his free time in a quiet and lovely home. He has company when he wants it and peace when he doesn't. it's Perfect.
Until Gwyn gets forcibly Isekai-ed.
He wakes in (bulk standard magic land... Bustmala) on an alter surrounded by strangers. They tell him he's the reincarnation of some ancient sorcerer and it'll be his job to stop some horrid evil. Gwyn is not down for this. He doesn't know how time moves in relation to the two worlds and Human Jeremiah is out of town so if Gwyn doesn't get home soon his beloved Jeremiah will starve or his water will dry up.
What proceeds is the set up for your standard harem anime. There's the extremely accomplished sorceress who works for the king/queen, Exac'coso, She is being forced to teach this newcomer. She resents his existence and he agrees that she should, they start hatching their plan in secret almost as soon as they are alone in the room together.
The powerful general who immediately starts talking strategy, Powge. her words go just as far over his head as Exac'coso's did. It devastates her to find out the plan her predecessors had been working to put into place for generations is going to fail. They didn't have any other way to possibly contain the BBEG. While she still has hope it'll work out some how, it doesn't take long to get her on board. The sooner Gwyn is gone the sooner the higher-ups will let them all start investigating more options that might actually work. This is the first time she and Exac'coso are getting to work together and she's learning to not be quite as intimidated by such a well respected member of the court.
And finally a maid of no renown, Manoré. She's the glue that holds the team together. The only one of the three of them that has an excuse to go anywhere without a single person paying her any mind. It also helps that she's a pickpocket and clever in a way that compliments Powge's straight forward eyes on the prize mindset and Exac'coso's overthinking and over complicating. Plus it also gets her a chance to reverse pickpocket a few things off the ladies. She likes stealing but also always feels a little bad about it later if the person is nice. She doesn't need to be convinced to join their mission, she was listening in when the other two weren't thinking of her as having been there because she was just the help.
The four of them get everything set up and nearly succeed in their goal without much fuss. Until the overly loyal dog of a guard that is Conrí interupts. He had been the greatest hurdle as he had been assigned to watch over Gwyn at all times in case BBGE tried to get him before he was prepared to win that fight. He had refused to hear any of Gwyn's protests on this matter and insisted he Must be the sorcerer because otherwise, what hope did any of them have?
The spell was already started up. Both Gwyn and Conrí were transported back to Gwyn's world. They land in his backyard and Gwyn just books it to check on Jeremiah. only managing to out run Conrí bc of the narrow halls and low cielings giving the giant fucker a hard time. Jeremiah is completely fine and Gwyn could just about cry with relief. His water is still full so despite weeks having passed in the other world it seems only a few hours at most had passed in this one.
Now Conrí is the one who's the fish out of water. You thought this was a story about a normal dude in a magic world surrounded by hot chicks? Gotcha. It's about a big wolf man stuck in a normal world that's wholely incompatible with him. with a man he's done a great job at making hate him.
Worst of all, Weeks had passed in his home when only hours had here. How long did they have to get back before the final confrontation was had and lost without the prophecized sorcerer there to save everyone? how long until everything he had ever known or loved was gone? He had pups, would they think he abandoned them in the days leading up to their firey deaths? They had already lost their mother, he couldn't make them suffer That too.
Things are awkward those first few days. Conrí is already going stir crazy having to stay inside what is to him a very cramped little house. Driving them both mad with his constant worry and hopeless anger. He's furious with Gwyn even if it's not fair for him to be. If Gwyn had just Paid More Attention. If he had learned more from Exac'coso before running like a coward then Maybe they would have gotten home in time.
They had summoned Gwyn with 3 years of prep time to make sure he was ready for the fight. With how time had moved between their worlds, the math said a year in Bustmala was only a day here.
The fourth day comes. Conrí locks himself in the spare room and refuses to come out.
The fifth day Gwyn barely manages to get him to eat.
The sixth he offers to bring Conrí a book so at least he could enjoy some reading while he wallowed. Conrí doesn't want anything that mentions earth or anything about it. All Gwyn has is non fiction. Human Jeremiah likes fantasy though. So maybe they could raid his library? Gwyn promises Human Jeremiah is cool and if he isn't Gwyn will pay him back for the book if he's not ok letting Conrí read it. Conrí reluctantly agrees.
They go up to Jeremiah's attic room and Conrí grabs a book at random from the shelves. They're all the sort that are bound in leather to look fancy and old despite being fairly new so he has to flick through a few pages to actually get a feeling for the type of book it is. Gwyn watches his brow furrow and realizes he might not be able to read english. but then Conrí is flicking to the table of contents and then to a specific story.
Conrí throws the book through the window and collapses onto the bed with his head in his hands. He already regrets having thrown that book. It was the same collection of short stories his kids had on their bedside table. He'd read it to them hundreds of times.
"Funny how the world can find a way to beat you when you're already dead. Right house, wrong man."
He doesn't respond when Gwyn asks for clarification but Gwyn doesn't really need it. It was more the shock of the realization that had wanted the confirmation than any cognizant part of his mind. Gwyn wishes he hadn't turned down Human Jeremiah's offers to let him read one of his books. Maybe he would have realized the truth when they still had time to act on it then.
He pulls out a few books, opens and sets them aside until he has the one he wants. A magic grimoire that had a spell and set of sigil work he recognized from Exac'coso sending him home. He was barely at the point of learning to read the most basic of basics from her and this... This was something she had spent an entire day preparing for and studying and even then made sure he knew there was a nonzero chance she fucked it up and sent him way back in time or dropped him from a few stories up.
"I... I can try to learn more."
"What's the point in that? To let me see my home in ruins? To see if I can find their bodies in the rubble? Just put me down and move on."
"Human Jeremiah will be home eventually... He could teach me. Or send you home himself."
"And still there would not be a point."
"We were wrong. about how time passed. There's this, uh, this denotes a time I think? If you remember what the date was we can go back to the same day we left on. I think."
"I will unscrew your head from your neck if you are givinge false hope."
"I don't think I am."

Here's a crazy AU idea for MHA: fantasy Izuku AU, a.k.a. the Reverse Isekai AU:
In a universe of magic and adventure, brave knight Izuku had finally defeated the great demon lord in one final battle. Having saved the kingdom, Izuku thought his questing days would finally be over when, in a final act of defiance, the demon lord casts one final spell before promptly passing away. Izuku ends up engulfed by a strange magical force that teleports him away.
In another world, a world of heroes and villains welding superpowers, a group of teens are taking the heroics entrance exam to be admitted to the prestigious UA academy when a blinding flash of light appears, bringing it with a very confused battle fresh armored knight into the middle of the battlefield.
Izuku, recognizing the faces of his friends from his world (even if he doesn't understand what the hell they're wearing) immediately jumps into the fight to protect them. Both catching the eyes of the familiar doppelgangers and of the teachers and principal in the observation room.
Tldr: a universe without a Midorya izuku suddenly gains one from the fantasy universe and UA decides that they might as well keep the feral little sword welding armored teen.
It would mostly be about izuku adjusting to a more "modern" world while also dealing with the fact that hes dealing with people who look and act like the people he knows but aren't quite the same.
Oh interesting!
Personally I think I'd go with a proper swap because like. an Izuku from each world gets yeeted to the other makes slightly more sense in the long run
But also sword and magic gremlin in the superhero world while the superhero gremlin is in the fantasy world? Beautiful.

Genuinely cannot wait for the next chapter of another way, reverse Isekai is one of my favorite tropes but it's hard to find fics about it. I especially love how you created the realistic struggle of alucard and reader being unable to communicate and how it'll last until reader gets internet access. Also alucard acting like a lost puppy is absolutely adorable 🥰
YES reverse-isekai is so much fun to write! And using it with a character like Alucard just smashes all the right buttons for me - the hero being out of their element, with completely different struggles than what we're used to etc (aside from the other goodies the M rating would bring). THANK YOU sm, feels great to see a return connection on things I share with y'all and that people like my ideas. A new chapter coming.
Here's a bonus, a teeny draft passage of a future scene:
Adrian stares at it for a moment with some interest before looking up at you, then at your hand holding the ballpen.
"Oh, here," you're fast in offering it out to him, smiling because it costs you nothing at the moment and watch as gratitude flicks across his face; then a smile.
You swallow, looking sharply down at his hands, at the way he takes and holds the ballpen between his long fingers; your eyes dart up again, but his composure has settled to neutrality as he writes down something in that script, then turns it over.

Research: Isekai anime/ manga
This is some research into Isekai anime, which is sort of linked to reincarnation.
Tumblr media
A subgenre of fantasy where a character is transported into a new or unfamiliar world full of magic, monsters and adventure! Western audiences are familiar to this subgenre as there are great examples like Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and Alice in wonderland, where a character is transported to a new world. The term ‘Isekai’ is relatively new for the past decade, before just being ‘trapped in another world’ to separate them form normal adventure manga. There are four types of Isekai:
Trapped in another world: The character is mentally or physically transported into a different world. Their main objective is to escape and return home through different adventures and quests.
Trapped in a video game: a more modern concept of the ‘another world’ idea. Both are the same but the character is transported into their favorite game or a game like world. Their main objective can be to escape or live in the new world.
Reincarnated into a new world: Instead of the character being transported alive, some have to be killed before being reincarnated into a new world. They usually get rid of their old weak bodies and are instead given a new and far more powerful body. In these types of Iseaki, the objective is to not return home but to instead survive in the new world.
Reverse: Not as popular but interesting. Instead, a character from a fantasy world is transported into our normal world. Their main objective is to go back home.
My FMP is a reincarnation type of Iskeai but with objective of trying to return home as it is a interesting twist of the idea and hasn’t really been done before.

gmmtv 2024 part 2 roster, in approximate order of how excited i am about them:
The Heart Killers: YES. soooooo good for me. silly romcom mafia shakespeare plot! dressing everyone up in little outfits! enemies-to-lovers standoff to makeout! love that it's 90s teen movie shakespeare but with more murder. love that this time first and dunk are the ones pursuing khao and joong. delighted p'jojo is directing, he knows exactly what he's doing and he's right for it.
The Ex-Morning: being halfway through watching SOTUS for the first time is an extremely funny time to watch the kristsingto rpf-lite comeback special trailer. it looks good! i love the concept of exes-to-collaborators-to-lovers even before you add in the rpf parallels of it all. p'aof generally does really solid shows and i have no reason to think this won't live up to expectations.
Friendshit Forever: title so stupid it wraps back around into being genius. looks toxic and fun. i will say that if gmmtv wants to yuribait me this hard in the trailer i hope they at least have the decency to yuribait me in the show as well. (real story: when i downloaded the trailers to rewatch i initially ended up with the subtitles from 'Us' playing over the scene where mook and pat meet and for a beautiful moment i lived in a world where there were two gl shows on the 2025 roster.)
Us: the trailer doesn’t give me a great sense for what the actual, uh, plot is. i do appreciate that they found an excuse to have them kiss shirtless in the trailer. the nominal cyrano-esque plot (plus the trite “can two women love one another”) doesn’t feel that interesting but i presume the actual show will have more to it than just that. please i just need a gl that’s well-executed and not about high schoolers (patiently waiting for Pluto….)
Ossan's Love: looks extremely cringe, but….in a charming way? maybe? going to watch regardless because it's earthmix, may go watch the original to get a better idea of what the hell the vibe is supposed to be.
Hide & Sis: feels like it could be campy and fun or could be just bad, but optimistic that it’s the former.
The Dark Dice: okay, so it’s…..jumanji crossed with an escape room crossed with squid game for teenagers? sure i can get behind that. the trailer looked pretty good for being (i assume) relatively low-budget and low-effort.
Revamp: The Undead Story: looks a little silly but very likely in a fun way. (why are there so many vampire shows this year? was there something in the water?)
Thame-Po: okay, so this is a show about a boyband…..where the members are played by gmmtv’s actual boyband? this feels like another instance of rpf lite but less in a fun way and more in a way where i’m a little concerned for these teenagers about fan engagement bleedover. but it did look cute and there are opportunities to go a little meta about the whole thing.
Leap Day: intrigued to watch gun in a role where he actually has things to do
Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist: i think ohm and mark have really fun energy and i badly wanted to like their show, but it looks. SO bad. will watch at least an episode and hope it's better than the trailer made it look but good god.
Break-Up Service: another one that....could be fun or bad, but probably just bad.
Scarlet Heart: was that a trailer or a perfume ad? i guess this is an adaptation and we're supposed to be familiar with the original, slash they didn't have time to film an actual trailer before the event? isekai time travel could be fun in theory but the reverse harem thing does not entice me. pass.
Perfect 10 Liners: you know the bit in Lovely Writer where the show-within-a-show is Bad Engineer, and it's funny because it could literally be any BL that takes place in a university engineering faculty? Lovely Writer is three years old now and we're just still doing this apparently. why are there thirty episodes? did they just decide to toss all the pairs they didn't have a better idea for into the most generic setting possible and cross their fingers? hard pass.

it's-a-me again, oi anon!
i've read like almost all of the oi manhwas out of the ones that you've mentioned!! have you read blinded by the setting sun and isn't being a wicked woman much better yet? they're absolutely great, but death is the only ending for the villainess has to be my favourite (and stepmother's marchen, of course)
i was actually thinking of exactly lucas from wmmap when i was thinking about sampo, but also the ml of isn't being a wicked woman much better. he's a magician/duke who also moonlights as the shady business/intel partner of the fl (because they both want to get rich), unbeknownst to her.
kafka is a tricky one. she'd either fit the noble lady in position of high power that manipulates the kingdom and is the antagonist with her black magic and intel network/person who instigates a royal coup to overthrow the current monarchy/person who's noble family is slowly becoming more powerful than the current monarchy, OR, for role reversal, saintess/cardinal of the foreign religion of Destiny (Destiny's slaves).
HI OI ANON !!! (ฅ^・ﻌ・^)ฅ
I actually just put "Isn't being a wicked woman much better?" in my to-read list!! I'll move it to the top since you mentioned it, I'm sure it's great!! I haven't heard of blinded by the setting sun, but I'll check it out!
DEATH IS THE ONLY ENDING FOR THE VILLAINESS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES TOO!! my overall favorite manhwa is a tie between remarried empress and lady and the beast (can you tell I like puppydog MLs) but in terms of otome isekai death is the only ending for the villainess is my fav too!!! stepmother's marchen makes me sob into my hands /pos
ALSO YES SAME BRAIN AGAIN!!! lucas from wmmap has my heart and I'm 99% sure that's why I also like sampo LOLS he's such a little shitter. I'd definitely take him as reference for sampo's character in majesty, but I'll read isn't being a wicked woman much better ASAP so I can see what you mean!!
I think kafka being a saint would be so funny and actually? almost kind of fitting in its own way. a lot of times the saintesses in ois end up being in some way dark, mysterious, or otherwise not entirely saintesses, and for kafka to take up the mantle of leading a religion that manipulates the reader and/or events around the empire to their benefit would give her a really good niche archetype befitting of a romanceable character!
as always your ideas are really cool oi anon!!! (=◕ᆽ◕ฺ=) I am writing them down !!! thank you!!!!
also if you want to continue being oi anon let me know!! I just called you that since that's where we're connecting here LOL. if you want to use an emoji or a diff name let me know! I am planning on keeping a small list of named-anons /ᐠ ̥  ̮  ̥ ᐟ\ฅ

GRR media adventures: Queen’s Palace
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve been reading Queen’s Palace, also known as Empress’s Harem (aka the more honest title, lmao). It’s set in a matriarchal version of historical China. Yes, it’s a (reverse) harem manhua, but romance is only part of the story. The characters are great and nuanced, and it’s got a good plot and plenty of political intrigue. Don’t let the cutesy shoujo style fool you--secrets and enmities lurk in the Empress’ palace.
One thing that struck me was how confident it was with its premise. It doesn’t explain how the matriarchy came to be--I think it just wants us (the reader) to assume that women are stronger than men in this universe. Which means that they’re the ones fighting wars and doing physical labour, while men are the ones who stay home and take care of the children. The matriarchy is more on the realistic side, with bad women and good women in charge. It doesn’t fall into the trap of either depicting a female-led society as an egalitarian utopia where no social problems happen, or a place that is cartoonishly hostile to men.
Compared to what I’ve read, I would say it’s similar to:
Egalia’s Daughters
A Brother’s Price (men are coddled and treated as prizes)
Oooku (esp. the idea of having a harem of men)
Operation Liberate Men (shoujo art style, isekai)
It’s unfinished, but there are regular updates so the manhua is far from abandoned.

Through Spotify I was reminded about a really cool anime I discovered last year and because it is rather unknown, I wanted to share it with you.
If you are following me I guess you are a fan of Seraph of the End and thereby either a fan of battle shonen, light novels, fantasy with deeper characters and philosophical glimpses or all in one. Also I know that a lot of you are creators: artists, writers, editors. So this anime would be just for you.
Re:Creators
Tumblr media
Due to an abnormality characters from popular light novels and mangas are transported to the real world. This abnormality is caused by a character that doesn't seem to belong to any known fiction, still she seems to be up for revenge. To defeat her, different character team up, while others join her to take revenge on their creators.
It's basically an reverse Isekai with battle shonen elements. But apart from that's it's a story about writing, about drawing, about what impact your art has and what impact your art has on you. In my opinion the real stars of the show are the creators. Just a bunch of middle aged adults 😂
Tumblr media
The hook for the story is a teenage boy who is not able to draw anymore. How his story is connected to the events is revealed bit by bit. Though he's the hook for the story, he's not the protagonist. And I think this is important to keep in mind. It's not his story but it's a story about creating art.
It's interesting to see all the different kind of creators, though of course they represent stereotypes of creators to show different approaches. There's the 38 years old single light novel writer. The sweet shy artists that draws the arts for the light novel. The cubby guy who writes the scripts for mecha anime. The woman that everyone thought was a man as she's writing under a pseudonym... It's just so interesting to see those different kind of creators and what kind of stories they were creating and how their realtionship to their characters is like.
On the other hand we have the characters that are even more stereotypical and I love seeing this over the top trope characters. There's a brave fantasy heroine, a 12 year old annoying mecha pilot, a knight which suffered in her dark fantasy setting, a way too chilled guy from a fantasy crime story, a psychopathic girl from a thriller, a magical girl...
And I love even more seeing them fight with all their individual superpowers to a Hiroyuki Sawano soundtrack (the guy who made the music for Attack on Titan, Aldnoah.Zero and Seraph of the End, Kill la Kill, 86, Guilty Crown). And these fights looks AWESOME. The pacing is incredible and I have to admit that the first half of the series I spend with just waiting for the next breathtaking fight and I was never disappointed by the series delivering. The final fight alone was 6 episode! And not the dragon ball kind. 6 episodes of a good we'll structured showdown. Loved it.
The visuals are also worth to mention as the studio had been super creative with those. Not only the fights look awesome but they managed to find a lot of innovative ideas to show some scenes and especially scenes in which a character is just having a 5 Minuten monologue.
The only downside of this anime is that it never got a dub. It's currently licenced by amazon and is only subtitled. Yet, the innovative visuals, the unique story and the awesome fights make it a great anime that I would wish to see dubbed one day.
